Very first impressions of the Holosun LS321G:
Haven’t actually shot with it yet, so take everything for what you will. Just first impressions from handling, mounting, and fiddling with it.
Very tall. Sits high off the rail, almost-but-not-quite obstructing the irons. This is good and bad, it’s fairly narrow which allows me to mount my light in my preferred ~1-2 o’clock position. It only just clears, but the Cloud Defensive Rein is a big light, a 3/600 scout body would have more clearance.
Laser and IR projector are all grouped and slaved together, which is nice. Makes zeroing easier since it can be done in daylight. There’s a focus knob for the illuminator on the rear of the body, which is a nice location. The selector knob sucks, it’s stiff and squishy simultaneously, difficult to adjust quickly and with a weak detent, so it’s harder to tell when you’re flipping through settings in the dark.
The fire button is great. Fenced, textured, stiff and tactile. Shockingly good, which is funny because the included tape switch is dogshit. Squishy and cheap and bad. Will be replacing with a Unity Hotbutton soon. The fire button is on the left side, so it’s definitely more intended for right handed shooters, although I can reach it when swapped, even though it’s around my light. I’m 6’5” with proportionally big hands though, so take that with a grain of salt.
Haven’t zeroed it yet, so i can’t speak to the adjustment turrets. Everything I’ve read online indicates it’s fairly robust and holds zero without too much issue, but again no first hand experience.
The illumination is solid for a civie legal laser, and clearly illuminated out on a dark, cloudy night about 100 yards up my driveway. Focus and ambient conditions obviously will impact this.
Overall it seems like a solid unit for the price, and will likely have a permanent home on a backup rifle or my MP5. It’ll do for now on this rifle, although I think I’ll still be hunting for another option long term.
TLDR pros - built well, great fire button, slaved vis/ir/illum, form factor
Cons - form factor, squishy controls, lousy mount, it’s a Holosun

NEWSLETTERS JOIN LOG IN JOIN EXCLUSIVE CONTENT MY ACCOUNT LOG OUT CHEAT SHEET POLITICS ENTERTAINMENT WORLD NEWS HALF FULL CULTURE U.S. NEWS TECH SCIENCE SCOUTED TRAVEL ‘VERY FORTHCOMING’ Trump Team Wants You to See the Iran Nuke Documents Obama’s Kept From View Unclassified documents have been kept in ultra-secure facilities usually used for top secret materials. They could come out in January. Tim Mak 12.05.16 1:00 AM ET DOMINICK REUTER/Getty The private files outlining hidden agreements in the Iran nuclear deal may be released in one of President Donald Trump’s first actions in office. Senior officials who will be part of the Trump administration are already discussing what so-far-unseen information about the Iran agreement they will be able to make public after January, according to an individual who has participated in those conversations. Releasing Iran nuclear deal documents would be cheered on by hawkish lawmakers who have opposed the agreement, and bolstered by cabinet appointees who have long called for transparency about it. Michael Flynn, who has been tapped for national security adviser, and Mike Pompeo, who has been picked for CIA director, have both long been bullish on providing transparency on internal information regarding Iran. “My guess is that they will be very forthcoming,” a grinning Sen. Bob Corker, the chairman of the foreign relations committee who has been named a potential candidate for Trump’s secretary of state, told The Daily Beast. “They’ll be more than desirous in ensuring that’s the case.” The release of these documents echo President Obama’s early decision to release the legal justification approving the CIA’s interrogation program during President George W. Bush’s tenure, in the sense that the incoming administration wants to release potentially embarrassing documents in hopes of turning the page on the last administration’s actions. In the case of the Iran nuclear deal, there are many unclassified documents that have been held by the Obama administration in tightly-controlled security environments that effectively make it impossible for the public to see them. ”The American people know the Iran deal is bad. I can tell you it’s even worse than most people think. The Obama Administration has long known its position is indefensible, so they’ve chosen to hide unclassified documents from the public,” said Rep. Peter Roskam, an Illinois Republican and an Iran deal critic. “If this information is not classified, it should be made available to the public.” To keep them