Discover the Benefits of Massage Therapy and Car Accident Injury Treatment
In recent years, massage therapy has gained recognition not only as a mode of relaxation but also as a significant player in natural health care. It is particularly beneficial for those working to recover from injuries sustained in car accidents, with areas like Puyallup offering an array of therapeutic options. Let's dive into understanding how massage therapy can serve as an essential part of car accident injury treatment plans.
Understanding the basics of massage therapy
Massage therapy comprises various techniques that manipulate the body's soft tissues – muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and skin – using hands-on pressure. Its benefits are extensive; ranging from stress reduction and relaxation to targeted relief for specific physical conditions.
Incorporating massage therapy in Puyallup into your injury recovery plan
Car accidents can cause numerous physical issues like whiplash, strains, sprains, and other musculoskeletal injuries. Integrating regular sessions of massage therapy around Puyallup can accelerate your recovery or rehabilitation process post-accident. This natural healthcare strategy eases pain, reduces swelling and inflammation, advances healing rate by boosting blood circulation; thus enhancing both mobility and quality of life post-injury.
Techniques used in massage therapy for car accident injury treatment
In car accident injury treatments involving deep tissue massages mainly focus on alleviating muscle tension resulting from the accident incident. Myofascial release works by releasing tension stored in the fascia - connective tissue surrounding muscles - due to trauma or inflammation. These approaches enhance overall body function while fostering efficient movement patterns disrupted by the accident trauma.
Additionally, trigger point treatments focus on myofascial "trigger points"—areas causing localized pain—to relieve discomfort often experienced following an automobile incident. Pairing these therapies with a chiropractic treatment plan enables a comprehensive approach to restoration from an auto injury.

PLEASE DON’T SCROLL. MY FAMILY REALLY NEEDS HELP. SO PAY ME TO DRAW STUFF
I’ll try to keep this relatively short. My dad was hit in a near lethal car accident and is now almost completely paralyzed. He will no longer be able to work, will need to move to an accessible apt, and has a year of physical therapy ahead of him.
We’re figuring this shit out day by day and are in the process of making long term plans to make sure he’s comfortable. We’re going to need all the financial help we can get.
I’m doing digital and ink commissions, and commissions will be open for the foreseeable future. I won’t be able to fully start digital commissions until the 29th when I return to my apt where I left my tablet. I ask that anyone who commissions me be patient/have no strict short term time constraints. I’m really trying to not lose it and I promise you will get your art.
DM me to discuss commission details and please don’t take it personally if I’m short with pleasantries. I just need money and have been spending days in the ICU.
That’s it for now i think.
UPDATES/EDIT (June 23, 2023): i’ve made a p/ypal as well, p/ypal.me/cperplexa
(just make sure to NOT label it as a commissions/business transaction or paypal may freeze the money. Label it as personal and don’t put anything in the description that would make it look like a commission)
Also I am happy to accept donations through my accounts but I will eventually be posting a gofundme once we know more about our financial situation.
Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated and reached out for a commission. Drawing is a welcome distraction and I appreciate the kind messages.

I’d loveeeeeee to see some more Cry Baby x Brotherly Stevie 🥺
Maybe Cry Baby tore her ACL or had some sort of major surgery and Steve spends literally all his time making sure she’s okay? Like sleeping on the hardwood floor outside her bedroom door, renting a car so he can drive her around and not worry about the bike, making sure she’s taking her pain meds, doing her physical therapy with her until she’s finally able to walk by herself again.
We know Bucky will spend a lot of time with them too, he’s way too protective of CB to trust that her own brother is enough to care for her. But they’d just dot on her constantly, taking turns making her dinner and repositioning her leg so her knee doesn’t swell too much.
I have next to no relationship with my own brother and I’d love to just be healllled by our protective Steve and imagine what it’s like to have a sibling you’re close to…
-dream

The accident happened during a hike you took over the weekend. It only took one small misstep on a loose rock before you tumbled down a small embankment. Your knee twisted awkwardly beneath you, and immediate and intense pain coursed through you as Steve rushed to your side. His face was pale with worry.
Your diagnosis came quickly: a torn ACL requiring surgery and a long recovery process. Steve took it upon himself to be your primary caregiver, even borrowing a car from Stark to ensure you didn’t have to worry about getting around. He didn’t want you riding on the bikes. His protective instincts were in overdrive, and he refused to leave your side.
After your surgery, the days were a blur of pain and medication. Your brother was relentless in his care, by your side constantly. He wanted to ensure you were comfortable and had everything you needed. He brought blankets and pillows into the living room, setting them up on your favorite spot on the couch.
He insisted on staying at your apartment each night, ready to help if you needed anything. Of course, you protested but he was adamant. “Just in case,” he’d brush you off.
One evening, you were propped up in bed with your leg elevated. Steve’s face was etched with concern as he walked into your room with a dinner tray. “How are you feeling?” he asked, setting the tray beside you.
“I’m okay, Stevie,” you replied and offered him a reassuring smile. “A bit sore, but it’s manageable.”
Adjusting the pillows under your leg, he responded. “Good. Let me know if the pain gets worse, okay?”
You nodded, touched by his concern. “Thank you, Stevie. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
He ruffled your hair. “You’d do the same for me,” he gestured toward the food on the tray. “Come on, eat up.”
~
Another constant presence was Bucky, he was often at your apartment more than his own. They took turns, ensuring you weren’t alone.
Bucky walked in with a bag of groceries one afternoon, while you were sitting on the couch doing physical therapy exercises. His eyes scanned the room, and they immediately landed on you and the male nurse. His hands were on your legs as he guided you through the exercises. Bucky’s jaw tightened, but he masked it quickly with a smile.
“Howlett’s sent a case of cola over,” Bucky announced, heading to the kitchen.
The nurse finished the last of your exercises, his hands gentle but firm as he helped you. “You’re doing great,” he said with an encouraging smile. “I’ll be back tomorrow for another session.”
“Thank you,” you nodded, smiling at him as he packed his things and left. “See you tomorrow.”
Bucky emerged from the kitchen, you couldn’t quite place the expression on his face. “How’s the therapy going?” he asked, sitting by you on the couch.
“I’m getting there,” you replied, wincing as you adjusted your leg. Bucky gently lifted over his lap. “He’s been a big help.”
His eyes flickered toward the door where the nurse had just exited. “Yeah, he seems… attentive.”
~
Bucky’s unease toward the nurse persisted, yet he didn’t say anything about it. He instead focused his attention on helping you settle in for the evening. He stayed for a while, chatting with you and telling you stories until your eyelids grew heavy. Eventually, he kissed your forehead and promised to check in with you tomorrow as Steve began to open your apartment door.
Steve walked in with his usual determination, carrying a pizza box. “Hey, how’s my favorite patient doing?”
