Older!Eddie Headcanons

When I say older, I'm talking mid to late 40s. Bitch, I love me an older man and I feel like this fucker would be so fucking hot as a middle aged man. IDK if any of y'all have ever met a retired Metalhead/Rocker, but GODDAMN, they age like fine fucking wine.

I always picture Older!Eddie, with a biker look and covered in tattoos. Real intimidating, but pretty as sin with his salt and pepper beard and the silver streaks in his unruly mane. He’s probably a mechanic, or maybe a rockstar. 

He’s either divorced or a serial dater, maybe both, but as soon as he meets you, his eyes never wander. You’ll never know loyalty quite like that of Eddie Munson. 

You could meet anywhere. A coffee shop, the post office, maybe a gig, but wherever you are, his eyes are locked on you immediately, and he’s going back and forth on whether or not you’re too young for him. If you’d go for a washed-up metalhead when you could have your pick of all the other people he’d seen staring at you. 

That nagging insecurity from being bullied relentlessly as a child is still there. It always will be. However, his ability to put on a show instead of allowing his thoughts to eat him alive never fades, and he’d saunter over you with enough confidence that you can’t help but swoon.

He’d be very upfront about the fact that he is hitting on you, blatantly flirting with a cocky little smirk and cheesy pickup lines. They should be cheesy, but the way he delivers them, they sound smooth and suave. 

If you truly grab his attention, he won't fuck you the night he meets you. He’ll be a gentleman and walk you to your car or offer to drive you home, holding the door for you and everything, and ask to see you within the next few days. 

This man is thinking about fucking a baby into you from the second he lays eyes on you. He knows it’s wrong and that he shouldn’t be thinking about tying you down in such an extreme way, but he is the opposite of a slow burner. 

He’d try and have you move in with him after only spending one night together, desperate to keep you as close as possible while you’re still in the morning after honeymoon phase. 

I feel like he’d be possessive as fuck. He’s old enough that he doesn’t put up with games or any kind of back-and-forth. Eddie Munson knows what he wants, and he does not share. He’d keep a hand on your waist or resting on the swell of your ass whenever you’re out and about, especially in bars. He likes to make it very clear that you’re with him. 

Would be incredibly protective of you. He’ll protect what's his at any cost, and you can expect him to step in if someone so much as breathes any negativity your way. God forbid someone lays a hand on you, because this man will beat anyone who dares within an inch of their life. 

Side note, The thought of him just beating the shit out of someone on your behalf, cutting into their cheekbones with his heavy rings and drawing blood, is so fucking sexy oml. Maybe there’s something wrong with me, idk. ANYWAYS,

Okay I'm over the moon with the new update!!! I've played as much of it as possible but with how many options you put especially with the nsfw it didn't fit in my time yet. I'm writing this from work anyway lol.

First of all: THE DESIGNS!!! I thought I'd drop my hat with how good they looked especially with the few new poses!!! Tenebris still looks a good mix of cute and "scary" and Keith — his face is really sweet, that's all I'm saying with my name intact. I love how your art now has cleaner, thinner lines and a more lively shading(don't get me wrong I loved it always but it's just noticeable that you improved, especially with seeing Keith standing next to Melissa(? I'm at the moment praying I got the name right) who still has the old art style). The backgrounds seem interesting? They look amazing and very fitting for the game!!! It's just a little weird for them, especially the forest to not be colourful but it just takes getting used to. Now,:

DAY 5 SPOILERS

I really love how the story went forward, I like that seemingly the fae are more up our ass for some reason maybe besides hanging with the boys. The glitchy effects and those eyes? Perfect! Scared the living spirit out of me at first so it works well. I'm a little confused about us being able to sense Keith's thoughts but like only in one rout? Like I'm not sure how that's possible or why that didn't happen with Tenebris or maybe I just skipped something accidentally, but oh lord that was so nice!!! To kinda know what Keith is thinking?? Chef's kiss. I feel like in those thoughts more was shown of what we've seen here on the blog kinda? Especially when in that moment before having s-x(does tumblr have an issue with these words? Idk) he was worried we'd leave in the morning. Some of these small things really said more about his character. Although the nsfw scenes were ofc hot, I did enjoy more so how especially some of them gave a bit lore actually intimacy? Especially with before and after some small moments were just so sweet. (Ofc out of players curiosity I let my MC snoop a bit in some rounds and Keith's dairy? Damn it's sweet but holy f—, Tenebris's lil box is just kinda sweet/sad but it was such a nice little detail) The non nsfw routes actually struck me a little more this time tho. Tenebris being afraid of thunder is of course something I remembered from here but it's still adorable. Seeing him actually be a little more open and cuddly is always welcome, and the fact he purrs is still my favourite. With Keith's moments again I feel it's more of what we know from here put into the game, like how his parents don't see him much because of how raising them was, him trying to mold into an "easier" person and make up for the "trouble" of being around them. It honestly broke my heart a little cus I just would've wanted to hug him and tell him he's worth having supernatural beings wanting us dead(I'm happy we got to comfort him!!!). And I was quite shocked they killed that thing, from both of them, Keith a little more but still. I'm not quite sure about their reactions afterwards since both confused me a little but I'm sure I'll understand with time or from here. Keith's eyes getting red was sure something that surprised me but it's an interesting part. I did not all understand Tenebris's end, the getting sick? I guess stress can do that but asking us what we are and being scared? What the hell did he see/what happened?? I'm so intrigued with this story!

All together I'm really happy the boys are getting more comfortable/open and the story progress always has me on the edge, I loved the update for sure!!!(This doesn't necessarily need a reply, I just wanted to point out what I liked[and maybe gush about it] a little)

Sensing Keith’s thoughts is something that happens because of a combination of narrative convenience and the general chaos of Date 5 as a whole.

I kinda agree with this post but also kinda not quite? Like, maybe it's because I don't ship them that much 'cause I'm not a big shipper in general, really. But I wanna point some stuff out:

It's true that the movies don't really show their class difference as much. One would probably think they're just friends and that the Gamgees are specifically Bilbo's employees until Sam explains that he's Frodo's gardener in Two Towers. However, the movie version of Fellowship lacks the 17 year time gap and that's almost 2 decades of relationships and character development we're missing, and, for Frodo maturing as an adult and as the sole owner of Bag End. (My theory is that this is why the characters all seem younger than their OG counterparts but I digress)

Now, while reading Fellowship I found that Frodo and Sam do have a very respectful relationship which is definitely WAY deeper than the relationship an employer and his employee would normally have but it becomes obvious that Frodo very clearly underestimates Sam, his cleverness and his willingness to go behind his back regarding the secret mission and the hobbit conspiracy of his friends noticing and wanting to help him. This reads to me as Frodo thinking of Sam as a very "simple" man - there is another scene where he understands him wrong - I think it was about a silly song - but I can't remember the context rn. They very clearly have a power imbalance and Sam disobeyes Frodo's orders because he wants to be a good friend. I do think that there are a few moments in the books where Frodo orders Sam around like a servant - mostly in a joking way - and Sam almost always responds with something along the lines of "yes, boss!!". He just calls ´Frodo "boss" or "master" a lot (at least in my book's translation) while Frodo just calls him by his name and despite being the employee you could say that Sam is almost possessive of his boss. Without wanting to bash the ship, I do think rich boss x middle class employee isn't the healthiest relationship you can have if you rlly think about it. I do think their relationship becomes healthier while traveling to Mordor together alone because fighting for survival makes them become equals and grow an even deeper bond.

Regarding Frodo loosing trust in Sam, it's true that it wasn't in the books like that but I feel like it doesn't matter that much since it was obviously supposed to be a severe effect of the ring? There are scenes in the books where Frodo becomes suspicious of Sam for a moment or lashes out at him because his mind is totally scrambled and he regrets it 5 minutes later which he does in the movies after sending Sam away. So Idk. They probably wanted more drama and maybe sum up multiple scenes in one I believe.

This is just my 2 cents and my view on it so take it with a grain of salt. I do think the hobbit boys are soulmates and one of the healthiest, most affectionate ships out there but I also think that examining their critical parts makes shipping more interesting!

