Caliper Painting Near Me: Customising Your Car’s Appearance with Style
Tumblr media
For car enthusiasts, every detail matters, and one area that often gets overlooked is the brake calipers. However, caliper painting near me offers an easy and affordable way to enhance the look of your vehicle while also providing a layer of protection. In this blog, we’ll explore the benefits of caliper painting, the options available for custom colours, and why finding a local service provider is essential for a professional finish.
1. Why Should You Paint Your Calipers?
1.1 Aesthetic Appeal
One of the most popular reasons for painting brake calipers is to improve the aesthetic appeal of your car. Whether you want to match your calipers to the colour of your car or create a striking contrast, custom-painted calipers can transform your vehicle’s look.
1.2 Protection from Corrosion
Brake calipers are exposed to heat, moisture, and road debris, which can lead to rust and corrosion over time. High-quality brake caliper paint creates a protective barrier that helps prevent rust and prolongs the life of your calipers.
1.3 Easy Maintenance
Painted calipers are easier to clean than unpainted ones. The paint prevents dirt and grime from sticking to the surface, making it simpler to maintain the appearance of your vehicle’s brake system.
2. Choosing the Right Colour for Your Calipers
2.1 Matching the Car’s Paint
Many car owners opt for colours that complement or match their car’s paint job. Whether you have a sleek black car or a vibrant red one, a matching caliper colour can create a cohesive, stylish appearance.
2.2 Bold and Unique Colours
For a more dramatic effect, consider choosing a contrasting colour for your calipers. Bright colours like red, yellow, or blue can make a bold statement and add a custom touch to your car’s look.
2.3 Metallic and Gloss Finishes
If you’re looking for a more sophisticated appearance, metallic and gloss finishes are a popular choice. These finishes catch the light and give the calipers a sleek, polished look.
3. The Process of Caliper Painting
3.1 Preparation of the Calipers
Before painting, the calipers must be cleaned thoroughly to remove dirt, rust, and brake dust. Any old paint is also stripped away to ensure that the new coat adheres properly.
3.2 Application of Primer
A high-quality primer is applied to the calipers to ensure that the paint sticks and provides a long-lasting finish. The primer also helps prevent rust and corrosion.
3.3 Painting the Calipers
The paint is then applied in multiple coats to ensure an even, smooth finish. After painting, the calipers are left to dry and cure before being reinstalled on the car.
4. Finding a Caliper Painting Service Near You
4.1 Researching Local Providers
When searching for caliper painting near me, it’s important to find a reputable service provider who offers high-quality paint and professional application. Research local workshops or body shops in your area, and check customer reviews to find a trusted provider.
4.2 Asking About the Process and Materials
Ensure that the service provider uses high-quality, heat-resistant paint specifically designed for brake calipers. You should also inquire about the process they follow, including any preparation work and curing times.
4.3 Comparing Prices
While the cost of caliper painting varies depending on the service provider, it’s essential to get quotes from a few local shops to ensure you're getting competitive pricing for the quality of service offered.
Conclusion
Caliper painting near me is an excellent way to customise your car and give it a fresh, unique look. Not only does it enhance the aesthetics, but it also provides additional protection for the brake system. Whether you opt for a custom colour or a classic metallic finish, painted calipers can make your car stand out. Choose a reliable local service provider to ensure a professional and long-lasting finish.

Edging
Summary: You've been teasing Rodimus for 2 hours now, he deserves some release.
Pairing: Rodimus/Reader
Fandom: IDW Transformers
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No warnings
Tags: Edging, Overload Denial, Light BDSM Themes, Rodimus goes into Subspace
"B-babe, please, l-let me- please-"
Rodimus begged. He wasn't quite sobbing, but the fluid in his optics let you know that you needed to wrap up the scene soon. You hummed with false sincerity, carefully moving your hips around and causing Rodimus's vents to shudder, the tip of his spike grinding against the entrance of your valve.
"Alright, you've been a good boy- 10 seconds. Go."
The chronometer was set, and Rodimus immediately slammed his hips against yours, frantically thrusting into you with desperation. Biting your lip to keep you moans at bay, you silently counted down, each thrust hitting you right in the ceiling node with a delicious slap. Until...
"Time's up, Roddy."
The whine, Primus, the whine Rodimus emitted as he quickly stopped halfway thrusting was so satisfying. He looked at you with wide, wet, pleading optics. His voice was heavy with static as he began to beg.
"Please, pl-please, just- just 5 more seconds, I'm so-"
"You know the rules. Pull out, tip only."
This time, Rodimus did sob as he slowly, tortuously pulled out till only the tip remained inside. He shuttered his optics close, coolant tears now freely falling. You could smell the faint wisp of smoke that was beginning to emanate from his engine, a clear sign that Rodimus had been played with enough.
“You’re such a good boy, Roddy. Aren’t you?”
“Y-yes, yes, I-I am, I just-”
“And I think you deserve to be… rewarded for your behaviour.”
The near puppy dog pleading optics Rodimus gave you could shatter the strongest of wills, not helping the big, fat tears sliding down his cheek plates. It had taken you two hours to get to this point, a new record.
“Go on, then. Go.”
If not giving him a time limit hadn’t clued him in, you wrapping your legs around his hips told him something clear- he was allowed to finally, finally overload. His face broke into an excited smile, his bright blue optics shining brilliantly.
