I just want to know everything, don't really care for seeing it around me. Fun facts, lore, I like to speculate or come up with theories. I collect books or notes on it if I can.
(Ex. Sea life would be books marine life, watching documentaries, being a human encyclopedia for marine life)
2. Not so much a knowledgable enjoyer, but visually I'm obsessed. I like my s/i 's design, owning anything that has it on it, drawing or looking at Fanart of it, ect.
(ex. Cats would be cat pictures, keychains, utensils, anything that has a cat on it HAS to be mine)
3. I'm the Frankenstein's monster version of option 1 and 2. I like to learn about and I like to look at my special interest.
(ex. A character would be having/making things of them. "Omg, this character said 'x' in 'y' which is why they are associated with 'z' because it's actually foreshadowing their future plot/character development. THEREFORE, I'll be adding 'z' to my own character design of them forever to reference it subtly.")
4. Like the other options but really depends on what the thing is.
(ex. If it's about a book, I want to know everything and express it visually. If it's about whales I only want to know about it, not everything has to look like whales. If it's about birds, I don't really care to know about it, but I love seeing them so I'd like to have things that look like birds/related.)

lol wtf the pink flashing also happened the 2nd time I visited the lot but I did "boolprop reparseshaders true" and it immediately disappeared, with no crashing
#pink soup#I still think there's something to the GPU memory fragmentation idea as being partially the cause#if it was exclusively an 'out of memory' issue the game would say that because that is one of the error options#I think it has the memory it just can't use it or properly allocate it because it's stuck in an inaccessible state#which is the definition of memory fragmentation but yeah#I swear there's also smth specifically abt the presence of pink flashing that leads to crashing#not bc they're caused by the same thing but bc if u have No Error Visualization by LazyDuchess the crash is much less likely#and LazyDuchess also recommends using 'boolprop reparseshaders true' when things start turning invisible if u use their mod

random question but for a group that is considered an angel group theres a lack of angel imagery in the graphics and blog and knowing you i am sure there’s a reason for that????? 🎤
LMAOOOOOO KNOWING ME?! 😭😭😭 ok. but ur right. i actually do have a reason but i’ve never said anything about it because that’s lore territory and i’ve always wanted to do something “fun” to talk about those silly theories. but with the way i’m moving… ok. u didn’t ask for this but i will do a little lore dump on the reason why i don’t really include angel visuals to their content with a tldr because before i am an human i'm a yapper!
in their world, the mobius, there’s an otherworldly god i call "i"— though sometimes i call them "mother" or "father" as well, since, really, they’re only a concept. and, in a way, "i" could even be u.
“i” is beyond mortal understanding, something like a biblically accurate angel that no one is worthy to look upon. a literal god of whom no one shall make a carved image. their vision when creating the mobius was to make a “perfect world,” free of sin and disobedience, where angels and disciples would serve them and their word alone. to do this, “i” created three angels from the heart of nature, because whatever came from mother nature itself would surely obey them, right? but there was one rule in “i’s” book: noooooooo one could ever resemble the likeness or idea of “i.” because if their angels inspired the same awe or dread "i" provided, how could they ever spread their message?
so, these angels were made to radiate kindness, each a vessel of their season, born to share “i’s” teachings without stirring fear. they’re almost like concepts themselves: a glimpse of what they might be, but always held back by “i’s” rules and doctrine. basically, they were created solely to serve. (not trying to be funny here lmaoooooooooo). in their gentle, human-like forms, the sillies are the perfect reflections of “i’s” ideals, inspiring trust rather than dread to those they cross paths with.
yet, after the aengel of the season project, they saw how “i” had limited them as angels, as “humans,” as individuals because they didn’t even have the right to think on their own without consequences. they were even bothered by the fact that “i” didn’t fully respect mother nature by allowing their disciples to slowly destroy her. this realization sparked anger toward their god, their roles, and even their own identities because who the fuck am i? eventually, they understood that they were as close to god as anything could be as they were created by "i" and their own creation, so why serve when they are their own person slash actual angel? 🤭 now, with “i’s” gift, aka their serene, human-like forms as they don’t portray themselves as the biblically angels they actually are, they quietly but definitely defy “i’s” words by sharing their own doctrines of self-love, self-expression, and self-respect. :)
TLDR. their human forms are simply “vessels” to gain people’s trust, as they’re actually biblically accurate angels :) because how can they share their own doctrine and encourage mmmmmmm individuality? uniqueness? if everyone is screaming and kicking their feet while they’re going plsssssss do not be afraid D: their aura alone is angelic enough, aka the main reason angel imagery isn’t present enough in the blog :)

hot new* Dragonstorm bug let's go
ended the intro cutscene to find myself randomly teleported into Primordus's lava, taking no damage. so I ran away and immediately burst into flames and just... started taking continuous damage, the fire overlay stuck on my screen. Just Permanently On Fire.
and then the grand twist: attacking Jormag finally put me out so I guess the dragons really do neutralize each other! wild

