Cream cheese biscuits
Got this fancy cream cheese biscuit mix from Hmart!
No instructions in English. ..
However, the ingredients you’ll need include: 20mL water or milk, 1 egg, & mixing bowl + spatula.
You can either use air-fryer or an oven to bake it. If using air-fryer, you would set it to 180 degrees C for 12 mins. & if you’re using oven, it’s 210 degrees C for 15-18mins. I used the latter method.
I used water instead of milk.
ooooOh quite crumbly.
Divided into 6 portions.
& then 20mins later. ..
I noticed they didn’t brown very well after 15mins, so I added another 5mins, totaling 20mins at 210 degrees C.
They look cute!
The texture was kinda dry, but I expected that since no butter was added. I didn’t mind it though! Since this was cream cheese flavour, . ...you’d think it had cream cheese flavour but it didn’t. It was slightly sweet. Honestly would not be able to tell difference between this cream cheese flavour from an original flavour. The sweetness was good for me, which means. .. probably very bland to most ppl. But you can add your own jam or whatever you want.
Would I buy again?
YES.

I’m a Frito-Lay Factory Worker. I Work 12-Hour Days, 7 Days a Week
Hundreds of Frito-Lay workers are on day nine of a strike at a production plant in Topeka, Kansas that makes Fritos, Tostitos, Doritos, Cheetos, and Funyuns.
In recent days, the appalling working conditions at Frito-Lay have gone viral on Twitter—fueling a national conversation about the leverage low-wage workers have at this particular moment to demand more from large corporations after years of stagnant wages, few opportunities, and a deadly pandemic.
Many of the 850 workers at the facility say they work 84 hours a week with no days off. Workers are nominally supposed to work eight-hour shifts, but because of shortages, workers are often forced to add on an extra four hours before or after their shifts. Workers call these extended shifts "suicides," because they say the schedule kills you over time. Some workers haven't had a single day off in five months, including Saturdays and Sundays.
The grassy lawn outside the factory has transformed into a picket line, drawing crowds of hundreds of workers and union members from around Kansas. The struggle at Frito-Lay is a reminder that the eight hour workday–"eight hours for work, eight hours for rest and eight hours for what you will"—that workers won in bloody labor battles of the late 19th century can no longer be taken for granted.
In its latest contract offer, Frito-Lay has said it would raise wages by four percent over the next two years and put a cap at 60 hours a week. Frito-Lay workers who are unionized with Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Local 218 say that's not enough, and are demanding an end to forced overtime.
Motherboard spoke to Mark McCarter, a 59-year-old palletizer and union steward at Frito-Lay, who has worked at the Topeka facility for 37 years, about his job and why he's striking. – Lauren Kaori Gurley
I've worked at the Frito-Lay factory in Topeka, Kansas since I was 19, straight out of high school. I'm a palletizer. I run huge robots that are probably 15 or 20 feet tall and they transport product that comes from the production floor that's already been packaged—Fritos, Doritos, Tostitos, all the Cheetos.
After 37 years, I still get forced to work 12 hours a day, seven days a week. Seven years ago, my wife passed away and I spent a lot of time in grief counseling, and I told the company, I don't want to work 12 hours a day seven days a week. I ended up getting FMLA [Family Medical Leave Act unpaid leave], but they're still having me do it sometimes. You come in at 7 a.m. and not only do you work eight hours, but when you get off at 3 p.m., they suicide (force you to work a double shift) you and have you come back at 3am. There's 850 employees and it's true for half or three quarters of them.
Mark McCarter
This job wears you down, it tires you, and makes you mentally exhausted. It plays with your mind. Some of these guys who work 12 hours a day everyday are destroying their marriages. They're destroying their families. My wife passed away and I don't have a wife to go home to to say, 'Hey babe I'm only working eight hours tomorrow," but a lot of these guys come in with the understanding that they'll be here for eight hours but then they got to call their wives and kids and say, "Guess what? It's not eight hours. It's 12 hours and then I have to go back to work at 3am."
Frito-Lay has been told they need to fix this but unfortunately, when they bring in new people, they force the same schedule on them and they quit. Frito-Lay has waited so long to replace workers, and now Frito Lay has a horrible reputation in town so a lot of people won't work here.
“I think people are pushed to the edge. COVID created some of this. During COVID, managers got to work from home. People see that and realize they have other options.”
