If you have celiac or otherwise can't eat wheat, btw, and you like bread, I highly recommend investing in a breadmaker. Even the best store-bought gluten-free bread does not hold a candle to the stuff that comes out of our breadmaker, and it's cheaper per slice even when we buy bread mix in single-loaf bags.
This is our breadmaker. Evie got it on sale, but it is an investment. I'm not going to pretend it isn't a chunk of change up front. There are cheaper ones, but the reason I like this one and think it's worth the money:
It has two smaller paddles, where our older bread maker that my mom got us and got destroyed by getting construction dust in it had one big paddle in the middle. This leaves a big hole in the middle of the finished loaf, which makes the bread much less useful for, like, sandwiches.
Zojirushi is not as well-known a brand in the US, but it's a Brand Name in Japan for good reason. Evie's had our Zojirushi rice cooker for over a decade & we had to replace the inner bowl once bc someone used metal utensils in it and scratched the non-stick coating. We expect to use this machine for at least a decade.
You can program your own cycles, which we found really useful. Evie built a custom cycle that removed the punch-down sections (gluten-free bread tends not to rise as much) and that made our perfect loaf.
A lot of bread machines produce very tall, square loaves, which are awkward to slice, store, and make sandwiches with. This produces loaves that make good sandwiches and toast, and the French toast slices don't crowd the pan.
The top heating element on this gives a really amazingly browned top crust that we definitely didn't get on our old machine.
It's so pretty.
So how is it cheaper in the long run if the machine costs $300+? A little like this:
We use Pamela's Bread Mix bc it's really consistent and easy - you need the bread mix, water, yeast, 3 egg whites, and oil. (We use avocado oil and find it best and most consistent, but regular vegetable oil works!) We buy Pamela's in bulk, and without any subscription discounts or whatever, the $48 pack of 3 bags makes about 11.5 loaves. With the cost of yeast and eggs and stuff, it ends up costing about $4.50 a loaf. (If you buy your yeast in larger bags & store it in an airtight container, you can create less waste and it's also cheaper.)
By comparison, a loaf of Franz GF Bread costs $7-8, and Canyon Bakehouse usually runs about the same.
However, that's not an apples to apples comparison because the Franz loaf is an 18 oz. loaf, whereas our breadmaker makes a 2 lb. loaf. Assuming even the lower-end cost for getting a Franz loaf at the store, an equivalent amount of bread would cost $12.42, and it's not nearly as good.
(Yes, gluten-free bread is fucking expensive. That's part of why I'm writing this post in the first place.)
Anyway, assuming you eat 2 lbs. of bread a week in your house - a breadmaker loaf, basically, to make the math simple - you'll end up spending $7.92 less on bread every week. That means that even at the most expensive cost for the Zojirushi, if you buy it at its highest price (don't do that! wait for a sale!) it'll take 50 weeks - about a year - before the breadmaker pays for itself. If you manage to get it on a 25% off sale (which we did), it pays for itself in about 9 months.
Nine months, I must stress, in which you are eating much more delicious bread.
We tend to go through a couple of loaves a week because toast, sandwiches, and melts are great food for people with low spoons.
Evie and I perfected the Pamela's mix recipe for this particular machine - I'll get it typed up when I'm downstairs next, along with the quasi-babka recipe. (Really, it's like a marble cake and babka and bread had a baby, and it's a family favorite.)
Bread good. The end.

hetalia axis & allies (+ canada) xmas headcanons
1.6k words ~ gender neutral headcanons
tw: uhhh christmas obviously. mention of religion and underwear?? uh... i think that's it
a/n: this is my first christmas as a jewish convert so that's been weird. anyway I just wanted something quick, so its mostly a list of gift ideas (:
America
Alfred is SUCH a huge Christmas fan. I mean, canonically he dresses up as Santa, so he goes all out for the entire month of December. He's been working on a huge holiday home display for decades, and it shows.
He plays Santa at his local mall during the weeks leading up to Christmas; and on the night of, he hands out hot cocoa outside his house. It's fun, but it also means he's a little distracted when it comes to you.
What he would get you: Posters of your favourite movies, super comfy pyjamas, expensive figures of characters you like, candy you like but never get for yourself, model planes or Legos for you two to build together, novelty pens, a stupid cowboy costume so you can match <3, those handmade coupons because he 1. Loves you and 2. Forgot about Christmas until yesterday
What he would want: Any video games, Funko Pops, vinyls of music he likes, those big packs of shirts (he is constantly running out of shirts because he rips or irreparably stains them,) Marvel comics, anything with an eagle on it, those mini wacky waving inflatable tube men things, bulk pens and pencils because he also breaks those constantly-
England
Arthur is not big into Christmas and never has been. He'll celebrate with you, but he's not going out when it comes to any aspect. If anything, he finds it a little exhausting getting gifts for everyone
But, he does adore walking around and looking at all the lights. He'll do that a couple times with you in December.
What he would get you: Any novel you’ve mentioned even once, tickets to a concert both of you will enjoy, classy jackets that fit you perfectly, cute keychains, fancy art supplies, fragrances that remind him of you, bags/purses that fit your style, CDs
What he would want: Sewing supplies (thread, new needles, new fabric scissors,) framed photos of the two of you, Doctor Who merch, foreign tea, a book on how to take care of your eyebrows properly (he will not learn otherwise,) slippers, those sarcastic magnets that all millennial women have at least one of, any ridiculous piece of merch with the union jack on it
France
Francis has very mixed feelings about Christmas. On one hand, he hates how consumerist it has become, but on the other hand, nothing makes him happier than seeing the joy the season brings to others.
