To my American mutuals, good luck. Your healthcare system is really fucked up, and I’m sorry. There isn’t much I can do, though, as I’m not American, don’t live there, and don’t have a vote.
I will say that America’s notorious (lack of) healthcare system is costing it its best and brightest. My dentist is American, immigrated about 5 years ago. Her husband is a professor at UBC, hard sciences. He moved to UBC from an Ivy League American university because he and his wife desperately wanted to get the fuck out of the States. One of their kids has a chronic illness, and even with the good healthcare plans of a dentist and a professor at an Ivy League university, it was costing them a lot. Also, they moved here during the Trump administration, enough said. My dentist is not a Trump fan.
My dentist’s husband is on the bleeding edge of research. UBC got him and his wife and kids into Canada by proving to Immigratiob, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that there was literally no Canadian academic with the same skill set. The process of hiring him took a year, because IRCC needed extensive documentation from UBC that they couldn’t give this job to anyone who already had Canadian citizenship. UBC persevered because they wanted him so badly. In fact, they were in a pitched battle with another Canadian university that was also trying to hire him.
So, I’m guessing, unless my dentist is bragging, that her husband is a VERY smart American. And his wife is a dentist, so clearly they’re both very smart. Assets to Canada, and currently on a path to citizenship. And they left America, on a permanent basis, because of the lack of universal healthcare in their own country.
Dentist’s husband is no longer doing cutting edge research in an Ivy League American university lab, he’s doing it in the lab of a Canadian public university. And yeah, UBC is a good university. But he was still moving to a less prestigious university and a less bountifully-funded lab, because it’s in Canada, and we have universal healthcare. I doubt he’s the only one.

Smiling Again: A Deep Dive into Refugee Dental Services in Mississauga
Dental care is a basic component of health, but it is sometimes disregarded—especially among underprivileged groups like refugees. Many refugees arrive in a foreign nation with severe dental problems, usually aggravated by their stress and suffering. Refugee Dental Services, which seek to restore not only oral health but also the dignity and confidence of persons who have left their home nations, are becoming increasingly important in Mississauga.
The Importance of Dental Care for Refugees
A refugee's path is full of difficulties, and dental health is not normally a top concern during such times. However, bad oral health can cause major psychological as well as physical problems. Refugee Dental Servicesᅠaddresses these problems so that refugees may start their new life in Canada with less load. Dental treatments for refugees are about restoring life, one smile at a time, not only about filling cavities or removing teeth.
Obstacles Refugees Experience Getting Dental Treatment
Getting dental treatment in Mississauga might be intimidating for many refugees. Language hurdles, ignorance of the healthcare system, and financial restrictions often prevent individuals from seeking the help they require by offering reasonably priced, culturally relevant treatment. Mississauga's Refugee Dental Services helped to close this disparity. These services are meant to meet the particular requirements of refugees so that they may get the whole treatment required to recover their oral condition.
The Role of Community Support in Refugee Dental Care
Effective provision of Refugee Dental Services depends on community participation. Mississauga local dentistry clinics and companies are volunteering their knowledge and tools. These clinics guarantee that dental treatment is available to every refugee, regardless of background or financial situation, by working with healthcare providers and refugee assistance organizations. Along with enhancing refugees' physical condition, this cooperation helps them to feel supported and a part of their new home.
Refugee Dental Service in Mississauga: A Beacon of Hope
For many immigrants looking for a fresh beginning, Mississauga has grown to be a ray of hope. Refugee Dental Service in Mississauga is evidence of the city's dedication to compassion and diversity. These services give migrants a sense of stability and routine in their sometimes hectic life, not only dental treatment. Early dental treatment helps immigrants prevent more major health difficulties on the road, therefore allowing them to fit more naturally into their new environment.
Overcoming Barriers to Care
The requirement of increasing knowledge among refugees about the availability of these treatments is one of the main obstacles the Refugee Dental Service in Mississauga seeks to overcome. Many of the refugees should be informed that they qualify for free or heavily subsidized dental treatment. By means of community partnerships and outreach initiatives, Mississauga's dental treatments aim to educate refugees about their rights and the tools at their disposal, so guaranteeing that none falls through the gaps.
The Future of Refugee Dental Services
With continuous attempts to increase services and enhance accessibility, Refugee Dental Service in Mississaugaᅠseems to have a bright future. The demand for dental treatments will keep rising as more refugees choose Mississauga as their residence. Meeting this demand will depend mostly on the dedication of local dentists and the help of society. If resources and education are kept under constant investment, the future promises better smiles and better living for every refugee.
Conclusion
Refugee Dental Services in Mississauga is a lifeline for those who have gone through terrible suffering, not only a medical treatment. These treatments enable refugees to fully embrace their new life by restoring dental health, therefore enabling their confidence and dignity. Visit eglintonoak.ca to read more about the great work being done and see the daily changes these services are producing.

