The Fist of Reason: Majima Boss Rush
Happy 5th anniversary to rggo! hard to believe it’s been this long already
look at our festival boys! anyways lets get into this because I’m very excited
summary:
sometime after the events of Y1, Kiryu gets a call that Haruka has a fever. On his way to pick her up, he bumps into someone familiar...
[One day, some time after the strife caused by the Tojo Clan's stolen 10 billion yen was settled...]
Kiryu: Hello. ...Thank you for calling.
Kiryu: ...Huh? Haruka's got a fever? ...I understand, I'll be there right away. <scene change to outside> Kiryu: .....
<he bumps into someone> Kiryu: Oh, sorry. ???: Sorry? If sorry was enough to cut it, there wouldn't be yakuza! Majima: Ain't that right? Kiryu-chaaan!
Kiryu: Majima no nii-san!? What are you doing at a place like this... Majima: What's so weird about that? If Kiryu-chan's somewhere, then Majima is too! Majima: Outside of that, the spot where ya just rammed into me hurts like hell... Majima: Shit, ya probably broke the bone... Hehe, what're ya gonna do? Kiryu: People with broken bones don't laugh about it. Sorry, but I'm in a rush right now. Majima: Why ya bein' so cold~? We ain't seen each other in ages.
Kiryu: We can talk more next time. Like I said, I'm in a rush. Majima: Too bad! No matter what ya say, ya gotta beat me if ya wanna go!! Hehehe! Kiryu: Tch...! Kiryu: Give it a damn rest already! Haruka has a fever! Majima: ! ........ Majima: What the hell... I didn't know that. Majima: I'm sorry for this. Go on, hurry up 'n' get gone.
Kiryu: .....Damn. <he runs off>
[And then, 3 months later...]
Kiryu: ...I haven't seen Majima no nii-san around here since then.
Kiryu: (I thought he was the kind of person to come back the next day for a fight, but...) Kiryu: ........... Kiryu: (Even if I was in a rush at the time, did I speak too harshly to him...?) Kiryu: (Of course I don't think a guy like him would be dejected from that... Well, it is possible...) ???: Kiryu no ojiki (tl note: ojiki is an honorific that's literally "dad's younger brother" which is used for patriarchs less senior than your own. Nishida usually uses it) Kiryu: ...Hm? Kiryu: You're that Majima Family guy...
Nishida: About that... My boss is going to be put in jail. Kiryu: What...!? Nishida: It happened yesterday... Our family is supposed to be running a festival... Nishida: In the middle of it some thugs started acting up, and they got into a fight with our family members. Nishida: So now they've issued a warrant for my boss, since he was the one in charge... Kiryu: What is Majima no nii-san going to do? Nishida: He thinks it would be futile to resist, so he's waiting at the festival site for the police to arrive. Kiryu: What? Nishida: My boss has been acting oddly for the past 3 months or so. He doesn't have any energy, and seems pretty depressed. Kiryu: 3 months... it can't be. Nishida: And so, my boss really wants to see you before he goes to jail... Kiryu: Me...? Nishida: Yes. He said he has something to tell you, so... Kiryu: ...Got it. Lead the way. Nishida: Y-Yes sir! <they leave> Majima: ......... (tl note: I'm sorry the image of him just holding that pose in that outfit while waiting for the cops to show is so funny to me)
Kiryu: ...Majima no nii-san. Majima: ...Oh, Kiryu-chan, ya showed.
Majima: Excuse my appearance. I was up on a float till now. Kiryu: ...I just spoke with Nishida. Are you really going to jail? Majima: ...Yeah. Orders from on high, can't be helped. I'll be awfully lonely during those years... Majima: That said, I won't be botherin' ya any more, Kiryu-chan. Kiryu: ...... Majima: I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused ya. ...I wanted to at least say that, before I went to jail. Kiryu: ...That's not like you. Kiryu: Are you really going to let your underlings see you leave the outside world with such a pathetic display? Majima: ...I don't really care either way. Kiryu: ........... Kiryu: ...Good grief. You acting this way is completely infuriating to me. Kiryu: It can't be helped, this is a big favor. ...I'll get you all fired up again.
Majima: Hah...? Kiryu: You know the best way I can cheer you up? ...Come at me, Majima. Majima: ...!
Majima: Is this... are you pickin' a fight with me?
Kiryu: Heh, isn't that what I just said? Majima: ........Hee, hehehe! Majima: Kiryu-chan, you're always the best! Majima: Let's get started...! Kiryu-chan!!!!
<event happens, Receive and Bite You is the theme>
Majima: Hehe... As always, Kiryu-chan... you're tough as nails...
Kiryu: Heh... You are too. (tl note: RARE KIRYU SMILING SPRITE)
Majima: Oi oi, you're sayin' somethin' nice? Kiryu: Majima no nii-san... I'm sorry. Majima: Ah? Kiryu: For what happened 3 months ago. Kiryu: I was flustered, and I snapped at you. Majima: ........As always, Kiryu-chan, you're soft as a marshmallow~. I'm astounded. Kiryu: ....? Nishida: E-Excuse me! Kiryu no ojiki!
Nishida: The truth is... My boss going to jail was a lie in order to get you to show up... Kiryu: What? Then... was him being depressed also a lie... Majima: It was aaaaall an act! Majima: I was pretendin' to be put off by how ya talked to me so ya'd feel sympathetic, then after worryin' ya for long enough-- Majima: I'd reveal it was all a ruse, 'n' you'd get pissed off enough to throw down! That was the plan! Majima: It played out a little differently than intended, but, we still had a fight so it's all good. Kiryu: .....Heh, you're such an ass. (tl note: TWO smiles!! unprecedented.)
Majima: What, you're not mad? Kiryu: I had a feeling that something like this was going on. Majima: Then why'd'ya fight me? Kiryu: ...When it's with you, I can go all out in a fight. Kiryu: ...If I really think on it, I guess I enjoy fighting with you. Just a bit. (tl note: THIRD smile!!!)
Majima: !!..... Hehehehehe!! Heeey~! I knew it!!
Majima: C'mon, let's go another round! Hearin' ya say that's gotten me all worked up again! Kiryu: ...Heh, sure. It's a festival, after all. It's a good excuse to really cut loose. Majima: Hell yes!! Let's do this... Kiryu-chaaaaaa~n!!!! Nishida: A-Ah... This won't end until the sun comes up...

