three against me (the trio's love)
misamo & fem!reader // college au
thank you for @cry4mina for the misamo pictures and for being delulu with me about misamo <3 MISAMOOO
when you said you wanted your college life to be eventful
you didn't expect the universe throwing you three girlfriends, each with their own side of how they got you locked with them
it starts during the first semester of your 3rd year, when you were in a small cafe, getting to a headstart in your pile of homework
it's perfect, a iced coffee by your side, three readings beside you, your laptop on the coffee table in front of you and phone silenced, muting whatever the onslaught of messages nayeon is sending that you can't even be bothered to check
you needed this, you couldn't handled anymore 'dubchaeng babysitting!' when the duo would just make your head hurt with the amount of crazy ideas they had. the change of pace for the day is much welcome, especially knowing that jeongyeon took over with the lure of seeing a band a cafe next university over
it's nice, you can feel like you are in control for even just for a bit
then the cafe's noise dies down when the door chimes
it's too silent
fuck.
you brace yourself at the trio, who’s presence can make the entire student populous go on their knees. the mere whisper of their little group brings the entire college either trembling
misamo.
you can feel her gaze land on you, despite the only indication that it is one of them without looking is the whispers within the cafe. even the baristas know them
hirai momo. softball player, the star athlete that brings medals and more recognition to your university. average grades, stellar performance when she steps on the field and can land a nasty punch
with each step you hear her take, the more you have to remind yourself not to look. you can hear her giggles and the way your heartbeat is now in your ears
minatozaki sana. influencer and model, the unspoken leader of their group. through her bubbly and charming personality, she uses her wit to become the face of the university. part of the top 10% of the whole university, the inspiration to study hard and diligently
you feel a hand on your shoulder, the firm grasp rendering you unable to move, yet it's how you know who it is. she hums in delight at your sharp intake of breath, knowing that you don't need anything else to tell her apart
myoui mina. rising entrepreneur of 3 different business ventures, the deadliest one from the trio. always calculating, always 10 steps ahead of her peers and competitors. sweet, kind, and demur, she brings class to whatever she does
that includes sitting beside you, her bag gently landing on the table, your proximity leaves the others questioning your relationship, but all you know is that you must have done something at your shared class with her yesterday for her too approach you
"i hope you don't mind" she starts, eyes confident and you want to scream and cry because she's wearing a suit. typically worn when she's fresh from visiting one of her businesses. "i heard you were well versed in code"
"programming is my major yes" you keep your voice leveled, after all, being a woman in such a male dominated course has made you what your flock of admirers say, freezingly cold.
"i have a proposition for you" mina starts, keeping a dangerous game of who can keep the eye contact going "you help me with homeworks and projects while i give you money per assessment made"
while mina has a fair share of students that matched her energy, something in your gaze makes her crack a bit
"what makes you think i'll say yes?"
"you can't say no to me"
"yes i can. here watch i'll say it"
and mina can't deny it when she feels her heart start to race when you get closer to her. faces barely a few inches apart
"i don't do things for money. so no"
and you pull back, ready to put back to attention to your homework when mina speaks up
"every time you have to help me i'll pay you in food"
oh goodness free food
"ok i'm in" you hum, hands typing away on your laptop "we start in two days, send me an address and i'll met you there myoui. now shoo, i have to catch up to my work"
she stares at you with a blank gaze, but inside she's dumbfounded at your boldness
nevertheless, she stands up to leave you be, but before she's out of earshot, she says something you don't quite catch
"what?" you ask
"you should call me mina. myoui is too professional even for my taste dear"
three days later, it's momo who bugs you after your morning class
she slips up right beside you, the lack of dress code in the university gives momo a chance to wear a body hugging pink dress, something that makes everyone go crazy. what you don't like is how every guy is looking at her in ways you want to pluck their eyes out
filthy bastards don't deserve to gaze at her at all
"momo" your ears are red because everyone can clearly see you both in the halls, her arm around your waist as you slowly walk to the next building for your next class "what are you doing?"
"accompanying you to class" momo won't admit it, but ever since mina said you were, in her words, 'pretty and sufficient', she had to see you
"why?" you ask, glaring at every man who's looking at her too creepily, making them scurry away
"just because, plus our classrooms are right beside each other" she relaxes more with each less man in the hall, you notice it
"fine" you huff, and before she can even say anything else, you remove your jacket, giving it to her "wear this for today, i don't want any man to look at you. you're too gorgeous for them"
the rest of the walk is silent on the way to both of your classrooms. only thing you can hear is the squeak of every sneaker from each man running way and the whispers in between students
it's the most peaceful walk momo has had since becoming star athlete
so when you wave at her from the door before disappearing to go to the classroom beside her's, she feels like she can breath without panicking
she hates taking anything math related, but she might bare it more when she knows your beside her classroom
she's hooked
later that afternoon, while you lounge around the student council office sipping a red bull, someone barges in, scaring your team who's having a heated debate on who should the rest of the papers
"fucking jesus who the fuck-" ryujin is silenced from who she sees at the door
minatozaki sana, the ever persistent and one of the most notable member under the team of the president.
"someone sent you flowers?"
not a question you were expecting, even your team is gawking at her
dressed to perfection, you can't catch her in a regular outfit at any point, which is kind of ridiculous. sana doesn't care, always styled like she's going to a fashion week in europe. today she's wearing that white dress that she just wore in her feature in some magazine
what is it with the trio and wearing designer clothing every time they are at university grounds? specifically when they are within your eyesight
"pardon?" you know the amount of admires that still try despite cold rejection, even hailing from different courses. hell you think someone from the university over sent you chocolates once, you gave it to your team though
"did you accept some stupid boy's flowers?" sana repeats, anger in her eyes, an emotion she barely shows, and possessiveness in her body language, something you see glimpses of when someone gets close to mina and momo that she doesn't approve of
"minatozaki you know i don't do that" you say calmly, your team in awe at how you keep a calm attitude "if the suitor doesn't have the guts to face me, then they do not deserve my limited time"
"then you'll entertain if i do right?"
you can hear felix and lily choke over their pizza behind you
"you are not serious" you look at her like she's crazy (she loves being called that, you learn from mina later on)
she gets closer to you, faces barely an inch apart, any slip up from her leaning way to closer over your table and she can just kiss you
"try me, i'll see you at tomorrow's meeting miss vice-president"
when she leaves the office, it takes you and your team a total of 5 minutes to recover
"jesus what the fuck was that"
"ryujin shut up, go back to bickering with lia"
no one has ever said no to the trio
maybe a few people had
they're just not as pretty, charming and confident as you
maybe that's why mina keeps sitting beside you during your shared programming class even oustide 'tutor' hours, why momo's insistent at being beside you in between periods to carry your items on days your classes line up, and why sana shows up in every weekly meeting with an expensive gift or a trinket, challenging each suitor head on.
women like them are gonna be the death of you
"you have some crazy women that like you" jihyo jests beside you, giggling at how sana is glaring daggers at how close you both are. you both are now taking a break along with the rest of the internal team to finalize some papers
"yeah well" you don't like to admit it, but ever since their persistence to always either be near you, you have been starting to crack bit by bit "can't really escape them y'know"
"i think you would look cute with them" jihyo hums, swinging her pen between her fingers, making someone across the table keep her stare at the president "misamo and their girlfriend who sucks ass at karaoke"
"ok that was one time" you huff, jihyo's snickering makes sana look up from her phone, jaw tensing up at how close jihyo is "clearly i let you win because you liked it when tzuyu said she's treat you out if you win right?"
that shuts her up. the said tall woman is at the other side of the room, watching the president's face get red, wondering what you just said to make her like this
"get back to work" jihyo then shoos you away, your laughter making jihyo flip you off before returning to work for herself
before you cam even return to work, your eyes meet sana's, her expression unreadable. you wonder what she's thinking of
you look away, a light blush on your cheeks from her intense stare, busying yourself once more with the papers
to sana, witnessing your smile and laughter rewires her brain, heart pleading with her to speed up whatever this stage the three of them are in. each day that passes drives the three of them crazy
mina is messing up in her calculations, momo is missing her shots and sana is losing her composure on the daily
she needs you. they need you.
when sana heads home that night she keeps thinking about you. even when she lets her girlfriends debate what their late night dinner should be (mina wants tacos, momo is craving for some pasta). she blurts out in the middle of it
"do you think y/n would say yes if we offered her sushi as a late night dinner?"
the two stop at their bickering to look at sana, who's eyes are begging for the next move. she's getting itchy and desperate to make it
"satang" mina reaches out to her, letting sana wrap her arms around her waist as momo hugs them both "did something happen?"
"it's just" sana doesn't even try to hide it at this point, knowing that the three of them are nearing their breaking point "i saw her laugh today and it really made me think that 'i want to make her laugh with us' and i-i don't know but it has been driving me mad"
mina hums in understanding and momo speaks up, ready to take that push
"then let's go"
staying late even after meetings is normal for you to catch up with the papers, but for the past few days, you have been staying late in the office to busy your thoughts
mina hasn't been looking at you in the eye or been acknowledging you
momo hasn't been accompanying you to class
sana hasn't shown up to a single meeting this past two weeks
trying to silence your head, you decided to throw yourself into your extra curriculars every night. this night, you are working alone, the only sounds that you can hear are your aggressive typing on your poor keyboard, the music coming from your small speaker and the voices in your head making your heart ache
and now a knock and the door swinging open
"if you have any concerns please drop them by our social media accounts, email, or even the drop box by the-"
you stop your next words when you look up
mina.
you want to curse at the woman, for deliberately avoiding you. it was worse with her, because at least with the two you didn't have the urge to scream because they simply did not show up.
momo.
even clad in that handsome suit, she's still wearing that jacket you handed over to her. devastatingly handsome and gorgeous, you wonder why did she have to leave you wondering in the noisy university halls
sana.
meetings are still the same, but jihyo keeps on asking why your eyes have been straying, always going back to the door. waiting for that laugh to annoy you, waiting for a snarky remark to any stupid men flirting with you, waiting for anything from her
you really want to throw a chair at them for just showing up now and pissing you off
you don't though, because you missed them
each in their own suit, each with their own gift, each one with a nervous smile that no one will ever see, each one wearing their hearts up their sleeves, and each with the same question you didn't know you wanted to hear until now
"we like you. would you like to go out with us? dinner tomorrow night, our treat"
you can't say no
"you guys are horrible at courting. pick me up at 7"
bonus:
in every first date you've been on, you never come over to your dates home. that changes and ends with them
"hirai" you're trying to keep your breath stable as her hands are playing your hair. eyes hazy, but clearly on you, her self control out the door, just like yours
"myoui" she's behind you, her hands on your waist, murmuring what she's been thinking about for the past days. it's all you, and it makes you melt
"minatozaki" you let her kiss you, silencing your worries and doubts, silencing anything that makes you question them. the heart finally getting what it wants
"you my love, deserve to be ours"

love me or leave me tonight
Does love survive hatred?
angst, angst and angst ; also smut!!! is this even fluff.. ; vampire!sana ; vampirehunter!reader ; violence and stuff ; blood and bloodplay ; sana is manipulative lwk?? ; bondage ; sana has a back tattoo ; degradation ; forbidden love ; friends to ???? ^_^ ; inspired by first kill ; mentions of murder ; voyerism ; happy (very very late) birthday @cry4mina (thiswas supposed to be your bday present), you were probs the person that motivated me the most for writing this so thank you, not proofread!
men dni.
It feels like your wrists are tied together, not being able to move, not at all.
The way she looks at you makes you shiver in fear, tears rolling down your cheeks.
"Please.." you beg her, in such a pathetic tone nobody would be able to make fun of you, instead they would feel bad for you.
Sana always described herself as being different than the others though.
If it is because of her fangs or just her behavior in general that makes her look like a monster, you don't know for sure.
-
You crush the empty beer can and drop it on the floor. Sana hands you a new one and you thank her with a brief nod.
You open it with a crack and take a sip, feeling the fizz and tasting the slightly bitter taste.
It's pretty quiet before you start talking.
"My family is causing stress again.
"Should I pretend to be surprised?" she asks with a light laugh, you laugh a little too.
"Is that why you have bruises and scars?" she adds, looking at the injuries on your face and neck.
Sana - the only person who knows your secret, that you were born into a family of vampire hunters.
"One of the strongest vampire families is said to be here in town," you answer.
Sana - the only daughter of the most famous vampire family.
She knows all your secrets - you know none of hers.
She nods, as if she understands what you are going through.
She lifts her hand and gently strokes the scar on your cheek.
You blush slightly at the close proximity of the two of you.
Just a little more pressure and it would start to bleed, Sana thinks to herself.
She pulls her hand away before she thinks any more about it, before her feelings take over.
Her feelings have always been stronger than her.
Her feelings control her, it has always been like this.
-
"I love you" the words glide easily over her tongue, a smile on her lips.
Even if it's just a whisper - it's a dream for you, as if nothing could happen, nothing could stop you.
Like teenagers in love (that's what you are, teenagers).
"Really?" you ask, in some way you're sure she means it, but you just want to hear it again.
She nods, "I love you so much" she repeats with the same smile.
You take her hand in yours, your thumb gently stroking the back of her hand.
She looks down at your hands, then up at you.
You look into her eyes and move closer.
A kiss.
Gentle, slow, romantic, simply full of emotion.
Full of love.
When your lips part, you both giggle a little, but then you continue kissing.
Further, further, and further.
When your lips (finally) part again, you are both completely out of breath. Your cheeks are slightly flushed.
You both sink into the mattress as you push Sana into her on her back.
She continues to giggle, almost unable to stop, just like you.
You lean over her and kiss her neck. The contact of your lips on her cold neck makes the hair on her arms and neck stand up, her fingers digging into the sheets as you suck on her pulse point.
"Honestly, I have no idea what exactly to do," you confess as you sit on top of her, your hand toys with the hem of her oversized shirt (or rather, your oversized shirt).
"Me neither" she replies with a laugh.
You smile like an idiot as she says this. "Now come here" she says and pulls you down to kiss you again.
You mumble a "may I?" against her lips and tug lightly on her shirt, she responds with a nod and lifts her arms over her head as you pull the shirt over her head and drop it on the floor next to you.
You kiss her soft, smooth skin and take off her sports bra. Your hands slowly massage her breasts, Sana moans slightly and her body presses against yours to feel you and your hands even more and even better.
You slowly kiss further down, over her ribs, her thin stomach with a slightly trained six-pack - down to the waistband of her shorts.
You look up to her and make eye contact.
"Please" she says under her breath, you nod in response, knowing what she wants from you.
You pull them off her, as well as her underwear (that already has a damp spot on it).
You stare at her pretty pussy, you can't help but giggle a little at the view infront of you.
You come closer, inhaling her sweet scent before diving in.
Sana twitches a little at your sudden action, her hands flying to your head in just a second and gripping your hair, leaving a delicious burn.
Your tongue licks her clit, drawing eights on it.
You hope that you're doing a good job, desperately trying to remember how the women in porn do it - how they pleasure the other and making her moan like crazy.
You stop overthinking when Sana lets out a louder moan though.
Your tongue finds her hole, entering and exiting her a little.
"Please...
need your fingers" she moans out.
You smile a little as you part your mouth from her core, now rubbing circles on it with your two fingers.
You kiss her again, your pointer finger dipping into her wetness, making her moan out loud, not being able to kiss you back normally.
Her hands grip the bedsheets, a few veins peeking out from her hand.
You stop kissing her, going down to her neck and leaving wet kisses on it, kissing over the few marks you've left and adding even more to it.
Your second finger enters her, making her let out a high pitched whimper.
Her hips meet your pace and start grinding on your fingers, searching desperately for the pleasure she needs.
"I'm so close... please-" she whimpers, you smirk against her skin and take one of her erected buds into your mouth.
A few thrusts, your thumb on her clit, and your tongue on her nipple send her over the edge as she comes with a loud whine.
You slowly pull your wet fingers out of her, licking them clean as you watch her breathe heavily.
"That was so... wow-" she breathes out.
"You're cute"
-
Love is not forever.
After you met Sana, you actually wanted to think that it was something for eternity.
It would never die out, you would never think of anything but love.
Love, love, love.
Maybe it is really made to last forever - only that after a while you'll love in a different way.
Desperate love.
Loving sadness.
Loving even though you don't really want to.
This love consumes you, makes you think of nothing else but that.
Every situation can remind you of love.
Your brother's death also reminds you of it.
His body lies in a field, in complete darkness.