out of public view, these documents have been held throughout the U.S. Capitol complex in Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facilities, or SCIFs, which are built to shield top secret information. State Department protocol requires these documents can only be viewed by lawmakers and Congressional staff with a certain level of security clearance—even though they are unclassified. The Trump administration could soon release three sets of Iran-related documents which have been stored in this manner. Because they are not classified, they would not need to go through a rigorous and lengthy declassification process. One group is 17 unclassified documents related to the Iran nuclear agreement, including a projection of how Iran’s nuclear research and development could progress over time, and letters between various foreign ministers and Secretary of State John Kerry. The second group includes documents signed by senior State Department official Brett McGurk, outlining the terms of a much-criticized prisoner swap in which four Americans were released in prison in exchange for the transfer of $1.7 billion in cash to Iran—a deal that Trump himself lambasted frequently during the presidential campaign. And the third group includes documents outlining the “secret” exemptions to the nuclear deal that Iran was allowed. These exemptions were approved by a joint commission created by the deal to oversee its implementation. All three sets of documents are unclassified, a senior Republican Senate aide said. Emails reviewed by The Daily Beast showed that despite this fact, a confidential clearance was required to see the McGurk documents and a secret classification was required to view the joint commission documents in the Congressional SCIFs. “The Obama administration didn’t want wide readership and wanted to create hurdles for Congressional staff to see it,” said a senior GOP Congressional aide. “I hope when President Trump comes to office, he makes the Obama administration the most transparent in history. Because they have not been transparent.” The Trump transition team did not respond to a request for comment. But a State Department official outlined the Obama administration’s rationale for not publicizing the “sensitive information” in these documents. Some of the file could have an effect on ongoing litigation, while others include closely-guarded information from the IAEA, the official said, adding, “we have transmitted relevant documents to Congress in a fashion that both protects sensitive information while giving all members the ability to review them… Disclosure of this information beyond members of Congress and staff could adversely affect the diplomatic relations of the United States.” But the possibility of these documents being released to the public has united longtime critics of both Trump and the Iran nuclear agreement. Hidden but unclassified Iranian nuclear deal documents “ought to be released,” Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez told The Daily Beast Thursday. Added Republican Sen. John McCain later, “Everything should be made public. I support that effort. Everything should be made clear to the American people.” READ THIS LIST Trump Diehards Create a Yelp for MAGA-Friendly Restaurants WILL SOMMER Ethiopian Airlines Crash: Is New Boeing Jet Unsafe? These Trump fans want to know. Will Sommer 03.09.19 9:41 PM ET Everywhere they look, Donald Trump’s supporters feel like they’re under attack. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant; Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was chased out of another. Right-wing media outlets are filled with stories of liberals pulling off “Make America Great Again” hats. Trump supporters have even come up with a term for this phenomenon that has them feeling under siege: “MAGAphobia.” Now, in a move reminiscent of the “Green Book” guide that listed safe establishments for African-American motorists in the South, hyper-vigilant Trump supporters are trying to build their own guide to MAGA-friendly businesses. SPOILED DINNER DSA: We’re Coming After More Trump Officials Kelly Weill Trump supporters who want to grab dinner but are terrified of getting punched by an antifascist “antifa” activist can pull up the app, “63red Safe,” and find a list of Trump-friendly businesses—or at least ones that don’t discriminate against conservatives. “I'm trying to position it as an everyday 'where can I go eat safely' app,” Scott Wallace, the app’s founder, told The Daily Beast. 