SERIAL KILLER

            Jeffrey Dahmer is an American serial killer who killed 17 men from 1978-1991.

            Dahmer’s first killed in 1978, aged 18 when he picked up hitchhiker Steven Hicks, 18 and lured the man to his house so they could drink and listen to music. When Hicks went to leave, Dahmer killed him with a dumbbell. In 1979, he enlisted in the US Army and raped two soldiers and he was discharged. He was working at a Chocolate Factory in Milwaukee in 1985 when he started going to gay clubs. He started giving sleeping pills to his victims, then raped them and then started killing them.

            Dahmer was living with his grandmother until she kicked him out due to him bringing men home at all hours at night and she didn’t like the weird odour coming from the basement and garage. Dahmer found an apartment, the next day he was arrested for drugging and raping a boy aged 13.

            In 1991, Dahmer met Errol Lindsey, 19, who wasn’t gay. He lured him to his apartment, drugged him and drilled a hole into his skull and poured hydrochloric acid into it. Lindsey woke up complaining of a headache and asked what the time was. Dahmer then killed him. Residents who lived in the same apartment building, complained to the manager about the bad smells coming from his room as well as the sounds.

In 1988, Dahmer met Knoerak Sinthasomphone, 14, who he drugged and assaulted him in his apartment and then drilled a hole into his skull and injected hydrochloric acid into him. He led the boy into his bedroom where he fell unconscious; in the room was a different victim who was lying on the floor. Dahmer continued drinking and went out to buy more alcohol. Dahmer found Konerack the next morning sitting naked on the side of the street and three women were with him. Dahmer told them that Konerack was his friend and attempted to lead him back to his apartment. The women told Dahmer they had called emergency, two police officers approached the group, and Dahmer told them that the victim was his boyfriend who had too much to drink. One of the women didn’t want him to go back with Dahmer as she noticed he was bleeding, but the police told her to shut up. The police took the two men to Dahmer’s apartment, they noticed a strange smell from inside his apartment but then left and Dahmer killed him straight away.

            Dahmer was arrested when one of victims escaped and led the police back to Dahmer’s home. In 1991, Dahmer lured Tracy Edwards, 32 to his apartment. Edwards noticed a foul smell in his apartment and boxes of hydrochloric acid on the floor. After small talk, Dahmer asked Tracy to looked at his tropical fish, when he did so, Dahmer handcuffed one of his wrists. Dahmer then asked Tracy to go to the bedroom to pose for photos, in the bedroom there were nude male posters and Dahmer was playing the film The Exorcist III. Tracy also noticed that Dahmer had a large blue drum in the corner of his bedroom with a bad odour coming from it. Dahmer noticed many red flags and planned on escaping, he told Dahmer he needed to use the bathroom and told Dahmer he wanted to sit in the loungeroom where there is air conditioning. The two went back to the living room, and he waited until Dahmer lost his concentration and jumped up and said he needed to use the bathroom; he punched Dahmer in the face, and ran out the front door which was unlocked.

At 11:30 pm that night, Tracy flagged down two officers who were at the end of the street and told the police what had happened to him. Tracy agreed to take the police to Dahmer’s apartment, when they arrived Dahmer invited them in and wouldn’t explain to police why he handcuffed Tracy. One of the police officers noticed that the key to the handcuffs was on Dahmers bedside dresser in the bedroom, Dahmer attempted to prevent the officer from going in there. The police entered the room and noticed a large knife under the bed and his drawer which is opened which contained photos of his victims. Dahmer attempted to fight the police, but they were able to overpower him and cuffed him and called police in for backup. The police then opened the refrigerator and investigated the rest of the apartment where they found parts of his victims.

            Dahmer was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. In 1994 he was beaten to death by another prisoner. He was at first placed under solitary confinement, but with Dahmer’s consent, he was placed in a less secure unit. He then turned to Christianity, urged on by his father. Dahmer’s family members remained in contact with him. He was then killed by two prisoners in the bathroom. Dahmer’s possessions were destroyed as well as his apartment in 1992.

Zed started that way; growing up in a hard-headed, determined environment that raised children with a heavy hand a less coddling. Businessmen with a violent tongue and a knack for telling stories. 

    The eldest Movska of three, he found that his interests and theirs differed, subjects that were not where his talents laid. Not quite the epitome of the rebellious teenager, but certainly aware that he was not talented with the gifts required for Movska Media.

   The fear of getting caught never seemed to bother him, a man detached from the terrors that most find troubling, he finds empty. Brushed aside like it’s the normal, that running a tiny operation in his youth isn’t problematic behaviour; doesn’t see that watching acid burn isn’t something pleasant to be fascinated with, not at least, to the degree Movska does. Wits and natural smarts kept him in the shadows, developing substances that could do everything he knew from the day he nearly lost an arm. 

   Chemicals can be helpful in the right hands or truly lethal; it’s all about the dosage. 

    Enrolling and studying pharmaceutical science at Columbia, Zedekiah had a complicated relationship with anaesthesia and its properties; he’d mastered the art of levelling pain and a little too often did his drug knowledge come in handy for something a little darker than simply drug manufacturing and distribution, for the first time then, he’d been witness to how easily he and his creations can become an invisible killer.

    Then it wasn’t just once. 

    And it made some fantastic headlines in the papers.