Plus, he does enjoy giving and receiving presents. The music too? Wonderful. As long as you don't get too stressed out, the holiday should be perfect.
What he would get you: Tons of clothes; stuff that's already your style, and completely new stuff, room decorations (NOT posters,) a reservation at a nice restaurant, bracelets that he made for you, makeup (if you like that kind of thing,) candles that smell like his cologne, CHEESE
What he would want: Fancy fabric, any clothes (he doesn’t care what they are as long as you think they’d look good on him…) paintings or photography, literally ANYTHING creative you’ve made, hair ties (he loses at least 5 a day,) bird stuffed animals, (Basically anything! Francis is not picky)
China
Christmas is a new occurrence for Yao, and he isn't the biggest fan. He'll buy you stuff for it, but he would do that normally. The lights and the music aren't anything special to him either. Basically, he won't celebrate unless you want to.
What he would get you: Elaborate, very expensive jewellery, huge stuff like a car, Chinese cookbooks, traditional clothes that he made specifically to represent you (: luxury handbags (that he got at SUCH a good discount,) tons of weird off-brand merch of your favourite show, probably a nice meal too!
What he would want: Yao is hard to buy for. Soft robes, stuff to help with back pain, face masks, Hello Kitty keychains… reading glasses maybe?
Russia
Although he isn't as excited about Christmas as he is about the New Year, he still loves the holiday. It's a nice excuse to see family, and everyone is just so happy around the season! He's especially excited to celebrate it with you.
He's not the best at giving gifts, but he could be worse. Regardless of whether you like all of it, you're gonna get a lot of stuff.
(Also, he plays Santa for the kids sometimes. It's so cute-)
What he would get you: Random knick-knacks he probably found at a local market, knitted hats and gloves in your favourite colour, a scarf to match his, tickets to go somewhere warm on vacation, stuffed animals! books that made him think of you (usually philosophical or religious novels,) pretty rocks (:
What he would want: SUNFLOWERS! (This works for every occasion,) baked goods, clothes that aren’t 250 years old- new doilies and paintings to decorate his house, pictures of yourself, friendship bracelets, stuffed animals, if you can make a scarf somehow, DO THAT
North Italy
Feliciano cares about Christmas in a more religious way, but he's never mad about getting presents. So, he'll probably spend most of the day in church, but he still did put a lot of effort into getting you stuff you love.
What he would get you: Pajamas & bath robes, shitty romance novels that he wants you to read, weird hand-made knick-knacks, makeup, strange mugs that he found at a thrift store, a painting of you (: probably a pair of his boxers-
What he would want: New paint brushes, novelty pasta shapes, fancy jackets, any art that you’ve made (regardless of quality,) cat stuffed animals, The Ability To Get A Grip, skincare products, shiny garbage (For art purposes, duh,) those handmade coupon things
Germany
Ludwig does not enjoy Christmas particularly. He's terrible at giving gifts but he wants to so desperately that he spends all of winter stressing out about it. Yes, he's excited to see your reaction to his gifts, but at what cost?!
Although he does still like all the decorations at least. Maybe he just likes re-decorating though.
What he would get you: Puzzles you can complete together, soft sweaters, practical stuff you need (like book bags, lens cloths, that kind of thing,) stationery, reservations for private tours at museums you would find interesting, a subscription to whatever silly service you want (:
What he would want: Books about city planning, nerdy card games, a fun lanyard, a new coffee machine, those aroma-therapy diffuser things, household tools like vacuums and stuff (Get him an air fryer. He’s going to be fascinated.) stress balls, pens (He is boring.)
Japan
Kiku really has no particular feelings towards Christmas. If you weren't there, the most he would do was put up a mini tree. He's stressed out by both giving and receiving presents and is only willing to do that kind of thing if you want to.
What he would get you: Electronics, merch of your favourite Sanrio character, books that he thinks you’ll like, stickers, a bento box, comfy sweatpants, cute hairpins, plushies from your favourite media, a bunch of pillows, some obscure Japanese snacks too!
What he would want: Miku figures, posters, video games, manga, general nerdy stuff, history novels (he likes to correct them,) blackout curtains, cute face masks, a Polaroid camera, a guide on socialization (Seriously.) a knit scarf, if you can knit (:
South Italy
Romano desperately wants to care about Jesus more than getting gifts. He's a devout catholic, g*ddamnit! But... he does just really love eating baked goods and getting gifts more than anything. Getting together with family, the music, the lights, he just ADORES the holiday.
What he would get you: Blankets and pillows, your favourite snacks, clothes that are a little more revealing- cruise tickets (if going on wouldn’t be hell for you,) a journal where he wrote down all of the things he loves about you (completely honestly,) religious items, fancy perfumes
What he would want: Paintings from local artists, post-its (so he can finally remember SOMETHING,) anything with the Italian flag on it, stupid bumper stickers, pictures of the other nations that you’ve written insults on, fancy patterned scarves and fabric
Prussia
Like Alfred, Gilbert loves Christmas in a very childish way. He embraces that side of himself during the holidays and he'd love it if you joined him in that. He constantly insists on going out to see the lights, and he just can't get enough of Christmas movies. Even the bad ones (He's a Hallmark girlie.)
