I love ur fics ❤️ can you do an Oscar x reader fic where she can’t find Oscar in the paddock and is panicking and goes to lando for help x
i'm here but i'm lost in crowd
pairing: oscar piastri x reader note: you guys seem to really love platonic lando lol so here's another one <3 also i’m sorry i somehow misread your request to reader getting lost and not losing oscar…
the united states grands prix were by far the most chaotic races of the season. normally, you didn’t prioritise them—the time-zones messed with your sleep schedule, the amount of spectators became overwhelming, and oscar had so many media duties that he barely had time for you, so why spend precious days off when you could use them on less crowded grands prix?—but you had time off either way, so on a 20 hour flight to the other side of the world you were.
you tried to stay close to kim as you arrived at the paddock. he was the person on oscar’s team who you knew and trusted the most, and he was more than happy to let you tag along to his duties, but eventually, he had to go to a meeting, and then you had to find somewhere else to go.
at first, you decided to stay in the hospitality area, too afraid of getting lost to wander about, but it quickly started to bore you. there were no familiar faces, and you grew tired of sitting alone in a corner.
walking outside the mclaren building, you were immediately met with the rush of people walking around you. the air was full of excitement and anticipation—the usual on a race weekend—and you couldn’t help but smile. this was why you wanted to come to as many races as possible; you absolutely loved the atmosphere.
smiling, you walked through the paddock, waving to fans when they noticed you, stopping briefly to say hi to engineers and other mclaren personnel as you passed them, and before you knew it, you found yourself in a completely unfamiliar place.
you looked around, realising just how disoriented you were. the hum of the paddock, which had initially filled you with excitement, now felt like an overwhelming blur. faces passed by too quickly to register, people walking around everywhere and your heart started to race as the nagging feeling grew—where were you?
the crowds seemed to move faster now, making you feel even more isolated. the rush of people, the sounds of chatter and excitement, the bright texas sun bearing down—it all added to the growing panic in your chest. you tried to retrace your steps in your mind, thinking back to how you'd ended up here, but the more you thought about it, the more it seemed like you’d wandered too far. you could feel your throat tightening as you scanned the sea of unfamiliar faces. why hadn’t you just stayed in the mclaren hospitality?
you reached for your phone, intending to send an SOS to someone from the team, but your pockets were empty. had you really been stupid enough to forget your phone?
as the realisation that you really were alone settled in your body, you took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down. you could do this. you’d been to enough races by now to find your way back, right?
but no matter how much you told yourself that, the panic only grew. what if you walked the wrong way and ended up even further from where you were supposed to be? what if you bumped into the wrong crowd and caused a scene? the paddock suddenly felt more intimidating than exciting, the noise drowning out your thoughts, leaving you frozen in place.
just as you felt yourself spiraling, a voice broke through the chaos.
“hey!” a voice called out your name. “what are you doing out here alone?"
you spun around so fast that you nearly stumbled, heart pounding in your chest as your eyes landed on the familiar face of lando norris. relief flooded through you so intensely that for a second, you couldn’t even form words. lando was standing just a few feet away, his helmet under one arm, a slightly confused but amused look on his face. he took a step closer, raising an eyebrow as he glanced around.
“pretty far from mclaren territory, aren’t you?” he teased, though his tone was light, and there was a softness in his eyes when he looked back at you.
you sighed, running a hand through your hair. “i don’t even know how it happened. i was fine, just walking around, and then all of a sudden, nothing looked familiar anymore. and now i just—” you trailed off, feeling a little ridiculous for admitting how overwhelmed you were.
lando’s expression softened when he noticed the genuine worry in your eyes. “hey, it’s alright,” he said, his voice gentle now. “it happens to the best of us. this place can be a maze if you’re not paying attention. if i had a dollar for every time someone got lost in this paddock, i’d have… well, probably enough to buy a few extra helmets.” he smiled when you laughed at his words, glancing around, as if to get his bearings, before his eyes landed back on you. “come on, i’ll walk you back before oscar starts a search party.”
you let out a breath of relief, feeling the tension in your chest loosen just a little. “thanks, lando.”
“don’t mention it,” he replied with a wink. “besides, it’s not every day i get to play the hero.”
you rolled your eyes shaking your head slightly, and as you continued walking through the paddock, the surroundings began to look more familiar. with lando’s easy-going presence beside you, the fear that had gripped you earlier seemed almost ridiculous now.
“you know,” he said after a few moments of walking in companionable silence, “i think oscar might owe me for this one. saving his girlfriend from the wild paddock? that’s gotta be worth at least a couple free dinners, right?”
you couldn’t help but laugh, the sound of it surprising even yourself. “i’ll make sure he knows just how heroic you’ve been today.”
lando smirked, glancing sideways at you. “good. i expect a full report.” there was a moment of silence before he continued. “honestly, though,” lando continued, glancing at you, “if you miss someone to hang out with, you should just stick with me more often. i’ll make sure you never get lost again.
“thank you, lan.” you smiled earnestly up at him.
as you neared the mclaren building, the bustling crowd became more familiar, and the sight of papaya clad engineers and personnel milling around instantly brought a sense of comfort. you exhaled, feeling the last remnants of anxiety melt away.
“here we are,” lando announced grandly, gesturing toward the motorhome. “safe and sound, thanks to your friendly neighborhood norris.”
you shook your head, a laugh escaping you. “i really appreciate it, lando. seriously.”
“anytime,” he replied, grinning widely. “i’ll always be happy to help.”

Betrayal
PAIRING: Agatha Harkness x Reader
SUMMARY: The reader is heartbroken and finds comfort in the arms of her best friend.
Or who betrayed who...
WARNING(s): Cheating, manipulation, and a whole lot of SMUT.
A/N: My fixation for this woman is just unhealthy and I'm loving it. Enjoy!
Y/N POV
"The day we met was the day I was no longer a man of my own because from that very moment I surrendered myself to you and you alone, my Y/N. "
Those were the exact words that my beloved husband said to me during our wedding vows. The words that made me feel like I was the luckiest woman alive… not until now.
Greg looks so handsome when he smiles, the way his eyes disappear with such mirth. Especially right now as he dances, swaying his body to the rhythm of the music. He's not really a fan of dancing but he tried it for me because he knew how much I love dancing, it made me feel special. But now as I watch him do exactly what I had originally thought he'd only do for me, with another woman nestled intimately between his arms made me realize that I wasn't as special as I thought I was.
The way he dances is so much better than how he used to as if he's been doing this for some time now. I originally thought the reason why he's been coming home late was due to his busy work schedule because that's exactly what he's been telling me, I guess I was wrong.
My husband is no longer mine alone…
Tears silently streamed down my cheeks unnoticed as I willed myself to turn away from the scene that turned my world upside down…
The moment I went inside my car that's when all hell broke loose. I screamed and screamed until my throat felt raw and scratched while banging my fists against the wheel.
Cursing his name for the lies, cursing him for the promises, and cursing him for causing me the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life.
My heart feels like it has been punctured a million times over by tiny pins. It stings at first, but now it feels as if they’ve left me numb, not even slightly painful, just numb.
How could he do this to me? How could he cheat on me and throw years of marriage into the dust as if it meant nothing?! I gave him everything, I fully surrendered myself to him without reserve as I thought he would do the same to me… oh how wrong I was…
I cried even harder just thinking of his betrayal but I was also starting to panic as I felt my chest constrict, making it difficult for me to breathe.
Damn asthma…
I looked through my bag for my inhaler, but it was not there. The panic and lack of air drove me to start gasping, breathing as if the oxygen had been sucked from the air around me.
I clumsily grabbed my phone and dialed the first person I could think of at this dire moment.
After the final ring, I immediately spoke before the woman on the other line had the chance with labored breaths.
"A-agatha… I need you, please."
"Y/N? What's going on? Where are you? Are you hurt?" Despite the buzzing in my head and wheezing from my chest I can still hear the urgency and worry in her voice as she spewed one question over another.
"Ha-hades Den… please hu-hurry. Can't breathe." I stuttered through the desperate sobs that left my lips, alerting the woman in the other line even more.
"Hades Den? The dance studio? I'll be there as fast as I can, just be somewhere safe and stay on the line with me." Agatha instructed but I could barely hear anything she was saying as I struggled to control my breathing. With my hands cold and shaking I accidentally let go of my phone making it fall next to the pedals.
"Sweetheart? Hey, I'm on the road right now. Hello? Are you still there? Y/N? Please answer me, you're gonna give me a heart attack!"
Already my thoughts were becoming jumbled like I was in a nightmare. Without uttering another sound the side of my face met the tinted window as darkness overtook my vision and my eyes closed.
_=_=_
Not really knowing how long I was out when I was suddenly jolted from my position when the door opened and I fell into the arms of my best friend who without a doubt caught me safely in her arms.
"Oh my God! Y/N!! What happened to you?!" Agatha asked worriedly.
I clung to Agatha’s arms as she helped me out of my car. She held an inhaler to my lips and I immediately took a puff, holding it in for a count of four before slowly expelling the air that tasted of chemicals. It was kinda bitter really, but after so long with asthma, I had come to associate it with easier breathing and so in a weird sort of way I liked it. Agatha put the cap back on the inhaler and jammed it deep into her pocket.
"Ho-how did you know I needed that?" I asked.
"We've known each other since we were teens, sweetheart, I'm fully aware whenever my best friend is having an asthma attack."
One of her hands kept me balanced while the other one cradled the side of my face trying to get a glimpse of my eyes.
The moment our eyes met I could see my reflection in her beautiful blue orbs, and I looked exactly like how I felt… like shit… making me release another stream of tears down my cheeks.
"Sweetheart, please tell me. What happened?" she worriedly asked again while wiping my tears off with her thumb.
I couldn't really tell her at the moment, I just wanted to get out of here.
"Take me away, please" I softly begged, my voice barely a whisper but I knew she heard me as understanding can be seen in her eyes.
She gently guided me towards the passenger seat of her car and put my seatbelt on me before settling on the driver's seat.
"I'll call someone to drive your car home," she informed me, I softly nodded in response. I leaned my head to the side of the window with my eyes closed as Agatha drove off away from the studio, away from my cheating husband.
_-_-_
"Y/N, wake up. We're here."
I woke up to Agatha's face close to mine as she gently shook me awake.
I was a little bit startled by how close her face was to mine, it was so close that I could feel her breath gently caress my cheek.
"U-um… okay," I gulped nervously, she only smiled before getting out of the car.
Surveying my surroundings, that's when I realized that she brought me to her house.
Agatha opened the door for me and gently took my hand in hers to assist me, leading me inside her humble abode.
Once inside the house, I was met with silence. Too quiet for what I was used to.
"Where’s Nicky?" I asked curiously as I sat down on the sofa while she disappeared to the kitchen.
"Nicky is having a sleepover with his friends. I also gave the staff some days off so it's just us here," she explained, coming back to me with a tray of water and alcohol.
"Alcohol?"
"I have a feeling we're gonna be needing it" she smiled mischievously before turning serious.
"So… are you gonna tell me what happened or should I play the guessing game?" she asked while pouring me a glass of expensive scotch.
"Greg." uttering his name leaves a bitter taste on my tongue. Much more bitter than the alcohol that I'm currently pouring down my throat.
"What's wrong with your husband?" Agatha asked while taking a sip from her glass.
"He's cheating on me."
Shock and disbelief painted Agatha’s face, while I tried my best to keep my tears from falling.
"You're kidding."
"I can assure you I'm not, I saw it with my own two eyes."
As Agatha sat there in shock, she laid it on heavy. "I told you he was no good! He is nothing but a cheating bastard!" After a breath, she continued, "He was never good enough for you anyway." Agatha’'s words rang true as my world started to fall apart.
Finally, I looked up with tears in my eyes asking, "What do I do? Leave him?"
Agatha doesn't even hesitate, "Hell yes! He doesn't deserve someone special like you."
I just sat and listened to whatever Agatha has to say as well as getting a little too deep with the alcohol consumption.
"You see, sweetheart, men like Greg are like damn leeches that suck the life from anything they come in contact with. He doesn't deserve an angel like you." she said with such seriousness which actually made me giggle a bit despite everything, probably because I'm getting really tipsy. I'm also starting to believe every word that comes out from her luscious red lips…
Wait, What the hell am I thinking?!
I shook my head trying to get these… Um...weird thoughts about my best friend's kissable lips and what they probably taste like.
Arghh!! What the hell brain?!
"Hey, are you alright?" Agatha looked at me as if I've grown two heads on the spot, which made me blush out of embarrassment.
"Ye-yeah… Sorry… I'm getting a little too tipsy." I mumbled before getting up from the spot, which was a bad move since I lost my balance and fell backward into Agatha's lap.
"Well, this is comfortable" Agatha smirked as she wrapped her arms securely around my waist which only brought more blood flowing through my cheeks.
"A-agatha what are you doing?" I asked while trying to get her hands off me but failed miserably. She only laughed at my attempts and I was starting to get irritated not until I felt her warm lips softly pressed against my nape.
I went completely rigid from the contact, breath hitching, and my mind running wild with what the hell is going on.
"Is something wrong?" Agatha asks with a grin plastered on her face.
"N-nothing." I stuttered back to her.
Oh god, what do I do?!
"Are you sure? You seem a little flustered. Especially when you were eyeing my lips minutes ago" she asks before pausing, "It's as if you have been thinking of doing something with them."
"Agatha, I... I can explain." I tried to argue, yet I had no argument in my head.
"No need to, I understand. I've wondered for a very long time how your lips would taste as well," she whispered next to my ear. Her breath tickles my now sensitive skin.
Before I could react I felt Agatha's hand on my arm, I almost jumped out of my skin.
"Why don't we stop this little game," Agatha says, bringing her hand to my chin and making me look into her burning blue eyes, "And just… Give… In."
Oh my god! What should I do? This is so wrong.
"That's enough Agatha. I don’t want that and you won't speak to me like this any longer. I’m not like you… I’m not into women and married.”
"We both know that’s a lie,” Agatha whispered, and I watched as my best friend's hands moved to the buttons of my shirt. I could only watch her playing with it, slowly unbuttoning it one by one. "I think you do want it… In fact, I think you're deeply curious about it. You know I can treat you better, and make you feel even better than any man could."
"Aggie..." I went to protest.
"Shhhh." She whispers to interrupt me.
Frozen in my place, I was helpless to simply watch as my childhood best friend now fully unbuttoned my shirt. Her soft, slender hands move to the inside and effortlessly start to push the shirt to the side, exposing just a little of my bare skin.
"Give in, pet. Let your curiosity run wild" Agatha whispers.
My gaze meets her's, her soft lips smiling back at me as I feel soft fingertips running against my skin.
That's when I decided to surrender myself to this gorgeous woman holding me.
In a smooth and quick motion, Agatha pushes the shirt and it falls over. Only being held up by my arms, yet now my front body was fully on show. Wearing just a lace push-up bra, I remained still as Agatha's fingertips continued to explore my body.
"Do you like it when I touch your body like this?"
Oh god, please help me.
"Y-yes." I stuttered back, closing my eyes as goosebumps appeared all over my body.
Knowing that I was losing control of myself.
She smoothly moved her head forward, her soft, delicious lips ever so slightly brushing against my ear as she whispers in the most seductive of tones.
"Does it feel good baby?"
"I...I....I..." I stuttered back, not being able to speak.
Closing my eyes and feeling Agatha’s warm breath on my ear makes my legs feel like jelly. I can already tell that my warmth is absolutely soaked.
Her hands explored my back and found their way to my bra strap.
"Cat got your tongue?" She whispers into my ear, her tongue slightly leaving her mouth and licking my ear lobe.
I gasped out loud.
My bra strap was unhooked. Pulling her head back, Agatha’s face was filled with joy as she kept a hold of the bra and pulled it back and off my body.
My body, no longer fighting any of Agatha's advancements allowing her to remove my bra, now sitting with my breasts on show.
With a slow movement, Agatha cups my right breast. Slowly playing with it, she flicks her thumb over the nipple over and over.
"Ooohh." I accidentally moan, my legs feeling weak beneath me.
"Do you like that?" Agatha whispers.
"Y-yes," I whispered back.
She continued to play with my nipple in her hand, knowing that I will soon be too far gone to turn back.
"What about this?"
My eyes were wide open in shock and a gasp escaped my lips as Agatha swiftly laid me on my back on the sofa while she hovered over my flushed body. She didn't waste any time and moved her head forward, her soft, plump lips landing around my nipple. Her wet tongue comes out and flicks it, running around in small circles.
I can't stop myself from letting out soft moans, my nipples have always been my weak point. As I looked down at Agatha’s soft dark hair, feeling her tongue playing with my nipple my legs begin to squirm.
She sucks on my nipple and nibbles down on it with her teeth.
"Oooohh." I moaned louder.
"Aggie, this is wrong." I panted out weakly.
"Yet, here we are," Agatha says, giving one last lick before pulling her mouth away. Keeping her hand on my breast, I feel like she had me lying here forever. "Why are you fighting this?" She asks.
Her hand pulls away from my breast. Just when I thought it might be over, Agatha’s hand returns softly to my pants-covered thigh. Instinctively, I slightly opened it and allowed my best friend's hand to run between them, ever so slowly getting closer and closer to my center.
Finally reaching it, she popped off the button and inserted her hand inside my pants, gave my warmth a slow rub from outside my underwear, and whispered.
"Why are you so wet?"
"I.... don't know." I tried to think of an answer but my mind is somewhere else.
"Hmmm… I think you do know. It's because you want this… need this…" Agatha pushed my underwear to one side; she easily slid one finger knuckle deep inside of my drenched warmth.
"Oooohhh." I moaned, biting down on my lip.
"Am I right, baby?." Agatha whispers, arching her finger inside my warmth, rubbing against my G-spot.
"Ooooh god." I moaned louder, closing my eyes and allowing myself to be fingered right here in my best friend's living room.
My head is a mess, the pure pleasure coming from Agatha's finger just increases when she easily pushes a second finger inside and perfectly hits my G-spot.
"Answer me, Y/N," Agatha demanded.
"Yyyyeesss." I moaned out in pure ecstasy.
"Yes, what?" She asks with a smile, knowing she had me where she wanted me.
"Yes, I want it," I said firmly, opening my eyes and staring at her beautiful face.
This spurred her to increase the pace of her fingering.
"Yes!" I moaned over and over, my G-spot getting hit by her amazing fingers.
"Good," Agatha says firmly and pulls her fingers out of my warmth, "Let's take this to the bedroom."
I know I should stop this, deep down I know this is wrong and that this can only end badly. But right now, I was no longer thinking with reason.
"Okay," I whispered.
She grabbed my hand and led me to her bedroom.
Finally, in the room, she shuts the door before sitting on the bed.
"Take off your underwear," Agatha commanded.
Not speaking, I bent over and pushed my underwear off. Now standing completely naked, by choice, in front of my best friend.
"Come sit next to me."
Sitting down, we stared at each other. For a moment, thinking of what is about to happen made my body almost shaking with excitement.
Agatha’s hand appeared on my thigh and once again instinctively I opened them. Her fingertip moves to my swollen clit.
"Oh god..." I gasped. Looking her dead in the eyes as she slowly massages my clit, sending so much pleasure throughout my body.
As my breathing gets heavier and heavier, my legs begin to twitch from every flick of Agatha's finger.
Not being able to control myself any longer, I moved my head forward and captured Agatha's lips with mine. Savoring her cherry-flavored chapstick.
As our kiss deepens, her fingers move faster on my clit making my legs twitch from pleasure.
My hand started to explore Agatha's body, caressing with such gentleness and sensuality. Landing my hand on her thigh, I gripped it tightly as I could feel myself nearing my release but before it reached that point, Agatha suddenly pulled her hand away from my aching warmth, making me whine in frustration.
Stopping the kiss, I stared at her in confusion. But before I could say anything she placed her fingers on my mouth and pushed it in, making me taste my arousal. It was divine…
With the combination of alcohol and pure lust burning through my system, I began to suck on her fingers as if they were a lolly whilst staring into her eyes, making her groan in approval.
The moment my mouth left her fingers, Agatha stood up and undressed with such speed I could barely process how she did it, but here she is now completely bare for me to see and worship.
I was still sitting on the edge of the bed when Agatha gently straddled me, our naked chests deliciously pressing against each other.
She grabbed my head and held it just inches away from hers, staring at each other's eyes.
"Touch me," She ordered.
Not having to be told twice, my hand goes to her smooth warmth which is just as wet as her own. With ease, I pushed my index finger inside and started to rub it against Agatha's G-spot.
"Ohhh yes!" She moans loudly. She looks down at herself fingering me whilst I fingered her. Looking back up we moaned in unison.
"Oh fuck yes!" Agatha moans out, pushing in to kiss me hard as the two of us finger each other.
This continues for a few minutes, each of our moans growing louder and louder.
"Lie down on your back baby," Agatha instructed as she pulled away from me. I was so close to my release but didn't mind it one bit for I was more than excited about what was to come next.
Lying down flat, I watched as she parted my legs and began kissing slowly up to the insides of my thighs.
She went closer and closer to my warmth until it was staring directly at her.
I turned red as a tomato as I saw how Agatha looked at my warmth, she was looking at it as if she wanted to devour it.
"Beautiful," she whispered and slowly moved forward.
Her tongue pushed inside of me and tasted my nectar. With her eyes closed, she explored my warmth. I can feel her running her tongue up and down my soft lips. In and out of my hole before finally reaching my throbbing clit.
"Mmmmm yes!" I moaned when Agatha's tongue first flicked my clit.
The way she was looking at me right now made everything so much hotter, and with it, a moan left my lips.
Agatha moaned back before getting her tongue back onto my sensitive clit.
"Don't stop,”
I slowly started to grind my warmth back and forth on Agatha's eager tongue.
My legs were spread wide, accepting the finger fucking in my warmth as the sound of my juices filled the room.
"Mmmmmm! A-aggie… I'm close.”
"You want to cum all over my face, baby? You want to cum on your best friend's face?" Agatha moaned but didn't even give me a chance to reply when her hands gripped my thigh firmly and in one quick motion slid her fingers knuckle deep into my tight, dripping warmth.
"AGATHAA!!!" I screamed out in pure pleasure and arched my back as my warmth flooded over Agatha's face. An earth-shattering orgasm wrecked my body over and over again.
As my body carries on shaking as my orgasm slowly dies down, Agatha, still hooked on my delicious warmth, carries on licking me, lapping up every drop of cum as she can while continuously she fingers my overstimulated warmth.
"Agatha, stop." I panted out, feeling too sensitive after cumming.
"Just one more, baby. Give me one more." She coos, with her words I screamed as my second orgasm was ripped from me. This time squirting all over my best friend's face and soaking the silk sheets that she shares with her wife. The taste of my sweet release on her tongue, and the magnificent sight of me squirting was too much for Agatha, making her cum hard with a primal moan.
After cleaning my warmth with her tongue she sits to the side and just stares at me with a beautiful smile on her face, looking quite proud of herself. I can see my juice dripping from her chin and some still glossing her lips which she seductively licks with her tongue, while her eyes are devouring mine.
What a sight…
She starts to slide her fingers around my lips. The fingers that were just in my warmth.
"Mmmm." I moaned as I happily took them into my mouth before her fingers were replaced with her soft lips.
Our lips parted before staring deeply into each other's eyes. All I could see in her eyes was pure admiration, desire, and…love?
"You're mine now, sweet thing, and I will not let anyone come in between us… never again." She whispered before gathering me into her arms with my head resting on her chest.
Her words ring inside my head, but I find myself loving the idea of being with Agatha, not quite processing the last part of her declaration which I gladly dismissed. All I can think about is that she wants me to be hers, and that made me feel like the whole damn zoo was having a party inside my tummy.
"Yours" I softly whispered with a bright smile on my face.
For a few minutes, we just both laid there basking in each other's warmth in silence. The smell and taste of my release filled our senses, and the room itself. It was the last thing my mind processed before letting sleep take me into the arms of my new lover.
_=_=_
It was a little before 11 pm when I pulled into the garage of my mansion, a mansion I share with my cheating husband. Thinking about it should've still made me feel bad, but that wasn't the case anymore. Because all I can ever think about the moment I left Agatha's home was her touches, kisses, and sweet words that she constantly whispered in my ears.
I came in the door a bit tired from the earlier activities but with a glowing smile still etched on my face. I set my bag and jacket on the kitchen table before I saw Greg eagerly enter the living room and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw me. "Wow, honey, you...you look glowing."
I just smiled a wicked little before answering in a slightly snarky tone. "Oh, thanks, honey."
If only you knew how I got this glow…
"Where have you been? I've been calling your phone non-stop but you weren't answering. I was so worried." Greg said, his voice raw with worry.
Getting fucked by my best friend in a much better way than you'd ever could… no biggie. I wish I could say these words out loud but I did my best to refrain from doing so, instead, I went into acting mode.
"Oh, I'm so sorry hon. I forgot my phone in my car. I was with Agatha the whole time, and well, we got busy…so busy that the time completely slipped my mind." I explained with my most convincing voice.
You cheating bastard don't deserve a single damn explanation from me, but I'll play your game, Greg… just for the kick of it.
"Well, I'm just glad you're home safe and sound. By the way, I have a surprise for you. I know I've been really busy lately, but I want to make it up to you tomorrow night."
"Oh, that's nice," I answered, not overly excited but still kept on indulging him.
"And to celebrate the anniversary of our marriage, maybe even a bigger surprise for you. I learned to dance." Greg happily announced, I on the other hand am confused as hell.
Shit, I didn't even realize the date for tomorrow is our anniversary. At that moment, Greg stepped toward me, pulled me in, and waltzed with me a few steps. While we danced, he said, "I have been taking lessons twice a week. I know I am no expert dancer, but I wanted to do this for you. I even have reservations for us."
I continued moving with Greg, my eyes wide and in shock as my mind started to spin. I suddenly stopped and just stood there. All I could think was 'this can't be. There is no way it was just dancing. He was cheating on me. He had to be cheating on me.' I had tears streaming down my face as I thought of what I had done earlier.
"Honey, I also took the liberty of buying the dress you saw last week when we went to the mall. I know it's a big surprise but we have all night to dance the night away." I was in shock as I continued to stare at him. And all I could ask is, "How?"
"Well, it wasn't easy. About two months ago, I was talking with Agatha, and I was saying how I wanted to do something big like learn to dance. She said she knew someone who offers dance lessons. So, for a week during lunch, we would work on a few basics in my office. Then, we progressed to going out dancing every Tuesday and Thursday at Hades Den, the dance studio. I invited my dance instructor and her fiancé to join us. I thought I owed them a nice night out after how helpful they have been. I'm so glad Agatha managed to keep it from you, I made her swear not to, so the surprise won't be spoiled. I was quite shocked since we both know she can't even keep a secret." Greg chuckled.
Hearing Agatha's name was enough to snap me out of my trance, "A-agtha knew?"
"Oh, she more than knew. She knows all about the entire plan. Sometimes she'd go to Hades den to make sure I'm progressing. Your best friend really wants the best for you, she's a gem. You're so lucky to have her in your life, in our life."
My mind started racing, and my breathing was getting shallower with every second that passed by. Greg saw this and immediately ran to my bag and grabbed my inhaler.
No… no… this can't be true…this can't be true. It doesn't make any sense… why would Agatha keep this… Agatha lied… she lied… and then she seduced me… we fucked… Greg never cheated… Agatha knew… we fucked… Greg didn't cheat… But I did… I cheated… I'm the cheater and not Greg… I cheated…
My mind was in jumbles as Greg placed the inhaler on my lips asking me to open my mouth… but I don't think I want to… I wanna drown in this asthma and just die on the spot.
Tears streamed down my cheeks as the feeling of guilt and betrayal started to eat me whole. My husband's worried voice feels like a faraway echo, as my mind is consumed by one question.
Agatha… What did you make me do?