63red Safe works like a conservative Yelp. Instead of reviewing the lighting and ambience, though, the site’s users rate restaurants and other businesses on a series of four questions, including whether the restaurant’s owners make political social-media posts and whether they allow customers to carry weapons. RELATED IN POLITICS Trump Falsely Claims Beto O’Rourke Counter Rally Was Tiny The Case for Primarying Donald Trump From the Right Trump Defends Fox's Honor After Democrats Spurn Debate There “Does this business serve persons of every political belief?” the app’s questions read. “Will this business protect its customers if they are attacked for political reasons?” Wallace, who compares the app to a political “fire inspector,” is confident that the app will grow more popular as 2020 approaches. That’s when, he claims, more Trump supporters will be targeted by what he calls “socialist goon squads,” and businesses will become more interested in protecting their customers over their politics. “I believe that, between now and 2020, we’re going to see the rise of the socialist goon squad,” Wallace said. “I think antifa was nothing compared between now and what’s coming in 2020. And I’m deeply concerned.” Wallace says 63red Safe is less about finding pro-Trump businesses, and more about letting conservatives know if they’re in a business that opposes their politics. “If they’re not political, they’re safe,” Wallace said. 63red Safe has garnered 5,000 reviews since launching earlier this month—a solid start, but hardly enough to cover every hungry Trump supporter’s restaurant needs. The app is part of a larger network of apps that have launched under the “63red” name, including a chat app and a news aggregator that Wallace says has roughly 100,000 monthly users. It’s not entirely explained how 63red Safe’s reviewers get their information. Some businesses have earned reviewers’ ire and the “not safe” tag for obvious reasons. Lexington, Va.’s Red Hen restaurant, for example, is listed as “unsafe” on the app after asking Sanders to leave last year. But other ratings on the app are less obvious. A number of Oklahoma City pizzerias have been rated, but it’s not clear why one pizza place is rated as “not safe” and another as “safe.” Aside from the “safe” or “not safe” rulings, the app doesn’t offer any explanation for why one business is safe and another not. Wallace is aware that 63red’s apps face long odds of success. Alternative social media networks for Trump supporters and conservatives have struggled with extremist content or a shortage of users. “Donald Date,” a pro-Trump dating site, launched last year and immediately leaked its members’ data. “We’re committed. This is not yet another a Trump dating site,” Wallace said. “This is not yet another social network.” Viral news stories aside, it’s not clear whether Trump supporters are really so targeted in public that they need an app to tell them where they’ll be safe. Hate crimes have gone up in Trump’s presidency, but the majority of those attacks were related to race, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity, not politics. Wallace, who claims his apps will help conservatives organize ahead of the 2020 election, compares 63red Safe to a fire extinguisher. You don’t always need it, but when you do, you really need it. “When it counts it can become very important to know beforehand,” Wallace said. RSI Comm-Link: Q&A: Tumbril Cyclone
Q&A: Tumbril Cyclone
Greetings Citizens!
Since the introduction of the Hull Series back in April 2015, every new concept ship reveal has had an accompanying Q&A post, where we spend a couple days collecting questions from you, pass those on to the relevant ship designer, and provide you the best answers we have available at that time.
With the addition of Spectrum earlier this year, we can now allow you to add your vote to the questions you most want to see answered. The questions included below are a combination of those that received the most votes, similar questions that were merged into a single instance, and those we felt we could comfortably answer at this stage in the Tumbril Cyclone’s life.
As the Cyclone is only in concept stage, there are still some unanswered questions we’re currently pursuing in development. As the game continues to be fleshed out, those missing answers will be determined and implemented. While it will still be some time before we see the Tumbril Cyclone in game, we hope you’re as excited as we are as the game expands with the addition of another ground-based vehicle to the Star Citizen universe.
As always, a special thanks to Stephen Hosmer, Ben Lesnick and Steven Kam for their help in answering your questions.
Let’s get to it. -DL
[/segment]
What ships will the Tumbril Cyclone fit into?