His eyes open, his gaze full of emptiness.
"What... what happened?" you ask, a slight tremor in your voice.
Your father exhales before answering you.
But instead of telling you like a normal person, he kneels down next to your brother's head and turns his head to the side.
A scar on his neck.
Two holes.
Blood residue next to it, completely dried.
Your mother and sister hug each other, tears running down their cheeks.
"Was it the new vampire family?" you ask.
Stupid question.
"Y/n..
It was Sana," he replies.
What?
"Sana?"
He nods.
You laugh a little, full of frustration.
"It's not funny-... she would never-"
"You can never trust vampires." he says with a stern tone.
He's serious.
Sana, your best friend, your girlfriend for several months.
She killed your brother.
You look at your brother, then at your family.
Your legs move faster than you can think.
You run away, run in a direction you know only too well.
Sana's house.
You take the back entrance to her garden (which you already know well enough) and come across her sitting in a chair.
She looks at you in shock as you look at her.
"Y/n- what are you doing here?" she asks and stands up.
"Is it true?" you ask back, your voice a mixture of fear and anger.
She doesn't say anything at first, but then realizes that you mean exactly what she's been trying to forget since last night.
She nods slowly.
She doesn't deny it, she doesn't try to explain herself.
Whether it's even possible to explain yourself.
Your hand grips the handle of your pocketknife tightly, your hands trembling slightly.
"Y/n... I wanted to tell you... but my parents-"
"They forbid me to see you, but I went ahead anyway because I love you"
You listen to her, for some reason hoping she'll say something good - even though you know that nothing can make this situation any better.
"He was my first victim," she says after an awkward, tense silence.
Her first victim?
"They made me bite him... as punishment"
"I couldn't help it"
"You couldn't help it? What are you saying... Sana, I thought you loved me"
"Where is your common sense?" you ask her, your voice louder and full of despair.
You run towards her, your knife pointed at her as you try to hit her chest.
She dodges quickly, twisting your arm behind your back as you let out a small cry of pain and let the knife drop.
"Y/n..." she says with concern.
Her grip is as if she doesn't even want to do any of this, as if she's being forced by something.
"It's better if you leave," she adds.
She lets go of you (or rather, tosses you) as you fall on the ground, the wet grass soaking through your clothes as you feel the cold.
You look up at her, full of fear.
This is not the Sana you know.
It doesn't feel like you're looking at Sana Minatozaki.
At this moment, it feels like you're in front of an evil person.
Like in a nightmare.
You grab the knife on the floor next to you and stand up quickly, your eyes on her one last time before you run away.
She looks after you, sees your body getting smaller and smaller before you disappear behind a hill.
A tear runs down her cheek, and as she turns around she sees both her parents looking down at her through the second floor window.
Their expressions are cold and disappointed.
Just like always.
And you, you don't stop running.
You run on and on, without a destination, without any idea where you want to go.
Just away from here -
Away from Sana.
-
The music is loud as you walk into the club, your jeans are loose around your waist, your white t-shirt is slightly cropped so that your stomach can be seen a little.
You sit down at the bar and watch the other people dance.
The last time you were here was several years ago,
with Sana.
You were younger back then, still in school, no idea what you wanted to do in the future.
Now you're older, and you know what your goal in life is.
To kill Sana.
To get your revenge.
Your thoughts are interrupted by the bartender asking what you would like to drink, you order a beer and he gives you one and then moves on to other guests.
You drink a little and feel the fizz, tasting the slightly bitter taste of this variety.
The taste reminds you of the countless times you have drunk with Sana.
You look around a little before you see something that almost makes you drop the bottle on the floor.
Sana.
Sana pushing someone against the wall.
Short black hair, lots of tattoos -
She has no idea who exactly she's dealing with.
You leave your bottle at the bar and walk slowly towards them both.
Sana kisses her hard and aggressively, full of energy.
And you can guess why she has so much energy.
Before you can get any closer, Sana turns her head in your direction while turning the woman's head to the side so that she has perfect access to her neck.
Sana grins at you.
And suddenly her lips are stained dark red with blood.
She flashes her fangs at you, completely covered in blood as she slowly licks them clean.
And suddenly she's just gone.
In a millisecond she has bitten her victim, and in a millisecond she is gone without leaving a trace.
Your victim falls to the ground as you run to her to help her somehow.
But it's too late.
You look at her neck and see the same scar you saw on your brother.
While the crowd tries to take care of her, you disappear from the club.
A sigh leaves your lips.
-
"I'll help you," she says, her thumb stroking the back of your hand as she smiles at you.
You have an uncomfortable feeling in your stomach, you feel sick and you're not sure if you should do this at all.
Or if you want to involve Jihyo at all.
She's 10 years older than you - an old acquaintance from your family and a vampire hunter just like you.
She was also your first love.
Actually, it was just a little crush, maybe you mistook it for a close friendship, you were quite young.
The plan of the two of you was pretty simple - go to Sana's house and capture her if possible (you don't want to think about the possibility of killing her).
If your information is correct, her parents are no longer alive.
Rumor has it that she killed them herself.
To be honest, you wouldn't be surprised if it were true.
Jihyo and you make your way to her house, equipped with various weapons.
It is dark, 10 o'clock in the evening. The night is still and quiet.
If only you knew it would change quickly.
You enter the house through the garden, Jihyo has always been good at picking locks.
Your pistol in your hand, you look around carefully as Jihyo walks ahead of you.
She turns right, you look behind you for something, but then you hear something fall.
You turn around quickly and see that "something" is Jihyo.
All you can see is her legs sticking out from behind the wall. You run to her, kneel down on the floor next to her, but the moment you look up-
Sana hits you and you fall over.
-
"Where am I?" you mumble, your head aching as you open your eyes.
You see Jihyo lying on the ground, just a few meters away.
You run to her, or rather, you try to.
Something sharp cuts into your skin and you bite your lip.
You look down at your arms and see that you've been tied to the wall with barbed wire.
"Fuck-" you breathe out, trying not to feel the pain.
You only have your bra on, Sana has undressed you a little, probably so that you only feel more pain.
You try to move as little as possible and look anxiously at Jihyo, who, thankfully, is slowly waking up.
"Jihyo!" you say, she looks at you, then looks around.
This makes you look around.
You realize you're both in a rather large basement.
Jihyo is fully dressed, but her hands are tied behind her back.
Before you can warn her about the corpses you've noticed, the cellar door opens and Sana comes down.
"You're awake, how nice," she says with a smile.
"And Y/n? How do you like the barbed wire?" she asks.
"Fuck you" you just reply, Sana laughs but doesn't really pay attention to you, not like she has her eyes on Jihyo.
And part of you has an inkling of what's about to happen.
Sana sits down on a rather large chair, and with a small wave of her hand, Jihyo lands on her lap, her back against Sana's chest, her eyes locked on yours.
"I really haven't had such a pretty girl on my lap in a long time," Sana says, her hand slowly stroking Jihyo's arm.
You take a deep breath and try to calm yourself down somehow. The situation you, or rather Jihyo, are in can quickly become life-threatening.
"What do you want?" you ask, looking at her and she starts laughing again.
"Blood," she replies. Short, concise, without any emotion. The smile she had on her lips a few seconds ago has disappeared.
She is serious.
Jihyo is still looking at you, her eyes full of fear.
But her look of fear changes. And you don't know what to think except "what exactly is happening here."
Sana whispers something in her ear, and the fear in her eyes disappears.
Sana's hand moves on her body, and then she stops right on Jihyo's core.
Before you can do anything else, you realise what is happening.
And how it's to late to save Jihyo.
You feel like your eyes are fixiated on Sana and how Jihyo sits so obediently on her lap. You're not able to shift your gaze. It's like there is only them - and you're watching them like a movie. Like a perfomance that was made just for you - and you can't stop looking.
This was made for you, and the way Sana forces you to watch them.
Her hand goes past Jihyo's underwear, and suddenly Jihyo is moaning so softly for her. The look on her face just full of arousal.
She has been manipulated.
Something you learned early on - when training to be a vampire hunter.
There's nothing you can do, when you've been trapped under a vampire's spell. Except for one thing -
hope that you won't die.
In Jihyo's case right now, you're not sure what is going to happen in the end.
So you continue watching them, you watch Sana kissing Jihyo's neck, the intoxicating smell of her blood is problably already driving her crazy.
She continues fingering her, her movements speeding up.
She has no intention of giving pleasure to Jihyo - she just waits for the right moment to bite into her neck.
When Jihyo is moaning louder though, and her body twitches closer to Sana, she knows it's happening.
You know too.
"Jihyo!" you yell out, in hopes you're able to somehow get her out of this trance.
It was already to late.
Sana bites into her neck, begins to suck and moan at the fresh taste.
Jihyo screams for help, and you can do nothing but watch as a tear flows down your cheek.
Her lifeless body drops to the ground as soon as Sana is done with her.
She licks her fangs with a smile, smirking at you like she did the night you first saw her again.
She comes closer, taking your jaw into her hand.
"You can't replace me that easily." she whispers seductively.
What?
"What do you mean?" you ask, but she just shakes her head.
"I'll see you soon" she replies, and your eyes fall shut.
-
When you wake up again, you are lying in your bathtub.
You try to move, but notice the pain in your arms from the barbed wire.
You lean your head back and take a deep breath.
To summarize, you watched Sana finger Jihyo and then bite and kill her. Afterwards she tells you that you can't replace her, and now you're here.
Sana knows where you live.
Jihyo is dead.
To say you're overwhelmed is an understatement.
But you know exactly what you have to do, whether it's for you or for Jihyo.
Find Sana.
As you slowly step out of the bathtub, a thought occurs to you.
The evening gala of big companies. If anyone is going to be there, it's Sana.
-
You take another look at yourself in the mirror.
Your black suit fits a little loosely, but hides your scars well.
You get into your car and drive to her house.
How convenient that everything happens in her house.
When you get there, you look around.
There are already a lot of people there and as you walk in, you see various bosses probably talking about certain deals and wanting to do business.
A waiter comes up to you and offers you a glass of red wine, which you gratefully accept.
The taste is bitter, dry, but somehow it reminds you of blood.
How ironic, you think to yourself.
You walk around, having conversations here and there.
"I thought this event was for people with companies," someone says, and as you turn around, you see her.
It's Sana.
Her grin is like a shiver running down your spine.
"I'm not here to conduct business," you reply, drinking the rest of your wine.
Your lips are slightly red and you smile at her.
Your grip on the glass tightens, and before Sana can do anything, it shatters in your hand.
A waiter quickly comes to help you and removes the shards from the floor, you thank her but say you can take care of it yourself.
Drip, drip, drip.
The blood dripping from your hand drives Sana crazy.
"Oops," you say, but before you can turn around and walk away, she grabs your wrist and pulls you along.
Only now do you notice that she has a tattoo.
A pretty big one.
Your eyes are focused on her back, and the kind of detail the tattoo has.
It's as if it reflects her nature.
One side is sunny. You could even describe it as quite cheerful. If you just look at that side, you're just impressed with the work that's been done. You can see the colors and how they flow together. Everything fits well together.
The other side, however, is the complete opposite.
It's dark, makes you nervous. You get an unpleasant feeling when you look at it. The main colors are black and red. It's like a horrible painting, something you would see in a museum and think to yourself "what was the artist thinking?". The longer you look at it, the more scared you get.
But you can't think about her tattoo for long as you are pushed onto a bed.
Sana sits on top of you and the memories of your first time come flooding back.
The only difference is that Sana was tender and sweet, not cruel like now.
Your bleeding hand is still in hers, and maybe you could even see the water pooling in her mouth.
You know that you should be afraid, or that you should hit her, she killed Jihyo, your brother, and she almost killed you.
But in this moment you feel nothing but the will to feel her everywhere.
And she didn't even manipulate or influence you in any way.
You look at her, and then -
you press your hand more towards her.
And she understands what you want from her.
The smirk on her face appears again and pulls you closer.
She closes her eyes and starts to lick the blood of your hand.
For her, this is the best meal she could ever have. To be able to taste your blood was always a dream of hers.
And so she continues doing that, moaning a little when her tongue touches the red liquid coming from your veins.
She does it like she was starving for her life. Like she lived her life for exactly this moment.
She parts from your hand, leaning her head back slowly as if she would be on a high.
When she looks at you again, her pupils are dilated and the look on her face is full of arousal.
You can't blame her, yours is too.
She fumbles with the buttons of your jacket, you push her hands away and do it yourself, just to end up almost ripping it off your body and throwing it on the floor.
She looks at your arms, the way there are marks everywhere because of her.
"Fuck" she curses under her breath, pulling down the zipper of your pants and pulling (or rather - ripping them) off your body.
A groan escapes your mouth when she touches you, squeezes parts of your body that got your mouth hanging open.
A low "need you" leaves your mouth as Sana starts kissing you everywhere, leaving marks all over your body (surprisingly she's not biting you).
She comes closer to your core, and your need to feel her tongue on you is growing stronger and stronger. Your mind is clouded with the thought of her, it feels like you tried to hate her the whole time while you just need her to fuck you.
At this point, you don't even know if you're still in control of your body or if it's Sana.
No matter what, you don't care.
And when continues eating you out, all messy and again, like she was starving, you grip her hair and push her even closer.
Your thighs just pull her closer, trying to feel her even deeper.
The moans that leave your mouth can problably be heard from outside, but you or Sana both couldn't care less.
The way she licks up ever drop of your juices in hunger, her nails digging into your thighs, scratching you and leaving little marks, droplets of blood escape your veins.
You cum into her mouth with a loud moan, your head leaning back and your eyes roll back.
Sana always thought you were beautiful, but right now, in this moment - you definetly are the prettiest.
She doesn't give you any time to calm down as she rises and shoves two of her fingers inside of you, making you grip the bedsheets in surprise.
Your moans loud and messy, your skin covered in sweat, the blood on your thighs that's oozing out of the cuts drives Sana even crazier.
She continues pumping her fingers inside of you, and she leans forward, dragging her tongue over the cuts.
A moan escapes her mouth, and then, she leans closer to you and kisses you, with her lips stained with the dark red liquid.
You kiss her back, but your mouth hangs open when she adds another finger, filling you up.
You two don't even need to talk, the only way you two communicate is through her messy and needy touches - and your desperate moans.
All desperate - for her.
She never stops moving her fingers.
In, out. In, out.
Here faster, there slower.
You already lost every sense of time, like you're lost in the moment.
Your body twitches in sensitivity. Like it's fragile and Sana is overusing it.
You clearly are overstimulated, but Sana just can't stop herself.
Looking at her, seeing how her eyes are fixiated on your naked body, you ask yourself if she is even in control of her own body - or if something, someone else took control.
She doesn't leave you enough time to overthink, when your eyes are met with a black silk cloth.
The last thing you saw.
-
You stare at her grave and only now do you realize how stupid you are.
The stone you sit on is cold. Your eyes focus only on her name.
'Park Jihyo'
A sigh leaves your lips.
Are you disappointing her? Is she looking at you and thinking, "What the hell are you doing?"
Does she think you should be ashamed?
For having sex with Sana,
But even worse -
That you somehow still love Sana.
She killed your brother, she killed Jihyo - so many innocent people.
And despite everything, you can't seem to get rid of your feelings for her.
Your thoughts are always about her, your dreams are all about Sana.
You don't know which feeling is stronger - the hatred for her, for all the things she has done.
Or the love - the memories you can't let go.
Her soft lips on yours, the way her arms held you while you cried.
It makes you break down completly.
All those years you were away, it was all about Sana.
You wanted to get stronger, to beat her, to kill her.
But now it seems that you just want to be with her.
-
The night is dark and cold, everything reminds you of the night you found your brother dead.
The same place, the same time, the same loneliness you felt in your heart.
Instead of running to Sana to confront her, she came to you.
Instead of a calm conversation, you have a knife in your hand.
Her gaze is cold, you're not sure if you can read any emotion in her face.
Empty.
That would be the word you would use to describe her right now.
"What do you want?" she calls into the night, as if she doesn't know where you are.
As if you were looking for her, she speaks as if she had no plans.
"You came here," you answer, trying not to show any of your feelings.
"You confuse me," you say.
She looks at you questioningly.
"I confuse you?" she repeats.
You nod.
"Why are you doing all this?" you ask, but when she tries to answer, you keep talking.
"You come with me... you listen to me when I talk about how the pressure from my parents is getting too much... you don't tell me that you're a vampire." You take a breath and feel the tears in your eyes. You feel this uncomfortable feeling like you're going to throw up. You feel dizzy.
