Hey, hold on… This guy…. This guy struck him oddly, vague familiarity sinking it’s fingers into the skull. The ❛ i’ve seen you around at some point in recent times ❜ kind and not the ❛ you share some facial features with a likely ancestor of yours ❜ sense, though a mite of that mixed into the sensation skittering along the edges of the mind too. It’s enough to halt personal campaign and draw the captain up short during the trek of busy midday streets in front of the young man, fingers raising to grip chin in thought, focused scrutiny of a blank stare leveled directly at the face.

Ten seconds trickled by. A number that swiftly ticked into twenty, ninety, a full one hundred and eighty-six spent rummaging through the cavernous void of recently acquired memories. He knew he’s seen him somewhere before— There. Underneath the warm first breeze of first meetings and the mist of quick getaways, teetering on the precipice of being lost entirely. It’s dug up, dust brushed off, reexamined before something finally clicked in place. Startling to life again, Meliodas adjusted the worn rope strapped around his torso so the almost empty sack didn’t pitch towards the ground and spill few remaining contents, then he bopped a fist into an open palm. ❝ Ah ! You’re that fellow from the ❛ ear of the mountain dog ❜ knighthood, right ? The one who fell off the cliff. ❞ Forgive the insensitivity of speaking the title alone. He didn’t think he ever caught this guy’s name in the ensuing chaos so it’s the best he’s got as reference. ❝ Still alive and working towards being a proper knight, huh ? ❞ That’s the assumption at least, though the other’s overall visage and outward mannerisms appeared to have received some alterations compared to last time, armaments disparate compared to the shoddy, run of the mill trainee gear all beginners got saddled with, the way he held himself a touch different… a darker tinge to the air surrounding him.

A twitch of the lips crept onto his blank expression, a short hum teasing the back of his throat. ❝ Now now, that alone is worth celebrating, yeah ? Consider this a little gift ! ❞ He shrugged off the sack, thrusting the sack into the guy’s hands, an eclectic assortment of baked muffins and chocolates hidden within. Down the last batch of sweets, he was running out of people to give them out to that wouldn’t suddenly find they had something calling their attention, discovered they weren’t hungry at all, felt too sick to eat, or just in general held a half-decent sense of ❛ self preservation ❜ that overcame the genuine allure of his perfectly designed cooking ! ❝ I guarantee you'll get a kick out of whatever flavor you try out. ❞