You're such a dork
Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
*Warning blowjob with cum that isn't amazingly taste, especially when said man does weed and other illegal stuff*
Eddie finally graduates and is at the mall with the hellfire club and see's you across the food court. Reader has graduated from University and has come back to Hawkins for good. Running into each other you decide to catch up at his trailer...
Enjoy 😘
It's summer in Hawkins and school has finished for the year, the mall was filled with prepubescent teenagers and seniors who have recently graduated celebrating finally being out of the hell that is high school. One group was more rambunctious than most, Eddie and his hellfire crew were celebrating him finally finishing school, over burgers in the food court.
“Well done Eddie” Gareth yelled and slapped him on the back, Eddie nearly spitting out his drink. “I’m proud of myself, just needed to do the bare minimum of attendance and BAM!” He suddenly stands up holding up his drink like hero, “Nearly instant diploma” Dustin slaps his leg “Took three goes”, all of them laughed and continued talking about their summer plans with finishing school for the year.
Eddie’s eyes caught a familiar face as he bit into his burger, it was (Y/N) he hadn’t seen her since she graduated, in his first senior year. Eddie grinned like the Cheshire Cat, remembering what they used to get up to after school, starting the hellfire group together, “Boys Ill be back in a minute” he says as he stands up and jogs up to you, who’s looking confused.
————————————————————————
“Okay now Uncle Bruce told me to get-“
“(Y/N)!”
You whipped your head up and saw Eddie running towards you, panting as soon as he got to you. “Long time no see sweetheart” looking at you as you turned around, you’d changed a lot since he last saw you. Hair is (longer/shorter) and your skin looks absolutely radiant, your body filling out more and your fashion sense definitely changed.
“Eddie! It’s so good to see you” you smiled, your confusion fading as soon as you saw his face, his hair was longer but not much had changed about him, still wearing his leather jacket and his battle vest with more patches decorated all over.
“You look absolutely gorgeous (Y/N), I haven’t seen you since you left for collage” his eye’s still had the same sparkle in them since you last saw him, “It’s been a while Eds but I’m back for good now! Graduated with my bachelors, back in Hawkins for good” You scratch the back of your head smiling at Eddie, “What have you been up too?”.
“Pretty much the same, still doing hellfire, playing with my band, graduating high school…” he looked away sheepishly when the look of shock hearing the last of his sentence. “Really Eddie! It took you three years of doing senior year?!” You said gobsmacked, “Third times a charm” he looks away unable to face you directly.
“Well better late then never Eddie” You looked into his face while smiling and put your hand on his shoulder, his smiled back, your smile was always infectious. “Well since you’ve graduated we should-“
“EDDIE YOU COMING? MOVIE STARTS SOON” Mike yelled in his direction.
“YEAH EDDIE COME ON!!!” Dustin yelled with him.
“IN A SEC!” Eddie yells back, “(Y/N) I wanna keep talking but the boys are calling” he says turning his attention back to you. “Thats fine Eddie you still at the trailer park? I can stop by with Chinese food, and we can catch up like we used too~” your hinting didn’t escape him.
“Ssounds like a plan babe” Eddie tries to play it cool, but his voice fails him breaking mid sentence. (Y/N) laughs and kissed him on the cheek “See you later”.
Eddie was feeling giddy as you walked off, holding the cheek that you kissed. “Dude who was that?” Lucas said as the boys came up behind him, Eddie didn’t even realise they were there until Gareth spoke.
“That was one of the original co-founders of hellfire (Y/N), she was Eddie’s fuck buddy” Eddie cringed at his wording, “She was more than a fuck buddy” he grumbled the younger boys still trying to get their heads around that she was one of the co-founders.
“Let’s go we’re gonna miss the movie!” Dustin piped up.
——————————————————————————
You turned into the trailer park where Eddie has lived since you can remember, memories of you both walking back drunk through the forrest from parties held at Harrington’s house, or watching Eddie smoke a joint while sharing a bottle of whiskey.
Slamming the car door, making sure to grab the Chinese food that was in the front seat, barely knocking before the door is ripped open with a very excited Eddie standing behind it. He looked like he just had a shower, hair blowdried, fresh cologne, and a totally different outfit to the one he was wearing earlier at the mall.
“Hope your hungry, I picked up Chinese food” you held up the plastic bag as you walked past, placing the bag on the coffee table in front of the TV. “Absolutely starving sweetheart” he said while he plopped himself on the couch, you both got out the food and started eating.
Both chatting, Eddie just shoving food into his mouth, speaking with his mouth full the entire time. You smiled remembering that he still ate the same as he did when you both were still in high school, both geeking over DnD and discussing who was the better band, Kiss or Metallica.
“So Eddie you seeing anyone?” You said, facing him as you both finish eating. “No haven’t really dated anyone seriously, most of the girls in Hawkins can’t handle all of this” His hands went up and down his body as he spoke.
“True, the girls here have basically no taste” you shuffled closer to Eddie on the couch with your hand slowly going up and down on his thigh, “A-are you seeing anyone?” He managed to get out, not expecting things to turn this fast.
“No, the boys at collage don’t match up to the man I’ve had waiting for me back in Hawkins” you purred into his ear, “I’ve missed you Eddie” your hand hovered over his growing bulge.
“Let me make it up to you~” licking the shell of his ear, shuddering as your hand squeezed his cock through his jeans. “Yesss babe, you’ve got a lot of time to make up for” him saying that you unzip his pants, shoving them down to his ankles, moving from the couch to kneel between his knees.
“Well then, I better get to work” You give his dick a few pumps, licking from the base of his cock to the tip, making sure it was wet enough to slide into your mouth.
“Fuck baby” Eddie cries out as your mouth swallows his dick, you hollow out out mouth to suck even harder as you reach the base of his cock, holding it there, deep throating him, making sure to worshipping his 6 inch cock. His mind goes blank with pleasure as you continue to suck his cock, twirling your tongue around his shaft.
“Shit sweetheart just like that” he whines out as you pick up the pace, your neck starting to strain since it’d had been awhile since you’d given head. “Y-you know just how I like it-t, deep and fast” he babbled, “You’re such a dirty wench, like an npc bar maid” you couldn’t help but think while sucking his cock ‘He’s such a dork’.
Your hand goes down to cup his balls, knowing that would bring him over the edge, “Shit baby I’m gonna cum” his hand gripped your hair, now being able to feel your head bobbing up and down on his cock. You pull on his balls he screeches “FUCCKKK (Y/N) BAABBYYYYYY” he grips your head tighter, keeping your head there as his cum fills your mouth.
Unable to move your head, Eddie’s cum bursts into your mouth, the horrible tasting thick cum forcing its way down your throat, choking on the foulness of his cum you pull off and rush to the bathroom, gagging the whole way just making it in time to the toilet to hurl up the Chinese food you just ate.
Eddie was in such bliss he didn’t realise you’d run off straight away, when he came down from cloud nine he heard you gagging in the bathroom. Realising what was happening he rushed to stand up, forgetting his pants were still around his ankles he fell flat on his face.
“Fuck” He groaned out rolling on his back while rubbing his nose, scrambling to his feet, kicking his pants and boxes off in the process. Stumbling his way he slammed into the door frame of the bathroom, looking down at you, wiping your mouth with toilet paper.
“Eddie your cum tastes foul, it never was that bad!” You looked at him as you stood, “Sorry (Y/N) I had no idea it was that horrible, are you okay?” He walked to the cupboard and handed you mouthwash, you thanked him and gargled till you got the taste out of your mouth.
“I’ll survive” you chuckled, “I don’t even know why it tastes that bad” Eddie walked you over to the couch where you both sat down. “It’s cause you do drugs Eddie, it makes your cum taste horrible, it was tolerable when we were in our seniors since it was just weed” you laughed cuddling into him.
“Shit I didn’t know that, it’s in the brain bank now, saved for future endeavours” He slid his arm around you, pulling your body even closer. “Especially since you’re here for good now” His hand lifted your chin, his lips inches from yours, you moving the last few inches until your lips met in a sweet kiss.
“Now baby let’s get back to watching that movie” He grabbed the remote and pressed play as you both snuggled in closer, starting off where you guys left off when you left for collage.
“Eddie?”
“Yes babe?”
“You’re suck a dork”

Fuck The Rules- Mindy Meeks-Martin
Word Count: 1.2K
Synopsis: It's your last night alive and you only have one mission: fuck Mindy Meeks-Martin.
Consists of: Gender neutral AFAB reader, mentions of death, mentions of murder, brief mention of knives, brief mention of guns, brief mention of drugs and alcohol, reader is so sickeningly in love with Mindy, a little asphyxiation, reader and Mindy make out
Here it is, the long awaited end of the world, or the end of Woodsboro at least. And what's the best way to say goodbye? A giant house party apparently. It's supposedly "For Wes" but I've never seen half these people in the same room as him when he was alive, and we only toasted to him once before people went back to their typical house party nonsense: hooking up, smoking, and smashing shit.
But I'm here too so you'd think that says something about me too, makes me hypocritical for critiquing my peers. But I'm here for one reason, and one reason only. And that reason happens to have curly black hair, a highly eccentric personality, and the most animated reactions ever known to man, Mindy Meeks-Martin.
Now I've never actually talked to Mindy, but there's something about the feeling of the end that pushes you to take chances. Even before the killings, I knew now was the time to get bold, it is senior year after all. Now that my high school career as well as my literal life may be ending, it truly is now or never.
Mindy is sitting in the living room, loudly commentating on the scene in Stab where Randy explains "The Rules." She's so immersed in it, probably a combination of her love for movies and her admiration for her uncle, but maybe because a part of her thinks these rules could truly come in clutch now. Maybe she's prepping for survival. I come over and sit next to her in the most casual way I can. Not too close, but not far away enough for someone else to squeeze in between us, I'd gotten tripped up too many times before, I had to have a fool proof plan this time.
But to my surprise, Mindy speaks to me, "You ready to die tonight?" she asks with a smile completely inappropriate for the question. If it was anyone else, I might even be weirded out. But it was Mindy, and she asked me a question.
"Oh yeah, I have a special request for the killer of how I wanna die," I smile back at her, copying her way of sitting, leaning back against the couch.
"Well do tell!"
"Well, I don't just wanna be stabbed, or shot, or any of that other boring shit. I want something interesting-"
"Like Tatum in the garage door?" she cuts me off.
"Exactly! Just like that. But not exactly that, still something new. If I have to get killed here like tens of people before, I'd definitely like to have something that sets my murder apart from the others."
"Oh so you're one of those people that try to be different," she rolls her eyes playfully, "attention seeker."
"And you're not? Sitting here at the center of the party yelling at the TV. If anything it seems like you're the attention seeker."
"I don't need to seek attention, people look at me anyways. You especially," Mindy scoots closer to me now, resting her head on her arm propped up on the back of the couch. She looks at me intensely.
"I-I don't-" I start, feeling myself getting ready to back out. But then I remember, last chance. I'm never gonna have Mindy Meeks-Martin this close to me ever again, hell we both might be dead by tomorrow. Now or never, "It's hard not to, a pretty girl like you."
"You think I'm pretty?" she bats her eyelashes rapidly and plays with her hair. She knows this. When you look like she does you have to know.
"You're gorgeous," I continue.
She comes even closer, her face inches away from mine, "You are too. I didn't know if you'd ever grow the balls to come talk to me. It made me kinda sad, honestly. I could've fucked you years ago."
"W-what?" and there goes my composure.
"I could've fucked you years ago," she says slower, really wanting me to understand, "But now I can't. So sad," she pouts, shaking her head.
"Why not?"
"Rule number one, darling, "Never have sex" especially not in this spooky ass house, you know this is where the original act three went down."
I, in fact, did not know that. But having knowledge of it now, doesn't make my pussy throb any less for her. If anything it makes everything feel more necessary, more urgent. I urgently needed to see Mindy Meeks-Martin naked.
"Those rules aren't always true though. Sidney had sex. In this "spooky ass house" no less, and she's still standing."
"Yes because Sidney Prescott is a freak of nature, the most special of cases. We're not Sid."
"Speak for yourself."
She lets out a breathy laugh, "If you have sex you could die. You want me so bad that you'd risk it?"
"What if I did?" I challenge her, making the gap between our faces smaller and smaller.
"I'm not gonna let you get me caught up," she puts both her hands up in defense, "You really think you can fight the rules?"
"I think you'd really like to see me try," I lean all the way in, pressing my lips against Mindy's gently, fighting every urge in my body to stick my tongue in her mouth right away. But once again, Mindy beats me to it, her tongue already exploring every corner of my mouth. She grabs my face with both hands, and brings the rest of her body closer, she's almost straddling me. Mindy kisses like she's hungry. As if she's been starving and I'm her first meal in weeks. My body feels hot all over, my skin is burning, every hair on my body is standing straight up. I feel like I'm not even in my own body right now, like I've floated away to what I can only assume to be heaven because Mindy is kissing me right now, and it's better than every dream I've ever had.
I'm not really sure what to do with my hands. I want to touch her of course, but I'm not entirely sure where the best place would be right now. The waist is a given, but Mindy doesn't seem like the kind of girl that'd like that. It'd be awkward to hold her face because she's already holding mine. My thoughts are immediately swiped away as she grabs my hand and places it in her hair. I run my hands through her hair, pulling her deeper and deeper into me. We haven't stopped to breathe once, but I kinda like the dizzy feeling it gives me. I think I have a new request, death by suffocation. I can think of no better way to have my last breath than directly into Mindy Meeks-Martin's mouth.
"God, get a room Mindy!" Mindy and I pull away from each other as a loud male voice shouts in our direction. Mindy's brother Chad, plops down on the couch next to me and chirps a quick "Hi." I awkwardly wave back.
"Must you ruin EVERYTHING??" Mindy shouts at him, reaching behind me to push his head back.
"Ow!"
"You wanna go upstairs?" Mindy looks to me and grabs my hand. I almost faint right then and there. She just had her tongue shoved down my throat but hand holding is when I lose it.
"What about the rules?" I ask her. I'm teasing again, but in the back of my head I'm also saying this to create an escape route for either of us, for me mostly.
"Fuck the rules," she pulls both of us up and after I nod to her she leads me away. Her and Chad flip each other off as we climb up the stairs.