He clung onto you, holding you close as he cried for joy. Each thrust was short and quick, he didn’t want to draw this out any longer. He had one, singular goal in his processor- overload. Each thrust was accompanied with a metallic clang and wet slapping noise that echoed around the room. You were most definitely going to have to buff out some lovely paint transfers.
“F-fuck! Oh fuck, you feel so good!”
Rodimus groaned out, almost deliriously. His exhaust pipes on his arms were beginning to splutter more smoke, loud revving noises coming from his engine. Your calipers clenched tightly on his spike, drawing out a loud, throaty shout.
“Fuck!”
With a final cry, Rodimus slammed his hips against yours, flames bursting from his exhaust pipes. A whimper leaving his lips as warmth bloomed into your gestational tank. Rodimus all but collapsed on top of you, exventing deeply. Tears streaked down his faceplate, his optics looked dazed, far off. In subspace.
“You were such a good boy, Roddy- so splendid, you did so well.”
You softly cooed into his audials, bringing your servo to his face to gently wipe his tears away. After a scene or any extreme interface session really, Rodimus’ aftercare involved a lot of gentle affirmation, telling him he did wonderful. He nodded, a small smile tugging at his lip. His voice was filled with static again, but softer.
“Y-yeah?”
“You were so good.”
Leaning in, you gave him a kiss on his opticbrow. He looked at you with a distant look, his processor would be barely running and it’d be hard for him to think, to vocalise his thoughts. You knew from experience. His optic brow furrowed, his smile dipping into a small frown.
“You- you didn’t-”
Smiling, you cupped his cheek with your servo gently to stop him from finishing. He blinked, staring at you with dazed optics.
“It’s fine. I wanted to get you off. This was all about you.”
You spoke with a soft voice, comforting, easing his worries. Kissing his cheek softly, you pulled away, gasping at the feeling of Rodimus’ spike being pulled out of you and blushing as his transfluid slowly seeped out.
“Let me look after you, Roddy. You deserve it.”

Enhance Your Ride with the Perfect Car Alloy Wheel Paint
Your car's alloy wheels are more than just functional components; they're a statement of style and personality. Whether you're looking to refresh the appearance of your wheels or want to protect them from corrosion, choosing the right car alloy wheel paint is essential. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the world of car alloy wheel paint, helping you make an informed decision to enhance your ride's aesthetics and longevity.
Tumblr media
Why Paint Your Alloy Wheels
Your alloy wheels are exposed to harsh environmental factors, including road salt, debris, and UV rays, which can cause them to lose their shine and develop corrosion. Painting your alloy wheels not only adds a touch of style but also provides a protective barrier against these elements. Moreover, it allows you to personalize your vehicle and make it stand out from the crowd.
Choosing the Right Paint
Selecting the appropriate paint for your alloy wheels is crucial for a successful project. Consider the following factors:
Paint Type: You can choose between spray paint, brush-on paint, or even powder coating. Spray paint provides a smooth finish, while powder coating offers durability.
Color: Opt for a color that complements your vehicle's overall aesthetic. You can go for a classic silver, black, or explore custom colors for a unique look.
Quality: Invest in high-quality wheel paint to ensure longevity and resistance to chipping, fading, and corrosion.
Preparing Your Wheels
Proper preparation is the key to a successful wheel painting project. Start by cleaning your wheels thoroughly to remove dirt, grime, and old paint. Sand the surface to create a smooth base for the paint to adhere to. If there are any dents or scratches, consider using a filler to level the surface. Finally, apply a primer to enhance paint adhesion and protect against corrosion.
The Painting Process
Follow these steps for a flawless paint job:
Masking: Cover areas you don't want to paint, such as the tire and valve stem.
Spraying: Apply thin, even coats of paint, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. Use a steady hand and maintain a consistent distance to avoid drips.
Drying: Let the paint cure for the recommended time to ensure a durable finish.
Caring for Painted Wheels
After painting your alloy wheels, it's essential to maintain them properly. Regularly clean your wheels with a mild detergent and a soft brush to remove brake dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the paint. Additionally, consider applying a wheel sealant or wax to provide extra protection against the elements.
Professional vs. DIY
While DIY wheel painting can be a rewarding project, it may not yield the same results as a professional job. Professionals have access to specialized equipment and expertise that can provide a flawless finish. If you want a showroom-quality result, consider taking your car to a professional wheel painting service.

I know it's been forever since you posted it but can I ask for a nsfw sequel to the Ratchet with a shy s/o fic?
You couldn’t remember now what you had said then. It must have been full of stuttering and muttering and not knowing at all what you were going to say next because you definitely don’t know what you said next.
But whatever it was, it got Ratchet into the berth with you. His servos delicately tracing your frame as if it were made of glass. You squeeze your thighs together, glancing away as his optics bore into you only for him to guide your chin and make you look at him as he uses his servos to open your legs.
“Is this all you wanted, sweetspark?” Ratchet asks, the back of his servo stroking the inside of your thigh plating. “If you just wanted a little fun in the berth, you could’ve just told me.”
You nod and look away again.
“I’m not going to do anything until you tell me what you want.” He leans over you, “I know you can use your words.”
“Can-” You stammer, “Can you frag me?” Your legs wrap loosely around his sides and he laughs. Scrap, is he laughing at you? Did you say something wrong or-
“Of course, love.” His servo falls on top of your pelvic plating, thumb stroking idly over your valve panel until you open it for him. He immediately leans back, spike already straining, needy for something to frag.