What he would get you: A vintage music box, hair dye, DVDs of your favourite movies (just to have,) stationery, random snacks he picked up from a gas station an hour ago, weirdly sentimental jewellery? Vintage journals, pictures of himself
What he would want: Coupons (???) goofy temporary tattoos, metal CDs, tea (he’s weirdly embarrassed about liking tea and doesn’t buy it for himself?) vintage maps that he can frame and hang up, probably like, WD40? DC comics, novelty trophies, Pokemon cards, video games
Canada
More than anything, Matthew loves winter. So, therefore, he loves Christmas! Seeing you smile when you open your gifts, he looks forward to it all season. It seems like the only time of year when everyone else is either as miserable or as happy as he is, so it's his favourite holiday.
Cuddling up in front of the fireplace with hot cocoa, watching some old Christmas movie, its all he wants.
What he would get you: Comfy hoodies, comfy slippers too, hot cocoa packs, big stuff like a new PC or fridge or smth- decorations for your room, face masks, fidget toys, novelty Canadian keychains, figures of your favourite characters, festive sweets (like candy-canes and stuff.)
What he would want: Anything with a maple leaf (yes, he wants MORE of that,) boring stuff like socks, wood-working tools or like a new snow shovel, fairy lights, DVDs (because he still uses them? Why.) a new phone case, gift cards (HES BORING,) pre-packaged crafts, lotion and cologne that smells like pine
merry christmas if you celebrate! this'll probably be the last full thing I post until 2024, so thanks to all you readers for sticking around this year (: you have no idea how much it means to me. i love yall. and to all a good night or whatever santa said

Hi do you have any recs from where to buy affordable tools, like essential oils , crystals and other necessary stuff (for witchcraft ofc)
Ah, cheapery. My third favorite hobby, beside spending money on things.
Firstly:
Essential oils are NOT necessary for witchcraft. They are medicine, have the potential to damage you severely (both immediately and in long-term damage), and are NOT better and more effective than just using the herbs they are manufactured from. You shouldn't be thinking about essential oils or considering them for your toolkit without herbalism education from a reputable school or licensed herbalist and paper research about each herb you use under your belt.
Moving on.
No physical item in witchcraft is essential. You could go into your kitchen cabinet and begin bespelling your home without paying anything. People like owning things, because sparklies are fun and we're all magpies at heart, but neither crystals nor tools are necessary to the craft- and some argue that they're not even backed by research into historic traditions and what ancient practitioners might have used. A lot of the tools people think are "essential" are specific to Wicca or introduced via the new age movement, which was only...what, 70 years ago now? There are certain paths which require certain tools, and religions and folk religions that require certain things to function, but unless you are in one and getting instructions from your teacher/mentor/godparent, you're not required to buy anything. We're Anti-capital here. Money is the enemy and dirt is our friend.
So, that being said, a few recommendations:
The thrift shop. Want an athame? Bell? Candle stand? Spoon? Find a pretty silver thing and consecrate it. Nothing in life has to be new when it gets to you, as long as you cleanse it well.
Your local kids museum will have cheap crystals at discount prices. The natural history museum told me then genuinely sell them by weight. You can't guarantee their ethical background that way (a lot of cheap rocks are mined with enslaved labor), but you can get your rocks.
If you can get to a rock and crystal show, rarer and harder to find crystals go cheap in there, but you do have to pay a flat fee to enter so it's kind of a financial wash in the end. It's fun though. They sell empanadas at my closest one.
Your local supermarket. Unless you're using bulk herbs by the bucket, which seems wasteful, you can usually get herbs and pre-packed larger quantities of herbs from the spice section in your supermarket. And this way they're guaranteed to be food grade and safe to consume or bathe with, which is never a guarantee when you pick something up from the metaphysical shop.
eBay and other secondhand sites. People leave the craft all the time, and hawk their stuff for cheap. A little Dr. Bronner's, a little sacred perfume or incense, and she's good as new.
Indian and other Asian grocery stores. When I'm down and in some trouble, I know they have my back. Thank you for carrying incense on the shelf when I needed you the most. And having bulk rice.
Local swap. Networking is everything! Sometimes local covens will host events where people get together to sell off old things or swap stuff. Good times to find a pre-loved tarot deck or altar cloth.
Your hands! *grabby hand gesture* Some stuff you can make. I have an old sewing machine, and I love her to death; I make storage pockets and altar cloths with her. I crochet altar cloths. Some people make their own candles. I know someone who learned glass-making to make their own altar pieces. Some hobbies are more expensive than others, but a crochet hook is like $3 and yarn can be like $4. Bam. Altar mat.
Speaking of candles, I forgot to mention the dollar tree and other discount stores have cheap candles: some even have the tall glass pillars you need if you're in one of the ATR diasporic traditions.
Quite frankly, my best investment in witchcraft tools I ever made was watching my mother buy an antique silver serving spoon, which I occasionally filch from her drawer and return after it's done it's job. Borrowing things from your family costs nothing.