How nice…but sure what’s up?” “Do you know anyone named Eddie Munson?” “Munson? Yeah I know him…well Dustin knows him more than me they are in a club together…or they were at least I’m not sure if it’s still a thing since Dustin is graduating this year.” “Did he go to school with us?” “Eddie? Chapter 22: Hot boxes & final touches
Your room in a smoky haze as your dream boat Annie record plays in the background you & robin in deep conversation about what you think your lives will look like 10 years from now. You honestly don’t know but told her as long as her 2 best friends and love are still with her then that’s all she truly cares about. Being in that sentimental moment robin had a shocked but questionable look on her face it was starting to worry you as she ran to grab her overnight bag digging around like a mad woman mumbling to herself “where the hell is it… stupid… bullshit… AH HA! Carefully pulling out the pretty lilac tissue paper you see two items dumping the bag into your hand there’s two rings inside both the same a silver band with a moonstone she picked them up “friendship bracelets & necklaces are so 2nd grade & I know you’re like me & like stones so I figured friendship rings now that’s bad ass” you giggle “robs they’re beautiful I love it & we can wear them tonight show everyone how cool we are” you shoot her a wink when you hear the sound of the doorbell Robin goes to answer the door “ITS DINGUS & HE ACTUALLY DOESNT LOOK HALF BAD!!!” Your stoned so you’re fully belly laughing “HEY I CAN HEAR YOU HEY WHATS THAT SMEL.. OHH HOLDIN OUT JAMIE I SEE” you hear footsteps they both enter your room Steve wearing a dark grey suit white dress shirt emerald vest and tie “wow lookin sharp Harrington” he takes you in wide eyed “hey dingus you’re drooling” you laugh “wow… Jamie you… you look terrific Munson is a lucky guy” Steve looks down at his feet “aw thanks Stevie” your blushing “uh munson said he’d be here with transportation I told him if it was his death trap then I’m calling us all a cab you ladies aren’t riding in that hell wagon tonight” you pull out a second joint noticing steve could use it as nervy as you both are right now. “Ohhh hell yeah it’s been a minute” he swipes it lighting it for everyone you three sit on the floor smoking letting Robin go through music to play “oh I have a gift for you.. well you & Eddie” you go to your closet “ohhh I like presents” robins laughs slapping his arm shaking her head “just a little something to celebrate with beings Eddie and Robin are seniors their last hurrah” you hand him the gift bag “oh shit the good stuff too thanks jame you really are a doll” he smiles at you. You all get interrupted by the bell again robin makes you wait so you can make an entrance properly “okay jame come out now” you walk into the living room & he’s so beautiful black suit dress shoes maroon vest and tie and a giant gift bag in his hand and the other behind his back. Meanwhile you don’t know Eddie’s heart has stopped times stood still as he drinks you in never has he seen such beauty “wow princess you.. look heavenly i mean it & you changed your hair too I love it you’re so gorgeous” your cheeks are on fire & clenching your thighs because this man his making you feel 100 different things at once “you look so handsome Ed” he steps forward handing you a bouquet of red roses Robin quickly tends to those for you opening the bag he pulls out your corsage a red and white rose with black ribbons and babies breath he slips it on your wrist he pulls out his boutonnière & has Steve & robins off to the side so they can exchange theirs on their time you pin it to his collar as Steve takes photos of you both interacting you do the same for Robin and Steve & then set the camera timer to take one all together smiling ear to ear 86 was definitely going to be everyone’s year.

ECU High - Danny's Ambition
The alarm clock rings and Danny groans as he gets out of bed.
"Just how *expletive* is this day gonna be?"
There's a knock on his door as he hears his sister Mimi.
"Danny, are you decent?"
He sighs. "Yeah Mimi, Ah'm decent. What's up?"
She comes into his room.
"Daddy says he has to take the car today. Are you gonna be alright to walk to school?"
Danny rubs his eyes.
"Walkin to school's all I do anyway. No reason to waste gas over a mile. Ah'm tellin ya Mimi, if I gotta redo senior again I might as well drop out."
She tries to smile. "Don't drop out Danny. Daddy's still trying to get a pharmacy job. That's why he's taking the car. Mr. Primont called him in for an interview. If he gets the job you can quit and focus on graduating."
He stands up and stretches.
"That'll be the day, sis. Ah really hate havin ta ask the juniors for money. It's embarrassin."
The mood is somber and Danny looks lost.
"Ah just wanna wake up one morning and not gotta worry bout money. I don't wanna have to rely on other people."
She goes over to hug Danny. "I know you feel that way, Danny. You just need to take it one day at a time. Now eat up. I got breakfast waitin for you."
He sighs.
"Alright. Gotta change first. Be right down."
Mimi smiles and leaves the room. After changing, Danny goes down to eat breakfast as fast as he can.
"Ah'll see ya later, Mimi."
He grabs his backpack and starts running to school. As he makes it to the school's parking lot, a rusty old pickup truck pulls in. The engine has a strange sound to it.
"Howdy, feller."
Danny looks up.
"Oh hey, Jodie. Hell's up with yer engine?"
Jodie shuts it off and gets out. "Ah dang carburetor's done actin up. Gotta find somethin worth replacin it. Ol gal's goin on 50 so's Ah gotta keep 'er runnin."
Danny looks at the truck. "Ya going to the junkyard with Mike?"
Jodie grabs his books.
"Yeah Mike's ride done lost 'er fender. We's goin ta mah job fer parts."
He stops at the stairs. "Danneh ya got wood shop 1st period?"
Danny looks at his schedule. "Let's see. Nah I got wood shop 2nd period. What classes do ya need to pass this year to graduate?"
Jodie laughs a little and looks down.
"Math, science and readin. Mr. Wade tol me Ah gotta do good ta stay on the wrasslin team. Says he'll kick mah ass if Ah done keep failin and gotta repeat a year."
Danny sighs. "Dunno how you plan on doin that man. We're all idiots ta be able to tutor anyone."
The first bell rings.
"Ah'll be seein ya feller faster than Ah done load a shotgun." Jodie says as he heads inside.
Danny heads to the gym but almost gets hit by a car.
"Dammit Mike ya almost hit Danny."
Mike smiles as he parks.
"Ah yer just worried bout your insurance rates Mikey. "
Mikey (short for Mike Windgren) glares.
"No *expletive* I'm worried Mike! I don't want my Saturn to kill someone!"
"Well Ah didn't so don't get yer panties in a twist. Now let's go before we're late."
Mikey groans.
"Sorry ta almost hit you Danny."
Danny keeps going to the gym.
"Hey Guy are you lookin for someone?"
A boy on the football field turns to look at Danny.
"Yeah that *expletive* Mike skipped band practice today! How're we supposed to set a good example to the freshmen if we ain't all here?!"
Danny sighs. "Well go yell at 'em when ya see 'em Guy. He'll probably show up when he feels like it."
"Yeah well he better! Ah'm not bout to have our drummers be outta formation because that *expletive* decided not ta practice!"
Danny shakes his head and makes it to the gym.
A whirring sound is heard as a small helicopter lands. A young man steps out with a girl on his arm.
"And that's how ya land!"
She looks amazed.
"Oh wow, Rick that's so amazing. How many more hours do you need to be able to teach me for real?"
He gives her a cocky grin.
"Only 20. Maybe if yer willin to wait a couple months I can teach ya."
Her eyes widen.
"Wow I'd like that! I'll see you around then, Rick."
He gives a thumbs up. "You know it baby."
Danny rolls his eyes.
"How many demonstrations is that now, Rick?"
He laughs. "Oh Danny. Don't ya get that it's good for my social life? I get to put my hours in while getting some babes. I see that as an absolute win."
Danny starts walking again. "Whatever Rick."
He makes his way to the gym when he sees his friend.
"Oh hey Ross!"
Ross turns around.
"Danny good ta see you! Still tryna make ends meet. How 'bout you?" he asks smiling.
Danny looks down. "Same boat. Pa's gonna have an interview today so fingers crossed."
Ross rubs his eyes. "Least there's a light at the end of the tunnel for ya. I gotta find a better job that'll pay more. Buc-ee's just ain't enough to pay the bills."
"I hear ya, Ross. Being a busboy at 2 nightclubs ain't a good paycheck either."
A whistle is blown. "Awright ya *expletive* line up!"
Everyone lines up when they hear Mr. Wade's voice. No one messes with him.
As Mr. Wade makes his opening year speech about gym class Danny's mind starts to wander.
"All Ah want is ta make it through the year. If Ah can jus make 'nough money, Ah can buy back our house. Pa ain't ever gonna be embarrassed ever 'gain."

Davey: wh- Do you have experience with that??
Sarah: ...
Sarah: Listen-

Crutchie: So it's basically icy hot but for horses-
Davey: You should absolutely not be using anything meant for horses
Crutchie: But like it's stronger-
Davey: Which is why you shouldn't use it
Crutchie: But it works better because its stronger
Davey: ... No
Albert: *big wheeze of despair*

Race: I dunno- cholera flower? (Cauliflower)
Albert: STOPP THAT'S SO GROSS BUT SO FUNNY I'M GONNA THROW UP
Katherine: You're thinking way too futuristic. We didn't have that kind of understanding of the infectious agent during this outbreak, it was in the early 1800s. You have to think like we're in the early 1800s-
Jack: *joking* Then you shouldn't be talking
Katherine: :0

