So, we have quite a few CDLA drivers at my company that are legal immigrants from various parts of Africa and the Middle East, as well as a significant number of legal immigrants from South America and the Caribbean.

I honestly think it’s just…so freaking impressive that someone who speaks two or more languages looked at their career options and decided “least amount of effort for relatively good pay” and chose driving.

Because honestly, if you can exist in a state where you just react in the safest way possible to other drivers being absolutely moronic, instead of being emotionally invested in the road (ie road rage) that is LEGIT impressive.

Also? Driving professionally is actually hard because of all the regulations that need to be followed? You need to literally be a bunny ears lawyer about regulations, on top of dealing with faulty ELD systems and equipment (gps tracking systems that record drive time so that drivers cannot fake paper logs) PLUS being able to pass a DOT inspection on the fly? You basically have to be able to give your self a State Trooper inspection every time you get in any vehicle that can haul more than a mattress strapped to the roof.

I really, genuinely like the people I work with, but I don’t know how much longer I can tolerate the industry.

Realizan limpieza de estero Lulú en La Troncal

La prefectura del Cañar con el propósito de prevenir los estragos que causa el invierno realiza trabajos para proteger la infraestructura vial y evitar inundaciones que afecten al sector agrícola en el cantón La Troncal. En este contexto, una excavadora labora en el dragado del estero Lulú, en el recinto La Puntilla, parroquia Pancho Negro. Esta limpieza facilita la descarga de aguas lluvias, beneficiando tanto a la Puntilla Vieja, Cdla. Ibérica como al Colegio Tomás Rendón y escuela de educación Básica 6 de Agosto. Los trabajos incluyen el dragado, encauzamiento, protección, y reforzamiento en los tramos definidos como críticos y vulnerables. Santiago Federico Gárate Andrade, técnico responsable Zonal del cantón La Troncal, indicó que el retiro de material y sedimento permite recuperar los cauces naturales, a más del direccionamiento del flujo del agua, evitando inundaciones. "Estas labores son muy importantes para los moradores, a fin de precautelar su integridad y evitar inundaciones o desbordamiento del estero", dijo El prefecto, Marcelo Jaramillo señaló que la prefectura del Cañar se encuentra realizando tareas de prevención con el fin de minimizar el impacto de los riesgos naturales en los cantones propensos a inundaciones. “La dureza de invierno está por llegar, por la tanto es importante trabajar en prevención para enfrentar los estragos que podría causar la llegada del Fenómeno del Niño”, dijo. Los esteros obstruidos por sedimentos y vegetación impiden el flujo natural del agua, aumentando el riesgo de desbordamientos e inundaciones en zonas aledañas. in junior year of highschool my art teacher would let our ceramics class play music of our choice off of her desktop. we usually used spotify or youtube but she did have one album downloaded on her computer. it was a halloween sound effects/ambience collection. i dont remember why she had it. there was a track on there called "burning screams" which was exactly what it sounds like. just a cacophony of screams alongside crackling fire. she only let us play it on very special occasions, and we would cheer and jump with joy every time. it was like a pizza party to us