I'm sure this wasn't what you had in mind, but (and not to be a weird adult who has a poor relationship with the internet here), sometimes you have to go out there and physically touch things before you find what's right for you. Find a thrift store. A secondhand shop. A goodwill. Browse. What could you use this in? What spells can you piggyback off of this thing you found? What use does this have in your craft? Try not to build your craft off of your tools; build your toolkit to support what you want to do with your craft. That way you won't have wasted time and money on a fun thing people said was essential to have! ...but now you never use this selenite wand you spent $30 on because you found out wands don't have a place in your practice. Blech.
Best of luck hunting! 💜✨

Darlings,
I've been getting all my holiday offerings in place. Lately there's been a lot of chatter about pricing transparency across industries, beginning with the jewelry industry.
Factors that can vary:
1. Geography - if I'm on the Wast Coast shipping to California, my packages averaging 2-3 lbs, thus my shipping rates begin at $14.95 with a bulk pricing. Salaries, rent and insurance are higher in more populated areas as well.
It also costs more to have the wax I buy from a vendor that never offers free shipping. If I lived in the same state I could pick it up the same day & avoid shipping costs on that front.
2. Quality - There are many candle companies that have great packaging and use the least expensive quality wax and bulk pre-blended fragrances. To me scent is the most important part of the candle making elements and I didn't want to have candles that smelled like everyone else.
3. Expertise- what makes this company different? Is it a family owned business that also sells wholesale? A solo entrepreneur who studied fragrance? Is it a self taught fragrance lover? Is it a long standing French brand who made candles for royalty in the 1800's standing on history but perhaps only added scented options in the late 90's?
Scent is personal. There are some who go for status, no matter the scent, they want to display the accoutrements of wealth and image. It could also be purely down to label design that speaks to your soul like "Burning My Last F$ck," that never gets burned. All should be priced accordingly taking manufacturing, branding, sales, packaging, design, vendor relations and so much more into consideration.
Is the candle mass produced or hand-poured? The costs are different.
4. Budget- there will be white glove service for those who can pay it. For example, I recently checked the cost of the Blue Tick on Facebook. The basic with no support fee is under 12 per platform, ie Facebook & Instagram will run you a bit under $25/ per month.
The Top Tier is several hundred dollars which offers support and your posts will be shown to both followers and those who don't follow you.
A bootstrapper (self-funded) may have $50 a day for advertising, it will not have the impact of a funded corporation spending $1k+ daily. Thus the cost of customer acquisition will be higher for the small business who has to take more actions to find word-of-mouth.
It's been on my mind how little consumers realize that things like free shipping is not free for the business owner. It's a cost preventative model vs getting into retailers who take can take a commission in exchange for shelf space, pay a wholesale discount upfront (usually 50% less than the consumer), private label (They pay you to make it but use their branding.)
I've seen a lot of negative responses to this type of educational content. One final thought - it's no coincidence that Black Friday comes before Small Biz Saturday. Big business won this election. They have the budgets to buy in bulk, get tax and shipping breaks.
That's all I have for today. Be safe!
Wishing you good scents,
Coco #smallbusiness #candlebusiness

A Comprehensive Guide by AG Organica, Your Trusted Essential Oils Manufacturer, Supplier, and Exporter
When it comes to selecting the perfect essential oils for your needs, whether for personal use, wellness, aromatherapy, or business purposes, understanding the factors that influence quality and sourcing is key. AG Organica, a leading essential oils manufacturer, supplier, and exporter, is committed to providing high-quality essential oils to meet a wide range of demands. In this guide, we will walk you through the essential steps and considerations for choosing the best essential oils from a reliable essential oils bulk supplier, essential oils wholesale supplier, and essential oils exporter.
1. Understanding Essential Oils: What Are They and Why Do You Need Them?
Essential oils are natural, aromatic compounds extracted from plants. These oils are widely used in aromatherapy, skincare, massage therapy, and for various wellness benefits. They can support emotional, physical, and mental health, offering properties such as relaxation, mood enhancement, pain relief, and even immune system support.
Before diving into the purchasing process, it's essential to understand the specific use of the essential oils you're looking for. Are you seeking oils for personal health and wellness? Or are you a business owner in need of bulk quantities for products like cosmetics, candles, or diffusers?
2. Consider the Purpose of Your Essential Oils
Your specific needs will greatly influence which essential oils are right for you. Here's how to match oils to their intended purpose:
Aromatherapy: If you’re looking for essential oils for relaxation, stress relief, or sleep, popular options include Lavender, Chamomile, and Ylang Ylang.
Skincare: Essential oils like Tea Tree, Rosehip, or Frankincense have known benefits for skin rejuvenation, anti-aging, and acne treatment.
Massage and Pain Relief: Oils such as Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Ginger are excellent for reducing muscle tension, pain relief, and improving circulation.
Home Care: If you need essential oils for cleaning or freshening up your home, Citrus oils like Lemon or Orange and oils with antimicrobial properties like Tea Tree or Lavender work best.
3. Choosing the Right Supplier: Why AG Organica Stands Out
When choosing essential oils, the supplier you select is crucial. A reputable essential oils manufacturer, essential oils supplier, and essential oils exporter ensures you receive products that are pure, high-quality, and sustainably sourced.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Supplier:
Purity and Quality: Ensure that the essential oils are 100% pure, without any synthetic additives or fillers. AG Organica, as an essential oils manufacturer and wholesale supplier, offers oils that are carefully distilled and tested for purity.
