So many of my fandoms are like, classic books or TV shows off the air or musicals, that I haven't had to handle fan theories much in recent years until jumping into Star Wars fandom, and now with Previously Last Seen Dead Ventress appearing in the TBB trailer people are reading Dark Disciple and I SHOULD be happy since that book made me cry my eyes out (I have a couple crits of the book, and by a couple I mostly just mean the Mace characterization was off, but loved it so much overall) and it's like The Quinlan canon book (and to me, a QuinObi book in large part in addition to Quintress like it was what made me read the older comics (which I loved) and really fall into shipping them after the OWK mention + TCW where my interest was piqued) and now everyone is picking up Dark Disciple and slinging fan theories and I'm like yesss read the book! But also ahhhh now I will see theories of all kinds about My Guy Quinlan and be nervous about What Will Occur while also not even knowing if he'll actually appear in the show.
#The thing is#I already have to see Quin characterization that I don't enjoy pretty frequently and I'm just like#Afraid#I want more people to love Quinlan he deserves it#I'm just uh nervous#I also guess I'm tired of SW bringing back characters who are definitely dead#I'm not a Maul returns supporter really like he got cut in half? Hot take I know#And I felt Ventress' death was impactful!!! Though I know people have feelings about it and that's super fair#But I hope this will just end with Quinlan getting more fans and maybe also appearing in TBB like let me see The Boy#Star Wars tag#KCrabb rambles

KENOBI SPOILERS
I loooooved when Reva tried to interrogate Leia but Leia outsmarted her. She got so damn frustrated at a 10 yo it made me laugh. And when she thought she got her Leia piled out the “but I need to tell my father first” and Reva almost lost it. Tala is in my top 10 fav characters now. The way she talked down to that security guard made me love her even more. She made him back off and it looked like something straight out of a fanfic (actually I was reading that kind of fanfic earlier today). When Obi Wan got to the secure sector I was so scared that we were gonna find out that actually Quinlan is dead and not alive like they made us believe. Would that be cruel to us fans, sure. Would the directors do it, probably. And when Obi paused looking shocked at the last body I was like, that’s it, it’s Quinlan, he is dead. But it was just a child. And I felt such relief at that moment you have no idea. I really hope we get to see Quinlan alive and well and that he and Obi get to meet one last time. And also I need more Luke content. It’s just two episodes till it’s over (I’m hoping for a second season). And Luke was in the show for what? 4 minutes? Why would they even announce a cast for that? Just pick a random child of a street, ask it if it wants to make some money and there you go. Child Luke. I need Luke to talk and hug Obi wan like Leia got to hug him. And Leia holding Obi wand hand in the end made me emotional.
I’m sorry if it’s chaotic to read
Oh I adored all scenes with Reva and Leia. I loved when she said 'is this a staring contest?' YOU GO QUEEN
Tala is amazing! One of my favs for sure! She was so badass and I just love this actress in general so I am happy to see that her character is amazing as well.
Honestly I was thinking the same, that Quinlan will be there for one second but he is still alive <3 I hope so haha. Fingers crossed for him to maybe appear in JFO sequel or maybe still in last two episodes.
I don't mind that there is no Luke to be honest. I needed Obi-Wan and Leia bonding and I am so glad this series provided it. Her message to Obi-Wan in episode IV makes more sense.
And yes I agree I totally teared up when she squeezed his hand. Also the beginning section with Obi-Wan and Anakin parallels aaaaa so good.
In general I love this series. It's so different from other projects and I am glad honestly.

Things to make Attack of the Clones possibly a better movie
Stuff about Anakin
Anakin would take after Matt Lanter’s portrayal in the Clone Wars in terms of charm and personality, though not that Hayden Christensen doesn’t do a good job. Here me out; when not speaking that terrible dialogue, Haydensen brings the right amount of sensitivity, physicality, and frustration in Anakin’s evolving maturity.
I’d like to think Anakin would be like a romantic-era poet in the body of a jedi (like a samurai John Keats?). After all, I can see some of Lucas’s intent with him spouting off that half-baked prose in the movies. When he’s Darth Vader, he does a better job with wordplay and Shakespearean themes. Anakin more likely resembles a Byronic hero, “Historian and critic Lord Macaulay described the character as ‘a man proud, moody, cynical, with defiance on his brow, and misery in his heart, a scorner of his kind, implacable in revenge, yet capable of deep and strong affection’”
In wooing Padme, Anakin has secretly been an avid scholar of galactic literature (reading stuff the Jedi order would frown upon) in hopes to try and meet her on her level and mature. He’s a fan of space fantasy novels (in the likes of Edgar Rice Burrough’s John Carter of Mars, but for Star Wars), and is a hopeful romantic. He wishes to explore more that the galaxy has to offer and feels constrained by the rigidity of the Jedi order. He and Padme connect on that level of Byronic romance.