Pairing: Joe Burrow x Reader

Joe was deep in thought as he was on a popular restaurant's website looking at their menu to see everything that they offered. He knew that you, his girlfriend, was extremely picky and had a shit ton of allergies and had to make sure they had options that you could pick from.
He was convinced that your diet consisted of chicken nuggets and iced coffee and got on you all the time about it. His goal was to take you there for date night seeing as you had both been busy all week and now you were going to spend the weekend with him before going to his game on Sunday.
The restaurant had amazing reviews and the person who had told him about it and also made the reservation for it was Ja'Marr who was also on the phone, as Joe had put it on speaker so that he was able to talk to him and look at the website at the same time.
“I think Y/N is hiding something from me.” He blurted out as it had been on his mind for the last few days and he thought that he was going to explode if he didn't say anything to someone soon. He figured that telling one of his best friends was a good choice.
“Wait, what? That was random. Why do you say that? Your girl literally worships the ground you walk on and you do the same thing with her.”
“Something just seems off. I find her sometimes going to a different room to answer her phone, which she protects with her damn life by the way.”
“Don't we all? That doesn't mean anything.”
“No, not like she does. And do you know that I've never stayed at her place before?”
“Huh? The two of you have been together for what seems like forever.” Ja'Marr asked as he was moving around his kitchen and trying to find something to snack on.
“A few months but it's weird. Whenever I propose the idea, she immediately shuts it down. Claiming that my house is closer to her job, which is true but I don't know.”
“I think you’re paranoid and probably thinking too much into this. Y/N is amazing and she can do no wrong in my eyes.”
“Because you love whenever she cooks and tells me to invite you over too, but what if I'm right?”
“Hey! That just happens to be a plus but if you're right then confront her about it and the two of you act like adults and go from there. Just keep in mind she's making me salted caramel cookies next week. Don't mess up my supply.”
“Your supply? You act like we're talking about drugs when we are literally talking about cookies. And she just seemed so stressed out this week so the last thing I want to do is send her over the edge.”
“When it comes to her cooking, it might as well be crack! It's addicting! Look, if it comes up then you two talk about it and if it doesn't just wait for the right time. I'm sure that there's a good explanation to all of this.”
“I'm ignoring the part about the crack.”
“But you didn't ignore it because you just mentioned it.”
“Talking to you should not stress me out as much as it does.” Joe replied as he rolled his eyes and ran a hand through his hair.
“Keep in mind, YOU called me and I made the reservation for you so be nice!”
“Mm hmm.”
“Look, just let me know how it goes once you talk to her.”
Later on that evening, the two of you were now sitting across from one another in a secluded corner of the restaurant sharing the dessert that you had picked out. Joe wasn't one to eat a lot of sweets during the season, however for you he'll always make an exception.
You held your fork up to Joe's mouth and was encouraging him to take a bite but he was looking at you suspiciously before looking at the dessert and then looking back at you.
“Joey! Open!”
“Um.. what is this again?”
“It's a pistachio cheesecake. It's good, come on taste it.”
“It looks weird. And wait! Aren't you allergic to pistachios?”
“No, I got an allergy test done recently and apparently I'm not allergic anymore.”
“How reliable is that? The last thing I need is your throat closing. Do you have benadryl just in case? I'm about to call 911 so that they can be on standby.”
“I planned for my throat to close around something else tonight, but yes.” You told Joe as you winked at him.
Being caught off guard by your comment, his eyes went wide but he quickly recovered as he sent a smirk in your direction.
“Oh, is that so?”
“Mm hmm, I haven't seen you all week so I'm excited to spend the entire weekend with you which also includes plenty of activities that do not require clothes. This week was a lot and I really needed to be around you so this was absolutely perfect. Did you pick the place or did Ja'Marr?”
“We'll definitely get to that later. I know this week was a lot for you and there were a lot of things happening so I'm happy you're spending the entire weekend with me. And yes, it was Ja'Marr’s idea. I had never been here before and he recommended it.”
“Doesn't surprise me since you're such a homebody. I'm going to have to make him more cookies for that one.”
“All of my snacks and streaming services are at home. What do I need to leave for? And no, absolutely not. He's starting to stalk me just for your cookies. Any time he calls me now it's about you and your cooking. First thing out of his mouth is if you were at my house and if you cooked anything and if he can come over.” Joe told you as he laughed with you joining in with him.
“Okay, now open.”
“This better not be nasty.”
“Joey! Stop acting like you're five and open!” He did as he was told and slowly started to chew with his head nodding in approval.
“It's not bad, but I know something that tastes even better and I've been craving it all week actually.”
“What? You said you had never been here before.”
“I was talking about my girlfriend sitting on my face.”
—
“Get over here and stop running from me.” Joe told you as he pulled you back onto his California king bed since you were literally about a few centimeters from hitting the floor.
“I am nowhere done with you. Keep in mind you talked all that shit in the car on the way back and now look, a whimpering dripping mess underneath of me. So wet for me.” He whispered in your ear as he once again inserted two of his fingers into you, pumping them at an even and slow pace knowing that it would get you that much closer.
His fingers slipped out and he held them up to your mouth as you opened and sucked on them.
“See how good you taste?” Joe asked as he leaned down to place several kisses on your lips and slipped inside you at the same time making you gasp and quickly wrap your arms around his neck.
“Look at my pretty girl, she's taking me so well.”
He placed his hand around your neck and slightly squeezed, but not too tight as he increased his pace moving in and out of you.
Your moans were the only thing that you could get to come out of your mouth because of how much pleasure that you were in and knew that you being sore later was inevitable.
“Taking me so well that she can't even utter a single word, huh? This dick got you speechless?” Joe laughed, but was caught off guard when you suddenly flipped him onto his back and began to ride him.
“Damn, wasn't expecting that.”
“Not quite speechless, but you're about to be once I finish riding you.” You explained to him as you smirked with him taking hold of your hips in order to help guide you.
“Come on then, princess. Let's get to it.”
It was now three in the morning and you were wrapped into Joe's tight embrace when your phone began to vibrate violently on the nightstand.
Quickly picking it up to look at it, you were startled go see that it was Jayson, your daughters father and slowly moved from Joe in order to hopefully not wake him up and went into the master bathroom and closed the door behind you to answer it.
“Jayson, what's going on?”
“It's Nalanie. She won't stop crying and she's simply asking for you. She kept asking me to call you and wouldn't take no for an answer.”
“Just hand her the phone.”
“Hello?”
“Mom! I…” She started to say, but couldn't continue her sentence without crying.
“I'm coming, okay? Be there soon.” You comforted her and quickly hung up as you made your way back into the bedroom to still see Joe resting peacefully.
You quickly started moving around with the use of the flashlight on your phone to be able to see and this made Joe wake up and he quickly sat up to reach over to turn on the bedside lamp.
“Uh? Baby? What are you doing?”
“Looking for my clothes, I need to leave.” You told him as you had discovered your outfit that you had worn earlier all the way by the bedroom door suddenly remembering that Joe wasted no time in taking it off of you.
“Why? What's wrong? Did something happen?” He asked while you were hurrying to get dressed and you ignored his question. Not on purpose, but because you had no idea what you were about to walk into once you left there and went and got Nalanie.
Seeing how frantic you were, Joe pulled you over to him since he was sitting on the bed still to try and calm you down.
“Joey, I...”
“You need to breathe for a second and then tell me what's going on with you. You have me worried. What can I do to help you?”
“Just…. let me go please. I want to tell you but…”
“But what? You tell me everything. Or at least I thought you told me everything.” He replied as he took your smaller hand in his large one.
You hesitated before you answered him and it was clear by the look on your face that you didn't want to. The man in front of you had always been honest with you since the two of you had gotten together and it was necessary for you to do the same thing in return. He never deserved to be lied to despite your reasoning for it.
In your mind, you didn't necessarily lie to him, but you definitely didn't tell him the truth either.
“I just got off the phone with my daughter. She was crying and scared and I could barely make out what she was saying. I need to go get her from her father's house. I promise to explain more after I know that she's okay.”
“Wait, what? You’re joking right? Since when do you have a daughter?” Joe asked dumbfounded and he was waiting for the punchline of the joke that just came out of your mouth.
“Since I got pregnant when I was a teenager. Joey, I promise I'll explain but not now. Move so I can get up.” You said as tears were threatening to fall down your face.
“So you mean to tell me that you lied to me? And you've been lying to me this entire time?! I knew that something was off with you and I was right! What else are you hiding?! Are there more kids that I don't know about? Why would you lie about something like that?”
“Nothing. I'm not hiding anything else, I promise.” You said as you slipped on your shoes.
“Hmm, your promises have now been proven to come up empty so I don't want to even hear it. Just do what you have to do.”
“Joey…”
“No, I don't want to hear it. I hope your daughter is okay, but….”
“But what?”
“How am I supposed to be with someone who lies to me? Especially something as big as that?”
“It’s not that simple. I'll explain if you just give me the chance.”
“Oh, but it is. Get your stuff and you can leave.”
“I… fine.” You told him as you grabbed your overnight bag from the chair in the corner and your cell phone that had been placed on the nightstand after you had gotten that frantic call.
You looked at your keys and quickly took the key to Joe's condo off and left it on the nightstand that was closest to his side of the bed.
Without another word, you walked out of his bedroom and down the steps to eventually make it to your car. Once your belongings were in the backseat, the water works that you had been trying so hard to hold in, made themselves known and it was like a dam had broken.
After sitting there for a few minutes and giving yourself a pep talk, you made your way to Nalanie's father's house to make sure that she was okay.
It didn't take long before you were knocking on the front door and it was whisked open by Nalanie herself who then placed you in a bone crushing hug as tears were still streaming down her face. You rubbed small circles along her back as you kissed her cheek in order to get her to calm down.
“Lady Bug, are you going to tell me what's wrong? I'm here now and you're okay.”
She slowly nodded her head and broke her embrace from you and moved to the side so that you would be able to come into the house. Once she did, you were greeted by Jayson and his wife Sabrina who had come from the kitchen in order to greet you.
“Hey, she’s been like this for the past hour. Won't say anything to us. All she wanted was you.” Sabrina told you as she hugged you.
You nodded your head before also hugging Jayson, but Nalanie stayed quiet.
“Lady Bug?”
“Can we just go home?” She quietly asked and the first thing you did was nod.
“Go get your things and meet me back down here.”
Nalanie took the steps two at a time before Jayson looked at you and sighed.
“I was trying to handle it without us calling you, but I didn’t know what else to do. Anddd I just realized I ruined date night for you. How's you know who by the way?”
“Very upset with me because he found out about her like this before I could tell him properly and I think we just broke up? I had literally planned on telling him in the next two weeks or so and I was going to tell her too. But it's not important right now. What is important is my daughter so, if he can't accept her then he's not the one for me.”
“He's probably more upset about finding out in the way he did and not the fact that you have her.”
“Either way, we're probably done, so…”
“Don't give up on him so easily, he may surprise you.” Sabrina said before walking back into the kitchen.
“Just see how it plays out. This is the happiest that I've ever seen you and I would hate for you to miss out on that. Just give him time to process.” Jayson told you and you simply nodded as Nalanie reappeared with all of her bags in tow.
Nalanie said her goodbyes to her father and Sabrina and you picked one of her many bags up off the floor to carry outside. You never understood why she needed so many bags for a three day weekend, but then again she was your child and simply took after you when you thought about how you would do the exact same thing.
The two of you were now home and as soon as you opened the door, you wasted no time in asking her what was wrong.
“Okay, out with it.”
“I got my period and got really scared.”
“Oh, Lady Bug, that is nothing to be scared about. It happens to everyone that has a uterus.”
“I know that I could have asked Sabrina, but I just wanted you. I remember you telling me about what to do if you weren't around and it happened so I took a pad from underneath the sink. I'm sorry that I took you away from whatever you were doing.”
“Don't apologize. You needed me and never ever apologize for needing me. So, how about this?”
“What?”
“Take a bath, put on pajamas and we'll sleep. When we wake up, I'll do your makeup and your hair while we watch Mean Girls?”
“Ooh, deal! Can we make popcorn too?”
“Of course we can and then we're going on a snack run. You can't be on your period and not have a supply of chocolate and ice cream in the house.”
It had been almost an entire two weeks and Joe's finger kept hovering over your number as he debated on calling you while he sat in his living room.
This had happened ever since he had told you to leave that night. The guilt crept in not too long after he had heard you close the front door and he debated on running after you, but decided against it.
He admits that he should've given you a chance to explain everything, but in that moment he was too mad to even listen to one. He couldn't begin to wrap his mind around how you have a daughter.
His mind kept going to you and quickly decided that after practice was over and he was home that he would call you and hopefully you wanted to talk to him, but he honestly wouldn't blame you if you had told him no.
Thinking that it was now or never, he pushed down with his thumb on your number and the phone began to dial.
It rang for a while and Joe was about to hang up, before he heard your soft voice come through the phone.
“Hello?”
“Um, hey.” Joe responded hesitantly.
“Surprised to hear from you. Did you dial the wrong number by chance?” You curiously asked as you were fumbling through your kitchen cabinets looking for ideas on what to make for dinner for you and Nalanie.
“No, I wanted to talk to you. Are you busy right now?”
Startled by this, you placed the box of macaroni noodles on the counter and sat down at the island, trying to take in what he had just asked you.
“No, not at the moment. I'm free to talk.”
“Uh, can we do this in person? I would rather do that than talk on the phone.”
“Sure, I can be over there in 15 minutes.” You told him as you glanced down at your watch. After going over there to see him, you would have to go straight to Nalanie's middle school to pick her up from practice.
“Okay, I'll leave the door open for you.”
It didn't take you very long to get there as you had anticipated, but the anxiety of seeing Joe again after the two of you had left things was starting to kick in.
Maybe this was a formal break up?
No, he probably just wants an explanation and as far as you could tell he was long overdue to hear the truth from you about everything.
Reaching his condo, you pulled into the driveway before getting out of your car and walking up to the door. Turning the handle, it was open just like Joe had promised and a deep breath escaped your mouth before turning it and walking inside.
You found him in the living room and he gave you a small smile before getting up to hug you which caught you off guard. You tightly hugged him back just in case that was the last time that you were able to do it.
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
The two of you were now sitting next to each other and Joe was the first to speak.
It was time to get it over with. Now or never.
“Y/N, why would you keep something like that from me? And you've done it for MONTHS. I'm just trying to understand.” he asked you, trying to make sense of the situation. He simply couldn't believe that you lied to him and lied to him about something as big as this.
“I wanted to tell you when I felt that the time was right. Please understand that. I had actually planned on doing it soon, but then everything happened so…..” You quietly said, but all he did was shake his head.
“And when did you exactly plan on doing that? At this rate, you probably weren't about to tell me until we got married.”
“That is not fair and you know it!”
“I knew something was up when you would go to another room to answer phone calls, never let me stay at your place with you and always shut down the idea when I asked, leaving early from date night. I care about you, so you could at the very least let me know what was happening. Even if you weren't ready for me to meet her.”
“I just didn't want her to get attached to you just in case we didn't end on the best terms. It's happened before in the past and I don't want her to be disappointed again. And I also didn't know how you were going to take it.”
“Hmm, I would have dealt with it because I love and care about you. But I see that you obviously don't give me enough credit. If something or in this case, SOMEONE is important to you, they're important to me too. How old is she anyway?”
“She just turned thirteen.” You quietly said and Joe's eyes went wide.
“I still can't believe you tried to hide the fact that you have a child from me.”
“Like I said, I was going to tell you. If you don't want to be with me anymore because I kept this from you, I get it. I think you made that pretty clear two weeks ago. I ultimately was just trying to protect her.” You quietly said feeling defeated.
Even though Joe was definitely upset with you, he moved closer to you and took your hand in his and started rubbing small circles on the back of it.
“What's her name?” He asked and from that point on, the light in your eyes returned.
“Nalanie Rue. But I've always called her Lady Bug. When I brought her home from the hospital and we were walking outside with her to get into the car, one landed on her nose and it's been her name since. I never call her by her real name unless she's in trouble, which isn't often. She's a really good kid and I honestly couldn't have asked for more. I'm really proud to be her mom.” You confessed as you told Joe about your daughter.
“I see the way you lit up when I asked you about her.”
“I got pregnant when I was 15 and was obviously scared out of my mind. I tried to hide it from my parents for a while but then my mom noticed that I wasn't using the tampons or pads she would put in my bathroom every month for me and she confronted me about it. They’ve always supported me even though I know deep down that they think that I robbed myself of my childhood, which is fair in a sense. I couldn't really go out with my friends unless I took her with me.”
“And you get along with her father? I'm assuming he is in the picture since he's the one who called you first?”
“Yes, he was there from day one when I told him and didn't back down. He's a year older than me. He got a job and would buy her as much as he could. Jayson. He's amazing to her and they have a good relationship. We're still close and he’s married now. But his wife treats Nalanie like she's hers and that's the best thing I could have asked for. I really lucked out because I know a lot of other people aren't as fortunate. My only prayer was that whoever he decided to marry would do right by her.”
“When did she meet his wife?”
“Literally right before he proposed to her and that was something that we both agreed on, but she did know about her. We never bring anyone around her unless we're absolutely sure that they'll be there for the long haul because both of us have messed up in the past with that. We want to protect her like I said before.” You honestly said and Joe was taking in everything that you had told him.
“And I told Jayson about you, but not Nalanie. From his perspective and the way that I talk about you he's really happy for me and all for it. But he did say that he wanted her to meet you. It might also help that you're his favorite player but who knows.” You said to Joe and a small smirk broke out onto his face.
“You're the one calling the shots here. I just want you to do whatever you're comfortable with. I would love to meet her whenever you feel that the time is right. But Y/N….”
“Hmm?” You asked as you turned once more to look at him and he sighed before answering you.
“You can't keep things like this from me. We've been together for a while and you know better than anyone how much I'm going to be there to support you with whatever is going on in your life, just like you do for me. No more secrets. Promise me. I get your reasoning behind it, but you having a daughter was not going to be a dealbreaker for me.”
“Promise. No more secrets from here on out.” You replied back to him as he leaned over to place a kiss on your forehead. He relaxed into the couch as you brought your head slightly to the left to be able to lean against his chest as he wrapped his arms around you.
“Do you want to see what she looks like?” You asked Joe at the same time that you had reached for your phone, not really waiting for an answer.
You never wasted an opportunity to show off your daughter and let people know how proud you were of her.
Joe nodded as you went to your gallery and pulled up the most recent photos of the two of you and moved it closer so that he could see it.
“She literally looks just like you.”
“My little twin. Everyone says the same thing when they see her except she's a little taller than me. She is literally my baby. I cried when she turned thirteen. I can't wrap my head around me now having a teenager.”
“And you’re going to do such an amazing job with her. I can see that you already are.”
“Well if you're ready to meet her, we can do it tomorrow. It's Thursday and she likes football just as much as her parents do.”
“How about football and an ice cream date? Does she like ice cream?”
“She does. Mint chocolate chip is her favorite and I always tell her how weird she is because I never met a kid that said that was their favorite flavor. Oh, and I should tell you something….”
“That's wild that she likes that flavor, but what is it?”
“The Bengals are her favorite team and for good reason but…”
“But what?”
“Ja'Marr is her favorite player so she is going to interrogate you about him.” You confessed as you stifled a laugh and Joe held his hand over his heart pretending that he was hurt.
“But I think the two of you will get along just fine.”
“Oh, and I think you'll need this back.” Joe told you as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the key that you had left on his nightstand.
Staying over with Joe lasted around forty five minutes until you told him about going to get Nalanie from practice. Once you had picked her up and the two of you were eating dinner and watching Netflix, you figured that it was a good time to tell her about meeting Joe tomorrow and nudged her to get her attention as she was sitting next to you on the couch.
“I have something that I want to tell you.”
“Okay, I'm listening. Is everything okay?” She replied as she turned to look at you.
“Everything's fine. I want you to meet someone really special to me tomorrow after you get home from school. We're going to get ice cream and…”
“MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP!”
“Yes, you can have that disgusting flavor and we'll watch Thursday Night Football with him.” You told her as you turned up your nose and she promptly stuck her tongue out at you.
“That is literally the best flavor of ice cream, you are such a hater. But wait a minute… him?”
“Yes, him.” You replied as you nodded your head.
“Hmm, I have to approve. I need to make sure that he's good enough to be in a relationship with my mom. If the two of you are in a relationship that is.” She said as she narrowed her eyes at you suspiciously.
“We are and I forgot how overprotective that you can get but I definitely think that the two of you will get along really well. You two like a lot of the same things including football.” You said as you thought about her probably wanting to go to every Bengals game once she meets Joe.
“In my eyes, only very few people meet my expectations of being good enough for you. And I want to see you happy, but you look happy so I guess he's doing something right so I'm okay with it. And I know he must be important because I never meet anyone that you date.”
“And be nice. No interrogating.”
“No promises.”
You and Joe agreed to meet at one of your favorite ice cream stands that wasn't too far from your job and you found yourself going there sometimes when you got a break to destress by eating a treat that you knew was going to satisfy your craving. It also had a small park nearby and that's where you planned on meeting him.
Nalanie was actually bouncing off the walls and very excited to meet the mystery man, or it was the fact that she was going to get ice cream in the middle of the week.
It was probably the latter.
The two of you were in line and you were about to pay for your ice cream as well as Nalanie's when you felt a presence behind you. You got a whiff of the cologne that you grew to love so much and knew that it was your boyfriend. Joe then slipped the cashier his card as you shook your head and smiled while Nalanie was looking around confused.
“Wait, mom, where's your man? Is he late? I thought he was supposed to be here already. And why is Joe Burrow here? Wait! Is Ja'Marr here too?” She asked as she was looking around to see if she could spot her favorite player.
“Lady bug, this is my boyfriend Joe and Joe this is my daughter Nalanie.”
“It's nice to meet you Nalanie, your mom has told me all about you.” Joe told her and she slowly nodded her head up and down indicating that she was still taking everything in.
At that moment, her eyes went wide.
“I.. wow… It's nice to meet you too. I had this whole speech in my head to interrogate you with but now I can't remember a word of it.”
“Nalanie! I said NO interrogating!”
“He seems like he would be able to take it anyway.” She told you and you shook your head at her.
“I didn't bring Ja'Marr, but maybe next time. Since someone did tell me that he was your favorite player.”
“Don't be jealous, you're a close second.” She replied as she smiled.
Over the next several months, you watched as Joe and Nalanie grew closer and was happy that they were building such a good relationship with one another. There were even a few conversations that had happened regarding the two of you moving in with him and of course Nalanie was all for it, but you on the other hand wanted a little bit more time before you came to a final decision about it. Joe told you that there was absolutely no rush and that the offer would stand.
It was currently Friday and you were stuck in traffic due to an accident as you were on your way to get Nalanie. You didn't want to keep her waiting and since it was her weekend with you instead of spending it with her dad, you quickly asked Joe if he could get her for you.
You- Joey, I'm stuck in traffic, could you go and get Nalanie for me? But only if you aren't busy. I owe you for this.
Joey- You don't owe me anything and of course I'll go and get her. We'll wait for you before we decide on dinner.
You- Thank you, I love you 😘💕
Joey- I love you more and be safe.
Nalanie was surprised to see Joe instead of you as he pulled up in his Porsche, but quickly slipped into the passenger seat as Joe had leaned over to open the door for her.
“Hey, where's my mom? Not that I’m not happy to see you or anything.” She told him as she brought the seatbelt across her body.
“Stuck in traffic so she asked me to come and get you. We'll decide on dinner once she gets back. How was your day at school?”
“Hmm, it was okay, but this boy Cody is convinced that girls don't know more about football then boys so we got into an argument at lunch about it.”
“Did you know that there are more women who actually watch it then men do?” Joe told her and she quickly nodded.
“See!? And that's what I told him. I was firing off all these stats about my favorite players, you were included, and he was just looking at me like he didn't know what I was talking about.”
One thing Joe knew Nalanie was passionate about was football and sports in general and that you and her were never one to back down from an argument or discussion regarding it.
“He sounds like he talks a big game, but can't back it up.”
“I'm convinced that his head is full of air instead of a brain.”
“You literally sound just like your mother.” Joe told her as he laughed and came to a slow stop at a red light.
“I have a question. Well, two actually.”
“Ask away.” Joe told her as the light turned green.
“Well first, when are you going to marry my mom? She's really happy with you and I can tell.”
Hearing Nalanie ask this caught him off guard, but he quickly composed himself.
“Hmm, funny you should ask. Can you keep a secret? And I also wanted to ask you something.” He said and she quickly nodded.
“I already got her ring, just have to plan when I'm going to do it. And I wanted to ask your permission too, because I feel that it's important.”
“Really!? Well you already know that my answer is yes. I already consider you my bonus dad and that's a plus. This is the happiest that I've ever seen her. What does it look like? Can I see it?”
A million thoughts were running through Nalanie's head about how excited she was about the entire thing. She finally felt that now her family would be complete.
“I have it hidden in my room, hoping she doesn't find it but I'll show you later. What was your next question?”
“Are you two going to have a baby? Or babies? I like the idea of at least three. I want a sibling or siblings to play with.”
“I… you are so full of questions today.”
“I only asked you two questions and you are definitely stalling. I guess all that media training has led you to be able to learn how to dodge questions.”
“I'm not dodging the question!”
“Lies! Then answer it!”
At that moment, Joe's phone rang indicating that it was you and quickly answered it as Nalanie made a face at him.
“Saved by the phone call. But I'm definitely going to ask again later.”
It was around eight at night when you were painting Nalanie's nails on the floor in the living room while Joe was sitting on the couch behind both of you and she noticed that you kept glancing at her.
“Uh, mom? Everything okay? You literally only do that when you have something that you want to tell me.” She asked as you were now painting a second coat. This also caught Joe's attention and he quickly looked over at you.
“Well there is something….” You said as you gestured for her to put her hand in the nail dryer.
“What is it?” She asked as she looked between the two of you and you looked at Joe to give him permission to tell her.
“I think that the role of being a big sister is going to look pretty good on you.” Joe told her and her mouth was now hanging wide open.
“Now I see why you didn't answer my question earlier.”
“Wait, what question?” You asked her and she sent a smile in your direction.
“I asked him when the two of you were going to give me a sibling, but I see that was clearly already in the works. I want at least three by the way.” She told you as she pointed to your midsection.
“Umm, we'll have to see about that and we wanted to make sure that everything was okay before we said anything about it.”
“Well I'm excited for that obviously and now I guess there's only one more part left.”
“And what part is that?”
“The part where you two get married and then we'll be a family for real.”

