ok last post for now. IN LIGHT OF CAPCOM SAYING A FEW NEW GAMES WOULD BE OUT BY MARCH 2023. these are my top 10 IDEAL ace attorney games ranked in no particular order by how bad i want them to be real. this will be a long post so it's under the cut. spoiler for basically every ace attorney game

Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney (Investigations). Simon gets to be her weird little girl and they make funny banter about random people in that way you can only have with a bruncle/neister bff relationship. This game is ideal because it's like a kind cat owner who has a very mean cat that they keep promising won't bite you but the cat has not only already bitten you but also summoned a fully grown hawk to attack you. Simply fantastic game material. This is also ideal because Athena would get to be the head of her own game for once.

Ema Skye: Ace Detective (Investigations). In addition to the last post, I am so incredibly fond of the original idea for the investigations series to be about Ema. Let Ema have Kay as an assistant, or maybe Klavier. Lana gets to cameo and take on the Beanix in AA4 role where she shows up to give some cryptic advice and then disappears.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney 2. I cannot get enough of this game. Please give me more. I love it so uncontrollably much. 10/10 best game of the century. Please give Apollo an actually coherent arc involving what happened with Kristoph and the setup involving the black psyche locks instead of a game that was Still Just About Phoenix All Along, Actually. Apollo Justice is such an incredible setup for a second trilogy that just... fails to deliver. Please follow through with these ideas. The no-spoiler rule has been the WORST thing to happen to the Ace Attorney franchise. Phoenix is an afterthought in this game.

Sholmes and Mikotoba: Reminiscence. I really want a game just about their escapades. I have not even played DGS yet I am so fascinated with these two and their history. It doesn't even have to be a full game, just like a DLC case or two. If this already exists please let me know but don't spoil me as I'll be liveblogging my playthrough of DGS and DGS2 I believe.

Sebastian Gets His Own Thing Because I Like Him: The Game. Speaks for itself. I really really like Sebastian.

The Prosecutors Office: The Game. I am desperate to see everybody interacting in one confined space while the Paynes stand there silently, unnoticed. Ideally, this will be in the art style of Investigations with overworld pixel sprites. It will be fully comedic. I can only survive off of fanfiction for so long.

Mia Fey: Ace Attorney. Here's the unsurprising entry. I would like to see more of Mia and Diego's relationship and would really like to see Feenie co-counsel. I think Lana should be the prosecutor because Mia has two hands and she is a bisexual girlboss. Lanamiego trueness. Lana and Diego do not get along but in the funny way.

Jailbreak. I really want a small story (fits better as dlc, probably) about the main villains in prison. I do understand that this is unrealistic and entirely inspired by fanart I've seen, but look me in the eyes and tell me it has absolutely no comedic potential. Exactly. It'd be hilarious. Kristoph and Matt Engarde would NOT get along and I live to see the day they inevitably strangle each other while Dahlia laughs from the corner, timeline be damned. Ft. Simon cameo where he looks wildly unimpressed by everything happening around him.

Trucy Wright: Magician for Hire. I love the idea of Phoenix being wildly supportive of his daughter's dreams, and I also really want Trucy to be able to express how she actually feels about the Gramaryes. She deserves better than the treatment the games give her. I think that she, Kay, and Ema should get to be the second-coming of the Yatagarasu.

Franziska von Karma: INTERPOL. I really want a game about Franziska, Lang, Interpol, and most importantly, please give us a Colias cameo. You don't understand. Colias Palaeno showed up for one case in one game and I somehow found him the funniest little man ever. I want a Colias cameo. Franziska also deserves to be able to lead her own game, as she has been trapped in Capcom's basement for too long. Lang is her weird little girl. Third DeLites cameo! I love the DeLites.

HEADCANON 112 / TIMELINE.   so after days of sitting on what the fuck my timeline is going to be i’ve finally come up with this  --  it’s a running timeline and will be added on and/or edited as i write more on certain NPCs or events that i might add between games or parts of the timeline.

>  born younger sibling to vergil and things go on as normal until the fire where the two get separated and presumes vergil dead.                       >  with him being a terrified and emotional mess of a kid at this point                         he didn’t  100%   follow eva’s instructions to begin with as he runs                         (   with rebellion in arms   )   straight to authorities and ends up                         having to ID her body later.  he lies in saying he knows her but                         breaks in days later in the middle of the night to steal her body                         and  bury her on the family’s grounds.   (  there was no real grave                         marker made due to dante wanting to leave red grave   but    dante                         knew 100% where it was pre dmc5.  i say  was  because with the                          qliphoth pretty much showing up in the backyard and the destruction                         of the house later  . .  the grave was   HUGELY  disturbed.  obviously.   )  >  tries to live on the street                      >  doesn’t last longer than two months before CPS finds                          and identifies him.  at this point he’s too tired to really run away                         and gets put into the foster system.  >  in the foster system and going from family to family.                     >  runs from some fosters due to figuring out that the only                         reason he was taken in was due to government checks                         and he given bare minimum care.  he’d jump back to the                         streets,  do a bit better due to his older age but end up                         back to an orphanage or in the foster system.                     >  ends up with   gavreel,  comfortable and starting to settle in                         on staying with the cast out angel and her family only to find her                         dead due to demon’s looking for  him�� which starts to breed a deep                         guilt.  picks up what he can ;  mostly money and anything small or                         valuable before ending up back in the system.                     >  last foster with gaia  ;  follows devil may cry’s anime canon with how                         dante ended up on the coastal town morris island before gonyakzu                         appeared and massacred the town in trying to find dante himself                         and feast upon him. gaia and dante   --   now known as tony   --                           escape the town with blame on their backs.  dante knowing that                         gonyakzu was after him and the people dead are essentially are                         on his hands.  he parts with gaia with gaia after her death soon                         afterwards,  product of being injured at some point in the escape.   >  starts testosterone at age 15  -  16 under the table with money held tight after gavreel’s demise and him running along with earnings made with gaia’s bakery business and after a deal to take care of an annoying demon for the doctor.   >  finally starts mercenary work still under the alias of tony redgrave and frequents bobby’s cellar for jobs and actually makes a couple friends  -  meets nell goldstein