#inspector morley late of scotland yard investigates#inspector morley late of scotland yard#(there's some confusion about the correct title of this series; it appears onscreen with 'investigates' but many online sources omit the#final word and it wouldn't be unique in having a title screen that differed slightly from the official name of the show; either way it's a#hell of an unwieldy name for your programme.....)#classic tv#1952#john gilling#victor m. gover#tod slaughter#patrick barr#tucker mcguire#leonard sharp#another rediscovered gem made available by the good folks at kaleidoscope#oof. ok. so the story of Inspector Morley is complicated and still semi mysterious (the show is 70 years old after all‚ there's precious#little surviving documentation). as far as it goes‚ this was a UK production intended for sale to the BBC (there existing no independent tv#company in 1952). the beeb‚ for whatever reason‚ passed on the series. 13 episodes had been made and of these about seven were cobbled#together into feature films to recoup some of the costs; those survived and saw occasional outings on rainy afternoon tv schedules here#it was thought that the remainder were junked‚ but research (not my own i hasten to add) has revealed that the whole series was in fact sol#to the US where it was shown on WGN (a Chicago based station i believe). when kaleidoscope recovered this particular episode some 6 or 7#years ago‚ it was thought to be the sole surviving episode‚ at least in its original format (ie. not edited into a feature). actually it#sounds like they might all exist and a few are even on youtube (including this one). this is very early detective tv and it shows its age#not just in its ropey visuals (it's all quite soft and fuzzy) but in its very old fashioned shape and design‚ which is closer to mid#century film than what television would shortly become. that sensation is only furthered by the presence of the immortal Tod Slaughter‚ a#bastion of early british cinema and one of the first horror icons the uk ever produced. unusually‚ it seems like he starred in most (if not#all) of the episodes of the series; unusual bc he plays the villain‚ opposite Barr's staunch ex copper Morley. having a recurring villain#must certainly have helped when editing the shows into films for cinema release but it was quite a strange choice for tv#tho perhaps a set cast reduced costs (this was clearly a budget production‚ tho it does feature some impressive early location shooting)#Slaughter is great fun‚ in full scenery chewing mode as the wicked and unrepentant mastermind behind all sorts of crimes#Barr even has personal beef with him‚ though it would require seeing the other eps to fully understand it i suspect

Details: Phosa & Linast
Mundane video technology hits something not unlike an uncanny valley for Phosa & Linast on two fronts:
1) Their spacial awareness is intense and encompasses the electromagnetic field around them, so trying to process 2D images as representations of 3D objects & space was a learning curve for them. Even after they learned the trick of it, it’s still more like viewing an autostereogram than anything natural or automatic. (They have to trick themselves into perceiving it as looking at something that is very far away and outside of themselves, even as it's (usually) radiating from inside their range of perception.) 2) They don't have a brain that smooths a rapid sequence of images into a perception of smooth motion for them, and while their conscious processing speed isn't precise or rapid enough for them to truly discern the actual movement of light through space (unless working with large enough distances), they can still sense it to some degree. Between those two factors, it's like touching a vibrating surface; they sure as heck couldn't count the individual jerks, but they can feel that something about the motion isn’t smooth.
Some of these factors were mitigated during that human incident, and it went a long way towards helping them figure out how to interpret 2D images the way most sighted humans do.