The concept model is currently sitting at 5.71m x 3.25m x 2.26m, but as with everything in Star Citizen, its size is subject to change as it is built out and implemented in game. At present, this makes the Cyclone smaller than an Ursa Rover but larger than a Dragonfly or Nox. Our current intention is that anything that fits an Ursa will fit the Cyclone, including the Constellation. For ships like the Cutlass and Freelancer, it may technically fit in their cargo bays, but because the ramps are tapered, a Cyclone would likely not be able to load up into it.
Are the Cyclone variants “modular?” Can we just swap the boxes out on the base model to make the variants?
While this system is not currently available in game, it is something we’re interested in exploring once that time comes. When the Cyclone is added to the game, we expect them to function as variants for the time being.
How much cargo can it carry?
Currently, the base version of the Cyclone is set to carry 1 SCU of cargo.
What can be picked up by the Cyclone RN’s scanner? People? Buildings? Derelicts? Loot? Ships?
As with all scanner systems in the game, it will pick up anything with a detectable signature, such as IR or EM. The difficulty of picking up that signal will depend on the item’s output and your equipment. It wouldn’t tell you if there’s a derelict or loot around the corner, but it should be able to tell you that there’s a large structure in the distance and it’s up to you to decide if you want to go check it out.
That said, the RN’s upgraded radar system will have a longer range and better detection capabilities than the standard Cyclone, along with data banks to store a larger amount of scanned data to help with the mapping of a planet’s surface.
How fast can the Cyclone and its variants go and how do they compare to the Ursa and Lynx rovers in terms of speed and acceleration?
We don’t have specific numbers yet, as the Cyclone is still in concept, and this will come with game balance and tuning, but it should be faster in speed and acceleration than the Ursa. We’re aiming for it to be about twice as fast as an Ursa and the RC version will be even faster than that when boosting.
Will it launch with 3.0?
The Cyclone will not launch with 3.0. Backers with a Cyclone on their account will receive an Ursa loner vehicle until the buggies are completed in a future 3.x patch.
Can a Cyclone end up on its side or roof? If so, how do we right the vehicle post-accident?
The Cyclone features jump-jet thrusters meant to stabilize the vehicle when it becomes airborne. These will attempt to correct any deviation in the vehicle and provide a softer landing. Despite this, it is possible that your Cyclone could find itself flipped, turned upside down. Should this happen, we recommend you take a minute to sit right there, tell everyone how you became the prince of a town called Bel-Air… and then get out and lift.
Is more protection for the exposed driver being considered for the combat versions, or will a cockpit shot be a one-hit kill?
The Cyclone is equipped with vehicle shields to protect the occupants from enemy fire. More info on these shields will come when the Cyclone is implemented in game.
What are the pros and cons of the Cyclone compared to other land vehicles when it comes to terrain, handling, speed, utility, and combat?
The Cyclone is meant to be in the middle of the road between the Ursa and the Nox. The Ursa is slow and sturdy, and the Nox is fast but less rugged. The Cyclone aims to strike a favorable balance with a tough vehicle that also can’t be discounted in the speed department.
Additionally, it should handle most any terrain using its articulated treads to increase its grip. The Cyclone has four-wheel steering which gives it better stability while maneuvering at high speeds and a decreased turning radius at low speeds. Of course, its utility and combat effectiveness will depend on the skill of the driver, and the version you bring with you.
Will the co-pilot of the cyclone be able to shoot their personal weapons while seated?
This is functionality we intend to add to the game. We have no ETA for this feature at this time.
Is the Cyclone protected by a shield?
Yes. Details on the shield are included in a previous answer.
Can the Cyclone pull a trailer?
Currently there are no plans to implement trailers in the game. If this changes in the future, the Cyclone would be an appropriate candidate for hauling one around.
Can we re-arm missiles in Anti-Aircraft variants in field conditions?
The missile racks are the same racks already in use on ships and thus would need to be re-armed in the same way. We’ll have more details on how that functionality will work when the time comes.