Industries With The Highest Growth Rates For Migrants To Canada
The economy of Canada is renowned for being strong and steady. Following the pandemic, the nation saw a robust recovery in several industries, with many of them experiencing significant growth.
The high immigration goals of Canada are one of the main drivers of the nation's sustained economic prosperity. By the end of 2025, Canada will welcome 500,000 immigrants annually, according to the Immigration Levels Plan 2023–2025.
Nearly 25% of the more than 39,000,000 individuals who call Canada home identify as immigrants. In Canada, newcomers frequently arrive prepared to fill labor shortages brought on either by a significant number of retirements or a dearth of suitable applicants.
Healthcare
Compared to past generations, Canadians are living longer and needing more medical care. The provinces of Canada are putting a lot of effort into luring foreign healthcare personnel because of the rising need. Currently, 39% of dentists, 23% of registered nurses, and over 35% of physicians practice in Canada.
Tumblr media
The healthcare sector has the biggest overall number of open opportunities, at 143,800 as of February 2023, according to the most recent statistics on job openings from Statistics Canada. The pandemic had a particularly negative impact on the nursing industry, forcing many nurses to take extended leaves of absence or abandon the field entirely.
In order to make it simpler for healthcare professionals to become permanent residents, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has begun lifting some of the restrictions for doctors who were previously regarded as self-employed. Typically, self-employed professions are ineligible for Express Entry.
Agriculture
Over 243,000 people are employed in Canada's agriculture industry, and there are currently 14,000 or more open positions.
According to recent research by the Royal Bank of Canada, 40% of Canadian farm proprietors will retire by 2033. According to the report, Canada needs to welcome 30,000 permanent immigrants over the course of the next ten years in order to start their own farms and greenhouses or take over those that already exist in order to address a short-term skills shortage.
IRCC just stated that it is extending the Agri-Food Pilot Programme and lifting occupational caps in order to fill some of these roles. Jobs that qualify include:
Wholesale Butchers
Commercial Butchers
Agricultural Managers And Skilled Livestock Workers
Work Force In The Food Industry
Farm Assesses In General
Workers In The Harvest
Tech
The federal budget for 2023 included a $20 billion investment to promote the construction of significant clean electricity and clean growth infrastructure projects. The tech industry will probably see an increase in demand as a result of this investment.
It also points out that many jobs in the clean technology manufacturing sector do not require a university degree and that the average worker salary in this industry was $90,252 in 2021, which was significantly higher than the average salary for all jobs in Canada's economy, which was $69,311.
The expansion of the AI industry contributes to Canada's need for IT personnel. According to Invest in Canada, a government website created to entice investment into Canada's IT sector, there are 1,032 AI and machine learning startups in Canada. The Global AI Index is another.

A full-time course leading to a Bachelor's degree or higher (RFQ level 6, 7, or 8), or…
A full-time undergraduate degree or above (RFQ level 6,7, or 8) equivalent to a UK higher education course, which is offered as part of a longer program in another overseas country, or…
A part-time course leading to qualification above graduate level (RFQ level 7 or above), such as a UK Masters's degree, or…
A full-time course that allows you to obtain a qualification below degree level (RFQ level 3, 4, or 5) with at least fifteen hours per week of day study, or…
An English language course at level B2 or higher, or…
An accredited postgraduate foundation program for doctors or dentists.
If you want, you can also study an academic or training course in conjunction with an English course.

Have your parent's permission if you are not yet of legal age.

"Hello Everyone, My name is Sarah and I’m currently trying to raise money for the dentist and get my tooth fixed. My tooth suddenly chipped off over a year ago and at the time I was hoping my status in Canada would have been finalized by the end of last year so I could start saving up. Unfortunately, this is not the case and I most likely will have to go to court. In the meantime my tooth has rotten, at times it can get very painful and bleed because of the exposed gum. I'm worried that it could potentially spread to other parts and I also haven’t visited the dentist in 4yrs (because of the lack of funds).
I'll need help to pay $370-500 for the new patient exam and consultation (depending on which dentist will take me ASAP). The two dental surgeries I know I’ll need are tooth extractions(if they can’t save my tooth) and a dental implant. The price for the dental procedure alone may vary from ~ $600-1.2k+ ~ because I’ll need to see a dentist first for an exact diagnosis so there might be additional costs.
I’d ideally resolve these issues myself but since I can’t work here nor go back (an international round trip is expensive plus I have no insurance anywhere) I’m just stuck. I’ve been fixing my issue with immigration(until the decision of my status is concluded, I can’t apply for aid in this country at all and I have to stay until my court date and my issues get resolved hopefully).
I have pictures below of how it looks like.
Anything helps please donate and share,
thank you ☺️"
