Ice Planet Stormer
“Calling all heroes, it’s Hero February!”
Inspired by ben.cossy’s Ice Planet Stormer MOC released last year and the recent boom in Ice Planet 2002 nostalgia, I’m happy to finally release Ice Planet Stormer from his cryosleep!
This creation is Alpha Leader Stormer, refitted for a Brain Attack mission in the frozen wastes of a mysterious planet far from the Makuro Belt. Amidst the glacier barrens and tundra bluffs of this distant world, the evil brains have been spotted on another scheme!
For years now I’ve wanted to attach the Nexo Knights sword as a wristblade for a hero, and Stormer here was the perfect candidate! While the end result did involve some part modification, I think it’s a perfect Ice Planet substitute for his Brain Attack sword!
I was also keen to keep the original blue/black/trans-orange color scheme, but this gave me quite a few problems with the torso, which was colorlocked in pearl dark gray and flat silver and so didn’t give me many options. Fortunately, I was able to dye the part black! Paired with some blue shoulder addons I got from a bootleg set, he’s geared up and ready to open up a can of brain freeze!
Also includes obligatory photo of Stormer and Commander Cold!
Please leave any thoughtful comments below telling me what you like about this creation! Have a happy Hero February!

The Toa Ulia! An all-female team composed of Toa of the six Prime elements: * Mareela, Toa of Water * Nulvot, Toa of Air * Aeza, Toa of Stone * Rylsha, Toa of Earth * Caleva, Toa of Fire * and Tenari, Toa of Ice
More info below the cut!
The builds of the team are not the most complex, but I wanted to unify their elements in a way that the sets would. They have matching torso, arm, leg designs, etc. Tenari and Caleva share inika shoulder chest armor, CCBS/inika leg armor arms and double inika leg armor thighs.
Aeza and Rylsha both sport a Kakama on their chest, as well as a unique arm design with Metru forearms and tires
Mareela and Nulvot share similar, but not identical torso designs (they were closer in the past, but Nulvot's was changed).
There are a number of other, smaller details as well. Nulvot and Rylsha both share a CCBS/Inika thigh design, Aeza and Caleva both use chest hoses, Rylsha and Mareela use a near-identical shin construction, and there are several pairs of matching feet among the team too.
I'm normally more of a fan of unorthodox team compositions and builds, but I had a lot of fun doing this sort of semi-large scale project of making a vanilla-element Toa team. I've never had to opportunity to do so (although with the genders flipped for most of them! which was another something interesting)
I tried hard to make each team member distinct from each other and unique as a moc, yet cohesive as a team, and while it maybe was not my most groundbreaking work I found it interesting.
I hope it was interesting for you too, reader, and thank you for reading!

I've watched One Royal Holiday, A Royal Christmas, both of which were cute, but then I also watched The Royal Nanny which was genuinely really great. It's pretty new so if you haven't seen it, I can recommend it! On my list of others I might watch because I've downloaded them, in no particular order, are A Princess for Christmas, Hitched for the Holidays, Let It Snow and Christmas at Dollywood. Also I'm @all-the-way-down-here, I suffer from the curse of my Pedro blog being a sideblog 😅 (2/2)
OK SO. (some hallmark movie thoughts under the cut)
one royal holiday: i watched it last year and enjoyed it. laura osnes is a liiiiiiitle too peppy for me, but she has a beautiful singing voice.
a royal christmas: i LOATHE lacey chabert, but the premise of that one is one that i like. i love Jane Seymour and she pulls off overbearing mom PERFECTLY. (the disgust on her face when she got handed that snowglobe hhah)
the royal nanny: i just watched this one over the weekend and i actually really liked it. the action sequences were ... lackluster, but it was FUN.
a princess for christmas: it was ok. the main girl was a little annoying in the role, and im not a fan of sam heughan. but i liked the kids - and i really liked the whole "found family" message in it.
hitched for the holidays: have not seen it, but joey lawrence? YES PLEASE.
let it snow: CCB is one of my least favorite hallmark actresses, but that movie is good. jesse hutch is really likable, and the plot is predictable (that was actually partially the basis for Christmas in the Pines with Marcus Moreno) - but it plays out well. there's just enough christmas magic in it that i dont change the channel when it's on.
christmas at dollywood: i truly enjoyed this one. Danica is another actress i wouldn't go out of my way to watch, but Niall Matter ... WHOOOOOO BOY. love him.