ATEEZ STUCK IN THE FRIENDZONE
ot8 x gn reader
summary: they are down bad for their best friend
tw: mostly fluff, maybe angst. also alcoholic drinks and being drunk in yeosang’s and wooyoung’s. parts. (+ possible spelling mistakes since english is not my first language!)
a/n: friends to lovers > any other tropes lol also requests are open rn!!
HONGJOONG
hongjoong felt helpless. he didn’t know if you were messing with him on purpose or if you were genuinely clueless to his feelings, but he is sure he’s about to lose his mind. how much more will he be able to take of your soft touches on his skin? or how close to his face you would get when you wanted to show him something on your phone?
everything would change if he just closed the distance between you two. or if he said those three dangerous words that had been appearing in his mind every time he saw you. three words. one kiss. or both?
“joong, are you with me?” you asked suddenly, pulling him out of his thoughts. he blinked rapidly and nodded “something about buying a new laptop right?”
you hummed in response, shoving your phone in his face while scooting closer. “i think i like this pink one, it’s so very cute, but do you think it will be able to take all the digital material for class and all my sims expansions? or should i just go with the boring one that has more storage?” you asked, looking at him. it took everything in him to not kiss you right then and there, so instead, he bit his lip, pretending to think about it.
“i mean, you can always personalize it with stickers so it’s less boring” he suggested. your eyes immediately widened, not having thought about that option. “hongjoong you are a genius! i can’t believe it didn’t cross my mind”
“i know you like the back of my hand y/n” he said in a whisper, but you heard him nonetheless.
“that’s why you’re my best friend, you always complement me” you said, smiling and returning to your seat beside him, as you started purchasing the ‘boring’ laptop.
hongjoong never wanted to bang his head against a wall more.
SEONGHWA
“so he told her that she was the crazy one! can you believe that, hwa?” you asked, crossing your arms as you walked beside him. you have been rambling non stop about what happened to one of your friends and her now ex boyfriend. “bold of him to accuse her of being crazy when he was the one that cheated with her cousin” he answered, turning his head towards you and smiling.
“right, thank you! that’s exactly what i told her!” you exclaimed, throwing your arms in the air dramatically. “i swear guys are so dumb these days”
“the dumbest” he said, chuckling.
“not you of course, you are always the exception whenever i talk about men and their stupidness” you said, patting his shoulder lightly in a friendly manner. seonghwa’s heart skip a beat. he wanted to be an exception, he wanted you to realize his feelings so bad and for you to reciprocate them.
“trust me, i would not be friends with a dumb man” you continued, now grabbing his arm and leaning your head against it. “i genuinely think you are the only exception”.
he was about to start jumping from joy, were you about to realize how meant to be you both are? how you both were each other’s ‘exceptions’?
“i think you’re an exception too” he said, testing the waters as he stopped in his tracks, causing you to lift your head up to look at him. you smiled, and he swore his heart stopped beating for a second.
“of course i am! that’s why we’re best friends, hwa!” you exclaimed happily. in contrast, he internally screamed, hope slipping through his fingers slowly.
YUNHO
it was a sort of tradition to have game night every week in order to de-stress, followed by a slumber party of two. you would bring snacks and drinks, and yunho would provide the tv, playstation and games. it was the perfect arrangement.
tonight was no different: you were lying on the coach with your legs resting on top of yunho’s lap, as you quickly pressed on the buttons of your customized controller that he had gifted you for your last birthday. meanwhile, he played with his spider man joystick, silently cursing whenever he got hit by enemies.
“noo yunho i’m down! come and revive me!” you groaned when your character died. he chuckled in response “you are really bad at this game, y/n”.
you playfully hit his arm and rolled your eyes “i would be better if someone covered for me instead of running off!” you said. “i was getting supplies!” he complained, making his character bring you back to life. before he was done though, another player killed him. “what were you saying about my gaming skills, baby?” you asked, playfully.
yunho.exe stopped working, as every time you called him that nickname. he knew that you were just being friendly, but he couldn’t help how fast his heart would start beating each time. for you, it was just a word. but for him? the nickname meant everything: hope. hope that someday you will use the nickname in a way that would trascend friendship. hope that someday, you will realize his feelings and reciprocate them.
maybe if you used the word often enough, you would soon realize it.
YEOSANG
the first time you kissed was a drunken mistake. you both took one too many shots at san’s birthday party, and one thing lead to another and you ended up straddling his lap as you hungrily kissed him. despite his *very* drunk state, yeosang was over the moon, hoping this would change the direction of your friendship.
he realized how wrong he was when he woke up the morning after with a text from you that said “i hope that last night doesn’t change anything between us, i’m sorry”. he knew you were probably spiraling into the worst case scenarios, so he thought it would be healthier to just leave it there, for now at least. “we’re still friends, don’t worry” he texted back, hating himself for being a coward.
the second time was a dare at some party you attended of a mutual friend. he was the designated driver, and you knew he would have a hard time dragging his drunk friends back back to the car, so you offered to stay sober with him. he told you that it wasn’t necessary, earning a warm smile from you as you replied “that’s what best friends are for”.
the music was loud and the place was filled with drunk people, some making out in corners of the room, others engaging in incomprehensible conversations. yeosang and you were gathered in a circle with your friends as you played some sort of truth or dare game. it was mingi’s turn to spin the empty bottle of beer, having just finished his dare. to your misfortune, it landed on you.
“truth” you answered, earning groans from your friends, complaining about how ‘boring’ that option is. “y/n you picked truth last time! it’s dare time” mingi said in between giggles. “ugh fine, dare then i guess” you said, rolling your eyes as a smile creeped on your face.
“i dare you to kiss someone from this circle” he said, quickly glancing at yeosang, who immediately paled. you blushed, meditating your options for a moment before turning to your best friend. “we kissed once and remained friends. please don’t let this change”, you said, crashing your lips against his.
and he was, once again, over the moon, choosing to ignore the last part of that sentence.
SAN
“sannie!” you exclaimed, running up to him and throwing your arms around his neck. his arms immediately wrapped around you, holding you in place as he hid his face on your neck, inhaling your scent in discretion. it’s been too long since he last saw you, felt you near him. “i missed you so much, san! tell me everything about the tour”
you spent the afternoon talking about his adventures while on tour, showing you pictures of different places and telling you funny anecdotes of his members. each time he finished a story, you would smile so big and radiantly he found himself trying to control his heartbeat from racing. you also told him about how you were doing, of course! he wanted to know every new detail in your life, even though he knew many of the updates since you both regularly texted.
“i missed this” he confessed, before adding “i missed you”. your eyes softened at his words, taking his hand on yours. “i missed you too, sannie. it’s hell not being able to see your best friend every day as usual” you said. unbeknownst to you, you had just broken his heart a little with that last part. he just nodded, giving you a small smile.
on tour he felt your absence in words he couldn’t describe, always reaching for you when you weren’t there or aching to just grab his phone and call you. so, he decided he had enough of that. he was determined to tell you his feelings.
“actually, i bought something for-“ he started saying, but got interrupted by your phone vibrating beside you. “sorry, hold on” you said, before picking up. a smiled immediately appeared on your face, lighting up your whole aura as you talked back to whoever was on the phone with you. san couldn’t be more in love with you.
“sorry sannie, i have to leave. i thought my date cancelled tonight but apparently will be able to make it on time. so i have to leave right now to get ready for it” you explained.
his heart broke once again, letting go of the silver necklace he had bought for you. maybe another time, or maybe he was already too late.
MINGI
you were starting to get annoyed, and mingi knew it. you stood in front of him, crossing your arms as you looked at him questioningly. “i just don’t understand why you won’t let me read your songs”, you complained.
mingi sighed in response, leaving his notebook on the table beside him. “because it’s personal, y/n”. you rolled your eyes in annoyance, not believing a single word that came out of his mouth. “oh so now it’s personal? wasn’t it also personal when you, without my knowledge may i add, read my diary?” you argued back.
“that was different and you know it! i literally didn’t even know it was your diary” he said. “plus you forgave me for that!”
on normal circumstances, he would let you read his song notebook as many times as you wanted, hell, he would even sing/rap the verses for you. but ever since he realized that the meaning behind those songs revolved around you, about how you, his best friend, were his main source of inspiration, he decided to never let those songs see the light of day. unless until he was ready. what if you were repulsed? what if you decided he was creepy and distanced yourself from him? he didn’t even want to think about those scenarios.
“yes i did, but that doesn’t change the fact that you still read about my deepest thoughts and-“ you started saying, before your eyes widened and your voice started stuttering “wait. do you- do you actually not trust me? do you think i would leak the songs to the media?”
mingi honestly couldn’t believe what he was hearing. or worse, what you said next: “is this also why you’ve been avoiding me?”. mingi felt like punching himself, had he been avoiding you unconsciously? he knew he started keeping his distance a bit more, not replying as quick and not visiting as often as before. but he thought the changes were not noticeable by you.
you stared at him, tears forming slowly but surely on your eyes, as you tried so hard to keep them from falling. mingi was looking down, too lost on his thoughts. you waited a few moments, before muttering a low “i would never do that to you, mingi”.
he realized you were gone when he heard the door closing behind you.
WOOYOUNG
“if looks could kill, that guy would be long dead” yunho said, wrapping an arm around wooyoung as he smiled teasingly. he huffed, not taking his eyes from you and the random guy that had been keeping you entertained for longer than appreciated.
you were just getting drinks from the bar, but a random guy approached you suddenly and stole your attention before wooyoung could do something about it. you didn’t look uncomfortable, so it’s not like he could just walk up to you and steal you away. you weren’t even “his” to steal to begin with, his official title being “my bestest friend in the whole world” as you would say. a title that he, in fact, despised.
“you can always intervene you know? i mean they were supposed to get you a drink” yunho pointed out before sipping from his beer can. wooyoung looked at him. then looked back at you. his decision was made the moment he saw the man reach for your waist.
“love, what’s taking my drink so long?” he asked as soon as he approached you at the bar, stealing you away from the man and wrapping his arm around your waist instead. you turned to him, unknowing of his true intentions “oh my god woo i forgot! here it is, i’m sorry”
but wooyoung’s eyes didn’t leave the man, who immediately averted his gaze. “i didn’t know you had a boyfriend” the man said, glancing back at you. “he’s actually my best-“ you started saying but wooyoung interrupted you.
“boyfriend, yes. i think you should leave” .
JONGHO
jongho felt your arms wrap around him from behind the coach, pulling him back and stilling him in his place. he looked up at you and smiled softly, as you looked down with the same kind of smile. then, both of your attention was drifted back to wooyoung, who was dramatically telling a story about how hongjoong almost lost his laptop again.
“correction: someone stole it the first time, i didn’t lose it” hongjoong pointed out, earning a laugh from you. as cheesy as it seems, jongho truly believed that it is his favorite sound.
actually, you were his favorite everything: favorite person, favorite singer (despite only hearing you sing in the car or shower), favorite cook. the sound of your voice and laugh was his favorite, along with the way your face expressed clearly how you were feeling at the moment. to him, you were an open book, his favorite book.
the only problem was that he wasn’t sure if he was yours. yes, you were closer to him than with the rest, often confiding in him with your deepest secrets. you built an irreplaceable bond with him, one that he was truly afraid to break if he told you about his feelings. so for now, he settled with enjoying the skinship you offered.
getting too entertained by the dramatic scenery displayed in front of you, neither of you noticed mingi looking at your small, almost unconscious, interactions.
“hey how come we never get to hug you without getting kicked, jongho?” mingi asked, making everyone take notice of the way you were hugging and resting your head on jongho’s, as he traced his fingers along your arms.
“best friend privileges” you answered, noticing the way jongho flinched while he tried to think of a quick way to answer. what you didn’t know, was that your explanation made him want to scream. “oh really? isn’t it because-“ mingi started teasing, only to be interrupted by jongho abruptly standing up to kick him jokingly as he screamed, trying to block what he was trying to say.
he was willing to die with the secret that he had fallen deeply and stupidly in love with his favorite everything.