“Ratchet,” You sigh, biting your lip if only to prevent the wrong words from coming out. You don’t know what those words would be, but at the moment you don’t want to risk it.
His engine purrs as he slides into you, face flushing when he feels the warm embrace of your valve calipers around his spike. Your vocalizer lets out a squeak as he sets a gentle pace, nowhere near hard enough to cause any dents or paint transfers. Gentle and slow, but enough to have charge building in your system already. With a soft, static tinged cry of his name, you overload around him, squeezing down on his spike as lubricant welled up and dripped onto the berth.
You feel him pull out, and the distinct lack of transfuid filling you up. You look at him quizzically, only for him to respond,
“Oh no, sweetspark, we aren’t done.” He holds your thigh and lifts your leg to rest on his shoulder, “If you’d like, I would love to make up for all the times you were too scared to ask for this.”

Love your writing! Do you think you could do some tfp mega/orion pax nsfw? Im such a sucker for them pre-war 😩
Orion sat comfortably at the small desk Megatronus had found for him as he proofread the gladiator's latest speech.
Today Megatronus was fighting his first offworlder. It wasn't terribly uncommon for offworld mechs to test their mettle in the Pits of Kaon, but Megatronus had only just begun to fight in the upper leagues. He told Orion Pax that he intended to become champion, and Orion had faith that he would succeed. But offworlders in the upper leagues were incredibly dangerous. They had weapons and techniques that even Megatron had yet to encounter.
Normally, Orion insisted on attending such important fights. He couldn't bear to watch Megatronus get hurt. Each of his challengers were deadlier than the next and this offworlder, Killer-watt, would undoubtedly be a nasty fighter— he was a murderer and a snake, known for killing his opponents even in low-level fights.
But this time, Megatronus had asked him to instead begin helping him with his next speech. He insisted that it would be one of his most important ones yet and that Orion needn't worry about today's fight.
The archivist found it difficult to concentrate with the worry that consumed his processors, but he put his all into reading through Megatron's work.
It was full of wonderful, brilliant, world-changing ideas, just as much as his last ones had been. Orion's spark soared in joy as he sat down the datapad. Megatronus was an excellent writer and a revolutionary idealist, and Orion couldn't believe that he was the one who got to help him with his works.
He was finishing his final notes when the door to their suite pinged and two large mechs walked in.
"By the spires!" He shouted in surprise, "What is th- Megatronus? Are you alright?"
The gladiator was leaning heavily upon the frame of Breakdown, one of his brothers-in-arms as the mech gently deposited him onto the side of his berth, handed him a small package, and left.
"Megatronus! What happened? How badly are you hurt?" Orion asked, fretting over the gladiator's frame as laid down. The archivist could see a large, freshly-patched weld on the warrior's left leg and some savage denting along his right arm.
"I'm fine, Orion, though perhaps not in the best shape I've returned. The offworlder certainly proved a challenge. A challenge that I overcame, of course. Although perhaps at no small cost... I did not mean to alarm you, Orion. Knockout has informed me that it will take a few days for my nanites to repair my internal communicators."
"I am sorry that I wasn't there, Megatronus. I should have been. I-" the archivist said, trying to keep his voice calm and his optics clear.
"Don't worry about that, Orion. I asked you to stay home, remember? Did you get the chance to review my writings yet? It's alright if you didn't. I know you tend to worry."
"Of course," Orion said. "I wrote a few notes on my pad for you to check later. I think it will be a wonderful speech, Mega."
Megatronus smiled fondly up at him, but winced when he tried and failed to move his arm. Orion stepped closer and leaned down to kiss him instead.
"Would that I could hold you, my little archivist. You are a gift to me from Primus himself." He sighed miserably. "What I wouldn't give to have your touch. But know that your presence is more than enough, I promise you. I am glad to have you here with me, my love." He assured Orion fondly, giving him the safe, contented smile that the archivist knew was reserved for him and him alone.
"Well, Megatronus..." He began, "I can, I mean we could... If you were interested, maybe I could be the one to touch you?" He finished.
"Oh?" Megatronus asked, cocking an optic ridge at the unexpected offer. "And how might you do that, Pax?"
"W-well, I..."
"Don't explain it, Orion," he growled suddenly. "Show me."
Orion's fans kicked on at the dark excitement laced underneath the command. Either Orion would show him and go through with his idea, or Megatronus would likely risk re-injuring himself to find out.
The whole point of his idea was to prevent that, so he supposed he had no choice. He moved down the end of the berth and climbed up to straddle Megatron's hips.
"This doesn't hurt, does it?" He asked. He had to make sure.
"No, Orion, I'm fine," he said. "I'll tell you if anything hurts."
They both knew that to be a lie, but Orion took comfort in the fact that his hip and thigh plating appeared to be relatively uninjured. He just wouldn't be able to move around much.
"Open your panel?" Orion asked, already opening his own to reveal his own wet valve.
"Orion? Entertaining yourself without me?" Megatronus growled, engines revving as his interface panel shifted open and his spike pressurized between them.
"You left so early this morning, we didn't get a chance to finish what we were doing." Orion answered under the scrutiny of the warrior's optics, turning his head away as energon rushed to his face. "You just looked so handsome in your war paint, I-"
"A discussion for another time," Megatronus interrupted with another revv so fierce it threatened to knock Orion off of him. "Keep going. Please." He begged.
Orion quickly nodded and inched his hips forward— Primus, Megatronus never begged— steadying himself on Megatronus's uninjured waist before lining his valve up with the large spike and finally lowering himself down.