You managed a tired smile. “Same as always,”
Setting the pizza down, Steve began to unpack it. “I thought you deserved a treat,” he said, handing you a slice. “You’ve been doing great with your exercises.”
Bucky lingered for a second longer, watching you and Steve with a smile. He knew you were in safe hands with your brother. Yet, his protective instincts made it hard for him to leave. “I’ll be back first thing in the morning,” he smiled after one last reassuring look.
With your brother and Bucky by your side, the recovery felt less daunting. Their support was unwavering and their care gave you the strength to push through the pain. Each day ended a little better than the last, and their presence made it all bearable.

Clark Bridge in Alton, Illinois
These were not the photos I intended to take.
They were not the photos I had in my head.
A new friend had offered to help me with various things and one of those things was my photography field trips. We had been planning this for over a week and the day finally came. I was feeling okay, but not 100%. It was nearing sunset and I was getting all of my gear together. Then I decided I needed to find my ND filters (sunglasses for a camera). Which were downstairs in storage. And, stupidly, I spent 20 minutes digging through things to find them. And by the time I found them, I noticed I was out of breath. Usually when I lose my breath that quickly it is a bad sign. My body is telling me I'm probably not up to anything physical at that moment.
But, I really wanted to take some new pictures. My mental health has not been doing great and I just needed some photography therapy. So we headed to the location. When we reached our destination there was an uphill path to where we needed to go.
Tumblr media
It was a warm 85° and I was still not recovered from my scavenger hunt despite the car ride. But I had to get my photo, so I didn't listen to my body. As we walked up the hill I just kept going slower and slower. It was getting harder and harder to breathe. And when I finally got to the top my body had almost no energy left to power itself. And when that happens and all of your vital body functions still demand energy, you can feel quite sick. I tried so hard to tough it out. I took a few test photos. And then I realized I had to either lay down or collapse.
This was my first time meeting this new friend in person. And she was very understanding and helpful. But it was still embarrassing having to lie down on some grass next to a public bike path. There was a moment when I was convinced I was going to need to call EMTs to carry me off that hill.
But I just gave my body a moment and let the bugs eat me as I rested in the sharp grass. And I slowly started to regenerate some energy and felt much less sick. But I could not take another photo. The test shots were all I was going to get. And we had to call it a night and get me back home.
Thankfully walking down a hill is much easier than walking up it. But as I walked down I could see the sun kissing the horizon. I could see the photograph I wanted to take. I was able to get something sort of like I wanted with my smartphone as we walked down the hill (the top photo) but the wide angle lens made the bridge look tiny and I was just frustrated it wasn't what was in my head.
I got home and passed out. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling pretty drained from the experience. But my body seemed to be back to a stable state. I finally looked at the few photos I managed to capture and they actually surprised me. The smartphone snap was way better than I was expecting and with some fancy editing it looked pretty close to the quality of my big camera. And I got that cool boat without even realizing it.
So it seems I can take decent photos by accident during a health crisis.
New talent unlocked.
The actual goal of the evening was to get to know my new friend. And that was 100% accomplished despite my embarrassment. She was very kind and reassured me everything was fine and there was nothing to be embarrassed about. I appreciated that empathy and that's a pretty admirable quality to have in a new friend.

Breaking the Silence; My Mental Health Story for Worldwide Suicide Prevention Day
By ForbiddenSalt
9/10/2024
Trigger Warning: This blog post discusses suicidal ideation, depression, and mental health struggles. If you are in a vulnerable state, please read with caution, and know that support is available through resources like 988, friends, and loved ones.
Resources and helpful tools for self and loved ones provided below the fold.
My Story:
Suicide Awareness Day holds a deeply personal meaning for me. For years, I struggled silently with suicidal thoughts, depression, and anxiety, unsure of how to ask for help or whether I deserved it. Sharing my story now is not just about raising awareness, but about offering hope to anyone who feels the same weight I once carried.
At the age of 13, I began to experience something many people are hesitant to talk about—suicidal ideation. But it wasn’t until I was in college that I truly realized how dangerous those thoughts had become.
I remember one day when I was walking across campus from class to my dorm, lost in thought, and accidentally stepped off the curb without looking. A car was coming toward me. Instinctively, I jumped back, avoiding an accident. But what happened next startled me more than the near-miss. As I stood on the sidewalk, tears welled up, not because I was relieved, not because I was scared—I was upset that my instincts had saved me. I realized I wasn’t crying because I had narrowly avoided getting hit by a car; I was crying because, in that moment, I wanted to be hit. It would have been an "accident"—a way out without me having to act intentionally.
It dawned on me that this was something much more serious than I had admitted to myself.
This wasn’t the first time I had experienced suicidal thoughts, but it was one of the most shocking moments. I knew I needed help. I sought out a counselor at the campus health center and, for a time, tried therapy. When I went home for a break, I spoke to my doctor, and she prescribed me an SSRI. I confided in my family and was met with mixed reactions—some were supportive, while others expressed concerns about the medication, urging me to stop taking it as quickly as possible. This set up an internal battle for me; I began starting and stopping my medication over the next few months, caught between fear and shame; and eventually quit all together.
Suicidal ideation lingered in the back of my mind for years. I wished for a pause button, a way to make the world stop so I could catch my breath and somehow not fall behind. I dreamed of getting hurt or sick enough to be hospitalized, just so I could take a break from life’s demands. But I never let myself act on those thoughts.
It wasn’t until my mid-20s that things got so bad I returned to therapy. This time, it was different. My new therapist helped me understand that I wasn’t “crazy”—I was carrying the weight of childhood trauma and years of struggling to survive. She diagnosed me with complex PTSD, and for the first time, I felt understood. Her support gave me the strength to make significant changes in my life, including moving to a new state.
There, I found another therapist who continued to guide me through the ups and downs. I started back on an SSRI and have stayed on it ever since. Through this process, I realized that what I had been dealing with wasn’t just emotional—it was also biological. My body wasn’t producing enough serotonin, and my chronic illnesses, were compounding these mental health struggles by denying my body the tools to make its own serotonin and through the weight of the symptoms. Especially for a while before there was any answer or treatment plan in sight.
I went through EMDR therapy, talk therapy, and put in the hard work to heal. I focused on my physical and mental health, fighting for answers and for my life. Slowly, I began to reclaim control. I started to recognize the warning signs of passive suicidal ideation and created an action plan for when those thoughts creep in. I don’t go to therapy as often now, but I still have touch-base appointments in case something changes.
Through this journey, I’ve learned so much about myself and the nature of mental illness. Depression, anxiety, and PTSD were not signs that I was lazy or difficult, though I was often labeled as such. They were symptoms of a much deeper issue. I wish people could see that depression isn’t a mindset or mood and suicidal thoughts are not selfish—they are the final, fatal symptom of a disease.