This is not a good job. At 7am, our warehouse is 100 degrees. We don't have air conditioning. We have cooks in the kitchen on the fryers that are 130 or 140 degrees making chips and sweating like pigs. Meanwhile, the managers have A/C.
I make $20.50 [an hour] after 37 years here. Most people make between $16.50 and $20 an hour. I haven't gotten a raise in a decade. Three years ago, I got a $600 bonus that was taxed, and three years before that I got another $600 bonus. That was my only "raise" for the past 10 years. This is from a Fortune 500 company that is making billions.
I can tell you that many people have had heart attacks in the heat at Frito-Lay since I've been here. One guy died a few years ago and the company had people pick him up, move him over to the side, and put another person in his spot without shutting the business down for two seconds.
It seems like I go to one funeral a year for someone who's had a heart attack at work or someone who went home to their barn and shot themselves in the head or hung themselves.
This used to be a bomb place to work. We had picnics together. We'd go to Worlds of Fun [an amusement park] together. We had community, lunch served, Christmas ham, Thanksgiving turkey. We'd do all that. These days we do absolutely nothing for employees. We work them; we send them home. It's demoralizing and it's truly nuts how a Fortune 500 company can get away with this kind of foolishness.
I stay here because in two years, I'll be 62 and I have a union pension acquired over 37 years. I've spent so much time here that I might as well take that pension and social security and call it quits.
We've had the right to strike for many decades, but we've never done it here in Topeka until now. This year, so many people have been working 12 hour days for five, six months at a time, they voted to strike in huge numbers.
I think people are pushed to the edge. COVID created some of this. During COVID, managers got to work from home. People see that and realize they have other options. Everyone's hiring and raising their pay because no one wants to work for $8 an hour anymore.
We would rather nobody buy any Frito-Lay products, Fritos, Doritos, Tostitos, Funyuns, Cheetos, all those, while we're on strike. We make all of those in Topeka, Kansas. We also would rather nobody buys PepsiCo products while we're on the line. PepsiCo is the owner of Frito-Lay. It owns KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, so we don't want anyone to buy any of that either.
We're hoping we can get these people back to work with a decent wage and some kind of alternative to all this forced overtime. Honestly, I don't know how what they're doing is legal.
A spokesperson for Frito-Lay told Motherboard, “Frito-Lay is committed to providing a safe and fair workplace for all of our employees, and we provide resources for any employee struggling with depression or other mental health issues. We have no knowledge of any associate taking their own life as a result of work conditions, and there have been no confirmed job-related deaths at the Topeka plant.
“Further, we wholly reject the recent allegation that an employee ‘collapsed and died’ and the company ‘moved the body and put in another co-worker to keep the line going. We are aware of only two instances in the last five years in which an individual has experienced a medical emergency at the plant that unfortunately resulted in that individual passing away. In both cases, medical attention was initially provided at the plant and work ceased until the associates were safely on the way to the hospital.” – Frito-Lay

“I Can’t Do This Without You” Part 2
Summary: Things go from bad to worse regarding Y/N’s health. It’s totally unexpected and heart wrenching.
Word Count: 1,669
Warning: Mention of cervical cancer, fainting, surgery and uncertainty of a loved one’s prognosis.
Characters: Bucky x Reader
OFC: Steven James, Isabella Marie, Dr. Travers, Tony, Nat, Sam, Wanda, Steve, Maddie and Zach
A/N: When you’re diagnosed with cancer, not only are YOU, the patient shaken to the core, family and friends are devastated also. This series DOESN’T make light of ANYONE with cancer. This series chronicles HOW family and friends process a loved one’s struggles and eventual remission.
Autumn in New York boasted crisp cool air, green leaves turning to spectacular hues of red and yellow, dotting each tree like paint on a color pallette. The breeze forced Y/N to zip her jacket and buy a hot cup of cocoa from a nearby vendor.
Moving to a nearby bench, she sighed, sitting down enjoying her cocoa, drinking in nature and its radiance.
Y/N’s mood turned somber. She thought about Izzy and S.J. How would they take the news about my health? And James? What would he do if I died? Could he be the father our kids need and not shut down?
Giving herself a mental scolding for such dire reflections, Y/N finished her hot chocolate, strolling back to tower.