After they first began interfacing, it was a near painfully tight fit. Megatronus took great pleasure in teasing his calipers open, no matter how long it took.
It had paid off. The fit was still tight, but the stretch had become manageable enough that Megatronus no longer needed to worry about breaking him every time they interfaced. He could be harder, faster, rougher.
Now his calipers only twinged a little as each ring gave way to clutch around Megatronus's spike. In less than two kliks, he was fully seated against him.
"Orion, are you alright?" Megatronus asked through sharp, gritted dentae.
"Y-yes, I'm fine."
"Then move," the silver mech demanded with a small, impatient thrust of his hips. He hissed as obvious pain fired into his circuits.
"D-don't, I'll move." Orion promised. "Just hold still, please?" He asked, punctuating the request with the first roll of his hips.
They both groaned in unison. This was Orion's first time on top of Megatronus, and it was wonderful. He could control where and how the spike inside him moved as he raised and dropped his hips.
But this wasn't for him. Not this time.
This was for Megatronus.
He dropped down, bottoming out again and squeezing his calipers around the huge mech's frame. He began following a steady rythym: a few thrusts quick and hard, another set deep and slow and tight, but Orion found himself chasing his own overload before he knew it.
"Mega, Mega, so close-" Orion panted, scrabbling against the gladiator's paneling as he chanted the warrior's name again and again, riding him as fast and hard and he could manage. He had to make Mega overload first. He had to!
Then Megatronus's least damaged arm had managed to reach for him, a silent permission.
It wasn't the same like this, wasn't gentle touching and kissing and soft words, wasn't nearly as good as when Megatronus would come back from a good fight and frag him into the berth for hours until he cried for mercy.
It wasn't the same, but it was enough.
"Megatronus!" He cried, unable to stop his own overload. His calipers cycled down as charge skittered across their frames.
He felt Megatronus's claws on his thigh again, intending to pull him away. He pushed them off and started riding the mech again, drawing out a choked moan from the warrior as his valve began moving over him once again.
Blessedly, it didn't take much longer for Megatronus to reach his own overload. His vents roared as he shouted out Orion's name and fought to keep still against the calipers that clenched down on his spike as he filled the archivist with his transfluid.
Orion slid off of him, quickly closing his panels to prevent making any more of a mess on their berth as he made to get up.
Orion yelped when Megatronus grabbed him again with his less-damaged but still powerful arm and dropped him onto the berth beside him.
"You are too good to me, Orion," he said before pressing a kiss to the smaller mech's helm. "But just wait until I am recovered, my little archivist. I intend to pay you back tenfold."

By 9:30, 18 began to experience what most would call “worry”.
Every quarter hour she would stop, take a look around the floor and scan every human head for a sign of blue hair.
“Oh uh, she was in earlier this morning.  Around 7.”
“7 am. Huh.”  18 replied to the junior engineer, who was practically quaking in his boots over their interaction, “And then, she departed?”
“Looked to me like she logged in and then went somewhere else.  I mean, none of the bigwigs have been down looking for her, and I didn’t see anyone escorting her anywhere.  Maybe try the QA lab?  Or the heavy machinery shed?”
With a subtle twitch in her eye, 18 processed the Junior Engineer’s words, then turned without further chit chat and walked directly to the elevator.  QA Lab.  Underground level.
The QA lab was painted operation room green and was as dark and dank as an abandoned asylum.  There was something oddly familiar about it to 18, something in her distant past, something terrible, yet despite the unknown memories threatening to erupt she felt no apprehension—the feeling was more matter of fact, almost comforting.  It seemed more home like than the barren apartment she kept downtown with its white walls and neutral carpets.  At the end of the far hallway she could hear her desk partner grunting, cursing and swearing.  18 did not at all regret coming to QA.
“I thought you might be down here.”  18 said as she leaned against the doorway to the hanger at the far end of the lab, “What’s this?”
“My bike.  I’m making mods to it.  Could you hand me that caliper please?”  She said, holding her hand out beside her as she tuned the blades of the float.
18 picked up the fine precision instrument off of Bulma’s tool cart and handed it to her.  “What kind of mods?”
“So uhh . . . we’re friends, right?”  Bulma said, raising an eyebrow as she looked up to 18 from her squatting position near the bike’s engine.
    “Yeah.”
“I’m modding this bike . . . to catch the void.”
“To catch it?  You mean physically, with your hands?”
Bulma’s only answer was a glance upward.  She then turned her attention back to the bike, pinching each blade of the float with her calipers and recalibrating the balance.
“How do you know it’s something that can be caught?  What if it doesn’t have a corporeal body?  It could be a gas . . . or some sort of phantom as you once called it.  We’re still learning about all the others who came with the Namekians after the events on their planet.”
“I had another encounter with it last night . . .”

DEMO RIDE: 2019 Husqvarna Svartpilen & Vitpilen 401/701
Size does matter, and in this case, smaller is better.
Tumblr media
It’s no secret that Husqvarna’s dirt bikes and dual sports sell themselves. Touting a storied motocross/scramble history, it’s easy to see why the off-roaders are so popular with the public. On the other hand, the company hasn’t seen much success with its street-oriented lineup. With 2019s still occupying the showroom floor and the pressure of Q3 looming, Husky recently visited Azusa, California to jumpstart the sales of their Svartpilen & Vitpilen lines. Labeled the Real Street tour, the series of demo events featured both models in their 401 & 701 variations, casting a veritable spotlight on their often overlooked street bikes.
