Pet peeve but i really dislike fics that give Castiel’s wings a very corporeal, bird-like quality (with feathers, grooming, oil glands, etc).
Like, I’m all for making Cas weirder, but giving him animalistic features makes him weird in the wrong direction. It makes him more human in a sense, more of-this-world, which he’s very much not.
I want Cas to be so radioactive he sets off Geiger counters! I want his prolonged touch to melt and warp things, to turn wood to diamond! I want him to project a shadow of iridescent flares! I want compass needles driven crazy around him because he distorts the magnetic field!
Sure, wings are sexy and all but angels in the SPN-verse are more akin to celestial objects than to fucking birds. Don’t force the metaphor