The security guard out front, Riley, tipped his hat. Y/N waved, making her way to the elevator to her apartment.
Opening the apartment door, S.J. greeted his mother with a megawatt smile and a string of black bass he and Bucky caught.
“Mom, look what me and dad got!!!” S.J. couldn’t contain his pride.
“Wow, so many fish. Awwww look at their eyes. James, the fish are staring at me.”
Bucky and S.J. leaned against the wall in a belly aching fit of laughter. “Doll, you should see your face. Looks like you seen a ghost! C’mere baby lemme hold ya.”
Y/N put her hands up. “No sir, you will NOT come near me until you a) take a shower b) burn those clothes and c) do something with those fish!!! They’re creeping me out!!!”
Handing them to his dad, S.J. watched Bucky cut the heads off. “Cool dad! What’re you gonna do with the heads?”
Putting a hand over her mouth, Y/N ran to the bathroom emptying her stomach. Concerned, S.J. checked on Y/N. “Hey mom are you alright?!”
“Yes. I’m not used to seeing a fish beheaded.”
Bucky furrowed his brow, “Hey baby, you okay?”
“Yeah just feel sorry for those fish.”
Brushing her teeth, Y/N instructed her son to take a shower.
‘Steven James Barnes, take a shower, put your stinky clothes in this garbage bag. Then you can play video games.
“Yes ma’am.” S.J. hung his head, shuffling to the bathroom.
S.J. finished his shower at the speed of light, dropping his smelly clothes in garbage bag. “Okay well I’m gonna go play with Uncle Sam, see ya.”
Cleaning up his mess, Bucky decided to shower also. Y/N curled up on the sofa; a blanket draped over her legs.
Feeling Y/N’s forehead, Bucky appeared worried. “Dollface, are ya alright? Anything I can get ya?”
Waving him away, “James, I’m fine. Seeing those poor fish upset me. Go. The sooner you cook, the sooner I can taste your black bass and all the fixins’.”
“Yes wife, you’re in for a treat. See ya in a bit okay. I’ll send S.J. to get’cha when everything’s done.”
The door closed, Y/N tried to stand up. Crimson drops fell on her green t-shirt. “Oh no. My nose is bleeding. Where’s my cell phone? I need to call Bu-.” Everything went dark.
*****************************
In the common room, Steve learned how to use the automatic potato peeler and french fry cutter; Wanda and Nat tried their hand at hush puppies and tartar sauce. Tony complained about the smell.
Taking a sip of scotch, Tony grunted, “So, Terminator 2. You could’ve picked something other than fish? Smells like Mayberry in here.”
Pausing the game, S.J. asked his snarky uncle, “What’s a Mayberry?”
Sam told his curious nephew they’d watch “The Andy Griffith Show” later.
Clearing his throat, Bucky proudly announced, “These beauties were caught by our very own Steven James Barnes.”
Everyone applauded; S.J. took a bow. “Thank you….thank you!!! Dad helped, so I can’t take all the credit.”
Ready to be the fry cook, “Deep fryers are ready, Sarge.” Steve saluted. “Let’s get this party started.”
30 minutes passed. Y/N hadn’t made an appearance.
Wanda inquired, “Where’s Y/N? She should’ve been here by now.”
Interrupting their video game fun, Bucky asked S.J. to see what was keeping his mom.
Bursting in the apartment, S.J. gasped. “OMG!!! DAAAAAD….DAAAAAAAAAD!!! IT’S MOM!!!! COME QUICK!!!!”
Hearing S. J.’s shrills, everyone froze in place. Bucky dropped his scotch, sprinting towards their apartment. Nat, Wanda, Steve and Tony followed. Stopping at the door, Bucky saw Y/N’s pale, limp frame lying on the floor, blood oozing from her nose.
“NO NO NO NO!!! C’MON BABY!!!! WAKE UP PLEASE!!! THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!!!” Bucky held Y/N’s hand.
Nat grabbed a towel for Y/N’s nose, Tony barked orders to the hospital putting them on high alert, Steve brought a stretcher from medical; Sam and Wanda consoled S.J..
Tony ranted, “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT HOSPITAL PROTOCOL. WE’LL BE THERE IN 10 MINUTES AND SOMEONE BETTER BE WAITING. IF NOT, I’LL OWN THE HOSPITAL AND YOUR ASS BY TOMORROW MORNING!!!!!
