before it felt like a sin, ch. 2
ch.1
pairing: Sebastian Sallow x f!MC
word count: 6900
summary: Eloise never wanted to be different.
And yet, her differences are what have defined her life up until this point: growing up as a squib in one of the most prominent wizarding families, being exiled to muggle society, and then attending Hogwarts at the age of sixteen.
She finds herself thrust into the life she should have been prepared for from birth but was denied. As she navigates this new life and her new precarious position in her family, she must come to terms with the fact that maybe what she dreamed of her whole life isn't turning out how she ever expected it would.
a/n: here's chapter 2!! I just wanted to add these amazing beautiful drawings I look back on allllllll the time, by @kay9leo đ„č𫶠I LOVE YOU SO MUCH !!!!! đđđđđđ
I also want to reiterate that this fic is REALLY CANON DIVERGENT!!!!! I will NOT be following the gameâs plot at all really with this (it really starts to diverge around chapter 6/7 maybe I donât remember), and I donât see Eloise as the gameâs MC either.
Things were definitely not going as plannedâŠnot that Eloise had really known what to expect. Almost from the moment the portkey had brought her to meet Professor Fig, it seemed like everything had gone from bad to worse.
And it had all started out so well. He had handed her the provisional wand, and upon contact the magic coursing through her had been exhilarating. Finally Eloise was able to experience what she had dreamed of for so long. All too soon, however, she was putting the wand to use in ways she hadnât imagined. Watching Mr. Ospric die had made her blood run cold but then she didnât have the luxury of processing the shock as so much was happening at once and there was a dragon and death and thenâŠanother portkey? Before she knew it, she was fighting some sort of sentient guardians in some mysterious Gringottâs vault and there was concrete proof of the goblin uprisingâŠit was simply too much to take in at once.
Now, she was standing in front of the ornate entrance to a room Professor Fig had called the âGreat Hallâ. He checked the pocketwatch inside his robes again, and muttered (more to himself than anything) âhopefully the sorting is still going onâŠâ and then in a louder voice as he glanced at Eloise - âcome along then, young Eloise!â
He peered more closely at her then, taking in her pale appearance and added in a kinder tone, âIâm sure youâre hungry. Weâll just head in and get you sorted into your house, and then an early night for the both of us. Donât worry about the things that were lost in the attack - Iâm sure one of your new housemates will share her things with you until they are replaced.â
With that, he pushed open the doors and ushered her in. In any normal circumstances, Eloise was sure that she would have been absolutely in awe of the breathtaking appearance that greeted her. It was simplyâŠfor lack of a better word, magical. The ceiling was enchanted to look like the night sky above the castle, stars glimmering through the wispy purple clouds that covered the ceiling. There were thousands of candles floating in the air, illuminating the hall in a soft, golden light.
She couldnât focus on any of that.
As soon as Fig opened the double doors, the low chatter that filled the Great Hall slowly faded as everyone turned to look at who had entered. Eloise froze. Hundreds of faces all staring at her, filled with curiosity.
Judging her.
They must all know that she was a squib and didnât actually belong there.
No. She had proved her magical capabilities earlier that day, albeit in a different manner than she had expected. She deserved to be here just as much as they did.
The teacher at the far end of the hall was saying something and the students surrounding her had begun to whisper amongst themselves. There was so much buzzing in her ears that she didnât hear a word that was said. Then, a familiar voice - how in the world could it still be familiar after so much time? - broke through the fog and her head turned sharply to the side at the noise.
âEloise?â
Her gaze met familiar hazel eyes as Leo quickly stood up, taking a step towards her before he caught himself and stayed where he was. If the shock hadnât already been apparent enough in his voice, one look at his expression told Eloise everything. He hadnât had any idea that she had been accepted to Hogwarts. After she had been burned off of the family tree by her mother, it was like she didnât exist anymore. Of course he hadnât known that she would be there.
Leo had changed since Eloise last saw him. Of course he did, she thought to herself. It had been five years, after all. The same unruly black curls, same eyes. And yetâŠhe almost seemed a stranger to her. He was taller, face more angular and defined than it had been at thirteen. Voice deeper. But, the expression of vulnerability and guilt written all over his face was something she recognized well. It was the same expression that he had had the last time he saw her, the face she sometimes saw before falling asleep. Just as quickly as it flashed across his face however, it was gone, hidden behind a stony exterior. His expression hardened and he sat down just as quickly as he had stood up, quickly averting his eyes. The people around him were looking between them curiously, but before Eloise could even begin to process this new situation, she felt a gentle push on her shoulder.
Professor Fig had been talking to her. ââŠthe Sorting Hat. You need to go up and get sorted into your house.â
She looked up at him and realized that he was gesturing to the front of the Great Hall, vaguely recalling how Leo had described the sorting ceremony in his first letter home from Hogwarts. Everyone was still staring.
Well, let them, she thought. Eloise tossed her braid over her shoulder and lifted her head high, straightening her posture in the meantime. Did it matter if everyone was staring at her? She determined that if people were going to be whispering about her, speculating about her, she would give them something to talk about. About the girl who was admitted in her fifth-year at Hogwarts. The girl who surpassed them all.
Eloise shook off Professor Figâs hand and walked to the raised platform, where there was a stool and a professor waiting with an ancient wizarding hat in her hands. As Eloise sat down, a semicircle of professors behind her and the tables of students in front of her, the hat was placed on top of her head. It was so formless and well-worn that the faded fabric slid over her eyes and she was surrounded by darkness.
HmmâŠinteresting, a voice purred in her mind. Eloise jumped at the sound. Donât worry, dear. I wonât hurt you, although I suppose that not everyone would say that. My, my. You have had a rough go of things, havenât you?
Itâs not often I get to sort a new fifth-year student. She realized that it was the hat talking to her. Always much more interesting, you see. The first-years are always fun because I get to see their potential and who they will turn out to be, but even that can be fallible sometimes. People are shaped by their experiences.
An older student, though? Someone closer to the person they will be, with more experiences that have shaped them? Oh yes, these are the ones I like the most.
Wait, thought Eloise. Youâve sorted others like me before?
Oh yes. A pause. The voice purred in her ear. I can see the hunger for knowledge in you. ButâŠRavenclaw seems too simplistic. Behind the intelligence lies great ambition. A desire to prove yourself. Prove you belong. Yes, you may have had a rough life but you have managed to use whatâs around you to your advantage. So, you must be aâŠ
âSLYTHERIN!â
Eloise started at the sudden shout, realizing that it must have been out loud. As the hat was pulled off of her head, she could see the students at the table at the far end of the hall, the one Leo was at, break into furious whispers amongst each other. The teacher with her smiled kindly and pointed Eloise in their direction. âThatâs the Slytherin table, dear. Once you sit down, we can begin eating.â
Eloise got up numbly and slowly walked towards the table. The whispering got louder as she neared it, and the students kept shooting her glances. Most seemed simply curious about the new, older student who had just been sorted into Slytherin, but others looked at her with hostility. Two students moved aside and motioned to her.
âFigured you would rather sit with us than the first years.â
The girl who spoke gave her an appraising look, taking in her muggle clothing and mussed-up hair. Eloise sat down next to her, nervously smoothing her hands over her skirt. Now that the sorting was over and she was actually interacting with her future classmates, she felt exhausted and completely unable to keep up her facade of nonchalance.
âI was going to ask if you like quidditch butâŠjudging by your clothes -â
âGods, Imelda,â came a drawling voice to Eloiseâs left. âCanât you give the poor girl a break? Not even one second at our table and youâre already trying to recruit her for the team.â
The boy who spoke gave an amused look to Imelda before turning to Eloise. âYouâll want to watch out for that one - if she even gets a whiff of the fact you can fly a broom, sheâll be out to recruit -â
âItâs not my fault!â Imelda interrupted forcefully, smacking her hands on the table and leaning over Eloise to talk to him. âOur best players all graduated last year and I have it cut out for me -â
â- you to the Slytherin team,â the boy concluded, ignoring Imeldaâs heated protests. She sat back with a huff and crossed her arms. âJust ignore her. Itâs what weâve found works best. Iâm Sebastian Sallow and this is Ominis Gaunt. Two people you will actually want to spend time with.â
He stuck his tongue out at Imelda as he held his hand out to Eloise. The boy across from them snickered quietly to himself as he listened to Imelda splutter in denial. Eloise shook Sebastianâs hand hesitantly. âEloise. And actually,â she added, turning to Imelda, âI do know what quidditch is. Unfortunately, Iâve never ridden a broom though.â
That got Imelda going again, this time about how it was absolutely impossible that someone could know about the existence of quidditch without ever touching a broom. She seemed to be of the opinion that knowing of its existence meant an undying desire to learn how to play. âSo youâre not a mudblood, then? Oh, who am I kidding - of course youâre not. Weâre in Slytherin, after all. But howâŠâ
Fortunately, food started appearing on the table before Imelda could finish her thought. It was enough to move her attention from Eloise as she began to pile different foods on her plate. To be quite honest, Eloise was relieved. She wasnât sure how much she wanted to tell others about her circumstances, especially during this first night before she knew anyone. Would they think differently of her if they knew that she had been disowned from her family and presumed a squib?
Who was she kidding? Of course everyone would judge her for that. Besides, she knew she wanted to talk to Leo before revealing anything - maybe he could help her get a feel for how to approach the situation. If he wanted to even associate with her, that is. Once again, the thought passed through her mind that he could have changed through the years, just as she had. Their parents could be quite persuasive, and more often than not the two siblings had learned that it was easier to go along with them than against.
Leo had grown up with the adoration of their parents, showing magical prowess at the young age of three, when his favorite toys started following him around in a little parade. Eloise, on the other handâŠas the years passed and she still wasnât showing signs of anything at all, not even a measly show of a sneeze blowing her away, their parents started working to distance the siblings from each other. It hadnât been very effective and yetâŠwithout her presence, she could see him moving on in his life. Just as she had tried to do.
A sharp poke to her side. Eloise jumped and looked at Sebastian. âArenât you going to eat anything? You need to grab the good things before theyâre gone - itâs every man out for himself during the feasts.â
She looked around and, sure enough, the food on the plates was steadily going down. It all looked absolutely delicious - mountains of meat, bread, puddingsâŠher stomach growled loudly as she took it all in. Eloise hurriedly started putting the closest food to her on her plate, reaching over to give herself a heaping serving of mashed potatoes on the side. âThank you.â
âNo problem,â he replied after swallowing the food he was eating. âIâm sure youâve had a long day if you arrived that late to the sorting ceremony. As you walked up to the stool, Ominis and I had a bet about which house you would be sorted into. I told him, after my first glance at you, that I could tell youâd be one of us, but unfortunately, he - â
âHey! I can hear you,â Ominis said from across the table, leaning forward slightly. Eloise realized that he was blind - his eyes had no pupils at all. His gaze was unfocused but his head turned in her direction. He explained, âI could only sense your form as you walked down the Hall. And, for the record, before Sebastian can say otherwise, I said I could tell you would be a Slytherin. Will the blind jokes ever get old?â
âAs long as I have breath in my body - hey!â
Ominis had thrown a roll at Sebastianâs head which, surprisingly, hit its mark.
âI might not be able to see what just happened, but I know that Iâve just won,â Ominis said smugly, returning his attention to his plate.
Eloise just sat there, not really knowing how to react. This time, it was Imeldaâs turn to say, âjust ignore them. Luckily, we wonât need to see much more of them as the feastâs finishing up.â She wrinkled her nose in Sebastianâs direction, a gesture that was swiftly returned. Even though she had just met the three of them, Eloise couldnât help but feel happy just listening to their back-and-forth. She did feel a twinge ofâŠsomething, though, knowing that she could have been with them since their first year, if only her magic had shown itself sooner.
Mountains of dessert started to replace the remnants of the dinner: plum pudding, lemon tarts, cakesâŠit was more dessert in one place than Eloise had ever seen in her life. None of the students held back at all trying to get their favorites, especially if it was at the expense of another. The atmosphere was electric - everyone was excited to be back among their friends and catch up over everything that had happened the summer before, and Eloise was happy to just be among them.
She reached for a lemon tart, and when she looked up, she saw that Leo was staring at her intently. He looked away as soon as they made eye contact, but the moment didnât go past Imeldaâs notice.
âDo you know him?â she asked, nodding towards Leo. Eloise flushed and looked down at her plate, nodding reluctantly. She knew as soon as they went through role call the next day, everyone would know that she was a Babbit.
âYes, heâsâŠer -â
Eloise broke off, grabbing the nearest goblet of pumpkin juice and drinking the whole thing in one go. When she came up for air, Imelda was still looking at her expectantly. Eloise took a deep breath and tried continuing, but⊠âIâm not really sure,â is all that came out of her mouth.
Imelda furrowed her brow, clearly trying to figure out how that answer made sense and Eloise wasnât about to clarify for her. Although it wouldnât be long before it got out that they were siblings, she wasnât sure how much she wanted these new acquaintances to know about her at the moment. She had had enough pitying looks to last her a lifetime, and she just knew that once they found out she had been a squibâŠ
âHey Sebastian,â a pretty blonde girl said, leaning towards the group. She shot Eloise a curious glance but quickly looked back at her target. âWhereâs Anne? Is she still gone this year? What a pityâŠthe two of you areâŠwereâŠsewn together at the hip and I was looking forward to finally being the one who gets between the two of you this year.â At this, the girls surrounding her started tittering and she flipped her hair over her shoulder and pouted. âI thought there would be more of a challenge. But if youâre going to be the changed Sebastian again this yearâŠâ
âWhoâsâŠâ Eloise trailed off as she saw Sebastianâs expression. It had changed into something almost unrecognizable - at least, to someone who had only known him for all of forty-five minutes. He was looking at the girl with a mixture of barely-controlled fury andâŠsomething else that Eloise couldnât quite place. She shrank away from him as she took in his stricken expression.
âSheâs still sick,â he said shortly as he stood up. His hands bunched into tight fists and his body was shaking. Sebastian quickly turned and stormed down the hall. They all watched him go in silence; once he left, the blonde girl turned to Ominis.
âGods, whatâs his problem? So what if she misses a few days of school?â She looked around at everyone, pouting. âYou all know Iâm right. Last year he was a mess but he should be getting over it by now.â
âYou always speak before thinking, Victoria,â Ominis said tersely, getting up. âOne of these days, itâs going to get you in trouble. If you keep this up, when that happens nobody will be around to help you pick up the pieces.â With that, he strode away after Sebastian.
Eloise blinked and looked around. The rest of the students were starting to get up and slowly move towards their respective common rooms having finished their dessert, and the prefects were starting to herd the first-years along. Victoria laughed weakly and turned to her friends, effectively ignoring Eloise and Imelda as if they werenât there. âI think the summer holidays have made people extra sensitive this year. I honestly donât know what their problem is.â
âCome on, then,â said Imelda, shooting Victoria a dirty look. âLetâs head to the dorms.â
Eloise stood up and started following Imeldaâs lead. She was parting the students with ease as she walked through the crowd. Her strides were so long that Eloise had to half-jog to keep up with her. âOur common room is in the dungeons,â Imelda said, looking over her shoulder at Eloise. âThe other houses are creeped out by it, but they havenât actually seen it. Youâll see.â
Because of how quickly Imelda strode through the corridors and down the stairs, Eloise didnât have much time to take in the rest of the castle. She did however realize that they were winding through the corridors in such a way that she would be hopelessly lost if Imelda werenât with her. The two of them arrived at the Slytherin common room well before the other students due to Imeldaâs fast pace. As they entered the common room after saying the correct password - basilisk - Eloise couldnât help but look around in wonder. There was light piano music playing in the background - Chopin, Eloise thought she recognized it from her piano lessons at the muggle school. Even though the overall tones of the place were cool - blues and greens filtering through the tall glass windows and from the lamps, the checkered marble floors and columns giving off an air of cold elegance - the beautiful rugs and happily crackling fires made it all come together and seem oddly cozy. Various tables and desks were scattered around the space, and comfortable looking armchairs and couches crowded around low tables. Eloise could just picture it teeming with students studying after class or hanging out on the weekends. She knew that it was a place that could finally feel like home to her.