But the Svartpilen & Vitpilen aren’t afraid of the spotlight, you could even say they were crafted to bask in it. The first thing you’ll notice when you gaze at the Svartpilen & Vitpilen is the unconventional design. It’s not a stretch to say that the aesthetics of the lineup resemble something out of a Scandinavian furniture catalog. With minimal, flowing lines, the Svartpilen & Vitpilen would feel right at home with your Poäng and Klippan.
Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the neo-retro style aims directly at a younger, urban demographic that gravitate toward classic, simplistic forms with a utilitarian edge. Whether you fancy the looks of the bikes or not, you have to admit that the fit and finish is quite impressive. However, I do feel the designers tragically overlooked the speedometer, as its more akin to a gym teacher’s stopwatch than a proper gauge. Not to mention, the highly reflective glass and mounting angle make render the information illegible. Aside from the hideous - and quite useless - instrument cluster, the Svartpilen & Vitpilen reek of smart sophistication.
But I can see how that elevated design could be a barrier for potential buyers. Due to the refined, “Swedish” aesthetics, one could quickly distinguish these models from their intra-brand cousins, KTM’s Duke and Enduro. With hopes that the public will embrace these models the same vigor as they’ve taken to KTM’s lineups, Husky is just trying to get more booties in the saddle, and I’m more than happy to oblige.
Tumblr media
Sharing the motor of KTM’s 390 Duke and 690 Enduro R, Husky’s Svartpilen & Vitpilens benefit from two well-tested mills. Both engines push the boundaries of power that a single-cylinder engine should produce. Despite the lack of pistons to share the load, the vibrations on the 401 & 701 aren’t excessive (take that assessment with a grain of salt - I ride a Harley).
While the 701 delivers its power in a smooth, linear fashion, I found myself smitten with the 401′s punchiness. Glancing at the spec sheet, I noticed that the 701 reaches peak torque of 53 ft-lb @ 6,750 rpm with 75 hp topping out @ 8,500 rpm. Comparatively, the 401′s max torque (27 ft-lb) hits @ 6,800 rpm and horsepower (42 hp) @ 8,600 rpm. With about half the power and three-quarters of the weight of the 701, the 401 shouldn’t feel nearly as torquey. Additionally, both motors achieve max torque and horsepower at practically identical rpms, leaving me perplexed with my preference for the 401 - aside from the butt dyno.
No, I can’t support my fondness of the little thumper with cold hard data, but I can attest that the majority of the riders attending the demo agreed. I know anecdotal evidence is the least persuasive argument, but the 401 simply felt like a more agile from side-to-side and provided great acceleration in short bursts. And I may be rationalizing here, but those darting characteristics seemed appropriate for two models that translate to white arrow (Vitpilen) and black arrow (Svartpilen). The 701s weren’t bad motorcycles in the least, they just didn’t imbue the same excitement as they’re diminutive counterparts. Size does matter, and in this case, smaller is better.
Tumblr media
But the size variation didn’t stop at the engine. The differing braking systems on the bikes occupied two different build quality standards. Even with the 401′s “budget” brakes, both systems felt well-suited for their classes with adial-mounted Brembo clampers blessing the 701s and ByBre calipers getting the job done on the 401s.
Despite the fact that both models lack dual-discs, the calipers delivered a reassuring bite while riding in urban environments. Yes, an extra rotor and caliper up front would certainly push the models in a more performance direction but we didn’t take the Svartpilen or Vitpilen into the twisties and the stock brakes would suffice where most buyers would ride these bikes - in the city.
Tumblr media
When judging the two models on ergonomics, I kept their natural habitat - urban environments - in mind, as both maintain a fairly sporty position. Starting with the Vitpilen, I immediately noticed the aggressive, forward-leaning stance. Positioning my head directly over the front wheel, the Vitpilen made me want to slalom through mid-day traffic at full throttle. However, that state of mind prooved more enslaving than freeing. After all, I was on a demo tour. If “it’s better to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow,” nothing is worse than living that platitude in reverse. If you’re looking for a nimble, aggressive, lane-splitter, the Vitpilen has you covered, but make sure your journey is manageable, as I already felt the tension in my wrists by the time we returned from the short ride.
On the other hand, the Svartpilen utilizes high-rise bars to position the rider at ease. From the upright posture, I was content to stay in line and putt along at a legally acceptable speed. Sure, I tugged on the throttle from time to time, but the relaxed stance felt more conducive to congested road conditions. If the Vitpilen’s ergonomics equate to a Supersport, the Svartpilen would be it’s Naked/Standard counterpart. Both bikes are aimed at city-dwellers and while it would be a stretch to say that either of them let you stretch your legs out, neither of them feel cramped. Though I’d probably opt for the Svartpilen in most situations, if I were visiting one of the local canyons (GMR, HWY 39, etc), I’d certainly side with the Vitpilen.
Tumblr media
While the ergonomics shift the rider into different postures - and different states of mind - the road manners of the bikes are quite similar. With all models under 6 inches of travel, I could easily flat-foot each bike. Despite its smaller stature, the 401s benefited from the same WP 43mm inverted forks that graced the front end of the 701s. On the road, each bike was compliant and responded immediately to my every input. Particularly, the Vitpilen - with its clip-ons and head-down posture - reacted to every adjustment of my body.
