My knee is feeling so much better. I think it’s 90% now. Last night I stayed in Hornillos Del Camino at the Hornillos Meeting Point Albergue. I highly recommend this Albergue. We had a room with 9 bed with only 8 full. There is an beautiful garden with a Pool, not Olympic size,, but goo enough for a cool dip if you wanted. Many Albergues provide a community dinner which is really fun to meet new Pilgrims from all over the world I met Paul from the Netherlands, Ramona from Holland, couple other ladies from the Netherlands, Edurne from San Sebastián, Spain, and a German couple who met on the Camino and fell in love. Turns out they live 20 minutes from each other at home. I also share the dinner with the remaining members of my Camino family from the start, Anke from Germany and Sumi from Japan. Mena and Jessica from Taiwan ended their Camino with us in Burgos. The Community dinner was homemade Paella. Yes, homemade. It was amazing. The, Paella, fresh bread, salad, desert and fabulous Spanish red wine made for a filing dinner. Meeting wonderful felllow Pilgrims made it special. We all got up early and headed out on our next stage to Castrojeriz. It was a great 20km hike on flat ground. I turned on some tunes I had downloaded and as I started walking one of the first songs to come on was Keb Mo singing “Walking Blues.” I love that song but today it put some pep in my step as he sang about waking up early, looking around for my shoes. This is something all Pilgrims do in the morning. We saw a lot of open fields and stopped for Edurne and I stopped for second breakfast in Hontanas. We met up again in St. Anton’s and old Pirgrims hospital and later again as we made it into Castorjeriz. The Meseta is the part of the Way the works on our mind. Solitude and open spaces allow you to open your mind as well Tomorrow I leave for Formista or beyond. Now that my knees are working correctly, I can push myself further to catch up to the days I am behind. If I want to. Left Burgos early headed to Hornillos Del Camino. The start of the Meseta. It was beautiful weather and wonderful hike. Good time for contemplation. What will life be after the Camino. Who will be part of it. From St. Jean Pied de Port is to train the body. The Meseta is train the mind. What does the mind need? What does the mind want. I’m listening to @kotler.steven The Art of Impossible. What are your #marsshot goals? One of the Key Results for my Objective is to walk across Spain. I’m 1/3 of@the way there. I’m looking forward to the rest of@the journey! (at Hornillos del Camino, Spain) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChcPqaesefT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Today I start my Camino journey. I fly to Paris and start My Way on the Way August 3rd. In May of 2020, I saw a presentation at the Golden Gate Breakfast Club that inspired me. Jeff Davidson, a Marin County Firefighter, spoke about his journey on the Camino de Santiago. Wow! What an adventure that would be, I thought. After watching his presentation, I was inspired to walk the Camino myself. This Camino, the Frances Route, is 800km (500 miles) long from St. Jean Pied de Port, France, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. I am adding an extra100km to walk to Finisterre, the The End of the Earth. It was believed, when this path was started in the 800's, that it was the end of the earth. So, I set my OKRs. Objective: Experience the most amazing adventure of my life seeing something every day I've never seen before. Key Results: 1. Walk across Spain to the the Atlantic Ocean. (I will be able to say I've see the sun rise and set over the Atlantic.) This will be a 600 mile walk. Every day I will see a place I have never seen before. 2. Visit 2 Countries I've never been to before. Flying to Paris tomorrow and spending 2 days walking around. I studied French 5 years in high school and always want to go to Paris. I will travel to the French border and walk across the Pyrenees into Spain. 3. Ride a High Speed Train. I'm taking the TGV from Paris to St. Jean Pied de Port to start the Camino. 4. I will experience the culture of Spain up close through food, people, wine and history. 5. Meet new people from around the world and make new friends. I believe I will achieve my objective and even more. Follow me to see more of my Camino. https://www.instagram.com/p/CgpFjsDL9Lp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My new minimalist, textured wall art. I’ve gotten creative and wanted to create my own art pieces for my home. The walls have been bare too long. #minimalist #artofinstagram #minimalistart (at Walnut Creek, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXE1YjhPSz7/?utm_medium=tumblr