You are overwhelmed.
"You kill my brother," you begin to say, "You kill him, your first victim, because your parents want to punish you?" you laugh a little. Saying it sounds so unbelievable. So grotesque.
"Then, when I come back here after years, I meet you in a bar and you kill someone."
"You kill Jihyo and make me watch."
"And then?-
You have sex with me as if you would love me."
Tears are streaming down your cheeks, you can't stop laughing because this is all so frustrating to you.
You open your mouth to say something else, but then you are pushed to your knees.
Without Sana even touching you.
It feels like your wrists are tied together, not being able to move, not at all.
The way she looks at you makes you shiver in fear, tears rolling down your cheeks.
Are you doing too much or are you genueinly scared of her?
"Please.." you beg her, in such a pathetic tone nobody would be able to make fun of you, instead they would feel bad for you.
Sana always described herself as being different than the others though.
If it is because of her fangs or just her behavior in general that makes her look like a monster, you don't know for sure.
"Can you just stop talking?" she asks you.
Her expression looks different than how it looked like earlier, instead of the emptiness in her face, it looks like she's letting her emotions take over.
You don't know if this should make you even more scared.
But a part of you, a little part,
thinks, or rather, hopes, that she will behave like a decent human.
That she will behave like the girl you loved.
Or still love.
"I did it all for love." she answers.
Quick, short, but instead of that cold tone in her voice, she sounds...
sad?
You look up to her, unable to speak.
"I love you"
She loves you?
Sana?
Loves you?
"I'll never stop feeling the guilt for what I did to your brother"
"But i can't lie to you and say that i regret doing what I did to Jihyo"
"Because all I ever wanted-
was you"
She breaths out, like she just confessed the worst thing in the world.
"I always looked for you, when you left town"
"I searched for you, because I wanted to be with you"
"Despite you hating me"
She lets out a sigh.
"I did what I had to do for you to notice me" she stops talking.
She gets down on her knee, right infront of you to match your height.
Her thumb caresses your cheek, before moving your face to the side to expose your neck to her.
The strong of smell of your blood hits her nose like chemicals.
The intense smell that drives her crazy.
You shiver in fear, not knowing what is going to happen.
She stares at your neck, and the way your veins are so visible, like they're calling for her.
Everything she ever dreamed of, was to taste your blood.
But she doesn't want to bite you because of that.
She opens her mouth, flashing her fangs.
You try to somehow escape her spell, so that you can save yourself, but it isn't possible.
She sinks her fangs deep into your skin, you let out a scream when you feel her sucking your blood out of you.
You're finally able to move and try to grab her arm to somehow get her to stop.
"I don't want to die" you whisper, your voice full of weakness.
Until you realise -
Sana isn't planning on killing you.
But to make you a vampire.

Park Jihyo - Supermarket Antics
Pairing: Jihyo x fem!reader
Synopsis: Jihyo rarely feels jealousy, so she was definitely not expecting to feel it on the line of the supermarket.
Warnings: I don't think there are any, it's fluff
w/c: 800
a/n: This is my first work! I’m really excited for people to read it! I really appreciate criticism so that I can do better next time, so if you have any please let me know :) English is not my first language, so pls be kind
Also, a million thank yous to my pookie @neoplatinum and to the lovely @cry4mina for the encouragement and for reading it first <33
Jihyo usually prides herself on not having an ounce of envy and on being confident in her relationship. She was never the jealous type, she knew you loved her as much as she loved you, and there was nothing to be insecure about.
Right now, she can't help but roll her eyes and huff in irritation. She’s watching this little kid stare at her girlfriend with big puppy eyes and a dopey smile.
At first, you both don't notice the younger's antics, too preoccupied with each other. That is until you look to your left and end up locking eyes with the boy.
After noticing that he had your attention, he couldn't help but shy away from your gaze, pressing himself to his dad before shyly looking back at you, making you break into a beautiful smile (something that usually had Jihyo weak in the knees).
A giddy grin spreads across your face before raising your hand and waving your fingers at him, making him blush even more before waving back while hiding himself in his father's legs.
As you keep interacting with the little boy, she watches you silently coo and melt at the boy's cuteness, making her, melt at your behaviour.
Unfortunately for the kid, he also locks eyes with Jihyo but instead of sweet greetings and cute interactions, she can't help but pull a face and wiggle her fingers in a scary-like manner.
Fortunately for her, instead of blushingly hiding into his dad, his eyes widen, and he turns around, no longer having the desire to interact with the older girls.
In no time, the boy was on his way with his dad, and the two of you were in your car on the way home after unloading all the groceries.
"You know I saw that, right?"
Jihyo quickly glances at you, not wanting to take her eyes away from the road for too long, seeing your disapproving glare.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she says innocently.
"You're mean, you know that?" you ask poking her gently.
"C'mon, it's not like I'm gonna give him nightmares! It was harmless, and I'm not even scary," she says, trying to defend herself.
"Maybe it'll help him build character? Know when not to flirt with women?"
You can't help but snort at her childish excuse before bursting into laughter.
"Are you jealous of a little boy smiling at me?"
She scoffs at that.
"And why would I be jealous of a small child?" she asks, repeating that to herself to understand why she tried to scare away the kid.
You only shrugg at that with a small smile still lingering on your face.
After arriving home and unloading everything, she finds herself on the couch with your back pressed against her and her arms surrounding you.
“You know, I only have eyes for you”, you say, turning to face her, making her groan.
“I was not jealous of a child,” she says looking up, avoiding your gaze, making you softly laugh at her antics before kissing her jaw.
After a while of just you both basking in each other’s warmth, you can’t help but quietly laugh again after remembering how she behaved earlier.
“You’re not gonna let this go, are you?” she asks, whining, burying her face into your hair.
“Hm… eventually,” you say, slightly detaching yourself from her and cupping her face gently, leaning in before letting your lips meet hers softly.
She gently holds your neck, pulling you closer, trying to eliminate any space left between you two. You pull away from her lips for air, not far away enough so that your lips stop touching hers, not being able to completely pull away from her touch.
“It’s cute that you’re like this. It’s not every day that I get to see you glaring at someone because you’re not the only one holding my attention, even if that someone is a little boy”
She only pouts at that before stealing another kiss from you, nuzzling into your cheek right after.
“You know… You’re pretty good with kids” she says looking at you with puppy eyes, making you laugh.
“Now you like that I’m good with kids?” you ask her, teasingly pushing her back.
“Well, you know…” she says, now sporting a kind of dopey smile, “just in case in the future you might want to take that route… I think you’d be pretty good at it” she finishes looking sweetly at you, making you melt with the direction of the conversation.
Unable to think about a normal response, you only return her dopey grin and return to your previous position, leaning into her and letting yourself be engulfed by her warmth, with the lingering thought of building a future with the girl who currently holds your entire heart.

let it snow (x3)
sana x gn!reader
« silly series - 18 »
synopsis - why would sana want to daydream of the day she met her partner when she relives it every few weeks? (but she’d really like to stop having to arrest you)
wordcount - 1.4K
T/W - nothing except the police i guess. oh and blood kinda but nothing crazy.
A/N - 🧍♀️. go thank @cry4mina for the comeback they bullied me into with this. jingle slay to you all💃
Oh, the weather outside is frightful.
White coated trees, blanketed grass, booted up kids throwing snowballs at each other, missing their target but not the innocent passersby struggling with black ice.
You love when the lyrics match the scene. After all, who doesn’t love relating to something. Even as small as a snowflake. That good old feeling of being linked, cuffed to something bigger than yourself.
Something that matters. That proves you exist. That you’re alive.
“You’re under arrest for trespassing and damage of property. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you’ll say can and will be—”
“—used against you in a court of law.” You finished alongside her. “I know, sweetheart, I keep hoping to see you there.”
You smirked, twisting your neck as best you could to get a glimpse of her. The reason you feel alive, cuffing you for the third time in two months.
You caught her rolling her eyes, and your lips stuttered out a dumb joke between your own giggles. Something about reliving this scene in a much more comfortable place last time…
“Shut it, I’m serious.”
Her voice was sharp, but you saw that corner of her lips move up as she tightened the cuffs. The cold metal bit into your wrists, and the winter air nipped at your flushed skin, but that chill down your spine? Nothing more than the thrill of the game.
“Oh, you’re serious?” you teased, turning your head again just enough to catch her glare. “Then why are your ears turning red, officer?”
“They’re red because it’s freezing, not because I’m amused by your antics,” she shot back, tugging you upright and guiding you towards the waiting patrol car.
“Antics?” you repeated, stumbling slightly on the icy sidewalk. “All I did was entertain the neighborhood kids. What’s wrong with a little community service?”
“Community service?” Sana stopped short, pulling on your cuffed hands to make you face her. Nothing funny about the furrowed eyebrows hardening her gaze, yet there you were, grinning like an idiot. “You whacked a window with a baseball bat, trespassed—again, and got into a fight with the homeowners.”
“First of all,” you scoffed, “the ball was a snowball. The bat? Snow baseball regulation standard. And the fight was crazy, like I went to apologize and they started hitting me—do you not see the bruising!?”. Your voice raised in pitch as you fought your restrained limbs, desperately trying to point out the spots that stung on your lips and cheek. “Why don’t you book them for assault too, huh?”
Sana raised an eyebrow, her eyes flicking over your face to notice the small bleeding cut on your top lip and the faint, pinkish bruise on your cheekbone.
Enough to pick at her heart, messing with the rhythm of its beats for a hot second before her brain took over. She scoffed at the sight, “Nothing crazy, only you.”
“Wow.”
“Done?”
You took a deep breath, finally taking your eyes off her before letting it all out in an exaggerated sigh. Just to put it out there, make it known you’re annoyed. “Fine… let’s go.”
Sana didn’t hide the smirk tugging at her lips, pushing you forward with a sharp motion. Her fingers were still firm around your wrist, and it was the only thing you could focus on despite the doom walk towards the patrol car.
“You know I really wish you’d stop getting yourself arrested to see me,” she said, her voice laced with that professionalism you both knew she was barely holding onto.
“It’s not like I do it on purpose…” you mumbled before giggling. “But it’s our thing I guess. You, arresting me, cuffing me… It’s like fate,”you teased, nudging her with your shoulder. “Come on, admit it. I spice up your boring shifts.”
Her pace didn’t falter, the crunch of snow beneath your shoes was the only sound for a moment, but you didn’t let up. Barely holding on but very tightly… “There’s nothing boring about my shift. The only thing you’re doing is giving me a headache,” she shot back. Her eyes flicked back to your face, softening for just a second before she steeled herself again. “You’re lucky I don’t add ‘wasting my time’ to the list of charges.”
“You’d never,” you chuckled. “You care too much.”
“About my job? Yes,” she retorted, already pulling you towards the car again.
“About me.”
This time she did falter, for just a second, but she recovered quickly, shoving you into the back seat with as little care as possible.
“Ow! Where’s the damage control, officer?” you whined, shifting uncomfortably. “Aren’t you supposed to make sure I’m okay? Get me a band-aid or som—”
Sana’s exasperated sigh cut you off as she leaned into the open door, one hand gripping the top of the frame while the other rested on her hip. “You’re unbelievable, you know that?”
“So I’ve been told,” you shrugged, flashing her a grin.
Her jaw tightened, but there was something in her eyes, something softer. She knew she was fighting a losing battle, so she glanced over her shoulder, scanning the snowy street for any sign of too curious passersby. Nothing but snow and the same busy people fighting for their lives on black ice so she turned back to you, finally mirroring your smile.
“You really don’t know when to shut up, do you?”
“Can you blame me if this is what I get from it?”
For a heartbeat, you thought she might laugh it off. Maybe roll her eyes, slam the door, and drive you straight to the precinct like last time. But then she leaned in, her hand still braced on the car as her face hovered inches from yours.
And then she kissed you. Time froze. Everything stilled but your lips, allowing her to give into the warmth of her desires.
Her kiss was soft, lips pressing gently against yours, mindful of the bruising on your mouth. The faint sting of your split lip was nothing, a mere distraction from the delightful fire she’d lit up inside your heart.
If anything that pain made it real, kept you in touch with reality while this ridiculous rom-com moment unfolded. The cold touch of her free hand hovering on the side of your neck did a great job too, her thumb grazing your jawline.
She pulled away first, but she stayed close, her breath mingling with yours. Her gaze flickered to your lips from your eyes, “You’re bleeding again.”
You chuckled, nodding your head towards her mouth, “Yeah well, you’ve got some too.”
She blinked, bringing her hand up to her lips, “What,” she swiped her thumb on her lips, gasping softly at the faint smear of red. “Great.” she muttered, grabbing a tissue from her pocket.
“You know, you should be careful with these things,” you teased, grinning despite the ache in your lip. “What are they gonna say if we walk into the precinct and your captain sees that?”
Sana’s head snapped up, her glare weakening at the sight of your smile. “Don’t even joke about that.”
“No but think about it. Just walking in with matching bloody lips, Jihyo jumping you for sleeping with the perp,” you giggled at your own joke before continuing, “Maybe you should just let me go. I’ll cook tonight and put it behind us.”
She paused for half a second, tissue still pressed to her lips as your words registered. “Right, because that wouldn’t look suspicious at all.”
You sighed, throwing your head back dramatically. “Sana just please let me go,” you whined again, drawing out the words in hopes to tug at the bit of sympathy you knew she felt for you.
Only for her to roll her eyes. And instead of answering and bickering some more, she leaned back and reached back for the edge of the door.
“Sana—”
The door slammed shut with a thud, cutting off your protests for good.
You watched through the window as she rounded the back of the car. When she slid into the driver’s seat she seemed composed enough, but you could see the faint pink dusting her cheeks.
She refused to look at you.
The car soon started to fill the silence with the soft hum of the heater, and you leaned forward, trying to catch her eye in the rearview mirror.
“You’re awfully quiet,” you said as the engine came to life, “Thinking about dinner already?”
“Shut up.”

Auction
momo x fem reader
angst, suggestive
Momo is the highest bidder in your auction. She’ll always be.
a/n: a scrapped draft of mine from 2 years ago! also thank you @cry4mina for the push to post!
Momo wonders if this is the love she really wants.
Questions if waiting, staring at her phone until your name appears, is truly worth it. Hopes she lives in your thoughts as persistently as you linger in hers. Wishes her heart would stop clouding her mind.
You’re both the best and worst she’s known. Maybe even her downfall. And she knows it.
Yet, she’s quick to answer your call.
How could she let you go? A quiet voice insists that you’re different, that you’re special. That you know exactly how to make her feel wanted, and she can’t shake the memory of you both undressed.
She remembers your gaze, the way you look at her like she’s the only one.
She knows she’s in deep.
“Hey, beautiful,” you say over the phone, your voice smooth and familiar.
Momo presses her lips together, steadying herself. There’s something in your tone that warms her, that pulls her in without effort.
“Hey, are you com—” She catches herself, unwilling to sound too eager. You always seem to leave her brokenhearted anyway. Maybe if she holds back, just a little, it’ll change something. “I mean, what’s up?”
You chuckle softly, the sound easy, affectionate.
It unsettles her.
“Wondering if I’m coming over? I’ll be there soon, baby.”
Her pulse quickens.
Fuck.
She hates it.
A soft moan escapes her as your lips trace the curve of her jaw, teeth grazing her earlobe, your breath warm against her skin as you murmur how much you’ve missed her.
With you above her, every inch of your body pressing down, her breath grows heavy. Your hands explore her skin slowly, tenderly. She arches up toward you, letting out a whimper as your lips trail down her chest, igniting something deep within her.
Then suddenly, the buzz of your phone cuts through the quiet, snapping her back to reality. She watches your gaze shift to the screen as the notifications light up—again, then again—each one a reminder of the others who wait, who think they have a piece of you.
Her stomach twists, a pang of jealousy sparking as she realizes what it means. She knows exactly who’s messaging you right now, knows it’s all those others who think they’re just as close to you as she is. Her heart races, and she almost pulls away, ready to push you off, but then she notices you hesitate, just for a second, before dismissing the phone entirely, letting it clatter to the floor.
You turn back to her, hands sliding firmly along her waist, pulling her closer. “I’m all yours,” you murmur, your lips finding the sensitive spot just below her ear. She gasps, hands gripping your shoulders as a soft, involuntary whine escapes her.
She bites her lip, trying to regain control, but the thrill of being chosen, of knowing she’s the one you’re with right now, fills her with a wicked satisfaction.
