How to use CG100 Prog III or CGDI CG100X Programmer to repair BMW FRM3 Footwell module?
Check the details below.
The FRM3 Footwell Module is commonly found in the following vehicles:
BMW: E81, E82, E84, E87, E89, E90, E91, E92, E93, E70, E71, E72 series.
Mini: R55, R56, R57, R58, R59, R60, R61 series.
If the FRM module is faulty, you may encounter these issues:
Light switches do not respond.
Windows fail to go up or down.
Some lights, such as parking lights, remain constantly on.
Indicators stop working.
Interior lights fail to turn on.
How to repair FRM Module by CG100/CG100X?
CG100 and CG100X are excellent tools for repairing BMW FRM modules. While other programmers like VVDI Prog can read and write data, CG100 is specifically designed to repair the module.
Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Open the FRM module and remove the circuit board.
Use a special FRM clip adapter to connect the FRM module to the CG100 programmer.
Alternatively, you can use a CG BMW FRM Solder-free Adapter (recommended) or solder wires manually.
Connect the FRM module to the CG100 using the BDM4 adapter.
In the software, navigate to:
BCM>> BMW>> FRM>> E Series>> 9S12XEQ384 (3M25J)
Confirm the connection and press Start to read the data.
Connect a reliable power supply.
Ensure the voltage remains stable and does not drop.
Successfully read the chip’s D-Flash data.
Save and Repair
Turn off the power supply after reading.
Save the data file when prompted.
The CG100 will ask if you want to repair the FRM module—press “Yes”.
The repair process will begin automatically.
Wait for the process to complete. Do not disconnect during the repair.
Write the repaired EEPROM data back to the FRM module.
The FRM3 module will be successfully repaired and ready to reinstall in the vehicle.

CG Tech can add many types of diag only, but it seems it is useless, so they gave up. They will update more functions in the future.
1.CG70 can read out different size with CG100, so the file cannot be mixed. If the data size is same, then you can try to mix it. The data read out by CGDI CG70 can be used to clear the crash manually.
2.If you see the airbag ECU model you want in the CG70 software shows “internal testing”, it means this airbag model is still tested.
9.CG70 has lots of airbag PINOUT diagrams
It may have many Pinout for the same part number airbag models. You can try one by one.
10.If some car models still have crash after repair, they need to be dismantled for repair.
Use CG100 Prog III/CGDI CG100X Programmer to read out the data, and send the data to CG tech support to fix.
11.Some airbag ECU models require resistor 1KΩ
When performing [Auto Repair] and [Clear Crash] functions, some airbag ECU models like Hyundai 95910-1R000, 1R050, 1R100, 1R150, 1R200, 1R210, 1R220, 1R250, 1R300, 1R350, 1R450, 1R550, etc need to connect a 1KΩ resistor to the airbag ECU according to the [ClearCrash_info] diagram.

How to fix CGDI “Software is Unauthorized”?
Recently, some customers gave feedback that CGDI device (CGDI MB, CG100/CG100X, CG FC-200…) had subscription update problem. They purchased the update service, but the software prompted “Software is unauthorized and cannot be used…”.
Here is the solution:
The main cause is that CG server has some issues.
It can be solved with the following operation.
Click the icon at the upper corner of software main page (see the image below)
Select Server Connection>> Mainland China
Restart the software, it should be fine.
If the software subscription expires, order the related subscription.

Download and install CG100X software (CG100X V1.1.2.0 download)
If this is your first time to use, please register and activate CGDI CG100X before operation.
Connect CG100X programmer to computer via the USB cable, and also connect with 12V 2A power supply.
CG100X registration:
Open CG100X software, and you will receive the activation prompt “The device is not activated, cannot be used. Now activating the device will get 1-year free software upgrade and technical support service. Do you want to continue?”
Click “OK” to continue.
Then you will see “Before activation, please log in to your account and bind your device.”
If you have an account already from CGDI MB & CGDI BMW & CG PRO 9S12 & CG100, click “OK” and log in directly.
If you do not have an account, go to register an account. Click “OK” and choose “No account? Create one!”.
Input the personal info incl. user name, password, name, phone number, and email address to create an account. (Better type all info in a note and copy them to the related position in CG100X software. Use the simple username and password which is easy to remember in the future.)
After filling in all the information, click the “Submit” button. And the account is created successfully.
Copy your username and password and log in. Then the tool will be activated successfully.
If you cannot receive the code by phone number or email address, please change the server connection area one by one and try again.
CGDI CG100X Activation:
After signing in successfully, click “OK” and click “Activate the Device Now” at the top of the page.
Then you will get the message “Bind your device to your account, then activate. Please confirm to continue.”
Click “OK”
Now the activation is successful, and you can see the subscription time (device service end date).
CG100X mileage repair:
Click “Dashboard” in the main menu
Select car series, brand, model, and year/chip
Double-click the year/chip you selected or click “Next”
The related operation instructions (precautions, cable, and wiring diagram) appear on the screen.