Red tendrils flowed from Wanda’s fingers to soothe Bucky and S.J.
Trembling, S.J. asked Wanda if his mom’s gonna die?
Her thick Sokivian accent reassured him ‘no’.
Blood stains coated S.J.’s shirts, pants and hands. Sam suggested he shower and change clothes.
Moving at a fevered pace, Bucky, Steve, and Nat rolled Y/N into the quinjet. Tony wasted no time on take off.
Sitting by her side, Bucky’s broken and hoarse voice willed Y/N to live. “C’mon doll, wake up please baby, please wake up. Ya know I can’t do this by myself. Me, Izzy and S.J. need ya to be alright. Please be alright!!”
************************
The quinjet landed on the hospital helipad; Dr. Travers, 2 nurses, 2 orderlies on stand-by.
“Get her into Exam Room 5 and get the surgical team ready NOW!!!” Dr. Travers stopped Bucky from entering the room.
“James, you can’t come in. Let us handle it from here. I’ll take good care of her, you know that.”
Bucky nodded, slumping down the wall. Steve cradled his shaking body.
Nat and Tony volunteered to get Izzy. Her exams were over, so she could leave the campus. They didn’t waste any time driving to Columbia University.
Sam, Wanda and S.J. arrived at the hospital. Visibly distraught, S.J. sat next to Bucky, their fingers intertwined. Flesh and metal holding on for dear life.
Stepping out of the exam room, Dr. Travers informed Bucky that Y/N was bleeding internally and required emergency surgery. The operating room was ready. She was joining the team to consult with them about Y/N’s medical history.
Bucky whispered, “Hey uh Patricia? Thanks and take care of my lifeline, m’kay?”
“We’ll do everything in our power. Now if you’ll excuse me.”
The orderlies and nurses scurried from the room wheeling Y/N to the Operating Suite on the 9th floor.
An elderly lady from Guest Services took Steve, Bucky and S.J. to the 9th floor Family Room, where food and drinks awaited them, should anyone become hungry or thirsty.
Before leaving the room, the kind woman whispered to Bucky, “I’m praying for your wife.
Bucky thanked her; Steve hugged the polite volunteer. “We really appreciate your help. What’s your name?”
“Millicent Hayes. You’re very welcome Captain Rogers.”
**********************
Meanwhile, Tony and Nat didn’t waste time getting to Izzy. Upon arrival at the dorm, no one answered the door.
Pulling her phone out, Nat dialed Izzy’s number, but stopped when she heard laughter.
Izzy, Maddie, and Zach were returning from the dining room. Tony and Nat were seated on a bench near Izzy’s dorm
“Hey guys what are you doing here? I thought Dad would pick me up tomorrow?
“Hey kiddo. Let’s walk over here and talk.” Tony, Nat and Izzy moved to the side; Maddie and Zach waited on the steps.
Gazing into Izzy’s eyes, salty teardrops fell from Nat’s eyelashes onto her cheeks. “Your mom is in the hospital. She’s very sick. We came to take you to see her.”
Opening her mouth to speak, Izzy embraced Tony. “Please take me to her.”
Hearing their conversation, Maddie and Zach asked their hurting friend to call them if she needed to talk.
On their way to the hospital, Izzy asked Tony how bad it was. “I’m not gonna lie to you kid. It’s not good, but your mom’s strong. She’ll pull through.”
********************
Millicent greeted Izzy, Nat and Tony. She directed them to the 9th Floor Family Suite.
Izzy sprinted from the elevator into her dad’s arms. “Izzy, I’m so glad to see ‘ya baby. I missed ya so much.” “Missed you too dad.”
Ruffling his hair, “Hey squirt. You’ve grown a foot haven’t you?” S.J. embraced Izzy. “Hey sis, glad you’re home.”
The doors opened and Dr. Travers came in. Everyone shifted in their chairs.
Bucky held onto Izzy and S.J. Tony, Nat and Wanda huddled together. Sam and Steve rallied around Bucky.
“Surgery is still going on. I had no idea how fast the cancer progressed.
Bucky didn’t know what to do or say. His chest heaved. Steve placed a waste basket in front of him, as the contents of his stomach emptied.
Izzy spoke up. “Wait, mom has cancer? Wha-where dad?