The One That Got Away - Part eight
Negan Masterlist
Series Masterlist
Part 7
Warning: swearing, mention of gun violence
Present Day
With a heavy sigh, Negan rested his head against the steering wheel, today was going to be one hell of a shit show. It was career day, which meant that the school would be running amuck with fancy-pansy assholes, discussing their choices of careers with the senior kids and how better they were than other people.
Truthfully, Negan couldn't give a shit about them, the only problem he had with today was that all this would be done during his classes. Ah, the fuckin' joys of being a gym teacher... meaning, he'd be the one stuck the entire day having to hear them lecturing the kids of how 'good of a choice' it would be going into their field of work.
Lifting his head up, Negan gives himself a pep talk in the rear-view mirror. "Suck it up... later this evening you can reward yourself with a few drinks."
Dragging his feet as he walked into the admin block, Negan is suddenly stopped dead in his tracks by the fine piece of ass dressed in police uniform that was leaning over the secretary's desk, having what seemed to be one heck of an animated conversation.
Damn... it should be a crime when the po-po be looking that fine these days...
Always the smooth ladies' man, loudly clearing his throat, Negan walks up behind the woman.
"Excuse me Officer, might ya be here for me?"
The woman pauses mid conversation, slowly turning around then and Negan is struck speechless when realizing who was actually standing before him.
"Y/N...?" Negan stares at her dumbfounded.
The last time he had seen her was ten years ago, at her parent's funeral. She had been pretty banged up; wheelchair bound after having finally woken up out of a coma a few days after the accident.
That would be the first time since the accident, as well as the very last that Negan ever saw her again. A few days after that, Y/N had moved to go and live with family, and he never heard of her again.
"Hey Coach..." you flash him a broad smile, "been a while, hasn't it?"
"No shit... it's been ten years" Negan stares at you like he's seen a ghost.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for career day" you wave a hand up and down indicating your uniform.
"So... you're a cop now? Negan stumbles a bit with his words at being in your presence again after so many years.
You stare at him deadpan. "No, this is my Halloween costume..."
"Still the same smartass, I see..." Negan chuckles at your remark.
"Only difference is that ya can't punish me for it anymore..." you smirk at him in response.
Oh, I could think of the perfect punishment... Negan groans internally, biting into his lower lip as he silently scanned Y/N up and down.
"You gonna ask me more questions or just stand there staring at me?" you sass him, hands on your hips as you smirked.
"Uh... yeah" Negan shakes himself back to reality. "How long have you been back?"
"It's been a few months now, but I finally got my bearings after having transferred here."
"Looks and sounds like life's been treating you well then" Negan remarks, placing his hands in his pockets, while he rocked back and forth on balls of his feet.
"Life's been good" you smile at him.
Negan couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment that your life had gone on perfectly without him.
Before the conversation could continue further the bell signalling the start of first period goes off.
"I better get going before those little shitheads end up destroying my gym" Negan remarks and you nod at him. "Wait... what time slot are you scheduled for?"
"I believe right now...?" you turn to the secretary, Mrs Davids for confirmation and she nods at you.
"Shit, why didn't you fuckin' say so from the start. We can catch up a bit while we walk to class."
"So, a cop huh?" Negan remarks as the two of you made your way to the gym. "What made you decide to go into that field of work?"
"My mom's younger brother, Uncle Rick, the one I went to live with after the accident is one" you reply, silently smiling at all of the students that were softly whispering amongst themselves while staring at you walking along side Negan.
"The two of us became really close during that time, I guess he just rubbed off on me" you shrug jokingly.
"It actually suits you..." Negan scans you from the corner of his eye, "you really pull off the uniform well."
"Why, is that an actual compliment coming from your mouth, Coach?" you fake a pretend blush, and he chuckles at you.
"You can take it any which way ya like... and enough with that Coach crap. I haven't been your teacher in over ten years now, so call me, Negan."
Negan silently stood in awe as Y/N spoke to the kids, he couldn't help the smile crossing his lips with how passionate she became when speaking about her job.
God, how he wished more than anything to be the recipient of that passion once more. Even till this day, Negan still thought of the last time they had been together. That day had played in his mind on repeat each time he thought of her and think of her each day he did.
He wondered if she ever thought of him.
Negan could still smell her scent whenever he closed his eyes, could still feel the way she felt wrapped around his cock.
"Have you ever shot someone?" Negan was brought out of his thoughts by one of the student's questions.
"Yes, I have" you respond with a nod.
"Have you ever been shot yourself?"
With a faint smirk, you nod yet again, and Negan couldn't help the lump that had formed in his throat upon finding out that you had yet another brush with death.
"Can we see it?"
"Well, I'm not sure if Coach would allow it..." you state turning to look at him then.
"If it's in an appropriate place, and Officer Y/L/N is comfortable with it..." Negan shrugs.
Nodding at him, you untuck your shirt and then proceed to unbutton it from the top, whistling echoes through the gym then from some of the boys.
"Fuckin' shut up or I'll shut this shit down!" Negan warns them with a growl, and you couldn't help but chuckle at it.
The room goes quiet then as you revealed the black tank top underneath your uniform, Negan's mouth instantly went dry at the sight of your bare shoulder once you had lowered the right strap of the top to reveal the scar of your gunshot wound.
"It doesn't seem that bad..." one of the students scoffs in response to seeing the small scar tissue.
"If you believe that, then you should see the entry wound on the back..." you snicker in response, causing Negan to frown.
"Can we see it?!" someone calls out.
"Nope..."
The room fills with sounds of disappointed sighs, and you couldn't help but giggle.
"It can't be seen anymore..." you explain to them, "the only way you'll know it's there, is by touch, because it's covered..." you then turn around to show them the tattoo that was covering the old scar.
"Is that a baseball bat?! Covered in barbed wire?!" one of the male students yells out.
"Yup..." you turn back around with a smirk as you redressed.
"Why?" one of the girls then ask in confusion.
"Are you telling me that Coach has never bragged about his best softball player in all of history...?" you turn to look at him in disbelieve.
"Oh yeah..." a student replies, "Coach speaks about her damn near every chance he gets..."
You couldn't help but flash a toothy grin at the kid's remark.
"No, way...! You're her?!"
You smirked, nodding your head in response, while Negan snickered at the class that was softly chatting about you amongst themselves.
"Ok, so we get the baseball. But what's up with the barbed wire?"
"Because a barbed wired bat looks badass..." you smirked, "and that's what I am. Just ask Coach..."
Biting into his lower lip with a faint smirk, Negan nods at your remark.
"So, why didn't you go pro if you were so good?"
"Ah... so Coach never told you guys the entire story then" you stare at Negan teasingly in fake disapproval.
"I shattered my knee after a nasty fall during a game, ended up with artificial knee and my dream being flushed on the toilet."
The bell signalling the end of first period then goes off before any more questions could be asked.
"And I believe that's my queue to leave..." you remark, and the entire class lets out loud sounds of protests.
"I don't know why y'all are so disappointed, I spent most of the time talking about myself instead of convincing ya to become a cop..." you chuckle out.
"Well, you're a badass..." one of the girls comments, "I'd say that was convincing enough."
"That... and you're hot too" a boy in the front row remarks.
"Hey! Watch it..." Negan narrows a gaze at him in warning, causing you and the rest of the class to snicker at it.
"Thank you, Officer Y/L/ N, for your time" Negan turns to you, and the entire class joins in. You wave at them as Negan, and you make your way to the door.
Negan, to your surprise, instead of just seeing you off at the door, steps out into the hallway with you.
"It was nice seeing you again after this time..." Negan sheepishly stares at you, hands stuffed into his pants pockets.
"Ditto..." you smile faintly.
"You plan on sticking around more a bit?" Negan looks at you in hope. "We could catch up during lunch break..."
"As much as I'd love to... I unfortunately can't. I'm on duty, so I have to get back to work."
"That's a bummer" Negan's shoulders drop in disappointment. "Maybe we can go out for some drinks one evening then?" he stares at you almost pleadingly.
"Maybe" you respond with a forced smile.
"Then it's settled..." Negan states with a huge smile, grabbing you into a hug unexpectedly.
You were caught off guard for a second by the hug but eventually relax into it.
Finally, Negan lets you go, and you found yourself feeling quite awkward at the entire exchange.
Clearing your throat, you finally make eye contact with him as you begin taking steps backwards and away from him. "Sure Coach... see you around..."
"Great" Negan remarks with a goofy smile on his face as he watched you turn to make your leave.
"And I told you to call me, Negan!" he calls out to your retreating back.
Once you were no longer in eyesight, Negan comes back to his senses. "Shit. I forgot to ask for her phone number...."

uni_dayz episode eleven part four
(Theo’s POV)
Why the fuck did I do that last night……
What the fuck was I thinking….
I clearly wasn’t. We shouldn’t have done that. I was so hell bent about getting over Dakota, and now I’ve made it worse.
Yeah, I need to see her. I need to talk to her ASAP. I can’t be doing reckless shit like this….
Back in Britechester
I feel so bad for last night. I’m sure Noah was finally excited, and I ruined it with my emotions. I wanted to talk to him and apologize again. He’s actually coming in the door now.
Dakota: Hi babe.
Noah: Hey Koda.
Dakota: How was the event?
Noah: It was good. There was a big turnout.
Dakota: I’m glad.
Dakota: I wanted to talk about last night.
Noah: It’s okay, you don’t have to.
Dakota: No, I need to.
Dakota: I knew I wasn’t ready just yet. I was trying to rush it because-
Noah: Because of Theo.
Dakota: Yes… and no. I had been putting it off because of him, but I think what scared me was that once we do this, we won’t be the same kind of friends after.
Dakota: But I’m good now. I got myself to a good place and I’ll be ready next time. I promise.
Noah: Dakota, I don’t think there will be a next time.
Dakota: Wait why? Because of last night? Noah I’m really sorry about that. I want to fix it.
Noah: No, Koda. It’s not because of last night. You know I wouldn’t make you do anything you didn’t want to.
Noah: I know you aren’t 100% into this relationship.
Dakota: Noah…
Noah: I know you’re trying really hard, but this is not where you want to be.
Dakota: Noah, I’m happy here with you.
Noah: Your heart may be here, but it’s not where it belongs.
I immediately burst into tears because he’s right. I don’t think I would have ever been completely happy. I love Noah. He really is my best friend, but I can’t do this to him.
Dakota: I must be pretty pathetic. My own best friend broke up with me.
Noah: I still love you, Koda. I’ll always love you.
Dakota: I don’t deserve you.
Noah: Neither you nor Laura do, but I wouldn’t trade y’all for the world.
Dakota: I’m not supposed to laugh, I just got dumped.
Noah: Think of it as firmly tossed.
Dakota: Shut up.
Dakota: Thank you.
Noah: Always.
Later that night, I went over to my dad’s house after going to dinner with Noah. He wanted to make it clear that things won’t be awkward with us and that we can go on as we have before. He really is a good friend. The girl who ends up with him will be very lucky.
I got to my dad’s, and I wanted to break the news to him… again.
Dakota: Hey dad.
Ellis: Dakota, why are you here so late?
Dakota: Noah and I broke up.
Ellis: Dakota, I’m sorry.
Dakota: Its okay. It was more of a mutual decision.
.....................
Dakota: Dad, why can’t I get over Theo….
Ellis: Because you love him, honey.
Dakota: I don’t understand how I still love someone who just left me.
Ellis: You know I asked myself the same question….
Wait, is he talking about my mom?
Dakota: Dad, I don’t know what to do.
Ellis: Have you tried talking to Theo?
Dakota: I wouldn’t even know what to say to him.
Ellis: Say what you need to say.
Dakota: Ugh.
Ellis: I don’t need you in a rut for months again.
Ellis: Hold on…
My dad goes into his bedroom and grabs something.
Ellis: I was saving this as a gift for your senior year, but it's okay if you open it now…
My dad hands me an envelope. I open it and pull out a brochure of a vacation rental in Tomarang.
Dakota: You got me a brochure?
Ellis: Yes. You’ll need it while you and your friends are in Tomarang.
Dakota: WHAT??????????
Dakota: YOU GOT ME A TRIP TO TOMARANG?!!
Ellis: I knew that would cheer you up.
Dakota: DAD ARE YOU SERIOUS?
Ellis: I hope you guys have a good time.
Dakota: This is the best gift ever! I love you dad!!!
Ellis: I love you too Dakota.
I cannot believe my dad is sending me and my friends to Tomarang!! I know that had to be pretty expensive. I can’t wait to tell the others. This trip should be good for me. I can finally have some piece of mind.