It took a long time for me to accept that what I went through wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t to blame for the trauma I endured or the way my brain and body responded to it. And if you’re reading this and find yourself in a dark place, I want you to know you are not alone. I know what it’s like to stand in the darkness for so long that it starts to feel like home. But I also know that it is possible to fight back, to heal, and to find hope again.
If you can’t fight for yourself right now, I encourage you to reach out to someone—anyone—who can sit with you in your pain. Let them help you find a therapist, a doctor, or simply help with daily tasks. It might not be the person you expect. For me, one if my company leaders had noticed my depression and helped me find a therapist. I had a best friend who sat with me over the phone while I sobbed broken hearted, encouraging me to seek help if I needed it. That going to the hospital if I needed it wasn’t shameful or weak but brave and admirable. It was my grandmother, who spoke to me daily, reminding me of my faith and offering love when I couldn’t love myself and felt those I loved most didn’t love me.
Faith also played a huge role in my healing. I’ve had my share of questions and anger, but my belief that God could handle my questions and my rage helped me through some of the darkest times. I questioned why my life was going the way it was, why I was feeling the way I did, if He knows everything before it happens, if he’s all powerful why didn’t he step in to change the course of my life away from this. My questions turned to anger and I had to keep reminding myself that God had shoulders big enough for my anger, my tears, my pain. That I could toss all of it at him and he’d still see me still, love me. I never doubted his existence, and honestly to this day I still don’t have all the answers but I’m sure one day I’ll understand and I’ve realized I was still loved even when I couldn’t see it.
My family eventually came around too. Even my dad, who I had thought didn’t believe me, recently admitted how scared he had been for me after he had kept his fears hidden for years since it had gotten bad. We were able to talk and he listened, shared his point of view, and made the effort to understand. He allowed me to assure him I was safe now, I was doing better, and it’s changed our relationship for the better. While I had found my way to stability without knowing if my family believed or supported me, learning my family did care enough to worry, cared enough to learn, and loved me enough to listen even if what I said was hard to hear meant the world to me.
If you’re struggling, know that there is help out there. Call 988 for support, reach out to friends, hug your dog or cat, cling to your faith—whatever gets you through the next moment. Each day is a step, and that’s enough. It doesn’t have to be a leap—it just has to be forward.
Resources for support below:
Here are some coping strategies:
1. Box Breathing: This simple technique can help reduce anxiety. Breathe in for four counts, hold for four, exhale for four, and pause for four. Repeat until your heart rate slows and you feel more grounded. You can do this while on a video call too just let your eyes glide along the edges of the screen while you hold and breathe.
2. Straw Breathing: Another great calming tool—take a deep breath in, and then slowly exhale like you’re blowing through a straw. It mimics the relaxing response of the parasympathetic nervous system and helps you focus.
3. Journaling: I started journaling, reminding myself it didn’t have to be perfect. It was just for me. I stopped feeling guilty if I skipped days or weeks and let the words flow when I needed them. If you struggle with journaling, try creating an anonymous blog where you can rant and vent without worrying about dates or continuity. I have a separate Tumblr just for this—a void I can yell into when I need to.
4. Bilateral Stimulation: Butterfly taps—crossing your arms and tapping on opposite shoulders—helped calm me during moments of stress. This was especially useful during EMDR therapy, which became one of my strongest tools.
5. Creating a Routine: I used to go to the gym to cope before my chronic illness made it harder, so I shifted to art as a form of expression. Creating anything—whether it’s a routine or a creative outlet—can make a difference.
6. Boundaries and Emotions: Learning boundaries and reconnecting with my emotions was vital. One book that really changed my perspective was Rage Becomes Her by Soraya Chemaly, which helped me embrace my anger as a valid emotion. Learn how to advocate for yourself and establish boundaries. This takes time, but it’s one of the most empowering things you can do for your mental health.
7. Prioritize Yourself: Make time for what you need—therapy, the gym, a bath, or a doctor’s appointment. And allow yourself to rest. Your mind and body will force you to stop if you keep ignoring the warning signs.
8. Taking Shortcuts: Too tired to make a proper meal? That’s okay. Eat food however it comes—deconstructed meals are all the rage anyway. I’ve had moments where lunch was just handfuls of cheese and lunch meat. The goal is to nourish yourself, and sometimes that means being kind to yourself about how you do it.
10. Create Safety Nets: If you're heading somewhere that could be triggering, plan for it. What’s your exit strategy? Can you bring a comfort item, like a fidget toy, a blanket, or a stuffed animal? Having a plan can give you a sense of control.
11. Redirecting Negative Thoughts: When I get caught in negative thoughts, I ask myself if these thoughts are helping me process emotions or if they're just hurting me. If I’m not ready to process them, I work on redirecting my focus to something more helpful.
13. Emotional Support Animals: If you can, get an emotional support animal. My mini schnauzer has helped me through so much, even though she doesn’t know it.
How can I help a loved one:
1. Listen First: Before jumping to solutions, take time to listen. Validate the person's feelings, and let them process before suggesting how to fix things. Most of the time, they already know the solution; they just need space to work through it.
2. Stop Shaming Mental Health: Be mindful of how you talk about mental health. I’ve overheard loved ones shaming people for being "selfish" or "foolish" for being depressed, anxious, suicidal and even those that did commit suicide not knowing how often it was on my mind. Those words made it even harder to speak up and ask for help.
3. Fear and Guilt Are Not Helpful Tools: Fear and guilt are not effective motivators when it comes to mental health. I once told someone close to me that I didn’t believe people who commit suicide go to hell. Just as someone who passes from cancer doesn’t go to hell for how they died, I believe the same for depression—it’s an illness. They responded that they hoped fear of hell would keep me from acting on those thoughts. I explained that, by the time someone is ready to act, they likely don’t care anymore. The weight of the pain is overwhelming, and fear or guilt won’t pull them back.
4. Recognize the Signs: Suicidal ideation, passive suicidal ideation, and suicidal plans are all dangerous and need treatment and support. It may begin with passive thoughts like, “I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t wake up tomorrow,” but those can shift into active planning if left unchecked. Just because someone hasn’t acted on it doesn’t mean they don’t need help. Depression doesn't always look the same for everyone. It could be messy rooms, low energy, or a lack of interest in things that once brought joy. It could also look like reckless behavior, withdrawing, or joking about death. These subtle signs shouldn’t be brushed off—they’re as important as overt cries for help and worth a check as little as “hey you keep making these jokes, I just want to make sure you really are okay?” If someone is talking about feeling hopeless, giving away possessions, withdrawing from loved ones, or engaging in risky behavior, these are red flags.
5. Offer practical support: Whether it’s helping with daily tasks, providing a ride to a therapy appointment, or just sitting quietly with them, practical support can be a lifeline.