Can the hubs inside the wheels move from the bottom we’ve seen in pictures to the top to give more ground clearance?
Unfortunately, no. At present, we have no plans to add any functionality like this, but the articulated treads can be deployed to increase traction at the cost of speed.
The Cyclone being a wheeled vehicle and all, will it have less of a detectable sig vs. a hover bike like a Dragonfly or Nox?
The Cyclone uses similar Vehicle-class parts as the Dragonfly and Nox, making its EM signature very similar, while it’s IR signature should be significantly reduced as it is not equipped with as many thrusters and Grav-Levs that can run hot if not managed properly. Then again, if you’re racing around and pushing the Cyclone to its limits, you may get noticed.

CYC
The baseline model of the Cyclone features an open flatbed in the back where cargo pieces can be safely secured and transported, making it a perfect transport for homesteads or as a short-range vehicle for planetary deliveries.
CYC-TR
Designed for militia and security use, the Cyclone TR module features upgraded armor and a single Human-operated turret capable of mounting a Size 1 weapon and a responsive 360° field of fire.
CYC-RC
For those who like to push the limits of speed, the Cyclone RC features a modified intake system to allow for controlled bursts of speed as well as tools to customize handling.
CYC-RN
Stay mobile and aware with the Cyclone RN. This light reconnaissance vehicle is the perfect solution for scouting runs, providing fast and detailed scans of terrain as well as beacon placement.

I have been a photography hobbyist for a while and for some reason, I have resisted investing on a filter system for a long time. I keep saying to myself that I only shoot landscape occasionally, I travel to the beach only once a year so seascape shots are also rare for me and more importantly, I kept saying to myself that a filter system (the good ones) are expensive.
But more and more I noticed that when the opportunity for me to shoot landscapes or seascapes presents itself, I often go home with results that are “just nice” but never really “good or great”. I was never completely happy with my shots. I also had to spend a lot time editing them specially when the shot involves a wide spectrum of natural light conditions in a single frame. Sure, I can always stack several exposures together to balance thing out but being the lazy photographer that I am; I said to myself that there must be an easier and better way to do it.
Since it is summer and I am travelling with my in-laws for our annual trip to the beach, I decided that this might be the best time for me to pull the trigger and get myself a filter system in anticipation to the seascapes I might be able to capture. I had no idea whatsoever about filter system although brands like Lee, Formatt-Hitech, Cokin are familiar to me as I get to read about them or hear them from landscape photographers. As I did my research, I came upon a review made by my cousin-in-law and landscape photographer extraordinaire – Patrick Marson Ong (https://www.patrickmarsonong.com) about a brand named Nisi and its V5 Pro system.
Nisi is a totally unfamiliar name to me but I was really impressed with what I read and the results that I saw from Patrick’s photos. The Nisi system is not cheap, and some friends were recommending cheaper options but I said to myself, if I am to invest in this then I might as well, spend a bit more now on a system that will stay with me for a long time. Because I believe in the saying that it is not quality that is expensive but the lack of quality. If I buy a cheap brand now, I am pretty sure that not long from now, I will be unhappy with it and will want to upgrade which will mean added cost and a loss for me as I have to sell the cheaper system. So I got myself the starter kit, which has everything that I need to get me going along my way.
The Nisi V5 Pro Starter Kit comes in a box that contains the following:
NiSi Filters V5 PRO Filter Holder System Kit
NiSi Filters 100mm All in One Case
NiSi Filters Glass 100x150mm Multi-coated Soft 0.9 (3-stop) Graduated ND Filter
NiSi Filters Glass 100x100mm Nano Multi-coated IR ND 1.8 (6-stop) ND Filter
NiSi Filters Glass 100x100mm Nano Multi-coated IR ND 3.0 (10-stop) ND Filter
NiSi Filters Protective Lens Cap for V5
NiSi Filter Cleaning Cloth, Air Blower, and Square Cleaning Eraser
So I took with me my Fuji X-Pro 2, Fuji 16-55mm f/2.8, Samyang 12mm f/2.0 lenses, Sirui T-025x travel tripod along with the filter system which I transfered into a Lowepro S&F Filter pouch (which Patrick, being the swell guy that he is, gave to me for free. He even had it Grab Delivered to me just in time for my trip) and my Sony RX100M4 (back up camera). All these fit in the Peak Design 13″ Everyday Messenger Bag.
