#I say this with no irony or spite:#One of the most baffling recurring experiences in three years of bsd fandom is people who keep following this blog with#“proship don't interact”. Or ss/kk blogs with “proship” listed in their dni.#I don't have anything against anti-proshippers. I think the debate is intellectually interesting.#I think fiction having a negative influence on reality is a valid concern to have.#But that said... How can you stand by that AND support ss/kk? Like in any form??????????#Because to me it can be either 1) They don't know what “proship” means#or 2) they think dismemberment and psychological torment and insults and repeated killing attempts are okay in a relationship#Which. They aren't. Girl if someone treats you like either Akutagawa and Atsushi treat each other dump them immediately. Seriously.#Never talk to them ever again. Even if it doesn't include the dismemberment part the rest is bad enough!#I don't know why I'm saying this.#The thought of someone at any point thinking ss/kk isn't a proship (and thus something acceptable in real life) is quite distressing for me#random rambles

do u like skk?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't really have any strong feeling for skk. It's far from being my favorite ship for both Dazai and Chuuya. I'm still mostly positive towards it and low-key root for them, but that pretty much exclusively comes from the fact that skk shippers (or at least skk shippers on Tumblr? I don't use any other social) look very chill and have always been supportive so like. I'm rooting for the people more than the characters ahah, I hope they can have what they want.
I feel like if you are very into ss/kk you can't truly like skk, and the other way around– they're just two very different brands of enemies to lovers, and if one is your cup of tea, it'll be hard you'll have strong feelings for the other as well, you know? In the end it's just a matter of tastes, I don't really think about it. Ss/kk is more of a very very long slowburn, skk is more of everything is burning! from the very start. Ss/kk is a more or less linear growing together and growing closer, while skk is a neverending back-and-forth no one can really tell how is going to end. There's also the fact that I honestly dislike Dazai too much to get truly invested in any ship involving him– I've jokingly said my main argument against skk is that Chuuya deserves better, but honestly I still stand by that. I can see the appeal in skk like this constant back-and-forth push-and-pull and I can totally see why people are into it! It's just not my cup of tea.
As for my personal perception of skk Dazai and Chuuya do love, romantically, each other, but they've betrayed each other's trust so many times, it's really hard to imagine them being happy together– and that's what I ultimately look for in a ship. (Well, Dazai betrayed Chuuya's trust. God, so many times now that I think about it. Uh. What was I saying?) The thing is, I can't see the characters doing anything but hurt each other EVEN when they don't want to, so isn't it ultimately better for both of them to go their separate ways? It may hurt, but that's probably what's best for both of them. And I also think that although Dazai has some kind of romantic feelings for Chuuya, he will never love anyone as much as he loved Oda. Sorry but uh. yeah
I do wish skk would become canon tbh– I don't think they ever will, but if I could pick one bsd ship to become canon I would still chose them, which after everything I've said is a fun thing to write down. But that's just because I find queerbating as a practice straight up cruel, and there's far too much of it in this franchise.
#Also the take that Dazai brought ss/kk together because he saw they could have succeeded in building a healthy‚ loving partnership–#where him and Chuuya had irreparably failed. I think about it an insane amount.#The only skk-ss/kk parallel / Dazai matching Atsushi and Akutagawa up theory I will ever be willing to accept.#I really like the concept of “people recognizing they've lost‚ and it's tragic–#but they're still able to find beauty in hoping other people may succeed where they've failed.”#Skk ARE broken‚ and irreparably so if you ask me. But there's still something so heartbreakingly beautiful in knowing the love /was/ there.#osamu dazai#chūya nakahara#skk#bsd#bungou stray dogs#people asks me stuff#mine#Also cool profile picture Op 🙏🙏#Thank you again for your patience!