âI tried, Ominis,â came a hushed whisper from near the windows. Imelda and Eloise froze at the entrance to the common room and glanced at each other. âI just canât do it. I know what you and Anne told me butâŠâ
âSebastian. Anne doesnât want you to wallow and waste your time here worrying about her. I know that youâre worried for her. I mean, I am too. You know sheâs like a sister to me.â
âYou have no idea,â Sebastian interrupted fiercely. His back was hunched over and he was holding his face in his hands. âIt should have been me. I canât live with myself. With this guilt.â
âNo, you -â Ominis cut himself off as the sound of the other students filtering in started to fill the room. The boys abruptly sat up straighter, although they didnât look at each other. Oblivious to the tension between the two, a group of second-years sat on the sofa right next to them, as they excitedly caught up with each other.
âIâll show you our room,â Imelda said, turning to Eloise. âIt gets pretty crazy here the first night back from any holidays, with everyone catching up. I donât know about you, but I want to get some sleep! Quidditch tryouts are next week and I already know how exhausting it will be.â
Eloise really was exhausted, and nothing sounded better to her than finally going to sleep. The dorms seemed to be set up so that the stairs going up led to the girlsâ dormitories, and the ones going down to the boysâ. Imelda explained that it was due to the fact that boys werenât to be trusted, and the stairs would turn into a slide if any boy attempted to go up them. It wasnât something that Eloise had even considered, due to the fact that she had just come from an all-girls school, but she flushed at the implication.
As they reached the staircase, they almost crashed into Sebastian. Imelda had been marching towards the stairs with a single-minded determination and Sebastian had been heading towards his with just as much purpose.
Eloise bounced off of his shoulder. She grabbed her own, wincing slightly. He was more solid than he looked. He looked blankly at the two girls before shaking his head and realizing where they were. âGods, Iâm so sorry. Iâm just -â he gave his head another little shake and saw that Eloise was holding her shoulder. âAre you hurt?â
âItâs fine,â Eloise reassured him. She gave a small smile. âIâve had worse, itâs really nothing.â
âYeah, yeah,â interrupted Imelda. She shot Sebastian a concerned look. âGo to bed. Weâll see you tomorrow.â
Imelda shook her head sadly and the girls resumed their path. âPoor boy. He hasnât been the same since the summer after our third year. I mean, he was always kind of obsessive, but in a charming way. He was on the quidditch team with me, and always really determined to be the absolute best, always working hard to show all of the other students they donât even know half as much as he does. That sort of thing, you know? Itâs not like he was insufferable, his charm drew everyone to him.â
She held the door open and Eloise walked in. It was a cozy circular room, with five four-poster beds. A small fire in the middle of the room warmed the whole place up, and Eloise was relieved to see it. When Imelda had told her that their dormitory was in the dungeons, she had immediately pictured a dark, cold, slimy space. Only one of the beds didnât have trunks placed at its foot, and Eloise went straight to it. Her trunk had been lost in the dragon attack. She was relieved to see a nightgown laid on top of the bed and a pair of green slippers neatly lined up on the floor; she hadnât been sure what she would wear.
Imelda sat down heavily on the bed next to Eloiseâs and started unlacing her boots. She continued talking. âThen, in our fourth year, he comes to school after summer holidays. Alone. He hasnât been the same since. Nobodyâs quite sure whatâs going on with his sister, except that itâs bad. Sheâs not expected to live much longer.â
âOh my god,â breathed Eloise. âI canât even imagine.â
âMe neither.â Imelda shook her head. âHe got into trouble left and right last year, there were even rumors of a duelâŠI donât think there was a single week where he didnât have detention. I mean, I donât blame him, but - he was taken off the team! This year he better not, I canât afford to lose my best beater again.â
The girls continued chattering quietly to themselves about other topics as they got ready for the night. Slipping into their nightgowns, braiding each othersâ hair, and, finally, slipping under the freshly turned bed covers. Eloise turned towards Imelda and simply whispered, âthank you.â Although they had just met, Eloise felt certain in the knowledge that she had just made her first friend.
Imelda waved her off. âItâs nothing. Get some sleep, the first day of classes is always overwhelming. I canât even imagine starting as a fifth-year.â
With that, she rolled over and soon Eloise heard her breathing deepen as she fell asleep. She stared at the canopy covering her bed for what seemed like an eternity. The low murmurs of the other girls as they came in and got ready for bed slowly morphed into drowsy good-nights, until finally the room was silent except for the steady tick of a clock and their breathing.
As tired as she felt, Eloise couldnât stop the racing of her mind. It felt like the last few days had more action than the entirety of her life. Even though banished had, at the time, been incredibly momentous for her, it paled in comparison to finding out that she actually was a witch and had been admitted to Hogwarts. She had used magic for the first time today. The rush of power that ran through her body when she cast spells was unlike anything else she had ever experienced. It just felt right. Like some part of her that had been hidden away had finally made itself known and she felt whole for the first time. She wondered if everyone else felt that same rush, that same desire to know and master absolutely every aspect of magical knowledge. She had been given a gift that until now had felt like a pathetic little daydream and she wasnât about to waste it now that she had it.
The clock kept on ticking lazily and still Eloise was awake. She eventually got up and after shrugging on a robe and slipping on the green slippers, headed towards the common room. She and Imelda hadnât spent much time in it earlier, and she wanted to see it at least once without any people, maybe as a space just for herself.
As it was even later in the night - it must have been around three - the fire had been extinguished and the light filtering through the windows had turned an even deeper shade of emerald green. It covered the mahogany furniture with an eerie light, as if Eloise had stepped into some strange underworld instead of the empty Slytherin common room. She trailed her hand along the velvet back of a sofa, mesmerized by the stark contrast of the green highlights and black shadows as her hand moved. Lazily twirling a globe as she walked past, the room silent except for her muffled footsteps.
It was precisely the silence that absorbed her completely. Being alone had always been her favorite thing; there was just something so special about being the only person in a place, feeling as if you were the only holder of some great secret. Eloise made her way towards the tall glass windows as if in a dream, not really noticing anything of her surroundings and yet taking it all in. The feeling of being there.
When she heard the soft voice she nearly jumped out of her skin.
âYou couldnât sleep either?â
Eloise whirled towards the voice, feeling as if her heart was about to burst through her chest. The student - a male - was sitting by one of the windows. Since the only light source was the windows, his face was entirely shrouded in black. Eloise was suddenly very aware of how indecently she was dressed to be outside of her dormitory. The sudden change from complete, eerie tranquility was shattered and she wrapped her robe more tightly around her, keeping her arms hugged around her body.
âWho -â
The boy straightened up, tilting his head back toward the window and, with the aid of the green light, Eloise saw that it was Ominis.
âWhat are you doing down here, Ominis? You almost gave me a heart attack! Youâre sitting in the shadows and I thought I was alone.â
âI could ask the same of you,â he said simply, the hint of an amused smirk gracing his features. âAnd, might I add, I didnât mean to scare you on purpose. I thought you were purposely walking towards me. For all I know, it could be the break of dawn and Iâm basking in the early rays of the sun.â
Eloiseâs jaw dropped open in mortification. She had completely forgotten that he was blind. âHow did you know that I was walking towards you?â She clapped her hands over her mouth in horror, the words leaving before she could stop them. What was wrong with her? With her sudden movement, her robes had fallen open again, revealing her nightgown, but she was too distraught over possibly having offended Ominis than continuing to follow the rules of propriety. âOh Merlinâs beard, Iâm sorry. I didnât meanâŠâ
He just huffed quietly. They hadnât spoken much at dinner, and Eloise was positive that he was angry with her. Maybe he had only acknowledged her presence because his best friend had seen fit to talk with her. Growing up blind, it would make sense for him to be sensitive to any comments regarding itâŠher face was flushed with mortification and guilt, and she slowly started backing away. Eloise figured it was better to just end the whole encounter being ruder still by making a hasty retreat, than to put her foot in her mouth once again and risk offending him more.
âNo, wait,â Ominis said as soon as he realized she was walking away. His voice was choked with emotion and it seemed difficult for him to get the words out. Eloise froze and looked at him. His whole body was shaking, and she couldnât tell if he was angry orâŠ
Was he laughing?
âI might be blind, but Iâm not deaf. In this silence, I would have been able to notice if anyone had entered the room even if they were trying to be sneaky, which you certainly were not. Stay, if you want.â
Eloise hesitated, then took the seat across from Ominis in the window. She nervously smoothed her nightgown over her legs. âJust so you know, youâre completely in shadow. If you hadnât said anything, I probably would have walked right past you without realizing that you were here too.â
âIâll choose a better spot to sit next time then, when I canât fall asleep in the middle of the night,â he replied seriously. If not for the fact that he had just been teasing her, she would have thought that he was really taking what she said into consideration. âYou never answered my original question. You canât sleep?â
Eloise shook her head, then quickly added, âno. So much has happened these last few daysâŠmy brain always has a hard time turning off. Especially after a day like today.â
Ominis hummed in understanding, tilting his head towards her. The green light filtering through the water danced over his gaunt features, making his cheekbones and the dark circles under his eyes more prominent. His pupil-less eyes glowed eerily in the light. âI can only imagine. You arrived late to the sorting, and your aura was very unnerving as you stepped into the Great Hall. I immediately knew something was extraordinary about you.â
âMyâŠaura?â
âYes. I might not be able to see, but my wand does it for me. Itâs hard to explain butâŠI can sense the people around me. I canât make out features, but everyone has their own unique aura radiating from them. Yours isâŠdifferent.â
Different? It must have something to do with the fact she hadnât had any magical ability until recently. Maybe it was stunted orâŠmaybe her aura was different due to the stress of the day.
âI saw someone murdered in front of me today,â Eloise blurted out before she could stop herself. Ominis didnât look surprised by her sudden outburst, he merely remained still as he waited for Eloise to continue. âIt wasâŠshocking. A dragon came out of nowhere and just ripped our carriage in half, taking Mr. Osric with it. The worst part isâŠIâm-Iâm shocked because it happened. But Iâm not sad. I donât feel the horror I think I should be feeling, and that is more horrifying to me. When I was lying in bed, the events of today kept replaying in my mind on a loop and I kept on trying to make myself feel the correct emotions. But I couldnât. Something inside of me is broken.â
Eloise looked down at her hands, fingers wringing and untwisting together in her lap. She tried to force herself to sit as still as Ominis, but it was impossible. She couldnât believe how easy it was to unload all of this onto a stranger, but he didnât seem to mind listening. There was silence for a few minutes, but it wasnât an uncomfortable one. Eloise peeked at Ominis from under her lashes. The boy appeared to be deep in thought.
âI couldnât sleep either,â he finally said. âItâs normal for me, though. I also have a hard time turning off my thoughts, especially at night. This little corner of the common room feels like mine, in a sense. Iâve been coming here to think since I was a first-year. Maybe I subconsciously chose this place because, if youâre right, itâs more hidden than the rest. Nobody will see me if theyâre sneaking around late at night, and itâs so peaceful.â
âThat I can agree with,â said Eloise. âI actually came down here to see what it was like when itâs empty. I donât quite know how to explain it, but this place already feels like home to me. A far sight better than the place I left behind. Places.â
âIf you want me to leave, Iâm fine with giving up my hiding place for a worthy cause.â
âNo,â Eloise said quickly. âIâŠI like having you here. With me. It means I donât have to be alone with my thoughts.â
Ominis smiled and tilted his head, not quite looking at her in that odd way of his. âItâs nice, talking to you. Most people avoid me. I canât imagine why.â
Eloise huffed in quiet laughter. They sat in silence for a while longer, until Ominis broke it again. âYou donât have to answer if you donât want to. ButâŠam I correct in guessing that you and Leo Babbit know each other?â
Eloiseâs breath hitched in her throat. She still wasnât sure how much of her past she wanted people to knowâŠbut she also knew that as soon as the day broke the castle would be swirling with rumors. And, as much as she hated the thought, the truth would come out one way or another. She had been lucky enough so farâŠher name hadnât been said at the sorting due to the unusual circumstances. But, come morning, everyone would put the pieces together once her name was called out by a teacher.
She could test the waters with someone like Ominis, who seemed like the sort of fellow who would take it in stride.
âIâŠlike I said, you donât have to tell me,â Ominis said softly.
âNo! No, itâs fine,â Eloise assured him. âItâsâŠcomplicated. I would prefer if it never came out butâŠif the school I was at before is any indication, everyone will know by lunch tomorrow regardless of if I say anything or not.â She took a deep breath, steadying herself. âMy full name is Eloise Babbit. Leo is my brother.â
Ominis showed no reaction. It gave her the strength to continue.
âI was rejected by my family. As the years went by and I still wasnât showing any signs of magic, I was ignored by my parents in favor of Leo. When my eleventh year came and went without any acceptance letter to Hogwarts, I had to come to terms with the fact that I was actually a squib. Up until then, I had held onto the hope and the day I lost that, I lost everything. I was banished and burned off of the family tree, like I never existed. Until a few days ago, I was learning how to become a perfect muggle wife at one of their horrid finishing schools. My family had already prepared a marriage for me to a prominent muggle family, reasoning that I could at least give them important connections.â She spat that last word out. Even speaking the words was a bitter reminder of the life she had almost led. âBased on Leoâs reaction, he definitely didnât know that I had been admitted to Hogwarts. I donât even know whatâs worse: if my parents knew and decided not to tell him, or if the fact that I was burned off the family tree means that they wouldnât have received a notification.â
She stared at her hands again. What was it about this boy that made her want to unload everything to him? Yes, he had asked her about it, but she still felt guilty for talking to him at all. Like somehow, telling him would make it his problem as well.
âIf thereâs anyone in this school who understands the horrors of oneâs family, itâs me,â he said. Eloise looked up at him in surprise. He chuckled quietly, as if he could see her expression. âMy family are direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin. Absolutely stark-raving mad, pureblood fanatics. Weâve gotten quite reclusive in the past hundred years or so, and donât have much contact with the outside world. Your familyâs inbreeding resulted in fear of giving birth to a potential squib. Mine, in the form of a useless, blind son who has no interest in continuing their crazy beliefs. I guess you could say we are two kindred souls. Maybe thatâs what your aura was trying to tell me earlier this evening.â
âI guess so,â Eloise replied. Both could tell that the other wasnât saying everything on their mind, but she wanted to give him the same comfort he had offered her and decided not to pry. âThank you, Ominis.â
He inclined his head towards her and then moved his unseeing gaze to the large stained glass window. They sat there for quite some time, at least it felt that way to Eloise. The passage of time seemed not to exist as she and Ominis sat there, deep inside their own thoughts. Formless shadows danced behind the window, their regular movements helping to calm her thoughts. After what seemed like an eternity, Eloise found herself stifling a yawn.
âIt seems your day has finally caught up with you,â Ominis said, smiling softly. âI think itâs best if we head to bed. Hogwarts might be more progressive than the muggle school youâve just escaped, but if anyone sees us here together it would just further the rumors already swirling around you.â
Eloise nodded her assent and stood up slowly. She hadnât realized how much time they had spent there until she felt the stiffness in her muscles that only comes from remaining still for a very long time. Ominis also got up slowly, gracefully stretching out his long body in the process. As he stood, she saw him grab his wand out of his pocket, and it began glowing a faint red as he walked. That must be how he gets around, she thought to herself. He did say his wind has a mind of its own.
