Since I have five big ships going on in my AU, I thought it would be a fun idea to dedicate a week-long event to them. This, folks, is Big Bright Ship Week.

If you guys would like to participate, but you need more time to prepare, I can move this event to November 13-19.

Foxodile and Frock are canon ships, Unimabel is an OC x Canon ship, and Spicella and Treymogen are OC x OC ships.

You don’t have to be a longtime follower of Big Bright World, or have my OCs’ entire lore memorized to participate. You can use their fake wiki pages as references:

You also don’t have to do all three of the prompts I listed for each ship. Those prompts are just to help give you inspiration; they’re possible ideas that you can do. You don’t even need to do any of those- you can come up with your own ideas.

The last two days are both free spaces. On those days, you can do anything else you want with the five ships listed above, or you can draw any of your other Unikitty ships (like Eaglecreeper, for instance). Or, you can show me which of the other characters in Big Bright World you ship, if anyone. I’d love to see your headcanons for them!

You can submit anything you’d like. If you’re drawing something, you can use whatever style you’d like, whether it’s the show’s style or your own.

There are, of course, a couple of don’t’s…

No NSFW. That won’t go over well.

No pedophilia, incest, or ships with large age gaps.

No ships that glorify or romanticize abuse or non-con.

No shipping Swanna, Celina (Spike’s mom) or Pepper with anyone. Swanna and Celina are both aspec, and Pepper wants to stay single.

Shelltop once forgot his whistle and so during one sporting event he either shouted loudly (with his high-pitched voice) or blowing a raspberry.

Marcella loses her glasses so much that she will have to look for them the way Velma does from Scooby Doo.

Waterlily does not strive for a romantic relationship in the near future, but she sometimes likes to read romantic stories.

Shelltop does get all shouty when he's irritated. So, when he forgot his whistle that day, he screamed a lot. He screamed VERY loudly to make sure people could hear him. So much so that Spike had to show him tips for taking care of his voice.

That's not quite true. Marcella's weak points do include being reckless and impatient, but she's not clumsy. So, she doesn't lose her glasses, at least not that often.

I'd say that's true. I don't plan to give Waterlily a love interest, and I've never really thought about her having one. I can see her reading those, though.

Man, our trip is going by so fast. Here we are at Day Four!

We’ve now reached the days centered around the OC x OC pairings seen in the Big Bright World AU. Today, we’re diving down into Marevi to see Spike and Marcella, or Butterpearl, as she’s colloquially known. Their ship is what I like to call Spicella, or Butterspike.

How many more times can I draw Spike performing someplace while Marcella looks on? But yeah- I did the Singing on Stage prompt, because Spike loves to sing for Marcie. She’s sitting at a front-row table at The Painted Shoal, a dinner theater, nightclub-type restaurant that Spike and his theater friends like to perform at. Marcella’s made time to see him after a long, fun day of adventuring, and she’s imagining them dancing together. I took influence from Sway, the latest addition to my Spicella playlist. Marevian dancing heavily emphasizes the arms.

Are you also going to have Spike break into song, or maybe turn things around and have Marcella do it? Can you come up with a scene of one protecting the other, or them protecting each other from something threatening? Will you show them lovingly kissing, as they often do? I love these two so much, so I just can’t wait for you to show me!

Happy Valentine’s Day, people who observe it! I really wanted to participate in Fluffuary with Big Bright World’s ships!

Imogen’s favorite things include cloud watching, flying kites and stargazing. She’s gonna meet an elf who loves doing that last thing.

Normally, it’s Marcella who initiates or gives a kiss. But Spike, being the romantic guy he is, WILL gladly start or give one whenever he’s feeling it.

Imogen eventually goes on a trip to Charm Valley with some of her friends to visit their relatives and connect with their familial roots. Here, Imogen is seeking to improve her prowess in magic, and she asks Trey to help her out. When she was trying to cast a more advanced Light spell, he surprised her by offering her a tip, seemingly out of nowhere.

Unikitty knows all her kingdom's citizens by name, and she's friends with all of them. But, she didn't meet Mabel until she and Hawkodile were on a detective-style mission. A former foe of Hawkodile claimed to have a change of heart, but was doing some pretty suspicious things. One of those things happened to be going on near Mabel's house. She and Unikitty quickly hit it off; upon meeting each other, they found that they had lots in common.

Lee met Swanna when she picked him thinking he'd be a road snack. He wished her well on her journeys at first, but once the two knew each other better, he decided to travel with her. Eventually, they became best friends. Swanna hasn't told him she's romance-repulsed yet, but she's afraid that he'll think less of her.

Sgt. Wolf's mom works as a maid in Sunstone Suites, and her former crush Gaspard's grandpa is the receptionist. The kids played with each other while their parents were at work. It didn't work out, though, and Sgt. Wolf says that she never really liked him anyway.

Marcella and Spike met when they were preteens/young teens. Marcella came over to visit Shelltop and Waterlily because her mom made jewelry for Waterlily's parents. Spike, who was very, very shy then, hurriedly swam up to the window when he knew Butterpearl would be there, and they'd wave at each other. The more Marcella visited, the more she and Spike talked with one another, developing a very close friendship over the years. 

Master Cupid has an entire list of crushes (and exes). No matter who they are, she's met all of them by scoping them out and then introducing herself without telling them about her plans to snag them. The way she introduces herself depends on what she’s discovered their type is.

I imagine that Kira visits the Unikingdom at some point. During her visit, she gets charmed by the tap-dancing butterfly via a dance sequence.

These are what Marevians think of when they think of tacky tourist outfits. Either it’s land people with diving gear and obnoxious swimsuits, or sea people with bad examples of Sunken Treasure’s mermaid style.

I had the idea that, in the far future, Spike and Marcella would go on lots of trips together.

Dead Brick’s Hand is the Botanian band that wrote Quoth the Penguin, “Nevermore!”. Bug Wild is a nature-themed show that Marcella likes to watch with her friends.

GIVE IT UP FOR MARCELLA, aka Butterpearl! Who is your favorite fearless mermaid? I’ve probably run that comparison into the ground by this point, but you know this golden camera girl isn’t afraid of anything! I won’t stop talking about her, and GAAAAAH- I LOVE HER!!!

Marcella’s species of fish is canonically a fictitious species called a golden spot fish. But, if you want to headcanon her as a real species, such as a gem tang, then go for it!
