I’m sorry if this feels weird to say or anything but… I really love your mind 😭 when I first discovered your fics I would get upset by the open endings because it was something that I wasn’t used to in the slightest. I’m too attached to having full closure by the end of a story, but after I read more of your writing I really became enthralled by it. Your style feels like I’m transported completely to a sort of dream realm. I’m not sure if it’s your wording or the way the story plays out but your fics really feel like dreams more than anything to me. If I could describe it then I would say it feels almost like “All About Lily Chou-Chou” or “The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” in it’s atmosphere, what I imagine the stories look like when playing out and that sort of filter/cinematography. Hopefully that makes sense and I mean this comparison in the best way as I love both movies! eurydice was the first fic I read from you and it was such a different experience from what I usually am used to and it challenged me to think further into the implications and symbolism throughout the story. I guess your writing brought me out of my comfort zone and then I got hooked on your writing! I think the way you write is so unique and special and I’m so glad that I came across it and I really hope that you get more attention for it! So yeah, I just wanted to make sure that you knew how absolutely beautiful and captivating your writing is and how thankful I am that you’re sharing your talent with us. hi, omg. thank you for this ask! definitely not a weird thing to say at all :) I’m glad to hear that my writing was able to push into a new kind of style I guess, that means the world to me! and i am so honored you think so highly of my writing. i haven’t seen all about Lilly Chou-Chou but I have seen (and love) eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. it’s one of my favorite movies and one that has (as you’ve picked out here lol) really inspired the way I like to tell stories. the comparison feels undeserved but thank you nonetheless. and what you said about my pieces feeling like dream….mwah. that’s kind of the goal I’m going for with my more recent and shorter pieces. im so happy it came across like that for you too.

9) How does your OC handle their physical health? Do they take care of themselves?

thea probably has a regular and rigorous workout routine and sometimes the girls will try to follow along and almost accidentally kill themselves because thea is insane. ros and norie go running together on the rooftops sometimes (idk how this started. possibly some sort of misguided bonding attempt when ros first moved to the bakery and was trying to go Hello Fellow Child, You Like High Places? and then somehow it escalated). mari is a soft and squishy wizard who kind of hates exercising but she darts round the bakery like a rabbit and sometimes that’s a workout, ngl.

evie’s whole life is a workout. actually give that girl a break for real.

10) How does your OC handle their mental health? Do they take care of themselves?

almost no girl of mine has a good answer to this so i kind of have to answer for all of them bc i needed to really think about it.

marigold is fine :) she’s fine all the time she’s fine :) she’s never not been fine and if you ask her how she’s doing the answer is always fine because she’s fine. TOTALLY unrelated: has anyone in the room ever thought about how that building across the street should be burned down? For no reason she kind of feels like maybe burning down a building is a great idea. Just saying (handling mari’s mental health usually involves trying to minimize the body count thru outside intervention)

evie has a mind that is swiss cheese and tumbleweeds and it is never really going to function normally, so “mental health” to her is kind of a foreign concept. she needs a certain degree of guidance just to get through her daily life, usually. that said, of all the girls on this list, she’s the one most likely to actually try self care if you explain it to her, but that’s not really saying a lot bc if you ask evie nicely to jump off a cliff there’s a non zero chance she’d do that too. so.

roslin has Older Sister Issues so she never talks about her feelings because she’s trying to take care of everybody else’s, BUT if pressed even gently by her mom she will completely fall apart without hesitation. so usually when she’s having a rough time she will just go awkwardly silently lurk by thea until thea will ask her if she’s okay and she’ll go (tearing up) no mumma i am Not. and then launch into a really long monologue about it.

lenora is literally always in a state of being pissed off about SOMETHING and it takes very little to get her started about whatever it is that’s upsetting her but ONLY if it’s roslin she can complain to!!! with thea there will just be one of those awkward “alone with dad on a fishing trip” silences while they both debate killing themselves rather than actually discussing their emotions (like mother like daughter). so her mental health moment is getting roslin to do her nails while she complains without drawing breath.

when thea is having an off day she goes and she beats up some random criminal and then she shows up in jaheira’s house and stays until jaheira comes home and comes up with some insane reason to pick an extremely unserious fight until a very irritated jaheira (who has experienced this like 20 times) is like BE NORMAL and kicks her out. i would not call this “handling her mental health” by any means but it is for sure what she does.

sofie goes to mommy :’) and then mommy scoops her up and they usually make cookies together or something. baby girl.

20) If they fight, what's their weapon of choice?

norie fights with a morningstar that she named spider’s bite :’) specifically because “spider” is her childhood nickname, courtesy of thea, and norie is at her core a sentimental fool 💖

thea fights with a hammer! blunt brutal terrifying just like her.

evie fights with a bow and arrow. she sort of forgets she has it a lot though sometimes and will occasionally just tackle people or start swinging fists.