Chapter 112
“While you were making a fool of yourself in that training circle, trying to impress the general, I was watching and learning how this gift of yours works.”
How the hell could Izzy “learn how Grace’s gift works” when this is literally the third time that Grace has EVER done this?
Editor? Anybody seen an editor?
“I wondered if you’d figure it out,” Isadora sneers. “It definitely took you long enough.”
Chapter 112 summary: When Izzy comes into the dungeon, Grace ambushes her. However, they end up back in one of Grace’s memories, the day that her parents died. Izzy taunts her with the knowledge that she knows more than Grace… despite the fact that Izzy has literally only ever seen Grace doing this once before. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
Chapter 113
I’d originally assumed they didn’t know about my gargoyle, but clearly they did. What if that’s why they were fighting the day they wrecked?
Did Grace completely miss the part where her parents went to the bloodletter and asked her for help in bringing back the gargoyles? The part where the bloodletter literally looked Grace in the eye and told her “Your mother was my many-times great-granddaughter. All I did was to unlock the curse I’d put on my line.”
“And I’m going to keep doing it until you do the one thing that will make it stop.”
Chapter 113 summary: Izzy taunts Grace with the knowledge that she can control the memory, not Grace.
So we sit and watch as Grace’s parents have an argument. But not simply any argument, but the knowledge that they not only know what Grace is, but were trying to tell her (in their own way) what she was. Apparently, Rowena had been giving them some power-suppressing tea. Which Grace thinks Rowena got from the crone. But since Rowena “disappeared”, their tea was running out. They were going to send her to Alaska. But telling a junior that she’s going to have to spend her senior year at a boarding school in Alaska is the wrong approach.
The memory shifts to Grace standing in the morgue. She watches as her past self identifies the body of her mother. Then her dead parents sit up on the exam tables and go “You did this to us. You did this!” Even knowing that Lia murdered them.
Chapter 114
It wasn’t fair of me not to hear them out about Katmere, but it wasn’t fair of them not to tell me about anything else— including the fact that they begged the Bloodletter to help create me and then ended up hiding me from everyone, including myself, my entire life.
Literally no mention whatsoever about how Lia looked Grace in the eye and told her “I murdered your parents.”
And if it hasn’t, well, I’ll find a way to deal with the very pissed-off Izzy there, in the real world where I’m certain I can get the hell out of her way. So I unfreeze us.
Chapter 114 summary: Izzy basically traps Grace in a hell-loop, where she’s forced to relive the last day of her parent's lives over and over and… Izzy tells Grace that it’s time to get over it.
But the worst part is that Grace actually does. She pulls herself together, realises that she’s not actually at fault for their deaths, and she’s like “Okay. I mean, yeah. Them dying really fucking sucks. But they loved me. And I still love them.”
She then figures that enough time has passed, so she unfreezes them.
Chapter 115
Still, I’m on borrowed time and I don’t have any to waste. Which is why I take a deep breath, knock, and then pray for the best…or at least, not the worst.
Chapter 115 summary: When Grace unfreezes time, Izzy starts throwing punches. Hudson, Remy, Calder, and Eden. Finally, Grace grabs Izzy and goes flying up in the air with her really high. She knows that she doesn’t have a lot of time, so she tells Izzy to give her five minutes.

Word Count: 744
(Slight NSFW implications/references)
————————————————————————
Ava lies with her head on Lilly's stomach, looking up at her with a dopey smile on her face.
They're both high for the first time in years.
Neither of them know what sparked the idea of getting high this afternoon, but they're too far gone to try and remember it.
The last time they'd gotten high was during their senior year of high school.
Now, they're both in their own house together, working through the end of college.
College kids do stupid things, like drink and do any number of rebellious shenanigans.
Ava and Lilly are no different.
Though, getting high in their own little house is more their speed than a raging party with drinking games and rowdy sorority girls and fraternity boys.
They've never been the rebellious types, this is the most rebellious thing either of them will probably ever do.
Lilly rests her hand on Ava's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"What're you smiling about?" She asks, smiling herself.
"I'm smiling, 'cause I feel great! This was a great idea." Ava replies, "We should do this every Friday!"
Lilly laughs faintly,
"I feel great, too."
She glances down at Ava and she feels really, really great, with being close to her like this and all.
She's great and happy with her girlfriend, her heart feels light and giddy.
Ava, with the sudden spark of an idea, looks back at Lilly, sitting up and scooting towards her.
"Hi." She says, in her slightly new position.
Lilly, delirious, can't help but laugh in response,
"Hi."
Ava's eyes go all over her, taking in the simplistically beautiful sight of Lilly in one of her t-shirts.
The shirt is one of Ava's favorites, one of her favorites to let Lilly borrow.
A navy blue, "College Of Winterhold" shirt.
It's a dumb joke that the two of them think is funny, especially now that they're actually in college.
Though, their own college has a distinct lack of magic and field trips to ancient ruins.
It lazily hangs off of Lilly's shoulder, stretched out from years of wear, showing the freckles that have been clustering since their days in the sun over summer break a few months ago.
Ava wants to set a day aside to unveil every freckle and kiss it.
A day when they're older, though.
Even older than they are now.
The idea of intimacy, raw and blunt and vulnerable intimacy, is something they've vaguely talked about, but have never done.
A time will come, but that time isn't anytime right now.
And that's okay.
For now, right now, Ava goes with what is right in front of her, leaning forward to reach Lilly's shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Lilly asks her curiously.
Ava kisses her shoulder.
"This." She answers bluntly into her skin, "Is it okay?"
"Mhm."
Ava kisses her, again and again, and Lilly soaks it in.
She loves this.
God, she loves this so much.
It's the sweetest thing ever, Ava is the sweetest person ever.
The sweetest person ever, who's left hand snakes around Lilly's waist to pull them closer together, holding it on her thigh.
Her right hand goes up, resting over Lilly's heart to feel it thump, thump, thump slowly underneath her palm.
"Hey, I love you. You know that, right?" Lilly sighs, putting her left hand over Ava's right.
Ava leans back a little bit, going a little upwards,
"Yeah, I know. I love you, too."
She kisses her neck, telling her, "I love you a lot."
Lilly knows it, she knows Ava loves her a lot.
It's a known fact.
Ava bites her neck the tiniest bit, enough to make Lilly hastily ask,
"What the hell-"
Ava is grinning at her mischievously,
"Just wanted to see what would happen." She laughs, feigning innocence.
Lilly sighs deeply, laughing herself now.
The sweetest person ever can also be a mischievous little devil.
A curious, mischievous little devil, who only ever shows her curious mischief when her mind is floating in a haze of pot and the fuzzy warmth of the love of her life.
"Don't do it again, alright? I can't show up to class with love-bites all over me."
"Alright, alright..."
She lays her head on the pillow, and hugs Lilly tightly, not planning on letting go any time soon.
Lilly leans into her, she could stay here until the weekend is over and do nothing else.
She wouldn't mind that at all.

jade’s main verse bio can be found here. below is her stranger things verse which i have been meaning to write up since...june. she’s afflilated with @liiabilities eddie munson, so any mention of eddie is in relation to em’s eddie! trigger wanings: alcoholism
Jade is Hawkins born and raised, in current canon s4 timeline she is a senior along with Nancy, Robin & Eddie. She has an older by two years brother Frankie who goes to college in Chicago, who she misses like hell, they were super close growing up, especially since her parents separated in ‘79 when Jade was only eleven years old, she is a daddy’s girl at her core, so when her dad moved out to a neighbouring town she blamed her mom when she was adamant that she had to stay with her, she and her mom clash a lot, her mom is super controlling, and Jade is convinced she hates her because she’s too much like her dad.
Her dad struggles with alcoholism, and holding down jobs, and for the first year after the separation Jade barely saw him because her mom forbid it until he was clean, which she holds against her mom to this day. By canon timeline her dad is doing much better, and holding down a steady job in construction, her moms a waitress who mostly works graveyard, so Jade is home alone most nights which she loves and hate, because she’s a little afraid of being home alone, so she’ll go bug Eddie if he’s home, or her bestie Sofia.
She is friends with Eddie, after she inserted herself into his life the first time she saw him play guitar out on the porch of his trailer at 13 years old, jade was 11 and got a guitar for Christmas that year, and she somehow hoodwinked him into teaching her how to play, a few years later when she starts high school she joins hellfire club as the first girl in the club, but growing up with a big brother she can hold her own and the guys don’t scare her off, no matter how much shit they give her for being part jock (she runs track, and come senior year she’s captain of the girls track and field team) any comments are met with a flip of the bird and sarcastic comment right back.
Circa S3 she gets a part-time job in the record store that opens up in Star Court Mall, so yes, she has indeed seen Steve Harrington in all his Scoops glory. JB is smart, fierce, quick-witted and observant as hell, by ‘84 she is more than aware there is something fucking weird about Hawkins, with the weird animal sightings, kids going missing and turning up not dead, she knows something is up, just not what, but she doesn’t buy into the Mall Fire story and does some sleuthing of her own to find out the real story - yeah she’s still working on that, no solid proof but a gut feeling that something is off in Hawkins.
You’re most likely to find her anywhere but at home, ever since her brother left for college, her buffer between her and her mom is gone, so she avoids home as much as possible, in S4 she is working at the movie theatre in town, which is a score for the film nerd in her, otherwise you’ll find her on the track field, at hellfire club, the quarry, scoping out new movies releases in family video, occasionally the arcade, and often the fuck outta Hawkins when her dad lets her borrow his car.
OPEN TO: established connections, friendships, romantic ships (preference for queer ships, she’s very bisexual), rivals, throwing her into the upside down fuckery, pretty much everything but i am a plot bases bitch, so if you’re interested in writing with my baby hmu and we can plot!

