Marchula Bus Accident: A bus accident took place in Almora district of Uttarakhand on Monday. According to media reports, 36 people have died in this accident. 10 of them are women. Many people have been injured. They have been rushed to the hospital. According to officials, a bus carrying at least 40 passengers went out of control and fell into a deep gorge near Kupi village in Marchula.

District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey said that the bus was going from Garhwal to Kumaon, when this accident happened in Marchula, Almora. He told that so far seven people have been reported dead. Pandey said that there were about 40 passengers in the bus, so the number of casualties may increase. He said that police and SDRF personnel have reached the spot to start search and rescue operation. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the death of people in the accident.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has tweeted. He wrote, "Received very sad news of casualties of passengers in the unfortunate bus accident in Marchula of Almora district. The district administration has been instructed to carry out relief and rescue operations swiftly."

People can be airlifted

He further wrote, "The local administration and SDRF teams at the site of the incident are working rapidly to evacuate the injured and take them to the nearest health center for treatment. Instructions have also been given to airlift the seriously injured passengers if required."

In the wake of the Uttarkashi tunnel collapse, rescue operations have entered Day 5 as Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami takes charge, ensuring coordinated efforts and regular reviews to address the critical situation. Over 100 hours have passed since the incident, with 40 laborers still trapped under debris. Various forces, working at a war footing, are committed to the rescue mission, employing innovative approaches to reach the stranded workers.

CM Dhami's Proactive Leadership

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has been actively overseeing the relief and rescue operations in Silkyara, holding a crucial review meeting on Thursday with Garhwal commissioner and other officials. Emphasizing the importance of constant communication with the families of the trapped workers, CM Dhami has also directed the smooth functioning of toll-free numbers to streamline information flow.

"Evacuating the personnel trapped in the tunnel is the top priority of our government," CM Dhami stated. The state departments, in collaboration with central agencies, are working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of all workers involved.

Union Minister VK Singh's Assurance

Union Minister VK Singh, commenting on the ongoing rescue operation, expressed confidence in the efficiency of the new machinery deployed. The government's priority remains the safe evacuation of all workers. Singh stated, "The speed of the new machine is good, it is the best machine. First of all, it is our priority to get all the workers out safely. After that, we will investigate the collapse incident."

Situation Update from DGP Ashok Kumar

Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar provided insight into the current situation within the tunnel, assuring that things are stable. The search operation is expected to continue for the next two to three days, pending any unforeseen obstacles. "Right now, the situation is fine inside. Hopefully, if no new hurdles arise, it will be resolved in 2-3 days," stated DGP Ashok Kumar.

As the rescue operation unfolds, the collective efforts of various agencies under the guidance of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami signal a determined approach to overcome the challenges posed by the Uttarkashi tunnel collapse.
