Wikipedia lists it as endemic to New South Wales, but this is a painting from one I found in Victoria, Australia.

White Orchid
Caladenia cracens (Elegant caladenia) is a small white and dark pink spider orchid, quite common around the foothills of Mt Wellington in light bush and scrub on dry hillsides and ridges. Flowering from early-mid October through November, it has a single narrow hairy leaf and usually one flower but occasionally two. (Best photos I had to hand - ya gal is mostly housebound nowadays (and doesn't drive), plus the first two aren't native where I live now, but where I grew up... well, Geraldton wax also isn't native here, but it's a widespread weed that's native further north. But all my photos except for Moodjar [credited])
What's everyone's favourite flowers that aren't like. The normal ones. Like everyone's a fan of roses and sunflowers what's a more niche one. One you don't get in gift sets. Mine's sweet peas

Pink fingers orchid, Caladenia carnea
Another super common orchid in my area - these little guys are tiny and I almost always find them right next to sundews, which are local carnivorous plants. We find them in white, pale pink, and intense pink, which feels like different subspecies.

#1686 - Caladenia paludosa - Swamp Spider Orchid
Tumblr media
This one was in the Ambergate Reserve, which fits since the species is only found in dense scrub that is swampy in winter. Another SW endemic, growing over a wider area between Gingin and Gracetown, but flowering late in the season for Spider Orchids.