She followed him and they slowly made their way to the two sets of stairs leading to the dormitories. They paused once they were about to part. âGoodnight, Ominis.â
âGoodnight, Eloise. Iâll see you tomorrow. Or rather, Iâll sense your presence later on this morning.â He gave her a faint smile and then turned to head down the stairs leading to his dormitory. Eloise stood there, watching until she couldnât see the red glow of his wand anymore. With a yawn, she turned towards her room and soon slipped under the covers, sleep finally coming. Before she fell asleep, she had only the fleeting realization that Ominis had not actually answered her question.

Being a camgirl comes with its fair share of ups and downs, but you never expected one of the downs to be one of your unboxings from a fan going horribly wrong during a live streamâthe proof of it still buzzing between your thighs beyond your finger's reach.Â
A rush of embarrassment comes with knocking on your roommateâs bedroom door and asking him for help because youâre nearing the brink of overstimulation and canât think straight enough to get the words out. Itâs worse when he stands there and says nothingâall imposing with two tattooed arms crossed over his chestâwhile you try to get through a sentence without moaning.Â
Simon looks at you with a cocked brow and something akin to amusement as he watches you squirm in his doorway.Â
Then he finally says, âGet on the bed,â in a steady and low voice, opening his bedroom door wider.
You fidget under his scrutinizing gaze as you settle back against his pillows, biting back whimpers with a too-hot face and sweat dripping down your back.Â
Him settling a knee on the bed makes you jump, âLetâs take a look, love.âÂ
Simon crawls up the bed, forcing your knees open, and youâre suddenly very aware of how broad and big he looks, towering over youâevery part of you laid bare for him to see. A large hand presses right below your belly button, jostling the toy inside you, and this time, you canât hold back the squeal that rips from your chest.Â
âSorry,â he murmurs, voice imperceptibly deeper, his lips twitching like heâs trying to hold back a smile. âOkay, youâre going to feel a slight stretch.â
You bite your lip. âA-alrightââ
Slight doesnât even come close to the fingers sliding into you, spearing your sensitive walls open and pressing into a spot where youâve never been able to reach with startling precision. You remind yourself that he has to do this, that heâs just beingâŠfriendly, or whatever makes the lines less blurred.Â
None of this stops the fact your lower stomach burns with the promise of another orgasm when his fingers brush against the egg vibrator before accidentally pressing it deeper inside.
âAh, there it is.â
At the sight of your scrunched nose, he asks if it hurts. You shake your head; eyes squeezed shut in an attempt to hold back the stinging pleasure racing up your spine. âN-no,â you whimper.
âRelax, okay?â
Simon doesnât comment on how youâre implying that it feels good. So good, you think, his thumb just barely touching your clit as he twists his hand to try a different angle. Then he pushes down on your belly again, and his long fingers finally grip the vibrator.
âOh!â you moan at the feel of it dragging down your front wall, your fingers gripping the sheets.Â
He has to tell you to relax again, his voice cracking, but you hardly hear it over your heart beating loudly in your ears. His fingers drag the toy out slowly, almost too slow that you can feel it bumping against every slippery ridge inside you.
âAh, sorry,â he says when you twitchâunapologeticâusing his thumb to rub soothing circles into your stomach. âYouâre so wet. I need to make sure I donât lose it again.â
You nod, cunt clenching down at his words.
And then Simonâs fingers curl up: your thighs start quivering, breath caught in your throat, and your jaw locks up until your orgasm ripples through you. Itâs unending, the strongest one yet, and just when you think itâs over, you feel the press of his palm against your clit.
âW-wait! Simon,â you moan, pushing at his hand. âNo more, Iâm sensitive!â
He gets you to fall over the edge one more time before finally slipping the vibrator out of you, letting it hum softly on the bed, and your exhausted body sinks into the mattress once again. Simon gathers you into his lap, rocking you back and forth.
You swallow lungfuls of air against his chest, head still spinning and walls spasming from the aftershocks.Â
He murmurs in your ear about how good you are, kisses your temple, and rubs your sides, and itâs⊠enlightening. Moments pass before you finally return to yourself, and when he pulls back, his brows furrow at your pout.
âAll good?â
You shake your head and go with honesty. âI didnât think youâd cuddle me afterward.â
He smiles, thumb flicking your bottom lip. âYou wanted me to fuck you?âÂ
Your mouth falls open. âN-noââ
Then he leans down, lips brushing against your ear: âDonât worry, love. Good girls get fucked hard.â

â SENSITIVE ft. BOOTHILL.
â â âyou get all excited for me to fix you up and call you a good boy.â
â OR
â â a sensitive spot during a repair leaves him melting into your callused little hands.
â ïž mechanic!reader, so much flirting im kind of sick, he whimpers i have an agenda, this is like 90% dialogue sorry, he wants u sooo bad. wc 1k, from this req.
âyâknow darlin,â boothill managed to breathe out through a taut jaw and clenched teeth. âyou beinâ this close ainât exactly helpinâ me focus none.â
your fingers were slow, careful, precise as they pushed a few tiny wires apart, giving view deeper inside the little panel on boothillâs throat.
the position you two stood in was one all too familiar, boothill perched on your workbench with you between his thighsâ the only new variables being your face way closer than heâs used to and your fingers proding around in his surprisingly sensitive wires.
it was anâŠodd sensation, to say the least. a small unpleasant stinging that simultaneously stimulated a rather pleasant shiver up his back with every small poke.
âtime and place, cowboy.â
you responded quietly, tone a little flat with your tease from concentration.
âcanât help lettinâ my mindâ wander, can i now?â his breath hitched a bit as you nicked a particularly touchy wire.
âif you let me finish this,â you lifted your head enough to meet his eyes, free hand gently smoothing out the crease in his brow. âiâll let you show me just how wild your imagination can get.â
boothill bit back a scruff chuckle at that.Â
âthat enough incentive for you to sit still?â
âwell, i reckon thatâs plentâ mmgh!â
a pair of mechanical hands tightly grab onto your hips as his shoulders tense, a knee-jerk result of your tweezers finding the out of place wire youâd been looking around for.
your hands paused, opting to ignore the way he audibly whimpered for raising your gaze a second time to check on him.
âyou hanginâ in there?â
boothillâs fingers flexed as they held onto you, relaxing from squeezing your pants to a more gentle cradle of your hips.
âyou know,â he swallowed thicklyâ as if his throat could even dry out, likely just a natural reflexâ âyou got a way of makinâ fixinâ me up feel real special.â
the slight waver to his voice isnât lost on your earsâ it was quite loud in them, actually.
âiâm hanginâ in fine, donât worry your pretty head none.â
carefully retracting your tweezers, you stood up straight enough to lightly push his hat up, giving view to his face and cupping your hand over a blue-hued cheek.
âwanna take a break?âÂ
he nearly had to clutch his chest with the gentle concern that laced your tone.
boothill knew he was flushed, was purposefully avoiding looking you in the eye because a few pokes to some sensitive spots had him sliding his hands to your waist like a lifelineâ not that what he could distantly feel of your skin against the synthesised nerves of his palms werenât doing much to cool him off anyway. but he didâŠrelax, somewhat.Â
he always enjoyed when youâd touch his face, getting to feel all the unique little details of you; the gentle drum of your pulse and the little calluses from your tools. it somehow always manages to make the tension in his body ebb away, draining with an exhale that lightly fans against your wrist.
he shook his head with a quiet clear of his throatâ another unnecessary function that served more as a tick than anything.
ânah, nah iâm alright.â he assured. it didnât make him any less embarrassed to be having such a reaction.Â
big bad criminal until you get a little too fudginâ touchy, apparently.
âletâs just get this finished up, yeah? maybe we can move onto somethinâ more pleasant.â
your thumb gave two gentle taps to his cheekbone before it pulled away, reaching for your tweezers for the nth time.
âthatâs my boy.â
oh how boothillâs chest bloomed at the simple praise, the endearing âmyâ that slipped in with it licking up his ribs and curling to rest along where a drumming heart should have been.
âjusâ be gentle with me, will ya sugar plum?â
âyou know i've always got ya.â
each plug or untangle of a little yellow or red cable had his systems humming, fingers occasionally curling into your hips every time a little surge left him biting his cheek a little harder.
âweâre almost done,â your voice is icing on an already cavity-inducing cake, though heâll gladly take a toothache if itâs for you. âjust a little longer.â
boothill was going fist to fist and losing with the urge to completely melt under your deft fingers.
ââŠkeep talkinâ to me,â he requested with a murmurmurmur, cautious not to move too much. âhelps me stay on tââ he had to bite back another whimper, cheek going between his teeth and eyes going to the ceiling. ââtask.â
boothill didnât miss the little tug of your lips.
âyou know, you do this thing when you get shy.â you mused quietly, breath meeting the shell of his ear. âyou bite your cheek ân look away. itâs cute.â
boothill couldnât help but let out a breathy chuckle at your deduction. he tried to regain some of his composure, though the colour in his cheeks continued to betray him.
âi donât know âbout shy,â he rumbled, keeping his voice steady as he could. âbut iâll take cute if it means i get to hear you keep sweet talkinâ me. keep this up and i might start enjoyinâ these repairs a lil too much.â
his voice was a little strained, though still held his usual humour.
âlike you donât love em already.â you teased back, gently closing the panel on his neck as it re-sealed with a small hiss. âyou get all excited for me to fix you up, call you a good boy and send you on your merry way.â
âiâm still waitinâ on that last bit, yâknow?â
you shook your head, popping his hat off his head and placing it on your own.
âgood boy,â you pinched his cheek endearingly. âyouâre all done. do you want a lolipop too?â
âthink i deserve somethinâ a lil sweeter than a lolipop, donât you sugar?â boothillâs face unknowingly deepens at the sight of you in his hat, brave words betrayed by a nervous tap in his finger and more blue to the apples of his cheeks.
âweâll save it for when youâve got a real booboo,â you took his hat off, using the brim to lightly tilt his chin up and give him a tender kiss on the cheek. for such a heavy hunk of metal, he nearly began to float.
âbut thereâs something to hold your sweet tooth for now.â
âŠ
âboothill?â
ây..yeah, sweet pea?â
âyouâre overheating.â

boy wonder
steddie | rating: t | wc: 999 | cw: none | tags: pre-relationship, steve and eddie recovering at the hospital together, eddie just had surgery, heâs a little high, fluff
for @steddie-spooktober day fourteen, prompt âbatsâ
read on ao3
âDo you think Iâll turn into Batman?â
Steve looks up from the magazine heâs been skimming through to find Eddie peering at him from his hospital bed.Â
The sight of him covered in bandages and hooked to IVs and monitors still sends a shiver down Steveâs spine. But as the days go by and Eddie keeps getting betterâ looking better, less and less like heâs on the brink of deathâ it gets easier for Steve to handle it.
Heâs surprised that Eddie woke up so soon after his surgery. The doctor said itâd be a while before the drugs wore off so Steve prepared himself to sit here for hours waiting for Eddie to wake up, just like he did after his first and then his second surgery.Â
But itâs been less than two hours since they rolled him back into his room and Eddie is already up, eyes half-lidded and words slightly slurred and nonsensical, but awake and alertâ and waiting for Steve to reply.
âUm, come again?â
âDo you think Iâll turn into Batman?â Eddie repeats, head lolling to the side to blink at Steve. âYou know, âcause I got bit by bats.â
Normally, Steve wouldnât argue about superheroes with a nerd like Eddie, but heâs read a few Batman comics in his life and even he knows thatâs not right.Â
âIâm pretty sure Batman didnât get bit by bats, Eddie,â he says with an amused chuckle.Â
âNo, but Spiderman got bit by a spider,â Eddie says, wagging his fingerâ the one with the pulse oximeterâ at Steve like what heâs saying makes perfect sense.Â
To himâ pumped full of some pretty hardcore drugsâ it probably does. Â
âOkay,â Steve says, deciding to humor him. He shifts on the chair, leaning forward so that his back isnât pressed against anything. They cleaned his wounds and changed his bandages before he came to Eddieâs room and by now the numbing cream has started to wear off and it stings. âWell, I also got bit by bats. Does that mean Iâll become Batman too?â
Eddieâs eyebrows knit together in a cute little frown. âThere can only be one Batman.â
âAnd why does it have to be you?â
Eddie thinks it over for a second before propping himself up in his elbows, eyes wide. âI dress in black! And I have bat tattoos!âÂ
âWell, I have rich parents,â Steve counters with. Itâs the one thing he knows he shares with the character.Â
âWell, my parents are dead!â Eddie says. Itâs probably the drugsâ fault that he sounds so enthusiastic about it. âI win!â
âFine,â Steve says, rolling his eyes half-heartedly, âI guess you can be Batman.â
Eddie grins, satisfied, flopping back against the bed, his hair fanning out against the pillow. âYou can be Robin,â he tells Steve, giving him a lopsided smile.Â
âSure, Eds.â
Eddie perks up and props himself on his elbows again. âHey, we should dress up as them for Halloween!â
Steve canât help but make a face. âNo way, man.â
âOh, right,â Eddie says, his smile falling, âwe wonât be friends anymore by then.â
Waitâ what?
âWhat are you talking about?â Steve asks, frowning. That makes even less sense than his drug-induced Batman musings.Â
âWell, you only hang out with me âcause weâre both stuck in this hospital,â Eddie says matter-of-factly, âbut once weâre out of here, youâll have no reason to put up with me.â
Steve starts shaking his head even before heâs done talking. He knows Eddie is only saying this out loud because of the drugs but itâs something he mustâve thought about it before. It makes Steve sad to think heâs been feeling this way for the last couple of weeks and Steve didnât know.Â
âEddie, I donât âput up with youâ, okay? Weâre friends, I like your company. Youâre like, cool and really funny,â Steve says as earnestly as he can. âAnd we saved the world together! That means youâre stuck with me, man.â
Eddieâs eyes grow wider as Steve talks. He blinks slowly at him as he processes the words before his lips stretch into a big grin.Â
âDoes that mean we can dress up together?â
Steveâs lips scrunch to the side. âYeah, no, Iâm not wearing a nerdy costume, especially one where I have to wear tights,â he says in a bitchy tone.Â
âBut youâd look so good in them,â Eddie insists and then leers at Steve, licking his lips before he adds in a low voiceâ âbig boy.â
Steveâs eyes go wide, and just like the first time Eddie called him that, he blushes and forgets how to speak from how flustered he feels.
Heâs lucky heâs not the one hooked to a heart monitor right now or the damn thing wouldâve started beeping like crazy in time with his stuttering heartbeat.Â
Heâs saved from having to say anything in response to that by a doctor coming into the room at that moment to check on Eddie, distracting him and breaking the weird tension. Itâs a good thing she doesnât pay any attention to Steve or she might ask why his face is bright red.Â
âHey, Doc,â Eddie says as she checks his vitals. The doctor hums in acknowledgment. âIâm Batman.âÂ
âSure you are, Mr. Munson,â she says in a bored tone but Eddie doesnât seem to care that she acts so dismissively.Â
His head lolls to the side and he gives Steve a dimpled grin. âAnd thatâs my Boy Wonder,â he says, eyes warm and molten as they stare at him.
Steve doesnât know why that makes his heart skip a beat or why it makes his lungs feel like they canât draw any air in.
Or why he wants Eddie to look at him like that again so desperately that heâs genuinely considering wearing those tights on Halloween after all.
Maybe he should ask the doctor for a check-up after sheâs done with Eddie, just to be safe. He thinks he might be coming down with something.

