I hate feeling like I have no energy to exercise so I asked my friends about pre-workout supplements/drinks. I don't know much about those. These were their recommendations:
Black coffee. Only supplement with good data is creatine (clean with no other additives) and hmb (for muscle recovery, and avoidance of muscle mass).
https://www.rivalnutrition.com/powder-burn/ A clean pre-workout, safe for Olympic athletes aka no banned substances or proprietary blends.
Gorilla mode is my go to pre. Tastes good. Mixes well. Works.
Ghost also makes a pretty good pre. Tastes good, mixes well, works but you pay a bit more as it also has some proprietary blend and name brand mixes (ie warheads/sour)
C4 Tastes good, works but mixes just okay. Was always getting a bit of chunks and occasionally chalky flavoring.
Hyde works, doesn't taste great, but mixes well.
Total war tastes bad (every flavor is gunk), doesn't mix well, and doesn't work.
Optimum nutrition is fine. Solid, not too expensive, drinkable, mixes but only kind of works.
Jack3D the original blend that they stopped selling will always be GOAT.
Basically you want caffeine (140-200mg) to jump start you, citralline to get blood flowing, and anything else is icing on the cake.
Personally get my aminos/bcaa and creatine from other powders but some people swear by having those in their pre too.
I don't know much about all that stuff, but when I see people going hard in the gym, it makes me want to go hard!

Not feeling it today, don't know if its cause I've slept in or hit a wall/ suffering from a bit of burnout

Weight - 12st 9 and a quarter lbs

I went and bought a pre-work to help with the workouts and try to get me going. I got C4, curiosity got the better of me and I thought I'd try a half scoop to see what it was like as I wasn't doing anything and on 3pm. Disappointing to say the least. Maybe a half scoop isn't enough. I'll try it properly tomorrow. I don't normally take preworkouts and I don't drink coffee so this should work

So I finally finished paramedic school and passed my exams...and am now officially a NYS Paramedic. Which means I have my life back and can really put my time back into the gym. I also moved and joined a new gym which is small but I think I like it. Anyway here's what I had before and after my workout today.

So I’ve tried three differnt types of pre-workout and I have to say nothing beats my C4 Ripped.
I originally had started with Motiv8 Burn which tasted wonderful and really helped me power through the workout and helped me sweat a lot, however it was up there in price which is why I had decided to switch up to the C4 Ripped.
I loved the C4 ripped but like the undeceive person I am I decided that I wanted to try 1UP nutrition and although it was good it was way too powdery for me and I didn’t like the taste the powder left. So of course I went back to my trusty C4 Ripped.
If you’re looking at starting to take preworkout definitely start out with half a scoop to build up your tolerance for it and once your tolerance has built up take a full scoop. As well as, don’t chug it down so fast because from my experiences I got very tingly all around my body compared to when I took it slower i didn’t feel the tingles.