Nat confirmed to Izzy and S.J., “She has Stage 3 cervical cancer. Y/N wanted you to finish the semester uninterrupted. And S.J., she knew you’d get distracted from soccer.”
“She’s always putting us before herself. Love you mom.” Izzy gently rocked her 15 year old brother.
Bucky’s best friend, soulmate, best half, confidant, lover…….his everything, was fighting for her life.
“Doll, if you can hear me, please don’t leave me. I can’t do this without you. Fight baby for me and the kids. We need ya, okay? Don’t give up…..don’t give up!!!”

Instant Pot Kung Pao Chicken
New Post has been published on http://healingawerness.com/uncategorized/instant-pot-kung-pao-chicken/
Instant Pot Kung Pao Chicken
Ready for a quick, 1-pot dinner recipe? Look no further than this healthy Instant Pot Kung Pao Chicken made with simple ingredients, delicious and juicy chicken and your daily serving of veggies! This one-pot wonder will wow the whole family.
I’ll be honest, I’m pretty slow to jump on food trends. I think I was the last person to buy a spiralizer and I’m still holding out on an air fryer. My skepticism holds me back and truthfully, C isn’t all that thrilled with another kitchen gadget taking up space in our already cramped kitchen. The Instant Pot is no exception. I figured, I already have a slow cooker, why do I need an Instant Pot?! If this Instant Pot Kung Pao Chicken is any indication, I clearly gave in.
We’ve actually had our Instant Pot for over two years. After hearing enough friends rave about theirs and trying some pretty delicious recipes (Lee is the queen of Instant Pot!) I decided to add it to our wedding registry. For the first few months I basically used it as a fancy rice cooker but it became pretty clear to me that while people may claim that it makes cooking faster, it certainly isn’t speeding it up by much. What would normally take me 40 minutes to cook short grain brown rice on the stove top now took me 30 minutes. I’ll take an extra 10 minutes any day, but let me be clear: the Instant Pot is not always a huge time saver.
So Why Use The Instant Pot?
So if it isn’t saving you time, why use the Instant Pot? C and I were having this discussion the other night (while eating this Instant Pot Kung Pao Chicken!) and we came up with a few reasons:
It may not always be quicker than the stovetop BUT but it has the flavor of something that was slow cooked for hours. The benefit of the slow cooker is how flavorful it can make your dishes and the Instant Pot gives you that flavor in a 1/4 of the time
Easy clean up! C loves how easy the clean up is with the Instant Pot. You cook everything in one pot which makes clean up so easy!
Set it and forget it. Like a slow cooker, you really don’t have to think much about your meal while it’s cooking. You can even set it on a timer to cook while you’re out.
So after I got over my initial fears of thinking my Instant Pot was going to blow up my house (it won’t!) I started to experiment with dishes and honestly, we use our Instant Pot at least 3 times a week. As someone who may be hesitant to jump on food trends, I am now fully engaged with the Instant Pot and won’t be looking back!
What Ingredients Do You Need:
garlic cloves
fresh ginger
tamari (or soy sauce)
hoisin sauce (use gluten-free hoisin sauce, if necessary)
raw honey
sweet chili sauce
rice wine vinegar
sesame oil
boneless, skinless chicken breasts
bell pepper
green beans
tapioca starch (or cornstarch or arrowroot)
How to Make Kung Pao Chicken in the Instant Pot
As with anything, learned to cook in your Instant Pot takes a bit of practice. Hopefully these step-by-step instructions can make this a bit easier for you.
STEP 1: Mix all of your ingredients (except chicken, veggies and tapioca starch) in the pressure cooker (or Instant Pot). Place your chicken on top and then flip so it’s coated on both sides. Set to pressure cook for 10 minutes on high and close the valve.
STEP 2: While chicken is cooking, chop up your veggies and set aside.
STEP 3: As soon as chicken is done, quick release to relieve all steam. Remove chicken and cut into cubes.
STEP 4: Set Instant Pot to saute mode and add veggies. Cook in sauce for 5 minutes or until fully cooked through. Meanwhile mix together 1 tbsp of tapioca flower (or cornstarch or arrowroot powder) with 2 tbsp of warm water and mix together to form a “slurry”. Add slurry to your sauce and veggies. Sauce should start to thicken.
