There's been reports of... vampires? Over in England?
Great, as if all things surroundings ghosts, spirits, and the general supernatural wasn't enough... I don't even know if we have anything to combat those things if they set foot over here in Chicago, let alone New York.
Granted I don't think Spengler or Stantz were anticipating that.

Update on the Ghostbusters Mouthwashing/Ghostbusting/Throwing the boys in space but changing the scenarios because Jimmy did horrible things AU!!
Tagging @justarandombirb and @maybemang0 cause they already know about this potential AU’s existence and you two seem to at least like the idea of the boys in space :)
All I know so far is that this will be similar, but not exactly the same as Mouthwashing for the obvious reasons (those reasons are that Jimmy is obviously a horrible character, and that is his whole point- but it’s obviously very uncomfortable making any character like him because that just feels wrong.. especially what he did to Anya..)
The cause for the crash would be an accident, still don’t know why..
As for the characters- the only definitive ones I know is that Slimer would be Polle the horse (Mango’s idea), and Rookie could possibly be Daisuke because of a last minute intern. Maybe the Tulpar’s design could be inspired off the Ecto-One? Who knows.
And I promise I haven’t forgotten about my Over the garden wall AU, I’ve just got a lot of art block.

Hee hee! These boys live in my heart. Glad I'm not the only one. <3
For the 7 other people on this hellsite that ship Ronrook. Have a silly little comic. Its for you <3
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one making art for these guys, which is fair, but also kinda sad ngl. We need to recruit more into our ranks, this is already an infinitesimally small ship, we could really use the numbers :')

New Scotland Yard: Fire in a Honey Pot (1.8, LWT, 1972)
"You make it sound very convincing."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Your Mr. Logan was seen at the club on the afternoon before it burnt."
"Oh, now, don't ask me what could have taken him there, to a place like that."
"You mean you've never heard of the protection business?"
"Isn't that what you're in?"

Woodvine's love of gardening comes up again and even allows#him to hoodwink a suspect (in an entirely legal but morally dubious way). a bit of a minor entry i think‚ it's just a little silly#and distracted. also once again I am asking why a cop as senior as Woodvine is on thr ground investigating p much every crime he finds

Milstein Writing Fellow Benjamin Weinthal's reporting on Texas A&M University at Qatar's (TAMUQ) dangerous research agreement with Qatar has spurred Mark Welsh, Texas A&M's new president of its main U.S. campus, to dismiss Weinthal's reporting as "insanity," according to KTBX News in Bryan, Texas.
Texas A&M is one of six American universities with all-expenses-paid campuses in Doha, Qatar. Doha is the major funder of the U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hamas, which on October 7 massacred over 1,200 Israelis and others and kidnapped 253 people.
Weinthal quoted a prior report that asserted "Qatar has acquired full ownership of more than 500 research projects at Texas A&M, some of which are in highly sensitive fields such as nuclear science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biotech robotics, and weapons development." He added that the Qatar Foundation, controlled by that country's ruling al-Thani family, "owns all intellectual property developed at TAMUQ."
Welsh characterized Weinthal's report in words that better describe his university's Qatar agreement. "That's insanity. It's irresponsible." He went on: "We have a really, really strong track record of protecting national security research information every day and has [sic] been recognized by DOD, by the intelligence community, by a number of people."
"These findings pose a potential national security risk to the United States," Weinthal reported, adding that knowledge is transferred from A&M's main campus to Qatar in fields like "physics, computer science, and bioengineering with sensitive defense applications."
MEF Director Gregg Roman said, "What's to stop Qatar from passing along sensitive research from A&M's Texas and Doha campuses to America's enemies?"
"Tiny Qatar is the largest foreign donor to American universities," added Campus Watch director Winfield Myers. "Dangerous agreements like the one Texas A&M struck with Doha demonstrate that some schools will sell out to foreign powers if the cash flow is massive and dependable. Americans should demand an immediate investigation into this situation."

