Round 2, bracket B, poll 4
Propaanda for Janaya: "Super cool enemies to allies due to circumstance to lovers with political intrigue due to differing cultures (also Amaya is deaf and that’s pretty cool - she called Janai cute in sign language in the third season in the show and they weren’t even dating yet)."
"They're both super badass and Amaya is amazing deaf representation"

"He never told me anything about this,"
Ashen snarled, stabbing a knife through the parchments and into the wooden table. He stood up. His tail flicking angrily, he began to pace back and forth. Detailed on the parchments, signed only as "an old crewmate of your father's", was a long letter, telling about a supposed pirate captain's life that his father led many years ago. Several sheets of summed-up stories of The Legendary Pirate Lord Rafael Stark, explaining details of the "Art of the Viper", a handful of sketches of a pair of blades, and a rough nautical chart showing paths to Tural...
"Wait...Tural? He was from TURAL??"
The distressed miqo'te stumbled back to the table, nearly barreling his chair over as he plucked up the knife. He turned, snatching the parchment up, and returning to pacing while poring over the crude handwriting.
Tumblr media
"Come to Tural" "I will explain everything there"
Ashen read and re-read the last couple of lines twice, thrice, four times, before letting out a heavy sigh and slumping down on his chair, head in his hands.
"The Legendary Pirate Lord Rafael Stark, huh...?
And you never told me, bastard..."

I love how some the comments in Jimmy's Fandom Wiki page bullies that one person for saying "I love him" by replying "no" and "you don't". Like, gods forbid, you like a doll that is actually evil and not just murderous!🙄 These same people are probably the ones who will say murder is okay in fiction, but anything sexually taboo isn't.
it seems to be like. the fandom in-joke that everyone and their cat and their dog and their hamster hates jimmy? for... [checks notes] a thing that very plausibly might not have even happened in the game. hmm interesting
actually this gives way for me to complain about the fandom finally lmao, okay so basically i hate how the fandom flat out refuses to consider any interpretation different than their own, and expects everyone to consider the most popular interpretation "canon"? like.. i understand why this interpretation is so popular, but it isn't canon: no one in-game (or during the developer q&a!) outright says that anya was raped, and contrary to popular belief you can have unwanted pregnancies without having been raped. it is, as it stands now, just an interpretation.
also something else i dont like that comes with this interpretation is "rape victim" becoming anya's entire characterization. i believe i've said it before and i'll say it again, but i hate how fandom turns woman characters into Sexual Abuse Plot Generators™, especially when the woman in question is the only one in a cast full of men. not only does it restrict the possibility of these woman characters being literally anything else besides "rape victim" (as when people do this it tends to be the only thing they ever talk about in reference to the character, thus not really allowing for any characterization beyond just "poor little traumatized baby </3"), but it also to me reads like these people think that sexual abuse is the only problem women ever have to deal with in regards to being in spaces mostly comprised of men. which is... very incorrect. and also the knee-jerk reaction when they see a woman in a sexual situation with a man to immediately go "OMG RAPE!!!!!!" sorta reminds me of the terfy sentiment that "women can't consent and every man is a rapist". which is also Very Incorrect™
anyways tldr i dont like how the fandom only allows one interpretation ever and i also think women in fiction should be allowed to be more than The Designated Abuse Victim™

Jaster & Tor
For me, one of the most hilarious and no less furious aspects of Jaster Mereel’s treatment in the sources is how he is hailed as the great figure in Mandalorian history that brought back honor between Mandalorian Mercs and all but like, not getting any real development for over two decades. Sure, he got here and there mini encyclopedia entries and some mention in regard to Jango Fett, but never anything truly expanding his characterization beyond the general image of “good” Mandalorian created by tie-in sources - an image I find a pretty bland one compared to retconned “The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett” (in which Jaster Mereel originated from) and Jango Fett: Open Seasons comics series.
This is hilarious, because Tor Vizsla got a personal entry in Fact Files - an article biased as hell but still acknowledging both him as character and his impact on Jango & Mandalorians - and a whole section of Bounty Hunter Code for himself and Death Watch. And though I will forever stand with Jango that the Manifesto doesn’t sound much like him (but I like the idea the Manifesto is based on Tor’s notes just edited by someone to be more reader-friendly), there is like 30 pages expanding history and his person while Jaster is once again reduced to small mention here and there. And look, it is hilarious to me that Vizsla and Death Watch is the Mandalorians that Lucas wanted to keep for The Clone Wars, throwing out of window the supposedly great Jaster Mereel and True Mandalorians without any second thought but good damn, it is so frustrating we can’t get any solid material on him even though Bounty Hunter Code was the perfect opportunity to bring him back, as it would make a perfect sense for Jango to keep Jaster’s notes if not the whole Codex.
It is also frustrating because Tor and Jaster are like the two Mandalorians officially writting down important stuff and apparently both were versed in Mandalorian history & lore and I for one would love to compare their notes to get the feeling of middle-ground and see their ideas from the proper perspective not from biased sources that clearly favores Jaster - even if in JF:OS, after making research and interrogating Jango’s allies, Dooku’s only conclusion was that for Mereel Mandalorians were “merely highly-paid soldiers”. Which is hardly the same as bringing work ethic to your group (not that it does cross out the possibility of having actual moral standards, but it does not automatically mean the same). It is frustrating, because we don’t get that often Mandalorians with literary tendencies - hell, we didn’t get any other Mandalorian like that for years because almost everything is about the oral culture which makes Tor Vizsla and Jaster Mereel’s existence even more hilarious, as the two literature nerds that at some point sit down and write their own input - Tor about history and political goals for new members of Death Watch, Jaster about work ethics for True Mandalorians. And it is even more hilarious than that, because Jango Fett presumably read both works and HE DOESN’T READ BOOKS BECAUSE HE THINKS THEY ARE WASTE OF TIME:
Boba's father didn't read much. "Books? A waste of time," he said. "Read maps, Boba. Instructions. Warnings. Important stuff." [Boba Fett Book 1: The Fight to Survive by Terry Bisson]