She’s the highest bidder in your auction.
She pulls back slightly, looking into your eyes, a smirk playing on her lips as she whispers, “All mine, huh?” Her hand reaches up to the back of your neck, her fingers slipping into your hair as she pulls you closer. “Good,” she purrs, leaning up to catch your bottom lip between her teeth, biting it gently, a possessive edge in the way she holds you there before finally releasing.
She feels the shift in your energy as your hands tighten on her. You lean in, kissing her lips hard. All the doubts, all the others, fade away as she lets herself revel in the fact that, at least for now, she’s the one who has you all to herself.
~~~
Momo lies there in the quiet after you leave, staring up at the ceiling, trying to chase away the ache that’s started to settle in her chest. The warmth of your touch lingers on her skin, like a ghost she can’t shake, a reminder of what just happened—and what always seems to happen. She picks up her phone, scrolling through the empty screen, already hoping for a message that she knows probably won’t come.
Hours pass, then days, and the silence from you stretches on, but she keeps checking, keeps waiting, convincing herself that this time you’ll reach out first, that maybe something’s changed. Yet, the pattern repeats itself, and the truth becomes impossible to ignore. Momo knows she’s just another option, one of many. She’s painfully aware of the game you play, but she can’t bring herself to step away from it.
Finally, one night, her phone lights up with a notification. She grabs it without hesitation, her heart skipping a beat at the sight of your name. It’s just a simple, “Hey,” but it’s enough to pull her right back in, to erase the days of silence like they never happened. She tells herself she should ignore it, let you see what it feels like to be left waiting. But, just like always, she can’t resist. She replies, her heart already racing, her mind filling with the possibility that maybe this time will be different.
You don’t waste any time. Within minutes, you’re calling her, your voice smooth and familiar, wrapping around her like a warmth she’s craved. “Miss me?” you ask, the question laced with that same teasing charm you know will hook her.
She wants to tell you how much it hurt when you disappeared, how tired she is of the push and pull, but the words won’t come out. Instead, she just breathes a small laugh, masking the vulnerability she hates showing. “You wish,” she replies, forcing herself to sound casual, as if she hasn’t spent days waiting just to hear from you.
You laugh softly, your voice so easy, so unaffected, and it stings, but she lets herself fall into it. She tries to convince herself that she’s in control, that she can play the game too, but deep down, she knows the truth. The moment you ask to come over, she’ll say yes, and she’ll be right back where she started, hoping for a different ending to a story that’s always the same.
And sure enough, when you say, “I’ll be there in a few,” she can’t stop herself. “Alright,” she whispers, trying to hide the tremor in her voice, the relief that’s impossible to disguise.
Hanging up, she catches her own reflection in the mirror across the room and sees the longing in her eyes, the same expression she wore the last time you left, and the time before that. She knows this isn’t what love should look like, that it shouldn’t feel like this constant ache, this endless waiting.
But when you finally show up at her door, giving her that familiar smile, all her defenses fall away. The questions, the doubts—they’re pushed aside as she pulls you inside, letting herself forget, if only for a little while, the reality she’s too scared to face.
And as you hold her, she tells herself again that this time will be different, even as a quiet voice in her mind reminds her how this will end. Because deep down, she knows that as soon as the night is over, you’ll leave, and she’ll be right back where she started, waiting by her phone, hoping for a message that might never come.
under the gloomy dark sky
chou tzuyu & fem!reader // running away from ur job lol
special mention to @cry4mina! i actually wrote this piece with the playlist she made for me. hi B!! thanks for casually putting spiritbox in this playlist i love ur music taste. anyway enjoy and stream abouTZU <3
when you thought of having to run away from the watchful eyes of the agency right after accomplishing your 10 month long mission, you didn't account for the fact that you had to take care of a kitten while running
wrapped around your scarf, the kitten stares right at you. you who is running past through the dark forest, barely any light letting you guide your path. each curse word you mutter in between breaths is met with a kitten's meow, a conversation happening despite the dire situation
"not now" you hold it close to your chest, muffling the meows it's giving to you "you can complain later when we escape"
with each turn in the forest, your face gets starched by random branches. closer and closer to the jump point, you start to mutter the spell, the magic dust your trail and it takes the whipser of a name for you both to get teleported
the report says that during the chase, the men only found traces of your powers and a ring of blue flames left behind
in your case, you yelp as the teleportation does the trick, landing you at the mansion's lawn, chou tzuyu looking up from her cup of tea from the balcony, barely any emotion at your sudden presence
the emotions came out when you are ushered inside and she takes a proper look at you, mortified at your state. the scratches on your face, the blood on your hands and the lingering scent of you
"did you use the spell that chaeyoung specifically said to only to use with someone with you?" tzuyu is stressed as she follows you to a random bathroom in the first floor, trying to find a first aid kit "y/n you know how dangerous it is to do spells on your own!”
"it was an emergency" you try to focus on the task at hand, sighing in relief when you find a bathroom, knowing tzuyu’s role keeps everything stocked up
“still you could have gotten into a worse situation!”
"meow!"
tzuyu then only realizes that you brought along a companion, the gray kitten that was wrapped around your scarf like 10 seconds ago before escaping your grasp is now approaching her, deciding to wait by her feet
“she climbed on my shoulders right before i bolted out of the site” you mutter, head still spinning at the thought of the chase, the effects of the spell still strong
tzuyu barely looks at you now, only focusing at the kitten demanding for her to be picked up with the amount of meowing it's doing
slowly as you wipe the blood of your face and disinfect the wounds by the sink, she picks up the kitten. carefully sitting down on the tiled floor, eyes starry as she stares at the purring kitten
"wasabi" tzuyu announces, just as you are applying your special ointment jeongyeon made before your mission for ‘any reason you might get injuries’
“you want to name the kitten wasabi? a grey kitten wasabi?”
“yes” you scoff at the mood switch, but leave it at that, taking a suddenly fascinated tzuyu over any scolding session
as you let the ointment do it’s job, you shift your attention on the woman on the floor, now playing with the kitten, who is now affectionately named wasabi
as you take in her appearance, it’s apparent the only thing that changed was her clothes. her features pretty much the same, barely aging by the day. her eyes still shimmer like they do, her presence still mysterious, and her fangs still peaking out every time she coos at the kitten
you stare at the vampire a bit longer before you speak up, both her and the kitten looking at you now
“you don’t happen to still have stock of non vampire food in your fridge right?”
tzuyu rolls her eyes before leading you to the kitchen. she places down the kitten at the dining table, letting it now meow at you, demanding to be picked up while she rummages for some food
you instead play with wasabi, letting its paws hit your arms and face as many times it wishes. it’s claws barely harming you
“here, nayeon came by to drop off some of this for me to try. please do give your feedback, she’s been demanding for anyone but me to try her food”
tzuyu places down a warm bowl of rice and some meat. what meat it is you don’t care, as you give a piece to wasabi and start chomping it down
“thank you, she must have knew my mission was about to end” you hum at the taste, admiring nayeon’s cooking “did momo help make this?”
“probably” tzuyu shrugs as she takes a seat beside you “nayeon did say momo has been training her well since she asked her to teach her”
you can’t reply back, only devouring your food messily, and yet, tzuyu stares at you lovingly, the nights away from each other finally over
“welcome back home witch”
“good to be back home vamp”
vampire mina please chose me pick me bite me 🥺🥺🥺
Spite
(Vampire!Mina x fem!reader)
Word Count: 4K
Smut
Disclaimer/Summary: this was literally the first thing I ever wrote and sent to a former mutual who will not be named before I started this blog. It was sent to provide points of interest for a specific type of smut they didn’t know how to write.
Since credit wasn’t given when stated it would be- I’ve decided to unearth it from the messages, tweak it, add to it and post it. So if it seems familiar, know that this was what was originally sent to help spark SOME of the ideas for that fic, specifically.
The context of this is reader is trying to save Mina from her alter ego vampire “Sharon” who can hypnotize people and bend them to her will. Reader has feelings for Mina but was unaware of the powers Sharon holds. Mina was chained up before to avoid Sharon hurting anyone. But uhm…she didn’t stay that way.
TW: aggressive smut, vampires, blood, straps, choking, mind control, hypnosis, cursing, feral fucking lmao lemme know if i missed anything!
A/N: Shout out to those who encouraged me to finish this and also @nr1chaedickrider @miinatozakiii @namojoon for also contributing to the subject matter of the fic this went into! 🖤
And a shout out to @ghostykapi for helping me find some pictures for this! 🖤
Your eyes flicker open to a slurry of lightning flashing. The sounds of rain and thunder jolted you of a glorious dream of you and Mina. A wet dream, soft and sweet, passionately tangled together in a heated scene. It felts so real, it’s shame it wasn’t.
Hands reaching up to wipe the slumber off your face. You kicking your feet out of the warm sheets and sit up, yawning and stretching to pull the rest out of your bones and forget the dream you wished you stayed in a little longer.
Unable to remember falling asleep, the last thing you recall is Mina in chains and then everything going black. Chaining her down to the floor to keep her safe was the only option to protect not just you, but everyone around you too.
The difference between Mina and Sharon was night and day.
Mina was caring, kind, and full of love. A warm wave of safety that never ceased to amaze you in how pure she was.
Sharon was malevolent, disturbing, and evil. An iced entity of stoicism that was bloodthirsty and power hungry. Willing to do anything and everything to get what she wants. Chaining her down was the only way to keep her from feeding. Unnecessary death was always to be avoidable as long as she was chained up and away from everyone.
Sharon was powerful already, being able to use hypnosis on those around her with her eyes and touch, manipulating to gain whatever she could. Dangerous, seductive, and violent.
A hint of copper in your mouth makes your face contort, confused on how the metallic flavor was present against your taste buds. Rolling your tongue around mindlessly, trying to figure out if you had a cut in your mouth, you stand up the concern on your face palpable when you realize you don’t know where you are.
An unfamiliar room with large floor to ceiling windows, giving you a view of the storm raging outside. The bed was large with a black wood and a filigree pattern up the canopy supports. Sheets of satin, night stands that matched the frame, the room was dark in design and eerie in feeling.
The feeling of being watched makes you shiver, grabbing your own arms to hold yourself in the discomfort.
“Good Morning, Y/n.” heard creeping out of the shadows, startling you out of your own head, forcing you to fully wake faster than you normally would.
Another shiver down your spine, you recognize the voice, and pan the room to see a glow of red eyes and the faint pale face of Mina.
Sharon had already taken over her, the infected half of her DNA with a mind of it’s own. Using Mina’s body for her own gain, seducing people to lure them in and goring them before they even had a second to realize what was happening.
You take a step back but she matches your movements. You look for an exit in a panic, not knowing the danger that you could be in when it hits you. The eye contact that causes a surge of desire, running hot in your veins, rendering you tense. Your thoughts are haunted by lewd ideas of her…just like the dreams you were having only moments ago but with more of a sadistic twist.
“You really thought it wouldn’t come to this?” She grinned, voice contorting to a slightly deeper tone, giving an unfamiliar tang to the face you see in your dreams.
“I always thought you’d fight back a little harder…maybe actually try to do something about me…” Pacing as she speaks, admiring how you wince at her words. She knows she can’t be stopped especially because of how you felt about Mina. She did have her face after all.
“How do you feel?” the rhetorical question she asks almost passes you by.
You’re too busy blankly staring at her to see how she’s is sizing you up like a snake about to consume a meal after a long while. Her gaze burns a hole into your chest, the heat rising through the beaming chasm that once was where your heart sat, now all consumed by manipulative lust and yearning for her.
“What do you mean “how do I feel?”” trying to play it like you weren’t scared shitless and insatiable, completely soaked in your own arousal as the flashes of her on top of you pass through your mind.
She giggles and steps closer.
The realization hits that there is no escaping this while she is in front of her, her eyes hypnotic in the way they stay on you. You’re losing your sense of self by the second.
There’s no escaping her.
“Don’t you taste it?” She’s just toying with you now, playing with her food before it’s consumed.
Your eyes widen when you grasp what she’s hinting at.
“W-Who am I tasting?” A sudden clash of thunder reverberates in the room, lightening flashes through the windows, erasing the shadows and allowing you to see her blood stained lips.
She continues watching you without blinking to see if you flinch at the sounds. The hunger in her crimson laced eyes was intimidating and indecipherable. Lust fueled or blood driven, you were unsure. Was this just apart of her plan? Bring you here while you were asleep to seduce you and then…death?
“That would be me, actually.”
Sharon maneuvers her hair, shifting it from one shoulder to the other to show the imprint of your teeth in her neck. A normal human teeth bite mark into her neck…you don’t remember doing that. More importantly, what happens to a human when they drink vampire blood?
“You chained me up…I didn’t like that very much. I’m sure you understand.” She leans against the wall, watching you in a predatory way. Taking every slight movement in, making sure to look up at your eyes to keep you under her spell.
Pulling at your shirt to detach it from your body, her eyes on you makes you feel like you’re being hunted, creating a flash of heat within you.
A small chuckle leaves her mouth menacingly as she watches you remove the article of clothing.
“While you were under my spell, I saw everything. Your thoughts…your feelings…your fantasies…” Pausing for a moment to watch the embarrassment fall over your face, knowing that she had seen the dreams of Mina, from the soft sweet ones to the vile filthy ones.
“They intrigued me.” sauntering over to you, placing a finger under your chin exposing a wound on your neck that she had left before you woke up.
Cocking your head at the statement, pulling your face out of her hands as you furrowed your brows in confusion and try to exact your free will and get out before it’s too late.
Even with the ache between your legs urging you to make a move, this wasn’t Mina…this was someone who just looked like Mina…even though you were fighting your desire of her, it was still very much present and you did not want to give in so easily.
“My mark looks good on you…maybe if you’re a good for me, I’ll give you another” her voice drenched in a possessive tone, the inflection of ownership on you rattled you all the way down to your core.
“Excuse me?” You spat, trying to put up a fight against this supernatural trance she’s put you in.
Sharon cupped your face and looked deep within you, violating the privacy of your thoughts. Intrusion into your brain, into your soul.
“I’ve seen it all, you know….Your fantasies about me, the way you dream of me. It’s so pathetic, really.”
Removing her hand from you and turning her back to walk to the door and lock it by the knob and the deadbolt fixated to the frame.
“I’m going to turn you into my play thing.” Hissed with bated breath, spinning around so rapidly that it created a gust of hellish wind.
“When I'm done with you, you’ll only be able to say my name…I’ll remove all those thoughts out of your head until you’re just my worthless toy… Since you’re so desperate for her to touch you…I figured why not show you how she can really be!”
In one swift movement, “Mina” is in front of you with her hand tightly squeezing your throat, digging her nails into the sides of your neck and baring her fangs in an attempt to get you to submit.
It surprises you how much you’re enjoying this, even hating to admit it to yourself. The idea of Mina being rough with you had consumed your thoughts a few times, you just never thought it would be Sharon to enact them.
Pulling at her hands to get her off of you, her other hand swings and smacks you across the face. She knows your thoughts, she knows you want this and the slap was another attempt to get you to see that she was in control and you had no choice but to let her have her way with you.
Bringing your own hand up to cup your cheek, feeling the heat emanating off the slowly developing red mark, you can’t help but wince at the sting.
Swinging your hand out to slap her back, she leans out of the way causing you to completely miss. She had the dominance that you craved but the urge to fight back was louder than the pulsing between your thighs.
“Mina” tightens her grip on your neck, causing your breath to hitch and almost stop completely as she glares into your eyes, the red storms of putrid rage clashing around matching the weather outside.
“Don’t. Do that. Again.” Gritted through her sharp fangs.
She squeezes one last time and then lets go, dropping you to the floor. You collapse and on your knees, gasping for air and trying to remove the vile thoughts you are having about her.
“I can see those…” Looking up to see her alluringly evil smirk painted across her face, a seductive horror anthology was about to take place. This grin was your warning.
Mina licks her lips and pounces, fully knocking you to the floor, straddling you right above your waist to keep you locked into place.
You’re at her mercy, wrapped around her finger, and completely hypnotized by her spell.
Fangs out and hissing as you attempt to struggle underneath her. She forcefully stretches your hands above your head and pins you down with only one of hers. When did she get this strong?
She kisses you roughly, a striking contrast to the Mina you were used to. Moaning into her mouth, you feel the heat that has been building between your thighs. Avoiding clenching them together, you try to use your strength to push her up to get a better angle.
