Gressenheller University is the place the intellectuals of London gather. It was built with a neo-Baroque-style exterior, which over the past 20 years, has only become more distinguished-looking.

Excite your curiosity by visiting this centre for learning Universities are places for students to study, however Gressenheller University is also open to everyday citizens and tourists. Tours can be taken in some of the laboratories, giving you the chance to see the world’s most cutting-edge archaeological research up close. You know what. How silly of me to think that the Dress Up Minigame from azran legacy was going to be an honest to God fashion challenge. That's the most absurd, fucked up ugly thing I have ever seen. I GENUINELY had to look up to the correct options because I was shaking in distress. Nothing seems right, nothing fit together and I hope level 5 had a good fucking laugh at my expenses.

YEAH HAHA I love t4t hcs and trans hcs in general but I haven't really given them to that many characters!! When I was deeply involved in PL stuff I was still in the trenches of Christian conservatism- even tho i didnt agree with it my brain still was too scared to do anything that was deemed "evil" (aka anything that isn’t cis or straight) due to my parents willing to punish me for any online shenanigans. So unfortunately did NOT come up with epic hcs until the last 3 yrs for characters.

SO the natural course of action is to make up for it, right? I can absolutely see it with Clark and Brenda. I think they deserve it. I feel like some really cute things can be done with that. Frankly I wouldn't mind seeing gender/trans hcs for other characters too so I can get some big brain perspectives on characters to accept into my belief system ♡

In a tweet Jonathan Morris claimed the Prime Minister in Terror of the Zygons or Mawdryn Undead was Brenda Jones, Harriet Jones' auntie. I put this in 1975 (for less than a year) because why not. Ignore this if you think it's bad.

The Torchwood Encyclopaedia claims that Denise Reilly succeeds Brian Green, since the next PM chronologically is ‘Unnamed Female PM from BF Silence Audios’ these have been welded together.

Actual dates of Kenneth Le Blanc and Unnamed Female PM are unknown, but are set in the UNIT audios between Power of Three (2012-2013) and DotD (2013).

Felicity and Fiona are given as PMs in Aliens Among Us and God Among Us (Torchwood S5 and S6) released and presumably set in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

2010s are a mess due to BF, Titan Comics and the Lucy Wilson novels all giving conflicting accounts of who is PM only a couple years apart, apparently there were a lot of elections/resignations in that decade

Harriet Jones initially served Three terms prior to the Doctor altering history and deposing her, given UK Term Length is unclear, it's unknown how long this would have been, I would guess around 15 years, which would've put Harriet Jones at (2006-2021) where she'd be succeeded by Jo Patterson.

The UK becomes a military Dictatorship from 2028 until 2046 headed by ‘The Director’.

Dai is described as the 'first Prime Minister to serve after the Director is overthrown' this seems to contradict 73 Yards depicting Roger ap Gwilliam's election, but if Roger ap Gwilliam was overthrown as well he can't be said to have 'served', his deputy PM, Iris Cabriola technically succeeds him, but is never the official PM and presumably Dai is then elected the following year.

This is resolved by having Strunk be Mather’s successor who’s term was also replaced when Faction Paradox remove Mather’s term from history.

The Faction Paradox novel ‘Head of State’ depicts a 2 term Democratic President named Samson who is succeeded by Matt Nelson of a newly formed Radical Party. They are subsequently assassinated by their VP, the sentient humanoid TARDIS Lolita (Who has also been War Queen of Gallifrey and Queen of the UK before, as well as having devoured the Eleven Day Empire). I was talking to my brother about Last Specter, specifically how Brenda had been kidnapped by a guy pretending to be their butler, and I explained how there’s a scene where Clark invites Layton and gang to stay for dinner, and is even more insistent that Layton pick the wine because he loves wine so much, but when they get into the cellar and Emmy’s like “I didn’t know you loved wine!”, Layton is like “I don’t. I have a headcanon that part of why Brenda is contentious with Sharon at first is because she seems so perfect and put together and self-possessed and dresses well and she feels self-conscious about herself. I also think that Sharon probably feels some jealousy about how effortless it seems for Brenda to get her way and inspire loyalty in so many people and how she seems untouchable.