Sustainability: Look for suppliers who prioritize eco-friendly practices in their sourcing, cultivation, and distillation processes.
Transparency: A trustworthy essential oils exporter should provide you with clear information about where and how the oils are sourced, as well as their testing methods.
Certifications: Seek suppliers with relevant certifications, such as organic certification or ISO standards, to ensure the oils meet specific quality requirements.
4. The Importance of Sourcing: Bulk vs. Wholesale vs. Export
Depending on your needs, you might want to buy essential oils in bulk, wholesale, or as an exporter. Let’s break down the differences:
Essential Oils Bulk Supplier: If you're a manufacturer or business owner, purchasing essential oils in bulk can save you money, especially if you need large quantities for production. Bulk suppliers can often provide significant discounts on large orders.
Essential Oils Wholesale Supplier: Wholesale suppliers typically sell essential oils at lower prices than retail outlets but in smaller quantities. This is a great option if you want to stock up on oils for retail, distribution, or even small business ventures.
Essential Oils Exporter: If you're sourcing oils internationally, working with a trusted essential oils exporter ensures you can get high-quality products from different parts of the world. AG Organica, as a global essential oils bulk exporter, offers reliable international shipping and can provide you with oils from various countries known for their unique plant varieties.
5. Quality Control: How to Verify the Quality of Essential Oils
When purchasing essential oils from any essential oils bulk exporter or wholesale exporter, it’s important to understand how to verify the quality of the oils you're buying:
GC-MS Testing: Look for suppliers that offer GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) testing to ensure the oils are free from contaminants and adulterants.
Sourcing Information: Reputable suppliers should provide detailed information about the origin of their oils, ensuring they come from reputable farms or organic sources.
Batch Numbers: Suppliers should be able to trace and provide batch numbers for each oil, giving you transparency into its production.
6. Evaluating the Price of Essential Oils
The cost of essential oils can vary depending on the type of oil, the extraction process, and the supplier. Generally, high-quality oils will be priced higher due to the labor-intensive process of extraction and distillation.
When working with an essential oils wholesale supplier or bulk exporter, be sure to compare prices, but don’t sacrifice quality for a lower price. Authentic essential oils, especially rare ones like Rose or Jasmine, will naturally cost more, but you can expect better therapeutic benefits and longer shelf life.
7. Essential Oil Storage and Shelf Life
Proper storage is essential to maintaining the integrity of your oils. Ensure your essential oils are stored in dark, cool places and kept away from direct sunlight and heat. The shelf life of essential oils can vary, but typically, they last anywhere from 1-5 years, depending on the oil type. Citrus oils tend to have a shorter shelf life, while woody oils like Cedarwood and Sandalwood can last much longer.
8. Building a Relationship with Your Supplier
Working with a reliable essential oils manufacturer like AG Organica can help foster a long-term relationship that benefits your business. As a trusted essential oils supplier and wholesale exporter, AG Organica is committed to providing personalized customer service, ensuring you get the exact oils you need, in the quantities you require, at the best possible price.

How Do You Choose the Right Wax and Wick for Wholesale Candle Supplies?
Creating a thriving candle-making business involves not only creativity but also finding quality supplies at reasonable prices. For candle makers in Florida, the availability of wholesale suppliers can help them maintain profitability while crafting beautiful products. If you’re exploring options for sourcing wax, wicks, fragrances, containers, or other essential supplies, here are several important factors and resources to consider when looking to buy candle supplies in bulk.
Essential Candle Supplies for Large-Scale Production
When planning to source candle-making supplies on a wholesale basis, it’s helpful to focus on the core components needed to create high-quality candles:
Wax: Wax is the primary component, and different types serve different purposes. Paraffin wax is widely used due to its affordability and versatility, while soy wax, beeswax, and palm wax are popular for their natural qualities. Each type has unique properties, like melting points and burning characteristics, that can affect the final product.
Wicks: The right wick type and size are essential for ensuring your candles burn evenly and safely. Wicks are often chosen based on the type of wax, container size, and desired burn time. Look for suppliers that offer wicks made from cotton, wood, or hemp.
Fragrances: Scent is one of the biggest appeals of candles, and sourcing fragrance oils that are both high-quality and safe is key. When choosing a wholesale fragrance supplier, inquire about the oil quality, and verify that they’re tested for safe burning.
Containers and Molds: Whether you prefer jars, tins, or molds for pillar candles, containers can add a personalized touch to your products. Glass and metal containers are popular options due to their durability and design flexibility, while molds allow for unique shapes and designs.
Dyes and Colorants: These give your candles a unique visual appeal. Pigments can vary significantly in quality and safety, so sourcing from reputable suppliers who specialize in candle dyes ensures the best results.
Additives: Some candles require additional components to improve their performance. For example, additives like stearic acid can help with scent retention and make candles burn longer, while UV stabilizers keep colored candles from fading over time.
Benefits of Buying Candle Supplies in Bulk
Wholesale candle supplies Florida has multiple advantages, especially if you’re aiming to expand or establish a candle-making business in Florida. Here’s why wholesale sourcing is a smart approach:
Cost Efficiency: Buying large quantities often reduces the per-unit price, making it cost-effective. This enables small businesses to stay competitive by offering quality products at an attractive price point.
Consistency: When you buy in bulk, you’re more likely to get consistent quality, which is essential for creating uniform products.
