In honor of Rosinante’s birthday, I’ll be posting all the CabbageRosi ideas I came up with these past months ٩(^‿^)۶

#7 🌶️ I had an idea for a host club AU, so exciting to me that I want to write it! Rosi is a 40 year old virgin who often spends the allowance his brother gives him on hosts and he really likes Cavendish, so he decided to ||hire him to take his virginity, but feels very bad about it, but not bad enough to not go through with it.

#8 Sometimes I remember that the thing I found most appealing about the ship between Cavendish and Rosinante is that I can make them Little Prince themed. Cavendish IS a prince and Rosinante can be his rose. If I want to have them align with the characters from the book better, I could also switch them: Rosinante can be the little prince and Cavendish can be his beautiful rose.

#9 Do you ever think Luffy would get confused and misunderstand when Rosinante tells him he likes the food cabbage and set him up in a date with Cavendish.

Rosinante: I like cabbage.

Luffy: Eeh? Why? Oh, well. No worries, I’ll arrange something! I’ll get you Cabbage!

#10 I just know Law explained to Rosinante why dish soap is bad for the face, but he continues using it anyway to Cavendish’s horror.

Rosinante: *Washed his face with dish soap*

Cavendish: ...I can fix him! (delusional)

#11 I like to think that Rosinante likes Cavendish because he’s like a prince from a fairy tale. He’s very nobel, has good morals and can be very kind and Rosinante secretly craves to be a princess. Cavendish likes Rosinante because he reminds him of a horse and because he’s secretly a big fan who hypes him up. Cavendish can’t escape the appeal of a dedicated great fan! He carries Rosinante princess style the way he did Law. Rosinante supports him with his mental health struggles.

#12 There are 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac cycle. The Chinese zodiac signs change annually. This means any zodiac animals years comes every 12 years. In a One Piece Chinese zodiac sign figurine series Cavendish represented the horse. And I strongly believe that if he lived in our world, his zodiac sign would be horse. Now, Cavendish is 26. If Rosinante hadn’t died, he’d be 39 now. Technically, this means, they are 13 years apart, but I like to imagine, they’re actually only 12 years apart because Cavendish is just about to turn 27. That way, they can both have the horse as their zodiac animal. It also fits way better with Rosinante, since he’s named after a fictional horse.

#13 Law’s poor mental health might make him shower only once every 7-30 days, but Cavendish believes that he can fix him for Rosinante.

“I can make him go blond and curl his hair… I’ll put powder on him if it’s the last thing I do!”

#14 There’s this joke otome game called my horse prince where you date a horse with a human face. And I like to imagine Cavendish would love the game and excitedly show it to Rosinante. And Rosinante just sits there trying to seem equally as excited, as he desperately tries to come up with anything nice to say about the game.

“that’s very… um… interesting! Very, uh… nice, great! Yeah, yeah, no, I totally love it too. Play it as well? Um… I actually have to help Law with-, I mean it’s late-, I have to get to work! Next time! I’ll play it next time. *trips and falls as he tries to run away*.

#15 Cavendish insists he’s Law’s dad now that he’s dating Rosinante.

Cavendish: Rosi is like your father-

Law: He’s not my father.

Cavendish: -and I’m dating him, which by extension makes me your father also!

Law: You are NOT my father.

Cavendish: Let’s go on father-son field trip!

Law: No!

Cavendish: I bought us matching outfits.

Law: No.

Cavendish: Young man, I think it’s quite rude you don’t call me “father”. That’s very disrespectful!

Law: Because you’re not my “father”! We’re the SAME age!

Cavendish at Rosinante: …our son is being difficult.

# 16 Please picture Rosinante grabbing all the cabbage at the store… including Cavendish.

#17 When it comes to sleepwear, Cavendish wears fluffy plush slippers and a cute white nightshirt with long sleeves and lots and lots of ruffles. He even wears very beautiful silk or organza robes on top of his nightshirt on colder days. Rosinante wears a white wifebeater with mystery stains, a pair of heart boxers and only one sock because he lost the other on his way to bed.

#18 🌶️ I did multiple alpha/omega/beta quizzes for Rosinante and Cavendish. The results were Rosinante is a beta and Cavendish is an alpha. Do with that what you will.

#19 I often think about idol Cavendish and his manager Rosinante who’s secretly also his biggest fan and has his walls plastered with posters of him, It’s a nice image.

#20 I also like to picture an AU where Rosinante either has to or wants to learn how to ride a horse but is terribly scared of them. It’s on riding instructor Cavendish to help Rosinante.

#21 The last CabbageRosi idea I have for you is an AU where middle aged Rosinante, who’s balding, missing a tooth, covered in scars, yearns for Cavendish’s love from a distance. Thinking he’s not good enough to be loved by him, he resorts to dreaming of a different world where Cavendish wants him. Little does he know that he doesn’t need to dream of being loved because his feelings are already being reciprocated.

That’s all! These are ideas and prompts I came up with in the past few months and remember. I might’ve missed a few. I might make more posts in the future, but for Rosinante’s birthday this year: that’s all :3

#3 Thinking about how Law would react to Cavendish x Rosinante. I honestly don’t think he’d like that very much.

“I invite you into *my* house and you date *my* Cora-san?!” >:((

#4 Cavendish: I drew us!

Rosinante: That’s... that's a drawing of you...

Cavendish: It’s a drawing of me thinking of you.

#5 In Cavendish x Rosinante with baby Law AU, Cavendish would have beef with baby Law, he’d definitely beef with a baby.

He’d hold baby Law, poke his chest and make death threats because he suddenly has to share Rosinante’s attention with him.

He’d even try to get rid of him multiple times, I’m sure.

“Suleiman, throw him off the ship!”

“Captain… that’s a baby?”

“Throw him off the ship gently?”

They’d eventually figure this out, but for a while, I’m sure Cavendish would be the worst kind of parent Law could have. Let’s hope Rosinante watches over Law closely during that time…

#6 “Mon petite chou” is a French term of endearment for someone you love. “Chou” conveys the idea or being cute and round, but it literally translates to “cabbage”, so you could translate it as: “My little cabbage”.

Cavendish’s nickname is Cabbage.

Rosinante should call Cavendish his little cabbage.

Rosinante after coming home from Luffy’s birthday party: I met such a nice guy at the party. I kept stumbling and accidentally spilling my drinks and food on him and he didn’t even get mad. He just kept saying: “that’s alright, it happens to the best”. I thought that was really kind.

Cavendish coming home from Luffy’s birthday party covered in wine and pasta: I met a guy so enamored by my beauty, he’d stumble and spill his food and drinks every time our eyes met. It’s alright though. It happens to the best.

Cavendish is lying in bed with a cold.

Rosinante: I’ll make you tea and chicken soup!

Cavendish: -grabs his hand- No, don’t leave me!

Rosinante: I-I’ll be back.

Cavendish: I’m so cold. Everything hurts. I need you. You’re the only thing that makes me feel better. -gets all teary eyed- I’ll die, if you’re not here with me!

Rosinante: -turns bright red and immediately sits down on the bed- O-okay! Don’t worry, I’ll stay right here. I’ll… I’ll just ask Law to make tea and chicken soup!

Doffy at Law: Wasn’t he happily building Lego roses five minutes ago? Did he really suddenly get that sick?

Law: No, he definitely just made that up to avoid getting burned due to Cora-san accidentally spilling hot tea and soup all over him.