Pairing: Josh Washington x f! Reader
Warning: Fluff | A tiny bit of Angst | Mental Institution Mentioned | Birthday |
Word Count: 685
A/n: Hopefully this is okay. I feel like I can’t make a Josh fic without some sort of angst. Sorry it's super short. I have a lot of class assignments due this week so my focus is on that rn. Off topic but I'm thinking about making a Mr.Robot fic. Im back in my Rami Malek era.
“You are receiving a call from Ocean View Hospital. Would you like to accept?”
“Yes.”
The line was then connected.
“Hey sweetheart. How are you?” You could hear his sly look through the phone.
You leaned against the wall fiddling with the hem of your shirt.
“I’m good. How about yourself?” You missed hearing his voice.
“I’m good now.”
“Oh are you really?”
“Yeah. I’m just glad I get to hear you talk. It’s a good distraction from all this.”
“I’m glad I can distract you for a bit.”
You had been friends with Josh since you both were little. You had always known something was a bit different with him. But it wasn’t until you both started dating that you had fully known the extent of his condition. Josh would wake up during the night screaming, he’d have a hard time recognizing you at times.
“So my birthday’s coming up.”
“It is, isn't it.”
“Do you think you’ll finally be out by then?”
“I’m not too sure babe. But if I’m doing better by then you'll be the first to know.”
You felt slightly disappointed but you knew he was in there to get the help he needed.
That was 3 weeks ago.
You hadn’t heard from Josh since that last phone call. He hadn’t been returning your letters or phone calls. You had begun to assume the worst. What if he didn’t want to talk to you anymore? Or what if he regressed? What if his meds stopped working. Even when you asked Hannah and Beth they hadn’t been able to contact him either.
All you could think about was the day you found him. You could still see it. He was passed out on the floor. He was unresponsive for a good minute before you had to throw cold water on him. He was sobbing, saying how he wasn’t good enough for you. Saying that he didn’t deserve you. But those sobs quickly turned to anger, not at you but to whatever was talking around him. He swatted trying to get the voices away from him. But what really did it for him was when he accidentally hit you. The guilt that he felt, he didn’t mean it. He wasn’t aiming for you. He couldn’t even see you with his delusions tormenting him. That was what really made him commit himself.
Hannah knew how upset you were but she thought it would be a good idea to take you to the cabin for your birthday. You had always said it was your favorite place to go.
You and Hannah were already making your way to the cable cart, “Didn’t you say Beth was going to meet us here?”
Hanna turned slightly to you, “Yeah, she got cold and just texted me that she was going to go ahead to the cabin.”
You nodded. After the walking you could finally see the cabin in sight. It was just as beautiful as you remembered it. Hannah held the door open for you as you walked in first. You felt your body jolt from the yelling.
“Surprise!” Little poppers and kazoos echoed through the room.
“Aw you guys.” You felt your eyes tear up a bit. From the excitement but also from the disappointment. Out of all the faces there, the one you wanted the most wasn’t there.
You let out a surprised scream feeling someone picking you up from behind. As soon as you were set back down you saw who it was.
Until you felt someone pick you up from behind
It was him.
“What did you think I forgot?”
You felt the tears run down your face. You nodded slightly.
"Now why would I forget about you."
You hugged him tightly, feeling his arms wrap around you.
“When did they let you out?”
“About three days ago.”
“Why didn't you tell me”
“I wanted to surprise you. I'm sorry”
“No, I'm just so happy. I’m so glad you’re here.”
“I promise I won’t miss another one.”
He wiped your tears, “I missed you so much. I’m sorry. I’ll do better. I promise.”

can you do dad matt and chris's different reactions to their daughter getting her first period while her mom wasn't home 😭😂 (i also really love your writing your amazing 💗🫂)
GROWING UP - c. and m. sturniolo
chris:
chris’ afternoon had been going smoothly. he lightly plopped onto the living room couch, ready to relax for the next couple of hours.
you had left to work on some brand deals with your team, leaving him to tend with your two daughters.
luckily for him your youngest had dance practice so he would only have to pick her up in a couple of hours. And your eldest was in her room, finishing up her homework.
everything had been normal when she came home. she greeted chris as per usual and rambled on about her day, which chris always listened intently to. then she finished the snack chris had prepared for her before she came home. Finally she thanked her dad and went to her room.
so imagine chris’ confusion as to when he heard blood curdling screams coming from his daughter’s room.
mid movie, chris jumped up and ran upstairs. of course he didnt want to barge in so he hurriedly knocked.
“honey? you okay?” he asked with worry. he could hear the light sobs of your daughter through the door and swung it open.
“dad, can you call mom?” your daughter asked through broken sobs. chris of course whipped out his phone and without a thought dialed your number.
as he approached further he could see the light patch of blood on the girls bed and put two and two together.
chris was still trying to find the right words to comfort his daughter and unfortunately you weren’t answering.
“hey, theres no need to cry, here.” chris said has he jumbled up the sheets and placed them in the laundry basket.
“your mom told you all about this before right?” he asked as she nodded. “so why dont you go clean up and ill get of some ice cream?” your daughter wiped away her tears and smiled.
chris gave her a light peck on the head and went to go wash the sheets.
in the end your daughter calmed down with the help of your husband (and ice cream), and you were in for a story when you came back home.
matt:
matt’s experience was similar to chris’, except his daughter was way more calm about it.
it was just a regular weekend afternoon and you had gone to brunch with your friends, leaving matt and your daughter at the house.
matt and your daughter had decided to spend some time together. playing board games, eating food they baked, and watching some movies.
it was on their second movie when your daughter had gotten up to use the bathroom. matt had taken this opportunity to send you a few texts since your daughter had a strict ‘no phones when watching movies’ rules. he stopped texting when he heard a faint
“daaad..”
“yes..?” he answered a bit confused. but he got up anyways and made his way towards the bathroom
“do you know where mom keeps the pads?” his daughter asked and honestly, it took him a minute to process what was happening. of course he didnt want to freak her out even more.
“uh- yeah, theyre in the bin on the rack.” he said with a cough, dialing your number in the process. lets just say, you were speeding home to give your daughter some emotional support.