"Tensions came to a head when the federal government announced that it was contemplating conscription. For reasons unknown, both unions and the Trades and Labour Councils in both Port Arthur and Fort William reversed their previous position and joined local socialists in condemning the idea. The subsequent qualified decision of the TLC to approve the government’s conscription policy exacerbated the growing divide within the region. Predictably, local newspapers began to attack all those who opposed both the idea of conscription and the signing of national service cards. In turn, socialists became more vocal in their denunciation of the local press. Most meetings occurred in the Port Arthur Finnish Labour Temple, which was still under the control of the local Finnish branch of the SDPC [Social Democractic Party of Canada].
In January 1917, 700 men in Port Arthur rallied to the banner of the SDPC at a meeting about the National Service Bureau and its plans for a manpower survey, accurately interpreted as a first step towards a conscription policy. “The government ignored us then and has done so since,” Bryan declared, “except when they wanted to use us for their purposes.” He also proclaimed to the largely “foreign-born” audience that
they [the government] will never force me to sign this card, but they may put me where it is unnecessary to do so. If they made a practice of this, they will have a large board bill to pay. How many of you are willing not to sign the cards and go behind the bars if necessary? To be behind them would not be much more a form of slavery than that we are now in.
To those who stood up and began to cheer, Bryan said:
This was the kind of spirit that will make them [the government] sit up and take notice.
...
As increasingly became the case in the months following the first Russian Revolution in February 1917, the ethnicity of the strikers became the main point of discussion in local newspapers and in negotiations with government officials. A strike by pulp mill workers and freight handlers in Fort William in April, for instance, immediately led to concerns over a general strike and a focus on the fact that many “non-naturalized immigrants” were on the strike committee.
...over 850 men and women, mostly from the Finnish and Greek communities of both cities, attended a meeting chaired by Bryan in the Port Arthur Finnish Labour Temple on 3 June and passed a resolution condemning conscription. ... Many applauded William Welsh when he told the government officials present, “I’ll fight for my country when you show me where my country is.” Bryan, quoting from a speech made by German socialists to the Reichstag, told those present that
it is the duty of workers to fight the tyranny of government in their own country. Because a man is born on a piece of land which he never owns is no reason for his having to fight for it.... Conscription means that we favor putting a debt on the heads of our children. They will have to pay the national debt when we are dead.
Tensions came to a head in late July, when Fort William police uncovered the existence of an anti-conscription league operating in the twin cities. Headquartered in Port Arthur, the league’s membership drew heavily from members of the SDPC. Its executive consisted of Kettridge (president), Barker (treasurer), and J. Brown (secretary). Despite attempts by local officials assisted by the militia, meetings occurred in secret and, as one newspaper reported in September, “all is quiet and [unclear] along Bay street, especially in the neighborhood of the [Finnish Labour Temple] which is generally supposed to be the headquarters of the socialistic and anti-conscription element.”
In early October 1917, about 1,100 elevator employees in both Port Arthur and Fort William went on strike over wages, hours, and working conditions. All activity in both cities ground to a halt as the ports could no longer take incoming ships and the CPR became congested when grain coming from the west could no longer be unloaded. Much of the discussion in both cities regarding the strike focused on conflicting reports over how many “aliens” were involved. The Grain Elevator Workers’ Union Local 934, in particular, took issue with claims by employers and some officials that workers of certain (i.e., non-English) “nationalities” on strike had been discriminating against returned soldiers. The unions involved claimed that only 40 percent of the militants were “aliens,” whereas the employers reported to local newspapers that such people made up over 80 percent of the strikers. The ethnicity of the strikers was clearly a paramount issue in public discussions of the strike. By the fifth day, the workers were being ordered back to work, on pain of being arrested. They refused. Only after the personal intervention of Prime Minister Robert Borden– who assured strikers that arbitration proceedings would be instituted and that the government would assume control of the elevators – did they return to work after two more days."

snafu, skinny, eugene sledge, burgie, eugene roe, doc bryan, nate, dick winters, and ronald speirs for the ask game please!
I love that you cannot count cause neither can I- THATS 9- I'm adding Heffron cause that's the first guy that came to mind
THANKS MAR ILYSM MWAHMWAH KISS
-
Skinny/Speirs, Why? Cause I ship Skinny/Lieb and Lieb/Spiers, who's to say Speirs couldn't have some fun with Lieb's boy alone?? Skinny would get his ass chewed for coming back to Lieb with bite marks and bruises all over, but when he tells Joe who did it, Lieb would drag him right back to Spiers so he can watch exactly how Skinny got each and every one of the marks.
Doc/Snafu, Doc would put Snafu in his place So Fast- Bratty Snafu no longer, he's put into a state of full submission by Tim. I mean No Thoughts Head Empty type of submission, blindly following whatever Tim orders with a dopey smile on his face and a slurred "yessir"
Burgie/Nate, I think Burgie would like having someone taller than him fully surrendering themself to him, not just for sex though. I really do think Burgie would make their play just as fulfilling and satisfying but without ever getting Nate or himself off. He's that good of a dom imo.
Sledge/Roe, I have to put Gene with the other Cajun, it's law- They give Lets Go Back To The Basics vibes, and I mean that as frantic handjobs and a lot of grinding while trying to see how far they can stick their tongues down the other man's throat. All they want is to feel good with little expectation of something more.
Dick/Babe..... let him fuck a sweet boy, as a treat for dealing with Nix and Welsh all the time. Actually, it's more like let Babe have a chance to melt into a service role for Dick, let him let go and just be Good for Winters, let him soak up all the sweet praise and compliments that don't sound nasty like Guarnere's praise and compliments. Let him just be a boy again.

In the 2009 Ghostbusters videogame, there was the introduction of the character Bryan Welsh, nicknamed the Rookie, who basically was the character you played as the new team member who would learn how to handle the equipment for hunting Ghosts while having the original four Ghostbusters as your mentors.
He was a well received character by fans, so when the IDW licensed Ghostbusters Comics tooked charge of continuing the Team's adventures after the storyline of the videogame, Rookie appeared, now leading the Chicago Division of the Ghostbusters.
I started to imagine who I would have cast if Rookie had appeared as a character in the 1980s live action movies.
After watching the 1983 movie Doctor Detroit, staring Dan Aykroyd, I tought that T.K Carter, who played the protagonist's friend Diavolo in that film, would play a great Rookie (who says a new team member needs to be another generic white guy?):
In his performance, he could play the bravery, the curiosity, the quick learning and the vulnerability of a character who enters this new job of fighting the supernatural because he admires what the original four did for the city and wants to be a hero like them (even tough their heroism was accidental).
At first he can feel insecure for being younger and unexperienced, but slowly he comes to grasp his potential as someone who also has valuable contributions to the work of being a Ghostbuster.