Hello and welcome to my essay on Why Jake Marshall Should Come Back and Why His Brother Neil Marshall Should Also Be Here (I need the cowboy brothers please capcom I'll give you everything I own)

I've been chugging water this entire time and I'm about to scream but let's stop procrastinating and get on with it.

So I haven't gotten overly far in the series cause I dont have it and i watch other people play it so I technically shouldn't know who Kay is but I know anyway thank you fanfiction so I dont fully know her personality but at the same time I kinda do. (I dont know when she came in tho and I also dont know ANYTHING about her backstory) Let's move on.

Jake is very cool I love him so much capcom please bring him back and also give me his brother I want to see the mystery gang (haha scooby doo reference) please I need it to survive

(I personally headcanon) JAKE MARSHALL IS TRANS YOU CAN PRY THIS FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS (you will be unsuccessful) Neil was very very supportive which brought them closer and helped Jake transition and also made sure everyone got his brothers pronouns right.

The two of them really liked cowboy and the wild west from a young age and when Jake was 16 (Neil would be around 10 if the wiki is correct) he gave Neil one of his very cool old cowboy hats that didn't fit him anymore. Neil wore it until he couldn't anymore and the hat retired and was hung in Neil's future office.

Jake was in karate for a while but was eventually taken out cause he couldn't make the time since be was going to college too (he got up to a 2nd degree brown belt in fancy karate term) Neil also wanted to learn so Jake started teaching him how to fight and stuff. (Jake also helped Neil with homework) they also at some point took hire riding lessons after begging their parents for like. Years.

Neil expressed interest in becoming a prosecutor in his early teens, and did research and studying on his own time to help get him a law degree and to see whether it was something he wanted to do (spoiler alert: it is something he wants to do) after awhile Neil finds he really enjoys it, talking about new things he's learned to Jake (who is supportive of it, he's becoming a detective after all and what kind of brother would he be if he didn't support his little brother?)

Eventually the two get their dream jobs and they LOVE IT. Neil finds pride in putting away criminals and Jake is a great detective who leaves no stone unturned. They eventually meet the gang, Lana, Goodman, and Angel. They often absolutely decimate case after case (finsing the true culprit every time) and at some point meet Gant (Nail and Jake dont trust him, but they keep that to themselves)

Neil meets Edgeworth and Franziska first, him being a prosecutor and all, and eventually pokes at Edgeworth enough to finally get him to hang out with their little group, and they all go to the bar or something (Edgeworth had fun but he wont admit that)

Later on at some point Jake starts mentoring Gumshoe (I love Gumshoeso much) about being a detective. Gumshoe looks up to Jake and thinks he's cool. They hang out sometimes too (:

After hanging out for awhile at the job they finally go to, you guESSED IT, THE FRILLIN RANCH YEAHHHH BABYYYYYYY ok so I imagine that Jake and Neil would have to practically DRAG Edgeworth and, incidentally, Franziska to the ranch, where they show off their horse riding skills and attempt to teach the others. Franziska is a natural, as she took some lessons at the request of her father, Manfred von Karma (i hate manfred) the horses HATE Edgeworth, so he chills with Kay (hey Kay's here now) and chats with her and her father, who he knows vaguely. Lana looks cool as hell on a horse, Goodman is trying his best, and Angel is there for the ride.

They ride a trail led by Neil, who frequently comes to take care of the horses with the kind elderly couple who takes care of the ranch, and have a wonderful time seeing the wilderness. (Kay rides with Neil upfront and Edgeworth, much to his despise, rides with Franziska. She makes fun of him for it is a sisterly way for the entire ride)

The group is AMAZING I LOVE THEM SO MUCH and im gonna leave it here for now cause this is already super long and I haven't even MENTIONED ema yet. Lowkey might draw some of this when its not really late. Thank you for reading this far and have a lovely day!!!

Capcom should bring back the really cool and amazing Patrolman Jake Marshall (give him back Detective status) who is lovely and has Texas aesthetic and should also give us an AU where his brother is still alive because I want to see them both interact so in this essay I will-