Hey! Could you please do an Eddie Munson X reader where Jason tries to hit on the reader and ask her on a date. She doesn’t want to and keeps saying that she has a boyfriend (Eddie) but he says “he’s not here now.” Maybe he gets annoyed and grabs your wrist or something but Eddie turns up and protects you from him
overprotective eddie fuck yeah (even tho this situation it's a v normal reaction so...regular protective eddie fuck yeah!)
you don't see jason for like a year after you graduate. mostly because you have no reason to because he's just genuinely just an all around asshole but also because he went off to some fancy ass university on a sports scholarship in illinois
you cross paths for the first time again over a year after you've all graduated; it's christmas time and he's home for the holidays
you're staying with eddie in the trailer; his uncle's away seeing family & all of your annoying relatives are over. it's just you and him and it's pure fucking bliss
that is until he accidentally blows the power w his guitar amp and you're left in the fucking cold
so he sends you packing down to goodwill one tuesday evening with 20 bucks in hand to buy whatever blankets you can find
eddie waits in the car because "he doesn't do well in the cold"
he's a terrible liar
anyways - you're crossing the street from his van when jason spots you. he's loitering outside family video; he looks the same as ever, just with slightly longer hair and a half-arsed attempt at a beard
he calls your name and it takes you a second to realise who it is. you give him a small smile and wave but the way he moves towards you implies he's about to make small talk
it's fine for the first two minutes. jason asks about work, your mum, the usual bullshit. it's not until he makes the suggestion of meeting for dinner the next day that you realise where the conversation is going
you know what he's getting at - according to his friends around hawkins, he has very little success with women
"my dad is friends with the owner of that new italian place down the street. we can get a few drinks and-"
"- i still have a boyfriend, jason. thanks for the offer though."
that's what jason's face falls: he had a crush on you for most of high school and it killed you a little bit inside when you started dating eddie in senior year
"c'mon, take a break from the trailer park trash-"
(that was when he took your wrist in his hand. hell fucking nO)
"- and spend the night with a proper guy. i'll treat you right."
it's at that point that you hear the door to the van slam and within seconds, a denim jacket and mass of curly hair is making its way across the road
"hey, man - didn't you hear them? back the hell off!"
eddie isn't overprotective by nature; he's chill as fuck 99% of the time but jason carver is the exception to the rule
he has an arm around your waist in seconds, chest puffed out as he pushes you behind him a little in an attempt to shield you from what he has deemed to be the worst man alive
"calm down, munson. i was just putting the offer out there"
and honestly it sort of boils eddie's blood a bit?? because he cares very little about how successful his classmates were, even less about what they think about him, but he has constantly thought about the possibility you might one day wake up and realise you can do better than a washed up musician
a guy like jason for example, who for all of his shortcomings, has a rich family, goes to a great university and will probably be in the nfl one day or some shit
but it's bullshit!! btw. because you literally would never even give another person a single thought. eddie is your whole life.
"you should go"
and surprisingly, jason does. he admits defeat, holds his hand up in defense and begins his walk home
which is when you press a kiss to eddie's lips and turn around to face your new enemy
"MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS, CARVER!"

