Incoming rant about Muzan's backstory because it's continuously bugging me. I can't stop thinking about how flat it falls. It's not good at all. It could've been so much better...like you know the feeling when you see a concept that's good and interesting but the execution makes you want to just throw yourself out of the window? That's how I feel about kny sometimes, you know.

Honestly, I genuinely can't believe we weren't given a more fleshed out backstory for Muzan. The other demons had interesting enough backstories (but they were brief...not like any other characters got that thorough of a backstory either) but Muzan's just fell short. He's definitely a horrible person (kind of. Y'know because he's a demon so that's why kind of), but like we had this glimpse on the fact he's absolutely delirious about control/power/conquering the sun, we know that and we were shown that he was weak as a human...and then what?

Just a little bit about him being born and also being desperate to continue living...when we join that to him being too weak to live as a human, it kind of makes sense. So it's a real let down that we didn't see Muzan dig himself a grave in 4k — go absolutely mad, crazy, craving to be strong because he was born weak — and honestly I would LOVE to see that. More than anything, we know for a fact no one's always "morally correct" or "morally incorrect".

It would've been so much more interesting to see the villain having tread this path for so long but there were so many ways it could have gone differently, that there was a possibility that he might've not turned out so horrible. Because other demons get to be human before being turned into demons and Muzan doesn't get that. Why? Why not? Why can't he become horrible, why can't we see him hating his weakness and going absolutely crazy?

He's the main antagonist, yet he doesn't have a backstory nearly fleshed enough. Shit, could've been poetic: he's so desperate for conquering the sun, to become strong unlike his human self, he hates humans too...but he feels the human emotion "desperacy" so much — he's damn intimate with that feeling! A human feeling which shows that he still has the human "flaws" — just like the rest of the demons, and inevitably he's the cause of his own downfall. Like picture it as domino pieces and he stomped on like forty on them which made them all fall down so much more fast than nudging a single one.

Actually, not a single backstory satisfied me, as I am a person that needs to look at all the origin stories. I need more fleshed out stuff this really isn't enough, I'm starving.

And now, a tiny rant/explaination that no one will care about but I feel like I need to bring it up or some people might have questions lol;

From what I remember I don’t think Dr. Lanyon was ever given a first name in the book, if he did have name I forgot. I know he’s been given different names throughout the years, but I’m going off of the cartoon from the 1980s, and in that version his name is Dr. Haste Lanyon. After some research, I found that a feminine name similar to that in the 1800s was Hasty, so I used that. I apologize for any confusion, and honestly I’m not sure how much I like that name so I might very well change it, but as of right now her name is Dr. Hasty Lanyon.

And before anyone asks, yes, I have read ‘The Glass Scientists’ Comics, but I wanted to make my own designs. I have nothing against the artist and the writing, it’s still an amazing comic and I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Jekyll and Hyde. (I haven’t really read in the past few years tho, I got caught up in life and found other interests. If I felt like going through three years worth of comics I’ve missed, I’d probably start reading it again, but alas I don’t feel like it lol. I still recommend it tho, it has a great storyline and a beautiful art style)

Okay so I've recently become hyperfixated on Top Gun and then yesterday I remembered an episode of My Little Pony in which Rainbow Dash is invited to the Wonderbolt Academy where she and another pegasus hit it off until they're told to fly in pairs and Rainbow Dash is all cocky and confident in her skills that she would be picked as the lead pony until she learns that she's the, uh, wingpony instead

So, in looking through different deities that I could match up with the Critters, I have come across a few fun myths and/or things the ancient Greeks believed.

One interesting one was that, while the sun was out during the daytime, it wasn't the source of it, hence why there was a goddess to represent the daytime.

And, like, just imagine Catfeine not waking up in time to disperse Catnyx's night. And then there's the sun just out, against the night sky.

Also, while I don't have a Selene, I did find a a version of her story with Endymion and it was that she'd ask her brother to drive her chariot, while she went to visit him.

Just imagine how annoyed Dogday would be; just spent the whole day driving his own chariot and now his sister wants him to take over her duties, while she goes to stare at her own sleeping beauty.

Only thing that makes it worth it is that he gets to see Catnyx without Catfeine's commentary.