Brenda and Sharon are both kind of out there doing their own things, they march to their own drums, they're independent badass women. My headcanon is that Brenda is mostly with Fritz because it's basically the path of least resistance. Not that she didn't love him but I don't think she chose really any of the milestones that happened in their marriage. So I think when she fell in love with Sharon, it was like a revelation and the finding of a kindred spirit.

This is maybe the least tonally consistent but I really liked the imagery of Sharon basically being like "hey, when you break up with Fritz, I'm next" because she knows she's a catch. And much like Red Wine Supernova was chosen because of Brenda's love of Merlot, Sharon loves white wine and I enjoyed that bookending of the wine preferences.

Welcome to the Layton NPC Showdown!

This is a bracket to determine which of the many memorable NPCs from across the Professor Layton games are the greatest.

GAMES INCLUDED: Every game except LBMR. Eternal Diva characters are also not included here.

WHAT COUNTS AS AN NPC?: Anyone who doesn't have a puzzle animation. Characters excluded are Layton, Luke, Flora, Clive, Emmy, Randall, Aurora, Des, Espella, Phoenix, Maya, Katrielle, Ernest, Sherl, Hastings, and Emiliana.

WILL THERE BE NOMINATIONS?: Nope! Every NPC will be included.

WHAT ABOUT THE LAYTONMOBILE/MOLENTARY EXPRESS?: No vehicles. Not characters.

WHAT ABOUT THE PUZZLE LADS/LASSES?: I only plan on including characters that we can speak to in-game, so no Puzzle Lads or Lasses. Sorry to the people who like them 😔

WHICH CHARACTERS ARE INCLUDED, THEN?: Anyone who isn't an exception listed above that is in the profiles of the game! A full list is enclosed below.

WHEN WILL THE TOURNAMENT START?: More information forthcoming on that! I have to seed the bracket first :)

WHY IS NAIYA YOUR ICON?: In my opinion, she's one of the more underrated NPCs of the series. I'll probably cycle through some of the ones I have available to me right now.

WHAT CRITERIA SHOULD I VOTE ON?: Whatever makes you happy :)

ARE ALTER EGOS SEPERATE CHARACTERS?: No. For instance, Ratman is not included because his secret identity is in the tournament.

US OR UK NAMES?: I will try to make available as many names for the NPCs as possible! Which includes their Japanese names and as many names in the localizations as I am able to obtain from the wiki and my own sources. I'll probably reliably have the English (both versions where applicable), Japanese, and French names for every character when I do the bracket rounds. The list below however is entirely in English.

okay so here's my au-meets-canon au thing but just the first au which is a grab bag of modern + age swap-ish + other stuff and not the meeting canon part yet also the alt text has explanations of the images

just some general stuff:

- the tritons were in london when the flat with clive's parents caught on fire due to faulty wiring (not due to time-travel shenanigans, thankfully) and thought he looked exactly what his then-3 year old son would look like when he got older and adopted him

- turns out clive had a lot of trauma and behavioral issues and so the tritons moved to misthallery thinking that the small, quiet town would be good for him

- it helped a lot, but he still needed like. a lot of therapy as well. most of it occurred when he was 15-17 after yelling at poor 5 year old luke.

- with the age difference of 10 years, he and luke were not the biggest fans of each other at first, but after half a year luke became his shadow and followed him EVERYWHERE. they became inseparable

- clive didn't move out until he was 22 and decided to go to college to get journalism and communications degrees. there is where he met his boyfriend/husband (who is just an oc and isn't integral to the story)

- clive then went on to work for the london times and later created an independent news website stationed in london that covers politics in the uk and other countries

- luke moved out at 19 to pursue a veterinary degree that specializes in exotic pets bc he was upset that there isn't enough support for rodents/reptiles/"ugly" pets

- luke has also been dating someone from misthallery since they were 15 (he also dated someone else before they unfortunately passed.) also not integral to the story but bonus points if you can guess who

- clark received a call from an adoption agency that his acquaintance leon bronev and his wife rachel were unfortunally victims of a break in/robbery/murder after leon tried to fight back (targent doesn't fuck around this time) while the boys were at school

- clark wanted to take them in, but realized that he wasn't fit to be a parent anymore now that his life had gotten busier as misthallery continued to grow and didn't want brenda to be forced raising 2 children for 6/12 more years as well as uproot them from london where they already had friends that would most likely be their biggest support system at the time