Ë Â· . bakugou katsuki x afab!reader
: ÌÌâ anal, degradation, humiliation, unprotected sex, car sex, groping, bakugou is so mean, reader is a lil perv, established relationship, choking, hair pulling, ass slapping, use of the word "daddy", anal virginity (?), no prepping
"eek!" you squeal, your hands rushing down to cover your ass. your head tilts to look behind, your face flushing at the tight of the evil blonde behind you, a wide smirk adorned on his face.
"what are you so shy for? with that tiny ass skirt you might as well be begging to be touched," he whispers into your ear, his hand traveling up the side of your thigh. your ears burn at his words, but you try to ignore his accusation, speeding up your pace to the car.
"oh~, ignoring me now are you?" he sings tauntingly, his hand suddenly wrapping around your wrist, pulling you closer to him. you breathe a sigh of relief when you see your car no less than 20 feet away, hoping he won't do anything more extreme than practically grope you in public.
"'i hope he doesn't do anything extreme in public,'" he mocks in a heightened voice, practically laughing at his own half-assed joke.
he pulls you flush to him, his mouth close to your ear. "if you don't get to the car in 10 seconds, i'm fucking you right in the middle of the side walk." your stomach drops at his words, a mix of excitement and scare building up within you. bakugou laughs like a menace when you practically jog to the car, your hands fumbling to unlock it.
he curses at you when you dumbly open the passenger door, his hand practically pushing you and throwing you into the back of the car. your heart skips a beat when he joins you, closing the door before his hands are grabbing onto your hips, forcing you to straddle him.
your lips collide with his roughly, a moan escaping your throat as his hands knead the doughy flesh of your ass. bakugou wastes no time to shove your skirt further up your waist, your body shivering when your ass meets the cold air. his fingers play with the hem of your panties, feeling the thin lacey material.
"you're such a slut," he laughs, seeing that you were wearing none other than a red thong. he rips it off you with ease, discarding the ripped material away in the car like nothing. "no 'm not.." you whine, hiding your face into his neck, drinking up his intoxicating musky scent.
you yelp when one of his hands entangle itself within your delicate locks, pulling back your head so you sit up straight on his back. "oh? so you're telling me that you wore that flimsy ass skirt just because? that you're wearing a red thong for no reason what so ever?"
you stay silent at his questions, body jolting when his other hand slaps down at your ass cheek. "tell me i'm wrongâtell me you weren't being a slut."
you jolt once more when you refuse to say anything, moaning loudly at the harsh sting. you're once again manhandled when he pulls you back in for a rough kiss, his tongue shoving it's way down your throat. your hazy eyes roll back to the back of your head at the feel of his fingers roughly exploring your ass and cunt, no note of gentleness within his touches.
"damn whore." bakugou spits out at you, treating your body like a ragdog and forcing you to sit facing away from him. your upper body is pushed against the passenger seat while your ass remains seated over his hard-on, any escaping sounds from your lips muffling into the head rest.
your cunt twitches around nothing when you feel the unmistaken sounds of bakugou undoing his belt, his hips lifting up slightly to shove his pants and underwear down just enough to free his cock from it's confines.
it lays heavily on the swell of your ass, your face heats up against the headrest, mouth salivating at the mere thought of your small pussy being fucked up by his fat cock.
only, tears begin brimming at your waterline when you hear bakugou scoff and groan. "don't have a condom, babe." he says, his hand rubbing softly on the ass cheek he spanked earlier. your heart swoons at the minute gentleness, but your core clenches and cries for release.
before bakugou could put his cock away, he's quickly interrupted by your desperate cries. "u-use my ass," you murmur out, voice so low he could barely hear you. barely, he can hear you, but the asshole within him has him smirking at your rarely seen perverse-side.
"use what?" he asks nonchalantly, eyeing your untouched hole. you squirm and whine at his teases, face reddening up with shame. you babble out incoherent sentences, much louder than the previous, but still he insists. "i don't hear you," he excuses, his fingers lightly rimming your hole.
"u-use my ass!" you cry out loudly, tears finally running down the soft swell of your cheeks. before you could beg once more, your mouth drops into a silent 'O' when bakugou presses the blunt head of your tip into your virgin asshole, the sheer heaviness and tight burn leaving you speechless.
"my girlfriend is such a perv," he groans out, his eyebrow twitching at the vice grip your ass has around his cock. incoherent babbles leave your mouth as he pushes his cock further and further past your tight ring of muscle, the two of you sighing in sync when his cock is fully sheathed within your virgin ass.
"oh. oh." you mindlessly say, your pedicured nails ripping trails onto the expensive leather of the passenger seat. "yeah? you like being fucked in the ass?" he hisses, his hips grinding against your ass.
your head nods up and down frantically, eyes rolling to the back of your head as his cock fills you up so deliciously. your ass walls stretch to the max around his cock, the only lube being his precum. it's painful, it's tight, it's burningâbut that's all the more the reason why your vision goes white as your pussy clenches around nothing, cumming to your ass getting filled by his fat cock.
"fuckâyou're so tight," bakugou groans, his eyes clenching shut as your walls tighten up around him. his hips struggle to move, behind practically held in place by the vice grip that is your ass.
you're given a mere second of break before bakugou is plunging his hips into yours, his hands move from your ass to your neck and he suddenly holds you up, suffocating you into the passenger seat. his cock drills inside your tight ass, walls tightening as he fucks you full his hands tighten around your neck with each clench of your ass, the lack of oxygen adding onto your cloud of euphoria.
"can't believe my cute little girlfriend likes being fucked in the assâw-wonder what everyone would think when they learn that my slut of a girlfriend likes to be fucked in the ass in public," he moans out, his balls slapping against your untouched pussy.
"love b-being fucked by y-your cockâ" you pathetically drool out, so high on his cock that you could barely manage a coherent sentence. bakugou's hand reaches over to your clit, watching as your eyes roll back, body twitching sporadically as you cum for the second time. your cunt practically leaks, all over his cock like expected, ass being pulled almost inside and out with the way it clenches up once more.
"katshuki! katshukiâkatshuki! lovelovelovelove youâ" you scream out into the seat, his fingers still rubbing soft circles onto your clit. "what a good bitch, you love being fucked in the ass in public?"
"yesyesyesâlove being fucked by daddy in public," you moan out dumbly, babbling nonsense love confessions as bakugou jackhammeted into you at a quicker pace as he fucked you into the seat. your body became riddled with overstimulation, tears pouring down your face like a unending river, your mouth agape, screaming repeated words of "yesyes daddy fuck me!"
"fuckfuck youâhahâbitchâi'm gonna cumâ," bakugou gritted out through his teeth, his hands gripping tightly onto your waist witg sharp snaps of his hips, he pushes his cock into you with all his weight, his cum filling you full.
"cum..cum daddy.." you mumble lowly, eyes rolling to the back of your head as your last orgasm washes over you at the feel of his hot cum filling you.
following your orgasms, the two of you sit still, panting heavily to regain your breaths. bakugou's cock remained in your ass, serving as a special plug to your dripping ass. still, his cum seeped out, leaking down to his balls and onto the leather seat below.
with a satisfied sigh, bakugou pulled out his phone, taking a memorable photo of your fucked out ass from behind.

Stanford Pines relationship HCs
(ford pines x reader) there will be smut so, 18+ below... Some angst, mainly fluff, I HC that most if not all of the pines family are neurodivergent in some way.
A/N: I had a long journey last week and all I could think about was the stans, so this will become specific... đ
Will do the same for Stanley too in the future.
Ford has a lot to catch up on when he comes back through the portal, but he won't jump into a relationship immediately, it will still take a little time, he's got a lot to adjust to in his home dimension and being with someone has not been his forte.
But once he does he's surprisingly clingy, will want to cuddle up to you, in bed, on the couch, wherever you both are. Not one for real PDA, but will be close to you and call you terms of endearment out in public, just a little less than he does at home. I HC that he'd call his partner "dear" "darling" "honey", looooves your hips and putting his arm around your waist (it's a great way to pull you in to snuggle).
Doesn't hold your hand at first but since you like him to hold your hand and give him assurance over the fact that you like his six fingers, he does. It loosens his insecurities around his hands a lot.
Gets addicted to kissing you, doesn't care whether it leads to more or not, Stanford simply loves kissing whether it's brief or a good long make out session. But he does prefer to take his time over it.
Stanford is very logical, good at patching himself up from decades of portal hopping and therefore will do the same for you if you need it, is meticulous if you get hurt in any way but also has an appalling bedside manner! Doesn't tell you if he's going to do something that will sting and tells you not to be overdramatic if you react negatively to it (you know how people can get a little angry when someone they love gets potentially seriously hurt?). And yet you know him to be a gentle man, generally touches you softly like you're made of glass (unless it's to pull you away from something dangerous), so having him take care of you can also be comforting, he'll never do something painful unless it's necessary. (Don't worry though, his brother will make you stan cakes to cheer you both up.)
Speaking of food, Ford definitely prefers his home universe food to what he had in the other dimensions, tried lots of different unusual dishes, some he even liked, but none of it can compare to his homely comforts. When not sailing and adventuring, he puts on a few pounds. Satiates his sweet tooth and caffeine addiction with mabel juice (is the only other one of the pines to like it), prefers it to coffee. Stanley swears his tastebuds must've been affected during his time away. Doesn't like it with as much edible glitter as mabel does, but this is the only deviation from the original recipe he has.
Excellent teacher, you want to learn how he does something? More than eager to teach you with a steady hand and clear pace. Will teach you regardless how to shoot his laser and magnetic guns, how to defend yourself and how to meditate (if you didn't know these already). Can get into the information and ramble like you know about a topic and then realise (eventually) that he needs to break down or explain what he means.
Despite this he also has a romantic streak, whilst he can forget everything aside from his work or adventures, including important dates, he can also be a very considerate and supportive partner and post-portal wants to include you as much as possible in his life and conversations. You can talk for hours about any and all topics and he loves to be mentally stimulated in a relationship, however that may be.
Does sometimes have nightmares and deep guilt over Stanley and is dealing with it as best as he can, likes to know he can count on you for comfort and guidance, makes him feel less panicked or paranoid after Bill. He and his brother talk things out too and these talks can go on all night into the early morning and it's best for them to have space, Ford is grateful for your patience and willingness to be involved in his life, especially as he knows he wasn't good at opening up to you when you were starting to become friends let alone a relationship.
Ford would be shy at first, but once he gets comfortable with how to pleasure you, expect this man to be kind of obsessed. That absorbing focus he can have on his projects and studies? Yeah that can be transferred to you just as easily, which can be a little intense!
You off-handendly mention something about sexual experiences, perhaps even a joke about things you haven't tried, catching his perplexed look afterwards, you say it's simply fantasy and not really something you need to experience. However what you took for confusion or slight insecurity was actually Ford processing what you said. In fact, it doesn't leave his mind and so he does something he's good at: he does some research đ
One night you might even wake up from sleep to find him sitting upright, lightly snoring, bedside lamp on, clearly fallen asleep whilst writing on his portable writing desk (it's either a gift from you or the twins, not sure which to choose!), when curiosity gets the better of you and you sneak a page out into your hands, you're faced with his attempts at organising fantasies, what he thinks you would want to try, how would you react to different stimuli or some of his own fantasies... Mainly figuring out how many orgasms he could coax out of you or how long he thinks he could edge you over time, what positions or rp you might like: he's worked it all out in a haphazard kind of way, like he's brainstorming the best approaches.
It's so plan-sexual scientific it's frank but... attractive, because it's so... him.
Whether he wakes up on his own or you wake him up, he ends up blushing, though he's not really sorry that you've found it. He's looking at you with this mix of nerves for how you'll react and new found smugness when he sees that you've been affected by what you've read... And yeah, neither of you are leaving that bed for a long time.
Basically, like a true scientist, he is down to experiment! đ He's willing to try anything as long as it's not going to seriously hurt you or it's something he wouldn't try on himself first, this is a boundary he's never willing to cross. Trust and open communication is an important thing for him post-weirdmaggeddon especially, and he's getting better at it as he goes along, so even though he often doesn't feel confident, he is infuriatingly good at aftercare and all the rest!
This means when he's not tripping over his words or flustered by you himself -he can be a damn tease at times and will chuckle to himself when you curse him out for the subtle touches he'll give you over the course of the day before pulling away. Sometimes he doesn't even know he's done it, which is evil.
Stanley will make grumbly jokes about how "you two lovebirds need to get a room!" Or about needing to move out đ
but honestly he's truly happy his brother is happy and if you get married he will sob the whole time, even through his roasting joke filled best man speech! (Cracks a joke more than once to you that you need to make Ford an "honest man" and then laughs at it himself before whispering to you that he can get the rings if you really want to.)
Will and does suffer in the warmer months because he will wear long sleeves, full length pants and or a turtle neck for the comfort aesthetic
Personality wise him and Stan are different as can be but they often sync up physically in their mannerisms or what they say, as freaky as it is cute in a way, when you are tired/drunk you can swear you're seeing double, which amuses both of them.
His favourite shared past time with you is any kind of board or card game, some of them the rest of the family will join in for, but will also love someone to play d&d&md with if you're willing! Loves to get into the details of the rules of whatever you're playing together and it can get quite heated (secretly finds your frustrated side quite attractive, as long as you're not actually angry at him).
I feel like Stanford would get into videogames as soon as he becomes more adept at technology in this dimension, likely it's dipper who is the one to introduce it to him and he loves it (nerd). Will marathon catch ups on all the movies and shows he's missed; especially the series he was into that got continued after the portal incident. You lose him to Star Wars prequels etc for at least a couple weeks of him getting his head round all the lore and how it works, may have controversial opinions and needs to work it all out, may need to contact dipper about this.
Regularly has calls with the family (mainly the twins) over video chat (and will always call it 'video calling' no matter what platform they're using), so once you're together that includes you too and be prepared to be bombarded with questions from them (your their new graunty or grunkle after all) â€ïž

Not My Man
Summary: Joel is accused of abusing you, and, oh hell no! You're having none of that!
Warnings: Swearing, injury, implied domestic abuse, use of Y/N.
Word Count: 4,132
"Ow, shit! That really stings." You wince and pull your head back as Joel lightly dabs a alcohol soaked cloth over your cheek. His hand slides behind your head pulling you back in, keeping you in place. "Quit squirming and it'll be done quicker," he tells you firmly yet softly, his big chestnut eyes fixed intently on the task at hand. You grudgingly obey, - keeping still despite the the burn of the alcohol seeping into the raw cut across your cheek - holding an ice pack over your eye on the opposite side. You just know it'll be black by tomorrow.
"How's the head? Feeling dizzy or sick at all?" It's the millionth time Joel has asked you this, and every time you have to reassure him. "I'm okay, Joel. Really," you stressed, but you can see the guilt and anger simmering within him flicker to the surface every time you try to make light of it all. "I shouldn't have let you go off alone. Fucking hell... if I'd been just a few seconds later you'd be-" Joel closes his eyes and breathes in deeply, both to calm his nerves and to avoid having to finish that sentence. Just the thought of losing you makes Joel want to rip his hair out in vexation.
"It's my fault," you try to reason, cupping Joels' scruffy cheek and forcing his eyes to meet yours. "I should have been paying closer attention. Don't you dare go blaming yourself." "You're never leaving my sight again," Joel declared, his voice low and determined. "Joel-" "I mean it Y/N! From now on when we're outside these walls I'm gonna be on your ass like your shadow!" You sigh, knowing there's no getting to through to Joel when he gets like this. So, you silently concede with a nod, mostly for his peace of mind.