A few that I recommend if you can get your hands on them:
3 wise men and a baby (new this year. fantastic cast. tyler hynes is smoking hot
christmas at the palace (another royal themed one -but it involves ice skating and merrit patterson is adorable)
a timeless christmas (Ryan Paevey is BEAUTIFUL to look at) and the plot of this one was so much less cheesy than they usually are ... I also really really like the woman that played the lead here.
on the 12th date of christmas (TYLER HYNES.) and this one (and the next movie) are where I got the idea for the scavenger hunt in CFC)
christmas scavenger hunt (the main girl in it has some seriously cringey dialogue and the dude is not 100% my cup of tea) but the premise of the movie was fun.
OK THATS ENOUGH. (and that's fair, thank you for telling me who you are!!!)
the second part of your ask came through first, weirdly enough - and im sure that our americanized versions of royalty are so far off the mark that it wouldn’t even make a good drinking game to point out the things that are wrong because everyone would be SLOSHED ten minutes in.
I can only imagine what it would be like to visit a castle; i know how it feels to walk into friends’ houses when they have large, fancy ones and they’re nowhere NEAR royal.
#ask something-tofightfor#hallmark movies#i have a lot of opinions#the amount of these i have seen is embarrassing#but here we are

Setting up for Twilight of the Gods?
Throne of Glass series:
The gods began shouting, running toward her, as Aelin ripped open a hole in their sky. Right into a world she had seen only once. Had accidentally opened a portal into one night in a stone castle. Distant, baying howls cracked from the bleak gray expanse. A portal into a hell-realm. A door now thrown open. (KoA, Pg796)
World-walker. Wayfarer. Others had done it before. She would find a way, too. A way home. Not longer the Queen Who Was Promised. But the Queen Who Walked Between Worlds. (KoA, Pg798)
Worlds of water, worlds of ice, worlds of darkness. She slammed through them, faster than a shooting star, faster than light. Home. She had to find home—Worlds of lights, worlds of towers that stretched to the skies, worlds of silence. (KoA, Pg799)
ACOTAR series:
“When she first came here, she was obsessed with theories restarting the existence of different realms—different worlds. Living on top of each other without even knowing it. Whether there is merely one existence, our existence, or if it might be possible for worlds to overlap, occupying the same space but delegated by time and a whole bunch of other things I can’t even begin to explain to you because I barely understand them myself.” (ACOSF, Pg154)
“They were based on truth. Based on ancient, near-primordial beings who existed here before the High Fae split into courts, before the High Lords. Some call them the First Gods. They were beings with almost no physical form, but a keen, viscous intelligence. Humans and Fae alike were their prey. Most were hunted and driven into hiding or imprisonment ages ago. But some remained, lurking in forgotten corners of the land.” (ACOSF, Pg178)
“Which death-god are you?” (ACOSF, Pg546)
Crescent City series:
“I’ve got a nine-thousand-year-old Rhondinian bust of Thurr here.” Basically a broody male who was supposed to pass for the nearly forgotten minor storm deity. All that remained of him in their culture was the behemoth of a planet named after him. And Thursdays apparently. (CC2, Pg95)
Hel is another world. Another planet. Aidas said so—months ago, I mean. The demons worship different gods than we do, but what happens when the worlds overlap? When demons come here, do their gods come with them? And all of us, the Vanir…we all came from elsewhere. We were immigrants into Midgard. But what became of our home worlds? Our home gods? Do they still pay attention to us? Remember us? (CC2, Pg267)
An image blasted through her mind. She had seen this before, carved in stone in the lobby of the CCB. A Fae male posed like an avenging god, hammer raised to the sky, a channel for his power—Hunt unleashed his lightning at the Shepherd, the Reapers observing with wide eyes. Bryce was too fast, even for him, as she leapt in front of the blow, Starsword extended. A wild theory, only half-formed, but—Hunt’s lightning hit the Starsword, and the world erupted. (CC2, Pg349)

Over the course of her four decades in the entertainment industry, Candace Cameron Bure has gone from charming Full House child star to Christmas movie queen. Now, Bure is not only starring in two new Great American Family Christmas movies, A Christmas Less Traveled (which premiered on November 16) and Home Sweet Christmas (premiering December 1), she’s also the network’s Chief Creative Officer and will be a key part of their Christmas Festival taking place at the Northwell Park at UBS Arena in New York from November 22 to December 29.