Death Is My Gift
Summary: When Danny becomes the personification of Death, his new powers are the least of his problems. Summoned as the fourth horseman of the apocalypse, Danny tries to sabotage it from the inside while also contending with the other three horsemen, the one who summoned him, and the knowledge that if he fails, he may have to help bring about the end of the world.
AO3: Link
Chapter 1: Still Dead - Thanks for Checking
“What the hell is that on your phone?” Sam asked, her tone dripping with derision.
Danny looked up from his screen and cocked his eyebrow. “What?” How could she see what was on his screen when she was on the other side of the table? Not that he had anything embarrassing on there, but look it wasn’t his fault that he messed up his Insta algorithm because he watched one video about large superheated copper balls melting through a telescope lens and now he couldn’t stop watching more of them. But still, how could she see it?
She gestured toward the back of his phone. “That sticker - what the hell is it?”
Understanding dawned on the usually clueless boy and his face brightened. “Oh, it’s my new sticker! Isn’t it great?” he preened as he moved his hand to the side so they could see the sticker in its full glory. He had been waiting for them to notice it, and somehow it took all the way until lunch for them to comment on it.
Tucker craned his neck around to see the purple coffin-shaped sticker plastered onto the back of Danny’s phone case. In white letters it read: “Still Dead. Thanks for checking.” Tucker snorted before he devolved into cackles. “Dude, that’s great!”
Danny grinned even wider. “Right? I thought it was too funny.”
“No, it’s stupid,” Sam argued, and her harsh attitude completely ruined the mood. “Danny, the less people associate you with death, the better.”
“Oh come on Sam, if they haven’t figured out that Danny Phantom and Danny Fenton are the same person by now when they have the exact same hairstyle, then a sticker is not going to phase anyone,” Tucker argued, ever in defense of his friend.
“Exactly!” Danny seconded.
“Or it’s exactly the last piece that helps people make that connection because there’s already so little separating you!” Sam exclaimed, though she did try to keep her voice down so no one else would overhear.
“Or maybe they’ll just think I’m a moody Gen Z kid that says this kind of dramatic stuff all the time. Which is why you should have let me keep that shirt.” He still thought that “Dead Inside” shirt was ironic and iconic, but Sam conveniently spilled black ink from her fancy new quill set on it and refused to give it back for this very same reason.
“Yeah, he could just make it his brand,” Tucker agreed. The two of them always seemed to be on the same page.
Sam reached out like she was about to rip the sticker off his phone, but decided against it and shook her head. “Fine. You want to keep the sticker on your phone? Fine, but don’t cry to me when people start putting the pieces together,” she huffed.
“Well since that’s not gonna happen, you’re gonna be waiting a long time,” Danny grinned. He struck an overly exaggerated victory pose with his neck cocked slightly to the side while he tilted his chin up to the sky.
Sam jerked back as the color drained from her face. “Danny what the—“ she cried out, so loudly and so suddenly that it caught the attention of other people in the lunchroom.
Danny immediately looked behind him, assuming that whatever caused Sam’s sudden reaction had to be behind him. His need to protect his friends from whatever threat caused such a startled response rose up and hammered in his throat as his mind spun with the possible horrors he would see behind him.
But he saw…nothing. Well, not nothing. He saw other students eating their lunches at other tables throughout the room. Students drifted in and out of the cafeteria as they finished their lunches. No ghost. No threat. Nothing that should cause Sam to turn as white as she did.
He turned back to face Sam, concern etched deep into his brow as he studied her face. “Sam? What’s wrong?” he asked in quiet urgency. If she truly saw some danger that he couldn’t, then he needed to know.
Sam studied Danny for a long moment, far too long for Danny’s liking. She wasn’t looking past him, she was looking at…him. “...Nothing. Nothing. It’s nothing. I think I’m just seeing things. I thought I saw…nevermind. It’s nothing,” she assured them.
Danny raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure? Because something freaked you out.”
She shook her head and plastered a forced smile on her face. “Yeah, I’m sure. Too little sleep and too much caffeine has just got me jumpy. I’m fine, really. Besides, we need to act like we’re having a normal conversation: too many people are watching.”
“Well yeah, you practically jumped out of your seat,” Danny pointed out.
She narrowed her eyes and gave him a half smile before she reached across the table and grabbed his abandoned phone. “It did let me get your phone though.”
“Wait hey!” Danny protested as he reached across the table to recover his phone from her clutches, but she deftly moved around his grasping hands.
“Now let’s see about that sticker,” she teased. Danny immediately doubled his efforts to retrieve his phone. Not being able to rely on ghost powers made it a little more difficult than it should have been to win it back (was he maybe relying on those too much? That felt like too much of a Jazz question for him to think about it too long), but he did save the phone and his ironic sticker. He was so preoccupied saving his sticker that he didn’t notice that Tucker had gone quiet and regarded Sam with a very significant and curious stare.
Lunch wrapped up shortly after the scuffle over the phone, and the three of them rushed off to their lockers and then off to class. Just outside the door to the classroom, Tucker held a hand out to stop Sam and waited for Danny to get a few feet inside before he spoke up in a whisper.
“Did you see the skull?”
Sam blinked and her face grew pale again, just like it had in the lunchroom. “The what?” she asked with a slightly shaky voice.
“The skull? Over Danny’s face?”
“What? Yes! Yes I thought I was going insane!” she exclaimed, though still in a whisper to not catch any more attention. The briefest moment of relief washed over her, but it immediately washed away into even more worry.
“No, I saw it this morning,” Tucker admitted. “Thought it was just some trick of the light or something. It was there one moment and then–”
“--Gone the next,” Sam finished. “And when I saw it I just felt…off. Like this moment of dread. Like I was–”
“--Looking at something I shouldn’t have seen,” Tucker validated as he nodded his head. “Yeah, same here. It was a weird feeling to have looking at my best friend.”
“What does it mean?”
“No idea,” Tucker sighed as he looked towards Danny pouring over his textbook in the hope that he’d be able to at least pretend that he did the reading before class. “But knowing Danny, it’s probably nothing good.”
Danny noticed odd glances from his friends a few more times that day. He worried maybe he had something on his face, but then again Sam would have said something. Tucker would have stayed quiet to have a good laugh about it later, but he’d have clued him into the joke by now. Maybe he was doing something ghostly without knowing it? But if that was the case they would have definitely let him know. In the end, he chalked it up to his friends being weird and went about his strangely quiet day.
There weren’t any ghost attacks. He couldn’t remember the last time he went through a school day without being interrupted by ghosts. It felt…nice, but unnerving at the same time, like he missed something. Like he was supposed to clue into something happening in the Ghost Zone. But in the end he decided not to worry about that either, especially once school ended and he could just hang out with his best friends ghost free.
By the time they hit up the game store (Tucker was still trying to get them into tabletop games) and the record store (Sam wanted to browse the LPs), Danny had forgotten all about his previous warnings…until he hit the Boba shop. Second up to bat, he placed his order with the barista, a smiling young woman who wore fun earrings that looked like watermelon slices. He paid for his drink and left a decent tip, but when he looked back up from the pin pad, her haunted expression caught him by surprise.
No longer kind and smiling, her unfocused gaze stared beyond him with eyes opened so wide her eyelids disappeared. Her pale, gaunt face looked hollow and lifeless. Her mouth fell open unnaturally.
“Fifty-seven years, one hundred and thirteen days, seven hours.”
Her flat, emotionless voice echoed within the sudden silence of the rest of the room. Chills shot along his body as the hair on his arms stood on end. His gut twisted uncomfortably as the presence of something…wrong and haunting fell over him. The silence of the world pressed in around him and left him only with that eerie voice thrumming though the void.
“What?” he finally stammered out.
“Do you want a receipt?” she repeated in her normal voice. Suddenly the whole world came back around him. The noise and the commotion of the busy Boba shop almost felt overwhelming after the sheer absolute silence.
“Oh uh…no,” he answered lamely.
“He’s good,” Sam spoke up quickly from behind. She pushed him to the side and took over the situation, but concern etched deep lines into her forehead. “But I’ll have a…”
What Sam ordered was lost on him as Tucker pulled him over to the drink pick-up counter. “Dude, what happened?” he asked in an urgent whisper. “You just froze.”
“I don’t…I don’t know. I heard something totally different…” The eerie tone of her voice, the chill that shot like livewire up his spine (like the accident, but he really didn’t want to think about that), it all stuck with him and wouldn’t leave him. His memory was absolute trash at the best of times, but he could still remember every number she quoted to him like it had been etched into his very core.
“What did you hear?” Tucker asked as Sam joined them. Those concerned lines across her brow still made him feel like something more was going on here, because Sam usually only worried when there was actually something to worry about.
“Just…some numbers, like years and months,” he shrugged, trying to pass it off as normal, even if it couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Like a countdown?” Sam pressed.
Danny’s eyes grew wide. Exactly like a countdown. Down to the hour.
He didn’t need to say anything for Sam to know she was on to something. “So what was she counting down to?”
“You think I know?” Danny rebuffed as he pointed at himself. “But you guys heard it right? How…creepy she sounded? How hollow?”
“No, we didn’t man,” Tucker responded, strangely serious. “We heard her ask if you wanted a receipt and then you just froze.”
He looked between both of his friends, hoping for some kind of alternate answer or for someone to say they were pulling his leg, but they weren’t. “So you…you didn’t hear it?” he implored, desperate for someone to agree with him.
“No Danny, we didn’t,” Sam confirmed. “But Danny, we need to–”
“Pomegranate boba,” another barista announced. Danny automatically turned towards her, only to see the same lifeless stare directed his way.
“Twenty years, two hundred and twelve days, two hours.”
He shook his head and closed his eyes as the pressure of the void threatened to swallow him again, but then like before, everything opened up and the noise of the world rushed back to him.
“Danny?” Sam fretted as she stepped closer to him.
He opened his eyes and looked out on the brightly lit boba shop. “Sorry I…it happened again,” he admitted.
Tucker and Sam exchanged significant glances behind Danny’s back before making an executive decision. Tucker grabbed their drink orders while Sam gently placed a hand on Danny’s back. “I think we should get out of here,” Sam suggested.
Danny could see the sense in that. The last thing they needed was to make a scene, and he could feel the eyes of both the people behind the counter and the ones standing in line. Best to beat a hasty retreat and figure this out somewhere a little quieter.
He scooted around the line of customers, hoping he could make a quiet exit. He caught the gaze of a young boy in line, but he only saw the vacant stare on his young face.
“Eighty three years, three hundred and two days, eleven hours.”
Danny spun quickly away from the boy and placed his hands over his ears, but it didn’t help as he locked eyes with a college student at a table who happened to look up from her laptop.
“Three years, thirty days, seven hours.”
And then the gaze of a well-dressed woman striding through the door.
“Forty years, eighty-eight days, nineteen hours.”
And the older man sitting with his grandchildren at a table.
“Ten years, one hundred and fifty days, three hours.”
Macabre countdowns from various shop patrons echoed around him. Anyone who met his gaze morphed their faces into the gaunt masks and intoned their countdown in that same hollow voice.
“Stop! Stop!” Danny cried as he curled in on himself. Tucker and Sam immediately pushed him through the doors and outside of the shop full of curious onlookers, but if they thought ushering him outside of the shop would be better, they were terribly wrong as Danny confronted more people on the street. The constant chorus of lifeless laments descended upon him in a deafening whirlwind.
“Ninety-eight days, twenty hours.”
“Sixty-eight years, two days, one hour.”
“Seventeen years, two hundred and ninety days, eight hours.”
Until they finally culminated in a chilling “Thirteen seconds.”
A morbid curiosity came over him as his gaze lingered on the older man who intoned the foreboding knell, just before the man clutched at his chest and dropped to the ground. Everyone around him rushed to his side and barked out orders to call an ambulance, but Danny knew deep, deep down in his core that it wouldn’t do any good.
The man was dead.
Dead, exactly thirteen seconds later.
Realizing this area was about to get a lot more attention, Tucker and Sam pushed Danny into a nearby alley and shrouded him from view. “Danny what the hell is happening?” Sam practically yelled.
Danny dropped to the ground as he clutched at his core that ached with the pain of what he just witnessed, and the horror of what he’d come to realize. He didn’t want to admit it to himself or to the world as a whole, but he had a horrifying feeling he knew what the times meant.
They were a countdown to death.
“I don’t…I don’t know why, but people keep telling me how long…how long they have…left,” Danny squeaked out between shallow breaths. The world swam around him and he clenched his jaw to try not to be sick.
“Left to what?” Tucker asked.
“To live you idiot!” Sam chastised. “Danny, are you sure?”
“What else could it be?” he exclaimed as he gripped at the hair on the sides of his head. “Someone said thirteen seconds, and then thirteen seconds later he…he…” His breath quickened in his chest. His heart thrummed too fast against his ribs. Sweat beaded on his brow as he shivered. This…this was a panic attack. Oh god, he was having a panic attack. But could anyone really blame him? He heard a man was going to die and just…just…watched it happen and couldn’t do anything. He couldn’t do anything!
“Danny…Danny just look at me,” Sam pressed delicately as she knelt next to him and placed a gentle hand on his arm.
His eyes reached her chin before he remembered - as soon as he met someone’s gaze, even from afar, they told him how long they had. He couldn’t know that about his best friend. He couldn’t. What if it was a small number? What would he even consider to be a small number? Would any number ever be large enough?
He slapped her away in a panic and retreated into himself as he buried his head into his arms. “No!” he screamed. “No, any time I look at someone they tell me how much time they have left and I can’t…I don’t want to know that. I can’t know that!” he practically screeched.
Sam and Tucker exchanged worried but uncertain looks. They’d dealt with a lot since the accident, but this was certainly a new complication where their very presence seemed to add more stress.
“Okay Danny, okay. We don’t know if that’s what’s happening.” She paused as she felt him tense beside her. “But if you think that’s what’s happening, then we won’t look at you.”
Danny grabbed his hair tight in his hands as he shook in a huddle on the floor. How was he going to do this? Never look at anyone he ever cared about again? Make sure they never looked at him? What kind of life would that be? He couldn’t live like that, with that paranoia that some day one of them would mess up and they’d meet his gaze and then he would know how much longer he had left to spend with them. His breathing quickened again as he found himself spiraling further down into his panic, down into a depth of foreboding terror that he didn’t know if he could climb out of again.
“Okay but Danny, even if you aren’t looking at anyone, I need you to breathe okay?” Sam pleaded. “Just breathe with me. In and out slowly. In and out.”
He did as he was told because he didn’t really have it in him to argue. In and out, in and out. He took deep breaths in through his nose and out through his mouth like Jazz taught him. It probably didn’t help that he was still curled up in a ball and didn’t have great air circulation, but he didn’t dare uncurl.
“Okay, good,” Sam praised as she finished sending an urgent text. “Now let’s figure out what’s going on, because we will figure it out.”
“You mean figure out why I can tell when people are going to die?” Danny snapped.
“Yes,” Sam replied, voice calm despite Danny’s barbed tone.
“...I don’t know if this is the right time, but there probably isn’t a right time so I’m just gonna say it,” Tucker sighed. “Danny, we noticed something weird earlier. It would only happen for a second, but it was like your face was covered by…like a translucent skull.”
Danny looked up but immediately thought better of it and ducked his head back down again. “A what?!”
“A skull. We didn’t know what it meant at the time–”
“We still don’t know what it means,” Sam added.
“--but it has to be related,” Tucker finished.
“This has to be more than a new ghost power,” Sam brainstormed. “This feels like something more significant.”
“More significant? What the hell does that mean?” Danny rebuked. He knew they were just trying to help, but honestly without an answer it was just making him feel more anxious and overwhelmed. He didn’t know if he could handle something more significant than being a half-dead, ghost-fighting freak.
“We don’t know,” Sam said, controlled and patient. “But we’ll figure this out Danny, we promise, just like we’ve figured out everything else.”
Everything else. Because there was always something. There was always some other side effect of the accident that all of them had to keep dealing with. Ghost powers, ghost fighting, his parents, new powers, a secret identity, ice powers, and now this. When was he done? When would he finally stop having more and more piled on top of his already overflowing mind? How much was a teenager expected to shoulder before he finally just buckled under the crushing weight of it all?
Apparently it would be one more thing.
He gasped as the cold breath escaped from his throat. He deflated a bit into his self hug. He knew the quiet afternoon was too good to be true. He knew it.
“Danny, you don’t have to go,” Sam mentioned, almost pleading.
“You know I have to,” he sighed with hollow defeat.
“No, you don’t. Let your parents get it, or Valerie. It doesn’t have to be you right now,” she begged.
“They never handle it well,” Danny argued as he stood but kept his gaze on the floor.
Sam shook her head, prepared to put her foot down. “But Danny, you literally just stopped having a panic attack, do you think now is the right time to do this? Maybe you just need to think about yourself for a bit!”
“When do I ever get to think about myself?” he barbed as he transformed. “Besides, a ghost can’t tell me how long they have to live, right? Sounds like I’m safer with one of them.”
Before they could argue with him he shot off into the sky, leaving a cloud of dread behind him. Tucker and Sam exchanged meaningful glances.
“Follow him?” Tucker checked.
“Absolutely follow him.”
~*~
As yet another ectoblast grazed Danny’s side, he realized Tucker and Sam had maybe been right about letting someone else handle this. His head was not in the game. He couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that swirled around him and it made the fight against the ghostly crow that much harder to focus on. His newfound popularity also proved to be a complication as it led to more onlookers watching the fight. He couldn’t help but meet the eyes of people in the crowd, and every time he listened to their own voices toll their own death knell, he found himself wide open to a hit from the annoying ghost that honestly wouldn’t have been that much of a challenge otherwise.
"Three hundred and twenty-one days, thirteen hours.”
He squeezed his eyes tight as he tried not to internalize how little time the concerned woman who looked his way had left, but closing his eyes during a fight was never a good idea.
“Danny!” he heard Sam yell, her voice distant but urgent.
He opened his eyes and saw the crow barreling in to charge with glowing talons ready to claw out his eyes. He immediately acted on instinct and threw out his hands to maybe summon a shield or take the talons to his arms or something.
He felt something cold and heavy fall into his hands, and he swung it without even looking at it too closely. A thin line of green slashed across the ghost and then it vanished. His overzealous slash continued through the brick of a nearby building that weathered and aged as decay seeped out from the fine line in the brick. When the arc of his swing stopped, he finally looked at what he held in his hands.
A scythe. Long and slender, the curved blade made a full crescent as it tapered into a neat, sharp point. The edge of the blade glowed with a faint green light, but it almost hurt to register: like its presence cut through the very existence of what his mind could accept as real. It looked so simple in his arms, and yet it felt dangerous. Deadly.
He stared dumbfounded at the blade in his hands. It felt heavy in his arms, but not because of its actual weight. It actually felt too easy and natural to swing. His fingers gripped around the shaft like he was meant to hold it. It felt so right and natural in his arms, and that scared him even more.
He immediately dropped it, but instead of hearing it clatter to the ground, it vanished into shadows as the absolute black swallowed it.
With panic etched all over his face, he looked desperately towards Sam’s voice, but only after he remembered that he didn’t dare look towards his friends. He dropped his gaze, but they understood his intent and rushed over to him.
“Danny, Danny are you okay?” Sam asked as she grabbed her friend’s arm.
“No…no I don’t think so,” he admitted. As hard as it felt to admit, he wasn’t well. He had no idea what the hell was happening, but he just knew none of this could be good. A sense of dread lingered around him that he couldn’t shake. A whisper of an answer tickled at the edges of his mind, but it was so cloaked in fear and terror that he didn’t dare even acknowledge its presence.
Sam nodded morosely and squeezed his arm. “That’s okay. We’ve got this Danny. C’mon, let’s get to my house. I think I know what’s going on.”
~*~
Danny sat in his favorite chair in the Manson library. Most of the room felt like something out of a middle-aged woman’s Pinterest page: a million shades of beige accented by a few plants or vines. Some books even had their spines facing the wall because their binding was too colorful. Sam managed to carve out a corner for herself. She separated this corner out with deep red curtains and inside its sanctuary she kept all her books (spines proudly out, thank you very much) on black shelves. Gothic sconces of wrought iron glowed with just enough mood lighting to read by and plush wine red chairs provided the perfect getaway to crawl into with a book.
One of those chairs sucked him up inside its cushions and he let the weight of the fabric surround him. Sitting here with the dark mood lighting while Sam read aloud some new book or poem always felt like a comfortable space. Maybe Sam hoped the familiarity would bring some comfort to him right now, but even its power couldn’t counteract the horrible twisting in the pit of his stomach.
His friends swore they wouldn’t look at his face and would focus on his chest instead, but he still didn’t feel comfortable looking anywhere but at his wringing hands in his lap, just in case. He’d heard about too much death already today: too many times that seemed far too short for the nice faces that seemed burned into his mind. He had no idea who these people were and probably would never see them again, but he would forever remember their faces and would never be free of the knowledge of their death.
Would it be quick? Slow? Painful? Could he stop it? Could he save them? If he remembered their faces could he hunt them down and try to save them? Maybe not the ones in decades, but the ones who would be dying in the next few months? Could he help them so they didn’t end up like the old man on the street who died before his eyes while he was powerless to stop it?
The thump of a large book on a table shook him out of his thoughts as Sam stood near the small round table. “You’re not gonna like this, but I think I found the answer.”
That certainly caught his attention and he looked towards the book. Whether he’d like the answer or not, he needed to know. The heavy old tome looked like every Victorian book that Sam loved to collect, with a dark binding, embossed edges, and thick block lettering for the title.
The Tome of Record for the Myths and Legends of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
No.
No, that couldn’t be the right book. That was not the answer.
He shook his head and backed up in his chair as far away from the book as he could physically get. “No. That’s not the right book.”
Sam approached both Danny and the book gently, like any sudden movement would spook him. “I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but I know I’m right about this.”
Tucker leaned in from his chair and his eyes grew wide. “Wait, apocalypse? Sam you’re serious?”
“No, she’s not serious because she’s wrong!” Danny insisted.
Sam slowly opened the book and turned to a page marked with a dark black ribbon. “Just look at it Danny. It explains a lot.”
Against his better judgment he peeked at the new chapter: “The Fourth Horseman: Death.” He didn’t let himself read any more, but the haunting image of a black-cloaked figure atop a skeletal horse with a skull for a face and a very familiar looking scythe froze him in his seat.
The death knells. The skull. The scythe.
No, just because it made sense, that didn’t mean anything. Lots of things in this world made sense without actually being right, and this was just another one of those things. It didn’t mean that he– He couldn’t possibly be–
Tucker trailed a finger along the text of the book as he read, his mouth and eyes falling agape. “Wait Sam are you…are you trying to say that Danny is…Death? Like the Death?”
He felt an irrational anger towards Tucker for putting into physical words what his mind refused to acknowledge. Because it was crazy…right? Some crazy, wacky theory. This couldn’t be reality, it just…it couldn’t be.
Sam nodded solemnly. “I am. I don’t know why, but Danny has somehow become the personification of Death.”
For some reason the finality in Sam’s voice forced him to really hear it. As much as he wanted to deny it, the nagging whisper always there on the periphery of his mind had been trying to tell him the whole time. He knew it from the first countdown, but refused to see it. He knew what the symbolism of the scythe meant, but he refused to connect it. And he knew that all of these pieces only added up to one possible explanation. Just like Sam, he’d already reached the same conclusion, but he just refused to see it. He couldn’t avoid it anymore.
He was Death.
He needed to get away from the book, the picture, the proof. He didn’t want to see it anymore. He fell through the chair, momentarily grateful to have some kind of physical barrier between him and the book, but the piercing, empty eyes of the skull on the page followed him even through the chair. He scrambled back along the floor until he hit the bookcase behind him.
“No no no I don’t want this! I don’t want this!” he screamed in ever increasing levels of panic. He looked at his shaking hands, almost expecting to see bony hands stretching out instead of his normal skin. He grabbed at his face, his arms, anything to make sure that he hadn’t turned into some skeleton. “I can’t–I don’t want to be Death!”
Sam and Tucker rushed over to his side and pulled his trembling body into a hug. They tried to bestow him with whatever comfort they could, but they knew it wouldn’t be enough. Just like they did when Danny first emerged from the portal, they were at a loss for what they could do and they just tried to be a physical support for him.
Danny grabbed onto his friends desperately as he shook in their arms. He didn’t know how much he needed their reassuring strength and strong hug until he found himself in their arms. Maybe he relied on them too much for emotional stability, but something about their presence served as a grounding force for him and he needed that now more than ever.
“We’ll figure it out Danny,” Sam tried to assure him. “We always do.”
They did always figure it out. The accident, the ghost powers, the ghost fighting, the secret identity, Pariah Dark, Vlad, his horrifying potential future - they’d found a way to make it through everything that his strange life had thrown at him. It stood to reason they could make it through this too, but for some reason this seemed so much more imposing than all those other obstacles.
The personification of death. What did that even mean? Did he have to reap souls? Was he actually the one responsible for killing people? Was he now to blame for everyone’s deaths? Did he have to help people cross over or find peace or meaning in their lives? Could he still live his normal human life? He’d already been neglecting it so much because of ghost fighting, but would this completely eclipse everything else? It felt like such a huge burden to throw onto his already overburdened shoulders, and he didn’t know if he had the strength to keep it all up.
But even more than a burden, being Death pushed him even closer to the dark stench of death that always seemed to swirl around him. He already straddled a very fine line between life and death, and while he didn’t always know where he found himself on either side of it, he cherished the balance. He liked being reminded that he was still alive. He died, and he was a ghost, but he was so much more than that too. His heart beat, he kept growing - he still had a life. He needed those reminders to stay sane. But being Death…it pushed him so much further towards that darker side. It disrupted that balance that he held onto so desperately. Those reminders of life seemed so much further away, like they could be snatched away from him at any moment, and he didn’t want to think where that constant focus on death and loss would take him.
He couldn’t keep dwelling on this. He was a boy of action, and he never did well just thinking through things. Maybe that helped Jazz, but he needed to do something. Figure this out, get rid of it, something. So he pulled away from the hug slightly, enough of a signal for his friends to release the warm group hug. He missed that comfort immediately, but he couldn’t stay huddled up against the bookshelf forever.
“How did this happen?” he croaked. Trying to find a reason meant that he had to accept it as the truth, and that hurt, but he’d already accepted it. Now he just had to get rid of it.
“I don’t know,” Sam admitted. “But Danny, we have a much more pressing issue than how.”
“More pressing than this?” Danny questioned, almost hurt that his internal turmoil and need to solve this wasn’t considered a pressing issue.
“Yeah, because it gets worse.”
Panic clenched around his heart again. How could it possibly get worse? This already seemed like a destitute situation with no possible solution on the horizon.
“Worse than Danny having death powers?” Tucker inquired. Well at least Tucker was on the same wavelength.
She nodded morosely. She took a deep breath, but as she slowly breathed out she straightened up, her brow resolute. “The summoning of the fourth horseman…it’s the final sign. The apocalypse is coming, and Danny’s going to be forced to make it happen.”

I hope you all enjoyed this! It's a little late of a submission for Ectober's Day 17 Gothic Horror prompt, but apparently world-building a multi-chapter longfic took a lot longer than I expected. But I'm excited to share some of my lore behind this ghostly version of the four horsemen over the next two chapters!

I refuse to believe the Valar wouldn't have fought Morgoth without the Silmaril.
(There's a TLDR at the end.)
.... Not really Valar friendly, but not anti Valar either. Valar critical, but still more on their side than not.
I have many, MANY issues with how the Valar handled a lot of things - Finwë's remarriage, stepping over Finwë's authority as king, basically letting Morgoth go after his false repentance was revealed, basically letting Morgoth go because he crossed the Helcaraxë, the Silmarils, refusing to go after Morgoth when Fëanáro made it clear he would never give them his Silmarils, etc. - but I don't think they're malicious enough to hold back their help by the time Eärendil arrived.
When the Darkening happened, the Valar were ... naive is probably the best word I can use to describe it. And petty - they are absolutely petty, especially Yavanna and Tulkas. "Oh, the Noldor don't want anything to do with us? Well, we WON'T help! How about that? And don't call back because we won't even answer the phone!" Then Manwë sat by the metaphorical phone wondering sadly why they wouldn't call. :(
.... I have honestly no idea why they didn't go fight Morgoth to begin with - they could've evacuated everyone out of the area like they did in the War of the Powers - but I digress. I still don't think it was malicious or because they wanted anyone to die. (Well, maybe Yavanna - I've never really gotten vibes from her that she likes ANY of Eru's children because they use her precious plants to survive, though maybe she'd like the Hobbits.) I think it was more of a childish thought on the Valar's part. "Fëanáro will see one day, and he'll be sorry!" That sort of thing.
And I think the Valar didn't really see anything wrong with what they did until the Dagor Bragollach. They made the Sun and Moon, and Men came to be, so clearly everything was going fine. See, Fëanáro, the Valar didn't need to do anything so drastic like return to Endórë.
Of course, then everything else happened......
.... I find it very difficult to believe that the Valar wouldn't know about this. Námo and Vairë would, 100%. Varda, too - she sees everything. And Manwë hears everything, and he's clearly been listening to the goings-on in Endórë before. Ulmo also actively participates in what goes on in Beleriand. These five at least would know how bad it's gotten in Middle Earth.
It was around this time Turgon sent sailors to beg help from the Valar, mind you. All drowned to Ossë, save Voronwë, and Ulmo did nothing. And it can easily be argued that the only reason Ulmo didn't let Voronwë die was so that someone could take his pet Man to his pet Elf's city. Which I guess is better than nothing, at least.
I justify this with the Valar being petty but not malicious. I genuinely think that Manwë thought the Noldor would pray if they needed help. (Yes, he said to never call him again, and the Noldor probably DID pray in the beginning - especially Turgon's people - but Manwë ... doesn't exactly logic very well.)
Anyway, Eärendil would eventually show up, and let's say he didn't have the Silmaril?
At this point in time, the Valar would have no excuse. They would know exactly how bad it is in Middle Earth. And the fact that Eärendil is pleading for mercy for everyone - including the SoF - should have an impact. If they still refused to go against Morgoth because he didn't have a Silmaril, the Valar would not be good and moral. Maybe not quite as bad as Morgoth, but they wouldn't be far off.
.....
I wonder if Eärendil is one of those scenarios where you are so focused on an outcome - either to make it happen or to avoid it entirely - that it comes to pass through your own actions.
The Valar - or at least Námo, because we know at least he can see the future - saw Eärendil as the only way to save everything from Morgoth, and became so fixated on him that they inevitably created that future. "We have to bend the rules Ilúvatar made about marriage, or Eärendil won't come." "We can't get involved, or Eärendil won't come." "We need the Sons of Fëanáro to do these horrible things, or Eärendil won't come."
(I absolutely DESPISE this logic, but it's better than the "all is well in Valinórë; yea, Valinórë prospereth - all is well" logic the Valar show. At least it would mean one of the Valar was taking steps to fix things rather than ignore the problem in the hope of it going away.)
-----
There's also the fact that Melian herself told Thingollo to give up the Silmaril. She can see the future, and she'd know the hearts of the Valar. If she had even an inkling that they would reject Eärendil without the Silmaril, I don't think she'd suggest returning it to the SoF.
-----
I guess you can say "the Valar needed to see the Noldor had gotten over their prideful ways", but I still don't see how EÄRENDIL giving them a SILMARIL would do that. It wasn't his to give. It wasn't ELWING'S to give. Or Dior's. Or Thingollo's. Or Lúthien's. Or Beren's.
-----

I think the argument that Beren, Lúthien, Thingollo, Dior, and Elwing needed to keep the Silmaril away from the SoF to save the world is complete and utter bs, and I'm not afraid to say it. There's no way the Valar are so cruel and heartless as to let all of Endórë die to Morgoth because they didn't get a Silmaril - that goes against everything that Tolkien believed of them. They're flawed, but they aren't (supposed to be) selfish enough to watch the world burn to prove their point.
I think the compassion Eärendil showed had more of an effect in changing the hearts of the Valar than the Silmaril.

