what gun(s) does W from Arknights use? :3
Might have to pass on this one. Unlike a lot of media, Arknights just straight up does not have an IMFDB page at all. Supposedly, according to the Fandom wiki, she is "seen" using a Mk 18 Mod 0 / CQBR (M4A1 based weapon) but also doesn't actually use it, instead using an entirely fictional grenade launcher that's supposedly based off of the M320, but it looks more like a Titanfall EVA-8 to me.

i know that riot gun is more popular choice but for the life of me, the one shotty u get in the village house looks way better on leon
also unpopular opinion but the second sniper rifle we get is also ugly af imo, i also would have liked the other assault gun were it using assault rifle ammo instead of literal sniper bullets how does that even make sense;------;
i think i would have preferred a more standard bolt action rifle with a barrel and a magazine instead of manual chamber reload

I don’t really mind either shotgun. I’m not sure if you mean more popular as in usage or general looks but a lot of people like the riot gun in regards to usage because it can hit from a farther range and still have the damage hit mostly for sure due to its tighter spread unlike the first shotgun, which requires you to risk getting closer to the enemy. (I’m assuming you mean the remake here but due to a glitch if I recall correctly this also applies to the OG)
I guess I can see the stingray being ugly or just meh in terms of looks. I will admit I overlook it due to bias as it carried me in the OG when I first played and trust me I was nowhere near as good as I am now lol would be nice to have some design mods for it though
I don’t know that much about ammo specifications but I assume that since the CQBR is technically a rifle based weapon they just made it use the rifle ammo since it would be a really confusing system to add a separate ammo type just for that one weapon. And I also assume they wanted to avoid doing that this time because the hand cannon also uses the same magnum ammo.
I am stupidly biased about the first rifle though anon sorry lol I really love the reload animation and sound on that one way too much. There’s a reason why it’s the one you see almost every playthrough in my pictures.

What are your thoughts on direct impingement vs gas piston rifles?
Do all the extra parts and costs and the higher weight really trade off for a better gun?
I have not owned a piston rifle, so my opinion doesn't count much, but I don't see them ever overtaking DI rifles.
Most AR-18-based designs are either hard to find because they're not imported anymore, or if they're made here they're mostly overpriced and overhyped. MCX and SCAR especially. A foldable stock looks very cool, and being able to fire while folded is neat... except why would you ever need to do that with how much it ruins recoil control and accuracy?
The 416 is good, at least with H&K you're often getting something for your money, but you're buying a premium rifle that's more front-heavy, heavier overall, and has stronger recoil than the alternative for... arguably better reliability in extreme conditions over something that's already pretty proven reliable, and it plays nicer with suppressors which *also* add a lot of weight at the muzzle. When DI rifles can now be had with AGBs, adjustable BCGs, EZTune gas tubes, and gas-busting charging handles, and flow-through cans are potentially going to become much more popular in the future, I don't really see the point anymore. Less so if a can won't be living on it full-time.
The only piston AR in my wishlist now is a BRN-180SH upper. 10", 300BLK, relatively well-priced, and the gas system has an "off" setting so you can take suppressed shots with no port-pop, like a bolt-action. Could be a really quiet set-up that switches to a capable CQBR with a mag-change from subs to supers and a flick of a switch.

Cosplay Project - Ready or Not
Been a little radio silent lately, so I’m touching base with what I’ve been working on for the past couple of months.
More deets under the cut!
I’ve partnered up with my friend from the previous cosplay I posted (MW: Ghost & Price, my friend was Price) alongside a few more people to put together a group cosplay for Ready or Not.
For the unaware, Ready or Not is a tactical FPS in which you play as the leader of a SWAT team responding to a series of high risk calls, ranging from warrant services, active shooters, counter-terrorism activities, robberies, etc. While you do get points for clearing and neutralising all threats, you get more points and better ranks & rewards for not employing lethal force (by using pepper spray, tasers, gas, and other non/less lethal means available in the game)