After applying some antiseptic cream and a large plaster, Joel leans in to press a featherlight kiss over the sensitive gash and rests his forehead against yours, closing his eyes. "I could have lost you today, sweetheart." The ache in his voice stirred a deep ache in your chest in return. You place your hands over his own, which are now cradling your face. "But you didn't, and that's all that matters." It crushes your heart to see Joel so torn up over something no one could have seen coming, over something he couldn't have known.
But, here he is again; blaming himself for circumstances beyond his control. All you can do is comfort him and try to make him focus on the here and now and not on the "what could have been". Easier said that done, though when your mind keeps replaying that dreadful encounter. You could kick yourself for letting your guard down.
You and Joel had started to take Ellie out to prepare her for patrol duty, now that she'd turned 18. A small town about 5 miles west of Jackson seemed like the best option, given that the place mostly remained infected free at this time of year. Most of the wooden houses had collapsed in on themselves over the past two decades. Only brick buildings had survived the ravages of time and the elements, and even some of them looked to be on their last legs. Once it appeared the three of you were alone you'd proposed you split up to inspect the last few unchecked buildings, just to get it over with ASAP. The sooner you were all done, the sooner you could all get home and stop freezing your asses off out here.
Joel, of course, objected immediately but you brushed off his concern, insisting it was safe enough. Famous last words! While Joel and Ellie searched an old bank building, you'd turned you attention to a restaurant next door. You entered slowly, gun raised in front of you, head turning in every direction, ears pricked for any indication of company. The crunch of broken glass underfoot was deafening in the eerie silence.
As the moments wore on, you began to feel less tense, there being no signs of raiders or loners passing through, and if there were any infected in here, surely they'd have heard the scraping of glass as you'd entered. A thorough scan of the dining and kitchen area revealed no danger, luling you into a false sense of security. You absentmindedly lower your gun as you make your way to back room, which you assumed was an office. All you could think about was the hot bath awaiting you later on as you opened the door and walked through.
It all happened so fast after that. A ear splitting scream echoed through the room and before you could even turn to face it, you are tackled from behind, both yourself and the rotting corpse on your back tumbling over a desk and landing with a hard thud on the floor. The impact of your head hitting the ground sent the room spinning around you, but even through the haze, your body reacted instinctively, pushing the furious creature away from you by it's shoulders. It's putrid breath and brown teeth almost made you gag as you fought desperately to keep it's searching fungal tentacles away from your face.
You let out the loudest scream you possibly could, hoping Joel and Ellie would hear. Your gun had gotten lost during the skirmish so all you had to rely on right now was your own strength, which was waning by the second. Just when you felt like you couldn't hold out any longer a gunshot split the air and the infected fell to the side of you in a heap. Through the ringing in your ears you could hear Joel's frantic voice calling your name, his hands grabbing and pulling at you, checking you over for bites. "Holy shit! Is she alright? Is she bit?" Ellie asked breathlessly from over Joel's shoulder. "No, no... she's not bit. She's fine," Joel sighed in relief.
The fog in your head cleared, bringing you back to yourself and that's when you noticed how much your body hurt. A dull ache settled in your ribs where you'd landed, your head felt like it would explode at any moment and your cheek and opposite eye socket throbbed continuously. A warm, tickling sensation ghosted along your cheek. When you pulled your fingers away they were red and sticky. You can't even remember hitting your face on anything in all the commotion. "Joel..." you whimper, body trembling from fear and adrenaline. Before you could say another word, Joel pulled you into his arms, holding you against his chest in a crushing bear hug, a chorus of "You're safe, sweetheart" and "I've got you" repeating over and over.
You're snapped from the memory by Joel's weary sigh. "It's my job to protect you and I nearly failed... again." You're heart sank on his last word, knowing exactly what he meant by "again". Pulling back, you gently cup Joel's face in both hands, staring compassionately into his tormented eyes.
"Don't do that, honey. Please. It was my fault." you asserted, shaking your head. "I suggested we split up, I let my guard down. That's on me." Joel released a small, humourless laugh, clearly not about to relinquish any of the blame and it guts you; to see what your carelessness has caused. "But do you know what's all on you?" you ask, your tone softening. Joel shot you a quizzical look. You wave a hand over the front of your body, Joel's gaze following your gesture.
"Me... here, alive and well. You saved my life today. If it wasn't for you I'd be dead... or worse," you shudder at the thought. "So, you see, you didn't almost fail. You saved me and I love you for it." Joel exhaled long and slow, a small smile lifting the corner of his mouth. Joel lifted his hand to caress the back of your head and pulled you towards his face. His soft lips pressed against yours in a deep, lingering kiss. "I love you too, sweetheart, so damn much!"
The next morning as you, Joel and Ellie made your way towards the mess hall for breakfast, you can't help but notice the stares from passers-by. You were right about the black eye; the deep purple hue had bloomed overnight, the swelling causing your eyelid to slightly droop and a few bruises decorated your jaw. Even the area surrounding the bandage on your cheek was flushed red. You must be quite the spectacle right now. After collecting your food, the three of you joined Tommy and Maria at their table, as you do every morning, but this morning something felt... off.
A few times you could have sworn you'd heard yours and Joel's names mentioned in hushed tones, heads turning away from you quickly as you glance around. Joel and Tommy, being so deep in conversation, remained oblivious to the odd atmosphere, and Ellie was too busy shovelling food in her mouth - like it was her last ever meal - to pay attention to her surroundings. Maria, however picked up on your unease, also noticing the excessive looks and whispers in the hall. She looked to you, eyebrows raised in silent question, to which, you could only shrug in response.
Once you had finished your meal, you got up to take your tray to the used area, setting it down on the pile. Just as you turned to walk away you hear your name being called by Millie - one of the serving ladies. With her short, dumpy stature and short grey hair, she gave off the classic warm granny vibe. She's also a renowned gossip around town. "Are you okay, dear?" she asked in a breathy whisper. "Um... yeah?" You weren't really sure what she meant at first. When you noticed her concerned eyes darting all over your face you suddenly remember how ghastly you look. "Oh this..." you wave at your face, casually. "I got jumped by an infected yesterday. Knocked my face pretty bad but I'll be fine."
Millie didn't answer for a few seconds, her eyes flicking to your table, then back to you. "Are you sure?" she finally spoke, even quieter than before. "Of course." you tilt your head, wondering why she's acting so weird. "It's just..." Millie bit her bottom lip, nervously. "If you need someone to-" "Millie? Can you help me out in her for a minute?" came a shout from the kitchen. "I've got to go. You take care," she smiled sympathetically before rushing off into the kitchen, leaving you bewildered. "What the hell was that?" you muttered under your breath before returning to your seat.
Later that afternoon you were alone in the house when you heard a knock on the door. Maria stood on the other side, and one look at her face told you this isn't a social call. "Hi, can I speak to you?" she asked. "Sure, come in." You opened the door fully and stood aside, allowing her in. "Is everything okay?" you asked sitting on the settee opposite her. "Maybe I should be asking you that." "What?" Maria cleared her throat and shifted, uncomfortably. "Is... everything okay... between you and Joel?" "What do you mean? Why would there be something wrong?" you queried, taken aback at such an abrupt question.
"Look, if you don't feel safe enough to talk about it-" "Talk about what? What exactly are you insinuating?" You don't like how this sounds one little bit, but you want to hear her say it before you possibly jump to conclusions. Maria sat forward, looking you dead in the eye. "Y/N... did Joel do this to you?" There it is; what you were hoping she wasn't going to say. "Of course he fucking didn't!" You sprang to your feet, fists clenched at your sides. "You know what happened. I reported it yesterday when we got back!" "I know but-" "How could you even think Joel would do such a thing!" Maria raised her hands in a show of surrender.
"I'm sorry. It's just I heard he might have been... hurting you and as a member of the council I had to investigate. I'm also your friend," she continued, "and I just had be be sure." You can feel the blood in your veins boiling as the seconds tick by. "Who the hell has been spreading bullshit like that?!" "There have been rumours going around-" "Rumours!" you scoff. "And you believed them?" Maria stood up slowly, counteracting your indignation with calmness. "I'm not saying I believe them-" "It's obvious you do or why would you be here?"
"I just needed to know. We both know that Joel can be volitile-" "Oh trust me, I know how Joel can be. I travelled across the country with him, remember. I know what he's capable of and I also know what he would NEVER do! He'd never hurt anyone he loves. Your head is now throbbing from the anger bubbling under your skin, but you just can't stop yourself. "He's never laid a finger on me or Ellie and I won't have anyone spreading vicious lies like that!' "He's killed innocent people before. How can you be sure one day he won't-" That's fucking it, the last straw!
"Do you trust Tommy?! Do you fear what he might do one day?" you throw back at her, sarcastically. "Because Tommy killed innocent people too, or have you conveniently forgotten that?" Maria's demeanour hardened slightly at your judgement of her husband. Good. Now she knows how it feels. "Tommy was just following Joel's lead." "Oh don't give me that bullshit!" you snapped in frustration. "He's a grown ass man capable of making his own decisions, and he chose to do that. You can't keep making excuses for him, but still hold it against Joel." Maria remained silent, seeming to realise the truth of your words. You inhale a calming breath before continuing.
"Maria, you've got to let go of this constant animosity you feel for Joel. Yes, he's made some wrong choices in the past, but he's not that man anymore... just like Tommy isn't. And wether you like it or not he's your family now. If not for Joel's sake, do it for Tommy's. Joel means the world to him and you know it." After a few tense seconds Maria nodded slowly, looking slightly abashed. "I'm sorry. Really, I am. As a council member it's my job to keep the peace in Jackson, so I had to ask..." she steps closer to you, taking your hand in hers.
"As your friend, I believe you. I can see how much you love Joel. No one would be so fiercely protective over someone who hurt them." Your shoulders sag as the tension drains away. "Thank you." "You also make a fair point," Maria says. "It's true I've never been Joels biggest fan, and maybe I have been a bit harsh on him," she rubbed the back of her neck, awkwardly. "I'm sorry. I'll try to... make things right with him, I promise." You squeeze her hand back. "That's all I ask."
"So, we'll see you tomorrow for breakfast?" The sincerity and hope in her voice, softened you up a bit. "Sure, see you then," you smiled at her. Maria began to walk towards the door but stopped when you called her name. "If you hear anymore gossip-" "I'll be sure to set the record straight," She interjected. "Thank you." When the door closed and you were alone once again, you slumped back down into the settee, leaning your head over the back, bringing your hands to your face in exasperation.
The weak winter sun began to dip behind the mountains, casting looming shadows in the streets of Jackson. Joel was due home from maintenance duty any minute, so you put the kettle on to make him a cup of coffee before you head out together for dinner at the mess hall. Worry had been plaguing you all afternoon. You just hope word of these rumours hasn't reached joel's ears. As Joel entered the house - tired but otherwise in good spirits - you felt your worry settle, knowing he's none the wiser or he would have, rightfully, been a murderous mood.
The last thing you want is for Joel to have to deal with hearsay from sad busybodies with nothing better to do with their lives. If you can discreetly nip this in the bud without Joel having to know, that would be for the best. Joel sauntered into the living room after kicking his boots off, sitting down with a groan. Even though his back ached and knees creaked, he relished in the deep satisfaction that came at the end of a hard day's work. He never though he'd have the opportunity to live a normal ( well, as close to normal as you can get) life again.
Instead of smuggling and scraping to get by on a day to day basis, he now has the chance to do something honest and meaningful, and he'll never take that for granted again. "Hey honey," you greeted joel as you sat next to him, handing him his favourite tawny owl mug. "Thanks, darlin'," he smiled and kissed your forehead. You watched as he closed his eyes, savouring the rich flavour of coffee as he swallowed. "You look tired," your voice was a gentle whisper as you ran your fingers through the curls at the nape of his neck, knowing how it soothes him. "I'm okay," he said, stifling a yawn.
"How are you feeling? Any pain?" Joel gently brushed your hair behind your ear, examining your your face. "I'm fine. The swelling's actually starting to go down now." Joel smiled, relieved. He still blames himself for what happened but any indication that you're recovering is music to his ears. "MOTHER FUCKING ASSHOLES!" You both jumped half a mile in the air as Ellie barged through the front door, slamming it so hard behind her the whole thing rattled. "Whoa, whoa, easy. What happened?!"
Joel rushed over to Ellie, his shoulders tensing and fists balling. You've seen that posture many times on the journey here. A posture that screams "I will kill anyone who hurt you". "Stupid people running their fucking mouths. That's what fucking happened!" Ellie seethed as she ripped her jacket off and flung it on the floor. Oh god, Ellie. Please don't! "What the hell ya goin' on about?" Joel drawled, his Texan accent thickening as it always does when he's upset. "Oh you didn't hear? Well, you would have soon enough. People have been going around saying you gave Y/N those bruises."
"What the fuck?!" Joel roared, the muscles in his shoulders and arms visibly straining as anger flooded his body. Joel looked back to you, a mixture of disbelief and fury contorting his features. You dash over to him, resting a hand on his arm in support. "Joel, please ca-" "What the hell is wrong with people!" he continued to rant looking between you and Ellie. He felt sick to his stomach that anyone would even entertain the idea the he would hurt you. "I'll fucking kill whoever said that," he mumbled in an ominously dangerous tone as he began pacing back and forth. "I'll rip their goddamn tongues out for them. I'll make sure-"
"Joel!" Reaching out, you grab both of his shoulders, forcing him to stop and snap out of this manic descent he had slipped into. When his eyes landed on yours, the darkness swirling within them, melted away, replaced with a devastation that almost made you cry. Joel brought his hands to cup your face. "Darlin', you know I'd never do that." "You don't have to tell me that, honey." Joel brushed a thumb over your cheek, sighing and shaking his head. "Did you know?" You nod, pressing your lips together in a thin line. "Yeah. I was hoping to put an end to it without you having to know."
"What do you mean?" Joel asked, his brow furrowing. "Maria came by earlier..." Joels face slid into a cold stare. "Of course she did," he huffed with disdain. "Oh don't worry, honey. I had a few choice words for her. I told her, well, practically screamed at her that you'd never do such a thing. And if she hears anymore talk, to shut it down." "Even when the world goes to shit, people still love a gossip," Joel spat the last word out like it was a bad taste on his tongue. "So, did she believe any of it?" he asked, his expression hardening once more.
"I think at first she did." Joel rolled his eyes. "But after I corrected her," - you emphasized the word corrected - "She believed me." Joel huffed with scepticism. "Joel, I don't want you to worry about this okay. I'll take care of it." "We both will!" Ellie, who'd been watching the whole exchange in silent anger, piped up. "We're not gonna let them drag your name through the mud. I'll make them fucking eat it first!" You couldn't help but chuckle at Ellie's choice of words.
"Ellie, as much as I would love to see that... and help you, we can't just go around roughing people up. There's rules here for a reason, unfortunately," you muttered the last part under your breath. "So... what? We just sit back and let them slander Joel!" Ellie threw her hands in the air in irritation. "Absolutely not!" you retorted, determination settling into your voice." We show them just how wrong they are." Joel placed his hands on his hips, a typical stance for him when he's stressed. "And how exactly do we do that?" he asked, sounding defeated.
"By presenting a united front. We make them see how strong and happy we are, all of us..." You look to Ellie, then back to Joel. "We show them there's nothing to hide or be ashamed of, and then they'll have nothing to yap about." Taking Joel's hand, you give it a reassuring squeeze. "And if I hear just one more person bad mouthing you, I'll make sure they regret it." Joel's face softend into a grateful smile. He's not convinced he's worth such loyalty and devotion, but he can't deny the warmth spreading through his chest at the thought of his girls so eager to defend him. It's an odd feeling for him, as he's used to being the protector. He could secretly get used to this.