Bure is certainly keeping busy this holiday season, and she took the time to tell First for Women all about her latest holiday movies, taking on creative roles behind the scenes, why she still loves Full House so much and more.
First for Women: What is Great American Family’s Christmas Festival going to be like?
Candace Cameron Bure: I’m so pumped for the Christmas Festival. It’s something that we’ve been developing for several years. It’s a five-week experience, and it’s unlike some of the conventions that are out there, which are all about celebrity meet and greets with autographs and photos.
This is an experience where you can bring your family and it’s all outdoors. You can ice skate and craft and take pictures with Santa Claus, and we’re going to have “carol-oke,” with Christmas songs and nightly tree-lighting ceremonies. We’ll be premiering our original movies, and different actors will be there depending on which weekend you come. You’ll have the option to meet us and participate in Q&As and have a great time.
It’s an evolution of the Christmas movie to give people this experience of feeling like they’re in this little town with all the fun things that we love watching in those movies.
youtube
FFW: In addition to acting, you also serve as Great American Family’s Chief Creative Officer. What does this role entail?
CCB: As Chief Creative Officer, I’m looking at the state of the network in general and developing our content and all of the films that will be on both the channel and our streaming platform, Great American Pure Flix. I look at the overall branding and what we want our audience to feel and experience when they watch our movies.
I develop things along with the network from the ground up. We’ve really created the tone of the network and we listen to our audience. We’ve invited audience feedback since we started, and we love hearing it and developing content that’s really in line with our vision alongside our audience. I have a big creative role in getting to oversee all aspects and make sure that there’s consistency, and I absolutely love that part of my job.
I’ve been in this business for over 40 years and I’ve been producing television for more than 10 years, so I have a lot of experience and I’ve done my jobs pretty well. That was a big draw of coming over to Great American Family, to have that opportunity to help develop the network. I still love acting, but I think the entrepreneurial side of me is so much more than what I’ve been as an actor, so it was a natural evolution for me, being in this business for so long.
FFW: What was the process of bringing your two latest Christmas movies to the screen like?
CCB: Because I produce them, I’m there at every step. I actually found the script for A Christmas Less Traveled. It was written by two wonderful women, Masey McLain and Taylor Kalupa. At the network, we’re searching for stories that are incredibly heartfelt and for the family, and also have moments of faith. I have a great relationship with those writers and read that script and knew that it was going to be my next Christmas movie.
We went into development and since I’m both part of the network and a producer on the films, it actually streamlines the process a lot. At the network alongside my other great colleagues, our decisions are pretty easily made, because I know what I’m looking for within the film. I think a lot of Christmas movies get a bad rap that everything’s filmed in summertime and all the snow is fake in every movie, but that was all real snow in A Christmas Less Traveled, and we did film it in the winter. It was wonderful.
youtube
For Home Sweet Christmas, Cameron Mathison and I wanted to do a Christmas movie together for so long, and we finally found a script that I thought would be really cute. We play two childhood friends who have known each other forever, and that felt natural because Cameron and I have known each other for a really long time and it’s a very sweet story. It’s more true to a traditional rom-com Christmas movie, whereas A Christmas Less Traveled has a little bit more of a faith thread throughout it.
youtube
FFW: People love Christmas movies for their escapism. Is that something you relate to, as someone who has worked on so many of them?