As I said in my previous post, the age gap between Anakin and Padme is considerably smaller. (only about 3 years; he’s 23 and she’s 26)
Anakin is much less predatory around Padme than in the original film. I’d more rather have it that they’re both into one another but tragic pining ensues because they find out how much they get along after they’ve been apart.
I don’t know how to solve the mass murder of the tusked raiders scene; I wish it wasn’t there and I wish his mom didn’t get fridge as hard as she did
If there had to be a more docile option, maybe Anakin arrived on Tatooine and learned his mom died years before and he didn’t know about it until just then. It’s too literal to have him holding his dead mother in his arms, and I would think it’s much more cold and painful to learn that your loved one died years ago and you were unaware of it.
His “early turn to the dark side” scene could involve him being more reckless and cutting down flesh and blood enemies during the arena scene, perhaps he kills Jango???
Stuff about Padme
Padme is much more proactive and #thatbitch when it comes to standing up against the rising imperial/fascist mentality within the senate, one of the reasons why some people might want her dead; make her AOC but in spaaaaaaaaaace
Darth Sidious wanted Padme killed for her opposition to the Military Creation Act which would allow the creation of an army to fight the Separatists for the Republic. Since Sidious was manipulating both the Separatists and the Republic, he put a bounty on Padme's head as Nute Gunray's grudge against her was powerful enough that he demanded her death as the condition for secession of the Trade Federation from the Republic
However, not only because of that, but also through her own investigative journalism, Padme discovers the Trade Federation’s shady business practices and ties to the growing separatist alliance and exposes this to the public, thus causing more of a demand for her death and exacerbation of tensions
She’s been having a hard time forming true relationships because of her position of power and being under public scrutiny all the time, thus after coming to respect and care for Anakin, resolves to minimize that scrutiny as much as possible
Stuff about Obi-wan
Jedi Mullet? I don’t think so. Make it more like this
(something a little less mullety, still luxurious, and he keeps the beard)
He’s not necessarily a paragon when it comes to no attachments, and he uses his attractiveness to his advantage and he knows it.
Anakin does serve as his foil, but when he’s on his own it would be nice if he had a companion as well to mirror Anakin and Padme’s journey together. Perhaps an introduction of Satine, thus developing their relationship early on? A different female foil? Or just a buddy from work like Quinlan Vos? Idk.
He’s still in the sort of learning curve when it comes to being a master, and there can be a few times Anakin can prove him wrong. Obi-wan comes to respect his initiative by the end of the film and not be so critical of him (I mean Anakin had just lost an arm and all)
His relationship with Padme is still amicable, but meets a point of tension when discussing Anakin’s behavior and development. Their points of view differ when it comes to how Jedi can express themselves and she critiques some of the more questionable morals and practices of the Jedi
Things about the plot
Officials within the Republic government knew about the clones (and so did some Jedi). Palpatine organized a committee (engineering the pointless war behind the shadows) and they ordered the clone army after the whole Naboo crisis ten years prior to the events of Attack of the clones. Everyone knew tensions were brewing between the potential Seperatists and the Republic and the Republic wanted to beat them to the punch.
Which Jedi in particular knew?
(Ooh! Ooh! What if some Jedi, even on the council, had already turned to the dark side and were working for Palpatine, and in the end by the time of Order 66 they help bring down the order, only to then be killed themselves by Palpatine and Vader (rule of 2)?)
The fight scene between Sidious and the jedi would have them turning against each other while Sidious finishes them off to show the ineptitude and corruption of the once pure Jedi order
Syfo Dyas was the Jedi ambassador to the senate and was convinced/manipulated to assist Palpatine; he helped order the clones and was ready to defend the republic, but when the full plot was revealed to him, he tried to make a run for it and tell the Jedi Order, only to end up assassinated. The order of the clone army a secret was kept until the Separatists fully declared war on the Republic.
Count Dooku also knew when he was still a jedi and on the council. However, he had secretly turned to the darkside and was working for Palpatine/Sidious as a spy until he ultimately left the order to become the leader of the separatists. He had prior knowledge that Palpatine had engineered the war (note: an addition to my Phantom menace post, Syfo Dyas and Dooku would make appearances in Episode 1 to establish a precedent to the plot of this movie).