Not only did the suspension allow the bikes to cut from side-to-side, it also made the 401s and 701s feel planted. From soaking up potholes to providing stable steering at speed, KTM’s proprietary suspenders highlighted how fun these machines can be. On the contrary, the lack of suspension travel on the Svartpilen did beg the question: couldn’t this model be much more fun? Aside from ergonomics and a few bits of design (paint mainly), how does the Svarpilen distinguish itself from the Vitpilen?
And that’s where I got to thinking about the lack of sales for these two models. After taking everything into consideration, it seems like Husqvarna’s “Real Street” motorcycles are going through an identity crisis. Are these bikes retro or performance? Can you consider a motorcycle “premium” (as the price would suggest) the dash looks more like a digital alarm clock and it doesn’t come with dual-disc brakes? But maybe it’s less of an identity crisis and more of a false identity. For instance, Husqvarna outfits the Svartpilen with dirt tracker styling yet they can’t endorse taking the low slung machine off-road. Even with the aesthetic hinting at dirt-capabilities, the Svartpilen is essentially a naked bike with knobbies.
Tumblr media
Broadcasting a false image can ensnare potential buyers - or it can turn them off (like it did for me). Intoxicated by the snappy acceleration of the 401, I actually looked into purchasing a Svartpilen following the demo. But the lack of off-road capability soon soured my initial enthusiasm. If it can’t hang in the brown, why outfit it with Pirelli Scorpions? Why adopt tracker design cues? What’s the point of making form decision if it’s contrary to the function? That disillusionment made me look at the Svartpilen & Vitpilen differently.
With an MSRP of $6,299 for the 401 and $11,999 for the 701, it’s easy to see why the KTM-owned brand is having problems moving units. Coupled with the unconventional design (which I actually love but can understand how some wouldn’t), Husqvarna has it’s work cut out. Along with the lackluster sales figures of the Svartpilen & Vitpilen, the Real Street Demo stop in Azusa failed to highlight the full capabilities of models. With the near highway miles away, riders were relegated to a jaunt around the block. As a result, I never got the gearbox past 3rd and that doesn’t instill much confidence in potential customers. The combination of disorganization, bikes-to-rider ratio, wait times, and early wrap-up, I’d venture to say that the demo barely moved the needle on these two bikes.
With all that said, if you’re looking for a stylish motorcycle to ride in the city, Husky’s street lineup may be a good option. The brand continues to promote their 0% APR (up to 48 months), so you may score a new Svartpilen or Vitpilen for a great price. For my intents, the bikes are too niche in design and too specialized in purpose, but that doesn’t mean they won’t work for you. I guess the best advice I can give to potential buyers is to test ride as many motorcycles as possible. I know I will be!

Photoshoot of the Week: December 30th 2019 - January 5th 2020 - Suzuki GSX-R750 & Miray
Tumblr media
Can you believe we are in a new decade? I couldn’t have imagined the year 2020 when I was a young boy. Do you remember all the movies that took place in the future and how futuristic 2020 was depicted? What about the flying cars and interstellar travels on exotic planets? We haven't gone near it so far: in a few days I'll have to take my motorbike to the repair shop, again! Anyway I don't mind at all: I believe that each and every day should be our main focus. When we do things from a place of feeling the way we want to feel, it all flows together with so much more ease. For me, my #1 goal this year was to continue the practice of strengthening my inner world – to feel joy and gratitude daily. To fully and completely feel it so deeply that happiness just oozed out of me in my relationships, in my work and in my blog, especially in these weekly posts for all of you. I’ve been working on my 2020 goals and I’m going to continue with last years intentions, which is adding goodness into my life, not setting resolutions on things I think I need to give up. But, as I decided a long time ago, there is always time for ridin' my motorbike, whether in my neighborhood or around the whole world, and that's what makes my life interesting, thus, worth living. I'm not personally interested in flying ships yet, and like the King sang I feel that 'there's so much world to see'. I think that many of you totally agree with me on this, and surely Turkish-German bikergirl and misterious socialite Miray endorses those words: you know, she never shows her face on Instagram but I bet there's a big fat shining smile ridin' around her Suzuki GSX-R750 behind that black HJC helmet! Why don't you show it to us? That smile will make all of us just walk on the moon! *** More than thirty years ago Suzuki GSX-R750's introduction revolutionized the sportbikes segment. Ever since then, the GSX-R750 has remained true to its original concept and championship-winning heritage. On the road or on the track, the GSX-R750 delivers a breathtaking combination of outstanding engine performance, crisp handling, compact size, and light weight. Its secret is an unequaled pairing of 750cc performance with the lightweight, compact chassis of a 600cc Supersport, complemented by technologically advanced suspension front and rear. The GSX-R750’s look was born and raised on the racetrack, and for its whole lifetime that styling has two new, dual-color paint schemes. Riders can choose the Glass Sparkle Black/Pearl Glacier White scheme that includes red bodywork graphics and striping on the black cast aluminum wheels. Also available is a scheme that blends a shiny and flat finish via Metallic Matter Black/Glass Sparkle Black bodywork that also includes red graphics and accents on black wheels. The GSX-R750’s fuel injected, 750cc, four-cylinder engine powers a balanced sportbike experience. This engine pulls strong off the bottom like a larger-displacement powerplant while it builds revs like a smaller mill – it’s the best of both worlds. The Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) lets the rider adjust the engine’s power delivery to suit the riding conditions. The twin-spar aluminum frame effectively connects the steering head with the swingarm pivot portion of the chassis in a way that balances light weight and strength. The engine is suspended below the frame to keep mass low and the wheelbase short to promote nimble handling. Compact 750cc, four-cylinder engine with a race-proven over-square bore/stroke ratio managed to produce a remarkably strong high rpm power delivery. The energy-efficient engine employs forged pistons, shot-peened connecting rods, chrome-nitride-coated upper compression and oil control rings, and pentagonal ventilation holes to reduce frictional and mechanical losses. Lightweight titanium alloy valves are controlled by single-coil valve springs to reduce valve-train mass, reducing mechanical losses at high rpm. Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection uses eight fine-spray eight-hole injectors for improved fuel atomization, which contributes to more complete combustion. An Engine Control Module (ECM) provides state-of-the-art engine management and has enhanced settings to suit the intake and exhaust systems, resulting in better fuel economy and linear throttle response. Advanced, MotoGP-developed transistorized ignition control programming helps maintain more precise spark timing across the range of engine speed and temperature. Four-into-one stainless steel exhaust system with a titanium muffler is fitted with a Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve that maximizes torque and improves throttle response, especially in the low- to mid-rpm range. Lightweight and compact twin-spar aluminum alloy frame is constructed of five cast sections to produce a balance of light weight and strength. The frame is mated with a cast aluminum swingarm and multi-piece rear sub-frame that’s ready for racetrack use. Race-developed, lightweight Showa Big Piston front Fork (BPF) delivers superb feedback and consistent performance. Single Showa rear shock features externally adjustable rebound and compression damping, along with adjustable ride height. Electronically controlled steering damper provides lighter steering at slower speeds and more damping force at racetrack and highway speeds. Front brakes with fully floating 310mm discs are grasped by radial-mount, four-piston Brembo Monobloc calipers. Three-spoke cast aluminum alloy wheels are shod with lightweight, high-grip front and rear tires for sharp handling. Three-way adjustable foot pegs, adjustable shift lever, and short fuel tank help compose a comfortable riding position that permits the rider movement required for performance riding. Compact, lightweight instrument cluster with a built-in lap timer/stopwatch and programmable engine rpm indicators to alert the rider to certain shift points. The GSX-R750 survived in several incarnations from its launch in 1985 all the way to 2016 before it was finally dropped from the Suzuki range. During its lifetime, the GSX-R750 had to see off competition from impressive rivals such as the Yamaha FZ750 and YZF-R7, Kawasaki ZXR750 and ZX-7R, the Ducati 749 and then a new generation of larger-capacity superbikes such as the FireBlade and Yamaha R1. The GSX-R was much lighter (thanks to its aluminium beam frame, a first for a mass-produced bike) than the FZ750 and its better looks and more futuristic design gave it the edge in the battle of the showrooms. The battle for middleweight supremacy waged on into the 90s and it took a serious overhaul for the Suzuki to respond to the Kawasaki ZXR750 and later ZX-7R models, but the GSX-R kept moving with the times and remains a brilliant choice of machine whether you’re a trackday addict or a road rider. #bikergirl #fastbikes #RidinGirlsBlog #racing #suzukigsxr750 #gsxr750 #gsxr #gixxerkidz #Suzuki #gsxr1000 #hjchelmets #biker #bikelife #bikersofinstagram #bikerfamily #bikergirl #motorrad #girlsonbikes #HJC #sportbike #sexybiker #Suzuki #GSX #gsxR #motard #moto #suzukigirl #bikerchick #bikerlady #motorbike #speed #roadracing #ridingsexy #girlswhoride #riderich #girlsonbikes #gsxr #suzukigsxr #motogp #moto #helmetporn

Drop of Satina: Day 2 - Misunderstandings
Tumblr media
Raphael Trevelyan belongs to @out-of-the-embers
1476 Words || Read on AO3
His name was Raphael Trevelyan, a fact that made Hannah incredibly irritable and prone to grumbling. She hated pretty noblemen on the best of days, so the fact that the entire village would not shut up about him made the past week particularly annoying.
“He’s so dreamy,” Flissa sighed with a slightly far-off look as she took away the last of the dishes from the midday rush. “And so tall… And have you seen him smile? So handsome.”
Hannah tried really hard not to roll her eyes so she focused on her cup of mead instead. This wasn’t the first time, nor the first woman, to wax poetic about the newly-arrived cousin to the Herald. There were plenty of rumors flying about, but outside of the Chantry the most popular topic of conversation was the man’s relationship status. Or lack thereof.
“I’m sure he enjoys using that smile to seduce many women willing to spread their legs for him,” she said with a shrug.
Flissa grimaced. “You don’t have to be so crude.”
“I’m surrounded by assholes all day. I call it self-defense,” Hannah ground out. She leaned in and lowered her voice, “You want to know what that swine Wardell said to me today? He had the gall to tell me that I got an Inquisition post because I did sexual favors for the Commander. On my knees, to be specific.”
Flissa gasped. “He did not!”
“And when I loudly protested, he pretended like I’m an emotional female who’s being terribly dramatic. I had to leave before I jabbed him with my caliper.”
Master Wardell had become a pain in Hannah’s ass the moment he got hired by the Inquisition to help with the workload and lend his reputation to the engineers already working there. Unfortunately, he was an older man who didn’t see women as equally capable creatures and his continuous harassment made working a real chore some days. On those days, Hannah started drinking early.
“I’m sorry that happened to you,” Flissa said sympathetically. “More mead?”
“Yes, please.”
