“smile!” the blonde chirped happily before the click of her camera shutter went off rapidly capturing the candid moment of the other. “i’m sorry, it just looked so beautiful and the light was just right. i can delete them if you want - i should’ve asked first that was so rude of me.” of course she turned the moment sour with her endless talking. one of her downfalls when it came to interacting with people. “they do look really nice though,” she stated, paging through the photos on the screen and offering the other a look.

freya was used to long nights, the fact that her internal clock was running like it was 3am was nothing new. but, after a day travelling and being handed a mediocre drink and told to go mingle, she was far from chipper. after making her rounds up near the bar, she decided to pay the bright white sand beach a visit. “oh i’m sure that little snippet will find its way into a promo video,” freya tried to stifle her laugh as she took a prolonged sip from her drink. “so, how many people have asked about your accent so far? i’m sure i must be at least the seventh.”

“naw, you’re only like the...fifth maybe?” she teased, “honestly i don’t get the big deal. yeah i say some words funny but doesn’t everyone?” maggie laughed and offered a small shrug. “i just wish people from the south didn’t have such a bad reputation, although to be fair we kinda earned it.” sometimes the girl was hesitant to talk about her hometown in fear of being judged but since her dating life was now being broadcast for the world to see she didn’t have much of a choice.

the other girl’s voice immediately caught cindy’s attention. she spent long summer vacations in her grandparent’s house in texas growing up, and she always found the drawled out accent soothing. “do you want me to pinch you? i can totally do that for you. oh and i love your accent!” it always nice to spread a little of positivity. she wasn’t here for the money, and there was no need to be competitive when it came to dating ( or at least she didn’t think so ). “but it’s all very beautiful, i stayed here on vacation when i was younger. i think it’s even prettier now though.”

“no, no i think i’m fine for now,” the blonde laughed and shook her head while a bright smile beamed on her face. “well thank ya! most people i think have a hard time understanin’ it but i’d like to think it just adds to my charm.” it was soothing to see that everyone she had met thus far was actually really warm and welcoming, the opposite of what she had thought in her mind. “wow, the farthest i ever went for vacation was to the state capital and the cowboy’s stadium. my dad loved it there.”

for someone who had a blast planning this trip, benjamin was overall feeling rather nonchalant about the situation. the beach was pretty, it was fun getting to know people too but then there were bugs and it got kind of humid. “the place is beautiful, that’s for sure,” he nodded along, trying his best to be polite. small talk, all systems go. “is this your first time in greece?”

“first time out of texas, where i’m from,” maggie explained with a slightly embarrassed smile. “first time on a plane, first time seein’ a beach. basically just a lot of firsts for me are gonna happen on this show.” and she hoped that it was only the beginning of her new life.

it doesn’t take a particularly keen eye to be able to tell that the blonde is overwhelmed, and the way she keeps glancing around with wide-eyed wonder makes dylan laugh. ‘ careful, blondie, ’ she responds, tilting her head slightly in the direction of the other woman. her tone carries a warning, but the smile she offers is warm and relaxed, helping to soften the edges of her words. ‘ wishes have a way of coming back to bite people in the ass. you should probably take that back before the universe decides to turn this lovely dream of yours into a nightmare instead. ’ she pauses, hums thoughtfully for a moment before adding, ‘ besides, it’s a little too soon to already be thinking of the end, no ? we just got here. ’

“so far the universe hasn’t done me too dirty in the twenty one years i’ve been on this earth but who knows what’s in store for me,” the blonde laughed. granted, she hadn’t taken any risks in life, hardly ever broke the rules or had any consequences affect her life that drastically. maybe she was due for a little twist in life. “i guess what i was tryin’ to say was that i’m not so sure i wanna go back to small town texas after this is all over. just...thinkin’ ahead for the future.” maybe it was the jetlag or the dull ache of hunger gnawing at her but her thoughts were already running rampant and she just needed to say them out loud.

nate’s ears pricked up at the southern twang of a girl’s voice, and he could have sworn he started to smell peaches and pecan pie. “surprise: it’s not a dream, it’s real as hell.” he had taken the liberty to step behind the bar at the absence of a bartender, since he was one by trade. he made himself a drink, before looking at her. “i’ll make you a drink as well, if you’d like.”

“thank you,” maggie replied but shook her head at his offer, “i’m not much of a drinker. unless you’re any good at makin’ mocktails.” she rested her arms on the lip of the bar and leaned her weight against it as they spoke to each other.

“you’ve never seen the ocean before? where are you from?” he questioned, quirking a brow at her. growing up near the beach, he couldn’t imagine not seeing it for so long; the idea of that made him anxious. “that’s a fair reason,” he agreed, shaking his head with a small smile, “that movie was amazing after all, plus dominic cooper in that…” he let out a soft chuckle. at the mention of her mother, he felt a pang in his heart; it made him some type of homesick, thinking about how he wasn’t going to be able to see his own mom for so long. “are you close to your mom?”

“cottonwood, texas,” the blonde stated proudly, her twang ringing loud and clear, “it’s a small town just outside of dallas and it’s safe to say i didn’t leave home much. comin’ here was my first time on a plane.” sure it seemed silly for a twenty one year old to have never been on a plane before but she never really needed to leave home, until now that is. “i always wanted to go visit the actual island but honestly i think this is better.” the more she thought about her mom and her family the more she grew to miss them. was this whole thing a mistake? hopefully not. “yeah, she’s like my best friend, as sad as that sounds,” maggie chuckled.