"It'll be okay. I promise," you say, not letting go of Joel's hand. "We've got your back, old man." Ellie slapped Joel on the back, drawing a chuckle from him. "Not that old, you little shit," he replied in mock offense. "Now... let's go," You moved to grab your coat and boots. "The mess hall is open and I'm starving."
On the way to dinner, you found yourself paying close attention to everyone you passed, noticing a few side eye glances and disapproving looks. And every time, you pulled Joel's arm further around your shoulder and nestled closer into his side, a silent sign to the doubters that you feel no fear or discomfort in his embrace, as you would expect from an abused victim. Dinner wasn't as bad as you were expecting. Maybe Maria's influence with the townsfolk is to thank for that.
However a few inevitable glimpses were thrown in your direction. A middle aged couple made the mistake of allowing their eyes to linger on you for too long as they passed your table and you just couldn't let that slide. "Something you want to say to us?" you narrowed your eyes at them, daring them to open their mouths. Joel's arm snaked it's way around your waist, his jaw ticking as he too, stared them down. The woman's colour left her puffy face, while her husband forced a placating smile.
"Um... uh no, no." You smiled smugly at the alarm the old man was trying and failing to keep from his voice. "Good. keep it that way," Joel growled. The nervous couple looked at one another and hurried on by. Ellie smirked, "Fuck yeah, man! That's how it's done." "Damn right," you agreed, triumphantly. You could feel Joel's whole body relax around you and you gave him a "we've got this" look.
It may take longer than you'd like for all this nonsense to die down, but no matter how long it takes, you'll prove Joel's innocence, one way or another. You remember a saying from "Before"; "it's not all men", and if it's the last thing you do, you're going to make damn sure everyone knows it's certainly not your man!

Princess
Regina George x Reader
Word Count: 1.1k
Trigger Warnings: homophobia, physical bullying that results in injury, fluffy ending
Frankly this isn't my favorite fic I've written but I have tried my very best.
Request:
HEYYY omggg can i request ANYTHING with regina pls i dont care what it is:3 thank you!!
Synopsis:
After someone hurts the reader, Regina will make sure everyone knows not to hurt her princess.
Mean Girls (2024) requests are open.
Regina George was the Queen Bee at North Shore High. She was confident, brilliant, and ambitious. Regina could bring the entire school to their knees if she wanted. Only one person rivaled Regina George in popularity, and that was the only person Regina had a soft spot for. (Y/n) (L/n) was proclaimed Regina's princess by none other than Regina herself. On her own, (Y/n) didn't feel special, but Regina ensured she knew she was. While Regina lived for the popularity, (Y/n) could care less, but it was nice not to get bullied by the jock branch of the school's social structure.
While Gretchen Wieners was Regina's right-hand woman, as she deemed herself to be, (Y/n) could always be found on Regina's side. Regina was someone who was motivated by words of affirmation and physical touch. So, while she was touching (Y/n) in some way, whether their knees were touching or her hand was placed delicately on (Y/n)'s thigh, she reveled in the compliments she received from her girlfriend. Nothing boosted Regina's ego more than the love of her life, her princess, flirting with her shamelessly at the lunch table, not caring if Gretchen, Cady, or Karen heard.
However, today (Y/n) wasn't at the lunch table, in her usual spot. She tended to have everything ready for Regina by the time she reached the cafeteria. This ensured a few minutes alone as the other Plastics were forced to wait in line while (Y/n) and Regina talked about whatever they wanted without the listening ears of the other girls. Regina's brows furrowed as she looked around and didn't see the girl still. "Maybe she's still in class," Gretchen offered, earning a glare from Regina who sent a message to (Y/n), wondering where she was. Perhaps Gretchen was right though. As time passed, Regina grew impatient and agitated over (Y/n)'s absence.
After all, Regina knew that (Y/n) was present that day. They had walked to their homeroom class and their shared first period together. Tapping her fingers on the table, she was becoming more restless. "I'm going to go find her," Regina stated, standing up to leave. The girls went to follow her, but Regina stopped them. She wanted to go alone, and she didn't need Gretchen's constant pestering during their search. Quite frankly, she was also slightly annoyed over the fact that (Y/n) hadn't answered her text message.
As she passed one of the stairwells, Regina heard sniffling causing her to take a step back to see if it was who she thought it was. "Princess," her voice echoed the area, and (Y/n) looked up. Regina's previous annoyance was now abandoned as she saw the puffy lip and bruising eye adorning her girlfriend's face. Making her way over, Regina took (Y/n)'s chin into her feeling delicately as she wiped away some of the driving blood under her busted lip. "Who did this?" Her voice sounded leveled and cold. (Y/n) wiped a tear from her good eye, nervous to touch her other one since it was still stinging. Noticing this, Regina brushed a gentle finger to help rid the girl of her tears.
(Y/n) was led to the bathroom as Regina cleaned her face up. Only (Y/n) was allowed to be exposed to how gentle she could be. "You still haven't answered me, princess," Regina whispered, examining her face, and searching to make sure there was nothing she missed. "You felt like they had the right to hurt you? I need to know so I can burn them to the ground." For someone who was threatening (Y/n)'s bully, she only sounded calm and caring towards the girl in front of her. (Y/n) knew deep down that she also wasn't going to keep it from Regina. She just didn't want to be a snitch or make things worse. But maybe things were already worse at this point. After all, Regina had the sweetest tone in her voice but the most dangerous fire (Y/n) had ever seen in her eyes.
(Y/n) swallowed thickly wincing slightly when she licked her lip. She had forgotten how swollen and sore it was. "Marianne Hayes," she told Regina quietly, feeling Regina's fingers intertwine with (Y/n)'s. Regina's brow rose, wanting to hear everything that had happened. "She said I was sinning, being with a girl as she walked by me in the hall. So, I told her to say it to my face. That's when she turned and punched me. She got another punch in before her friend pulled her off. She reminded them that I was your girlfriend. Marianne made sure to point out that I was defenseless without you before she left, too. Which I'm not! The punch just caught me off guard and⊠I don't know. She always says things like that to me." (Y/n) expressed, sighing softly as the bell rang. They were supposed to be going to class, but neither of them moved.
(Y/n)'s words were also a revelation to Regina. Nodding slowly, she listened intently. "What do you mean she always says things like that to you? Why didn't you tell me she was talking shit to you?" Regina questioned. The quirk in her brow never left her face as she stared at her girlfriend with care and worry.
"I guess I never felt like it was important to bring up." (Y/n) muttered, looking away. A clear indication she was lying. There was more, and Regina squeezed her hands comfortingly. (Y/n) could be honest with her. She'd always listen to anything and everything that she had to say. "Okay, I suppose I felt like⊠If I didn't handle this, she'd be right, That I was just your little dog who couldn't defend myself. I wanted to prove that, yes, I'm your girlfriend, and yes, I'm proud, but⊠I can also defend myself. When I finally had the opportunity, she punched me."
Regina kissed her forehead in understanding. "You are not my dog. You are so much more than whatever the fuck Marianne, of all people, thinks of you. I will make sure she burns to the ground. You are my girlfriend, princess, and I know that you think you need to do things on your own, but I'm here for you." Regina cupped (Y/n)'s cheek gently. For anyone else in the school, seeing Regina this caring and soft was strange. But for (Y/n), this was her girlfriend. She was always this soft with her. "Now, come on. We're going to my house and we are going to watch a dumb romcom." (Y/n) smiled at this, allowing Regina to lead her out of the school, thankful to spend the rest of the day cuddled up to the blonde with She's All That playing on her wide-screen TV.

omg iâm so happy ur taking young coriolanus requests!! iâd love a oneshot of him falling for reader (whos from the districts) and him trying to deal with it
Summary: Coriolanus has no interest in his assigned tribute beyond her potential assistance in helping him win the Plinth prize...or at the very least, that's what he tells himself.
Warnings: Coriolanus being kind of delusional (in deep denial) and possessive, jealousy, a crush being treated like a terminal illness, Coriolanus trying really hard to talk himself out of said crush by comparing the reader to an animal/pet in his internal thoughts
----
His nails dig into the soft skin of his palm with enough force to leave stinging crescents in their wake. He's too far gone to feel the marks, to know when to relieve pressure to avoid breaking skin.
When the idea of having the best and brightest of the Academy's senior class was initially presented, the concerns about having such prominent members of the Capitol interacting so closely with representatives of the districts was highly contested. Most of the outcry had been from concerned parents--wealthy fathers and overly doting mothers desperately attempting to convince their leaders to not subject their poor, innocent children to that kind of proximity with something considered so other.
After all, those from the districts are closer to animal than man. If an outburst of hatred doesn't result in a Capitol heir's life and potential being cut short, perhaps some sort of disease would take them instead.
Coriolanus had found that part ridiculous. Not the way the tributes were seen, but the level of coddling the Capitol elite were willing to openly mark their children with. There are ways to mentor from a safe distance and there hasn't been public knowledge of a strange and fatal virus running through the districts in some time.
Now that he's here, standing at the zoo's entrance under the cover of night, food that he can't truly afford to waste tucked into the pocket of his coat, he realizes how naive he had been to not head their warnings. He's come down with something, that's the only explanation for the sweat coating his palms and the nervous turning of his stomach.
This infliction is something that you've done to him. Unintentionally, of course--your lack of cut throat nature and maliciousness had been a disappointing discovery at the time--but still true. Why else would he come here to feed you when his family can barely feed themselves?
Coriolanus walks further and further into the zoo until the familiar cage is in view. There are a no peacekeepers inside of the space and less than a hand full patrolling the perimeter. It's late and the games are tomorrow morning, any of the tributes that wanted to cause problems would have done so by now.
It shouldn't matter to him, none of them would turn him away. The mentors weren't explicitly told to stay away which means that the peacekeepers wouldn't bother him. He could always say that he's here to discuss last minute strategy, that the earlier bombing had cut his time short and that Dr. Gaul had given Academy students permission to make up that time if they so wished. But the thought of having less of an audience soothes him slightly.
He stands where he had stood beneath the daylight, near the corner, as far from the other tributes as physically possible. Regret begins to knot his stomach. Everyone's asleep. This will be the most alone together the two of you have ever been. It's also so dark, and you're likely asleep as well. How will he find you? Is it wrong to disturb the last peaceful rest you might ever experience?
The more he thinks, the more an urgency he can't wraps itself tight beneath his bones. The sensation, a likely byproduct of his ailment, makes him wish that there was some way to scratch beneath his skin. Right no longer matters, and neither does his growling stomach that begs him to just eat the food he had taken from the Academy's lunch and disappear back into the night. He needs to see you, to see that--
"You're going to be okay." Your voice, a soft whisper that brings him back to the present.
You're awake, the vague shape of your crouched form resting against one of the artificial rocks. You're also comforting someone with a much larger frame. Something in his chest turns to stone.
Here he is, wandering the Capitol streets in the dead of night, a pocket full of food that he had hidden from his own family for your sake and you're--you're not thinking of him at all.
Maybe his infliction had been more intentional than he thought possible. Your kindness could be a ruse and Coriolanus has heard rumors of your people. Some say that your ancestors practiced spirtual arts in order to enchant others. Perhaps you've bewitched him.
His own naivety burns through his chest. You're supposed to be his. If that's how it is, then he's freeing himself of you and your kind eyes and honey-laced voice. He'll--
"Coriolanus," a surprised, careful sound that's much warmer than your attempts at soothing someone had sounded.
His name forces the pinching feeling in his chest to be replaced by an uneasy warmth that crawls its way up his neck. He's suddenly glad for the darkness.
He follows your silhouette as you quickly push yourself to your feet with no regard for the boy next to you. Your movements are swift yet quiet, and the care behind them keeps him steady. You don't want to wake anyone; you want this to be just you and him.
"You're--" You stand so close to the bars that it'd take nothing at all to reach for you. "You're here." You place a hand on the bars that divide you, fingers curling around the cool metal. "Are you okay?"
The question is laughable. He's at the tribute zoo only a few hours before the games begin because some instinct had made seeing you again feel as important and necessary as breathing.
But you're not asking about that. You're asking about him, about his injuries from the bombing. "I'm fine," he assures you, "A little scraped up from the debris and I did lose consciousness, but I was treated for all injuries."
You're finally close enough for the moonlight to make a difference. He can make out the unruliness of your hair from the way that life has treated you since your reaping, the form of your tattered dress, your facial features and...the long gash that now marks your forehead.
"And I was told that you were as well." Someone in passing had mentioned that the tributes were cleaned up after the bombing. They weren't prioritized or given valuable resources, but they were cleaned up. Injuries were cleaned and dressed to prevent infection from getting in the way of the games.
You frown, tilting your head slightly as if to hide the length of the mark. Something in his chest tightens again, the sensation much more aggressive than before. Your smooth, gentle skin now marred...
His own defensiveness hits him like a physical blow. Coriolanus blames the feeling on familiarity. The desire to keep you in the best condition possible is no different than what someone would feel for a prized pet. You're his tribute, after all.
"It sort of happened after."
Panic seizes at his chest. After. One of the peacekeepers or another tribute had hurt you. "Who?" The coolness of his own voice shocks him.
You angle your head downwards, the motion distinctly dismissive. Coriolanus won't accept that. Who are you to hide something like this from him? After everything he's done for you, don't you trust him? His arm moves forward without his permission, pulling at your arm so that your body shifts closer to the bars. His other hand then slips between the poles and grasps your chin firmly between two fingers.
He tilts your head, giving himself the space needed to examine the entirety of the cut. It stretches down the start of your hairline and stops just short of your eyebrow. Not too long or wide, but the dried blood still smeared on you implies that it's deep.
"Who did this to you?"
His hold on you is steady, but not so tight that you couldn't step away if you wanted to. You hold still as he takes the time to examine the rest of your face for injuries. Your acceptance leaves a metallic taste in his mouth. Coriolanus releases you like you might burn him.
"I don't--" Of course you don't want to tell. Your nobility runs so deep, you don't care what it costs you.
An odd wave of distress washes over him. The night air feels wrong against his skin, too cold for the thin clothing he put on in his hurry to get to you. "You shouldn't alienate your mentor the night before the games."
Your lips pull down into what feels like a pout. You stare at him with wide eyes. "I'm not trying to alienate you." The genuineness of your words knots his stomach. "I--I'm glad that you're here, that you're okay." Usually, sugar coated words from you are enough to crack at his exterior. He's feeling a lot less amicable tonight. "The girl from district 4 was aggravated tonight. I think she wanted to intimidate the other careers into listening to her so she targeted Wovey and I was kind of--around."
Translation: your too-good-for-the-arena heart took over and you inserted yourself in a conflict that had nothing to do with you. "I told you to be careful."
You nod solemnly at the reprimand. Your lips part, but before you can say anything, the sound of your name steals your attention. You turn away from him, keeping one hand on the metal bars. "Yeah?"
"Are you coming back soon?"
The question jabs at him like a thumb finding a bruise. The tribute you were comforting may come from the same district as you, but that means nothing in the grand scheme of things. By morning, your destiny to be rivals in the arena will be sealed. He won't risk anything for you the way Coriolanus is. He'd snap your neck in an instant if it meant going back home. Surely, even you're not kind hearted enough to not see that.
You crane your neck to look back at him, but your body stays angled towards the other tribute. The urge to hold you in place, to bring your attention back to him physically aches. Is your final meeting before the games really going to be cut short because of some other tribute? The look you give him is apologetic enough to make his chest constrict. After all he's done for you.
"I'm talking to my mentor." Your response dislodges something from his chest. "Why don't you check on Wovey? I think that'll help."
The sound of shuffling fills the space, and then that's that. The two of you are as alone as two people like you can be.
"It was nice of you to come here," the admission leaves you carefully, "I-I tried to see what happened to you after, but they brought us back here so quickly, and I--"
"It's alright."
