I know sjm has to do this for like clarity and simplicity, but it absolutely gets me as a ballet dancer every time ballet steps are described in crescent city with their technical names. Like why would the term fouetté turn— a french word meaning whipped (as ballet evolved in france under king louis xiv)— be the same in Lunathion??? Why would the words be the same? Why would the steps even be the same?? Why would ballet have evolved in a way exactly identical to our world in a universe where fantasy creatures are the norm and france is not real??? it’s just amazing and silly and camp and mind bending to my little dancer head every time.

♡ Announcing SJM Romance Week 2025! ♡

Hello everyone! Valentine’s Day 2025 is coming up, and that means it's time to celebrate any and all ships related to Sarah J. Maas' work. This will be a week-long event and we (@moodymelanist & @separatist-apologist) welcome any and all forms of celebration of the various types of love — fics, headcanons, playlists, art, moodboards, or anything in between.

When will this take place? February 8 through February 14, 2025!

Who can participate? Any and all of SJM’s couples! From canon to reader to crackships, any and all ships from Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and Crescent City are welcome! Please remain respectful — the characters are fictional, but the people who ship them are not. Leave the shipping wars at the door.

What are the prompts?

We're less than a month away from Crescent City House of Flame and Shadow, so I present my House of Claws and Catnip. 

A lot of characters got kittified because I wasn't quite sure where to draw the line. I mean, the kittification process isn't an exact science. 

I got a bit stuck on how to make the wolf shifters kittehs more... wolfy, but settled for pack tattoos or making them a bit shaggier.