For the record, when the Ring isn’t in control, Frodo and Sam actually have an incredibly healthy relationship. Whether you ship them or just see them as friends, they really are goals in a lot of ways. The books show this way better than the movies, as despite their class difference, Frodo is so respectful toward Sam and never treats him like a servant, and unlike the stupid made-up scene in the movies, Frodo NEVER trusts Gollum over Sam or tells Sam to go home or doubts Sam’s loyalty for one moment. All of the dark and unpleasant moments between them are a direct result of the Ring’s effect on Frodo. Without the Ring, there is just pure mutual devotion and loyalty and kindness and tenderness between them - which, speaking as a shipper, is more than can be said about a good many popular ships.

I'm trying REALLY hard not to build up any solid expectations, because I wanna go in ~fresh~! they're already so far away from anything I thought would happen (not in a bad way, I'm just accepting that I'm on Miss Yana's Wild Ride at this point and we're seeing this thing through 'til the end, by gum). so it's nothing too major, but:

This gained some traction when I first posted it so I’ve decided I’m going to elaborate-slash-rant.

All I'd like to do once in a while is lose myself in a good book that I pick up off the shelves because it looks intriguing. How many times lately have you been able to do that, read it all the way through, and think wow, that was a really good book? I bet it's been a long time. It's because that all the books being published and getting popular are either A) inappropriate to some degree, B) just shoving representation down our throats, or C) repetitive.

I think the repetition is what really bogs me down. It feels like every fantasy and science-fiction teen/YA book is almost the same. Unique girl with special powers must take down either the government or a superpowered bad guy with her love interest. You know they'll end up together because it says so in the blurb on the back. You know the story already. Because you've read them a million times.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate romance. In fact, I adore it in a lot of books. I've gone insane over my fair share of fictional couples - ask any of my friends - and I always have at least a couple romantic sideplots in my own writing. Heck, I paired almost everyone up in my main writing project, and I’ve thought about each of them a considerable amount.

But the romance nowadays in particular feels like a mold authors just shoved into a book that ends up overshadowing the plot. Where's the slowburn? Where's the first kiss AFTER they get together? Where are the creative dynamics and the romance that's built on friendship and mutual trust and not oh no he's hot???

Shake them up a little, people! Write those crazy retellings you can't find anywhere else! Put Alice in Wonderland in a dystopia world or mix your favorite Jane Austen with a fairytale! Write a romance that's new and fresh! Write about an adult-aged character in a book aimed for teens - teens still need good role models in books! Like, can we please get the found family trope but from the parental figure's perspective? (Also what the heck is it with teen books about pirates where the captain is seventeen years old?! And she's suddenly capable and has her whole life figured out? She's going to be eaten ALIVE. I've never met a seventeen year old who has their life all figured out. I certainly didn't)

There was a period of time last year where I DNF-ed at least four books in a row because I thought they looked interesting only for them to either be inappropriate and/or go against my beliefs. It made me upset. I found ways to deal with it - channeling my spite into writing romance myself and eventually rereading one of my favorite books instead - but they weren't by finding other new books. Idk, man. It feels like we've gone downhill.

Write more things like the Queen's Thief. Lunar Chronicles. Hunger Games. Something unique, I'm begging you.

Noticing that TV and film will often have a character either have had an abortion in the past that isn't showcased on screen (and just used as part of the character's ~fucked up and twisted backstory~) OR contemplate getting an abortion in the present day but not to through with it. Screaming under my breath because I just got a work email that suggests my contact at Big Dictionary Sensitivity Project is not only taking a month to reply to my emails, she is also not looking at the attachments I am sending her. Which are what she's paying me to do. And which I've been trying to be as efficient about as possible because she's indicated funding is down for this project. It's kind of hard to explain without getting into tedious details that involves the phrase "so I emailed a spreadsheet to her and then" about sixty times but I'm very very annoyed and frustrated and baffled. I checked three or four times to make sure this fuckup is not my fault, but I literally cannot see any way it could happen except "she skim-read my emails and did not bother to open any of the spreadsheets I sent."