False allegations C.S
I decided to join NNN cause angst and fluff fics don’t get enough love over here. this is my first fic so please dont judge how bad it is. (also english isn’t my first language so please excuse the grammar mistakes 👍🏻)
warnings:ED, breakup,mentions of smoking and alcohol addiction,crying,heartbreak
summary:chris gets sent a video of y/n cheating on him. what happens when he leaves without asking for an explanation?
Y/N’s POV:
I’ve struggled in relationships for years. I’ve never met a guy who treated me right. always cheated on,no guy has truly been loyal to me. i always turned to drinking and smoking as a salvation to my horrible love life and I’ve accepted that I’ll never find true love. that was until i met Chris.
me and chris have been dating for 2 years. our anniversary is in one week from now and i couldn’t be happier. we met through mutual friends and we started dating a month after we met. we’re always together wherever he goes i go too. we even moved together which was shocking for everyone since he’s so attached to his brothers. he cooks me breakfast almost everyday helps me clean the house buys me flowers every week and always shows me off in front of everyone and i could not be happier.
everything was going fine until this morning i woke up and chris was nowhere to be found.
that was strange because he never leaves the house without a text or note saying where he is and why he’s gone. i call matt to ask him but the number goes straight to voicemail. that’s strange??? i call nick next and it says that the number has been changed. what the hell is going on????
i get up from bed to notice that half of chris’s wardrobe is missing. where the fuck did this idiot go?? i walk in the kitchen to find breakfast made and alot of things gone from our house.
i decide to eat breakfast then drive to matt and nick’s house to see what happened. i brush my teeth do skincare sit down eat and head out the door to their house.
i pull up and ring their doorbell. nick opens and his face is disgusted the second he sees me. i’m confused by his expression but still go to hug him “hey-“ he steps back. “leave right now i dont even know how you have the audacity to show up considering what you did.” i stare at him in confusion. “what are you talking about nick. where is chris why are all of your phones turned off??” he rolls his eyes and gets his phone out of his pocket. “lemme show you something that will refresh your memory”
he starts showing me a video of the club i was at and 2 people all over each other. i notice that the girl looks similar to me and stare blankly. “nick what is this?” he looks at me with wide eyes “i should be asking you that y/n. yeah we know you cheated on chris at your cousins birthday party with some random guy. how dare you do that right before your guys’s 2 year anniversary??? get out of my porch and never show up again.”
he slams the door in my face and i start tearing up. i get in the car before anyone sees me and drive home. i didn’t do it that wasn’t even the club we were at why wouldn’t they listen to me i would never cheat on chris i love him to death. fuck this hurts.
after getting home i fall into my bed and cry for hours. i don’t do anything besides crying staring at my ceiling and sleeping for days. after a couple of days i decide to call the one person that’s closest to the triplets other than me. madi.
i call madi and she picks up after 5 rings. “madi please listen to me i didn’t cheat on chris i have proof but nick wouldn’t listen to me.” i start talking before madi starts speaking “y/n how dare you do that i can’t believe you’d cheat on chris after everything he’s sacrificed for you.”
“madi listen to me. i didn’t cheat on chris i have texts and my cousins can prove that i didn’t cheat. i’m literally sending you the proof right now please listen to me i’ve been crying for hours i can’t lose chris he’s the only important person i have left everyone hurt me.”
madi sighs before she opens everything i sent her. pics videos texts everything from that night.
“i believe you. i’m so sorry for turning against you and not believing in you. the triplets are back in boston so we can’t even talk to them.” i break down even more. he’ll be gone for a month and i won’t even be able to talk to him. “oh.” is all i say before i say bye and hang up the phone. i hug my pillow and sob even louder than before.
i lost him. i lost the only person worth waking up for. the only guy who made love worth it and not something insufferable. the only guy who went out his way to show me how much i mean to him and how much i’m worth fighting for. i continue crying until i fall asleep because of how tired i am.
2 weeks later…..
i wake up to loud noise in my room. i open my eyes to see my cousin next to me. “y/n you have to get out of this depression episode and try to move on. why fight for a guy who didn’t even hear you out and moved out without explanation??? he obviously isn’t worth it.”
“andrea you don’t understand. he was the only thing keeping me alive. he was my reason to go. the only reason i was laughing and happy was because i had him in my life. he saved me in ways no one ever did or will. i can’t live without him these last 2 weeks have been literal hell. no one besides you and madi believe me.” i break down again and bury my face in my hands. andrea hugs me tight and holds me until i calm down a little bit.
to say my house has been a mess would be an understatement. trash everywhere. smoked out cigs on the floor wine bottles everywhere. i shouldn’t be this much of a mess but i cant try to get on my feet even when i try. chris took me out of this exact place just to bring me back again.
andrea grabs my arms and lifts me off the bed. “get up we’re cleaning the house and going out for a cousin’s day out. i can’t stand seeing you like this.” i didn’t have a choice so i got up and showered and put on new clothes. i cleaned the house with tears in my eyes i can’t stand not having him here this house is nothing without him. we go out and i smile for the first time in weeks. everything is a little bit better but i still can’t believe he’s gone.
i get back before i notice madi sent me a picture. i pick up the phone and right when i pick it up i drop it the floor. chris hugging another girl. i stare blankly at the ground as tears start streaming down my face.
he moved on that fast without even listening to my side??? 2 weeks ago he was telling me i was the love of his life and now he has a different girl in his arms. i slam my phone down and curl up and cry to sleep.
chris’s pov when he found out:
i wake up to see jade had sent me a video. me and jade used to be in a friends with benefits situation before we realized we weren’t meant for each other. she still tried flirting with me but i kept shutting her out and focusing on my lovely gf and hopefully soon to be wife. i love this girl more than life i wouldn’t imagine my future without her and my brothers there.
i check my phone and to my horror it was a video of y/n making out and grinding on a random guy. at her cousin’s birthday party too. the party where she was texting me non stop. i drop my phone and turn to her side to see her innocently sleeping. how could she do this to me??? after everything we went through together she cheats on me??
i pack my stuff and my belongings that mattered most and head out the door. matt is already here waiting for me. before leaving i make her food because no matter what she does i knew how important eating was because of how much she struggled with eating before we met. i leave the house and go over to my brother’s house.
we get on a flight the next day and plan to stay in boston for a month. y/n showed up yesterday but nick kicked her out. when i heard her voice i broke down. i faced my worst fears did things out of my comfort zone for her to throw it down the drain??? and to think she loved me haha very funny chris which girl ever loved you for y/n to ever love you.
2 weeks later….
me nick and matt have been in boston for 2 weeks and these two weeks have been the hardest time of my life. waking up every day wondering why y/n isn’t by my side or with me. she has tried to reach out to everyone but no one answered her. she even tried to get madi involved to help her out but it didn’t work. i don’t think i could ever forgive her after this. my heart is completely shattered and my trust in anyone is gone. matt and nick have tried to get me to leave the house but have failed since i’ve been a crying mess 24/7.
one night i wake up to jade calling me. i pick my phone up “what do you want i’m trynna sleep.” “chris listen i have something to tell you but please dont kill me. it’s about y/n.” i rise off the bed. no matter how much i couldnt stand seeing her i’m still worried. my heart still worries for her no matter what id rather go to hell and back than have someone/something hurt her.
“what is it.” “remember that video i sent of you of y/n making out and grinding with a random gu-“
“get to the fucking point jade” i start to get irritated now. “well that wasn’t y/n it was one of my friends. i wanted to see if you would break up and realise i’m better for you than she ever was-“
i cut her off. “you did WHAT??” “you fucking bitch. you ruined my relationship with the girl i was planning on proposing to because of what? jealousy? never contact me again.” i slam my phone down rub my face in my hands. i left my girl because some bitch was lying to me. i can’t believe i chose to believe someone else over the woman i wanted to marry.
i run to the living room. “i’m going back to LA right now.” nick turned to face me “what are you talking about chris?” “jade just told me the girl in the video wasn’t y/n and that she did that to make me jealous. i have to go back to LA and see y/n i cant believe i believed some girl over my future wife” “your future what?” “nick i was planning on proposing to her on our anniversary don’t you remember???” nick’s eyes went wide. “do you still have the ring?” i swallowed loudly. “of course i do i wouldn’t wanna marry anyone else.”
i go back to my room and book the first flight i could find to LA which was at 3am. nick and matt will stay another week but no way in hell i’m staying another minute without her.
3 am rolls around and matt drops me off to the airport. i get on my flight an hour later and call madi in the meantime to make sure she’s in touch with y/n. she tells me y/n hasn’t left the house until andrea made her go out and that the house was in horrible condition. my heart broke at that. my poor girl. all this because i chose to believe someone else over her.i call an uber and it takes me straight to her house. it was pouring rain in LA which was suprising because it hardly rains here.
i ring her doorbell and stand outside. she slowly opens the door. “madi i told you i don’t want to see any-“ she freezes when she sees me before she starts tearing up. the moment she opens the door i drop to my knees hugging her legs and sobbing “i’m so sorry my love i’m so fucking sorry for not listening to you and making you go back to this horrible place again. i promise to never do this again please just forgive me i can’t live without you.” i keep sobbing into her legs.
she lowers herself to my level and grabs my face kissing my tears away. “i forgive you but i’ll still need time to recover. i couldn’t live with the thought of you never wanting to see me again.” she sobs as she looks at me in the eyes. “i’ll always be here i’m not going anywhere.” i grab her arms and stand up before squeezing her into my chest.
andrea comes behind y/n and throws a spoon at me before i duck. “woah woah calm down” “you better have apologized to her you moron she barely got out of your bed.” “i did and i’ll continue to show how sorry i am everyday till she forgives me fully.” i kiss her head and bury my face in her hair.
“ok love birds i’m leaving you alone. if you do some bullshit again i’m throwing a knife next time.” i laugh before taking my suitcase to our room. the room smells of cigarettes. “how much did you smoke in here it stings.” i don’t mind the smoke i used to smoke too but i know y/n never smoked in our room before this. “sorry i was not in the right place so i didn’t even care to smoke outside.” she looks down as i kiss her cheek. “don’t feel bad baby i don’t mind. now let’s cuddle and watch gilmore girls again.” she turns to me and flashes me her beautiful smile. as i see her smile i realize i’d never want to be anywhere besides here with her smiling at the stupidest things ever as she hugs me.
we watch gilmore girls for awhile while she lays on my chest asleep. i smile and kiss her head “i love you so much pretty girl happy 2 years.” i feel her move her head before she places a kiss on my cheek and goes back to sleep. fuck this girl drives me crazy.

I can imagine a distant future of Santi overcoming his nature and finally realizing his dreams of having and raising kids. Then, one time he goes to visit his old friend Vesper who's like " So how are you and your *gags* chi- *gags* child *gags* the family is doing ?"
[*Snort*. This is a collection of little moments between Santi and Vesper after Santi has kids.]
Santi doesn't visit as often.
It's only a given, not only does he now have children of his own to take care of, the incubus also knows his presence has stopped being as pleasant to the Ring of Lust as it once was.
He's not necessarily surprised by such.
After all, Santi behaves in a much more subdued manner, dresses a lot more, his clothes have the stink of children, even when he washes them. He can't blame Vesper for scratching at himself and snorting in distaste every now and then. They are still friends, but life has taken them down very different paths.
That doesn't mean some encounters aren't funny to the incubus.
" No. No no! " The King covers his eyes with a clawed hand. " You did not just walk into my chambers with a turtleneck sweater. "
Santi's cheeks are puffed. " King Ves- "
" A fucking sweater, this absolute- " Santi can't help but let a cackle slip. " Take it off right now, I feel sick- I'm going to call the imps over to strip you if you don't! "
[...]
Santi passes his phone to the King, allowing the demonlord to swipe through an album full of family pictures.
Vesper's lips keep curling higher at every picture, no matter how much he tries to muffle that response.
" Well uhm. They're... They sure are. " The King tries, but all he sees are snot-nosed ankle biters who likely stink of all that's nasty.
" They are. " Santi parrots, a devious grin on his face at the other's discomfort.
" I- " A long, pensive hum follows. " They look... "
" Is it really that hard? " The darker demon snickers.
" I'm finding it, Santi. Be patient. "
[...]
While cooking, you get to listen to a call between your husband and the King of Lust on speaker. When the topic becomes inappropriate, both adults switch to infernal language. Santi helps your daughter dress her baby doll, while your son sits by the carpet watching his favorite show.
" Alright, I should get a move on. " Santi says, watching you struggle with a few pans. " We can catch up eventually. Say bye to uncle Vee. "
Both children parrot mildly enthusiastic goodbyes, until your son pipes up. "Dad? " Santi hums. " When will uncle Vee visit? "
" Never. " Comes from the phone immediately, and the incubus doesn't need to see the King to know he's shivering in dread.
Your kids start deflating, to which their father is quick to think of something. " Ah, see, uncle Vee can't visit us. "
" Why? " The little girl sits her doll down, now brushing its hair.
" Uhm. " The incubus opens and closes his mouth a few times. " He's trapped in a biiig castle. " Pause. " And there's a dragon. "
" A dragon?! " Your son's fixation has been mentioned, he's almost vibrating.
" Yes. " Santi nods. " It's very big. And it doesn't like little boys and girls. "
" Aww.... " Both of them huff.
The girl frowns. " I'm sorry uncle Vee. "
" No, it's quite alright. I'll live, the dragon isn't that bad. " Vesper seems to sigh in relief.
" That means a knight is going to save you soon! " She brightens up immediately. " And then he's going to woo you, and you're going to marry! Can I go to the wedding, uncle Vee? Can I? "
Santi covers his mouth with his palm so as to not openly bark in laughter.
" I uh- Y-Yes, of course sweetie. Goodbye now, the uh, dragon, is calling me... "