@whatlomalikes @cinna-wanroll y’all like Star Wars, right?

serendipity
summary: in which obi-wan kenobi and anakin skywalker are strangers who can see into each others apartments
warnings: slight nudity, cringe
read on ao3 here
Obi-Wan didn’t know much about the boy that lived across from him, he didn’t know anything really, except that he was very young and very attractive and he tends to leave the blinds open and when Obi-Wan does the same he can see into the boy's apartment and he can see back. It unnerves Obi-Wan a bit, the amount of times the two have given awkward smiles in the mornings or he’s seen uncomfortable moments for the boy across from his window. Him with friends, fighting with strangers, anything in his life Obi-Wan had a view to if he wanted one, but of course he respected others privacy and wouldn’t. He’d move to another room, or close his own blinds, but he too tends to leave his blinds open which really unnerves him. He forgets sometimes that the young boy could easily see into his life, and he was unnerved by it because he wasn’t doing anything scandalous or too embarrassing. He saw himself as a boring old man, and while the boy was getting drunk with friends and blasting his music, Obi-Wan was sitting alone at his table grading students papers and dealing with whatever Quinlan was calling him about whilst he was intoxicated just like the twenty something year old across from him. He was almost forty and lusting after a young stranger and wishing he was more exciting so said stranger would find him interesting. He couldn’t believe himself, he was ridiculous, which is why he refused to acknowledge those feelings and stopped telling Quin about his cute neighbor. (He shouldn’t have told him in the first place, because now Quin won’t stop asking about him.) Even if Obi-Wan liked the stranger or wanted him in all the obscene ways Quinlan spoke about he was sure the boy never thought of him, and if he did it was just as that old man across who does nothing but read all day.
Thankfully a distraction arose as Obi-Wan got lost in his thoughts, and while he was thankful for the ringing phone he was not thankful that it was Quin. The man was his best friend, but he knew where Quin was trouble followed and a phone call would be filled with lewd words about whomever he spent the night with before or the girl he was so desperate to be with. Aalya he believed her name was, he himself had never met her, but he had heard enough from Quin to know her name and that she went to the school he taught at. Thankfully he didn’t have her in any of his classes, because he knew if he did Quin would insist on joining him to his classes or using Obi-Wan to spy on her and see if she was flirting with anyone else in class. Yet he answered the phone anyway, being the good friend he was and always would be.
“Hello, Quin, why is it you’re calling?” He asked, not having hope for much anything, and only going to be surprised if Quinlan was respectable for once.
“To invite you out with me, of course.” Quin spoke as if it were the most obvious thing in the entire galaxy. “We’re going clubbing, Aalya told me where she was going tonight and I swear she wants me to go too. That was her way of flirting, tonight might be the night Obi and I need my main man with me. I need my wingman, even if you’re a crap one.
Obi-Wan chuckled, questioning his friendship but never regretting it. The two had been friends since they were children, been through thick and thin together, so even though they were complete opposites and Obi-Wan wasn’t a fan of his ideas of fun he would still occasionally tag along for the sake of his best friend. “Will you ever give up on this girl, Quin? Anyway, I don’t know if I want to go out tonight, much less to a club. School just started and I need to get some things organized.”
“Bullshit!” Quinlan yelled through the phone. “Knowing you you had everything planned and organized the minute summer started. You can come out for one night with me, your very best friend, and support me as I try to get with the girl I will not be giving up on anytime soon.”
Obi-Wan knew he didn’t have to go, and stayed silent for a bit as he thought it over. There really was no reason to go, and he knew he’d eventually leave early once Quin got drunk and found someone to mess around with. The only appealing thing of the clubs Quin went to were the drinks and the fact that Quin was there, but besides that Obi-Wan preferred to stay away from the loud techno music and fresh faced twenty one year olds (who were probably his students) grinding all over each other. He always went in the end though, and this time wasn’t going to change that. “Fine, but only for a bit.”
He didn’t have to be there to know Quin was rejoicing, and he simply smiled at the fact that he got to see his childhood best friend who infuriated him so much that night. “Fuck yeah! Please try and have fun though, I don’t need you complaining to me the entire night.”
“I do not complain to you, I simply inform you I am not having a good time and that I am leaving. That, my dear friend, is not complaining.” Obi-Wan explained, pretending to be offended by his friends words.