"Shit." Four failed attempts to communicate with command later and Bertha finally gives up.
She is supposed to be waiting around, but not for an unknown amount of time. Things really did get messy. The medic looks at her companion and goes over the string of events that have fucked her:
Alpha team needed a medic and Bertha agreed. The mission was going well enough until they bumped into the UBCS. She didn't bother listening when HUNK and Mikhail- she got as far as hearing the name and walked away under the pretense of checking up on the status of the other USS members- spoke. It was about the weather, she gleaned that much. Neither team expected the sudden, freak temperature drop or the gusts of wind or rain becoming sleet and finally snow. Both teams were recalled, both missions put on hold.
The main issue was transportation. Alpha team was dropped in via helicopter. Extraction was grounded by the weather. The mercenaries had ground transport that could- in theory- handle the terrain in the icy conditions, but it couldn't take them all. Negotiations started contentious, then became rushed as the weather deteriorated and somehow they came to an agreement. One member of each group left to wait until they can be picked up. Bertha doesn't know how Olivera was chosen. She knows perfectly well that she was tossed out without much consideration; medic or not, she's Delta, not Alpha. Expendable.
All attempts at getting an ETA on their extraction have failed. Bertha heaves a sigh and drops her fans away from her ear piece. She looks at the other expendable.
"We are stuck here. There is no telling whether or not the power will hold in this weather." The lights in the old, yet only recently abandoned, research outpost the two teams happened across each other in flicker as if emphasizing her point. "May as well pass the time. So-" she makes a vague gesture at him, "-what are you packing? CQBR?" She's not good at this small talk business.

Finally encountered the first regenerator in the RE4 remake. I immediately mag dumped into him with the CQBR rifle (essentially an M4 carbine) and fucked his shit up without any trouble. I decided to exit without saving to see if I can drop him in fewer than 20 rounds plus I kinda want to record video of that first encounter so I can play that Hell Naw song.