6: Encourage professional help: Gently suggest therapy, medical care, or other professional help if the person hasn’t already sought it. Be patient and compassionate, understanding that reaching out can be terrifying for them.
7. Be present: Sometimes the best thing you can do is just be there. Your physical and emotional presence can provide comfort, even when there are no words.
If you have a loved one who you worry is going through something, or has confided in you and you are worried for them. Don’t wait. Speak to them. Ask them how you can help, what’s going on, listen. If you’re afraid for them, even after they have gotten to the other side, don’t let your fears tear at you for months, tell them then listen and trust that when they say they are good, have come out the other side have an action plan for when they notice the signs - belive them. If you can’t let it go still, seek your own support. The fear of loosing someone you care about is worthy of attention. If you’re reading this because someone you love is struggling with suicidal thoughts, thank you for caring. Supporting someone with suicidal ideation can be incredibly difficult, but your presence matters more than you might realize.

Suggestions for Keeping Yourself Safe:
1. Create a safety plan: Write down a plan for when suicidal thoughts occur. This could include calling a trusted friend, therapist, family, distracting yourself with an activity you enjoy, or going to a safe place where you can feel grounded and making an appointment with your doctor.
2. Reach out to a support network: Whether it’s friends, family, or a therapist, let someone know how you’re feeling. It’s important not to isolate yourself when you’re struggling.
3. Remove means: If you’re feeling unsafe, remove items that could be harmful or ask someone you trust to hold onto them temporarily. There is no shame in this ever.
4. Practice grounding techniques: When suicidal thoughts take over, try grounding yourself with techniques like deep breathing, focusing on your senses, or engaging in mindfulness exercises. These can help bring you back to the present moment. Call on your faith if you need to to get by, play with your pet anything to help you get grounded and move through the feeling
5. Remember that feelings pass: In the heat of the moment, it can feel like the pain will last forever. But emotions are temporary, and feelings—even the darkest ones—eventually pass. That feelings are normal and natural and have no moral judgement, feel it, acknowledge it, and let it move through knowing another feeling will come your way take its place.
Recovery isn’t pretty, and life isn’t perfect; but you are worth fighting for.

Flightless Bird
Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw X Wife!reader
Summary: Rooster gets injured during a mission and must be grounded.
Warnings: near death accident, some angst, MOSTLY FLUFF
———————————————————————
You just finished your shift at The Hard Deck and your phone rings as you’re unlocking your husband's light blue Ford Bronco. Rushing to set your bag down and dig for your cell phone, you almost miss the call catching it on the very last ring. The voice on the other end of the line confirms who they're speaking to before introducing themselves.
When you hear the word hospital, your heart drops into your stomach. You knew Rooster was going on a mission today, he assured you that it was low intensity and he was more than confident everything would be fine. Tears filled your eyes as his condition was calmly explained to you.
He was in surgery to repair a major artery in his leg. Turns out a missile got his jet luckily he ejected just in time, but a piece of shrapnel got him on the way out. You struggle to keep yourself together and get through the phone call.
“Mrs.Bradshaw, I wish I could tell you it was something small. It's quite bad, but he has a very high chance of surviving.” The woman's voice was soft and reassuring.
You sniffle and let out a small laugh. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to laugh. It’s just, that’s what he told me this morning when he left. Um, anyway, I’ll be there soon. Thank you for calling!”
You set your phone down and with a shaking hand start to put the key in the ignition. When you drop the keys you silently curse to yourself and sit back for a moment. Taking in several deep breaths, you manage to collect yourself and get the car started.
You didn’t grow up with religious parents so you didn’t spend much time praying except now. The entire drive was spent holding back tears and begging whatever higher power was listening to do just this one favor for you. Driving to the hospital was the easy part but making yourself get out of the car and walk into the building felt impossible.
When you walk in you immediately spot Maverick. He stands up to meet you and the panic finally starts to set in. Tears stream down your face and your breathing quickens suddenly unable to form words.
The older pilot pulls you into a hug attempting to calm you. “He’s going to be fine, you know he’s too stubborn to give up now.”
You manage to catch your breath enough to speak. “I appreciate the sentiment Mav, but I don’t need the empty promises.” You were thinking worse words than that but couldn’t bring yourself to say them at the moment.
“You’re right. Let’s go to the waiting room.” He showed you the way to the room full of seats and got her settled in.
Mav did what he could to take care of you and keep you calm. At one point you were completely zoned out staring at the old and worn out carpet under your feet. Your leg was subconsciously bouncing with anxiousness, you didn't snap out of your trance until you heard your fairly new last name get called out. The nurse with a clipboard in her hands motioned you to come out into the hallway. You wasted no time and Mav followed close behind.
“Your husband is in recovery. The surgery went just fine, but he’s going to need to do physical therapy for his leg. I’m afraid he won’t be able to fly anymore.” The nurse led you back into recovery to be with him until they could get him a room.
The sight of your unconscious husband bandaged up broke your heart but he’s alive. Your prayers were heard. At this point Mav had gone home and you stayed by his side watching over him like a hawk, any movement or groan he made had your full attention. It seemed like forever until they got him into a room.
He was finally starting to wake up when they locked the hospital bed into place. His words were jumbled and started to frantically look around. “My, my wife. Call-“ Rooster groaned and let his head fall back into the pillow.
“I’m here Roost, right here.” You stood at the foot of his bed out of the way of the nurses but in his view.
Once he saw you he let himself relax and fall asleep again. The nurse assigned to take care of him pulls you aside and goes over his medications and what needs to happen to speed up the healing process. Finally you feel like you can breathe again.
That night, you fell asleep in an awkward position in the chair next to his bed and no matter how you moved in your sleep your hand stayed on his. The sound of the bed creaking and fabric rustling woke you, Mav was right he is too stubborn. Bradley was trying to get out of bed, luckily he didn’t want to wake you so he hadn’t made much progress yet.
“Honey, what are you doing?” You jump up out of the chair and meet him on the other side of the bed to keep him from falling.
Rooster sighed and looked up at you like a puppy. “I just wanted to get out of bed.”
You sit on the bed next to him and hold his hand. “I don’t even think you’re supposed to be sitting up like this right now.” You softly chuckle at his eagerness.
He turns to you and kisses your forehead. I’m so sorry baby.”
“Sorry for what? You did what you were supposed to.” You watched him try to decide what emotion he should be feeling.
“You’re stuck taking care of me now.” He twinged when he attempted to move the injured leg.
“I married you, remember? I read the terms and conditions in full detail.” A soft smile sends a wave of comfort over him. “I’m just so happy I get to be here with you right now and not planning a funeral.”
You both silently laugh at the comment. “So please, for me, do what you need to do to get better. I’d love to get you home as soon as possible too.”
