Imagine, Indigo Park inspired Hermitcraft AU. Except it’s Scarland. And instead of evil mascots Queen Jellie somehow came to life because Watcher magic or whatever, and Scar is trying to keep a giant panda-sized cat with slightly heightened intelligence (but still very much cat-like behavior) hidden from the visitors of the park, but most importantly, away from Doc’s sight. This almost impossible task is made slightly more difficult when, out of nowhere, mini-Jellies start gaining sentience and being a menace in the park. Chaos ensues as Scar and normal Jellie attempt to stop all the other Jellies from turning the park upside down and find out what has been happening that made them alive while trying to keep Scarland running as normal and giving the guests the best experience, after all, it is the happiest place in Hermitcraft, right?

hanwenzhou thought of the day: i was thinking again today about the concept of a jianghu coffee shop au, which is to say, someone(s) run an inn, and i DO think post retirement wenzhou running an inn is a hilarious idea. can you IMAGINE . the most unsettling man in the world tries to be cheerful and have good customer service and he DOES make good food, but also there's a lingering sense that he might murder you. meanwhile, the guy who seems utterly nondescript in the corner has the WORST customer service ever but he's still somehow the guy you're supposed to talk to if the other guy is busy cooking? he's constantly drinking on the job?

and then. hy shows up. don't worry about the plot and how this happens, its not important. whats important is imagining that you have to come back to this WEIRD AS HELL inn bc it's the only option for like a whole days travel and you are NOT looking forward to it, because last time, in addition to the usual 'some people got into a fight and you couldn't finish your meal because an armed fighter crashed into your table in the middle of it' nonsense that's obviously common to all jianghu-frequented inns, the proprietors just??? fucked off for like the whole time ???? probably literally, based on how they looked when they came back??? and then just threw everyone out??? and so you are DREADING IT.

but then you get there. it's cleaner. there seems to be at least two actual employees who aren't Those Guys. in fact one of Those Guys is nowhere to be seen, he seems to have been replaced by someone who is much handsomer and more memorable, although still drinking on the job and looking like he doesn't want to be there. but he's NOT the one failing to do customer service, there's this new guy here who seems perfectly nice and polite and actually tells you information about the inn and what they have that night and if they have any rooms available. and he seems like he can handle himself in a fight, sure, but he doesn't seem like maybe he's mentally flaying you out of curiosity as you talk. and the food is still good, but it DOESNT get interrupted because someone actually BREAKS UP THE FIGHT. you are baffled, but pleasantly, and you do the mental equivalent of leaving a new review where you increase the rating from 2.5 stars to 5.

Like, no, you guys don't get it. Romance is not about the Amount of devotion, it's about the COLOR. the FLAVOR of it all. a character can be just as devoted to their platonic friend as they are to their romantic partner, and they don't love either of them more, just differently.

But because the majority of people still have it stuck in their minds that romance exists on the highest tier of love, I'm stuck seeing endless takes that boil down to "these two care about each other too much for it to NOT be romantic" as if that's the core determining factor to how literally any of this works

In conclusion: stop telling me that I don't understand the story if I don't interpret the leads as romantic, I am TIRED

Imagine Annabeth and Percy have a kid early, unplanned and it kinda fucks with their finances so Percy drops out of school to get a job so he can care for the kid and support Annabeth in school. At first he gets a job teaching kids sword fighting but then he hears about underwater welding which pays well because it’s dangerous but Percy is a child of the sea so it’s much less so for him. His boss is even willing to give him flexible hours which means Annabeth doesn’t have to take their kid to class anymore and they can actually afford daycare (why does is it the price of a mortgage nowadays???). A huge financial burden is lifted and Percy doesn’t mind the work so it’s good all the way around.

Fast forward to when Annabeth is done her masters in architecture and lands a job at a top firm. They’ve got savings and have Annabeth’s income to rely on. Percy heads back to school and finishes a degree in marine biology, going on to research some really niche topics like how underwater welding impacts the environment and shifting from there until he’s a well known expert in the field.

Just them finding their way. Supporting each other and landing on their feet no matter what