4.
YASMINE It was nine in the morning as the birds were chirping, and sunlight was beaming through my curtains I and Jey were sleeping soundly while I was lying on top of his body while his hands were resting on my butt firmly underneath the warm blanket.
We were sleeping well until I heard my door open, which caused me to flutter my eyes open, squinting to see who was at my door. I saw that it was Bianca coming in, seeing me and him sleeping in the same bed together.
"Is y'all two like dating or something?" She whispered. I immediately shook my head while she snickered at me.
Feeling Jey shifting his position and pulling me down with him, which shocked Me, and Bianca gripping my butt tightly, making my body feel electricity when he did that.
"Please don't tell Montez about this...even though he knows, but don't tell me about this part." I whispered as she nodded her head before heading out.
Bianca shut the door as I gazed up at Jey, who was still sleeping soundly, mumbling something. Maybe he was having a bad dream right now, which is why he did what he did.
He slithered his hands inside of my shorts. It made me feel a little bit wet from him doing this, but I had to get up and get ready for work. Today, I do hair on the side because it's my favorite thing to do.
I tried to get up from his grasp, but he wouldn't move, "J-Josh...I gotta get up, c'mon." He groaned, not even hinting that he wanted to get up.
'I'm going to be late for work because of this man.'
I just lay there for a moment before trying again. I was playing in his mullet, watching him sleep. His features looked so beautiful that I couldn't help but admire him.
I grabbed his phone, which was next to him, and checked the time. I sighed deeply, knowing that I was going to be late, so I managed to escape his grip while standing up and walking quietly toward my bathroom.
I removed my clothing as I began my skincare routine before heading into the shower. While I was doing that, I heard my bedroom door opening. Montez was probably in there, and that's when I heard thumping on the floor.
'Do these two have to play fight in my bedroom?'
I heard them two going at it with each other playfully as I finished up my skincare routine. When I realized I hadn't brought my towel with me, I cursed under my breath. I slightly opened the door, seeing them two wrestling each other on the ground. That's when I cleared my throat, gaining their attention.
"What's up Minks?" Montez questioned me.
"I forgot my towel can one of yall bring it to me please?" I said, having the door slightly closed so that they wouldn't be scarred for life by my naked figure.
They both stared at each other figuring out who was going to bring me my towel 'I literally told these dickheads one of them can bring it, why do men have to be stupid.' That's when Jey got up from the floor and saw my pink towel that was hanging from my chair.
He walked towards me, holding my towel in his hands, smiling at me before heading towards Montez.
"Thank you Josh."
"You're welcome ma." Jey said, hearing the bathroom door shut.
✧˚° After eating breakfast with everyone, I managed to make it to work. I saw everyone getting their heads done, and then I went inside the break room to clock in for work.
I felt my phone buzz while I pulled it out from my pocket, seeing that Jey had texted me. I had three or four clients today for hair appointments, so today would be busy.
Joshua🤍 sent 2+ messages IMESSAGE 💬 Joshua🤍: Hey, Mama I was seeing if you made it to work safe Joshua🤍: you're one hell of a cook girl is there anything you can't do? 😭
I smiled at his messages. He seemed so sweet and genuine, but I had to protect myself at all costs, and I really did want us to be friends first before anything happened. But I don't know. It's like every time I see him or even be around him, he always makes me nervous.
IMESSAGE 💬 Yasmine🩵: yes I made it to work safe Josh Joshua🤍: that's good mama so your brother calls you Minks? Huh? Yasmine🩵: yeah, it's a nickname he would call me growing up as a kid Joshua🤍: it's cute I should change yo' name in my phone to that. Yasmine🩵: it's your world Joshua do whatever Joshua🤍: whatever little girl Yasmine🩵: 🖕🏼🖕🏼
I'm tired of his ass calling me a little girl like a he's big dawg or something; one of my clients came in a bit late due to traffic. I told them that I wasn't trippin' and was very understanding with the whole traffic situation.
As I was washing their locs in the sink, I couldn't help but think about Jey and how gentle he is with me as a friend, of course. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to fall in love again after what happened to me.
But Jey is something different; different from the others. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. After washing their locs, I sat them down in the hairdryer so that their locs could dry. In the meantime, I was getting my loc gel and comb ready for them, along with texting Jey.
Yasmine🩵: what'chu doing? Joshua🤍: I'm at the gym working out right now Yasmine🩵: interesting 🤔 Joshua🤍: wym by that? you wanna see a pic or something? Yasmine🩵: nah nah i was just saying that's all I thought you would be chilling in the crib Joshua🤍: well I got a dark match tonight on smackdown so I have to be in good shape Yasmine🩵: a'ight a'ight Joshua🤍:
'This man is going to shoot me dead like woah.'
Yasmine🩵: okay period get them gains boy Joshua🤍: girl, yo' ass is funny for real Yasmine🩵: what can I say I'm the funniest person in the fam 🙂 Joshua🤍: don't you got a client to be focusing one right now ma'am? Yasmine🩵: yes but their hair is drying right now, and not too much don't be tryna clock me sir 🙄 Joshua🤍: you and that sassy ass attitude of yours Yasmine🩵: what'chu goin' to do about it?
'Where is this boldness coming from?'
Joshua🤍: fuck around and find out Minks 🙂 Yasmine🩵: you know what let me go finish my clients hair before I catch a case Joshua🤍: man, you ain't gonna do a damn thing little mama better watch yo' self Yasmine🩵: yap yap yap that's all I hear right now Josh and you aren't goin' do shit either so that makes the two of us. 😀💁🏼♀️ Joshua🤍: mhm just wait until I see yo' ass
I rolled my eyes at the text he just sent he's so annoying he's like another annoying ass brother hell he's even worse than Montez ass, i sat my client down in the chair and began parting their hair doing what I do best.
They showed me what hairstyles they wanted, and I told them I could do that for them. As I was focusing on their hair, I heard a familiar voice coming in the background; not even paying attention, noticing that an unwanted presence was walking up towards me.
I looked up only to see Carmelo standing there with my favorite roses in his hands along with some other things, I don't know if this was him telling me that he's sorry or some type of trick for him to do it to me again.
"Carmelo what are you doing here?" I questioned him.
"Baby I just came to visit my favorite girl at work. Are you coming to support me tonight for my dark match?" Carmelo said.
"I'm going to be there only to support Montez and Jey..." when I said that name his facial expression dropped immediately.
He remembered what he had said to me, saying how I only belonged to him and only him, so when he heard me say another man's name, he didn't like that.
"As in Jey Uso?"
"Yeah, Jonathan's twin." I replied while applying the clips onto their locs.
"What's goin with'chu and him?" Why the fuck is he asking me all of these questions I literally just met Jey and we are just friends 'or so I thought.'
Like he's being possessive when we aren't even together anymore, how the fuck does that work?
"Look, don't start this in here with me while I'm at work. You can leave respectfully," I said sternly, staring deeply into his dark brown eyes.
"I'm just asking baby, ion' want no other nigga to be all in that like I do shit he probably can't handle all of you." I scoffed in disbelief. How could he be so confident about this? When he doesn't even know the little mini flirting that me and Jey do like, Jey could scoop me up right away in a heartbeat.
I nodded my head, cooperating with him so that nothing terrible happened to me while I was there because he was crazy and he could end up doing what he did before.
He placed a kiss on my cheek, which gave me shivers down my spine. How badly I wanted to wipe that fucking kiss off of my face as he walked off.
I immediately wiped the kiss off my cheek, feeling disgusted as I continued to do their locs.
✧˚° I was done with work today and made a lot of tips, which made me happy. I texted Montez, letting him know that I'll be in his locker room watching his match, including Jey's match as well. I have never seen him wrestle before in the ring, so this should be interesting.
As I was walking towards his locker room i bumped into Jey who had his yeet gear on along with his golden grills including his piercings and fresh haircut I just wanted to pass out right then and there but I had to play it cool.
"My fault minks didn't even see you there yo' ass is short." Jey said jokingly as I punched him in his arm.
"Don't be coming for my height just because you're taller than me don't mean that I won't whoop that ass." I said boldly as he had a smug expression appearing on his lips.
"You like to talk a lot of shit don't you little mama." I nodded my head while folding my arms over my chest standing my ground I was not finna play with him right now.
Little did I know someone was watching us behind the corner.
"Last time I checked, I said you weren't going to do anything about it." I got all up in his face, looking deeply into his low, hooded eyes.
I felt him pull me by the waist so that I could be closer to his body, he smelt so good it felt like I was in heaven right now with him.
Our faces were close to each other lips almost touching each other while he whispered something in my ear, "and last time I checked I said fuck around and find out didn't I?" His voice was so deep and raspy, almost killing somebody.
My breathing felt uneven, being underneath him like this. Why am I getting like this with him? I looked down at my hands, fiddling with them as he grabbed my chin, making me stare into his eyes yet again.
Earning a smile from him before brushing his thumb against my lips, "your adorable minks but I'll see you later after my match yeah?"
"Yeah, I'll be in Montez's locker room," I said as he and I backed away from each other, letting him off to his match while I walked inside Montez's locker room.
She sat down in the chair, staring up at the TV, seeing her brother and Angelo coming out with B-fab, hyping up the crowd. They always played in my brother's face like he wouldn't have a title shot.
As I was watching them, I heard the door opening and saw Trinity coming in. She came up to me, giving me a hug before sitting down.
"Hey babygirl how are you mentally?" She asked.
"I'm doing better mentally, honestly." I replied seeing Montez and Angelo coming out.
She raised an eyebrow at me, "And who's helping you out with that girl?" I didn't say anything; I just looked at her and then back up at the screen, watching my brother's match.
Trinity got the hint of who was helping out with that, and she knew that it was her brother-in-law, Jey. He and I are just friends, and he's been helpful throughout the whole thing.
"So you and Josh?" My eyes fixed on her. "We are just friends, Trin; nothing more. I told you all I think I wanna be in a relationship again."
"I understand if I were in your shoes, Yasmine, but I think Josh is different from any other guy that you have dealt with, including Carmelo. But I get it, " she said.
I nodded my head while watching Montez get dropped on the table, feeling his pain, as I was watching my brother get demolished right now. Meanwhile, I started to drown in my thoughts, thinking about what had happened earlier at work and then the intense moment Jey and I had together.
I threw away the roses he had bought me not wanting to trace any negative energy around me and when he kissed me on the cheek I just felt so disgusted especially after what he did to me.
I was listening to what Trinity had said about Jey. Maybe she's right, and maybe he is different from any other guy I was with, but I would have to see that for myself. But did I really want to go through that route again?
Dating someone just for them to hurt me again at this point I might as well kill myself if that was the case. Nonetheless I have to protect myself at all cost.
"Do you know when you're debuting on Smackdown?"
"I have no idea Paul hasn't said anything to me yet about it." I said shrugging my shoulders in the process.
"Well, he needs to figure it out so I can see my girl do some flips." I chuckled at her. Looking at the screen, I saw that Montez and Angelo got the W for tonight. I think Jey's match is the main event after the commercial break.
Hearing Montez coming in with Bianca as he held onto his head with an ice pack, man if I was in his shoes right now I probably would've been in pain man.
"How are you feeling brother?"
"Nigga I'm in pain girl just wait until you start you'll understand." Montez said.
"Nigga What'chu mean? I already felt it when I was in NXT." I said jokingly while rolling my eyes at him.
"So, Yasmine, how are you and Joshua?" Montez looked at me and then back at Bianca, confused, trying to figure out what she was talking about.
I told her to stop talking about it because there wasn't anything going on between me and him. We are just friends, nothing more. Well, that's what I believe because we've been doing some mini flirting, like earlier before I came to the Montez locker room.
But Montez wasn't buying it he wanted to know since he trust Jey with his life. "Brother, nothing is happening between him and I; I promise we are just friends." I earned a hum from him as he was smelling bullshit but just left it alone.
I know how overprotective Montez is toward me, especially now since the incident that happened, so of course, he's going to be looking out for me.
I heard Jey's music playing as his match was approaching. I saw him coming out of the gorilla and going towards the ring, mouthing to the camera, "Here I go, here I go." I couldn't help but admire him as I watched him go out there.
He was interacting with the crowd as they waved the hands up and down vibing out with him.
✧˚° I was walking towards the gorilla to congratulate Jey on his win tonight when I felt someone pull me to the side before I could turn. When I turned around, I saw Carmelo next to me with his arms folded.
I rolled my eyes at him, trying to ignore his presence. Walking in, the gorilla saw Jey standing there, his hair all messy and sweating. Man, he never fails to look so good.
He had his back turned, talking to Jonathan about something. As I tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around, noticing my little self gazing up at him.
I still felt Carmelo's presence behind me as Jey gazed down at me with a smile while giving me a hug. I knew that Carmelo was watching, probably fuming right now at the sight.
"Hey, pretty girl you watched my match for tonight?" Jey asked as he kept his hands on my hips.
"Yeah, I did you did a great job out there Josh." I said.
"Thank you, hope I can see you out there I heard you were on hell of an athlete doing flips and shit." I chuckled at him maintaining that eye contact with him god he was so fine and mesmerizing to see.
That's when we heard someone clear their throat behind us, completely forgetting that Carmelo was standing right there with his arms folded, looking at Jey and me. Meanwhile, Jonathan was behind us, knowing that he was protecting me away from him.
Shit both of them were.
"Can we talk in private Yasmine?" Carmelo asked.
"No, I don't wanna speak nor be around you Melo I gotta go home because I'm tired." I said as I felt Jey's hand around my waist.
"Nah it's because you're around this nigga, I told you; you better not find nobody else because you belong to me didn't I?" Jey came in front of me, standing in his face, staring down as they had a face-off with each other.
"She don't belong to nobody like she's some pet show some fucking respect." Jey said sternly.
Carmelo looked him up and down, scoffing before leaving out the gorilla, mouthing that I was going to get it whenever I was alone and not with them, but as long as they were around, he couldn't do a damn thing.
Jey turned around and faced me, signaling Jon that we needed some privacy alone, and that's what he did, leaving me and him alone.
"Thanks for sticking up for me, Josh. That really means a lot," I said, fiddling with my fingers.
"It's all good mama, ion know what's your history with him but he's toxic." Knowing damn well he knew that was your ex-boyfriend me and him walked towards his locker room as he shut the door behind us while I sat down on his couch.
My eyes followed his every move as he took off the gear that he had on; I looked away, scrolling through my socials, not trying to get caught by him.
"Did you drive here to work Yasmine?" He asked.
"Yeah, I did why? Did you want to take me home?"
"I did, actually, that's why I had to ask, but are you good being in here by yourself while I go take a shower?" I nodded my head as he left toward the restrooms, locking the door to make sure nobody came in.
I was on my phone waiting for Joshua to finish when I saw that Montez had texted me.
Big Bro Tez💪🏽 sent 2+ messages IMESSAGE 💬 Big Bro Tez💪🏽: where are you Minks? Big Bro Tez: lemme' know
I know that he's worried about be and my whereabouts but I was with Joshua I am safe.
Minnie🧃: I'm okay Montez I'm in Joshua's locker room right now. Big Bro Tez💪🏽: oh A'ight I was just making sure that's all Minnie🧃: he made sure to lock the door so nobody won't come in Big Bro Tez💪🏽: okay, then little sis I'll see you at home. Minnie🧃: kk
After texting Montez to let him know what was happening, I made sure I had my keys and purse with me. I've seen Jey coming in with some fresh new clothes on, along with his hair still being wet.
"Hey, I'm finna head home Josh." I spoke as he watched me get up from the couch.
"Lemme' walk you to your car then that way I could get to mines as well." Jey replied as I nodded my head while we both walked out the locker room together going towards the garage.
As we were walking down to the garage, I felt his gaze on me, as if he were admiring me. However, I didn't want to catch him in the act, so I just played it off.
He was so bad at hiding it, too, which made me snicker at him, causing him to raise an eyebrow at me. "What's so funny?" I looked up at him seeing his face being all serious.
"You're funny Joshua, not trying to get caught stealing glances at me or what?" I said in a teasing tone.
"Don't start with that teasing shit Yasmine." I rolled my eyes at him while sticking my tongue out at him.
"Or what? What are you goin' to do Josh?" I was tempting him right now as I could see that same smug expression on his face that he had earlier when we had this similar conversation—running his available hand down his beard.
I finally reached my car, opened the backseat, threw my purse inside, and shut the door.
I felt his hands on my hips turning me around as he cornered me keeping me in place, our faces were close to each other.
"You're honestly testing me Minks."
I shrugged my shoulders at him, folding my arms over my chest.
"What can I say sir, I love to test people's patience so they can fix it." I said boldly, grabbing his face and squeezing his cheeks, his hands slithering down my ass cheeks, squeezing them, causing me to yelp.
"What'chu want me to fix huh? That sassy ass attitude of yours?" Lord have mercy, his deep voice will be the death of me speaking to me like this. All of that confidence just went down the drain after he spoke up like that.
I glanced down at my feet while he gently raised my chin, his fingers brushing his thumb on my lips, and stared deeply at me.
"Don't got nun to say? What happened little mama?"
"Boy, fuck you and move so I can get in the car." He gave me a swat on the ass cheeks, holding them since he enjoys that stuff, me being all snarky towards him.
'I feel like me and his chemistry is there like so there.'
'But I remember what I told myself: don't be vulnerable around anybody or give in. With Joshua he seems so different from the rest.'
Joshua stays that way including eye contact with each other; he is quite patient with me and understanding especially where I am coming from during all of this.
"Fix that attitude."
"No, Josh moveeee." I whined
"Nah, c'mere princess." He scooped me up by the thighs placing me on the trunk of my car getting between my legs.
As he looked down at me with his hooded eyes and I looked up at him with my innocent ones, he was giving me a lot of anxiety right now. He licked his lips while glancing down at my lips and then back to my gaze.
I was unsure of his next move, but I could feel his stiff member between my legs as his hand brushed my cheek and lifted my chin.
"J-Josh...I want to take things slow...I want to get to know you more before anything..." I said softly.
"I understand mama ion' wanna pressure you into anything let's get to know each other a little better and be best friends." He said placing a kiss on my cheek.
This made me blush a little bit while looking away from him for a second. He chuckled at my cuteness before moving away from my legs.
He held his hand out as I took it, getting down from my trunk and fixing myself as he opened my door for me like a true gentleman.
When I got inside my car, he stood there, asking, "Am I going to see you tomorrow?" I nodded my head as he shut my door gently while I pushed the button to start the ignition.
Before I drove off towards the gate, I blew him a kiss. He was so charming, staring down at me like that, that I wondered what would have occurred if we had gone a little farther. I could feel his firm member between my legs, which made me realize he must have been packing.
Because of my commitment difficulties, I do not want to rush things since I am afraid he would cheat on me. Or, while we are currently great friends, find someone else. I began to obsess over it, wondering if Carmelo was correct. Although she is most likely saying it because it is her brother-in-law, I still want to trust what Trinity said.
I am not sure, but I will continue to protect my heart with this barrier.
SomeThing Bout' Us.
A/n: things between Yasmine and Jey are getting spicy right now but I'm glad that Jey is respecting her and him wanting to be best friends with her.
Carmelo ass finna be shitty when he finds out about them two being all over each other.
But I hope yall enjoy this chapter lmk in the comments below.
Stay Ucey.

“hasn’t it been a while?”
“what?”
“it shouldn’t take over an hour for her to grab a couple of things from her room and come back.”
garroth’s leg bounces in place from where he sits on the couch, his brow furrowed as he picks up his phone to glance at the empty notification screen, then back to the tv.
“maybe she just took a shower or got caught up talking to her parents,” katelyn surposes. “you don’t need to be such a worry wart.”
aphmau bites at her lip, glancing back at her front door as if her friend would suddenly burst through, apologizing for taking so long and ready to watch a movie. had it really been that long? she’d been so distracted with talking and making sure everyone was comfortable that she hadn’t realized how much time had passed. the amber-eyed girl remains silent as she stews at the sudden realization that it had in fact been over an hour, with not a single message in explanation.
“do we really want to risk that? i texted her fifteen minutes ago and she still hasn’t responded.”
the room goes quiet.
“…he’s right,” laurance sighs. “i was thinking the same thing, but i was trying not to be paranoid.”
vylad suddenly stands, gesturing to the door. “why don’t we just check? even if she’s just taking her time she should get over here and enjoy the fun before we get tired.”
despite his passive and rational words, the younger boy’s green eyes stew with worry, lips pursing as he bites the insides of his round cheeks.
“then let’s go talk to my mom,” aphmau stands, her feet quick as she crosses the room.
camping buddies
laurance: what’s with the holdup?
vylad: yeah, are you coming back soon?
delivered, 10:30 pm
“mom.” aphmau implores as soon as sylvanna makes it to the last step of the staircase, nearly falling over from how quickly she ran to her and steadying herself on the railing. “she’s not back yet.”
“hm?” the older woman raises her eyebrows concerningly at the sight of the panicked teens at her feet, looking up to the door when she pieces together what her daughter is talking about. her eyebrows pull together as she looks around at everyone’s round eyes. “have you texted–”
“yes, no response.” garroth’s words quickly tumble out of his mouth, swallowing and blinking rapidly as his finger taps on the back of his phone case anxiously. he should’ve gone with her.
“i also texted.”
“so did i.”
vylad and laurance’s phone screens face towards the now panic-stricken woman, her amber eyes round and lips thinned out in a tense line. very quickly she gathers herself, noticing how her reaction only further worsened the anxious air.
“well, let’s go check her house,” she clears her throat, waving them towards the door, her steps quick.
the group paces down the dark sidewalk, eyes darting in every direction. everything seems so in order–from the crickets peacefully chirping in the otherwise quiet neighborhood, to the warm street lamps shining down on their path ahead. but the air felt so thick. so suffocating. their brief careless moment where their judgement lapsed seems to float mockingly in the air around them, squeezing their lungs and choking their throats. everyone’s breaths are hitched as they pace up to their friend’s door, six sets of eyes burning into the door as if she’d appear there with an apologetic smile on her face. sylvanna steps ahead first, urgently rapping her knuckles against the surface.
instead of an audible sigh of relief from the group, everyone’s breaths seem to hold when the door opens to reveal a very confused expression from the household's mother. she’s wrapped up in her pajamas, seeming to have been having a very peaceful night as she was under the impression her baby was safely a few houses down.
“sylvanna?” she questions, the peacefulness surrounding her dissipating into the air when she glances around at the teary-eyed teens only to not see her own amongst them. “what’s going on?”
“is she here?”
there’s a moment of tense silence as the woman’s eyes drift back to her. “what do you mean…?”
“she left the house… an hour ago to come get some things from here.”
“hour and a half,” aphmau interjects, shifting on her feet. “isn’t she here?”
“...no. no, she never was tonight.”
garroth’s eyes are trained on the woman’s slippers in the doorway. he felt frozen from where he stood in the back of the group, his throat thick with the lump he’d barely managed to swallow down for the past few minutes. he can’t bring himself up to look up into her eyes, the ones so similar to the ones he’d bid farewell to just earlier. when he hears a choked sob and a call for the man inside the house, his feet turn back to the sidewalk he’d just come from, his face cold as guilt slows the flow of blood to his face.
she’s still here, he knows she is.
“i’ll be okay.”
that’s what she said. that’s what she told him. so she’s okay. who’d take her just after he’d closed the door? how could that happen?
a glint of something shining against the street catches his eyes, the blurriness from the mistiness that clouded his vision amplifying its reflection. he stops in his tracks, slowly turning to the offending object with a clenched jaw like it’d just slapped him across his face.
a familiar locket. one he’d remembered his mom wearing when he was younger. one that she’d worn this entire year without fail. so carelessly thrown against the pavement, the chain broken and loosely tangled.
“garroth? what is it?” vylad calls, eyebrows furrowed as he looks at his brother in the distance.
everyone turns as the blond crouches to pick something up, turning as he lifts the necklace. it sways in the air, glinting in the street light as if to mockingly taunt them.
there she is.
everything’s a blur, but the kids find themselves scattered in aphmau’s room, heads hung low and bodies limp.
“you kids just… stay in here,” sylvanna croaks, sucking in a stuttered breath and wiping her face. “i don’t want any of you running out to look for her. i’ll go talk to the police and then…”
red and blue flashes obnoxiously through the window, the colors so uncomfortably bright in the dark room. the only response she gets is silence, save for a few weeping hiccups and sharp inhales.
“…garroth, the police need that for… evidence,” she shakily holds her hand out, eyes trained on the locket clenched tightly between his fingers.
he barely seems to process her words, hands trembling and cold against the metal, eyes unfocused.
“the locket, garroth,” laurance whispers, swallowing as he tears his eyes from his phone, the messages on the screen only blue.
he holds it out to sylvanna’s palm and drops it, barely moving from his spot as he stares at the floor instead.
she sucks in a breath as if wanting to say something else, but no words can even come to mind. what can she say? everything will be okay? she’ll be right back?
her footsteps quietly return to the doorway, the conversation ending with a soft click of the door shutting behind her.
it’s so loud.
the incessant ringing.
if you could talk you’d yell at someone to make it stop, but you can’t. you can’t talk. can’t move. it’s just black.
black at first.
then a myriad of somehow dark yet vibrant colors swirl behind your eyelids, fading into shapes and disappearing beyond your vision. your mouth feels so dry, barely allowing your lips to crack open and let out a hoarse groan. body so so cold yet trembling with feverish aches at the same time.
and the ringing. it makes your head throb and stomach churn queasily as it continues to drone in your ears. finally, you see what you think is likely reality, eyes blearily opening to reveal a cold and empty room, save for the hard hospital-like bed you laid on. a metal, prison cell door was on the opposite side from where you lay, revealing a cold, concrete hallway lit by dim fluorescent lights.
the color makes you feel sick, more than you already did. when you gain some feeling in your arms you shift to your elbows, the action requiring all the strength you can muster. itchy fabric irritates your skin, and you look down to realize your clothes from before are gone, replaced by a hospital patient’s two-piece. on your sleeve was simply an embroidered “3”.
where the hell were you?
as the ringing starts to finally fade from your ears, you catch the sound of heels clicking against the ground. a woman appears from the other side of the bars, and you recognize the blue hair that framed her face. it sends a shock of anxiety through her blood, stopping you from screaming or shouting.
something about her is so familiar yet vastly unnerving at the same time.
“good, you’re awake,” she states, voice a chilling monotone. there wasn’t an ounce of empathy or warmth in it. “don’t move or fight. it’ll only make it worse.”
the door squeaks as she unlocks and pulls it open, walking to the foot of your bed and pulling it towards the door. your weak arms collapse beneath the sudden movement, and your vision swims and twists as she takes you into the hallway.
“hm. for as fast as you heal you aren’t so good at fighting off sedatives. interesting.”
“who… are you?” you manage to rasp.
sharp blue eyes glance down at you in annoyance. “you don’t recognize me?”
she does look familiar, her features and coloring similar to…
kate?
but that doesn’t make any sense. who is this woman?
“am i supposed to?” you manage to snip back despite the unsettling feeling in your stomach.
“i guess not, though it’s annoying when i have to explain things.”
the woman doesn’t elaborate further and instead drags you into another room. the lights in there are blindingly bright, leaving you more disoriented as you’re forced to shut your eyes. two sets of tougher hands grasp onto you, lifting you from the bed and setting you into an uncomfortable chair. squinting your eyes open, you manage to see what looks almost like a lab surrounding you.
your vision was still blurred and swimming with spots of black, but you manage to see a head of dark brown hair walking away from you on your right side. it’s him.
he stalks off to some computers, not sparing you a glance. you know it’s him, though, and it only further sends prickles of anxiety through your hands and feet.
“ein. we’ve been over this. quit hesitating and put the restraints on.” the cold woman commands with a click of her tongue, looking up from her clipboard to the left of you.
you tilt your head over, noticing the werewolf who stood beside you. he was the one who’d been with the man in the park that day. he looks… nervous. gray eyes dart from your face down to the chair, face pale. he only looks like a kid. like he was your age.
without another word he reaches down and latches cool metal around your wrists, leaning down to do the same to your ankles.
“good. now go, i don’t need you anymore.”
ein stands, his ears flat against his head as he looks at you one last time, before quickly walking to the door and disappearing without another word.
it’s quiet for a moment before you speak up again. “i asked you who you were.”
the woman glances up from her clipboard, seeming unamused. despite her opposition to talking, she sets the clipboard down, sighing and placing a hand on her hip.
“my name is elizabeth. embry.”
your blood freezes. “…embry?”
“well, not any longer. eric and i were done a long time ago.” she scoffs. “i can tell you did recognize me, whether you realized it or not. i’m aware my daughter did take after me.”
your brain buzzes as you piece together her words.
“you’re… katelyn’s mom?”
“that’s quite a stupid look on your face,” she notes, picking up her clipboard again. “did your parents really not tell you anything? hah, how laughable. thought they were protecting you, did they? that did you well.”
despite her words, there’s barely any humor on her face.
“what are you talking about?” your voice shakes.
she scoffs. “oh, please. i really have to explain everything?”
she places her clipboard down again, rolling up the sleeves of her lab coat as she walks over to some cabinets and starts shuffling through them. “you are a subject of mine that got away far too quickly for my liking.”
“…subject?”
“my third one. subject three.”
you watch in silence as she pulls a vial out, the glass filled with an iridescent green liquid.
“your healing ability was phenomenal. it was a shame your father was so determined. he got you far far away from here before i could finish. it took me a while to track you down.”
heels click against the floor as she walks back over to you, staring coolly at your panic-stricken face.
“so you have noticed. i can tell by that look on your face. can’t recall the last time your injuries lasted longer than a day? or when you broke a bone?” she questions. “or even the last time you were sick? did you think you were just lucky?”
you’re speechless. the only thing you could see in your mind was your parents' nervous face when you broke your nose fighting ivy that day, only to be fine just minutes later. it was almost a year ago, and it seemed so distant from where you were now. the drama and heartache seem so minuscule. so insignificant. you almost crave the simplicity of it. when your biggest worry was getting caught skipping school or petty drama.
“as for the others,” she continues, “they also got away too quickly. once your parents—and the others—caught on to the type of experimenting we needed to do, they pulled you all away. but this is what michael needs. i have to make sure everything is perfect.”
her words echo in your brain in a jumbled mess.
“w-who is michael…?”
she ignores your question, pulling the liquid from the viral into a syringe, and flicking the side. “of course, your friends turned out decently. but you. you were the one i needed more information on.”
“my friends?”
“oh, yes. speaking of—how are they? my daughter… the ro’meave boy… valkrum… do they seem strong? faster than average?” she questions.
you clench your jaw shut staring warily at the woman. valkrum? that’s travis’s last name. and was she talking about garroth?
“hm, not going to tell me anything? you’re not as dumb as i thought. it’s annoying, but i’ll give you credit where it’s due.” she straightens, pulling up your arm and tugging at the skin, seeming to search for a vein. “regardless, you were the one i was after the most. though, if subject one had followed you out of the house, it would’ve been nice to grab him too. it might’ve been messier, though. so it’s probably for the best that he didn't.”
garroth…
“…where am i now?” you whisper.
you flinch as her bony hands tightly wrap around your arm, holding it still as she injects the strange liquid into your bloodstream. it burns, and you can feel every drop of it trimming against your skin. you wince and groan at the feeling, attempting to squirm away but quickly getting stopped by the restraints.
elizabeth sets down the empty syringe on a nearby table, glancing at you before scribbling onto her clipboard again. “oh, you were just here. well, close by, at least. i’m not sure what garte was thinking. setting a new vacation spot right next to here, but… he was never the brightest out of all of us.”
“all of us?” you repeat, before hunching over with a muffled yelp as a wave of pain shoots through your spine.
“isn’t it obvious? didn’t you ever pick up on strange behavior with your parents? the ro’meaves? sylvanna?”
the man turns his head over at that, his eyes meeting yours for a brief moment.
“sylvanna?” you stutter, shoulders trembling. “ah—”
the pain shoots into your head, stabbing against your skull.
“mm. if zack here hadn’t fucked up so badly, we could’ve successfully had her daughter as the fifth subject, but…” she turns back, giving a harsh glare at the man. he stares back for just a moment, before turning to the screens again.
“it doesn’t matter. you and four are the main candidates anyway. he’s already a vessel…” she glances back at you, cutting herself off. “…by the end of my experiments, i don’t expect you to remember much. but i won't explain any further to be sure.”
you can barely process her words any longer, ears ringing. you feel like your blood is about to burst from your body, the veins in your arm growing bright green.
“what…did you do to me?” you cry, gasping for air.
“i injected the last strain of our original forever potion,” she states. “you’ll probably be in pain for a while. but it should help advance the experiments i have planned for you.”
your vision blurs, lines clashing and dissipating into strange shapes. it burns. every nerve in your body felt like it was being singed with a hot iron, the potion burning and engraving itself into the very fiber of your being.
there’s a sharp pain against your leg, and you look up to see red pooling against the scratchy fabric of your pants, soaking into its off-white color. elizabeth has leaned down, a scalpel twirling in her hand as she observes the wound she just inflicted. with a swipe of her hand, she stabs into your other leg, sending another sharp wave of pain through your nerves.
it’s too much. you feel every beat of your heart as it strains and thuds against your chest, the palpitations feeling much slower than you’re sure was normal.
“stop—stop!” you think you manage to scream, black spots dancing in your vision.
cool blue irises lock on your unfocused ones, the woman’s head tilting at your protests.
“no.”
your flesh tears, warm blood spilling down and leaving your body cold. all you hear is your blood rushing through your head in protest before you are once again enveloped in relieving darkness.