Her hands slowly trailing up your torso, making sure to drag her nails over your fabric covered nipple just to hear you mewl at her touch.
Hand now wrapped around your throat again, she stands up and drags you with her, and tosses you onto the bed.
The frame rattles against the wall and the softness of the blankets welcome you back sooner than expected.
Quickly mounting your waist once more, hands returning to your throat causing you to nervously swallow at what’s to come.
Sharon leans in to your ear and growls “I’m going to ruin you.”
A third shiver travels through your body and you use every ounce of strength to lift Mina off of you and flip her around on her back.
In this moment, your brain is clouded with desire for the person underneath you, thoughts so intense that your efforts to shake the thoughts out were failing and you needed to try to leave before you succumbed to Sharon’s lust driven needs.
You jump up and head toward the exit but halt immediately when you feel a hand on the back of your neck.
Head spun around for you vigorously, you’re met with eyes glowing red. Mindlessly hypnotized by how deep the pools of crimson.
Slick leaking down your thighs as you rip your bra off and toss it, not caring where it landed.
Why is your body laying down without you telling it too?
She’s so stunning, you need her…Lost in the swirling red that sliced through your hopes of escape.
Within seconds, Sharon’s mouth was on your neck again. Dragging her teeth and hissing possessively. Groaning softly at the sensation of her warm fangs over the bite mark that was already present.
Your hand wraps around the back of her head, fingers weaving through her hair. Your chests are pressed against each other in the heated whirlwind of the moment. Wanting nothing more than for her to touch you. Anywhere and everywhere.
You let go, allowing her to take you, how ever she wanted.
She felt your submission and smiled fangs fully out and grazing the skin of your neck, leaving small cuts at how razor sharp they were, blood dribbles out slowly. She licks the cuts clean, humming at the taste of your life force.
“You belong to me now” growled at you, causing you to clench around nothing.
SMACK
The sound of her slapping your breast echoes in every corner of the room. Red welts appeared on your chest as she bent down to take your nipple into your mouth. Roughly abusing you as you squirmed underneath her.
You can feel how absolutely ruined your underwear is and shift uncomfortably, trying to unstick yourself from the cloth. Sharon notices and stands up, removing contact from you. Eyebrow furrowing at the lack of touch, you let out a needy whine as she watches and towers over you.
“Take your pants off” crossing her arms and waiting. You hesitate. She grabs you by the face hostilely, pinching your cheeks between her index finger and thumb.
“If you don’t take them off, I’ll rip them off of you. I need to know what you taste like.”
You cocked your eyebrow, challenging her. Pursing your lips as if to dare her. She scoffed and ripped your pants right off your body. The sound of the rip only makes the wet spot on your underwear grow even larger, the craving you had for her was unbearable.
Aggressively pushing you back down on the bed, throwing you around effortlessly like a rag doll. She crossed her arms again, glaring at you.
“Don’t move or you’ll fucking regret it” Sternly, the malice present in her tone, before gracefully strutting towards the dresser in the corner, removing all remaining clothes as she made her way over to it.
You hear a soft demonic whine from the other side of the room.
Sharon returned hastily with a device already fixed at her hips, other end of the double ended strap on already inside her. Her thighs glistening in the sleek essence dripping from her core.
Coasting your tongue on your bottom lip as an invitation, you hunger for her.
Suddenly, your legs are pressed against your chest, her knees on either side of your hips, hands pinning your arms above your head, and she’s biting your collarbones and chest leaving trails of fang marks behind in a scattered pattern.
You wince at the pain, feeling yourself falling into the subspace as she navigated around your chest. Slowly descending down to tug on your nipples with her teeth which transitions to licking and sucking the cuts her fangs leave on your tits and listening to you whine for more.
“Please I need y-“ you started to beg for her when she grabs your waistband and rips your underwear clean off your body revealing your soaked state of yearning for her.
“Oh, fuck” breathily escapes your lips.
Sharon takes the tip of her strap and glides it against your slit, eliciting more primal sounds out of you.
“Awh, look at you. Desperate and pathetic for me….or for her…this is your fantasy, no? Don’t you just want her to tease you…to take what’s hers? Too bad I’ll get there before she does.”
It’s hard to hear her talk about Mina like this, knowing it was her body touching you, but she wasn’t present, only this succubus fronting in the warmth of her.
Sharon takes her strap and smacks your clit with it a few times, splattering your slick and returns to sliding it up and down against you. You lift your hips in the same rhythm as her thrusts, unable to look away from the intense eye contact had between the two of you.
“Don’t worry about what she thinks.” reading your mind yet again, at this point you don’t even care she’s being so intrusive.
All you want is her.
All you need is her.
“Mina is enjoying the show.”
She guides the tip to your entrance, pushing her hips into you. Hands on the back of your thighs to keep them against your chest as she enters you, bottoming out in one smooth stroke.
She wastes not a single second more, giving you barely any time to adjust to something being inside you, she pulled back out and snapped back in. Your cunt screams at the mix of pain and pleasure, coating her strap in slick effortlessly.
“Look at how fucking wet you are and I’m just getting started. Someone is eager to be my whore, isn’t that right?”
Unable to focus on anything else other than the desire for her to keep going, you nod your head between gasps, moving your hands to the back of your thighs where hers were so she could use hers how she wanted.
Sharon slows down her pace until halting her motion, watching and waiting for you to answer.
“Say it.” spite-fueled harsh whispers emulating the tone of her seriousness.
“Yes, yes, please…fucking please!” the longing for her was too much, you fear for what you’d become if it wasn’t satiated.
Sharon maniacal laughs turn into grunts when she begins to slam her hips into you again. All you care about is her touch, mesmerized by every single moment of contact and the glare she gives you.
Sharon moaned at the sensation of her clit rubbing on the leather of the harness and the rocking of the silicone inside her.
The coil in your stomach tightens with each sound you both make, threatening to break as she kept jackhammering into you, tip kissing your cervix with each groan had between the two of you.
“M-more…fu-uh-uh-uh-ck, please” slurring your words as you tried to wrap your legs around her to push her deeper into you.
Lowly growling at you and prying your legs from her hips, she pushed them down to your chest again. Fighting the urge to drain you for defiance.
You were her toy and she was going to do this her way.
The pace quickened as she plowed into you. Blurred vision, stars in your eyes, coming close to your high when she let out a snarl and pulled out. Using her strength she flipped you over, pushing your face into the sheets.
“Arch your fucking back” Sharon placed a cold hand on your spine pushing down while lifting your ass in the air.
A finger found its way to your folds. Teasing you and watching the slick drip out of you.
Removing her finger, she bent down and started sucking on your clit. Gasping and writhing as she rhythmically licked your sensitive bud, building up brick by brick the sensations she wanted you to feel.
Dragging her nails up and down your thighs and her tongue continued to dance on your folds, being sure to taste every drop of you.
Two fingers suddenly plunged in and curled towards your G-spot. Pressing down repeatedly causing you to lose touch with any left over moments of reality you still had.
“I’m gonna cum” you scream into the sheets as you start to contract around her fingers.
Essence belonging to you drips down her hand. She’s continuing to pump into you and bring you to your moment of ecstasy. Blissfully being devoured by a demon who looked like an angel.
A devious smirk wipes across her face as she continues to let you ride out the orgasm she gifted you.
You’re completely in shambles, unable to speak full sentences, legs shaking and not willing to hold the weight of your body anymore.
Frozen hands wrap around your waist, you can feel your body being held up.
“Don’t think I’m finished with you yet!” a smack to your pussy startles you.
Feeling her slide the strap back in with ease, both moaning as she pulls out to the tip and continues the deadly pace she had before.
Screaming underneath her with no sense of control, you were overstimulated in the best way, the sensitivity of having just cum was a mere thought when the need for her took over again.
Sharon continued to fuck you senseless, snarling behind you as she pumped, craving her own climax. You felt her hips stutter and falter as she growled, trying to keep her pace.
“Use me, Make me yours -fuck fuck fuck-, Sh-Sharon” you whined, knowing it would push her right over the edge and into the raptured to heaven moment you just had yourself.
She snarled and sank her teeth into your shoulder, moans muffled by your flesh and the tension of her jaw while her hips haphazardly jerk, not letting you out of her venomous bite.
The sound of her cumming, the feeling of her digging her teeth into you, and the movements of her strap set off into another pulsating moment of pure unadulterated bliss, cumming around her, gripping her and making it difficult for her to keep her already unsteady rhythm as she tried to ride out her own orgasm.
She slowly came to a stop and gently draped her body on your back, softly wrapping her arms around you while she caught her breath, licking up the blood gushing from her deep bite.
Her warm torso resting against you was heaven, in and of itself.
You both laid there, chests heaving when she pulled out of you. The sudden emptiness and the stroke of it makes you gasp and whimper again. She undid the device from around her hips, putting it on the night stand to be cleaned tomorrow.
She looked over at you, making eye contact. You notice that her eyes are brown like before, you blink a few times at her. She puts her hands up in defense, eyes widened at how quickly you realized she was back to Mina.
“I can explain!”
The Right Partner
A/n: Thank you to @cry4mina and @whatachillkillyeri for finding and helping me choose the moon picture above
Happy birthday, Dancing Queen (has flashback to 'Money In My Pocket') or King
Synopsis: How long would you wait for the right one?
Momo entered the ballroom, but thanks to the masks, she was able to keep a low profile.
It was the main reason she agreed to go tonight. Who could resist a masquerade party?
She had danced with a few men but it was far from pleasant. Minor incidents of toe stepping, paired with the passion in their eyes, only being fuelled by barely concealed lust.
Her current dance partner had more skill than the others so far, but there was no real chemistry.
As the song ended, Momo felt a tap on her shoulder and was met with a woman this time.
She held out her hand and smiled.
"Sorry to interrupt, but may I steal you away for a dance?"
There was no hesitation as Momo took the stranger's hand, allowing herself to be pulled back onto the dance floor.
They moved with such grace, putting the other couples around them to shame. The both of you focused on each other, not paying any notice to the crowd that gazed upon them.
Your eyes were lighter than those she had danced with earlier, and Momo found herself getting lost within them.
Your hand was soft but strong, she thought, and she didn't want to let go, even as the music had reached its conclusion.
Apparently, you didn't want to part ways either.
"Would you like to go outside?"
~◇~
With arms linked, the pair of you strolled through the gardens, enjoying the solitude away from prying eyes.
The music could still be heard, prompting Momo to ask for another dance. But she wanted to know:
"Why me?"
"What?"
"Of all the people you could've chosen in there, you chose me. Why?"
Instead of answering immediately, you surprised her with a dip, drawing her even closer when you brought her upright.
"I noticed as soon as you walked into the room. I saw how you were displeased with those boys. I just wanted to be the right partner."
You stopped swaying, and Momo rested her head on your shoulder.
"You are."
She pulled away after a while to hold your hand, fiddling with your ring. She watched as you took it off, placing it on her palm.
"Since you like it so much, you can hang on to it for now."
Momo was about to object when her phone rang. Of course, it was the company, asking her to ditch a party she was finally enjoying.
"I need to go."
She tried to return the item, but you refused. Instead, you slid it onto her index finger.
"Keep it for now. Return it when we see each other again."
It gave her hope that this wouldn't be your first and last meeting.
"Thanks for the dance, and spending time with me; it was the best part of the evening."
Mustering up her courage, she quickly kissed your cheek before turning away and hastily exiting. Momo didn't dare look back.
If she had, she would've seen you touch where her lips pressed against your skin and the look of surprise morphing into a smile.
~◇~
That was two years ago, and Momo wore the ring every day. She felt stupid for never asking for your name.
"How was the party last night?" Mina asked.
"Uneventful." The group would've believed her if she didn't bite her lip to suppress a smile.
"Liar!" They all teased.
"That's the face you make when you're lying. Don't deny it, we were roommates, I can read you like a book."
Momo couldn't hide much from Jeongyeon.
"Okay, fine. I did meet someone."
The squeals could be heard through the walls.
"Don't be shy, tell us what happened." Jihyo encouraged.
Her smile only grew as she recounted the evening.
"She sounds like a charmer. What's her name?"
"She is, her name is..."
The words fell flat, and all of a sudden, it felt like someone poured a bucket of ice cold water over her.
"Momo?"
"I never asked for her name."
The proceeding laughter only worsened her mood.
"Pabo! I can't believe you didn't ask."
"Nayeon unnie."
"It's fine, Mina. Silly me, right? I'm gonna get some air." Momo left before anyone could convince her to stay.
They apologised as soon as she returned and offered to help her find you, even if it was pointless.
Is it possible to fall in love with a stranger who remains stuck in my memories? Momo asked herself from time to time.
Her only option was to reminisce the night you spent together.
~◇~
TWICE were waiting for the new choreographer, who would be working with them for their latest comeback.
When you finally made it, you introduced yourself as y/n, and Momo felt at ease. You provided familiarity, and it didn't take long for her to get into routine.
However, she would get distracted by your eyes. Almost as if she had seen them before.
Throughout practice, she would absentmindedly fiddle with the ring whilst thinking of you.
However, what she failed to notice was the way you froze when you saw it.
~◇~
"It's you, isn't it?"
Jihyo hung back to speak with you.
"Huh?"
"I noticed how you reacted when you saw the ring she was wearing. You're the woman from the party that Momo has been looking for."
"You know about that?"
"Honey. You're all she's talked about ever since she came home that night: lamenting how she'd never find you again.
Knowing that the feeling was mutual, a wave of relief washed over you.
"I was unable to access the guest list, not that it would've mattered anyway. It was a high-profile event, meaning a lot of celebrities were present, so narrowing it down was impossible. Regardless, not a day has gone by where I don't think about her."
"Well, go get her then. You two have been waiting for so long."
"I have an idea, but I'll need your help, unnie."
~◇~
A knock on the door caught Momo's attention, as she shouted, "Come in!"
The other eight members were giddy, as Jihyo handed her a piece of paper.
Meet me on the rooftop at 7:30 tonight.
It took some convincing that this, in fact, was not a prank.
"I promise, this isn't a joke. Someone special is waiting for you up there."
Which is how she found herself at the roof entrance. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door.
Momo almost burst into tears.
There you stood, dressed in your navy suit, exactly like that night.
Right down to the mask.
You faced her and smiled.
"Hello, Momo." You stepped towards her, and she met you halfway.
"Hi." She grasped your shoulders, afraid that you'll disappear again.
"You're really here."
"I am, and I can't believe you kept my ring."
"Y/n?"
"Why don't you find out?"
You didn't have to tell her twice. Momo reached behind to untie the string, letting the mask fall away.
The smile she gave you was so radiant. It made your heart skip a beat, especially when she embraced you tightly.
"I've missed you y/n." Having her near made you shiver.
"Me too." You pressed your lips against her temple, making Momo close her eyes in bliss. "All this time, I was afraid I would never find you again. But I sure as hell would have spent the rest of my life looking."
"And I, you. It's not every day you find the right partner."
You stepped back and extended your hand out to her.
"Then, may I steal you away a while longer for a dance?"
She took your hand, and it felt like you were meeting for the first time.
"You may."
~◇~
The sun had set long ago by the time the pair of you went back inside. Time slipped away as you caught up on what you both did in the two years that passed.
Momo had your jacket draped over her to escape the chill of the night.
"I never told you back then, but you look attractive with the mask on."
"Really?" Looking at it, there wasn't anything eye-catching.
"I wouldn’t have agreed to a dance if I hadn't thought so."
"I see. Does that mean I have to wear it to ask you to dinner tomorrow night?"
"I wouldn't complain, but I have to check our schedule."
"We're only busy in the morning!" A chorus of voices declared from behind the closed door.
Momo thumped said door with her fist, smiling to herself when the eavesdroppers exclaimed in shock.
"Pick me up at six?"
"Sure, goodnight."
You waved at the others, who had come to say goodbye too.
They watched as you walked away, but something wasn't right.
You were halfway down the hall when Momo grabbed your hand.
"Momo? Is everything okay?"
"You...forgot your jacket." But she already gave it back.
"The one I'm wearing?"
"Forget it. I just wanted a reason to do this."
Before you could ask what, she grabbed your collar and kissed you. It only took a second for you to melt into it while the members looked with slacked jaws.
"I should've done that two years ago."
You only nodded, rendered speechless.
"You're more than welcome to do that again."
"Noted, cutie." She stole another kiss before heading back.
"See you tomorrow, y/n."
"Bye."