“Well still, you’re a pissbaby whenever we go out, so please just get drunk and dance with me and have fun!” Quinlan tried to persuade him, hoping it would be one of those rare times Obi-Wan let loose and had fun. Those were few and far between but Quin always looked forward to them, whilst Obi-Wan dreaded the hangovers that came from them.
“We’ll see.” Obi-Wan simply stated, unsure himself what he would do. It had been quite some time since he let loose, and he could get it out of his system now so during work the rest of the year Quin won’t be harassing him and trying to convince him to join him to these clubs. Quin understood this was not Obi’s thing, but he also knew every once in awhile he had to make Obi-Wan come out.
“Good enough for me! I’ll text you the details, and I’ll see you there babe.” Quin said, hanging up before Obi-Wan could tell him not to call him babe or any other ridiculous pet name. He really should be used to it by now, but here he was shaking his head as he thought of his best friend.
Obi-Wan arrived at the club already finding it completely distasteful, not to mention he wasn’t dressed for the occasion. The club was filled with twenty somethings with barely any clothes on, whilst Obi-Wan was thirty eight and in a stuffy sweater and trousers. He could already imagine Quin’s face when he saw him, and soon he didn’t have to imagine it as he saw his best friend walk towards him.
“What the fuck is this? Trousers? You’re not at work Obi-Wan, why aren’t you wearing some sexy leather pants and a tight shirt?” Quin questioned, making Obi-Wan roll his eyes and take the drink he had ordered when he first arrived.
“I am no longer a twenty year old, Quinlan. Anyway, I can’t imagine that leather pants are all that comfortable.” He joked, giving his best friend a smile that showed he was in a good mood and was (hopefully) not be a total buzzkill to Quin.
“So? Neither am I and I’m still working it. Anyway, you totally have that sexy dilf vibe, I’m sure all your students love you.” He teased, making Obi-Wan cringe at the idea of his students thinking of him like that. Sure, there had been a few admirers, but he knew Quin meant more than just admiring.
“Stop, please, I’m too sober to deal with you.” He joked, and yet in the moment (as it was in most) it was entirely true.
“Then let’s get you drunk!” Quin exclaimed with great enthusiasm, telling the bartender to bring some drink Obi-Wan didn’t hear and soon was forcing him to down shot after shot after shot. Tonight Obi-Wan was walking on air, not even caring about the terrible techno music or the fact that Quin had left to dance with Aalya, but tomorrow Obi-Wan would regret it.
Anakin Skywalker didn’t mind at all the fact that he could see into the man across from his apartments kitchen, and he didn’t care that said man could look into his. Anakin found no reason to be embarrassed by it, he knew that would happen when he got the apartment and didn’t care if the mystery man could see whatever he was doing whenever his blinds were open. When they made eye contact he always gave a warm smile and got an uncomfortable one in return, and sometimes Anakin would just look over to see the man sitting at his table slumped over a large pile of papers. He was intrigued by the man, wanting to know who he was and what he did. Maybe it was because he seemed to always be in some type of routine and Anakin wanted to know if he had some secret adventurous life outside of his apartment, or maybe it was because the man was just so damned attractive and Anakin wanted him so badly. So what if he dressed like an old man and seemed to be much older than Anakin, he still couldn’t deny his attraction to the man and if he had to opportunity to meet or be with him for one night he would take it.
Of course he wouldn’t put himself out there and introduce himself, Anakin wasn’t going to be one of those people. He wasn’t going to walk over to the man's building with some crappy casserole and a fake smile and ‘be a good neighbor’. They weren’t even technically neighbors, and it would be creepy to do that. Padme always tells Anakin to stop being so scared and just introduce himself, and then let fate take its course. Anakin thinks Padme only says this because she doesn’t want to hear him talk about how ‘hot his neighbor is’ every time she stops by his apartment and can see said man across the way. Anakin didn’t know if he believed in fate or not, but if fate was real then shouldn’t it find some way to introduce them and not Anakin?
Anakin didn’t have time to think about his sexy neighbor though, for he was already late to work and knew some friends were coming over the next night and had to prepare. It was an average night, but their average nights consisted of them all getting shit faced and breaking whatever was near, so he had to hide anything breakable or important before a drunk Aayla got her hands on it and tried to play catch with Barris. He smiled at the thought, even though he always had to clean up the mess much to his dismay, he would never wish away the nights he had with his best friends. Even the hangovers were worth it, or at least that’s what Anakin always said when he wasn’t hung over. Though he didn’t completely mind, because it was always fun getting crap food with Ahsoka the next morning and using their hangover as an excuse to get multiple large fries from McDonald’s. She was always the one who slept over whenever they hung out at his place, Padme always had shit to do the next day, Aayla never wanted the night to end and would call one of her booty calls, and Barris would just throw up and go home. Anakin was thankful for their young age and how they could get away with this behavior, knowing the older he got the more his friends would mature and soon he’d be the only one still acting like a dumb teenager. That was something he hated about himself, all his friends had great career goals and were going to a great school while he just worked as a mechanic and didn’t care about responsibility. One day things would change and he would be the only one acting this way, and that day was what Anakin dreaded far too much.