“Since you asked so nicely.” He smirked and kissed the back of your hand.
Eventually, Rooster got sent home and did everything he was supposed to do. You and Mav already had a talk with him about how his condition prohibits him from flying again. He didn’t take it well at first. After giving him a day or two to calm down he came to you with a serious look on his face.
He looked like a scared little kid, your first response was to hold your arms open for him. He quickly accepted and held you close. “I think I’m going to take Mav up on that offer, if I can’t fly them I at least want to work on them.”
You smile softly down at him and play with his hair. “I told you that was a good idea. Think about all that will open up for you in this position. We could finally start a family.”
He lifts his head up excitedly. “You mean it?” When the conversation came up before your marriage you were on the fence about having kids just because you knew what Rooster went through.
“I don’t want you to give up what you love, but it’s hard enough as is for me to keep myself together worrying about what’s going to happen to you when you leave every day. I can’t even imagine having a kid.” You both stare at each other as the words echo in your heads.
“Yes baby, I mean it.” By the time you finish your sentence Rooster has pulled you into a deep passionate kiss.

the breathless joy....with which he greets clark....the way he promises to tell no one about his secret abilities....the way he begs him to help him....but the thing is Lex really DOES need therapy and time in a psychiatric unit (a good one tho lol jesus), even though he isn’t clinically psychotic.  he could GET there very easily, given the LONG list of trauma he’s undergone since he was a little kid.
like. how many things can i list as of mid season 3? some of them are just really painful ways to erode lex’s sense of safety and trust, others are full-blown traumatic episodes. and most significantly, MANY are CHRONIC, and NONE are ever ADDRESSED PROPERLY.
--lionel’s incessant narcissistic abuse and neglect
--health scares connected to asthma (don’t you dare @ me on this, i have lived through several family and friends having asthma and attacks are unpredictable and scary asf, no matter how rich your parents are)
--the smallville meteor shower and the physical and mental trauma of being caught in a kryptonite explosion
--julian’s death (and lex believes he’s at fault even though he was a small child) and lex’s subsequent nervous breakdown
--significant bullying from childhood peers over his appearance, the breakdown (it happened at excelsior/prep school in the “belltower”), and socio-economic privilege
--surely knowing lionel was unfaithful to lillian multiple times
--lillian’s death, unexpectedly, of cancer
--the way lionel’s abuse and neglect doubtlessly intensified thereafter
--the nanny, the closest thing to a proxy mother, abandoning lex shortly thereafter
--the club zero incident and fallout, and lex’s attempt to take the blame for his friend
--the “bad things” lex did in college, and their consequences
--being “exiled” to smallville to run a seemingly doomed fertilizer plant
--the infamous car accident and near-death experience
--the whole bullshit with pheromone girl trying to marry and use him
--the whole bullshit with that victoria chick and her dad
--the hostage situation over level three
--the nanny resurfacing, and dealing with her death being like reliving lillian’s death
--being kidnapped, hung upside down, and threatened in the dark at gunpoint by the guy who looked like the guy lex’s friend killed in club zero
--multiple professional assassination attempts on lex’s life, including by his own father and by one of clark’s vigilante classmates, who sees lex as a “meteor freak”
--the whole thing with the clairvoyant old lady who DIED because of how scared she was by seeing what was IN HIS FUTURE!!!!! (and we’re surprised he’s paranoid????)
--the entire tornado thing, where he had a chance to let lionel die (he fucking should have, he probably would never have become a villain if he had, i said what i said) but didn’t, and then had to deal with his fake-blind dad gaslighting and guilting him while invading and monitoring and BUGGING his own personal space
--closely related, the luthercorp buyout of lexcorp: it’s a form of assault and disrespected boundaries, it’s a denial of autonomy, it’s toxic!!! it counts!!!!
--learning and forgetting (even if he forgets, the damage is there) several times that his best friend is a powerful alien and never told him
--repeatedly trying to show the kents respect and affection and repeatedly being judged by jonathan kent based on lionel luther’s actions
--being lied to and then learning the truth about what happened to his grandparents (his dad murdered them in a rigged tenement explosion, with a best friend who is apparently a notorious mob boss, lmfao)
--falling in love with helen and nearly losing her to a stalker’s attack
--marrying helen and being betrayed and left for dead on a tropical island because of her
--realizing he’s had a psychotic episode while on that island COMPLETELY ALONE FOR 3 MONTHS--one which revealed his (understandable tbh) desire to commit patricide--and realizing he can’t even trust his own goddamn senses
--realizing the woman he genuinely loves and trusts did try to kill him and that his ABUSER! was RIGHT!!!! about her!!!!
--trying to win back his ABUSER’S!!!!! respect by becoming a luthercorp employee again and being  gaslit into further self-doubt by said abuser (”are you SURE you’re okay son uwu” fuck a cactus lionel)
--learning clark’s good friend chloe was researching and working for lionel behind his back
--ALL the events of “Shattered,” including learning he accidentally mortally wounded lana, who’s probably been kinder to him than anyone else
--after it all being stuck in a horrible mental hospital and realizing his best friend won’t help him (in his own admittedly warped perception)
Holy shit that’s 33 things.

hellooo there!! anth's (26, he/him, est) in your area! i'm really excited to be here and to introduce you to a muse who's really near to my heart, park duri(he/him, '03)! he's essentially a recreation of one of my most beloved muses, specially catered to this verse! i hope you all grow to love him as much as i love him! here you can find his about, here you can take a look at his pinterest, and here you can find some plots! without furtherado, let's get into park duri! if you'd like to plot, please like this post or feel free to im me!
i would just like to give a quick heads up that there is some triggers under the cut (and on duri's about page), these include car accident, parental death, ptsd, and injury! they're tagged accordingly, just in case you'd like to skip!
Tumblr media
born on christmas day in 2003 in seoul to two young parents, who were still in college at the time of duri's birth.
this meant that he spent a lot of time with his family members, like grandparents, and that of the such. duri became really family oriented from a young age because of this - he's always been pretty close to his family.
duri's parents kept going back and forth on names that they wanted to name duri at the time, and it was taking them a bit. however, when aeji's friends had visited her in the hospital to see the baby, they made mention of him being the perfect combination of the both of them. so, her friends suggested naming him duri (두리) meaning two. these friends still check in on duri from time to time, and he's friends with their kids, even though he is older.
when duri is four, his parents get their dream jobs, and they're finally able to live in a better apartment, and they kind of move to more of a fancy apartment, thanks to the jobs the two took on.
CAR ACCIDENT TW, PARENTAL DEATH TW // however, life took a turn for the worst when duri is six years old, and a car accident occurs, with him in the back seat. both of his parents pass from the accident, leaving duri the sole survivor, being pulled from the accident by bystanders. // END TW.