    Any city, in any country, has its degree of shady dealings. When his family branched out outside Europe, he ended up in New York for his continued study, a hotspot and fairly notorious for its underworld; operating like a network, challenged by few; rivalries born of blood feuds and a structure that is unafraid to put civilians in the crossfire. It suits Zedekiah’s ideals well, small time drug maestro in a city that runs on its own set of rules. A man with a name too linked to a status; a front that an alias is fast formed.

   New York, during the ending years of his studies; when the breakthrough of where Zed put both feet in the operational world of some of the darkest people in the city birthed Zlotoska as a name whispered through the darkness. A man capable of dealing the things that aren’t mainstream; niche complicated personal recipes as carried from Russia when he first got a taste for chemistry and pharmaceuticals, distributed in quiet small waves. A ripple effect one would say, word of mouth the viper that snatches lives. 

    Making a name for drug dealing in New York City, with the way the Cartel has its claws in everything is like playing a chess on a board with only the king in play. Zed knows it, never buries himself in it when he’s a Movska with credentials and a name unblemished on paper. 

    Playing in the black market remains to be a game and eventually, a skill like that never stays as silent as those might wish it to. Not when there’s an even more powerful and quiet force laying in the depths of the underworld that preys on gifted individuals with criminalistic tendencies. 

   Zed Movska; invisible killer; master of manufacturing. He doesn’t so much mind or care for the name itself, doesn’t change that he remains a specialist in his chosen field; veteran in the chemistry world and ever an irritant in any conference for calling out those factually wrong.

Science is all about being prepared to be proven wrong. Zed’ll be that for all. 

   A doctor in his own right and able to patch-up when necessary, he’s a physician that hides how capable he is in doing everything but. Zedekiah can play surgeon in some cases but he prefers to leave little to no trace of anyone he treats. "It started with a man named Professor Carl Woods. He was a brilliant geneticist and biologist. He wanted to accomplish so much in life, but the most important thing he wanted to do was to leave a legacy that can enjoy his accomplishments when he passed. Someone he wanted to bond with, he wanted an heir. I don't know why he didn't get married or adopted a child, but Professor Woods wanted to create a child of his own from his own DNA. So he created his child, a clone of sorts but it had genetic makeup from other people so it didn't look exactly like him but had similar physical features to the man. Professor Carl Woods had a home near the college where he worked so everyday he took his child to the labs to monitor his health and educate him there and every night snuck him home to sleep. He took care of the clone and treated him as his own. He also kept the clone a secret for fear of greedy investors and other scientist treating him like a science experiment, or fear for himself for getting arrested for his actions."

"Becky this was the 70s and 80s. Cloning was new and science with genetics wasn't always...a legal practice back then as it is now. But unfortunately for most people, the more illegal something is, the more popular and desired it becomes. So anyway, some years later, Professor Carl Woods hired on an assistant, a college student who was majoring in science, to work with the professor on his public experiments. The clone, which the professor called Gene, got curious about the assistant and ran into him one day. The assistant was surprised by this man who he never seen before who called himself Gene Woods. Of course when Professor Carl Woods found out he was upset with the clone and just about threatened the assistant to keep quiet. Well Carl Woods was astounded that it was the first time he heard Gene call anyone friend and realized he never really got a chance to let his son socialize with others even though he was trying to protect him. So he finally let Gene and his assistants hang out in the labs when the assistant was on break and they wound up becoming the best of friends. The assistant taught Gene about the outside world that his dad promised to introduce him too when he was in his 20s and was ready to live out there without drawing attention. They did normal stuff and Gene had moments where he forgot he wasn't a normal human. Sadly things change. One day government officials barged into the lab. One man offered to buy Gene from Professor Carl Woods for a significant amount of money to give them Gene and for the scientist to work for them creating more clones like Gene."

"Why were they so interested in Gene?"

"What Professor Carl Woods did not realize until sometime later after creating Gene was that Gene had unique adaptability skills. Woods could have spliced his son's DNA with other non human DNA and Gene could continue on living a full life while adapting to his new traits. These skills also meant that Gene could get hurt badly but would not suffer the same results as most people. Now Professor Carl Woods of course refused to do so and demanded that they leave his lab this instant. A few lackeys of the government official and some armed men soon attacked the professor and dragged him away while he was bruised and beaten up. The assistant then tossed some flammable chemicals together and started a fire which caused a distraction which allowed the assistant to take Gene and tried to escape. While they were running, one of those armed men ended up trying to shoot at Gene, the assistant jumped in the way to save Gene's life and splashed hydrochloric acid from a beaker on the shooter's face. Gene was horrified and shocked what happened to his friend and tried to save him. His friend told Gene to save himself. That bullet hit a vital artery apparently and there was no way the assistant would have survived in time. So sobbing and with a heavy heart, Gene escaped the lab through an old passage way Gene showed him that was once used for distributing alcohol through prohibition in the 1920s to the 1930s. Gene got outside and was only a few yards away when the lab exploded in a blaze possibly due to hitting some flammable gas tanks. Gene never saw those government agents again. He never saw his father or his first real friend ever again as well."

Dr. Two Brains paused, trying to hold back tears after telling this story to his daughter. A tale he wished he didn't have to relive again. Becky stared at her father with shock and horror and grief at that tragedy. She started to gather clues from that tale. "So that assistant was.." Becky began to hesitantly ask.