WHICH SYMBOLIC FRUIT ARE YOU?
Tumblr media
Cherry. (Man, this is going to need some tag rambling; because while it's what I suspected and it's very fitting in many ways, I need to address one element).
Tumblr media
In popular culture, cherries have come to represent sensuality, sex, and seduction. In the cult classic, Twin Peaks, Audrey Horne expresses her sexual expertise by tying a cherry stem with her tongue. "Cherry" is also used to refer to the concept of virginity: why? I don't know to be honest, but here we are. Much like the cherry, you're a sensual person who enjoys all the creature comforts the world offers. You enjoy delicious food, dynamic relationships, passionate lovemaking and stimulating conversation; however, you may also come across a touch vapid or shallow, due to your quickly fading attention when something has served its usefulness to you. To quote some man on tinder: "you're here for a good time, not a long time". You can come across, at times, slightly tart, carrying a bit of a bite to you that not everyone can handle. That’s okay: you’re an acquired taste!
Tagged: @basbousah (Thank you 🩷) Tagging: I don't tend to tag for quizzes easily but this one was actually fun, so let's harass. @immobiliter (how about Furina?) @kushtibokt @genus83 @genius81 @spiderwarden @delusionaid (Wriothesley, or Zhongli— porque no los dos? 🤭) @apocryphis (Topaz) @aventvrina @resolutepath (Elio) @daybreakrising (Blade) @astrxlfinale @kahakera @cygnor @chasersglow @scrtilegii (Jing Yuan)... and anyone else who'd like to do it, say I tagged you because I'd love to see the results!
#[ games. ] the game only works when we follow the rules; though i'll be none the wiser if they're broken. let morality be your guide.#[ this has been open in a tab since yesterday. ]#[ okay but i actually /love/ this result. BUT LET ME SPECIFY-- to those who haven't read my other post. ]#[ please read 'sex' and 'seduction' through a very old fashioned lens. very old fashioned. ]#[ and then i think it's a lot more fitting. think film noir/1940s femme fatale /instead/ of the modern femme fatale and you got it. ]#[ seductive in the way that a woman can be inherently alluring. ]#[ sex in the way that it /is/ something she engages in. but in the way that one does without overindulging at all. no promiscuity. ]#[ i'm not saying religious-type 'it means everything'. but i'll forever live by that line by blade. ]#[ “she must have sought something extraordinary. everything she does comes at a great cost.” ]#[ the thing is-- he knows she lacks fear. so i don't see 'at a great cost' being a value tied to anything because of personal risk. ]#[ or fear of chasing after it. it also means something that it comes from blade. who likely also has an interesting tie to 'fear'. ]#[ but any way that means 'at a great cost' means investment/engagement (time. effort. sacrifice?) ]#[ which shows a deep rooted dedication to something. which speaks to me of a certain passion that needs to propel something like that. ]#[ and if we take passion into the equation-- then i think that fits for how she speaks and handles everything blade and tb-related. ]#[ then i also can see 'sex' very fitting. she would; when engaging in it; be incredibly all-encompassing but not in a 'dominatrix' way. ]#[ nor a traditional 'dominant' way. but simply incredibly present. engaged. passionate. ]#[ those two things can fit incredibly next to sensuality if you simply look at it from a specific lens that isn't casual and/or modern. ]#[ outside of that... dynamic relationships? ☑️ stimulating conversation? ☑️ which PLAYS INTO THE NEXT PART. ]#[ which is /yes/ she is bored. she gets bored. you /need/ to be able to stimulate her by having something of your own to interest her. ]#[ she also wouldn't/doesn't like people who serve her every whim. no. have your own interests. ]#[ as to elaborate on an acquired taste: she isn't everyone's cup of tea. if you don't have something that interests her-- you won't... ]#[ enjoy being around her. if she doesn't /like/ you. you won't think she's fun. in /that/ she's an acquired taste. ]#[ and has a bit of a bite. ]