CCB: When you watch these movies you know they’re going to have a happy ending and the two people are going to fall in love, and you get to go on a journey with them. It takes you out of the day-to-day and you get to relax and settle into these stories. I think that’s very much the reason why people love watching these movies.
There’s been legitimate research that shows people are happier when it’s Christmastime, and that’s why people put their decorations up earlier and earlier. Looking at decorations and Christmas trees makes people happy. People want to feel happy and these Christmas movies do exactly that. You don’t have to think about them too hard. It’s not The Matrix. You know what you’re going to get and you get to enjoy it throughout.
FFW: You’re also beloved for playing D.J. Tanner on Full House. What was it like being on the show as a teenager and then reprising your role decades later for Fuller House?
CCB: It was such a gift to be able to do that. Full House and Fuller House are truly my favorite work that I’ve done in my life. As a child actor, it was so significant for me to be on the show and create these incredible relationships and play this character that has literally lived on for so many years. Full House has never been off the air in almost 40 years. It’s always been playing in one place or another, and now we have different generations of kids that have grown up with the show.
With Fuller House, to be able to come back and play D.J. as an adult and see where she is today and work with everyone on the show was beautiful. We really are a family, and it’s so special to me. The love that you see onscreen in both of the shows is the real love that we have for one another in real life.
FFW: Do you feel nostalgia for the Full House era of the ’80s and ’90s?
CCB: I appreciate the fact that all the fashion has come back around, but now I’m at the age where I walk into a store and I’m like, “I’m not wearing that because I wore that when I was 18.” I’ve been there, done that. I don’t know that I want to ever wear ’90s fashion again, but I love seeing the younger generation wear those styles and do it in a more current way. I think it’s very cool. As a true girl of the ’80s and ’90s, I still love all things from the era. I’ve always shared my love of New Kids on the Block, and I still go to their concerts every single year.
FFW: Do you have a favorite Christmas movie that you’ve starred in?
CCB: I have to go back and count how many Christmas movies I’ve been in. I think I’m at like 15 or 16, maybe 17 Christmas movies, but I’ve done over 50 television movies in my career, which is mind-blowing to me. There actually aren’t as many Christmas movies as I would think relative to the amount of TV movies that I’ve done, but a lot of them are special. They’re like my children, and I love them all equally, but in different ways.
I have to say one of my favorites was A Shoe Addict’s Christmas with Jean Smart. She’s such an icon. Her career has been so enormous, and now she’s on Hacks winning Emmy awards. The fact that I got this little pocket where Jean Smart was willing to do a Christmas movie with me was very special, and she was so good in it.
youtube
FFW: As the “Queen of Christmas Movies,” how do you keep the holiday movie genre feeling fresh year after year?
CCB: I’m always looking to do a story that I haven’t done before, and there has to be some sort of character experience that I haven’t already gone through. I’m 48 years old now, and I started these Christmas movies in my early 30s. I’m looking for stories to go along with my age. I’m not the young 30-something, and I want to find the roles where I’m a mom, I’ve been married or I’m currently married. I want to find the romance in different places within the seasons and ages of my life and the lives of my characters.

Belated Mon hello, now on Tues (I blame the soccer.) I hope you are getting a little time for yourself. Even going to the grocery alone can sometimes work for me (on Sun I went to Costco between World Cup games and ate all the samples and barely avoided buying the giant box of ice cream bars.) Also, a glass of chilled white wine restores balance. -- cheapchinesebicycle
You are a much stronger woman than I. Ice cream bars… yum. I have a weakness when it comes to ice cream. Rarely do I meet a flavor or form that I don’t like. Aaaaand now I am craving ice cream sandwiches.