STEP 5: Add your chicken back in and stir to coat with sauce. Serve with rice and optional toppings like peanuts, cilantro, red chili flakes and scallions.
Can You Cook Your Vegetables with the Chicken?
I have tried and tried and tried to figure out how to pressure cook vegetables in the Instant Pot, but I’m here to say it once and for all: It is not possible. No matter how many dishes I’ve tried to throw a few serving of veggies into, they will always end up as mush. So here’s the hack: Cook your meat on pressure cook and then switch to saute mode to cook your veggies. Yes, it’s an extra step but keep in mind, it’s one-pot cooking and will make sure your veggies don’t get mushy.
Easy Swaps You Can Make
Swap out different veggies based on what you have. You may need to adjust your cooking time but any veggies will work here
Gluten-free? Be sure to use gluten-free tamari and gluten-free hoisin sauce
I like to serve this pressure cooker kung pao chicken with brown rice but feel free to serve it with any type of grain or even cauliflower rice
Use frozen chicken! No fresh chicken in the house? Just adjust your pressure cooker time from 10 minutes to 12 minutes for frozen chicken breasts.
You can use any pressure cooker! Obviously the Instant Pot has gained tons of traction in the last couple of years but any pressure cooker by any brand will work here.
Can You Make This Kung Pao Chicken on the Stovetop?
Yes you can! So the actual cook and prep time on this is 20 minutes (with an additional 5-10 minutes for pressure to build) but if you don’t have a pressure cooker or Instant Pot, you can absolutely make this Kung Pao Chicken on the stove top.
My suggestion is to saute the chicken for roughly 5-6 minutes per side to cook all the way through. Then add all of your ingredients (except chicken, veggies and tapioca) and cook for a few minutes until it all comes together. Then add your veggies and follow the same instructions as indicated below for the Pressure Cooker Kung Pao Chicken version. You’ll add your slurry, chicken etc…It will probably take the same amount of time but the flavors just won’t be as rich. It will still taste delicious!

1/4 cup tamari (or soy sauce)
1 tbsp hoisin sauce (use gluten-free hoisin sauce, if necessary)
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 cup water
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 bell pepper, diced
1 lb green beans, ends trimmed and chopped
1 tbsp tapioca starch (or cornstarch or arrowroot)
optional toppings: peanuts, cilantro, red pepper flakes, scallions etc…
Instructions
Mix all of your ingredients (except chicken, veggies and tapioca starch) in the Instant Pot.
Place your chicken on top and then flip so it’s coated on both sides.
Set to pressure cook on high for 10 minutes and make sure valve is set to close.
While chicken is cooking, chop up your veggies and set aside.
As soon as chicken is done, quick release to relieve all steam. Remove chicken and cut into cubes.
Set Instant Pot to saute mode and add veggies.
Sauce should start to thicken (1-2 minutes)
Once sauce has thickened, add your chicken back in and stir to coat with sauce.
Serve with rice and optional toppings like peanuts, cilantro and scallions.

Easy Low-Carb Air Fryer Fish Sticks
posted by Kalyn Denny on March 25, 2019
Easy Low-Carb Air Fryer Fish Sticks are a fun dinner idea that’s quick and easy enough to make on a work night! Please don’t skip the tartar sauce for these tasty little pieces of air fryer fish. Use Seafood Recipes for more tasty fish dinners!

I’m slowly warming up more to the Air Fryer, and these Easy Low-Carb Air Fryer Fish Sticks are my latest Air Fryer experiment that turned out to be a complete winner. We used frozen cod that we thawed overnight, drained, and then sliced crosswise to make short pieces of fish. We dipped the fish in egg and then in almond meal that was seasoned with fish rub and a little black pepper. The fish sticks only take 10-12 minutes to cook in the Air Fryer, and then we devoured them with my favorite Ultra Easy Double Dill Tartar Sauce.
We purposely kept this recipe simple because we wanted to let the flavor of the fish really shine through. But if you wanted to add something like Spicy Old Bay Seasoning or another seasoning blend that’s good with fish to the almond flour mixture, go ahead and let your creative cooking juices flow!
Which Air Fryer Did I Use?