With both your heads still in the clouds after your long-awaited reunion, neither of you realised that Momo never returned your ring.
w/c: 5558
a/n: I've been working on this for a while now, I'm planning on making this a mini-series? I'm really excited to finally put this out and for you guys to read it! Again, I really appreciate criticism so that I can do better next time, so if you have any, please let me know :) Also big thanks to @cry4mina for their amazing brain that helped me figure out what to do with this story :)
Pt1- Pt2 - Pt3
Mina had always loved the art of performing. She found the idea of immersing herself so much in a character that she could be able to portray characters and tell their stories just by using her body language and facial expressions in a certain way fascinating.
She loved the way she could tell stories of people for thousands of people to see, it was something she was very proud of. However, the fame that came with it was something that she wished was not part of this ordeal. Fame was something that many always wanted to achieve, the idea of being adored by many and of being an idol to others was for some their life dreams. However, Mina never wanted a loud and busy life, she had always preferred the quiet aspect of it.
After finally finishing filming an adaptation of “All the Lovers in the Night”, which she considered to have been one of her most challenging works, she was on her very much-deserved holiday, which she planned to spend with her parents, who had recently moved to a quiet little town just an hour or so away from the city.
“...turn left in 300 meters”
Finally, Mina thought to herself, after hearing the GPS’s directions, showing how close she was to arriving at her parents.
Suddenly, she hears a clicking sound before the car starts jolting.
What the hell?
Suddenly, the car comes to a halt, letting out a whooshing sound as a small cloud of smoke come out from its hood.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she mutters as she gets out of the car after trying to park it as much to the right as possible. After a minute of silence, she tries to restart the car, in hopes it wakes up.
A glimmer of hope forms inside her as she hears the car slowly start before the familiar clicking starts again, making her turn it off, knowing she wouldn't go anywhere with that car soon.
Fuck
After the failed attempt at restarting the car, she decided to get out and see if she could call for car support so that she could get over this as quickly as possible. As soon as she’s out of the car, she's trying to call for support but soon notices that her battery is running out, making her dial the number as quickly as possible.
“No no no no no” she mumbles as she watches her phone die. “You have got to be kidding me” she almost screams in exasperation.
I cannot believe this is happening right when I decide to go on holiday, she thinks to herself sighing.
After a while of sitting on the hood of her car, taking breaks from trying to restart her car long enough to connect her phone so that it could charge a little bit more to call for assistance, she sees a ball of white fur bark and run towards her.
“Hi buddy!” she exclaims when the dog adorably walks up to her, pushing his head closer to her tight as if to ask for pets, making her laugh and crouch down giving him her full attention, slightly compensating for all that had happened until that moment.
“Otis!” Mina hears from the direction the dog had come, assuming the voice as being the owner’s. “You can’t just run off like that.” says the voice, slightly off-breath as it approaches them.
“It’s fine really!” Mina says, trying to sound reassuring, “He seems like a good boy…” she trails off as she looks up, meeting your gaze. As she looks at you, she feels her shoulders instantly drop, as if every ounce of stress accumulating in her throughout the day had vanished.
“I’m sorry, he really just ran off as soon as he saw the car here.Is that your car?” you ask her as you leave Otis in her grasp to check it out.
“Uh yeah, I guess it had some engine problems? It never had any problems before, I was not expecting it at all” she answers, still upset at her car breaking down so near her parent's place.
“If I could, I would totally help you out, but I’m not that good with my hands when it comes to cars,” You tell her sheepishly, “I do have the contact of a mechanic in town who could probably figure this out with no trouble” you add for Mina’s great relief.
“Really? And do you think they could come today?” she asks with a hopeful tone.
“Hold on, I’ll give them a call,” You tell her as you take out your phone to quickly call the mechanic. After the short call, you walk back to deliver the news. “It shouldn’t be long before they get here, they said they would come in maybe 20 minutes since it’s not that far.” You explain, making Mina feel like a big weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
“I don’t even know how to thank you…” Mina says, smiling softly at you, making you laugh.
“It’s fine, Your car will be in good hands too, don’t worry,” You say, shrugging. “You know…I really wouldn’t feel good with myself leaving you here alone though… would you like to come to the farm while we wait? It’s totally fine if you don’t want to!” you say, quickly adding the last bit, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable.
“I’d really appreciate it.” Mina says, smiling at you relieved, knowing that she’s going home soon.
As you both walk to your house, you attempt to make small talk to avoid the awkward tension, learning that Mina is going to be spending her holiday time with her parents, in search of peace and quiet.
After arriving at your place, Mina notices that you live on something alike to a farm, but a little smaller. As you wait by the porch, playing with your dog, Mina has the opportunity to check your little farm out, taking notice of the various fruit trees you had.
She learns that you had once been a Hockey player in the city but due to a knee injury, you had retired and decided to come back to your hometown to help your parents with their business, eventually leaving it to you.
After a while, the mechanic finally shows up at your house, with the car already towed, honking to call for your attention, making you smile instantly.
“Hey pretty!” You say, getting up quickly to greet the person driving the car. Said person getting out quickly as well in time to greet you properly with a hug. “Mina, this is my friend Jeongyeon, she will be taking your car to the shop and give you a ride to your parents since it’s probably on the way.” You explain, detaching yourself from your friend, who gives Mina a small wave to greet her.
“Well, I hope you have a good rest.” You say, guiding her to the car with Otis on your tail trying to get more pets from his new friend.
“I’m sure I will.” She says, leaning down to pet Otis for the last time before she leaves.“Thank you for letting me stay here while I waited for the tow.”
“Of course, it was really nice having you here.” You say, smiling shyly at Mina.
Honk
“Hey, love birds! It’s getting dark, we should really get going, so I can drop Mina off and close the shop in time!” Jeongyeon calls from the truck, making you both blush at her nickname.
As she gets in the truck, she sees you waving goodbye and then remembers she had forgotten to ask you for your number. Before she can get out to ask, the truck is already getting out of your house.
After a short-ish and quiet drive, she’s finally home. When she opens the door, her parents come rushing to hug her, worried because of the calls that went unanswered by her. After letting them know what had happened, she just went straight to bed, too tired to keep them company for much longer.
As days go by, Mina has finally begun to feel more and more at ease, more in contact with herself. One day, as she’s preparing lunch, she hears someone knock at the door.
“Mina, please get the door!” she hears her mom call from outside.
When she opens the door, she sees a surprising face on the other side. There you stand, carrying a crate with a mix of fruits and vegetables, wearing your hat backward, sporting a small smile on your face.
“Hi”
“Hi”
“Please come in” Mina hurriedly says, not wanting you to carry such a heavy-looking crate for too long.
“I didn’t know you were the Myoui’s daughter.” you say as you enter the house and put the crate by the table.
“Yeah…” she answers, still a bit surprised to see you there
“I come here once a week to deliver fruit to them since the crate is usually a bit too heavy for your mom to carry” you explain, not wanting to seem like you just like to pop up to people's houses.
“Thank you for that,” she says, touched by your consideration. “She told me that this week we’d be getting the fruit delivered, but I guess I forgot what day it was coming.”
After an awkward silence from both parts, you finally ask her how her time there has been, if she had her car fixed. “Oh yeah, thank you! They already have the car ready to get picked up. I’m going this afternoon.” she answers, grateful for the break from the awkwardness.
You only nod at that and give her a small smile, and you two get awkward again and stay silent for a bit, not knowing what to say.
“Yn honey hi! Thank you so much for bringing the produce!” The older woman says, going to hug you.
“Of course, I’m always happy to help!” You tell her with one of the brightest smiles Mina had ever seen, making her instinctively smile as well.
After exchanging pleasantries, you decide to go back to work. As you’re almost out the door, Mina follows you, not wanting to let you go without asking you for your number.
“Yn! Wait up!” Mina says, following as you’re almost inside your truck.
“Yeah?” You say, peaking your head out of the car, almost hitting it as you rushed to see what it was that Mina wanted.
“I uh, I wanted to know if I could get your number?” Mina asks, suddenly shy.
“Yes! I mean, yeah, sure, of course.” You say, trying to act nonchalant as you quickly hand her your phone.
“Let’s keep in touch, yeah?” Mina says as she hands you the phone, giving you a big gummy smile, making your insides melt. You’re only able to give her a nod, unable to answer her verbally.
❂
“Did you just giggle?” JIhyo says, barking out a laugh as she sees you staring at your phone after receiving a message from Mina.
“What are you talking about?” you ask, rolling your eyes. “Did a puck hit you too hard on the head?” you joke, trying to avoid talking about your shameful giggle at a text from a girl you had just met.
“Hardy har har” she says, rounding the corner and following you as you move through the furniture looking for the renovated table Jihyo had ordered. “You can’t just lie to me, I know you like the palm of my hand! Jeongyeon back me up??” Jihyo says, turning to her friend for support.
“Hm? Sorry, I was not paying attention at all. Can we speed this along, though? I have a job.” The older one says, putting her phone away as she moves to meet the other girls in the middle of the furniture maze.
“Who were you texting though” Jihyo insists as she picks up the end of the table to carry it out.
“Oooh was it the girl I picked up from your place?” Jeongyeon joins in, teasingly wiggling her eyebrows at you.
“A girl?” JIhyo says, almost dropping the table. “Why am I the last one to know about this?”
“There is nothing to know about.” You tell them as you slowly put the table down, ready to put it on Jihyo’s car, ready for her to stop pestering you. “She had trouble with her car a while ago, so she stayed at my place while she waited for Jeongie to pick her up to take the car to the shop. Since she’s staying here for a while, we decided to keep in touch-” you try saying, but are cut off by teasing “ooohs” and whistles from both girls. “Just as friends!” you quickly add, rolling your eyes.
“You know it would do you some good to get out of the house,” Jeongyeon says, bringing you closer when she sees you trying to get away from their teasing by going back to the shop.
“I do get out.” You say almost indignantly, making both of them snicker.
“You getting out of the house to go to work or to go to the farmers market does not count. You don’t even visit some of us in the city as frequently.” Jihyo says, already getting inside the car. “You don’t giggle at texts, you’re a loser, but I’ve never seen you like this. If this girl does that to you, you should give it a try, even if you’ve only known her for a short while. Get to know her.”
You only mumble in agreement, not wanting to commit to something yet. After Jihyo leaves, you try sneaking off into the store, knowing Jeongyeon will still try to talk about what had just happened.
“Nope, come here.” She says when she sees you slowly backing away, pulling you by the hand to sit on the bench outside your store. “I know this is scary, you don’t like getting close to new people-”
“I do like it-” you start
“Let me finish,” she says, cutting you off. “It’s good for you. We get together often, but since you came back you’ve been pulling out of social interactions. Mina seems like a sweet girl.” She continues, holding your hand gently. “I’m not saying you have to make a move, you’ve only known the girl for what? Two weeks?” she asks, getting an inconclusive hum from you. “Just get to know her, she told me she’s staying here for vacation when I drove her to her parents. You can make a new friend.” she says, ending her little encouragement speech.
“You sound like my mom.” You grumble.
“I’ll take that as a compliment, I love your mom.” She says, patting your head as she gets up. “I'll call you later, ok?” She says, already walking away.
It’s not that you didn’t want to get to know Mina better, you’d like nothing more. Even after days of texting back and forth, sharing jokes and facts about you, you were still hesitant about letting someone else in.
You sighed and looked at your phone, still open on the messages app with Mina’s text waiting for your response.
Do you want to meet tomorrow? I can’t wait to see you again :)
You smile down at it before finally answering.
I’d love to. I can’t wait to see you too :)
❂
“This one almost fell off!” Mina says excitedly as she puts the peach inside her basket.
“Yeah, they’re good to go right now, I’ll probably take them to the market this weekend.” You say, chuckling at her enthusiasm. “You should be careful though, if you pick them out with too much force, some parts that will get spoiled more easily.”
After your friend's visit, you decided to invite Mina to your house to create a more intimate environment so that you could get to know her better without any stress from people being around.
"Oh, look at this one! It’s you!" she says laughing, holding one out for you to see.
You move closer to her, trying to see what she means as she points at the fruit.
"You know, cuz you're a peach." she says, maybe in an unusual attempt at flirting. After a moment of silence, she turns away from you and goes to another tree to get away from what had just happened. You only stare at her with a dumb smile on your face, completely infatuated by her.
“Are you flirting with me?” You ask, moving closer with a cheeky smile on your face.
“Me flirt- flirting? Why would I- No of course not” Mina says, stumbling over her words as she moves further away.
“Why did you call me a peach, then?” You ask chuckling, finally able to be close to her again.
“Well because you look like one.” She says shrugging, looking away, not wanting to make eye contact.
“Yeah, cuz we share oh so many similarities.” You say, tilting your head, trying to look at her.
“Yeah, both round and red.” she says, shrugging, making you bark out a laugh.
“You’re saying I’m round and red?”
“You’re insufferable” she huffs and turning away again, only making you laugh more.
“You can’t say I’m insufferable, we’ve only known each other for two weeks or so” You exclaim, still laughing.
“Would it be bad if I was?” Mina finally stops, turning to you, and looking into your eyes. As you look at her, you find yourself unable to form any words, this seeming to be becoming a recurring occurrence now.
You only shake your head no and move closer to her. You see her tense up as if she had stopped breathing, and unconsciously do the same. As you get closer to her, you’re now able to check ever single detail on her face, every single line, every single mole.
“It would not be bad at all” You say, almost whispering with your voice shaking, as you adjust the straw hat on her head as it was slowly falling forward.
“Yn!” you two suddenly hear, making you both hastily make some distance between each other.
“Mom?” You call out, having recognized the voice, moving towards the sound, taking Mina’s hand in yours to follow you not noticing her almost freezing up at the contact.
“Hi baby” she enthusiastically says, with open arms ready to engulf you in her arms. She, however, stops mid-way when she sees you holding hands with an unknown girl. “Who is this?” she asks, with a mischievous smile forming on her face.
As soon as you realize what she’s talking about, you feel your face heat up, realizing that you were holding hands with Mina. Quickly, you let go of her hand, not wanting to make her feel comfortable, too embarrassed to notice the slight look of disappointment that had crossed her face as you did so. “This is Mina, she’s the Myoui’s daughter.” You explain, weekly gesturing to the girl beside you.
“Well, it’s really nice to meet you!” your mom says, going to hug Mina, surprising her.
“She’s always like this” you mouth to her when she looks at you for help.
“Don’t run from me!” You hear as you see Otis speed away from your father, who’s chasing him.
“Dad, stop pestering Otis.” You say, sighing, going in the direction your dog had run.
“It’s not pestering, he loves it!” The older man says, before spotting Mina. “And who is this?” he says with a curious gaze and a little smile playing on his lips.
“This is the Myoui’s kid.” Your mom says, introducing her, and instead of a warm hug, he instead offers a warm smile, one too similar to yours. After a bit of short talk, and your parents wanting to start sharing stories about how you were as a child, you volunteered to walk Mina home.
“They seem fun” Mina says as she walks by your side.
“They’re pests.” You say fondly, not being able to contain your smile.
“I’m glad we could do this today…” Mina says, sneaking glances at you, catching you doing the same from time to time.
“It was really fun, yeah.” You say with a smile. Out of nowhere, a gust of wind hits you both and sends Mina’s hat into the field. “I’ll pick it up don’t worry.” You assure her, trying to chase it.
“You don’t have to!” She calls after you, going after you.
“I want to, stay there, I’ll be back in a minute.”
After no longer than 5 minutes, she hears a thud and a groan, making her look your way, only to see you holding her hat looking quite disheveled, with furrowed eyebrows grumbling.
“What happened?” she asks worried, seeing small tears on your pants.
“I didn’t see the roots” You mumble, dusting yourself off with your free hand, before offering her a beaming smile. “I got your hat though! Here, let me put it on,” you say, dusting it off of any dust it might have before adjusting it on Mina’s hair again. “There.” You say, smiling, finding yourself in the same position you both had been in before your parents had come home.
“Thanks” Mina mumbles, looking away, not attempting to make eye contact.
As you both continued your walk, you could feel your fingers brush hers, making your face erupt in flames. You decided to look at her, sneakily and found yourself breath taken. It wasn’t just her shy smile that had your knees trembling, but also the light coming between the trees and how they hit her skin, how her eyes gained a new shine as she watched the birds chirping above you. You would never admit this out loud, at least not to her, but even though you had only known her for such a short period of time, you were absolutely smitten.
“We should do this again,” Mina says as she steps on her parent’s porch. “I had fun.”