Customization Options: Wholesale suppliers often offer customization on items like containers and labels. This helps in building a brand that’s easily recognizable and distinct.
Reliability and Supply: Working with a wholesale supplier generally provides you with a steady supply, minimizing the risk of running out of stock during high-demand periods.
Where to Source Wholesale Candle-Making Supplies
Florida offers access to a variety of suppliers that cater to both small-scale artisans and larger businesses. Here’s a breakdown of common sources to help you find high-quality materials for bulk orders:
Specialized Candle Supply Shops: Florida has several local and regional shops that focus exclusively on candle-making supplies. These stores may offer discounted rates on bulk purchases and are often staffed by knowledgeable employees who can advise on the best products for specific candle types.
Craft and Hobby Retailers: Some major craft stores also offer wholesale services, especially for bulk orders. While prices may not be as low as from specialized wholesalers, these stores are a convenient option for sourcing supplies quickly. Some even offer loyalty programs or discounts for registered businesses.
Online Wholesale Suppliers: A significant number of candle makers choose to buy their supplies online, where they have access to larger inventories and often better prices. Online suppliers often carry a broad range of products, from basic ingredients to specialty items, making it easier to find exactly what you need.
Farmers and Beekeepers: For those who use beeswax, connecting with local beekeepers and farms in Florida can provide a unique wholesale opportunity. This can ensure a steady supply of natural beeswax and support local businesses.
Distributor Networks: Some distributors act as middlemen between manufacturers and retailers, offering lower prices on bulk materials. They can be an effective way to find quality products if you’re looking to diversify your supply sources.
Trade Shows and Expos: Attending trade events for the candle and craft industry can provide valuable insight into new suppliers and allow you to sample products. Many suppliers offer exclusive discounts to trade show attendees, making these events excellent for networking and sourcing supplies at lower costs.
Important Considerations for Wholesale Candle Supplies
When purchasing candle supplies in bulk, there are several things to keep in mind to ensure you’re getting the best quality and value:
Quality Standards: Always prioritize suppliers that meet quality and safety standards. Check for labels or certifications that guarantee the materials are safe for candle making, especially with fragrances and additives.
Minimum Order Requirements: Some wholesale suppliers have high minimum order requirements, so it’s essential to calculate your needs accurately. If you’re a smaller business, seek suppliers with flexible options.
Shipping and Delivery: The cost and time associated with shipping can impact your overall expenses. Try to choose suppliers that offer reliable and affordable delivery to Florida, as well as transparent policies on returns and replacements.
Eco-Friendly Options: With growing demand for environmentally friendly products, many suppliers offer sustainable options like biodegradable waxes, lead-free wicks, and natural dyes. These eco-conscious choices can help your brand appeal to environmentally aware customers.
Test Before Committing: Many wholesale suppliers offer sample packs or smaller quantities for purchase before committing to a large order. This allows you to test the product quality and ensure it aligns with your needs.
Marketing Tips for Candle Businesses in Florida
Once you have sourced quality supplies, building a successful candle business depends on effective marketing. Here are a few strategies to help your products stand out:
Highlight Local Appeal: Flaunt the fact that your products are made in Florida. This can appeal to customers who appreciate supporting local businesses.
Emphasize Quality and Craftsmanship: Whether you use natural waxes, custom fragrances, or unique container designs, showcase the quality of your ingredients and production methods. Photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes content can communicate these aspects to potential buyers.
Consider Seasonality and Themes: Florida has a unique climate and culture that can be an inspiration for themed candles. Summer fragrances, ocean-inspired designs, and tropical elements can cater to tourists and locals alike.
Target Online Marketplaces and Local Retailers: Selling both online and through local retailers, including boutique shops, farmers’ markets, and artisan fairs, can expand your reach and build brand recognition. Many local stores in Florida may be open to featuring locally crafted products.
Social Media and Content Marketing: Building a presence on platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and Etsy allows you to visually showcase your products and interact with potential customers. Sharing tips, tricks, and candle care tips can further engage your audience.
Florida’s vast supply chain for crafting products gives candle makers access to a range of wholesale suppliers. By carefully selecting quality materials like wax, wicks, fragrances, and containers, businesses can create a product line that stands out in a crowded market. The key is to focus on cost-effective sourcing, reliable suppliers, and quality control, ensuring each candle meets high standards. With thoughtful sourcing, efficient production, and targeted marketing, your candle business in Florida has the potential to flourish.

How to Choose the Perfect Return Gifts for Any Party Theme
Planning a party is always exciting, but it doesn’t end when the last guest leaves. One of the best ways to show appreciation for your attendees is through thoughtful return gifts. These little tokens can leave a lasting impression and make your celebration even more memorable. But how do you choose the perfect return gifts that align with your party theme? Whether it's a birthday bash, baby shower, or corporate event, selecting just the right item can be overwhelming. Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Let’s dive into some key factors to consider when picking out those special gifts and explore creative ideas tailored to various themes. Plus, we’ll share budget-friendly options so you can keep costs in check while still impressing your guests!