INJURY TW // he injured his leg pretty badly in the accident, causing him to be in a cast. later having to get physical therapy to get it back to the proper leg! he tends to suffer from a pain flare up in his right leg every now and then, but he usually just pushes through it - tending to hide it from those around him in someway because he doesn't want them to worry // END TW.
his uncle, hojoon, and his aunt, mihi, take over guardianship of duri. his uncle and aunt own a café, living in the two floor apartment above their successful café, in hongdae, mapo-gu, seoul.
PTSD, GRIEF TW // duri developed ptsd from the car accident, causing him these intense nightmares every now and then. sometimes even the sounds of smashing glass would cause him to have a ptsd episode. he would ultimately end up going to a therapist and grief counselor to help him. sometimes, he still struggles with his mental health and nightmares, but it's under control. // END TW.
other health is duri having an alcohol allergy. meaning he tends to have a terrible time with most foods, but will tend to pop allergy medication when he wants tteokbokki.
at some point, duri got really into music and singing. he would often sing a lot, run around singing, sing to himself, and all that type of stuff. his uncle and aunt picked up on it, but it wasn't until duri came to them that they put effort into getting him into music classes, most importantly vocal classes to really help him cultivate the vocals he was truly blessed with.
always did really well in school, got high marks. was often the class president/class representative because he was friends with everyone. a lot of people would tend to use that to their advantage though.
definitely got picked on too, though, due to being "so happy" and "so nice" all the time. also because sometimes he wouldn't eat in the cafeteria and would find somewhere to eat himself when his mental health would be making him feel kinda overwhelmed. this is something that he'll still do and that's probably when you know duri isn't feeling the best.
spent a lot of his time doing vocal classes and things of that nature, he never attended an after school academy - instead, he taught academics to himself in some kind of way. kind of just studied really hard, just so he didn't need it.
won a lot of talent/singing shows around seoul as a teenager, became rather known in that circle, especially for his voice.
he went on a variety show as a teenager as well, a singing show (think something like fantastic duo, the sistar episode lives in my head), that gathered himself some attention.
after the talent/singing shows and that variety show, he would often get casted by talent scouts. but, he always thought he was being scammed so he turned them down.
he has a youtube channel that he tends to upload to every now and then, maybe you could call him a youtuber, duri might not. but, he tends to upload song covers to that channel, as well as some of the vocal/talent competitions he's taken part of around seoul. check out duri's record shop on youtube!
he's known for his beastly vocals.
he really loves to sing, essentially does it pretty often, and is known to sing to himself whenever he's doing a task.
he attended yonsei university for like six months, but it just wasn't for him at all, so he ended up dropping out.
as a teenager, he gained two certifications - one in vocal training, as he got super into it throughout all the years that he's been in vocal classes himself and really studied, so he took the test! also attended barista school at night and got his certification in that, simply so he can help out at his uncle and aunt's café.
currently, duri works as a barista at his uncle and aunt's café! this is temporary, simply because he's trying to chase his dreams of becoming an idol. he uploads to his youtube channel every now and again, as well, especially because he has some more time.
duri can easily be described as bright, bubbly, happy, and sweet in a way; he's almost sickly sweet, bright, bubbly, and happy. he challenges the sun in that way and it's like sunshine follows behind him when he walks.
tends to hide his sadness and gloom because it's something that he feels from time to time, thanks to his mental health; but, he never wants to burden anyone with it, so he kind of just buries it in someway. perhaps, there's someway that you're able to tell that he's sad when you're close to him, but otherwise, he hides it.
there's not one mean bone in his body; who knows how that's possible, but duri doesn't know what that means!
i've always said if duri wasn't smart, he'd definitely be a himbo. he holds the himbo energy, 100%.
heart is too big for his chest really, he's someone who's also super caring and will always care about someone. tends to put others' before himself.
he can usually be seen with a big smile upon his lips. he's truly just always smiling.
honestly he's kind of just like a puppy, he's a soft boy in a harsh world, kind of scared of the world sometimes. he's a really big dreamer, believes in the stars, very into y2k stuff (lots of his wardrobe is y2k inspired.) likes big sweaters. really likes books, has a collection of books. loves plushies, has a collection of those as well. big foodie, big on cooking as well. can make a mean latte. he really likes "cozy" video games, such as stardew valley, animal crossing, disney dreamlight valley, house flipper, you see the theme!
he's not a big fan of cars or small spaces. elevators are something he's not a fan of, but he takes them because he usually just has to. at this point, duri just closes his eyes, stands in the back, and sings quietly to himself, pretending he was somewhere else. keeps his eyes closed until he's off the elevator - it's honestly a sight to see.
duri lives in the apartment next to his uncle's and aunt's apartment that's above the café, just so he has his own space and they thought it would be good to give duri his own space, esp so he can hang out with friends and such in his apartment. duri is still often in their apartment because he tends to cook dinner for them. half the time he's not entirely sure what to do with his own space, but you know.
he's very big, super gay! just very very gay, and we love that for him.
he's a big, big fan of cherish and nana. has definitely gone to a few different cherish and nana concerts over the year. also really likes ri5e/ris3, lightspeed, starlie, and a.maze.
really hopes he gets the chance to be a trainee and debut as an idol (main vocalist), it's his biggest dream and he's working really hard towards it! ♡

born on christmas day in 2003 in seoul to two young parents, who were still in college at the time of namu's birth.
this meant that he spent a lot of time with his family members, like grandparents, and that of the such. namu became really family oriented from a young age because of this - he's always been pretty close to his family.
due to a special moment of his mom's friends bringing her a small, decorated pine tree when they visited her after giving birth to namu, his parents decided to take namu (나무), meaning tree, from sonamu (소나무), meaning pine tree; a tree traditionally used for christmas, as his name.