Fade into you pt.2
Boxer!sevika x topside!reader
Finally done part 2! (it literally took me a whole month) I kept losing motivation to write BUT I FINALLY FINISHED TODAY!! Hope y’all like it! (I don’t think I’ll continue this tbh) I feel like this kinda sucks ass can’t lie.
WC: 1167
The following day, you couldn't stop thinking about Sevika and the interaction you had with her. The way she got so close to you, the way she looked as she was sitting there and smoking her cigarette. Ugh, you needed to stop thinking of her seriously! Are you actually considering going back? She told you she had a fight next week and you were off next week.
"Just stop it!” You knew your parents would freak out if they ever found out you went to the undercity, let alone thinking about going back there, but why was the thought of not seeing Sevika making you feel so down? As the next week started approaching, you finally made your decision to go and see Sevika again; you couldn't shake her out of your head. The problem was, you didn't want to tell Sam about it, but you also didn't know your way around the undercity. God, this was going to be a mission.
You decide to wear something cute this time around—a long-sleeve low-cut shirt and a cute black skirt. For shoes, you went with black combat boots. You do your hair and makeup, grabbing your phone and bag ready to head out, when all of a sudden your mother walks in.
“Where do you think you're going, young lady?” She questioned you. Shit, what would you say?
"Um, im going to Sams, yeah. She's having a little girls night!” praying that she believed you, sometimes it blew your mind that as an adult your mother was still so stuck with you. You actually hated it, but you didn't say anything about it. Your mother nodded her head.
"Okay, be safe honey. Text me when you get home, okay?” she said as she hugged you and left you be. You sighed and went out. You kind of felt bad for lying to your mother, but it was whatever at this point. Stepping out of your house, you try your best to remember the way Sam took you, and you find yourself where she took you last time.
As you walk your way over to the fighting ring, you can't help but feel eyes all on you. ‘Of course they'd stare; you literally look like you're from the topside.’ you say to yourself. You get there and see Sevika already in the ring fighting her opponent. You manage to get yours close enough to see her.
The guy she is fighting is like 2x bigger than her, and yet she's so unfazed by it. He lands a hit on Sevika and knocks her back, but only for a second because she's right back and hits him back so hard he goes flying back. There's a small break that was called; Sevika looks into the crowd and manages to spot you. She thought you were so easily spottable; you see her and smile at her. You see the blood on her face, probably a bloody nose. She sends a wink your way, and you swear you passed out there. After the break, Sevika and the guy were at it again. He goes to hit him, but Sevika has him figured out this time and blocks his punch, and she knocks him to the ground; he stays there, probably passed out.
Sevika is declared winner once again, and everyone goes crazy like last week. Sevika motions to the back, where the little room is. You make your way through the busy crowd and step into the room.
“You came, doll.” Her voice boomed; god, her voice was like fucking music to your ears. Why is she making you feel this way? You could listen to her voice all day.
"Yeah, I did come back; I don’t really know why.” Suddenly, your shoes became the most interesting thing in the world. A part of you wanted to get to know Sevika, possibly befriend her, maybe something more. But knowing that Sevika was from the undercity and a boxer, you knew it could never happen. Feeling a warm hand grab your chin gently and lift it up broke you out of your little trance. You are met with Sevika's eyes; god, you could get lost in those eyes of hers. She leans in a bit closer.
"Oh, you know why, doll, don't play stupid with me. You wanted to come see me; that's why you're here.” You hated how right she was. She pulled away from you and backed away.
“Lets celebrate my win doll." She opened the door for you, and you walked out. The bar was crowded, and so was the dance floor; you felt a bit nervous about this not really being your scene. She grabbed your hand and dragged you to a table where a couple other guys were seated. She pulled you to that table sitting down; you sat beside her.
Everyone looked a bit intimidating to you. Someone approaches the table and hands Sevika a drink; of course they would know what she liked. She fights here and celebrates here. Sevika chugs down her drink before looking at you.
“So what do you usually drink? Something fancy?” The truth was you never really drank; when you did drink, it was just a small bit of wine or a little champagne. You didn't even know if you should drink anything tonight; I mean, how would you even go home?
"Oh, I usually have a bit of wine, but I don't think I'll drink tonight.” You explain to her; she lets out a small chuckle. God, she was perfect. No! You can't be thinking of her like that. Her voice brought you out of your thoughts.
“I figured as much; I don't think you'd find the best kind around here.” Sevika says as she starts on her second drink of the night. Hours go by and you have amazing conversations with Sevika; she tells you all about the undercity, and you tell her about Piltover. You knew that conditions down in the undercity were not great at all, and she was so passionate talking about her place here. You admired that about her. Hours pass, and before you know it, the time is 2330 and you have to leave. Sevika offers to take you at least halfway.
Staying close to Sevika, you two begin the journey back. As you get closer and closer to where you need to go, Sevika asks you a question. “Would you want to come down again next week? "Uh, don’t have a fight, so we can maybe just spend the day together.”
You put a hand on her bicep, smiling up at her, “Of course, Sevika. I’ll see you here again next week.” She pulls her phone out and gives it to you, typing in your number and saving it into her phone. You reach up and give Sevika a kiss on her cheek. “See you sev!" With that, you run off.
Sevika makes it her goal to get with you no matter what.

"We're gonna get out of here, I promise"
pairing : mike munroe x (fem) reader
cw : mike has a gun, talk of death, and blood, and maybe like one swear I don't know. reader is referred to as mike’s girlfriend, but other than that i don’t believe any female pronouns are used.
a/n : i know this is kind of late since the until dawn remake has been out for a while but i kept procrastinating this after I started it. anyways #needthat.
The wind pulls at you from every angle, hair clinging to your sweaty, frostbitten cheeks. Adrenaline kept your body moving through the never-ending maze of trees and snow; you didn’t think it would last much longer. You were sure if you continued in this direction, eventually, you would reach the sanatorium.
It was marked on the map in the cable car station, the same map you had seen before you made your way up to the lodge with Sam and Chris. That was hours ago, and you wish you could go back and warn yourself to go back down the mountain. Or even better, ignore Josh’s email altogether and stay home. Play sick. You’d say anything not to be where you are, right now.
But that’s not possible, is it?
Your clothes are sticky with blood. Not your own, you think. You hope. This night was not turning out the way you had expected it to. And the choices you had made leading up to this point were beginning to make your stomach turn the longer you thought about them.
Why did you leave the lodge? You could’ve stayed on the kitchen floor after that psycho knocked you out; you could’ve pretended not to hear Chris’s attempts to wake you up. You could’ve looked for a phone instead of rushing into the snow to find Ashley. Speaking of them, why had you left Chris and Ashley? You could’ve returned to the lodge with them to find Sam after witnessing your friend be sawed in half, but no. You needed to know that Mike was okay considering you hadn’t seen him since you both arrived.
Why did you start that argument with Mike before the two of you had left for the lodge?
“C’mon, don’t be like that.”
“Like what?”
“You're getting jealous over nothing. We’ve talked about this, there is nothing between me and Em. I’m with you. I’m in love with you. Why does this keep being brought up?”
“Maybe because she texts your phone like you're still close? ‘Text when you and the new gf get here, can’t wait to see you, winky face’,” you push his phone towards him. “She knows who I am, why does she feel the need to refer to me as the ‘new girlfriend’ as if we’ve never met? And why is she sending you winky faces? Why exactly is Em so excited to see you, Mike?” You make a point of emphasizing her nickname which seems to flow off his tongue so easily.
“You’re looking into this way too much. This is crazy, I mean come on, that’s how she texts everyone, baby.” He gently takes his phone from you, throwing it onto the bed and reaching back for your hand which hovers in the air. You let him, but you make no effort to hold his hand back, fingers only resting in his hold. A soft sigh leaves your lips.
“Yeah well, I’m not loving that she texts you that way and I’m also not loving the fact that you’ve said nothing to her about how weird it is. You have no problem defending her when you talk to me, so why can’t you say something to her about how I feel?”
“If I said something it would just cause a fight between me and her, or you and her, and the last thing that anyone needs up there, especially Josh, is for all of us to be fighting. Can you pretend to like her, only for the weekend, and then you never have to again.”
“You say that every time she’s involved, ‘just pretend to like her for tonight, and then you never have to ever again.’ But I will, because for some reason she is always around. I figured when Matt and she started dating we would see her less but I guess I was wrong.”
“Please, let’s just go and get it over with. We’re doing this for Josh, remember?”
“I don’t know, Michael, something about spending an entire weekend with your ex-girlfriend isn’t really appealing to me anymore. Call me crazy.” His eyebrows soften as you use his full name, especially in that tone. He is enjoying this conversation less than you are.
“Don’t be this way, we’re already packed and ready to go. Just come downstairs and get in the truck. She won’t bother us, baby, I promise. Come on..” He attempts to pull you, gently bringing your hand closer to him. But your fingers slip from his hand, dropping to your side. From the bed, his phone buzzes, the screen lights up, and you don’t have to look to know who’s messaging him.
“Sam told me she's taking the bus up there, I think,” you look back to him, “I’ll just head up with her so she doesn't have to go alone.”
“But then I have to go alone. And the bus leaves in like an hour, that's barely enough time to get ready and get to the stop. You're being ridiculous, just come with me. And if you want to, we can talk about this on the way up.”
You look away from him, missing the way his face falls as you turn your back to him. “I’ll see you up there, Mike.”
If you had just let it go, believed him, and gone with him instead of taking the bus with Sam, you would’ve never been angry with each other at the lodge. Or rather, you wouldn’t have been so furious with him because you would’ve talked things out in the truck, kissed, and made up instead of stewing in your thoughts on the bus. You wouldn’t be worrying about whether or not he was alive right now. But you were stubborn and foolish, and now you are trudging through the snow, improperly dressed, and praying the person you love is still breathing on this stupid mountain.
You cross your arms over your chest, preserving what little warmth you have left, and with every step you lose another piece of hope. All you can think of is him. And how, if he is dead, he would’ve died thinking that you were mad at him. You weren’t even angry, annoyed for sure but not angry, you were just being stubborn and taking your frustration out on him. Now you might never get to apologize. The thought makes your stomach churn and your steps falter as a wave of nausea overtakes you.
But, finally, in the distance you see the outline of a large building surrounded by a brick fence that appears to be falling apart. You allow yourself to be comforted, just for a moment, by the sanatorium's existence. The nausea in your stomach ceases as your steps quicken, arms uncrossing to move through the air. You reach the gate, blocked by the large pile of snow blocking both sides, not that you think you could’ve pushed it open in your current state; blocked from snow or not.
You let your hand trace across the gate's bars as you walk towards the side of the fence. The pads of your fingers sting from the cold metal but you keep them where they are. As you move, they follow, moving from metal to brick. The only way into the sanatorium courtyard, you realize, is to climb over the stone fencing.
A tired sigh leaves your body. You place your hands on the wall, palms stinging from the snow-covered surface. You lift your body, throwing your leg over simultaneously, climbing on top to straddle the snowy stone. The action uses more energy than you realistically have left so instead of gracefully landing on the other side of the wall you fall, directly onto your back. At least the pile of snow beneath you cushions your fall a tiny bit, but it still takes you a few minutes to recover your breath.
Using the wall, you find your footing again. The snow falls from your clothes as you stumble towards the sanatorium. You don’t even know what you were expecting to discover here. You figured there might be people here. Maybe a construction crew, getting ready to tear the old building down. A custodian, forced to stay and take care of an abandoned building. Or on the slimmer side of chance, a large group of stable nurses and doctors that would offer you and your friends shelter and much-needed medical attention. However, the closer you get, the more you realize how fucked you are. Nobody is out here. And it was stupid to believe there would be.
But you’ve come this far, and the chill that runs through your body borders on hypothermic potential. You reach the front doors, using your body to push the door open, shoulder first. It opens far easier than expected, and you fall to your hands and knees as it flies inwards. “Fuck.. me.”
You don’t move from the floor, the opposite actually, you get closer to it, falling onto your back. You don’t even want to get up. No one is here. All your friends are probably dead back down by the lodge. What’s the point? At least this way you’ll have time to think over every choice that led you here, it’ll take a while for the cold to kill you since your feet are the only part of you still lying outside the building. From farther within the entry hall you hear a door open, the sound of steps echoing through the empty building. And though your heart rate picks up speed, you don’t move. Instead, you pray that whatever it is, will kill you quickly so you can be with your friends again. So you can be with Mike.
“Who’s there? Whoever it is, just know I am armed and I am not afraid to shoot you. I have had one hell of a night and I am so not in the mood for.. whatever it is that you want.” Even with your heartbeat drumming against your ear canals, you still pick up the voice. A man's voice. Almost recognizable. You let your eyes close, murmuring the only thing you can think of like a mantra. Mike. Mike. Mike. Mike.
“Holy shit. Y/n?” Mike? You turn your neck enough to see the man approaching. A sudden second surge of energy fills you, and you lift yourself into a sitting position to fully face the figure walking towards you.
“M..mike?”
“Holy- Oh my god, how are you- Are you okay?” He falls to his knees in front of you, dropping the gun and the lantern in his hands on the floor. His hands hover around you, scared to touch you. You notice that two of the fingers on his left hand are missing, replaced by a bandage soaked in blood. Your hands are the first to make contact, landing on both sides of his dirty face.
“Are you real?” He nods, pulling you into a too-tight embrace. A stark contrast to his previous concern and reluctance to touch you.
“Yes. Yes, I’m real. I’m so glad to see you. You’re alive.. holy shit I can’t believe you’re alive.”
“You look terrible” You wipe away some dirt from his face. Eyes wide as you try to convince yourself that he is actually in front of you. You had convinced yourself that he was dead, and now to see him in front of you alive and well - okay maybe not well but he’s not dead - it has your brain moving a mile a minute. There is so much you have to say. So much you have to explain to him. How do you explain to someone that his friend was sawed in half on the anniversary of his sister's death? Or how do you explain that the rest of his friends might ALSO be dead? And without sounding insane, how do you explain that you truly believe something is up on the mountain with you and that it might’ve followed you the entire way to the sanatorium? You can’t.
“Well, I’m happy to see you too, baby.” He laughs breathily, unsteady. A laugh of disbelief. His way of coping has always been humor, even at the most inappropriate of times. Your features are probably the exact opposite of his uncertain smile. You pull him close again, practically pushing him to the ground, but his arms wrap around you and he straightens his back to keep the two of you upright. “Woah, I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here.”
You push your face into his shoulder, saturating the filthy, green jacket that he wears with tears. It stinks like cigar smoke, years of sweat buildup, and dirt.
“Mike- Oh Mike,” your voice is muffled in his skin, pausing in between sobs to catch your breath. His arm wraps tighter around your waist, the other arm reaching up so his hand can rest in your tangled hair. “I’m so- I am so so sorry Micheal. I thought you were dead, I thought- I thought you died thinking I was angry. I’m so sorry, I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. It’s okay. Don’t apologize. I’m just- I’m so glad you’re alive.” He kisses your temple, and as you raise your red face to look him in the eyes, he moves your hair out of your face. “We’re gonna get out of here, okay? Can you walk? God, you must be freezing. Did you come all the way from the lodge like this? Fuck, y/n, how are you even alive.” You shake your head, a silent confirmation that you don’t know how you’re alive either.
He helps you to your feet, taking off the unfamiliar jacket and helping you into it. He then retrieves the lantern and the gun from the floor, “Here, can you hold this up?” You nod, and take the lantern from his hand. In the hand opposite of you, he holds the gun, and with the other, he intertwines his fingers with yours. “We're gonna get out of here. I am going to get you out of here, I promise.” He’s so certain, and your fear almost dissipates completely as he leads you farther into the sanatorium with a tight grip on your hand.

His wife casually brought up going through his phone (to him) in front of me. I had a feeling he'd either show her the text I sent him or she'd see it anyways, but that seemed like it was aimed at me...

Man, today was absolutely mental. I don’t think I’ve ever come so close to losing it with a customer
#‘which customer’ you ask. well first there was rude ice cream man#he came in… i want to say before noon? i think it was before we became absolutely inundated#and he was MAD rude for what#he was buying like 4 ice creams so he def had kids with him and was a frustrated father or uncle or grandpa or hired babysitter or whatever#but DUUUUUUDE. there’s no need to give me the blank ☹️ face and ignore all of my questions and exchange zero pleasantries#then there was the lady whose phone died and she couldn’t pay and she was so nice but why. why#like of course i can’t just let you have this stuff. it could be theft. my manager put her stuff in a fridge and then she came back for it#later and i had to go find it and it was so much#she was so nice though i hope she’s well#THEN there was the motherfucker who was buying… i can’t remember what but his total was £5.35#and i remember this because he was trying to insist on paying for it with exactly three (3) £1 (£1) coins. like sir. that doesn’t work.#that’s not enough. i Could Not get it through his head that i couldn’t take cash unless he gave me at least £2.35 more#eventually i managed to get a contactless card payment out of him and he grumbled about how he was going to have to carry these three pound#coins around with him (ohhhh my god what a hardship 🙄) and about how money was leaving his bank account#like idk how to tell you this but we serve overpriced food here sir. if £5.35 leaving your bank account is a big problem for you you picked#the wrong place to come. also like. you could’ve just. spent only £3 lmao. you had two items#the retail section def sells stuff that’s £3… you didn’t have to do this. like at all. and i’d be happier if you hadn’t#THEN my coworker decided to let two fucking customers in after we closed and they both wanted machine coffees and they took SO long#the one guy had admittedly been queuing just before we closed but the woman just rocked up solidly five minutes too late and was like ‘i’ve#come so far :( it’s been such a long journey :( i just need any coffee :(‘#i REALLY wanted to say ‘fuck your journey and fuck your coffee. plan better’ but instead i had to make an americano#i don’t think i even tried to hide how mad i was#like hiiiii i know you don’t care but this is my life. this is taking time away from me being able to clean down for the closing shift#which is going to take time out of my life because i’m only paid until five#i know you don’t care that i’ll have to do unpaid work but like. here’s your fucking coffee. lol#there was also this other guy and i can’t remember what he did or said but i remember i was passive-aggressively sugary sweet with him#because it was the only way i could let my annoyance out. i love being sarcastically nice in this job because they can’t call you on it#or they look crazy#in summary i had a fucking day. thanks for asking#personal