August 18, 1985
BRRING BRRING BRRING
The alarm goes off and you groan, smacking the top of the unwelcome reality check. It was the first day of senior year and you were ready to get it over with. High school was already hell on so many levels: between having to live up to your brother Leonardo’s perfection of prom king, full ride scholarship to Northwestern thanks to good grades and multiple extra curriculars, played basketball and baseball and was popular among everyone. Leo left last month for Evanstown, Illinois to go live in a house with his buddies so it was just you, your mom and Norm; a 3 year old mutt you had rescued from the shelter last year. You heard Norm whine beside you, signaling it was time to get up. You get up, stretching in the process, heading to your door to let Norm out. You needed to get ready and your mom would take care of the dog for you.
Once in the bathroom, you turned on the radio and let whatever was on the radio play on while you sang along. You had decided to tease your curls slightly and sprayed it into place with Farrah Fawcett’s signature hairspray (Steve would KILL you had you used Aquanet). Your nails were already a metallic purple color that you decided to match with your purple denim skirt, a Blondie t-shirt and your brand new black and white Converse before adding your accessories (rings, necklaces and a few jelly bracelets).
You decided you were ready so you grab your backpack and head down to the kitchen, seeing your mother already up having coffee with some eggs and toast. Things were rocky with your mom a few years back but it feels like things have been patched over. It was rough seeing your mom hurting so much because of something your father did but you were hurting from it too so call it a trauma bond; call it family; call it whatever you want, you were just glad you still had one parent who gave a shit about you. It was simply because she loved you and wanted the best for you but you had to admit the overbearing tendencies along with her ridiculously high expectations were a lot. She was a hardworking woman with a career as a nurse so she was gone most nights, making mornings and after school the only real time you saw each other.
“Morning sweetheart. Are you excited for your first day back?” she asked, sipping her coffee while you made your own.
“I’m excited to see my friends but otherwise I feel pretty normal about it. Is there some kind of magic that I’m missing out on that was supposed to turn me into a peppy American girl?” you ask, gathering supplies for your lunch. You heard your mom laugh at your response.
“No. I just remember my senior year well and I want you to have some memories to look back on with Robin and Ali. I mean we did everything under the sun. I remember going to all the games with Susan and Karen, bonfires, prom, getting my college acceptance letter to University of Indiana, meeting your father…” she trailed off at that thought. You could almost see her slipping back into the darkness that once consumed the petite woman swirling around her thoughts.
“Yeah mom, that’s exactly what I need right now: a high school boyfriend. You forget who you’re talking to here.” you said, tossing a slice of bread in the toaster.
“I’m talking to my beautiful, brilliant, witty, wonderful daughter. You can do anything sweetie if you put your mind to it.” she said encouragingly as the toaster pinged out your breakfast. You grab your slices, joining her at the table, smearing butter along your toasted bread.
“I know Mom. I know how important this year is, especially after last year. I won’t let you down.” you vowed remembering the months long depression thanks to the simultaneous breakups of both your parents marriage and your own 3 year relationship with your boyfriend. You checked the time, finished your toast and grabbed your lunch bag, going to your mother’s side. “I’ll see you when I get home okay mom? I love you.” you say hugging her. She hugged back sending her love to you as you walked out the door, backpack in tow.
The drive to school was mostly quiet except for the sounds of the radio filling the void. You were super excited about seeing your girlfriends Ali and Robin. You and Ali had been friends since you moved to Hawkins in third grade. She immediately befriended you and the rest was history. You guys stuck together through a lot: puberty, first loves, first heartbreak, your high school careers and recently the changes in your family dynamic. She was the sister you never got. A few months ago you guys had become good friends with Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington.
Steve and Ali were “strictly friends” but to anyone who didn’t know them would say they are together. They bantered like husband and wife, pushed each other out of their comfort zones and even coparenting the kids you used to babysit for: Dustin Henderson, Mike Wheeler and Lucas Sinclair. You mainly spent time with Dustin since you lived four houses down, his mom would often have you look after him when she needed a night to herself. You didn’t mind at all since Dustin was a sweet kid and you had a lot of common interests like nerdy movies, comic books, reading fantasy novels and one summer you even guested on their D&D campaign.
When you got to the school, it was already buzzing with excitement as everyone was finding their group or recruiting/ harassing freshmen. You couldn’t help but wonder what would happen this year. Would it be easier than last year? Last year you went through hell, barely passing your junior year but you knew they only passed out of pity like some charity case. But you were determined to get the hell out of Hawkins, away from the judgmental eyes. You pulled around to the back of the school and parked by the football field, enjoying your last few moments of peace. You put on your walkman headset and pressed play, the sounds of Heart of Glass played as you got out of the car, coffee in hand and backpack slung over your shoulders.
You found Ali, Steve and Robin sitting under a tree with Steve sitting behind Ali while he talks to Robin about something. Ali, in all her pink hair glory, was nibbling on grapes while the rest of her face was hidden by the book.
“Ali it’s the first day. It’s a little too early to have your nose buried in a book,” you say announcing yourself once you’re in earshot.
“Says the girl who always has her nose buried in the same book; I’ll take it as a compliment.” Ali retorted, not even looking up from her copy of Christine by Stephen King.
“Touche. So how are we on this fine morning?” you ask, sitting in front of Robin, taking a sip of your coffee from the Thermos.
“Doing better than Danny Baker. He tried to ask out Jenny Daniels after 15 minutes ago and got rejected.” Robin said, exaggerating. You laughed along with everyone else, imagining the poor junior boy asking out a senior cheerleader.
“And this is why I hate popularity.” you say remembering last year.
“Yeah take it from me; it's nothing more than an overrated beauty contest.” Steve said, running his hand through his brown hair.
“Plus we have each other. Nothing can touch us this year.” Ali said, matter of factly, putting her hand in for an “All For One; One For All” style handshake. You, Steve and Robin put your hands in, pushing them down and lifting them above your heads.
“So what’s the plan for this weekend ladies? Movie night? Arcade night? Wanna go see the new Living Dead movie?” Steve inquired, stealing one of Ali’s grapes and popping it in his mouth.
“Definitely not that but a movie night does sound nice.” Ali said, folding her page and putting it down.
“I’m so in for a movie night. Who wants to host?” Robin said just as they all look at you simultaneously.
“Well then,” you said laughing, “I guess I’ll host, Saturday night after work sounds good to everyone?” you inquire as everyone agrees. The bell rang and Steve waved bidding you ladies goodbye as he walked to his car. The three of you continued towards the building, exchanging class schedules. You had English, Chemistry and Calculus together and the classes went on like clockwork. Introductions from each other, having to introduce yourself like you haven’t known each other your entire academic careers, listening to syllabi, some “light homework” to see where you’re at/get to know you. Before you knew it, it was lunch time. You stopped at your locker to drop off your backpack, needing only your home lunch and your walkman since you knew Robin and Ali were going to be chatting about something the entire period. You walked into the cafeteria and it was like nothing had changed; every clique sat with their proper herd. You found Ali and Robin sitting at your usual table with some band geeks and “inbetweeners”. But this time you saw three familiar young faces sitting with the girls. The curly haired boy was wearing a Thinking Cap hat, a Weird Al shirt, khakis and some Reebok sneakers. The longer haired boy was wearing a striped shirt, jeans and Converse and the afro haired boy was wearing a blue shirt, jeans and Nike sneakers.
“Ah I see we picked up some stragglers along the way to lunch did we ladies?” you say smiling as you walk up to the table and all three boys smile seeing you.
“Y/N!! Holy shit! We haven't seen you in like a month. How are you? Dustin exclaimed, excited to see you.
“I’m good Dusty. Just been working and helping mom around the house. How are you? Everything going okay on your first day boys?” you say, sitting down in front of them. From the tone of your voice, your motherly instincts come out. You had this protective tenacity about the boys, especially after everything they went through these last few years.
“Nothing major. Just calling us nerds, fresh meat. No locker shoving yet.” Mike said, smirking at the end before he bit into his burger.
“You let us know if it gets too bad. Also, Mike, what happened to your style?” Ali asked, taking note of his outfit for the first time that day.
“Don’t; just don’t. Mom went to the mall last minute and came home with this, guilting me into wearing it” Mike warned. You almost laughed at him but were cut off by a new voice joining the conversation.
“Well that explains a lot. And here I was coming over to invite you boys to the most badass club in Hawkins but your mom bought you that outfit from The Gap?” You looked up and saw a boy you were familiar with. Eddie Munson. He was a senior last year and really pissed everyone off because he was loud and proud of who he was and what he believed. He ran against the status quo and didn’t wanna conform to high school norms. He had long curly hair that almost seemed to have a life of itself with its unpredictability, wore a customized leather jacket with a denim jacket over it, covered in patches of bands he liked. He always wore the same rings and metal jewelry to complete his outfit. Today he was wearing an Iron Maiden t shirt, jeans, white high top Reeboks and his jacket. He was known as the school “freak” who everyone bought their ganja from. He’s a third year senior and from what you had seen, he always looked out for the misfits. He was almost like a Hawkins Peter Pan, looking out for the lost boys and girls; giving them a found family and friend group. Getting lost in his brown doe eyes, you zoned out a good portion of the conversation but based on what you saw, you noticed the boys seemed to trust the metalhead and as much as every nerve was yelling out at you to Mother Hen them, they were young men now and completely capable of making their own decisions.
“So what do you say boys; wanna join Hellfire?” the man inquired, standing behind the boys with an arm around each of them. He looked at you and smiled, winking. You smiled back, taking a chip from your bag. “That is if you ladies are okay with me stealing away your company.” he said looking between the three of you, taking extra time on you. You look at the boys and they are practically begging you to say yes.
“Well I suppose we could make due. Besides, you won’t find a finer artificer, ranger or Paladin to join your party my good sir.” you respond smiling as the three boys lit up. Eddie smiled as well, standing up and notioning to his table
“Welcome to Hellfire. Come meet the rest of the party.” He said enthusiastically. The two boys grabbed their stuff saying their silent Thank Yous as they made their way to their new table.
“Well at least the kids are fitting in.” Robin noted, seeing the boys be introduced around the Hellfire table with huge smiles on their faces.
“Yeah I’m happy for them. They need some friends outside of themselves and I think it’ll be great for them to branch out.” you add, taking a bite of your sandwich.
“Wait til Steve hears who they befriended though. We will get a classic Harrington melt down.” Ali said laughing at the thought. You and Robin joined in imagining the stern look on his face and his signature pose: hands on his hips in disappointment.
“Now THAT I will have to see. Please make sure we are there for it.” Robin begged. The conversation turned to plans for the rest of the day. You all had work tonight (Ali and Robin at Family Video and you at the local music store your uncle owned) so you wouldn’t be able to hang out properly until Saturday but promised to talk tonight after work. The bell rang and you all headed to Chem.
Your last class creeps up on you before you know it. You get to class and find your seat in the middle of the back row. You loved English but hated sharing how you felt about a certain piece of literature, especially when half the class didn’t care about it. The class started filling up and Mrs. O’Donnell started her welcoming speech which felt like a lecture thanks to her long, droning, drawn out tone of voice. A few minutes into her syllabus overlay, the door opened and revealed the same long haired boy from lunch. Everyone looked up at him and then back to the front.
“Mr. Munson, so glad you could finally decide to join us.There’s one seat left next to Ms L/N. She will be your peer editor this year so please take your seat in an orderly fashion.” Mrs O’Donnell scolded pointedly, rolling her eyes as the boy saluted her walking to the seat on your right. He settled in as Mrs O’Donnell continued her lecture. You try everything to pay attention but you find yourself doodling on your notebook humming to whatever song comes to mind. Before you knew it, the boy to your right started to tap along to your humming. You looked over at him, thumping his pencil along the beat with your humming, his hair getting in his face as he drummed.
“Sittin in a classroom thinkin its a drag listening to the teacher rap just ain’t my bag. by the two bells ring, you know it’s my cue…”
“I’m gonna meet the boys on floor number two. Smokin in the boys room; smokin in the room. Now teacher don’t ya fill me up with your rule…”
“Cause everyone knows that smoking ain’t allowed in school.” you sang in a loud whisper together. You looked up from your finished doodle (a black inked rose). You looked up to see the long haired boy looking at you with interest.
“Motley Crue huh? Didn’t see that one coming.” he said with a smirk. He was very intrigued by the girl who knew things about Dungeons and Dragons and metal but was also pretty and nice to him. Was this a prank? Is someone fucking with him?
“Oh I’m full of surprises. I’m Y/N” you say, offering out your hand.
He takes it and brings it to his lips, pressing the lightest kiss to your hand. “Eddie. Pleased to meet you. So how do you know the freshmen?”
“I’ve been babysitting Dustin ever since I moved to Hawkins and I grew to love the little nerds. I meant what I said earlier at lunch by the way,” you said kindly as he smiled.
“I know. If there’s one thing I’ve gathered about you so far is that you’re honest. Not a lot of people are.” he said trailing off in thought. It was almost like he was in a memory for a moment. You got the feeling that Eddie hadn’t had much experience with genuine human beings and the thought of that alone made you wanna know more about him.
“Well I will always be honest with you. For example: I really dig how you don’t give a fuck about what everyone thinks about you. You run to the beat of your own drum,” you admit, laughing a little at the end imagining him dancing to a heavy beat.
“Always have. ‘S nice to have someone appreciate it,” he said, pulling a hand through his hair. You smiled at the nervous reaction. It was a cute sight to see such a confident man turn into a school boy even for a moment just because you complimented him.
“You’re a contradiction ya know?” Eddie said, breaking your thought process. You look at him, now finding yourself interested in his opinion of you. “Oh? Pray tell.”
“You’re a semi-popular girl wearing a Blondie shirt and screaming Cyndi Lauper but here you are humming Motley Crue. I gotta say I’m intrigued by a woman of your stature.” he admitted.
You chuckle a bit at his comment, pushing a fallen piece of hair out of your eyes and behind your ear. “Yeah some people call it an identity crisis but I simply just like what I like and people can fuck off if they don’t get it.” You said simply, shrugging your shoulders for effect right as the bell rang. Everyone else was ready to go and rushed out of the classroom while you gathered your things into your backpack.
“So Smokin In The Boys Room is your actual favorite Crue song?” Eddie asked, grabbing his notebook.
“No not by a long shot; fit the mood though don’t ya think? My favorite is actually Wild Side because it’s the song that got them started and as much as it is a metal song, if you listen close enough, you can almost hear a punk song,” you admit, slinging your bag over your shoulders.
Eddie pondered this for a moment, genuinely impressed by how passionately you spoke about music and why it made you feel a certain way. It almost made him wanna find that tape and see what he was missing. “Hmmm that’s an interesting approach L/N. Never thought about it that way.”
“Let me know your thoughts next time I see ya,” you say walking out of the room.
“That I can do,” he replied, walking side by side with you. “However, you have to listen to one of my favorites for me; it’s only fair.” he said, his brown eyes almost sparkling at the thought.
“Okay Eddie, name it. I’m not scared of a little metal like most of the girls in this school.” you say walking towards your locker, Eddie at your side still.
“Well let’s keep it in theme shall we? School Daze by W.A.S.P. One of the greatest bands to ever rock a stage.” He said proudly. You smiled at him. Of course he was gonna start you off on one of his favorites.
“Okay you’re on. Give it what a week to gather proper thoughts and continue this conversation?” you offering smiling still as you got to your locker.
“Sounds good to me. Until next week m’lady.” He said, tipping two fingers like he was tipping his hat to you as he walked away. You couldn’t help but smile widely about the interesting boy that was a social pariah, considered a freak but really was a cool guy trying to get through senior year. Just like everyone else. You had to admit he was really cute with how sweet he was to you but you were sure he was like that with all the girls. I mean you guys just met today.
You didn’t even notice Ali and Robin coming to your locker until one of them said “Earth to Y/N” Hellllooooo. Are you in there?’ You shook your head, clearing your mind.
“Sorry. I got in my head for a while there.” you said, blushing a little.
“We noticed. Would the reason why start with Eddie and end with Munson.” Ali probed, having seen the last part of your interaction. It took everything in you not to blush more.
“No. Besides, we were just talking about music. Nothing too serious.” you say nonchalantly.
“Yeah but Eddie Munson doesn’t talk to just anyone. Sure he talks to his friends and his ‘clients’” Robin said, air quoting clients.
“Didn’t you say something similar last summer when you guys became friends with Steve Harrington?” you countered, pointing out the unorthodox friendship between them and the older boy, “Plus it’s not a big deal. He seems like a nice guy and he’s my peer editor for the rest of the year so it’s better we have a friendly demeanor as opposed to just not saying anything.”
“I’m just saying it’s cute is all. I can see the potential.” Ali said, hugging her books into her chest, shrugging her shoulders.
“Yeah Y/N, it’ll be good for you to put yourself out there again. Especially after–” Robin started to say before you cut her off.
“AH! AH! We do not speak his name. We swore never to speak his wretched name ever again after that night.” You say in a rush.
“Okay, okay. Calm down dude. When SLIMEBALL did The Thing. But girl, you deserve the world and as your best friends, it’s our job to ensure you get just that.” Ali finished.
“Speaking of, when are you finally gonna admit your feelings for Harrington?” you joke, poking Ali in the ribs.
“Oh fuck off. You already know I’m too shy and he will never see me like that.” Ali whined, leaning her head back in frustration.
‘Woman you have six kids together. He calls you Mom; you call him Dad. You’re basically married and skipped all the steps in between,” you exclaim laughing at the end.
“She’s got a point,” Robin pointed out.
“But you see the sea of women lined up for even a chance to date Steve Harrington. I don’t wanna become one of those girls.” Ali said.
“You won’t be because you know why? You’ve got us and we’re gonna make damn sure you have a kickass boyfriend by year's end.” Robin vowed
“I second this motion,” you agree.
“You guys are assholes,” Ali groaned as you exited the school.
“We know but you love us,” Robin said, scrunching her face up.
“Yeah yeah yeah. We gotta get to work otherwise Steve will blow a gasket working a double.” Ali said, sighing. You all nodded and said goodbyes, promising to talk tomorrow first thing before heading separate ways.
The drive home was unmemorable with the radio playing whatever mundane Top 40 song was popular. Your mind is occupied with the events of the day; mainly Eddie Munson, the boy in the Iron Maiden shirt, leather jacket and ripped jeans. The boy who seemed to see you and was interested in you for reasons other than your past. You got home and immediately were greeted by your dog Norm. He was the most loyal, protective and loving dog so you guys had named him after you and your mom’s favorite resident drunk on Cheers!
“Norm!” you exclaim like they did on the show, seeing as that’s how you had greeted him since he was a puppy. You pet him while he excitedly wagged his entire body along with his tail. Norm really was the light of your life.
“Let me get changed and we will go on our run okay boy?” you inquire, scratching behind his ears, earning a bark of approval. You bound up the stairs and change into some spandex shorts, a baggy t shirt and your running shoes. You walk over to your cassettes and grab your Ramones tape Road To Ruin, get it loaded in your walkman and head back down downstairs to get Norm’s leash.
“Ready boy? Let’s go!” you say after you leashed him up, opening the door to let Norm out first with you on his tail locking the door behind you. Running usually cleared your head and kept you centered, at ease but today you kept thinking about that curly haired boy in sixth period.