- clark then asked if clive was interested since he had his life together, and clive said no because of the fact he would only be able to take care of one and didn't want to separate them. besides that, he was very interested in doing so bc he had personal experience being an adopted child

- luke then suggested that he could adopt the other one and so they wouldn't be far apart (luke and clive literally in the same apartment complex, albeit on different floors) and if luke had any issues, they could go to clive and vice-versa

- they met hersh and theo and explained the situation to them so they would know what's going on. after some time of hanging out with them, the boys just kinda gravitated to the silblings (hershel gravitated to clive because of his interests in robotics and gundam and theodore gravitated to luke because of his personality and love of toy cars/trains)

- now they live in their respective apartments and visit so frequently that it's practically the same as owning 2 houses so they're always at one or the other

- clive also taught hershel about dnd bc of his interest for it after clive's group had a session at his house and now it's one of his special interests (because everyone in layton is autistic don't @ me) and although he's a stickler for the rules, he has a lot of fun with improv

- theo is like. feral as a 6 year old can be (think bluey if you watch that) as hell bc without the laytons, theo is left unchecked with his chaotic-good personality and also his audhd (again, don't @ me) especially since luke is also very much the same

uh some bonus stuff:

- luke owns 4 rats and a cat (he is a responsible owner and the rats have a room dedicated to them so don't worry)

- clive owns 2 dogs (I need suggestions because I'm not a dog person lmao)

- as pictured above, theo LOVES hot chips for some fucking reason. he also has a huge sweet tooth and fakes getting hurt to get the "magical chocolate"

- theo also plays a lot with a boy obsessed with digging stuff up in the playground and a girl who talks a lot about dr. who in ms. reinhold's class

- hersh has a friend who beats up people who bully him for being quiet and "weird," much to his displeasure about violence. despite that, he's grateful that the bullying has gone down, but it is still causing him some self-esteem issues (he hasn't told clive about it) (NOT A SHIP. I REPEAT, NOT A SHIP. /srs)

- hershel also likes wearing skirts and has a collection of medium to long skirts and is very picky about staying in the autumn colour range bc appearance is important. (that's also why he wears glasses. they're not real but he likes how they frame his face)

- luke is an anxious mess and hasn't gone to therapy like clive has and has done a pretty good job of hiding it so far (except from theo bc they live together and luke worries about him a lot), but if something absolutely crazy happens they're gonna snap (I wonder what that could be. weird.)

- uh clive uses he/him, luke uses he/they, hershel has been trying out they/them along with he/him, and theo doesn't care what people use for him because he is 6 (clive and luke are supportive (obviously), so it doesn't matter anyway) (I used he/him for herhsel and theo for simplicity here)

I have beef with the dress up mini game in Azran Legacy.

Don't get me wrong it's really fun.... Right after you unlock all the items.

I get that it's suppose to be something to do throughout the story but I just can't help but think of the people who play PL casually and wanting to complete all the dress up stuff.

I personally love trying to solve as many puzzles as I can to unlock as much as I can (i.e Layton's challenges) because I love to 100% the games.

However even for me it was tricky trying to find all of the pieces of clothing to DO the minigame in the first place (I still haven't even found the last piece of clothing yet!)

Idk maybe I just prefer a minigame where I can complete it straightaway (Example being the shop minigame in Miracle Mask <3) but that is just my opinion and everyone can have their own :D

The dressup game in itself is really fun I love trying to think of what kind of outfit said character wants & using the hints they give to make their dream outfits. Brenda's was my personal favorite it suits her and I love her interaction with Clark afterward.

Stinging bees in a jar is a lovely kwami swap au au where Nathalie becomes hornet a bee themed anti hero!

What’s love got to do with it?

This is an au that’s been in my brain for yonks, basically it’s a cheesy romcom edelclaude au (not to be mistaken for my other fic, which is a brenda x clark one with the same name)

Basically El and Claude meet at a mutual friends wedding (Dorthea and Petra’s) and hit it of quite well

They share the night together and are basking in the bliss of a one night stand

But both of them are very skeptical of love and it leads to some matchmaking shenanigans from their friends when they notice how well the two of them mesh together but won’t actually date

It ends happily? I haven’t got that far yet with planning?

So yeah Romcom Edelclaude au basically!!