The thing is it's cost them money (in that there was duplicated work where they paid me and someone else to do the same thing) so now I'm filled with dread and anguish also. Argh. Maybe I should have sent the emails to everyone but I was just replying to the person who reached out to me to check on progress so idk how I could have known that????? There has been so little communication ;_;

Star has a point, idk what the four were ticked off about, there is like 99% chance everyone willingly participated in the trolley problem, based on what we've seen of his behavior thus far it's not like Starlo to be that big of a jerk/drag them by force/yell at them to do it. Ed's words:

It genuinely seemed like a fun time/fun roleplay, especially since every day is the same. Like, the five are supposed to be a rowdy and adventures bunch, what exactly did Starlo do wrong, I'm genuinely confused and curious. Except taking a big liking in Clover (his posse should know that this is a big moment for him, according to Blackjack they've known each other since high school and had the same liking for westerns. So they were basically a nerd gang.) Starlo was kind, patient and considerate towards Clover the whole time, even warned Mooch about them not being bandits, taught Clover gun safety, wanted to bring his posse along for a fun time, thanked Ace for telling him about getting Clover a new hat...

Sure, at first he only liked Clover for being a human, but as Ceroba says, that changed and he grew to genuinely care about them, plus I can't help but think Star saw himself in Clover and that's part of the reason he was so proud of them all the time even when they messed up (I'll talk more about this at some point)

What exactly made Ace want to leave the gang? He even said how he doesn't mind "getting run over by the fake train"

The only real "faults" (I'll call them temporary faults) I saw in Star during the Wild East section was that he was even more enthusiastic and more proud than usual. But how couldn't he be when he met a member of the species that he has admired for so long because they have real cowboys and sheriffs on the surface (who are seen as brave heroes who deliver justice, while Star canonically feels like a nobody farmer). His posse should have realized Clover wouldn't be there forever and just let their boss enjoy himself with his "deputy who'd have to leave sooner or later anyway"(or be more patient with him/ask him why he feels this strongly towards Clover/if there's a deeper reason for that). His friends including Ceroba just turn their back on him so quickly instead. The moment he's gotten the chance to feel valued for once and put himself first and not have to take care of this whole town and everyone in it and live his dream of meeting a real human, suddenly "his personality is damaged?"

Star's literally built this whole town, organised everything, he worries about everyone, Ceroba (plus was the one to give her emotional strength before and after Clover's sacrifice), Kanako, the monsters, his family, struggles with feelings of worthlessness yet never wipes that smile off his face, always does his best to be hopeful and optimistic and make others laugh, gave his posse a nap time so they don't become exhausted, gave Ceroba a free home, didn't act upon his feelings towards her and was a 110% supportive, caring friend instead. THAT'S who he is. He's the papa bear of this friend group, the glue holding everyone together.

He was just *really* excited. Y'all know he's insecure and just wishes to escape who he is and yet y'all blame him for liking Clover so much. Yeah, the four are very clearly jealous. But why won't the four of you control your feelings for a while? As mentioned, Clover WILL HAVE TO LEAVE EVENTUALLY. They won't be Star's "deputy" forever (the kid who's just as into westerns as he is, who values justice just as much, who also values doing the right thing. Someone he clearly felt understood in the presence of, whom he loved; just look at the way he talks about Clove during Showdown). Star seems genuinely confused of what he did wrong poor guy just wanted to live his fantasy for once and feel important:

Even at the beginning Moray's like "oh no Martlet is upset" Mooch replies "don't be a buzzkill nothing exciting ever happens around here" and Ray's like "Yeah you've got a point"

If you all agreed to have a little fun with a human who will very soon leave forever why is Starlo's enthusiasm such a big problem? If the posse weren't into this after all (unless they were simply too jealous which could have been solved with a honest talk and a little patience) why are you doing this "rowdy" job with Star in the first place? Do you want your boring routine day to day life so much back? Or just for Clover to leave (which they will soon enough)? You, western enthusiasts, literally met a real human, A HUMAN FROM WESTERNS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PASSIONATELY INTO (clearly not as passionate as Star but passionate ENOUGH to understand where he's coming from).

honestly I'd been pretty convinced that 13 would be the end -- or that there might be, like, an epilogue chapter or something, but this would at least be the end of the main plot of 7. but now it looks like the Armor of Dawn Silver card is actually going to be for the second half next week, so...now I'm right back in "WHAT IS HAPPENING" camp! like, I can see a couple of possibilities of how that might still work out, but...well. I guess we'll find out tonight. :')