He never expected for you to be at the hospital. The mental image is strange enough as a concept in itself. You, sitting in one of those stiff hospital seats, waiting desperately at his bedside. You, in the same room as his cousin and grandmother, all three of you concerned and co-existing. It doesn't fit, you're not like them. You're district. That's inherently lesser, inherently replaceable no matter the level of your charm or--or appeal.
But if that's reality, than why was your name the first thing that stumbled past his lips when he woke up? Why was his first thought after being discharged about getting back to you? Why does the fact that you were sitting with the male tribute from your district turn his stomach? Why does he now have a personal vendetta against the girl from 4? These can't possibly all be things that someone would feel for a favorite pet, can they?
This train of thought is nauseating, and the last thing he wanted for the final night before the games. "I was worried." You force these words out in a jumble of colliding syllables, like if you didn't pry them out fast enough, they'd never manage to find their way out.
Coriolanus watches you carefully, imprinting the details of the small crease between your eyebrows and your nervous eyes to memory. The look tugs at something dangerously close to fondness. "Then you know how I'lll feel tomorrow." That, in itself, is a confession pulled from him the same way a rotten tooth would be extracted. "How I'll feel until you come back."
You stare at him, eyes wide. "If this is about the prize money the peacekeepers talk about, you're doing a good job."
There's a stiffness to the way you say this, a guarded quality that soothes him more than it should. The thought of him only being invested in you only because of what he can get out of your success displeases you.
It's instinct to want to ease you. It'd be easy, too. All it would take is a comment that implies that he can be here for more than one reason. The response sits at the back of his throat. Is that why he's here?
The natural answer is of course. Why else would he lose sleep? What other reason could he have for risking taking Academy food and exposing his poverty? Something he's rarely willing to do for himself and his own family.
"A person can want more than one thing at the same time."
You can't hold his gaze, eyes cautiously darting downwards. The display of shyness makes things feel a little warmer. It makes him bolder. Coriolanus moves his hand again, letting his fingers cover yours. You don't move away.
"I almost forgot." His free hand makes its way into the pocket of his coat, finding the carefully folded napkin. He's going out of his way to emphasize the casualness of food. The only thing caring about this gesture is that he had thought to come, not the food itself. There's no such thing as scarcity in the Capitol. "Here."
He offers the neatly tied fabric in the gaps between the bars. You don't attempt to take back the hand pressed between the pole and his own palm. You take the gift in your free hand and don't attempt to let go of him until you realize that you won't be able to untie the makeshift parcel with one hand.
You open it slowly, examining the contents of his offering carefully. Two biscuits, a few crackers, a small wedge of cheese, and another baked good that reminds him of a denser, more durable version of cake.
"Thank you," The truth to your gratitude forces something uncomfortable to wedge itself between his ribs.
You don't start eating right away, your head instinctually turning back. He realizes what you're doing almost instantly. "If you're going to share everything I give you, there's not much point in bringing it."
A little harsher than he meant to be out loud. It's not your fault. Your family is large and of a taking care of each other mentality. If there's food for one, there's food for all.
You nod, accepting the criticism the way you usually do. It's a good thing that you're so pliable, that you're eager to keep the usual comfortable atmosphere between the two of you. Sometimes, though, it feels a bit like kicking a puppy.
Carefully, you bring a cracker to your lips, chewing cautiously. Taking anything makes you guilty, another byproduct of your upbringing. Sometimes Coriolanus wonders if all of this would be easier if you were brought up like the majority of district children, more ravenous and unapologetic.
You'd told him about your mother before, a free spirit who works in a textile factory that produces lavish fabrics instead of standard peacekeeper uniforms. Even though the work isn't much different, you spoke about it like it made all the difference. My mother loves beautiful things so much she doesn't even care about who they're for.
That had been the first time he had found himself thinking about your appearance. If your mother's love is reliant on beauty, he realized, then you must have grown up with consistent affection.
You speak of her, of your entire family, in a way that confirms his hypothesis. You've told him stories of the way she hangs up the prettiest fabric she can find to hang up and turn one room into two--a necessity with so many of you living in a set of conjoined apartments.
"You're..."
You trail off, pressing your lips together nervously in a way that he's gotten used to. It usually signifies that you're concerned about being impolite. That's another thing that doesn't fit the district mold, even here you hold onto manners and social cues. Even when you first met him, you had fallen back on habit. He had introduced himself as your mentor and you absentmindedly asked how he was in that way that people do when they run into an acquaintance.
Normally, if he presses or even just prompts you once or twice you'll reveal your initial thoughts. They're rarely what he expects them to be. Instead of responding to the light raise of his eyebrows, you pick up a biscuit before stretching your arm towards him.
"Oh, no I'm--"
"You're hungry." That's what you almost blurted out.
You don't mean anything by it, or, at the very least, not anything beyond the realm of worry. Heat rises up Coriolanus's neck slowly but surely. You know nothing of his world and yet you knew that to have his hunger exposed would be embarrassing. You know that it's not the kind of hunger that comes from missing a meal or two on a particularly busy or chaotic day.
"Don't worry," you tack on, "It's not noticeable unless you know what to look for."
The comment is a little too reassuring, too on the nose. Can you read him that easily? Coriolanus takes the biscuit before he can pick apart your comment any further. The corner of your mouth shifts into an almost smile. You then break apart the wedge of cheese and try to hand him that along with most of your crackers and a piece of the pastry.
"No, I can't take all of that."
You stare at him oddly. "You've been injured," you stretch your hand out again, "You need your strength."
There are several reasons why you need your strength more than he does, but he can't figure out how to insist on that without making it seem like this is a final meal. He doesn't want to give you a chance to see it that way, so he takes the a little less than half of what you're offering. "Compromise."
You nod, accepting his terms. He's unsure who starts it, but the two of you end up sitting in front of each other. You smooth the napkin out in front of you, setting up what's left of your food like a makeshift picnic. "My mother used to take me for picnics."
"Yeah?" There's something about your stories about your life back home that are attention drawing. It's not so much mundane content of life in district 8 and the fact that it still managed to produce someone like you, it's the way you speak. You're expressive and bright.
"Mhm," you finish off your first cracker, "Eight isn't exactly full of nature, but there's this wooded area past the factories and if you know where to go, you'll find this clearing that's practically untouched. She'd go there sometimes on days off when she needed to collect wildflowers to turn into paints and she'd bring who she could...me, my siblings, cousins..."
You pick up a piece of cheese, setting it on a cracker. "Neighbors, sometimes." Your voice wavers in a way that sticks out. Despite an initial tearing up on your first night, you haven't cried or behaved in anyway that indicates that this could be your end. He doesn't want you losing hope now. "Tanner used to go with us."
It's whispered with the intensity of a confession. The boy you came with, the boy you were speaking with--you grew up with him. That's a bond that's not as easily dismissed. That's something strong enough to challenge his connection with you.
Why does it matter? He's earned enough of your trust, you spoke in a way that earned more donations than anyone else. You trust him enough to actually fight in the arena. It--it doesn't matter if you...
"Do you care for him?" The question surprises both of you equally. His own bluntness, the slight edge to his tone...it's too much for a mentor.
"Uh," you sniffle once, "He was a good friend when we were little, our families know each other." An knot so tight it's difficult to stay sitting there twists his stomach. "We're a little less close these days."
If you comforting him during the dead of night, losing sleep during your last chance to rest is your version of less close, Coriolanus doesn't even want to imagine your normal. "You shouldn't expect any loyalty during the games, the second the count down begins, there's no such thing as friendship."
You wipe at your face with the back of your palm. "What makes you so sure?"
Your question isn't a challenge or an attempt to convince him that the boy would never hurt you. You're asking because you're curious, because you want to know his thoughts. "Human nature."
It's more nihilistic than he usually is in front of you, but his patience is wearing thin. The soreness of his body is starting to catch up with him and wasting the little time you have less discussing someone so insignificant is draining.
His annoyance has to stem from how little the other tributes matter to him. That's the only reason he can piece together, especially when his brashness is likely pushing you away.
"Then why can I trust you?"
Another question that you mean. It's not a slight or an attempt to indicate that you're not there yet with him. He didn't come here to cast doubt on the bond he so carefully helped build.
He can't look at you as he speaks, "Because I'm going to do anything I can to get you back."
You nod, your eyes retreating to focus on your lap. "For the prize money, for your school."
He picks at the edge of his biscuit, a few crumbs falling to the ground. "I already told you, I want more than one thing."
That's not exactly what he said...this reiteration of it is more blatant. Heat burns his face. You peak up at him through your lashes.
If you had been born in the Capitol, you would have done well. You're found of civility and social norms despite a lifetime in the Districts and despite only knowing you stained in various levels of grime, he can tell that our features are pleasing. Polished, dressed, and brought up differently, you would have been a regular Capitol darling.
Coriolanus shakes his head once, an attempt to dismiss his thoughts. Why care about what you could have been? Why imagine what you'd be like if you were part of his word?
"You're not going to--to rely on him in the arena." It's framed as a question, but in reality, it's more of a hopeful statement.
You pause, genuinely thinking about your response. "No." You rest a hand on your bent knee, gently scratching at the skin. "Not rely."
The answer isn't concrete enough, but he has no right or reason to say much else. "Don't let your guard down. Not for anyone."
You nod, reaching for what's left of your biscuit, "I won't, I promise."
"Good, I'll be watching and I'll remember when you get back."
Get back. You wipe at your cheek with the back of your palm. "Yeah, when I get back."
The dryness of your voice cracks at him. If you consider yourself defeated before even stepping into the arena, you won't come back to him. For him. For the Plinth prize.
He shoves the thoughts down as deep as they'll go. They don't manage to get very far, crowding his throat in a way that makes it hard to breathe. Coriolanus doesn't trust himself to speak, so instead he slips his hand between the cage's bars. He lets his hand sit there, palm facing upwards in a silent offering.
Coriolanus stares at his arm as a way to prevent himself from taking in your reaction. A beat passes, and then the tips of your fingers are brushing against his before settling against his palm. He squeezes your hand tightly, so tightly he's aware that it's probably uncomfortable, but the prospect of holding you so tightly that you can't vanish is too assuring.
"Do you have to--to go soon?"
He adjusts his hold on you, bending his fingers so that they can rest between yours. The rest of his household is asleep by now, but they'd be able to tell if he spent the night here and that would worry them. It would also make the morning much more complicated...he'd have to shower and change before the games begin in order to hide where he spent the night.
"No," it leaves him before he realizes what he's saying, "I can stay as long as you'd like."
A hint of a smile tugs at your lips, "Good."
That makes something in his chest feels like it's going to burst. He shouldn't care. He should see this open display of clinginess as an inconvenience. And why would he risk getting caught as someone that spent the night on the floor of the zoo when there's nothing left to convince you of?
The answer strikes him so harshly he nearly lets go of you. He didn't just want you to ask him to stay to prove something, he wanted the excuse to stay. He--he wants to be near you...and not in the way that someone wants to spend time with a puppy.
The truth to it is simple. Straightforward. He cares about you.
He can hear that you're speaking, but your words are too distant to mean anything.
"Coriolanus?"
No. No. He--he isn't meant to care about you of all people, to feel these kinds of--No. No, he can't. He's not biologically wired to. And yet, he can't let go of your hand.
"Coriolanus?"
He squeezes your hand even tighter. "You didn't ask me."
"What?"
"The other thing I want, you didn't ask me about it." The words leave him in a rush, an uneasy mess that he needs out.
Confessing turns these kinds of thoughts into reality, an undeniable force that he wishes he could vanish. But maybe if he gets it out, the ache of it will be expelled from him. Maybe he'll finally be able to think about something else that doesn't involve analyzing your every expression like your life depends on it.
"No," your eyes are wide, a deer realizing they're not the only ones at the watering hole, "I-I didn't."
A small part of him is disappointed that you don't take the opportunity to press. You usually do, chatting like you're a regular friend and not his tribute. "I'll tell you anyways." He swallows, gripping your hand like a lifeline. You squeeze back, a silent display of support. "It's you."
Your hand goes slack in his. Coriolanus warns himself that it's best to keep his eyes away from you, to not read any--he breaks, gaze snapping upwards to watch you.
"Me?" Your voice is fragile and impossible to read. You lift your intertwined hands as best you can between the poles that make up the cage. You lean forward, pressing your lips against the back of his palm. Your eyes briefly fall shut.
"I--" You set your intertwined hands back in place. "I think the practical thing to do would be to forget about me." The rejection cuts through him. All he can do is stare. "You know what's going to happen tomorrow."
Your twist your hand in an attempt to steal it back as you push yourself upwards, adjusting so that your weight is on your knees. Coriolanus instinctively shifts forward, grabbing your arm to keep you close. He moves to sit up on his knees. "You're going to come back." You stop trying to push him away. "Do you care about me?"
"You're being unfair," your whisper is harsh, "Even--even if I win, where would that leave us?" He's silent. "I'll be back in a cage and you'll stay on the outside, only this time they won't be in proximity to each other."
You're logical. You're right. And he can't bring himself to care. "Do you care about me?"
"Of course I do," the response is frustrated, exhausted, "I think I might even--" Your mouth clamps shut, eyes briefly leaving him. "I think I love you." You drop head, giving Coriolanus only the slightest glimpse of your now glassy eyes. "But what does that matter?"
The word loosens something in his chest. He gets as close to the bars as physically possible, pulling on your arm in a way that almost makes you fall forward. The new proximity seems to drain any remaining fight from you.
He leans forward, his lips finding yours in the space between metal. It takes you a second to catch up with what's happening, but once you do, you return the display of affection. He pulls your bottom lip between his own before releasing you enough to let you breathe.
"Is this real?" The question takes its time coming out, slow and through pants. If he thought thinking about you before was a type of sickness, then this is something terminal. You nod instinctually, urgingly. "Then we'll find a way." You're both resting your head against the bars. If it wasn't for the invasive metal in the way, you'd be resting against each other. "Just come back to me, and everything else--we'll figure it out."
He can write to you. He can find an excuse to bring you back to him. Maybe another aspect of the games--something that requires victors to visit the Capitol.
You nod, acceptance finally coloring your features as you squeeze his hand. "We'll figure it out."

You Should Talk
Georgia Stanway x Reader
Word Count: 2k
A/N: Inspired by the one and only Fletcher song
[WOSO Masterlist]
The room falls silent the second the door slams shut behind you.Â
An uncomfortable tension settles as you breathe out noisily through your nose.Â
Itâs hard to temper the anger simmering in your veins, your glare sharp enough to shake even those who have attempted to stay on the sidelines.Â
âOut. All of you,â you bite out, eyes never leaving your target.Â
Georgia glares back, raising her chin just a bit back in challenge.
Your hackles rise on instinct, eyes flashing dangerously when no one moves.Â
âI said leave.â
Clothes are shoved haphazardly into bags as the last stragglers shoot out behind you, none of the girls daring to meet your eyes as they escape to safety.
The benefits of being one of the last ones to the locker room generally meant less girls hanging around while you get your things together. A downside is catching conversations that clearly werenât meant for your own ears.Â
Keira pauses awkwardly in front of you, grimacing when you stare right through her, eyes never leaving Georgiaâs. âSorry. Donât take it out too much on her. You know how she is when sheâs unhappy.â
Sometimes you love how caring Keira is. How sheâs always driven to mediate and fix things even if sheâs not involved.
Todayâs not one of those days.