“miami is not known for either of those things, but line dancing, sounds like something i must add to my dancing resume. i need a well rounded portfolio after all.” he chuckled. “i will take that vote and very wise suggestion. though i warn you to step back and shield yourself i’d hate to accidentally spray you with sand because of my erratic but perfect movements.” he walked backwards, away from the fire, to a spot less occupied, away from the girl but not so far that she wouldn’t be in the first row. he limbered up, exaggerating his stretches, “get ready for a show worth all five stars. if not, i will gladly keep trying to impress you.” he jumped towards the ground, his legs up, as he his body rolled vertically against the sand. though admittedly, it was not his smoothest performance as it wasn’t as easy as he thought to get a good grip on the sand below him. he was also certain, there would be sand in his hair once he got up.

“i’d be happy to teach ya sometime! it’s pretty easy once ya get the hang of it,” she shrugged, having been doing it basically since she could walk. heading his warning maggie took a step back and fixed her eyes on him, not sure what to expect out of him. “oh please, no need to impress me. i mean, not that it won’t be impressive-i just-,” she spoke, her words sounding flustered as she nervously tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. taking a breath to calm herself she sincerely hoped she hadn’t just made a fool of herself. instead, she watched him move against the sand and began to clap once he stood back up. “now i guess i know why they call it the worm.” a light laugh left her lips as she brushed off the small bits of sand that ended up landing on her.

“it’s really something, isn’t it?” mateo questioned once the girls words reached him, his eyes having been stuck on the ocean for the past few minutes. even though he lived so close to the ocean, there was something much more beautiful about this one. he moved his eyes to the girl, a small smile finding its way onto his face, “what’s your favorite part so far? i’m torn between how blue the ocean looks and how beautiful the buildings are around here.” frankly, it looked like a scene ripped right out of a movie; the white of the buildings against the hills, the crisp blueness of the ocean–it was amazing, really, and mateo never wanted to leave.

“i’ve never even seen the ocean before today and wow it’s worth the wait. it’s just so....unreal,” the blonde mused softly to the other, still in awe of her surroundings. “honestly i can’t even choose. everythin’ just looks straight out of a postcard or magazine or somethin’. i always wanted to come to greece after watchin’ ‘mamma mia’ and here i am!” yeah sure it was a cliche thing to say but coming from a small town she had to imagine what the world was like outside of it. “i wish my mama could see this.”

the day had already been so overwhelming for her already that maggie didn’t know how much more she could take. it was her first time on a plane, on a thirteen hour flight in economy, and her first time in a foreign country and this far away from home. when she originally applied for the show she never dreamed she’d actually get cast but here she was. on a beach in mykonos, greece with complete strangers for the next few months. “i feel like this is all a dream,” the blonde spoke to no one in particular as she kicked the sand with her feet, “a dream i really hope i never wake up from.” her southern drawl sounding particularly prominent among the mix of voices on the beach.

parker stood alongside the bonfire, preaching, “i’m not saying someone should dare me to do the worm, but i’ve been practicing and i think it’s pretty flawless.” parker rolled his shoulders, “or you know any dance moves, i’ve been told i’m quite good and you know, as a queen once said, these hips don’t lie.” with his hand on his hips he leaned from left to right, trying to prove his point,”and while i know it’s corny to quote shakira, i think you can’t ever go wrong with shakira, and that is something i would bet on.”

“my musical and dancin’ knowledge doesn’t extend much past country music and line dancin’ so i can’t comment too much,” maggie began, watching the boy sway his hips and trying not to laugh too hard. “but if that was any indication of your skills i personally vote that you should do the worm dared or undared. although, maybe not next to the fire.” her blue eyes shifted to the fire then back to the boy in front of her.

☼⎿ look who just landed in mykonos, its (MAGNOLIA EVANS) ! don’t they kind of look like (DOVE CAMERON) ? i heard the (TWENTY TWO) year old (CIS FEMALE) identifies as (HETEROSEXUAL) and is just here for the (LOVE/EXPERIENCE) but i could be wrong. (SHE) is from (DALLAS, TX) and is known for many things but their friends say they are (KINDHEARTED) ! but others might say they are (NAIVE) ! one thing they can’t travel without is their (JOURNAL) ! ⏋☼

magnolia aka maggie, mags, lia, anything really here is my sweet little bean and i love her so so much

she’s from a small town in texas right outside of dallas and her southern accent is very prominent when she speaks

she is the youngest of 3 with 2 older brothers, duncan and justin who are v protective of their baby sister

she’s a preschool teacher after getting her teaching licence at community college back home and love working with the kiddos

so she had never been out of her home town until now and she’s a bit scared

she was supposed to get married to her high school bf bc she got pregnant right after graduation but ended up losing the baby and called off the wedding bc of it

she’s still v sensitive about it and is kinda scared to start a new relationship bc of it

she explained to her parents she needed to find herself and signed up for the show to experience new things, people and places

she can be naive at times since she hasn’t experienced much outside of her small southern hometown so forgive her

she just really wants to find someone she connects with and likes her even with all her flaws

she puts herself down a lot and thinks the things she says are stupid just because she was always treated as the dumb blonde back home

no one actually knew how smart she was? so sad

she’s hesitant to voice her opinions but if she really disagrees with u she’ll let u know….politely ofc with a good ole ‘bless ur heart’

honestly she’s just a soft lil cinnamon roll but can be hella judgmental of certain things and how people live their lives sometimes just bc she was so sheltered and grew up in the south so SORRY