The rose, despite exposing its thorns for all to see, still could not stop curious onlookers, distracted by its overwhelming beauty, from approaching it with their bare hands, so greedy and gullible, such shamelessly possessive men -- ah, kanako, my kanako, light of my life -- so laughable as they sucked their pricked thumb wiping away tears completely dumbfounded, frightened and still blind as ever.

youve heard of “i have a new favorite buddy daddies episode” now get ready for “i have a new LEAST favorite buddy daddies episode” // buddy daddies ep 11 spoilers

as i was watching ep 11 the things i kept repeating as i watched were “WHAT?”, “????????”, “this is not fucking happening”, and “oh my fucking god”

needless to say i’m REALLY unsatisfied with the choice to kill misaki off ): i’m 100% not impressed at all whatsoever. i don’t think it was a good or sensible choice, even for the tragedy points. it left a bad taste in my mouth and it really sort of bothered me for the rest of the episode. there was nothing other than annoyance and dissatsifcation with the way she dropped dead.

is that the point? maybe. to which i say: that’s not cool, dude! i don’t think i will be satisfied with this result no matter what!

buddy daddies has had REALLY GOOD story beats so far. much of the writing, i was cool with! i really liked buddy daddies for the refreshing writing it had with this sort of concept. however, killing misaki off right after she had shown just how much she tried to change for miri, just how desperately she wanted to give miri everything, just how much she wanted to do for miri is so wasteful. not to mention, killing off a single mother who tried her best to change and did leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

was she the most righteous character? no. you could even say that her attempt to change even after all the neglect she put miri through is a little tasteless. not a lot of people like her, and it makes sense because she didn’t treat her daughter all that well, only to come back for her. but she’s a much deeper character than the surface hypocrisy that she displays. she was dealt a terrible hand. she was unlucky and, while she may have perpetuated her unfortunate situation, there’s no changing that she is a victim. and not every victim plays out to be someone who can be admirable or likable. the point is, though, that despite everything, misaki proved that she wanted to be miri’s mother. and that she really did try her best to be a good mother towards the end.

(fuck i hate saying that! “towards the end” is so stupid!)

i, for one, actually really like misaki’s character. i don’t like what she’s done, but she’s a very well-written and complex character. she’s supposed to be this parallel to kazuki, which was clear from their confrontation in ep 3. that’s really neat IMO! the two of them contrasted each other well, especially with how they learned to be the best parent for the same child.

but killing her off? it just seemed like a waste. i don’t feel like there’s a way to justify that choice that will satisfy me. revenge will not make it any better for me, nor will some other choice. i have no idea what they’ll do for the last episode, but i don’t feel like the conclusion will be satisfying for misaki at all. i hope they prove me wrong, but i’m not particularly that hopeful.

would it have been hard to fit her into miri's life if kazuki and rei managed to fix everything? sure. it would've been hard, but it would've been worth it. miri's happiness includes her mother, too. especially her mother who tried her best despite the bad hand she was given. just 'cause it's hard doesn't mean it's wrong.

anyway, what else? that confrontation between kazuki and rei! if there’s anything to be satisfied with in this episode, it’s probably definitely that. the contrast between kazuki wanting to pull away from miri’s life to keep her safe vs rei wanting to continue their family was really great! it flipped their dynamic on its head!

i’m always here for rei growth, ok? the way the last few episodes were about rei’s growth (ep 8 + 9) was really good for what ep 11 did to cement that character growth! and seeing that resolve become what it is now - the determination to give miri the happiness she deserves for bringing warmth into his life - is really so good to me.

and kazuki’s complexity is shown further in here. he just watched misaki die (FML!), possibly even blaming himself for it. at this point he brought BOTH of miri’s biological parents to their deaths. that’s not something that someone as soft-hearted and family oriented as kazuki can take. from this point onward, he has to cut ties with miri so that he doesn’t take any other part of her - or worse, have her taken away from him. in his eyes, nothing has changed at all. he can’t do anything but bring misery to everyone around him, exactly as misaki had once told him. wow! ouch man!

but thankfully rei can convince him. rei, who is now determined to follow through with his resolve. rei who desperately wants to keep the warmth and happiness he’s been shown by this little family of theirs. he can’t achieve that warmth and happiness alone. kazuki was part of that happiness, so he’ll do his goddamned best to to convince him that they can change - for the child who brought that happiness into their lives.

there’s a thousand things i could say about their confrontation, but there’s so many other people who are also talking about it and i don’t want to rehash everything since i agree LOL but i just ... i really liked that flashback sequence, too. “we can change” and kazuki thinks about meeting yuzuko and losing her. he thinks about meeting miri. “this time, we’ll make miri happy” and he thinks about karin’s faith in him to make miri happy. yes you can, kazuki!!! yes you can!!!!!! because when has rei wanted something this badly before? if he’s by your side, if your efforts are combined, can’t you achieve that impossible dream??

it’s not bad for both of them to need each other. it’s not bad for all three of them to need each other. altogether, their little family makes all of them happy.

but mark my words, PAworks. i care more about miri’s happiness than you do GRAHH misaki’s alive in my canon ok