Keira sighs when you donât acknowledge her, throwing a glance over her shoulder at Georgia before slipping out behind youÂ
You barely wait for the door to click shut before youâre stalking forward.Â
Itâs no surprise that everythingâs led to this. From the moment camp started things have been frosty. Leah and Keira have been doing their best to keep you two separate, nothing good ever coming out of a volatile break up. But that didnât stop the snide comments, the muttered insults. Everywhere you turned it was like Georgia was there with her prickly tongue, each word cutting as much as the last.Â
The last straw were those words you heard her complaining to Keira just mere seconds ago.Â
âYou're one to talk, Stanway. Iâm the insane one?"
Georgia rolls her eyes, arms crossing in front of her.Â
âIâm the one who ruins everything? Tell me how exactly me wanting to spend time with my girlfriend ruins things.â
âThatâs not what I meant and you know it.â
âNo I apparently donât! Because why am I the insane one for being upset that you never wanted to spend time with me?â
Georgia scoffs, pushing up to meet your fire with fire. âI play in Germany! Itâs not like I could pop over for an hour every time you wanted to see me!â
âOh my god, thatâs not what I meant and you know that.â You press an accusatory finger against her chest, making sure to add pressure every time Georgia tries to brush your hand aside. âAll I wanted was more effort. You want to tell me how many video dates you blew off so you could be out with your German friends? Or how many times you canceled plans to come home so you could jet off somewhere else?â
âWell Iâm sorry for actually having a life. When you have a girlfriend who spends her time bitching at you about everything she thinks youâre doing wrong youâd skip out on calls too.â
âOh fuck you!â
âYou wish!â Georgia shouts back.Â
Though you scrub angrily at your face, youâre not fast enough to hide the evidence of just how hard Georgiaâs words have hurt you. Georgiaâs face flickers a bit, her brash demeanor softening a bit when she catches the tears rolling down your cheeks.Â
Unable to stop the stinging in your eyes, you push past her to your locker before she can say anything else. If Georgia wants to act like youâre the worst person to ever walk the earth youâll just have to do the exact same.Â
In the back of your anger hazed brain, you register the way Georgia lingers. She headed for the door the second you started shoving your clothes into your bag, neither of you wanting to spend more time arguing about how much you hated the other, but for some reason she just hasnât left yet.Â
You throw your bag over your shoulder, rolling your eyes when you spot Georgia uselessly tugging at the door. âWhat are you doing? Just open it.â
âYou think Iâm trying to spend more time than necessary with you?â she shoots back. âThis bloody door just wonât open.âÂ
âWhat do you mean it wonât open?â
âWhat else could I mean?â Georgia scoffs before banging on the door again. âHello? Can anyone hear us? Weâre trapped in here!â
âClearly no one can hear us otherwise we wouldnât be locked in here.â
âGreat. Just fucking great,â Georgia mutters before sliding down onto the floor. Might as well get comfortable if youâre going to be here for the foreseeable future.
âBeing locked in a room with your ex girlfriend that miserable of an act for you?â you canât help but laugh bitterly.
âYou broke up with me,â she grits out, purposefully not looking your way.
You roll your eyes. âThatâs why youâve been acting like a child all camp? Because I broke up with you?â
If you cared more about your own personal safety and peace of mind you should maybe do a better job of keeping your mouth shut. Because the way Georgiaâs nearly snapping her teeth at you tells you just exactly how endearing she finds the lip youâre giving her. But you're too far gone to care at this point, wanting Georgia to feel nothing if just a piece of how you've been feeling these past couple months.
Georgia scoffs but you cut her off before she can say another word.Â
âNo, you listen to me, Georgia. I broke up with you because you gave up first. You clearly wanted an out so I gave it to you.â
âDonât do that!â she snaps. âDonât blame it all on me. It takes two to fuck things up.â
âDonât give me that âwoe is meâ crap. You gave up long before I did and you know it.â
âWhat did you want me to do? You kept pestering me about your mum and then you showed up where I work to fight about it! How am I the bad guy here? Youâre the insane one for doing that!â
âFor the last time, I didnât go to Bayern to fight with you, you self-centered asshole!â You throw your hands up in frustration. What you really wanted to do was throw your boots at her, but the thought of having to help Georgia stop any bleeding if you actually made contact was the only thing stopping you from doing so. âI was touring the training grounds because they offered me a contract. I wanted to check it out before making any decisions.â
The day you landed in Germany still haunts you. You traveled straight from the Colney to the airport to Bayernâs practice grounds. It was only ever supposed to be a quick trip. Explore the training facility, talk with a few of the execs, maybe surprise Georgia with a quick dinner before returning to London.Â
What you didnât expect was to run right into your girlfriend after making your first loop around the area.Â
Georgia was elated at first, but you could spot the apprehension settle in just as quick. Making your excuses she had grabbed your wrist and dragged you into a deserted room.
Accusations were thrown.Â
âAre you seriously here to lecture me in person about missing your mumâs birthday next week?â
âWhatâs so wrong with me being here? Got a secret girlfriend youâre trying to hide?â
Old wounds were rehashed.
âStop being so bloody insecure!â
âQuit being such an attention whore then!â
By the time you left it was with a broken heart, a broken relationship, and a newfound resolve to stay the hell out of Germany. The national team was something you couldnât, and wouldnât, get out of, but spending everyday playing club level with your ex was something youâd never do.Â
When your words sink in, Georgia freezes. Her mouth drops open, face one of surprise and conflicted regret. âI didnât-- You⊠No one told me.â
âI wanted it to be a surprise,â you mutter, picking at a thread on your sweater. âSo much for that.â
The bad times were bad, you wonât deny it. Both you and Georgia are hotheaded enough that arguments werenât rare to come around. You always end up resolving them, but frustrations about being so far away from each other mixed with emotions neither of you could adequately express bubbled over until you called it quits.Â
Yeah, maybe you shouldâve tried harder, but in the end you were just too defeated to do so.
Although things crashed and burned horrifically, however, you couldnât deny how much you still loved her. There would always be a part of you that belonged to Georgia, no matter how infuriating you found her.Â
Youâve known each other since you were children, the relationship something everyone expected to happen. Everyone always joked about the two of you dating when you were younger, the affection you had for each other always superseding those of regular friends. When Georgia asked you out in the middle of the night during one of your youth camps, you couldnât help but say yes.Â
For years the two of you made the distance work. Georgia was always in and around the Manchester area while you were in London yourself. You always made sure to carve out enough time to still travel to see one another, quality time important to the two of you.Â
So no, distance wasnât something new to your relationship. But for some reason the distance between England and Germany proved to be too much for the two of you to bear.
Germany was something you could never take away from Georgia. From the moment she told you about Bayernâs offer, you knew she was going to accept it. It was something you knew Georgia has always wanted to do, play in a new league, experience a different environment. And of course you were happy for her. Youâd never be anything less than proud of everything your girlfriend has achieved. But if you had known just how badly the move wouldâve messed up your relationship maybe you wouldâve tried harder to convince her to stay.Â
So who knows, maybe in another universe the two of you made the distance work. Maybe you brought up the things that bugged you before they turned into something bigger than it was. Maybe you made the move to Germany and the two of you lived happily ever after.Â
But this is here and now, and thereâs no denying how much Georgiaâs hurt you (and how much youâve hurt her back).Â
âYouâre an asshole, Georgia Stanway.â
Georgia sighs, shutting her eyes as she lets her head thump against the locker behind her. Itâs a thump of defeat, one that tells you everything you need to know about how much Georgia wished she did things differently. âI know. Iâm sorry.â
Youâre silent for a moment as you take her in. Itâs hard to miss the bags under her eyes, the barely existent chewed down nails, the minute details that showed just how much Georgiaâs been hurting too.
You let your head thump backward too.Â
âIâm sorry too.â
.
When the doors are unlocked hours later, Leah finally having enough mind to read her texts and discover the lock-in, sheâs expecting nothing short of carnage. What she sees instead is the two of you asleep, your head on Georgiaâs shoulder as your hands stay clasped together.

love & basketball // paige bueckers
summary: y/n and a particular uconn player get a little to close for comfort on the court, adding fuel to the fire of allegations that the two were more than rivals, quite the opposite in fact.
warnings: none?
a/n: that one game of dijonai and nalyssa? yeah.
â§
your nose scrunches in discomfort as your chin connects with the harsh wooden floor of LSUâs gymnasium. you shake your head at the sting, taking a deep breath before the blow of a refâs whistle rings you back to reality, signaling a foul on UConn by player number five.
you two had been going back and forth the entire game. you had been crowding her shots with your defense, sheâd been faking you out every time youâd think you had her. it was an entertaining game to watch, and even more interesting to play.
your team was down by six, you knew if you got a foul on UConn, you could match the score easy with two free throws. it was hard at first, if youâre being completely honest. you had to get one of the most talented college basketball players to fall into your trap. paige is a good player, a smart one, but so are you.
which brought you here, feeling the pressure of two arms wrapping around your waist, two hands planted to pull you up slowly.
you use the ball to push yourself off the ground, coming to a stand as you push your hips back slightly. paige doesnât miss the way your ass brushes against her pelvis as you rise, sliding her hands down to your hips to steady you as you passed the ball to the ref.
she leans over slightly as the two of you approach the free throw line, whispering a small, âyou good?â
you turn your head slightly but donât avert your gaze towards her completely, giving a short nod because jogging to meet your teammates for your two frees.
paige was tantalizing, anyone with eyes could see that, but you werenât gonna let a little slip up throw off the rest of your game, especially this close to march madness. she knew this, which is why her lips pulled into a sly smile as she took her place beside her teammates and across from yours.
nika glances at paige with raised brows, an incredulous expression laced across her face, to which the blonde puts both hands up in defense, mumbling something about simply âhelping you up.â the defensive guard shakes her head, facing away from paige and to the center where you got ready to take your shot.
the arena falls silent as you dribble in place a few times, lining up your shot before sending it. you see uconnâs defense attempt to block it, but its through and through. same goes for your second shot, swishing through the hoop as the student section erupts with cheers. you leave your arm in the air, three fingers waving as the clock starts again.
you look back at paige as you begin to jog to your next position, smirking.
oh this was gonna be a fun game.
-
you slowly gather your belongings into your gym bag as the rest of the girls file out, voices overlapping about celebratory plans. you opt to stay back, enjoying the peace and quiet of the empty locker room after a win.
they were no doubt on their way to a local bar or the team dorm hall to round out whatâs been an eventful night. it was a close game, 92-89, but LSU managed to pull through.
your post-game plans, however, involved a little less noise and a lot less people. only one, in fact.
as you exit the athletic building, you spotted just the girl you hoped to see, leaning against the brick wall, eyes focused on her phone.
âyou know,â you say as you approach her,â you really shouldnât be out here all by yourself.â
her head pops up, eyes meeting yours from your position a few feet away from her.
âor what, a pretty girl might run up on me? try and steal another dub?â
âi ainât steal nothing from you, you just gotta work harder if you donât want me to take it.â
âohhh,â she laughs, cocking her head to the side, âitâs like that?â
âyeah, itâs like that,â you reply, stepping closer to the girl.
the two of you hold each otherâs gaze, eyes only focused one the other. you let your eyes linger over different parts of her face. the blue in her eyes, dust of heat on the apples of her cheeks, and her lips that were pulled into a smug smile.
âyou came here to taunt me or are you gonna give me a hug?â
you couldnât ignore the smile that spreads across your face as you close the gap between the two of you, wrapping your arms around her waist as hers drape over your shoulders, pulling you in deeply.
the two of you sway a little, rocking further side to side as the hug continues. you only stop when you almost fall over. a fit of giggles escape your lips as you regain balance, a few falling from your girlfriendâs as well.
as your laughs subsides, you pull back, just enough so you can see her face, the only noise being the hum of the outdoor lights surrounding you. you stood there for a moment taking each other in, enjoying one of the limited occasions you could do this face to face.
âyou know that foul was bullshit, right?â
âoh, whatever!â you say, moving your hands to her lower abdomen as you push her away.
âyou guys needed those two points to match us, itâs alright. just know it wonât happen again.â
âif you really wanna talk about what shouldnât happen on the court, letâs talk about that little stunt you pulled, hm?â you ask, as a dragged out âalright,â leaves the other girlâs mouth.
âi was just tryna help you up.â
âoh, thatâs how you help everyone up?â
paige smacks her teeth, shaking her head as she responds, âdonât act like you werenât tryna push all up on me.â to which you roll your eyes.
a silence falls over the two of you once again. itâs comfortable and soothing, a stark contrast from the early spring chill that occupied the air around you. and again, you admired each other, doe eyes and warm-hearted smiles covering your faces.
paige lifts one hand to your chin, turning your face towards the light. she could see a small bruise on the underside, a slight frown on her face.
you can tell she feels guilty about the fall, even more so now that she sees the redness forming as a result. you wrap your hand in hers, holding it tenderly. âhey, you didnât bruise me up too badly, okay?â
âyeah, i know,â she mutters, but her eyes are still fixed your chin.
âif you really wanna make it up to me, you could kiss it better,â you suggest.
her furrowed brows turn to raised ones, a smile lingering as a soft, âoh yeah?â leaves her lips.
âmmhm,â you nod, cupping her face, âcâmere.â

" SURFER GIRL! "
summary. brazil!hinata x surfer!reader
warnings. afab!reader, post!timeskip
a/n. wrote this bc of @/garfieldissocool . just a drabble idk
the ball slams into the sand with a dull thud, the sun hot against hinataâs bare back. beach volleyball is always fun, a little bit harder, but more carefree. the atmosphere is more friendly, less competing to actually win the game.
the other team has possession of the ball, and heâs honestly starting to feel a little antsy to jump. as the opposite side prepares to serve, hinata glances out towards the sea. it was supposed to be a quick sweep of the beach, just because he needed to calm himself for a second. but something else catches his attention. it feels like a pull to his heart, a gut feeling that drags his gaze to you. he zeroes in on your frame in the water, stood on a surfboard and gliding with the waves of the ocean.
now, hinata knows close to nothing about surfing, but youâre staying on the board, so you must be pretty good, right? youâre doing it effortlessly too, like itâs as simple as walking to you.
for some reason, he canât look away, his brain wonât let him. he's seen lots of surfers, theyâre always out when heâs on the beach. heâs always thought surfing was cool, but heâd never tried it, too caught up with volleyball to try anything else. he keeps watching you, though, forgetting about the game thatâs still ongoing around him. heâs impressed at first, impressed that youâre able to keep your balance so easily, but as you get closer to shore, he notices thatâŠ
oh⊠wow.
youâre beautiful.
he's seen many women in his time in brazil, but none like you. none as pretty or as intriguing as you. heâs never been interested in dating or girls in general, even in high school, he was always busy with volleyball. he still is. all he really thinks about is volleyball, thatâs how itâs been for years.
butâŠ
thereâs something about you. maybe itâs your hair, or the way your skin looks wet, or perhaps the carefree look on your face. he isnât sure, itâs just⊠you.
he decides right there that he has to meet you, he has to talk to you and find out what your voice sounds like. he has to see you up close, to get to know you.
however, before he can even move, the ball is flying into his face, hitting him on the side of his head. a sharp sting follows, and he falls back in the sand with a grunt, his hand rubbing at his skin. his eyes shoot back to you though, and suddenly youâre looking at him. he canât even hear the sounds of his friends laughing or asking if heâs okay, canât hear the sounds of the ocean or the seagulls flying overhead. all he can see is you. you and youâre pretty smile as you try to hold back a laugh.
he isnât even embarrassed that you probably saw him get hit, and he isnât embarrassed that heâs blatantly staring at you. heâs too enthralled by you to feel anything but attraction. his chest feels tight and fluttery⊠is this what love feels like? this is sort of how he feels when he eats good food, or when he gets a point.
after a handful of seconds, he finally regains his composure. after unscrambling his brain, he forms a coherent thought.
he's going over there.
