He's old.

He is holding his phone with the tips of his fingers, hoping it wouldn't smudge the lens or the screen. His eyes narrowed, the bridge of his nose even wrinkled with his glasses tipping favorably on one side of his face. The silence was defeaning, along with the time that passes faster than the pace of his picture-taking but you couldn't mock him for the effort. Not when he bought the latest phone model for the sake of memories settled in his gallery; pictures of you dominating the albums he has made.

It is a weakness he had managed to succumb, knowing that his work wasn't kind to sentiments such as love. But he risks it, little by little, acknowledging that his life could be swept away in an instant.

So you continued to smile. The edges of your mouth strained, slightly, but you persist to not drop your composure regardless of the queue of tourists waiting for their turn for a picture of a historical statue.