This year we travelled once more to Zambales, Central Luzon with my in-laws for a 3 days vacation. We tried out a new place called Sambali Beach Farm. It is located in Botolan, Zambales that is a 5-hour trip by car from the place where I live.
Sambali Beach Farm (https://www.facebook.com/SambaliBeachFarm/?rf=470783709739746) is an 8-hectare property which contains a main beach house, a gazebo and an organic farm located right along the shores of West Philippine Sea (South China Sea). It features a spacious beach house fronting the West Philippine Sea (formerly China Sea), set amidst an 8-hectare property with an organic vegetable farm, and nearby a Catholic hermitage and chapel, and a minor seminary. The house is made of native “sawali” material and Philippine hardwood but has the comforts of a city house. (Source: Sambali Beach Farm AirBnB listing). The Gazebo contains 8 beds and that was where my family (all 6 of us) stayed. The beach is a 2-minute walk from the farm and is really quiet and clean. The water of the beach is warm and one of the clearer and cleaner water I’ve experienced on a beach in Zambales. The sand, while not white, was really soft and powdery. Gentle waves lapped the shore and makes for a really relaxing experience. The staffs there were attentive and provided us chairs, shade and snacks while we were on the beach. All our meals prepared by them -from the veggies, to the pork and chicken dish – were fresh, organic and from the farm. The place was really nice, the only thing I wish was for a swimming pool to provide an alternative hang out place at night when it is too dark to go to the beach.

Now onto the photos I took with the Nisi V5 Pro Filter system. I tried it both with the Samyang 12mm f/2 and the Fuji 16-55mm f/2.8. We arrived at Sambali Beach Farm around 3pm and after settling down and going to our respective rooms, I wanted to scout the place and look for place of interest where I can shoot. So I immediately installed the filters on the Samyang 12mm and it was a “learn-as-I-go” process. I really had no idea what the rules were or how the proper process was so I just experimented with it. I set my camera to shoot RAW and I started clicking away in manual mode. The system itself is pretty straightforward and easy to use. The CPL can be mounted flush onto the 82mm main adaptor and does not interfere with the installation of the square filters. There is an ingenious design in the filter holder that allows the CPL to be rotated (via the tiny wheels on the adaptor), without removing the other filters. The filters slide in and out easily but securely via the rubber gaskets in the sides of the holder. The only thing one needs to take note of is that the holder itself is bigger than the 100mm filters so when you stack them together, you can’t remove the 1st one (nearest the lens) without removing the others first, so careful consideration should be made as to which filter goes in first when stacking them. Other than this, I felt completely secure that the filters won’t fall off at anytime when installed in the holder. The filter holder and all the adaptors are made up of aluminum. It is quite lightweight but very well made and feels like it can stand the rigors of use and time.
During the 1st day I was a bit crestfallen because the beach was what we will describe as a great place for swimming but not so great for taking photos with. There were no dramatic features or formations there for me to shoot so I just satisfied myself with trying out long exposure shots of the beach from late afternoon to sunset. Trying out what works and what doesn’t. These are my 1st day photos. It was really all experimentations and a learning process for me. I am happy to report that post processing these photos was relatively easy because as Patrick had stated in his review, this system adds no perceivable color casts to the images. This makes it a breeze to post process, as all I had to focus on were exposure corrections, leveling crooked horizon on several shots and some minor curve adjustments. After taking these shots, I resigned myself to be spending more time soaking in the beach for the next day and a half since as I’ve said, there were no dramatic formations for me to shoot and I do not want to take the same shots of the same spots all over again.