“Extremely strong atheism”
(tw death, fear, life-threatening danger, anxiety, drug use, war, cancer, car accident, near-death experience)
(copied from Twitter)
So "dread of ego dissolution" is a measure of an adverse psychedelic effect where you are terrified your self is being destroyed (similar to what I saw when I almost died?), and having this happen from psychedelics is associated with worsening depression (frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…)
I feel like when you've seen what actually happens when you die and your self is erased into nonexistence (speaking from my actual experience of almost dying, not a hallucinogen) it's almost impossible to stop being aware of it at every moment and freaking out about it constantly
I think my awareness of this may be an absolute contraindication to ever trying psychedelics again. There isn't ever going to be a "set and setting" where I'm not constantly aware and terrified of death, and you aren't supposed to give someone psychedelics when that's going on
Drugs like psilocybin and MDMA are also used to treat traumatic stress and PTSD, but even if that does anything (the overall effect might not be all that impressive), there's just something about this particular experience I had of seeing what death actually consists of
It's not like any drug I ever happen to take is going to change anything about our fundamental situation as decaying material beings trapped for a finite span in a physical universe before we're killed and erased like an animal dying. How is hallucinating supposed to fix this? I didn't have an out of body experience at all when it was happening, and actually, since HRT made me stop dissociating, it's possible it helped keep me grounded inside my body as it was being killed and my perception stayed completely fixed in place as everything was closing out
There's also some positive version of this apparently experienced under psychedelic use called "oceanic boundlessness" associated with better outcomes and improvement in depression symptoms. There's an entire history of calling it "oceanic". Why does it have to be that :(
But yeah, when you know that reality is actually a fucking horrifying nightmare you're trapped in and your body can literally die and wipe out your entire self forever, taking a drug that generates more apparent altered realities of an unclear nature seems extremely dangerous
And if there were a drug that did anything to fix this, it would have to be some kind of hypothetical drug that actually changes beliefs and values, something that makes you acquire a belief in an afterlife or postmortem "survival" even when there's still no evidence of this
Which would also be a really worrying effect for a drug to have and it's probably really good that drugs can't do that
I wish this was something that could be more conventionally addressed like depression, or like a specific phobia of water, but there's not a way to exposure-therapy yourself about the fact that death is still always there and waiting to finish the job of erasing you at any moment
Nobody understands why that experience isn't something I can just get over. I could spend however much money on therapy and still come out the other end as a body that knows it's going to die
A lot of "bad trip" experiences with psychedelics involve reports of something like fear that one will be trapped in a place for eternity or will experience something going on forever. Not the fear and certainty that everything is actually about to end in the next few seconds
I wish I had a subjective eternity to be terrified of, at least you'd still exist at all
I've been extremely angry since then, more than usual, at Christian religions claiming there is a hell, because I don't consider this a threat, I consider this a bogus promise they'll never make good on
It's "hell"? Who cares about that part? The point is they're telling people you get to keep existing after you die which is awful and untrue and a disservice to everyone
I have actually screamed at campus preachers about how this is worse than hell and how dare they even promise us hell? I'm hopeful that going through some studies of what is happening during "ego dissolution" in psychedelic use may provide some information on what my brain was doing and perceiving while I was drowning, although it should be specific to the the "dread" part (pharmrev.aspetjournals.org/content/74/4/8…)
I'm still very confused about how being dunked underwater for less than 5 seconds, and not having my body physiologically die or even come close, caused me to acquire that significant of an experience and apparent knowledge in what seemed like one key moment
Previous thread on how, at least on paper, this suggests cocaine is something that reinforces your sense of self and increases your confidence in a way apparently opposite of ego dissolution. I can't confirm that because you can't just be doing cocaine
That scale above was able to, for instance, show that cocaine use has an almost opposite effect of "ego dissolution" seen with psychedelics. Cocaine and psychedelics are tapping on the same slider there. So that's like saying doing cocaine was a life-changing spiritual experience (https://twitter.com/ZJemptv/status/1589853648074727424)
But does cocaine make you stop being afraid of death all the time? I really hope that when I do die I'm so out of it at that point that I have no real lucidity or comprehension at all of what's happening, because being completely aware that it's happening is the worst thing ever
I've had to stop describing it in so much detail because it was starting to give a couple people frequent ruminations about death after they read what I was saying and they hadn't even had a near-death experience, so just, going into death suddenly with eyes wide open is so bad
It also completely upends your life when you survive, there is so much now that I just don't care about anymore, because I can't force myself to consider it important enough to be worth spending my limited time on
I mean I completely understand now why my paternal grandfather absolutely lost his shit and went off the rails after serving in the Korean War and why my dad did the same twice after almost dying in a car accident at 18 and almost dying of leukemia in his early 30s
It has a way of absolutely arresting your attention, although in their cases it also led to an incredible amount of egregiously erratic and sometimes uncontrolled irrational behavior that was dangerous to themselves and others
As in problematic substance use, violence, unaddressed severe mental illness, a ton of destructive and maladaptive behaviors that I personally am not interested in leaning into
Anyway, I need a specific term for: this fusion of true belief and deep knowledge, reinforced by acquired experience, of an atheistic nonspiritual physicalism-materialism/other nondualism in the nature of the universe and consciousness, that entails destruction upon bodily death
Because this experience strongly confirmed for me some kind of Atheism And Then Some
I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm thinking about this on some level at literally all times since the moment it happened at approximately 1:00 PM on September 2. There's no way not to be aware of it even just as the backdrop of everything, and frequently it gets foregrounded
I've never believed in anything more deeply and strongly and genuinely than what I saw and experienced that day
There's weak atheism, there's strong atheism, and then there's this "extremely strong atheism" that honestly seems to have been imposed on me, in the form of an experience similar to the "faith conviction" sometimes described by adherents as their form of religious epiphany
Just not like a conversion, but a very emphatic reaffirmation that what I previously believed on a deep level is also in fact true in reality on a deep level

In a Heartbeat - Chapter 21 - Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Simon
It had been a few days since I fully woke up from being here.
Sam had mentioned something about a car accident, which explained my injuries but I still didn't remember exactly how or when it happened.
Had the driver been okay?
Were they the ones who brought me here?
I was surprised to learn that aside from Clara and Sam, there was only one other person who worked at the clinic.
An older lady named Ava who mostly handled the paperwork, supplies and front desk.
Despite how many animals that were here, the three of them seemed to manage all on their own.
Clara apparently was a technician, often helping Sam with the regular patients, while Sam had taken care of the rogues like me.
There had been a young pregnant she-wolf in one of the cages in the other room that Sam had introduced me too.
She never had a pack but her mate had been someone from my old pack.
She couldn't go back to the RCPP since she had a tracker but her pup was expected soon.
She had stumbled upon this place where Sam was willing to help her out for her delivery.
I was slowly moving around, still putting only a little weight on my back left leg, often just hopping around the clinic as the three of them worked together.
Despite having the splint off and the sutures removed, the leg was still tender, the muscles slightly atrophic since the surgery.
Apparently, my other injuries had healed just fine but the broken pelvic bone and fractured hip was still going to take a long road to recovery.
Sam said I fractured roughly three to four ribs from the accident.
He had shown me the x-ray but I honestly wasn't familiar with x-rays to see what he had pointed at.
Sam insisted I shouldn't shift, that it may exacerbate the injury but I was getting annoyed at not being able to ask questions.
Plus I wanted to help.
I hated feeling like a burden, another patient that they had to keep an eye on.
At least in my human form, I could use crutches to get around instead of hopping throughout the clinic.
Physical therapy sessions were actually quite fun.
Sam and sometimes Clara would help out, placing a blanket around my torso like a sling to help me slowly put pressure on the injured leg to build up muscle.
It was sore every now and then but I could tell I was improving.