“Yeah.” You manage to get out, fiddling your fingers. “I’ll text you?” you ask, receiving a nod. “Yeah, I’d like that.” she says, getting closer to you. Before you can process it, Mina kissed your cheek and was already inside the house.
❂
“We've actually been hanging out a lot, even if she's working too. Last Tuesday she took me to the lake, we spent the whole day there. But now she won't even answer my texts” Mina sighs, not knowing what to do.
“Well you've already tried talking to her, I'm honestly not sure what else you can do.” Sana, her friend, says through the phone.
“Well, yes, but I actually thought things were going well.” The girl continues, pacing around.
She knew that she couldn’t expect anything romantic out of this relationship, at least not at that moment, but she did think that your relationship was progressing in that direction, and she was happy about it, there didn’t seem to be any problems until you suddenly stopped answering her texts and only came by her parents place when she wasn’t there.
“I’m not sure what to tell you, honey, I wish I could offer you more words of comfort, but it seems like this all came out of the blue so…” The older girl says.
After a long talk, Mina decides to come down, only to see a very familiar crate full of veggies and fruit sitting at the table. She realizes then that Yn had come over to deliver the produce as usual, managing to avoid her again.
“Mina hi! What can I do for you?” Jeongyeon says as she gets out from under the car she had been fixing, oil stains all over her. “Is your car giving you trouble?”
“Not the car, no.” Mina answers with a dry chuckle, looking around.
“What happened?” Jeongyeon asks, cleaning her hands, and guiding Mina to her office so that they could talk more freely.
“I just…” she started, frustration settling in. “Is Yn alright? Has anything happened? Was it something I did?” Mina ends up asking, rapidly.
“Hey no what?” Jeongyeon says, holding her arms, trying to calm her down. “It’s not you, ok? You did nothing wrong.” She says, trying to reassure her. “Yn has a complicated relationship with people. Has she told you about her retirement?” She asks getting up, getting a cup of water, and giving it to Mina, but only getting a negative nod as a response to her question.
“I’m not sure whether it’s my place to tell you about all the details, that’s something Yn should tell you if she thinks she wants to. She had it pretty rough with her team after her injury, it hit her pretty hard.” Jeongyeon says, sighing after remembering how everything had impacted her friend. “After her injury, some people on the team started blaming her, people that were supposed to have her back, people that Yn trusted a lot. After that, she got too much in her head and started self-isolating. Those people leaving her, blaming her, made her start to think that others would do that too.” She ends, frustration lacing itself into her tone.
“I didn’t know…” Mina says, almost in a whisper. “That must have been tough.”
“It was, she has been trying to get out more and get better, but you know how these things are…” Jeongyeon says, searching for understanding in Mina’s eyes. “I know it doesn’t excuse her keeping you in the dark, but I hope it at least explains it.”
“It does, but I still want to try and talk to her.” Mina says, getting up, ready to see if you were at your shop.
“Yeah, but if you want to try today, you won’t have any luck. She went to the city, she’s hanging out with a friend.” Jeongyeon says, guiding Mina out, almost apologetic.
“I’ll see if I can catch her at the market then.” Mina decides, gaining a nod from Yn’s friend.
As Mina walks home with this new information she starts to understand why you had done what you did, however, she can’t help that she felt hurt by those actions. She decided that she had to confront you, to ease her mind and also in turn ease yours.
A couple of days later, her mom had decided to go to the market so Mina took that opportunity to go see you. When they arrive, they see you at your stand with your dad and waste no time to go over there.
“...yes, Yn only started producing this type of tomato this year, but I really like them, especially in salads, they really bring out the taste…” says your father, engrossed in his tomato talk with a possible customer. “Mina! Hi!” He suddenly exclaims as he notices her presence. “I haven’t seen you in a while, have you been enjoying your time off?” He asks, after making sure the other customer did leave with the tomatoes he was so enthusiastic about.
“It’s been great yeah!” Mina answers him with a tight smile, more focused on Yn and how she’s suddenly checking every single peach on the stand for defects.
“she’s really been able to relax more, she works too hard”
“Do you come here often?” comes out of Mina’s mouth before she can stop herself, feeling silly since she is literally at her stand. There is a small victory since a small smile shapes itself on your lips unintentionally.
“Yeah…” you say, not wanting to prolong this conversation, too scared of where this might go.
“How have you been?” Mina tries again, not feeling deterred.
“Eh I’ve been alright.” You say, offering her a small smile, but looking away almost instantly.
“Are you not going to ask how I’ve been?” Mina says, trying to meet your eyes, finding them guilt-ridden. “Well, I haven’t been that great. My friend, or at least someone I thought was my friend, stopped talking to me and has been avoiding me. I’m not sure if she’s doing it because of anything I did, but she won’t even answer my texts so I can’t really know.” Mina finally lets out, unthinkingly letting out her frustrations on the situation as well.
“No! No. I- It was not you, it was all me. I get too inside my head and end up pushing people away. This is no excuse, especially since I’m not even explaining it well, but I am still sorry Mina.” You quickly say as you fiddle with your fingers.
“You know, I wouldn’t have left.” She says, after a silent moment. “I texted a lot, I would think that that was an indicator right?” she says chuckling trying to lighten the mood, making you smile slightly relieved. “You do have to make it up to me…”
“I’ll do my very best,” you tell her, now smiling more openly.
❂
As time progresses, you two end up making up, and you start visiting the city more because of Mina since she had returned to work.
Knock Knock Knock
“Coming!” Mina yells from the kitchen, hurriedly going to the door, not knowing who could be at such a late hour. Once she opens the door, she is pleasantly surprised to see you there holding a bag of takeout with one of your big smiles on your face.
“Hi” you say, already going inside, not wanting to stay out in the cold. “I brought take out from that place down the road.” You explain, already going to the kitchen with a familiarity Mina hadn’t noticed until now, but still a welcome one. As you both ate, Mina started realizing that the silly infatuation she had felt over the summer had evolved into a full-grown crush, and suddenly she didn’t know how to act.
“Do you want to watch a movie after?” You ask her with a mouthful, which was honestly disgusting, but for Mina, who found herself realizing that she was unbelievably down bad for you, it was somewhat endearing.
“You’re so gross.” She says, with no sentiment behind it, a love-sick grin starting to spread on her face. “You choose, I’m cleaning up the dishes.” She says, getting up quickly not wanting you to see her smile like that.
Once she returns to the living room, she finds you already sprawled comfortably on the couch with Spider-Man on the screen waiting for her to press play. Once you were both comfortably watching the movie play, you decided to explain to her little details that could help her better understand the plot and the reasons behind some behaviours of certain characters, and even though she had tried so hard to pay attention to those details, the only things she could focus on were how your eyes lit up, how you knew all about this fictional universe and how invested you were in it.
“...and that’s why-What?” You ask, finally noticing her unnerving stare.
“You’re such a nerd,” she says softly, her voice filled with adoration, making you flush under her gaze. “Tell me more about it.”
“Do you actually want to know?” You ask her, laughing, knowing she was probably not paying any attention to your side information.
“I like listening to you talk.” She shrugs. “It’s cute. I might have to try and get a Marvel contract, maybe then you’ll talk about as me as passionately as you talk about Peter Parker.” She says, inching closer to you, with a teasing smile, and at that moment you thank everything divine for not being too close to her, or else she would’ve felt the heat emanating from you, from how flushed you were starting to get because of this banter of hers.
“Do you think I’d make a good spider woman? Hm?” Mina says, feeling more confident after looking at your state, already so close, she could see your chest rising rapidly. “I’d let you try out the iconic upside-down kiss…” she finalizes, feeling a surge of confidence she normally didn’t feel, as she gently turned your face towards hers, getting closer and closer, already being able to feel your ragged breath mixing with hers.
“Mina…” You breathlessly whisper, following her lead, your mouth opening slightly, not being able to stop your eyes from following her every move.
She only hums in response, tilting her head slightly to kiss you gently on the cheek, lips so soft you could’ve missed them. Instead of stopping there, she starts to slowly trail little kisses in your mouth’s direction. As she’s almost there, her eyes find yours as if asking for permission. You don’t even try and answer verbally, knowing full well you would not be able to do so, instead, you just let your hand go to her nape and gently bring her closer to you, letting your lips finally meet in a soft kiss. As you try to deepen the kiss, you feel her smile against your lips, making it impossible to do so.
“What are you smiling about?” You ask, still impossibly closer, lips almost touching, not even wanting to think about putting some distance in between both of you.
“Nothing” she simply says, pulling you in for another kiss, sharing the same thought of not wanting to be apart from you a minute longer.
The last of the dinner shift guests left the building, unknowingly crossing the path with the owner.
Momo sent them a polite nod, her eyes shifting to their linked arms and entwined hands. Two months ago, she would have rolled them at the sight. Love on display, even late at night when only the moon could complain, she used to despise it.
Or so she thought. Turned out she was only single
That night her eyes narrowed with a soft smile. The couple barely paid her any mind, lost in their love, but she couldn’t care less.
She was on her way to meet her own.
Sure, she had to sneak around the back and hid it from most people, but it was there. Waiting for her, in that dim lit hallway near the walk-in freezer.
That location wasn’t exactly sexy, but romance wasn’t dead. As long as you were there, she’d meet you anywhere.
Holding her excuse against her chest—a stack of meaningless papers—she slipped into the restaurant, her presence a well-practiced secret.
A small smile played on your lips as she approached. It was an oddly intimate invite, the lighting casting soft shadows that seemed to close you off from the rest of the world.
"Hey," she greeted softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Hey," you replied, stepping closer. "Everything alright?"
She nodded, handing you the stack of papers. "Just wanted to go over these changes with you before tomorrow."
A soft chuckle escaped your lips as you looked down at the printed ink. “‘March ‘22 Menu Items’? Seriously?” You looked up to find her eyes, meeting the faint blush on her cheeks.
“It was all I had around...” She said, allowing herself to pout a little at your amusement.
“I guess it’ll do,” you shrugged off, deciding to let her off the hook this time. “To what do I owe this honor then if not for actual work?”
Momo grinned. Real talk, finally. “There’s this place a few blocks away I wanted to check out.” Her hands wiped the jet black uniform on your shoulders, adjusting the wrinkles from the day. “Benchmarking. I could use your help.”
You hummed, “That new Japanese place that opened a couple weeks ago?”
“That one,” she nodded, pursing her lips. It was adorable, the way she tried to keep it professional. She was doing a great job. An adorably great job. “What do you say?”
“I say that’s a great idea. Can’t let an opportunity to get inspired slip my hands, right?”
It took everything in her not to kiss you. That smile of yours, the way you looked at her… This was the only downside of keeping you a secret.
She settled on a smile, and you were more than fine with it. Seeing her struggle not to lean in was enough of a satisfying sight for now.
“I knew I could count on you.”
You stood there, wrapping up the conversation with soft laughter and shared smiles. These were also a rare moment of peace amidst your hectic schedules, and you made sure to savor it.
It wasn’t unusual for you to prolong them, carrying your talks into a much more personal territory. Nothing crazy nor risky, only a couple questions about each other’s day. The information was probably not worth risking getting caught, especially if you could get it in the privacy and comfort of her living room an hour later; but alas.
Falling love is anything but rational.
“How did you like your lunch?” You asked, eager to get her feedback on that new twist you’d added to her favorite.
And as she told you all about her thoughts, Mingyu and Ryujin were making their way through the kitchen, finishing up their tasks for the night.
As they passed the hallway, they heard the soft murmur of voices.
Curiosity piqued, Ryujin nudged Mingyu, and they both peered around the corner, their eyes widening at the sight before them.
You two were standing close. Too close. Heads bowed together, whispering. There was an unmistakable tenderness in the way you looked at each other, something that spoke volumes no matter how hushed your voices were.
"Are they...?" Ryujin trailed off, her voice barely audible.
Mingyu grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Looks like it."
They watched for a moment longer, seeing Momo lightly touch your arm, her fingers lingering just a bit too long for it to be casual. The way you leaned into that touch confirmed it all.
Ryujin pulled back, a grin spreading across her face. "I knew it. I knew there was something going on. Pay up.”
Mingyu chuckled quietly. "Wallet’s in my locker. I’ll give them to you later.”
Ryujin narrowed his eyes on him. “Right. Twenty dollars,” her finger reminded, and he laughed.
“Twenty dollars.” He nodded, glancing back to the hallway. “Guess we should keep this to ourselves, though, huh? Let them have their secret for a bit longer."
Ryujin nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but it’s going to be fun watching them try to hide it."
Their eyes met once more, the same idea popping in both their minds.
“Twenty more on the table, how long do they keep this up for?” Mingyu said, holding out his hand.
Ryujin only looked down at his palm, thinking. “Let’s talk.”
They shared a quiet smirk before quietly retreating, leaving the two of you completely unaware and oblivious that your secret was no longer as well-kept as you thought.
“You parked outside?” You asked, already knowing the answer. She confirmed it with a slight nod. “See you there in thirty?”
She nodded once more and you finally parted ways. Momo headed back to her car to wait for you while you returned to the kitchen. You both carried the warmth of your connection, but unlike her, you had to cool it before joining Ryujin and Mingyu.
The two of them greeted you with innocent smiles. You didn’t like it.
“What?”
“Nothing, chef.” Ryujin’s expression was nonchalant. Stacking plates like you’d asked her to moments ago.
Only odd thing was the twinkle in her eyes when she glanced at Mingyu.
“Just wrapping things up.” Mingyu added, wiping down a counter.
You narrowed your eyes slightly, sensing the unspoken words between them. “Okay… Right, well let’s make sure everything is spotless.”
—
“Are you okay?”
The poor sushi on your plate was grateful for the break. Momo’s voice had halted your train of thoughts, during which you kept pushing your food around.
Glancing up at Momo, you found her eyes already on you, her chopsticks paused mid-air. She tried to ignore it, but the lack of conversation on your end was kind of ruining this date night.
You knew it. You felt it. That’s why you hesitated to tell her about what circled your mind. Your suspicions about Ryujin and Mingyu’s odd behavior lately.
You weren’t blind nor deaf. Neither were you stupid. You could put two and two together, regardless of the result pleasing you or not. They definitely were on to you.
You didn’t want to worry Momo, but you knew keeping it to yourself would only make you nervous. More prone to errors and slip-ups.
So you sighed, “Yeah, I’m fine,” trying to sound casual. “Just… I think Mingyu and Ryujin might have figured us out.”
Momo’s eyes widened slightly, her chopsticks lowering slowly. “What makes you think that?”
“They’re acting a bit… weird lately,” you explained, fiddling with your napkin. “You know how they are—playful and stuff, but… I don’t know, tonight they were just too… odd. And there was this look that they shared too.”
Momo’s brows furrowed. A little too loose of proofs but, she didn’t want to dismiss them just yet. “Do you think they’d tell anyone?”
You thought about it for a bit, but it was useless. The answer was obvious. “No,” you sighed, leaning back against the chair. “I don’t think so. They’re good people, just very nosy. Knowing them, they’ll probably just have their fun watching us.”
Momo smiled, somewhat reassured by your words. She allowed herself to relax, picking up the sushi she’d given up on earlier. “Well, I guess we’ll have to be more careful.”
You chuckled softly, the tension easing away. “Really? I thought you’d stop your little visits.”
Momo giggled, shaking her head no. “Never. I mean, it was annoying at first, but it’s actually kind of exciting. The sneaking around, the secrets…”
Her gaze held a sense of mischief you recognized from your moments behind closed doors. The ones at her place or yours, where you didn’t have to hide from her world. The memories made you smile, along with the sight of them through her eyes.
“I can’t say I’m not enjoying it.” You smiled, grabbing your glass to cheer with her.
She clinked her glass against yours, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “To keeping secrets.”
“And to not getting caught,” you grinned.
—
“Do you think they’ll bet on us?”
You glanced at Momo, and the sight of her in your t-shirt made her question vanish from your mind for a hot second. The way it fell on her shoulders, baggy and reaching slightly too high on her thighs, revealing just enough of the cute shorts underneath to make your heart skip a beat.
The evening was calm, a nice close to the night. You’d walked into Momo’s apartment right as midnight turned to one. The late hour enveloped you in it’s peace and quiet, offering you a moment to cherish.
“Y/n?”
“Hm?”
“If you want to stare at least do it subtly.”
Blood heated up your cheeks in no time, and you focused back on the toothbrush in your hands to hide your embarrassment. “Sorry, you just look… really good.”
She chuckled, shaking her head. “Nice save.”