The alcohol hummed pleasantly in her veins, though it did little to improve her mood. Flissa was not the greatest conversationalist available, but none of the usual crew was free to keep her company. Perhaps once she finished her cup, she could go bother Krem or Rylen.
The door on the other side of the tavern opened and in came Raphael Trevelyan, caring a dead ram on his shoulders while a large bunch of herbs swung from his belt at the hip. Flissa immediately lit up and turned to attend to him, ignoring Hannah and her quiet groan of annoyance.
“Raphael!” she exclaimed. “How was the hunt?”
The tops of his ears colored a little, but the smile he gave Flissa was radiant. Suddenly Hannah understood why this man had become so popular with the ladies and vowed to herself not to fall for his charms. It would help if she could continue to avoid him, but her cup was nowhere near empty so she couldn’t leave just yet.
“I’m surprised how plentiful the game is in these parts,” he explained in his pleasantly raspy voice. “I had no trouble tracking or killing the ram. I can definitely continue providing you with meat, if you need it. I also found some rosemary and thyme to season your meals.”
“Thank you. You are Maker-sent,” Flissa said and pointed him towards the door behind the bar. “Just take it to the back room and leave it on the kitchen table. Me and my staff will take care of everything else.”
“Of course,” he replied.
Hannah tried her best not to stare after him, but he must have felt her eyes, because he turned in the door frame at the last second and immediately recognized her, his dark eyes brightening with a smile.
 Shit.
As he vanished in the back room, Hannah felt panic settle in her stomach - she somehow knew he’d soon return. Ever since she had learned who he was, she did her best to avoid him, because she also knew she had a weakness for men like Raphael Trevelyan: attractive, attentive, exciting - and willing to move on at a drop of a hat. She could tell he was interested in her, so she had made sure to stay as far away as possible. Unfortunately, she was still trying to down a cup of mead when he returned to the main bar area and moved to lean against the counter next to her.
“Fancy seeing you here,” he intoned while wearing single most approachable expression ever invented. “I’ve been meaning to properly introduce myself. I’m Raphael.”
Hannah pondered the merits of ignoring the outstretched hand and just running away, but the sheer rudeness of such an act went against her upbringing. She grasped his hand and briefly shook it.
“Hannah,” she said with a nod. “I remember you. Last time we met, you were casually lounging on some potatoes.”
The brilliant blush that rapidly painted his face shocked Hannah into staring at him. She wasn’t used to men who blushed. The last time she saw a blushing man she accidentally overheard the Herald inquire about Commander Cullen’s potential vows of chastity, and that was months ago.
“Not my finest moment,” Raphael admitted. “That’s what I get for trying to avoid a stampede of unruly children.”
Hannah chuckled.
“Yeah, they can be a handful sometimes. But they’re good kids, if you properly direct their energy.”
“I’m sure they’re learning loads of fun things, with a teacher like yourself,” he said with a grin.
Hannah frowned. “A teacher?” she asked and then the thought clarified in her head. “Oh! No no no. Teaching children is not my responsibility; that’s Sister Hilda’s job. I occasionally babysit them when there’s nobody else available to make sure nothing horrible happens to them. It usually involves snowball fights and endless games of tag.”
It was his turn to frown. “Oh, I didn’t realize… Sorry! What do you do, then?”
“I’m a part of the engineering team. I design bridges, watchtowers, and the like.”
And the moment of truth had arrived. Hannah watched as Raphael’s brain computed the information she had given him, only to reach a conclusion she knew was coming. When the words finally came out of his mouth, it was almost a relief to hear them.
“I didn’t know women did engineering work.”
To his credit, at least he wasn’t belligerent towards her and didn’t immediately try to invalidate her existence the way Master Wardell usually did. Still, she lost any remaining desire to finish her cup of mead, so she hopped off her stool and gathered her things.
“And yet here I am, defying all expectation,” she bit out. “Pissing off men who feel like I don’t belong.”
He became defensive at once. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
“Sure you didn’t,” she deadpanned. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Flissa silently signalling her to stop talking, but Hannah had had enough for the day. Perhaps she shouldn’t have chugged all that mead this early in the day, but either way she looked at it, she was done with men and their shenanigans. “Sorry, I’m suddenly not in the mood for a casual conversation. Perhaps you should find Lady Montilyet - she’s much better at appealing to the whimsies of big lords like yourself.”
Raphael’s entire countenance shifted at once, a flash of hurt brightening his eyes before cold fury transformed his handsome features into an angry mask; he was no longer leaning or acting casual.
“I’m not a lord,” he bit out slowly. “Or a part of nobility. I’m simply a man and you’re being unfair to me.”
"Oh, but you are a lord,” she said. “The name 'Trevelyan' trails after you like a particularly bad fart, making it miserable for the rest of us. The Chantry already educated the entire village on how lovely your family is. You won’t fool me.”
She stopped, feeling dizzy. The mead had been stronger than she anticipated and it hit her harder than it should have. The entire situation was getting ridiculous anyway, and beyond saving, so she quickly swiped a hand over her face and turned to go.
“You know what? Forget it,” she said. “I’ll leave before I get in trouble for sassing a noble and you can go on and have yourself a fantastic rest of the day.”
If Raphael had anything else to say, it stayed firmly shut behind his clenched jaw as he glared at Hannah with intense anger. She briefly wondered if she should stay and rile him up into arguing more, but she promptly abandoned the thought. This just wasn’t her day. She left the tavern, hoping to get as far away from the man as she could.