********
Sam had given me the all-clear to shift today.
I don't know why but I was way too excited for it.
The bones had healed nicely, just a small hairline fracture was left from the pelvic bone but putting pressure on my leg was not a problem anymore.
Although walking a certain way caused occasional pain, it was easy to hide it and subsided within a few minutes.
I did my usual rounds by following Sam and Clara around the clinic or greeting guests near Ava at the front desk.
I didn't have to hobble around anymore and I actually felt never better.
It was a strange sensation.
I was happy here.
As seemingly mundane and boring as it was, I enjoyed the simplicity of it all.
And even though the clinic was open from nine in the morning till six in the afternoon, most of the time the three of them stayed late.
Sam practically lived here, only leaving to grab some food or supplies he had stored at home.
Most nights he slept in the office or on a cot in the operating room.
But most of the time, he'd be checking in on all the animals, giving them the same affection he had given me that night I woke up.
It was endearing, to say the least.
It was about six forty-five, well after closing but the three were still sorting out some files, Clara handling an emergency case that had walked in right before closing.
Sam was working in his office, so I sauntered over.
"Hey, you," he set aside the file he was looking at.
"My favorite patient. Don't tell the others."
Walking closer, I nudged his hand with my nose, where he quickly patted my head, giving my ears a good scratch.
"Feel free to shift whenever. There are spare clothes in that duffel bag next to the desk. You can shift in here if you like, I'll shut the door for you and be outside," he smiled, before standing up to leave the room.
It didn't take long for me to feel the shift.
It was a process, the bones needed to realign, muscles shift to accommodate the human anatomy.
For the most part, it was painless, aside from the brief sharp pain in my hip.
Luckily it subsided, I let the stiffness fade before reaching for the clothes.
They were slightly baggy, a little long, as expected from Sam's clothes.
Being in my wolf form for that long was bound to make things awkward for a bit in my human form.
I tested out my voice, making sure it didn't sound so groggy.
Aside from the slight limp, walking on two legs felt normal.
After double-checking everything was alright, I opened the door, Sam standing there expectantly leaning against one of the tables.
"Why, hello," he drawled, accentuating the 'oh' sound.
"It's nice to finally meet my patient's other half. It's a bit strange that you've been staying here for a few weeks and we still don't know your name."
I smiled at that.
"Simon."

Chiro Near Me – Exploring the Health Issues That Can Be Treated with Chiropractic Care
Tumblr media
As we navigate through the daily stresses in our lives, it's essential to adopt holistic approaches to maintain wellness in both the physical and mental aspects of our well-being. One such treatment is the chiropractic care. It's important to understand the significance of visiting the chiro near me and the role of chiropractors in achieving optimal wellness.
Chiropractic care is an alternative treatment that is focused on diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. This therapeutic approach improves the body’s ability to heal itself without the use of any surgery or drugs. It is primarily achieved through the manual manipulation of the spine or any other parts of the body.
In this article, let’s explore the various health issues that can be treated with the right chiropractic care.
Chiropractic Care:
Chiropractic care is an alternative treatment that has a belief in a proper alignment of the body’s musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine. This will enable the body to heal itself without any medication or surgery.
The chiropractors are the experts who are trained and experienced in this holistic approach to treatment. Chiropractors use the hands-on approach of spinal manipulation and other treatments along with the adjustment to restore the mobility of the joints which is restricted by the injury of the tissue. This tissue injury can be due to any accident, trauma, or repetitive stress. By correcting the alignment issues, the experts will aim to reduce the pain, improve functionality, and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Health issues that can be treated with chiropractic care by visiting the chiro near me:
Back Pain – Back pain is one of the common health issues when people can seek chiropractic care. Since the lower back pain leads to discomfort in carrying out the daily tasks, it will lead to disability. Hence chiropractors will use the spinal adjustment technique to relieve the pressure on the nervous system, improve the spinal function, and reduce the inflammation. A proper treatment from the chiro near me will help in alleviating the chronic and acute back pain which will provide significant relief for the individuals.
Neck Pain – Neck pain often results from any injury, stress, or mainly poor posture. This is another common health issue that is treated by chiropractors. Cervical manipulation is the technique that will help in improving neck mobility, reducing muscle tension, and also alleviating pain. Some research has also shown that chiropractic care is more effective for neck pain than other medical treatments such as physical therapy or painkillers.
Headaches and Migraines – Migraines and tension headaches will be unbearable and are often linked to spinal misalignments and muscle tension in the upper back and neck. The chiropractic adjustments combined with the best lifestyle changes will significantly reduce the frequency and severity of headaches. Simple posture correction and ergonomics will help in reducing the headaches. Chiropractors address the underlying causes of headaches to help individuals achieve long-term relief.
Sciatica – It is characterized by the pain which radiates along with the sciatic nerve. This nerve runs down both legs from the lower back. This condition is often caused by the bone spur pressing on the nerve or herniated disc. The chiropractic adjustment will help in relieving the pressure on this nerve which helps in the reduction of pain and improving function. Many individuals report a significant improvement in their pain following the chiropractic treatment.
Whiplash and other Injuries – It is a common injury that is caused following a car accident involving the sudden movement of the head. This results in neck strain and restricts movement. Chiropractors will treat the whiplash through spinal adjustment, rehabilitation exercises, and muscle relaxation techniques. Also, proper chiropractic care will be beneficial for other injuries such as sports injuries, and injuries from repetitive motion, and reduce the pain. This treatment will promote faster recovery and prevent chronic pain.
Joint Pain – Though chiropractic care mainly focuses on spinal issues, it is also an effective option for joint pain. Chiropractors use a combination of manual therapies, nutritional advice, and exercises to manage the symptoms and improve joint function. by addressing the root causes of joint dysfunction and inflammation, chiropractic care will enhance the quality of life of many individuals.
Digestive Issues – The nervous system plays an important role in regulating the digestive system. The misalignment in the spine will interfere with the nerve signals and will potentially lead to digestive issues such as constipation, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome. The chiropractic adjustment will help restore the proper nerve function and improve digestive health.
When Is It Safe to Stop Your Visit to Chiro Near Me?
Typically it is safe to stop the chiropractic treatment when your condition has been treated or when the expert says it is safe to stop the treatment. The treatment can also be stopped if the chiropractor recommends a maintenance program rather than the regular treatment.
But like any other medical care, you should continue receiving the treatment prescribed to you until the doctor says it is safe to stop the treatment. But make sure not to stop it on your own. It's important to remember that caring for the body properly after the treatment will help in feeling healthy and make the body function well.
The chiropractic treatment can also be stopped if you are not experiencing any benefits, do not feel any gradual improvement or there is an increase in your pain level. If you experience any of these, then you should inform the chiropractor immediately and they will suggest an alternative treatment which will aid your recovery.