A/N: Chapter 2 is here! Sorry it’s a bit shorter in length. The rest should be longer. If you requested to be tagged, I tried to link you at the bottom of the chapter. Enjoy and as always, any feedback is appreciated! :)
"Good morning, Celia," Sophia Bedfird, the head nurse standing at the front desk, greeted Celia with a smile as she walked through the hospital's doors.
"Hello, Ms. Bedfird," Celia bowed her head all formal like, causing the woman who was just a few years her senior to giggle.
"You, of all people, know well enough that we're on a first name basis by now, CeCe!" Sophia stated, trying so hard to keep a straight face, but it faded as the two ladies laughed in the reception area.
"What jobs do I have to do today?" Celia asked then, getting back to the task at hand.
"You've got to scrub the used bed pans, sweep the floors, and I think that Dr. Goodman's got tools that need to be disinfected," she read off the list, making Celia scrunch her face. She didn't necessarily enjoy doing the various chores around the hospital, but it paid good money and money was something that Celia's family needed right now.
"Ok. I'll get right to it. Thank you!" she chirped, smiling at the nurse as she spun on her heel to get started.
The events of last night popped in her mind before she was able to take a step, making her spin back around to the desk, "oh hey, Soph, by any chance was a person brought here by ambulance last night?" she inquired, inwardly hoping that the person had pulled through.
"Let me see," Sophia tapped her chin as her eyes scanned through their admittance records. "We had a male with several abrasions, a broken arm, and multiple bruised ribs brought in around 9:30 yesterday evening," she answered, looking up at her with furrowed brows, like she wanted to know more. "Any reason?"
"Yeah, well I...I uh, called the ambulance that brought him here. I think he got jumped or something in the alley. There were gunshots and then whistles, like the cops had shown up, but when I got to the alley, he was laying there; left for dead," she explained the reasoning behind her questions.
Sophia nodded along as Celia spoke, listening intently to what she was saying.
"Can I maybe have the number of the room he's in?" Celia asked then, waiting anxiously as Sophia gave her a look. "Come on, Sophia, please? I can't get last night's events out of my mind. Maybe seeing that he's still alive will bring me peace," she tried to wager with the nurse who was still weighing the options in her head. "Please?" she added for good measure.
"Alright," Sophia gave in with a sigh, "room 111, but please be careful. He might not be happy to see you," she warned Celia, who’s smile now stretched across her face.
"Thanks, Soph!" Celia said, moving around the podium to hug the other woman before she started off down the hall.
Soon enough she was in front of room 111. Her smile was now replaced with pursed lips as she tried to think of how this could possibly go. This person could possibly want nothing to do with her. Hell, he might be angry with her that he'd been saved. But her earlier thoughts came back and reminded her that she wouldn't be able to move past this experience if she didn't at least see that this person was still alive. So throwing caution to the wind, she lifted her hand and knocked on the door three times before standing in wait.
"Come in," the hoarse voice called from behind the plank of wood, and Celia could've swore she heard it before. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and stood in its threshold. "You my nurse?" the man laying rigid in the bed asked, no emotion in his voice.
Realization struck Celia as her eyes fell on the man she'd just met yesterday...the man who was quite notorious in this city. He looked worse for wear. His right eye was swollen shut, there was a deep cut on his left cheek, and the left side of his lips were sliced, among the several other bruises that were littered over his face and upper chest. She also noticed that he had a sling positioned around his right arm, reminding her that Sophia had said he'd also broken an arm. Celia noticed she'd been staring when he raised his eyebrows.
"No um uh...I'm not. I, well I do work here, I'm just not a nurse," she stammered out, still in shock that he was still alive and right in front of her.
"You work here as well?" he inquired then, calling back to their interaction at the tailor's just yesterday.
"Yes. I work a few jobs. Need to help my family," she nodded her head. He then raised his hand and motioned her over. She nodded again and shut the door behind her before taking a few steps toward him so that she was close to his bedside now.
"Family?" he was back with the questions.
"Yes," she nodded once more. She was unsure of what else to add, so she stopped there and tried to read his expression. It gave her nothing. "Are you ok, Mr. Shelby?" she asked him then. Tommy instantly caught onto the genuine nature of her question. It surprised him that a woman, who 24 hours ago he had no idea existed, was here and was concerned about him.
He didn't know what to say, so he did what he knew how to do best...deflect with more questions: "do you know who I am, Celia?" he asked rather bluntly.
"Just barely. Mr. Robinson told me a bit about you and your...occupation," she responded, finding it a bit tough to find the correct wording. She didn’t know if he’d become angry with her if she just straight up called him a gangster.
"So he told you that I'm a bookmaker?" he asked inquisitively, a glint in his eyes.
"No...not really," she answered as her eyes dropped to her feet, feeling shy under his intent gaze.
"Didn't think so," Tommy shook his head, chuckling to himself, "yes, I'm the leader of a gang, but I think you're safe..." he trailed off, making Celia look up with furrowed eyebrows. "I don't expect problems from a woman who works at a tailor and cleans hospitals," he finished before adding: "unless you’d think differently." There was almost a playful glint in his eyes, and it made Celia smile. It surprised her that he was able to make a joke and be playful with her when he was sitting propped up in bed looking like he'd been dragged through hell not long ago.
"I don't know, Mr. Shelby. My third job could be a position as a trusted runner for an undercover moonshine operation," she played along with him, earning an amused chuckle in response.
"You wouldn't be working two other jobs then, would ya, love?" he waited for a response to his lighthearted, but true, statement, continuing when he got none, "and you can call me Tommy."
"So how are you, Tommy?" she reverted back to her original question, the sudden change of topics catching him off guard. She once again sounded genuinely concerned about him, and it made him feel that feeling again. He attempted to divert it by slowly reaching over to grab the pack of cigarettes that sat on the bedside table, wincing slightly when he extended his arm too far. He then stuck one between his lips before striking a match to ignite it.
After sucking in the nicotine and letting it out in a steady stream, he was finally able to speak, "I'm ok...been worse," he responded, a slight pause in his words as he attempted to explain how he was feeling. It had been awhile since someone asked him how he was feeling and meant it.
"You're not supposed to be smoking in here, Mr. Shelby," she pointed out then, watching as he created a makeshift ashtray out of a bowl that was sitting at his bedside.
"You'll have to make an exception. It's been a long 24 hours," he simply stated, letting out another stream of smoke. Celia stood with her mouth slightly agape, unable to think of a response to such a straightforward answer.
"Do you need anything before I leave, Mr. Shelby?" she asked then, just now remembering that she had chores to tend to. She really enjoyed being in this man's company, even if she didn't know him a day ago. Hell, she still really didn't know him too well.
"Yes, if you could please open the curtains to my windows. 'S getting a bit dreary in here, eh?" he asked and she nodded, completing his request with a smile.
Once the curtains were gathered to the sides of the window panes, Celia spun around to face him again, "anything else?" she asked, clasping her hands together against the front of her dress.
"Yes, if you could please call me Tommy instead of Mr. Shelby. We are not conducting a business meeting here, at least not to my knowledge," he stated, making her cheeks heat up as she realized the switch up she had made. "Unless you would like the Shelby Company Limited to form a partnership with that underground moonshine operation you said you're tied into," the teasing glint was back.
"Oh no that wasn't..."
"Real. I know, love. I'm fine with everything though, thanks for asking," he sent a smile in her direction and she simply nodded at him before moving towards the door. "It was nice to see you again, Celia," his voice caught her before she could leave the room.
"You too, Tommy. I wish you a speedy recovery," she sent him one last smile from the opened doorway. The clearing of someone's throat made her glance to her right to see an impatient nurse waiting to get into his room. That was her official cue to leave.
"I'll be back on my feet in no time," he told her goodbye then, and she finally left the room to go carry out her duties.
And although time passed between her and Tommy Shelby's conversation, she couldn't seem to get the blue-eyed, stony-faced man that she'd only met a mere 24 hours ago out of her head.