Factors to Consider When Choosing Return Gifts
Choosing the right return gifts for party requires careful thought. Start by considering your party theme. The gifts should complement the atmosphere you’ve created, enhancing the overall experience for your guests. Next, think about the age group of your attendees. Kids might appreciate fun toys or sweets, while adults may prefer practical items or gourmet treats. Tailoring gifts to their interests makes them more meaningful. Don’t forget about personalization! Customizing return gifts can add a special touch that shows you care. From monogrammed bags to personalized keychains, these small details create lasting memories. Consider practicality and usefulness. Gifts that serve a purpose are often appreciated and used long after the party ends. Striking a balance between creativity and functionality will ensure your guests leave with something truly valuable.
Return Gift Ideas for Different Party Themes
When planning a birthday bash for your little superhero, consider personalized capes or themed action figures. Kids love to take home a piece of their favorite character. For elegant soirées, think about scented candles or gourmet chocolates. These gifts add a touch of sophistication, leaving guests with delightful memories. Planning a fun-filled beach party? Go for colorful beach towels or customized flip-flops. They capture the essence of sun and sand perfectly. If it’s an artsy celebration, DIY craft kits can be both engaging and memorable. Guests will appreciate the creativity involved in making something unique. Hosting a vintage-themed gathering? Vintage-inspired coasters or small potted plants can transport guests back in time while being practical keepsakes. Each theme opens doors to endless possibilities; focus on what resonates most with your audience for truly special return gifts.
Budget-Friendly Return Gift Options
When planning a party, finding budget-friendly return gifts is a smart way to show appreciation without breaking the bank. There are plenty of options that are both thoughtful and wallet-friendly. Consider DIY crafts. Handmade items add a personal touch and can be tailored to fit any theme. You might create custom bookmarks for a book-themed party or decorate small jars filled with homemade treats for a food-centric gathering. Another great choice is eco-friendly products. Items like reusable bags, bamboo utensils, or seed packets promote sustainability while serving as practical gifts your guests will appreciate. If you’re short on time but still want something unique, look into bulk purchases from local artisans or online marketplaces. Many sellers offer discounts on larger quantities, allowing you to snag quality items at lower prices. Personalized stationery sets also make excellent return gifts without going over budget. They are useful for everyone and can easily reflect the theme of your event with some creative design choices. Consider experiences instead of physical gifts. A simple invitation to join an upcoming community event or workshop can leave lasting memories while keeping costs down. Selecting the right return gift doesn’t have to be expensive or stressful. With these ideas in mind, you'll likely find the perfect token of gratitude that resonates with your guests and aligns beautifully with your party's theme.

Onions, celery, herbs (like sage and thyme)

4. Cranberry Sauce
This sweet and tart side perfectly balances the savory flavors of the meal. Options include:
Canned Cranberry Sauce (for convenience)
Fresh Cranberries and Sugar (if you prefer homemade)

Stuffed mushrooms
6. Desserts: The Grand Finale
A Thanksgiving meal isn’t complete without desserts. Stock up on these classics:
Pumpkin Pie: A must-have with whipped cream
Pecan Pie: Rich and nutty

7. Beverages
Make sure you have plenty of drinks for your guests:
Wine: Red or white, depending on your menu
Sparkling water and juices
Mulled Wine or Cider: A festive addition
8. Tableware and Decor
Create a warm and festive atmosphere with the right decor. Don’t forget:
Tablecloths, Placemats, and Napkins
Candles and Centerpieces: Pumpkins, gourds, or floral arrangements
Serving Platters and Utensils: Make sure you have large serving spoons, gravy boats, and extra plates
Adding a Creative Twist
If you want to put a unique spin on your Thanksgiving celebration, consider adding some international flair to your menu. For example:
Maple-Glazed Turkey wrapped in bacon
Paella as a side dish for a Spanish touch
Albondigas (Spanish meatballs) and croquettes as appetizers
Thanksgiving Shopping Tips and Deals
Here are some tips to make your Thanksgiving shopping stress-free:
Plan Ahead: Create your shopping list early to avoid last-minute runs.

Discovering Agarwood Products: The Benefits of Choosing a Wholesale Supplier
Agarwood, also known as oud, is a highly sought-after resinous wood prized for its unique fragrance and therapeutic properties. The increasing popularity of agarwood products has led to a growing demand, prompting many businesses to seek reliable suppliers. For retailers and wholesalers, working with an agarwood products wholesale supplier offers numerous advantages, making it an essential part of the supply chain in this niche market.
What Is Agarwood?
Agarwood is formed in Aquilaria trees when they become infected with a specific mold. This infection triggers the tree to produce a dark, aromatic resin as a defence mechanism. The resulting wood is not only fragrant but also rich in cultural and historical significance, particularly in regions such as the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and India. It is used in various applications, including perfumes, incense, traditional medicines, and even luxury candles.
Why Choose a Wholesale Supplier?
Cost Efficiency
One of the primary reasons to work with an agarwood products wholesale supplier is cost efficiency. Wholesale prices typically offer significant discounts compared to retail, allowing businesses to maximize their profit margins. By purchasing in bulk, retailers can reduce their overall costs while providing high-quality products to their customers.
Diverse Product Range
A reputable wholesale supplier often offers a wide variety of agarwood products. This range can include raw agarwood chips, essential oils, incense sticks, and perfume oils. Having access to a diverse selection allows retailers to cater to various customer preferences and market trends, ultimately enhancing their product offerings.
Quality Assurance
Sourcing agarwood products from a wholesale supplier ensures a level of quality assurance that is often hard to guarantee with individual purchases. Established suppliers have stringent quality control processes in place, ensuring that the products meet industry standards. This reliability can help retailers build trust with their customers, fostering loyalty and repeat business.