Got my airline tickets to go see my mom in two weeks. Had a few hours to myself to finish drafting the next OC chapter. Drank a mimosa and spent a few days away from tumblr. That’s about as much as I can expect right now.
Let the editing begin.

@parantapa :\\ Eugene
It was supposed to be a relief mission that had quickly turned into a battlefield. The troopers moved swiftly knowing there was danger in the area for any civilians. A call was given to the troops, the commander running to another angle to fill in a gap when he saw the man in the middle of the battlefield. Possibly a civilian, it didn’t matter. Guns were swapped out, pistols being unholstered with ease as commander moved to provide cover.
An order over comms given, the troopers moved to provide cover fire to the commander while he pulled the man behind cover. A moment of a roll, the trooper moved out to aim at something flammable. Create an explosion, redirect their attention. A moment of shifting and his attention moved to the one standing by him, and while he wasn’t entirely familiar with the senators.. he did recognize a few of the representatives. “--Representative Fitzherbert?”
There was a moment of pause, the helmet of the trooper shifting to glance over and aim at yet another canister left unattended and cause more chaos on the enemy’s lines. “What are you doing here, sir?” Confusion filtered through the helmet’s modulators, shifting to figure out a trail back to friendly lines. Arm with comms came up, the trooper shifting so that he could take a knee. “Make a hole--I’m bringing a representative back to our lines.”
More distractions would be needed for the droids--too stupid to know when they were being fooled.

And to close off the MOCs for now, some revamps of the Turaga Metru. Well, less revamps and more substitutes. The Turaga sets are fine as they are. They fit right in with the aesthetic of 2001. But, they are very small, and as the sets got bigger, the Turaga got more and more out of scale. So, I went ahead and built these six to swap in during the later years. And yeah, I know the Av-Matoran build is widely hated, but wow is it perfect for Turaga.
Also, since they're somehow not overly visible in any of these pics, I'll say now that all of them have a Rahkshi foot attached to their back to simulate a robe/cape accessory thing, and to add to their elderly stature.
I tried my best to keep each Turaga's unique traits intact in these scale-ups. Like his set counterpart, Vakama has a slightly longer neck than any of his teammates
Also, here he is expounding wisdom to Takanuva for the sake of a size comparison.
Nokama, she of the really long arms. Noticed her hands were blue instead of the proper black during the group shot, so I fixed that here. I think I used up my last pair of black hands though, so maybe that's why they were blue in the first place...
Matau the singer is slightly more hunched than most of his compatriots, so I attached his neck out just a little further. Build may be slightly illegal, but eh, it's fine, it's fine. Also he gets wrist bling and slightly stubby arms because I don't have small CCBS shells in lime.
Matau was a little hunched, but Whenua is so hunched he gets a whole different torso. Look at him, his shoulders are level with his eyes!
Guess which mask and staff I only have one of in the right colour? Onewa's the tallest of the bunch, so he gets loooong legs that have been locked into a 90-degree angle so he isn't too tall.
And finally, Nuju gets a buttload of CCBS bones in light grey since his limbs are all at a weird middle ground between Nokama and Onewa in length. I guess that makes sense, yeah? Since Ice is, technically speaking, both water and stone, but in practice is neither?
And because I'm a cruel bastard, have this image too.
*insert evil laughter here*

Victoria, Daniel and the kids last weekend at the Icehotel in Sweden. It’s from their Facebook account. They stayed in the suite Carl Philip designed.
I have to say this is my absolute favorite family photo of them ever. It’s so beautiful and perfect for a Sweden ad with ice but midsummer touch 😍😍
I saw them and posted on @duchessofvastergotland! It’s so cute and a lovely touch that the room was designed by Prince Carl Philip