He wouldn’t think of such terrible things now though, for he was still young and his friends (except Padme) were still immature, and he had no reason to worry about such things while his life was still great in his opinion. So he drank his coffee, admired the man across from him and smiled, and left for his job and awaited the fun that would come soon.

Season 4, Episode 10 - The Last Stand
Oh boy. Here we are. Can I tell you guys what a giant dork I am? I am such a giant dork that I watched the episode twice and took three pages of notes. Spoilers ahoy, btw.
So here we go, in no particular order:
Overall, I liked it. Except for the last few minutes but we’ll get to that. I liked seeing everyone together again, including the flashback. That was nice.
I feel like there were a lot of red herrings this past season. I don’t know if that was bad writing or intentional. Actually, it goes back before this season. The Lumen was supposed to be so important and yet it seems like it meant nothing in the end. Then there was the whole thing about cutting off the Master’s minions which also amounted to nothing. And then there was the bit where Setrakian gave Eph the recipe for the white. The reason I mention that is that because typically in television details like that aren’t given as throwaways. They usually mean something. But in this show it just seems like a lot of details didn’t end up meaning anything.
All that being said, it makes sense that Eph was the end game. It began with him and so it ended with him. Kind of ashamed of myself for not seeing that sooner.
The arc with Zach failed in my humble opinion. They made us hate him so much this past season that I did not give two shits that he died. I was more upset over the prospect of Fet dying. Like, actual tears when he agreed to sacrifice himself. But Zach? I felt nothing. And I don’t really understand why Zach changed at the end. I mean, they made him pretty devoid of redemption this whole season so why the sudden change of heart?
If the Master’s plan had worked how did he plan on leaving NYC? I’m just curious because I know the bridges are blown up and he can’t travel over running water, right? Or am I missing something?
I’m proud of my murder baby thinking of luring the Master to the tunnel but sort of disappointed in the humans for not thinking of it because honestly, it was my first thought.
I am NOT HAPPY about Quinlan’s death. Now granted, I’m biased, but it kind of felt like a fuck you? It was not an honorable end. I knew he couldn’t defeat the Master. I never expected that. But I just kind of feel like the whole Master stomping his face in was degrading and unnecessary. Why couldn’t he have at least died on his feet? Gotten a good warrior’s death? I can’t help but wonder if in that last moment he felt any doubt and wondered if they’d failed.
Fet is my fucking hero and as much as I love Dutch I take back what I said. Fet is my favorite human character on this show and Kevin Durand deserves an award.
I am glad Dutch lived. Like, yay, they let a girl live! I really wasn’t sure that would happen.
I’m confused about one line and I’m not sure if I just misheard it or what so maybe you guys can help me out? It’s when Eph says to Dutch: “How desperate you must be to think Fet wasn’t me.”
And now my epidemiology geekiness is going to come out. Smallpox is not an inherently hemorrhagic disease. Only a small percentage of cases presented that way. I know it’s a small point to get hung up on but it’s a subject I’m kind of mildly obsessed with. Also, not too smart to keep some strigs around. Wonder if they’re trying to keep options open for another show?
Oh, and someone tell me about that throat thumping thing the Master did??? Was that in the books? I’ve never seen anyone mention it but I thought it was really cool.
So back to the ending, it seemed silly to me that the Master hugged Zach thus giving him the opportunity to kill them both. Like, Zach just shot him. Did he forget that? It seemed sloppy to me. From a story telling perspective Zach pushing the button made sense. He pushed it once before to kill people and now he pushed it to save people. Im okay with that I just felt the execution of that scene could have been better.
Anyway, that’s that. There will be no more that we know of. I’ll miss this show, flaws and all. Though I know they won’t see this, my heartfelt thanks goes out to all the cast and crew for their hard work.
I hope our little fandom can go on for a bit longer. I know we’ll all move on eventually but it’s been a fun time overall.
So now, fellow fans, tell me. What did you think? Reblog/reply or DM with your thoughts. I’d love to hear them.