I originally bought a NuWave Air Fryer and used it a few times to make Air Fryer Spicy Sweet Potato Fries. Then I discovered the Cuisinart Convection Air Fryer Toaster Oven which is the one I used for this recipe. This air fryer has a larger basket, which lets me fit 16 fish sticks, and I find this model very easy to use. I also like the convenience of having an air fryer that stays out on the counter. If you have a smaller air fryer model you might not be able to fit quite so many fish sticks. (Air fryer links are affiliate links. I’m not trying to convince you to buy an air fryer; you can follow the cooking instructions for Whole Wheat Panko and Almond Crusted Oven-Baked Fish Sticks if you want to cook the fish sticks in the oven.) Use Air Fryer Recipes to see the other Air Fryer recipes on this site.
(This is just a summary of what’s in the photos; see the recipe below for complete instructions.) Thaw the fish pieces overnight in the fridge if frozen. Then drain fish well and pat dry with paper towels. Cut fish crosswise into short strips about 1 inch wide. Prepare two bowls, one with beaten eggs and the other with a mixture of almond flour, Fish Rub, and a little freshly-ground black pepper. (I used my favorite Szeged Fish Rub, but any good tasting brand will be fine.)
Set Air Fryer to 390F/200 C. Preheat the air fryer if needed. Then dip each piece of fish first into the egg and then into the almond flour mixture. Cook the fish 10-12 minutes, checking it after 10 minutes to see if you need more time. We used our fingers to turn the fish once, but it probably wasn’t 100% necessary.
Serve hot with Ultra Easy Double Dill Tartar Sauce or your favorite tartar sauce!
Make it a Meal: This would taste great with Kalyn’s Low-Carb Coleslaw or Spicy Mexican Slaw for a low-carb meal.

Easy Low-Carb Air Fryer Fish Sticks
Yield: 16 fish sticks
Total Time: 30 minutes
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Easy Low-Carb Air Fryer Fish sticks cook in about 10 minutes and they’re delicious with Double-Dill Tartar Sauce!
Ingredients:
4 pieces of cod, halibut, or other thick white fish fillets
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup almond flour
1 – 2 tsp. Fish Rub, depending on how seasoned you prefer it
1/4 tsp. freshly-ground black pepper
Tartar Sauce for serving (We loved this with my Double-Dill Tartar Sauce, see notes.)
Directions:
Thaw the cod, halibut, or other thick white fish pieces overnight in the fridge if frozen. Then drain fish well and pat dry with paper towels.
Cut fish crosswise into short strips about 1 inch wide. We got 16 strips from four fish fillets, but if your Air Fryer is a smaller model you might not be able to cook that much at once.
Prepare two bowls, one with beaten eggs and the other with a mixture of the almond flour, Fish Rub, and a little freshly-ground black pepper.
Set Air Fryer to 390F/200 C. Preheat the air fryer if needed. We sprayed the Air Fryer basket with non-stick spray.
When you’re ready to cook, dip each piece of fish first into the egg and then into the almond flour mixture, sprinkling almond flour over with your fingers so the fish is lightly coated. Lay the fish sticks in the Air Fryer basket as you coat them.
Cook the fish 10-12 minutes, starting to check after about 7-8 minutes minutes to see if you need to rotate the fish. (We turned them over once but I’m not sure it was essential because the Air Fryer circulates the hot air around the food.) At 10 minutes check to see if you need a bit more time.
Fish is done when it feels firm to the touch and is lightly browned on the outside.
Serve hot, with Tartar Sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
If this makes more than you’ll eat at one time you can refrigerate the fish and reheat in the Air Fryer.
You can use the ingredients from this recipe and the cooking instructions for Whole Wheat Panko and Almond Crusted Oven-Baked Fish Sticks to cook this in the oven without an Air Fryer. (Notice that recipe is not low-carb so be sure to use these ingredients for Low-Carb fish sticks!)
Notes:
We loved this recipe with my Ultra Easy Double Dill Tartar Sauce, but no judgements here if you prefer to just buy a purchased tartar sauce. Check the label though because some tartar sauce has added sugar.
I absolutely love Szeged Fish Rub, and use it any time I’m cooking fish, but there are many brands of good fish rub that will work in this recipe.

Low-Carb Diet / Low-Glycemic Diet / South Beach Diet Suggestions: Easy Low-Carb Air Fryer Fish Sticks are a great dinner idea for low-carb diet plans, including Keto. Almond Flour is not allowed for Phase One of the South Beach Diet, but this would be great for the other phases.