You watched from the corner of your eye as she raised a foot to the sink she was sitting on top of, hugging her knee to her chest. The movement was casual, yet it highlighted her grace and the intimacy that had grown between you two.
You cleared your throat, trying to steer the conversation back on track. “Anyway, yeah probably. It wouldn’t surprise me.”
“What do you say we give them a run for their money then.”
You raised an eyebrow, the toothpaste foaming at your lips now. “What do you mean?”
Momo grinned, a mischievous spark in her eyes. “Just… subtle things. Little moments that keep them guessing.”
You laughed softly, the idea sounding both thrilling and amusing. “Oh, I didn’t know you were bad like that,” you teased, making her to roll her eyes. “But I’m all for it. Go on, what do you have in mind?”
She tilted her head thoughtfully, her eyes never leaving yours. “Maybe… a secret smile here, a lingering touch there. Just enough to make them question everything.”
She demonstrated by brushing her fingers lightly against your arm, sending a shiver down your spine. Her touch lingered just a moment longer than necessary, her eyes locking with yours.
“Yeah,” you finally answered. Your voice was a little higher than usual, strained, betraying the sudden lack of oxygen from her touch. “It could be fun.”
Momo chuckled, clearly amused and loving to see you lose your composure like that for her. It was familiar, taking her back to when you both spent all your time getting on each other’s nerves in the kitchen. The memory held a weird sense of nostalgia now.
You finished brushing your teeth and rinsed your mouth, still smiling at her earlier proposal. Momo hopped off the sink, her bare feet making a soft thud on the bathroom floor.
Her arms wrapped around you, pulling you closer. “Ready for bed?” she asked, her voice soft, a bit tired.
You nodded and leaned in for a kiss. She hesitated for a moment, making you chase it just to tease you, but ultimately gave in, granting you that small peck you’d grown addicted to as days went by.
Her giggles resonated when your lips trailed to her neck, contrasting with the quiet and shy compliments that followed. “You’re ridiculous,” she murmured, though the word did nothing to tame the affection in her voice.
You loved these moments—seeing Momo so relaxed and happy, away from the pressures of work. If only you could go back in time, tell yourself everything you’d learn to like about her… Just to see your own face. It’d be worth the round-trip.
That smile she gave you, the look back at you as she guided you to her bed, was just one of many.
—
Your steps were light, carrying, hurrying you to meet her as you walked along the glass bay separating her office from the rest of the open space.
The sight of her in there made you smile. She was wearing a black suit, glasses perched on her nose, her name badge hanging around her neck. She looked focused, all serious and professional like she loved to present herself. Funny how that side of her made your heart race for entirely different reasons now.
It was one of those rare afternoons when you had some time to visit her at the headquarters. Usually in between your lunch and dinner shifts. The office was quiet, with only the soft hum of the air conditioning breaking the silence. You didn’t bother to knock, and Momo looked up from her work just as you entered, a warm smile spreading across her face.
"Hey, you," she greeted softly.
"Hey," you replied, closing the door behind you. "Busy day?"
"Always," she sighed, but there was no real complaint in her tone. She loved her work, and it showed.
You walked over to her, unable to resist the urge to touch her. Your fingers brushed against hers as you leaned on her desk, causing a shiver to run down her spine. She looked up at you through her glasses, her eyes sparkling with affection.
Two months, yet you still weren’t getting used to it.
"Got something for you," you grinned, reaching into you bag.
Momo's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"
You pulled out a takeout box that she recognized from the kitchen and opened it, revealing a beautifully crafted marshmallow-based treat. It was a delicate arrangement of marshmallows squares, dipped in chocolate and adorned with tiny edible flowers. "Just a little something sweet to keep you going."
Her face lit up, a small gasp escaping her lips as if you didn’t bring her food multiple times a week. And yes, you also melted at her reaction like you didn’t witness it just as much. "These look amazing! Thank you." She took one and popped it into her mouth, her eyes closing in bliss as she savored the taste. "They're delicious."
You chuckled, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. "I'm glad you like them."
Momo placed the container on her desk, right next to her monitor. "They'll be my little rewards. Thank you.”
You leaned in, giving her a quick kiss on the forehead. "You’re very much welcome."
Just as you were about to pull back, there was a knock on the door. It opened before either of you could say anything, and her assistant stepped in.
"Oh, sorry to interrupt," She said, clearly not expecting to find you there. Though she did question those expectations after realizing just how often she’d caught you hanging here.
Momo quickly composed herself, adjusting her glasses. "It's fine. What do you need?"
As her assistant explained the situation, you stepped back, giving her space to handle it. But you couldn't help but notice the subtle smile that played on her lips whenever she glanced your way.
The subtle gesture took you back to her scheming a couple weeks ago. She never put her plan in action. Not that you expected her to—you knew it was just fun and games. It didn’t keep people from talking though… With spring and summer coming up, her (non-secretive) visits to the kitchen were getting more frequent. Lots of actual business planning ahead of the most profitable season, done in broad daylight but behind the office closet door.
You could understand how it could be seen. Their speculations weren’t exactly baseless either; you weren’t strictly talking business in there... So as long as they remained gossip, the whispers didn’t bother you. But after Mingyu walked in on you a few days ago, you could tell this whole situation was starting to bother Momo.
The sound of the glass door closing pulled you out of your thoughts. Her assistant had finally left, and Momo turned back to you, her smile widening. "Where were we?"
You grinned, watching her pull on the string to close the blinds. The newfound privacy prompted you to lean in closer. "Right about here," you said, brushing your lips against hers.
Her kisses were still so hesitant. Soft, like she was stuck in your early days. When those lips of yours were all but a reminder, a blend of how sharp and hostile your words had been with her. As if she’d cut her own on the remnants of your journey up to this point.
Yet she’d steal yours often. More as time went on, being brave for the both of you. Allowing her doubts to grow into a blossoming connection, pulling you into a need, a craving for it she prayed wasn’t one sided.
She considered you a weakness. But as long as you consider her yours, she'll be fine with it.
The warmth of her breath mingled with yours, her taste a sweet blend of the marshmallow treat and something that was uniquely hers… She pulled away first, you gave her no choice.
Your breath was a little uneven, and she could see the same awe in your eyes that she felt in her heart. “I can’t believe I used to hate your guts,” she chuckled to herself.
“Wasn’t that long ago. Things could change again.” You joked, earning yourself a playful push.
“Let me go back to work.”
“But I’m here, it’s break time,” you pointed out, walking after her as she made her way back to her chair.
“That’s an entirely self-proclaimed thing. I never agreed to that.” She gave you a mock glare, but the corners of her mouth twitched in amusement.
“Why not? You’re the boss.”
“I am. That’s why I need to finish this,” she said, settling back into her chair, her focus returning to the papers on her desk.
You dropped into the armchair across from her desk and sighed dramatically. “Fine. I’ll wait.”
And so you did, you watched her as she worked, the way her fingers moved over the keyboard, the slight furrow of her brow when she concentrated. It was mesmerizing, seeing her in her element, so competent and strong.
Every once in a while, you couldn’t resist the urge to poke fun at her, tossing a paper ball you made out of boredom her way.
She sighed, picking it up and tossing it back at you without even looking up. “You’re such a child.”
You only shrugged, grabbing the ball from the ground, “Sure, but when are you gonna be done?”
She glanced up, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Soon.”
You sighed once more, and after a few more minutes of quiet, your mind drifted back to your earlier thoughts. About the whispers in the kitchen hallways.
Your eyes found Momo again, focused on whatever was on her monitor. She seemed preoccupied. This probably wasn’t the best time to bring it up, but it slipped your lips before you could even think to hold it back.
“You know, there’s rumors spreading back in the kitchen.”
Momo looked up from her report, all worries on her features fading to leave room for curiosity. “What kind of rumors?”
“You know, the kind that involves us,” you said, leaning back in your chair. “People are starting to notice how often you come by.”
She frowned slightly, considering your words. “I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. I never really did that before you.”
“Yeah, but it’s not just that,” you continued. “Some people are starting to think there’s more to it.”
Momo tensed up, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Right. Then let’s have our meetings in my office from now on.”
You raised an eyebrow. Kind of a drastic move, even coming from her. “Wouldn’t that be more suspicious if you stopped coming in all of a sudden?”
She sighed, clearly frustrated. “I just don’t want people talking.”
“Why are you so worried about it?” you asked, genuinely curious.
Her reaction was a little odd. Very different from the one she had at the restaurant, when you told her about Ryujin and Mingyu. You had a feeling she was serious about hiding from the kitchen, despite her passing off her worries as nothing more than jokes.
At first you thought it had to do with the industry. About the word going around fast or something along those lines. Thinking it had to do with her family, you agreed to her wishes. You thought it was a good thing too, and it would allow you to explore this whole thing in peace.
But if that was the case, you wouldn’t be visiting her office so often then, would you? The word would spread faster in corporate than in the kitchens.
It’s been a few weeks since you realized that, and her intentions were still as blurry. Her actions made little sense to you as days went by, but you knew best than to question them. You’d seen enough of that with the banquet.
But now, seeing her so visibly agitated… You didn’t like it. Her worries obviously ran deeper than just industry gossip. You could see the way her shoulders tensed, the worry etched into her expression. She wasn’t just concerned about the whispers
She was scared of them.
You took a deep breath, deciding to press gently. “Momo, is this really about the industry? Or something else? Because I can’t help if I don’t understand what’s really bothering you.”
Momo looked away, her fingers playing nervously with the edge of her blazer. “It’s not just the industry or my family,” she admitted softly. “It’s about you.”
“Me?”
She nodded, meeting your eyes again. “I don’t want them to think you only got the job because you’re sleeping with the boss. I don’t want anyone to undermine what you’ve achieved because of me.”
The weight of her words settled between you, heavy and uncomfortable. You hadn’t realized the extent of her concern, how much she was trying to shield you. Hell you hadn’t even realized she even was shielding you. “Momo, that’s—”
“I know it’s not true,” she interrupted, her voice trembling slightly. “But people can be cruel. They can twist things, make assumptions. They can act on those and… I just don’t want you to face that.”
You felt a pang of emotion at her vulnerability, at how much she was willing to protect you even at the cost of her own comfort. You reached out, taking her hand in yours. “Thank you for looking out for me. But we can’t live our lives based on what people might say or do. At this rate we’d have to hide forever.
“But what if they—”
“They won’t,” you interrupted gently. “And if they do, I’ll handle it. Don’t worry about me.”
Momo scoffed and rolled her eyes, a hint of the stubborn chef she was trying to hire just months ago resurfacing. She recognized that same defiance, that same determination. It was oddly reassuring.
“Besides,” you added, a mischievous glint in your eye, “even if they think all that, they would just sound stupid.”
Momo furrowed her eyebrows at your words. “What do you mean?”
“We never slept together,” you grinned.
Her confusion melted into amusement, and she cracked a smile despite the slight annoyance at your comment. “You’re right. I guess that’s one thing they can’t twist.”
You both shared a quiet laugh, the tension easing from the room. Momo’s grip on your hand tightened.
“You know,” you continued softly, “we can’t let them control how we live our lives. We’ve worked too hard to be where we are.”
She nodded, her eyes softening. “You’re right. It’s just… difficult sometimes.”
“I know,” you whispered, pulling her closer. “But we’ll figure it out. One step at a time.”
Momo took a deep breath. “Alright then. Let’s be careful, but not scared.”
“Exactly,” you said, feeling a weight lift off your shoulders. “No more sneaking around.”
You couldn’t blame her for being cautious. The industry was as small of a world, as it could be vicious. You’ve seen it on your own account. She was right, but unrealistic. Hiding your relationship forever wasn’t an option. You had to find a balance, a way to be together without giving people the ammo to hurt you.
—
The next day, you maintained a professional demeanor when Momo came by the restaurant. She was all for letting the stolen glances and subtle touches free, but you could tell it cost her.
She kept catching Ryujin and Mingyu glancing over at the two of you. They were definitely betting on you, and it took everything in her not to scold them into focusing on their work.
It was a Friday afternoon, and the kitchen was bustling with activity in preparation for the evening shift. You’d usually be running that kitchen like the marines, but Momo had requisitioned you for the next hour. So you stood at an empty corner of a counter, papers spread out before you, discussing the finer points of the upcoming summer menus.
You’d noticed her glancing around every so often, visibly nervous about this new setting. So you decided to bring her focus back on you.
“I think you might need to yell at me or something soon.”
Momo furrowed her eyebrows at the sudden change of subject. “What? Why?”
“I don’t know, they’re looking at us weird. Whispers might spread,” you teased.
She wanted to whine so badly. She also hesitated to actually yell at you, but instead, she settled on playing into your dumb teasing and saved her annoyance for later. Maybe she could give you the silent treatment or make you walk to her place instead of picking you up. Right now there were more important matters.
“I mean, I could, but…” She trailed off, looking over a dish you’d sketched out. “Would it work?”
You shrugged, “Don’t know until you try.”
She paused and stared at you. “But I thought we didn’t care about people talking anymore. If you miss me yelling at you, just say that.”
You stayed silent and shrugged, fiddling with your fingers. Neither denying nor confirming the claims.
Her jaw dropped, and she couldn’t hold herself back on shoving you. She deemed it necessary.
“So it did turn you on, you freak.”
“I never said that! Don’t put words in my mouth.”
“I wouldn’t have to if your intentions were clear.”
“My only intentions here are to cook and make you the best in the business.”
“I already am.” She said, handing you a pen. “Sign here; it’s the menus for the first half of the summer. You reviewed them, right?”
You nodded, taking the small stack. You went through it one more time, and it picked at Momo’s patience. “What are you doing?”
“Making sure there’s no surprise marriage clause hidden somewhere.” You smirked, eyeing her reaction above the stack of paper. “You never know with you business families.”
“You wish. Just sign it,” she sighed, desperately trying to hide the smile tugging at her lips.
“Wait, I just want to see something. There’s a dish I thought about last night. Might be able to take it up a notch.”
“How?”
You spiraled into an explanation, your words as animated as your hands. Momo listened intently, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she chimed in with her ideas.
“…and I think if we add a hint of yuzu, it’ll give it that perfect summer twist,” she suggested, her hands gesturing with that circle she always did. Regardless of what she was talking about, it was a circle. It made you smile.
You nodded, smiling at her passion. “Sounds good. I can try and get my contacts working at the market for some fresh ones.”
“But do you think it would pair well with the main courses?” Momo asked, her eyes focused on the menu.
You nodded, your attention equally split between the menu and the kitchen staff. “I think so. The flavors should complement each other nicely. But we should probably do a taste test first, just to be sure.”
Momo smiled, her eyes softening as she looked at you. “Do what you need to. I trust you.”
Time passed by, and the dinner shift approached. The staff around you visibly picked up the pace, and you had to get back to them soon so Momo gathered her things as she prepared to leave.
She let you walk her to the door separating the kitchen from the dining hall, your hand hovering over the small of her back. Your eyes lingered down on her as your conversation wrapped up on the hushed part of the business.
“Don’t forget to text me on the feedback from tonight’s service,” Momo said, adjusting her bag on her shoulder.
“I will,” you replied, a small smile playing on your lips. “Drive safe, alright?”
Without thinking, Momo leaned in and planted a quick kiss on your cheek, a reflex she’d picked up from your mornings together. The gesture was so natural and familiar that she didn’t realize what she’d done until she pulled back and saw the stunned expressions around the kitchen.
The kitchen fell silent. Every pair of eyes turned to you both, and the sudden stillness was almost deafening. Momo’s eyes widened in realization as she pulled back, her cheeks flushing a deep shade of red.
You were stunned too. Only you managed to keep your composure at least. You had to. Momo was already too far past the point of even trying to.
“Uhm, thanks,” you muttered, trying to play it off. You glanced around the kitchen, noting the shocked expressions on your staff’s faces.
Among them you noticed Ryujin and Mingyu, catching the triumphant look they exchanged.
Mingyu mouthed, “told you,” to Ryujin, who could barely contain her laughter.
Clearing your throat, you clapped your hands to get everyone’s attention. “Alright, let’s get back to work. We have a service to run.”
The staff quickly resumed their tasks, though the air was thick with unspoken questions and barely contained amusement. You and Momo continued your conversation as if nothing had happened, but the blush on her cheeks and the subtle smirk on your lips told a different story.
As the kitchen buzzed back to life, Ryujin slid up to Mingyu, her voice low. “Guess you won the bet.”
Mingyu chuckled, shaking his head. “Yeah, but I didn’t think it would happen like that. This is going to be interesting.”