Tacticool gets Falloutified
Overhauling the most popular MK18 on the market. (Introduction n' first chapter)
Introduction
In 2020, Hyper and his crew releases the MK18 CQBR. A step up from the Service Rifle Archetype compared to the RU556 and F4NV's Service Rifle with a wide variety of custom works, animations, and high-quality-ness- albeit on the tacticool side, it was a very content rich alternative that most people would put on in their modernized playthroughs.
In the course of the MK18's History, a Mod Author named Sailent Phantom would go on to make Armory Projects for various weapons. A compilation of more attachments and aftermarket parts for various weapons, one being the MCX Series of Rifles, and the MK18. Which became so popular infact, that last year, Phantom releases the MK18 1000 Year Empire. The Definitive Edition of the MK18 Series, that provides you with at least a significant amount of high quality attachments and extras to effectively extend the MK18 into a M4/M16/AR15 Platform Weapon Mod.
Also in that same course, there has been various overhaul to the various AR15/Service Platforms for some time- but apart from the Attachment Overhaul not a lot aiming for the vanillafied experience of the now near most modular rifle in the Nexus Market. Today will be the day that is changed.
As now, I will be showing the process of how I overhauled the MK18 to become a effectively better, yet expansive Assault Rifle Replacer and then some.
1.) Getting Started
So the first steps basically involves additional polish work. And you're probably asking yourself what kind of polish work.
In the original MK18 Mod with the 1000 Year Empire Addon, there's additional receiver variants that the MK18 includes on top of what is already in there.
The Default MK18/M4/M16A4 Platform
The Retro M16A2/CAR15 Platform
The "MEGA-15" Platform [designed by MEGA Arms]
The PUNISHER-15 Platform [MEGA Arms but with Punisher themed decorations]
and the Noveske Platform [By Noveske Rifleworks]
The upside is that there is a variety of receiver options that help with asthetic needs.
The downside is that it is broad. Way too broad.
All Receivers fall under the category of one weapon. One group- with the small exception of the PUNISHER-15, You essentially had the opportunity to swap any receiver however you see fit. Which leads to some funny, yet sometimes painfully cursed combinations and options you can choose form.
Now to some, this certainly would not be much of a hassle. But for others, you can't help but imagine or think of the idea that there would be a better way to organize the receivers while enjoying that same amount of content. One set of news, I am the latter. Better set of news, I made a solution.
One of the focal point changes regarding this is silo'd out weapons. Rifles that will share roughly the same amount of attachments and modularity, but now all receivers are now separated into technically four different rifles to choose from. Falling under one flag of stats that has a compilation of Pros and Cons, and in F3/NV/4 Fashion all receiving renames, reallocation, simplified fun. As now the final product will provide the following weapons to you:
Surplus Rifle
Assault Rifle
ATEC Assault Rifle
ATEC Assault Carbine
These four will now serve as the new focal points of both mods of the new unofficial update I will be cranking out later, and for this section, we will be talking about all four of then and what they will be doing now with the changes I provided to them.
Surplus Rifle (M16A2)
"M16A1 Rifle. The chief rifle used by the US army during the middle part of the 20th century. Composed of durable aluminum alloy and hardy plastic." - Fallout Tactics Description of the M16A1 Rifle in-game
+ Range dominant - Lack of modularity
The M16(A2) makes a return to the Commonwealth, a little bit as it was, alongside sporting some new colors and new metals. This rifle will be the plain and simplistic. Almost as it was in its Fallout: Tactics Counterpart.
You will be able to swap barrels and handguards, but only at rifle length (18" & 20") & Handguards are only limited to it's vintage market parts. Stocks are openly available on top of grips, but you will be unable to modify sights in any shape or form. In Fallout: Tactics fashion, receivers will have semi and burst fire at the ready thanks to the T6M Burst Fire Framework.
The Surplus Rifle was designed with the true to form older Fallout Titles in mind. No worries about sights, or fancy's. Simply a rifle ready to accomplish the task of any marksman.
Assault Rifle (MK18/M4)
"A chief Carbine predecessor to the M16 Series. Available in higher modularity with a price of being available in carbine length."
+ Higher Modularity - Carbine length only
The M4/MK18- what has been deemed as the popular choice of the Assault Rifle, will now serve as the default Assault Rifle for the Commonwealth.
Despite the compact profiling, the M4 will essentially be the next step up towards the MK18, and is best described as a weapon progression loosely akin to the path of New Vegas's. Sights are now available, and you will have access to a little more "barrel" attachment & the works, all at the cost of only having to pick from Carbine style handguards.
ATEC Assault Rifle (MEGA-15/PUNISHER-15)
"An Army Test & Evaluation Center rendition of the famous M4 Carbine. With an even wider array of parts to pick and choose from, multi-caliber capabilities, it is still the standardized Assault Rifle known and loved with the price of heavier weight."
+ Even higher modularity + Multi-Caliber + Full utilization of Fallout 4's customization system - Heavier weight - Harder to come by... at least through conventional wastelanders.
This rendition, is for those who want the most out of their AR-15 iteration with Fallout 4's custom works. You will now have a wide array of barrel options to choose from. Ranging from standardized, to light, to ported, combat iterations and many more.
The MEGA-15 will also be the only weapon in this update that will support multi-caliber magazines. The Blackout and SOCOM Magazines (both will be covered in a future chapter) will be available through the MEGA-15, not only broadening and making the MEGA-15 the rifle that will utilize all of Fallout 4's weapon system. At the cost of a heavier weight compared to the other rifles.
The PUNISHER-15, albeit a entirely different weapon will be huddled together with the MEGA-15 rifle series. And only through the MEGA-15 that we will cover in a later chapter.
ATEC Assault Carbine (Noveske-15)
"The logical answer to the success of the Army Test & Evaluation Center's Assault Rifle. It's Assault Carbine variant did not see much in the way of additional improvements, it excels in rapid fire situations with lighter weight, with difficult controllability."
+ Fastest firing iteration of the Assault Series - Automatic Only - Restricted to only one Handguard - 5.56 Vanilla Submachine Gun
This is essentially what the likes of the Surplus Rifle would be in ATEC format, just flipped around and something smaller, faster. The rifle will be permanently automatic with methods to make it so akin to CodeBlackCrash's Submachine Gun Improvements. You will still have a availability with sights, and the sort, just with no ability to swap handguards.
In the original release of the MK18 1k Empire Addon, the Noveske had only access to a Noveske branded charging handle, a handguard that is only available in 10", and receivers both in Semi and Auto. Because the Surplus Rifle had availability in Semi & Burst, the M4 in semi & Auto alongside the MEGA-15, having another weapon with all available receivers made it feel way too redundant. So the best bet was to make it into a Automatic only. In technicality, the Surplus Rifle would be considered a perma-Semi given its old/new purpose. And it would also feel just as redundant having only two perma-semis. So it was only fair to give the Noveske the opportunity to serve as a 5.56 based SMG. A part of this was made with the intention of presenting utilization of the vanilla 5.56 ammo based automatic alternative, while after providing marksman based renditions with the other four rifles. It is lighter than the other platforms, but with harder controllability, while also being the fastest firing AR-15 Iteration in the series.