Access to Authenticity
Authenticity is crucial in the agarwood market, as the demand for genuine products continues to rise. A reliable wholesale supplier specializes in sourcing high-quality, genuine agarwood from trusted sources. This not only enhances the credibility of the retailer but also reassures customers that they are purchasing authentic products.
Streamlined Supply Chain
Working with a wholesale supplier simplifies the supply chain process. Retailers can establish long-term relationships with their suppliers, allowing for better communication and logistics. This streamlined approach makes it easier to manage inventory, restock popular items, and adapt to changing market demands.
Building Relationships with Suppliers
To maximize the benefits of working with an agarwood products wholesale supplier, retailers should focus on building strong relationships. Open communication, understanding the supplier’s capabilities, and discussing future trends can help create a partnership that is beneficial for both parties. This collaboration can lead to exclusive offers, early access to new products, and better support in navigating market challenges.
Partnering with an agarwood products wholesale supplier presents numerous advantages for retailers looking to enter or expand in the agarwood market. From cost efficiency and diverse product offerings to quality assurance and authenticity, the benefits are clear. As consumer interest in agarwood continues to grow, aligning with a reliable agarwood products wholesale supplier will not only enhance a retailer’s product range but also contribute to their overall success in this fragrant and lucrative industry. Whether you’re a seasoned retailer or just starting, the right wholesale supplier can make all the difference in your business journey.

Happy Halloween
This week has been a really busy, multiple hat wearing week. Small business as a solo entrepreneur is a lot of time prioritizing and role prioritizing.
What made it different was two factors: 1. I had a TikTok that has over 85K views, which lead to a number of new sales from new clients.
2. #TheKaraGoldinShow episode I'm on went live on various platforms. You can listen to it on Apple Podcasts here: https://bit.ly/4hp77hy This was another touchpoint that feed the wheel that makes any brand continue to grow.
When you have a video that reaches an audience outside of your normal scope, "the general public" there will be always be negative comments. In the Tiktok video my point was that consumers hold a higher ethical standard for small businesses and are consistently critical without caring what the cost is or remembering that if it's not for you "don't yuck my yum." For instance, consumers will cancel their Prime subscriptions because Jeff Bezos, who founded Amazon, and has since retired so now he only profits from shareholding, also owns the Washington Post. This week he blocked WaPo from endorsing Kamala Harris because he has another company, Blue Origins he seeks favors for from the opposition should they win the election.
There are a lot of billionaires out there flexing this election season more overtly than ever. Comparatively, The Olsen Twins own a fashion brand named The Row since 2006. They are now leading quite private lives as opposed to when they were acting. That set of billionaires are not held accountable for their ethics. They have not endorsed either candidate, yet their sample sale had people lining up from 3 am for doors at 9 AM. People hired line sitters as well in order to drop amounts in the thousands : https://www.thecut.com/article/how-much-do-the-goods-at-the-rows-sample-sale-cost.html
I have clients who wear The Row, will spend thousands there and turn around and ask me for the same kind of 75% off discount. Comparatively Diptyque candles cost $75 for 6 oz, Loewe (which a client texted me my candles blow out of the water) cost $120 for 5.9 oz, while my 8 oz candles cost $65. In Australia a 2 oz Byredo candle costs $63 at Mecca (The clean beauty Sephora of Australia. Sephora there is terrible.) The Row can afford to cut 75% of their prices once or twice a year and still make a profit. If I did that I would be paying the clients to take my products and shipping them for free.
Big businesses get bulk discounts, have entire teams to secure coveted retails shelf space and might even own their own transportation systems (trucks & planes.) Their client service though, isn't the same that you will get with a smaller luxury brand.
Whiskey & Woof is intentionally niche. We’ve got $15 room sprays for a little taste of luxury and $65 candles for those who know that lighting a candle is about creating a vibe, a sanctuary. And sure, my products aren’t for everyone. I get that not everyone spends $65 on a candle, but people regularly spend thousands on things they value—whether it’s $1,600 on World Series tickets, $5,000 for clothes from The Row , or flying out to see Taylor Swift for a three-hour concert. Meanwhile, my candles, when burned as recommended, will last you 50 to 60 hours. And if you think those comparisons are a stretch, that’s exactly my point! It’s all about what each person values, and for some, investing in quality candles is right up there. Plus, for those just exploring, we have those $15 room sprays made with organic witch hazel that doubles as body spray!
Big brands can spend millions on ads to be everywhere you look. But for small businesses, it’s a one-person show. I’m not just the candle maker—I’m also running PR, fixing the website, handling customer service, packing orders, managing social media, and juggling tech updates. And with a name like Whiskey & Woof, my active ads get flagged, thinking I’m trying to sell alcohol. So while people think a social following equals sales, it’s actually a supportive community that matters.
We live in a busy world and there are some products that it's easier to order in bulk like diapers. That is fair. That extra energy to shop small might not be your lifestyle. My youngest client buying a $65 candle was sixteen a few months ago. He didn't hesitate.
I'm here to connect with people who do value layered scent stories on the same level as other, more well known luxury candles. I'm here to tell the stories and create, who love dogs and consider them family members, who celebrate life's moments with friends and want to relive them through scent.
Wishing you good smells,
Coco