skinamarble hornets, i was like i hope my favorite skinamascene has been uplomarinked on youtube....reminds me of that season one marble hornets entry that's the First House Visit and how i saw it described somewhere as like "absolutely nothing happens, & it's terrifying" & it reminds me of the torment of watching as the series was released & Every Time something came out, no matter what happened in like setting, atmosphere, plot, scares, there'd be someone going "ugh another Nothing entry" over the most crucial &/or enjoyable shit so long as it didn't feature [& he's cookin hot dogs on the stove???] & didn't feature it like every other minute for good measure. as though a format that is predictable, like the promise of the same kind of scene in the same intervals of timing, would actually be scary or at all interesting. shoutout to these the entries, or even intervals of time within entries, where "absolutely nothing happens" and it's called suspense in knowing it Could, tension in an unsafe, uneasy, unsettling situation in the meantime, & then also potential followup recontextualization that only creates more tension for later similar material. ("absolutely nothing" happens (of course, actually, things happen, but) in the skinamarink scene save for the literal last few seconds when the "jumpscare" is a very brief change in audio & visuals which is neither actually that loud nor like showing anything scary(tm) (technically a la marble hornets i think people say you can like see an arm extend for a nanosecond but i never catch it if so lol) but rather hits at all because of 8 minutes of suspense & tension & Nothing Happening But It Could) (also bravely standing up like "it's fine that skinamarink has some jumpscares, including the obvious few even jumpier than this" like who cares if it's "easy" necessarily & also that Knowing such startlement can happen ramps up the tension even when it didn't, but it could've. like so)

on a completely separate note; shizun luo binghe with a disciple shen yuan who fell into the abyss??? *thinks about LBH canonically stealing SQQ's corpse for 5 years* he'd hallucinate i think. like, like visual and audial hallucinations.
Keeps thinking he's seeing SQQ in the corner of his eyes, or wandering between the trees, amongst a group of disciples. Thinks he hears him calling for him, but its just the wind or another disciple.
Gets Xiu Ya reforged but patently fucking refuses to make a sword mound. Because his disciple Is Not Dead :))) There was No Body. He's Not Dead. And If You keep Insisting That He Is, He's Gonna Skewer You :). He's holding onto Xiu Ya so he can return his most favored disciple's sword when he returns. It's on his hip right next to Zheng Yang where it's supposed to be.
Also this motherfucker?? does not sleep btw. He has the image of SQQ, wide eyed and hysterical and standing at the mouth of the abyss burned into his fucking eyelids. Can't use the dreamscape to escape it either because he keeps trying to save him and either he does and it's an incredibly cruel trick to wake up to, or he doesn't and he gets his heart broken in several different pieces again.
There is no convincing this man that Shen Qingqiu is dead. Absolutely nothing at all. He is buried so deep in denial that moles would be jealous of how deep he is. He keeps making tea for two in the bamboo house only to remember that it's just him. SQQ's fans are hiding everywhere, little reminders of his presence. He goes to wake up SQQ on the mornings he sleeps in-- only to find the room empty.

IF THIS HAD BEEN WHERE SQQ WAS THE HALF-HEAVENLY DEMON INSTEAD IT WOULD'VE BEEN SO GREAT.#and by great i mean horribly angsty bc SQQ is NOT doing too hot and has. in very SY-like fashion. convinced himself that LBH will kill him#when he finds out he's a demon. so when it comes out i have this mental image of him lunging at LBH and LBH flinches back. but SQQ wraps hi#hands around the blade of Zheng Yang and yanks it up so the tip of the blade is digging into his chest where is heart is. LBH can't yank th#sword away without risking slicing into SQQ's hands. SQQ's hair has fallen out of its tail/bun and is now messily spilling down his#back and its NO helping the kinda deranged look he has going on. he's visibly shaking and his eyes keep flittering away and back at LBH's#face. SQQ is looking at the messages from the system warning him that he has to go into the abyss or punishment will occur. he's like.#rambling though. talking about how shizun doesn't *like* unclean things and there is nothing more unclean than a demon. like he is#INSISTING. LBH can't?? get a fucking word in. actually. SY isn't listening that much either anyways. too overwhelmed with the system and#the amount of stress he's under and his crumbling mental state and the innate and primal desire to live even when he's standing in front of#his own executioner. it all ends with him sitting on the ground at the lip of the abyss with his hair falling in his face. he looks so#unkempt and fallen apart and so distinctly *non-Shen Qingqiu* that LBH feels physically ill over it. tears are streaming down SQQ's face#and despite everything he is smiling. its not a nice smile. its a very frayed falling apart at the seams about to crack smile.#he tells shizun not to worry about staining his blade with this disciple's filthy blood because this disciple will take care of it himself.#and then he falls into the abyss before luo binghe can so much as grab him. the only reason LBh doesn't literally jump in after him is bc#he was numb with shock and the abyss was already closed before he could feel his legs again :]