During breakfast on the next day, my brother-in-law Alex, who seems to be more amphibian than terran as he loves to be in the water, said that while he was on the beach early morning, he went on a short hike/swim to a spot about 20 minutes away from where we were and saw an inlet, which the local fishermen refers to as the river, and that it might be a nice place to shoot some photos. So around 10am, my wife and I decided to walk there and check it out. When we reached the place, we saw several sand bars and an inlet, which was being fed by the waters from the sea. The water was clean and calm. It seemed like a really idyllic spot for swimming and just soaking in the water. Some hills and trees surrounded the inlet and there was this sandbar right across the shore that sort of formed a mini island complete with some trees and bushes in the middle. The local fishermen used that inlet to put up their fish pen there. Good thing for me was I had all my gear with me, which I carried in a waterproof bag. It was also fortunate that I had the Fuji 16-55mm f/2.8 lens installed instead of the Samyang 12mm, as it was weather sealed. I knew that the possibility of having water splash on the camera was great so I wanted to go with a weather sealed setup. I quickly set up my tripod and my camera, installed the filters and waded into waist deep water along the fish pen because it was the only place where I can get the angle that I wanted. My heart was pounding because the sand was really soft and with every step I took, my feet would sink more than ankle deep into the sand. As I set the tripod into the water, I was glad I extended everything to the maximum height because the last segment of the tripod legs sank deeply into the sand. While the current was gentle where I was standing, the tripod being a light weight travel tripod was rocking a bit despite its legs being planted deeply in the sand, I muttered to myself that I need to bring the heavier/sturdier tripod the next time I will be doing something like this.

After spending about 30 minutes there, I was getting sunburned already so my wife and I decided to head back and return later in the afternoon with our family. I was looking forward to the return trip that afternoon because I was hoping for some sunset shots there. So around 3:30pm/4pm we returned to the place with our family. Some of us hiked there while some rented an outrigger boat to take them there. But to my dismay, it became overcast and it was raining lightly. I figured that I probably wouldn’t be able to take any photos due to the condition so I resigned myself to the idea that I’ll just be spending the time swimming with my family. I decided to swim across to the sandbar across the shore, which was about approximately 80 feet (24 meters) away.
This turn out to be one of the best decision I did for the trip because it was only when I reached that sandbar that I saw the location for the shot that would become my fave for the whole trip. The only problem was how was I supposed to transport my gear over there. I must have spend 15 minutes debating with myself until I decided that if I do not risk it and transfer my gear over and take the shot, I might leave the place with deep regrets, so I swam across and gathered all my stuff and was trying to figure out how to swim across with my stuff without them getting trashed. I saw a life vest used by those who went there via the outrigger. I borrowed it and quickly put it on because I needed all the help I can get to make sure my gear survives. So I swam across with one hand carrying the tripod and the other hand holding the waterproof bag containing my camera and filters, all the while, praying that the bag is truly waterproof and that my legs won’t cramp up causing me to drown, LOL! It was with great relief that my gear survived that short swim across. Setting up was pretty tricky as there was no place to safely put down my camera, the water transitioned from super shallow to suddenly waist deep in a matter of few feet and the sand was kind of like quicksand as you really sink deeply in it, add to that the worsening weather condition. But it was the only chance I got so I went for it. I took a total of 3 shots. The 1st one was while the sky was fairly bright, and then the 2nd one was when it was turning dark while the last one was right before the imminent rain. These 3 shots are my favorite shots of the whole trip and made all the effort I took to get them worth it.

This trip marks the 1st time I tried a filter system and I look forward to more “learnings” and discoveries with it. I enjoyed the whole process and I hope for more opportunities to shoot more with them.
Please do leave me a comment or two. I sure would love to hear from you. Thanks and God bless.
