"These need more salt." Lorelai reached for one of the salt packets, tearing it open and sprinkling the salt over his french fries before shaking the basket for a more even salt distribution. It's become a sort of late night tradition of theirs of sorts, when Lorelai spends the night in one of Gideon's booths with her text books and a coffee pot to keep her fuelled and Finn decides to join her with a basket of french fries just so that she'll fill her stomach with something other than coffee.

She plucks one of the fries from the basket to taste, nodding her head with satisfaction before reaching for another and dipping it into some ketchup.

"Finn." Lorelai said mockingly, mirroring his tone and drawing in her own deep breath before rolling her eyes in amusement. Dramatic ought to be his middle name. "Please." Lorelai scoffed, almost offended that he thought she didn't know him by now. "You make Kim Kardashian crying over her earrings falling into the ocean look level headed."

Insufferable in high school? If Finn thought he was bad back then, what did he think of himself now? It almost made Lorelai shudder to think that this version of Finn was the matured version.

"Who says I don't hate you now?" Lorelai deadpanned, quirking a brow. "I've had to pay for all my french fries lately and they just don't taste as good when they aren't being taken from your basket." Clearly the only solution was for Finn to go back to working at the diner so Lorelai could steal his french fries.

"It'll take more than a coffee to get you back into my good graces." Lorelai said, plucking the menu from his hands and reading over the different flavours they had to offer. "You can start with a skinny hazelnut latte and a biscoff croissant."

“Lorelai.” Finn draws in a deep breath through his nose, giving her a very unimpressed look. It’s borderline disappointed in nature when he adds a subtle shake of his head. “Dramatic is the base of my personality. Don’t tell me you’re learning that now.” 

Though it is often covered by a deadpan to those that don’t know him. Lori happens to be within the circle of those Finn considers worthy to be a victim of his personality. 

He begins snickering. “I was insufferable in high school, can you imagine? You’d have probably hated me. Or stole my fries from my lunch tray.” Save for the fact Lori was still in elementary school, if his math is correct. It doesn’t matter, he could still see her snagging them from his plate at eleven years old.

“No, stop being smart. I don’t care about the logic, I just want to be upset.” Stealing a glance of the menu hanging behind the register area, Finn nudges her with his elbow. “How about I get myself back into your good graces by buying your coffee this morning?”
