We have provided wedding photography service for a friendly British Indian bride and groom at The Tower Hotel, a 3-min walk from Tower Bridge, London, UK.

It was a shorter wedding celebration for us, it only lasted around 5 to 6 hours. If we compare this with our other big Indian weddings which normally take 2 days to capture, this one perhaps is just as spectacular! The reason is the location. The couple chose Tower Bridge as the background for their couple portraits.

This couple’s civil wedding registry and banquet were held in The Tower Hotel, Tower Bridge in central London. They didn’t do any traditional style Henna or other traditional Indian ceremony, because they will have the traditional ceremonies in India instead.

Are we surprised? Did we really not see this coming? For the past year, Asian Americans have tweeted, posted, and cried out for help. They’ve posted video after video of their elders being beaten to death, or slashed open with a boxcutter, or attacked with acid thrown in the face or lit on fire. AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. We have served a nice Indian couple's wedding day in Hilton London Watford Hotel, Northwest London. Their love story unfolded in the elegant ambiance of the hotel, and our wedding photography and videography services were there to capture every moment.

This couple has actually contacted us just a couple weeks before their wedding day because they are both professional doctors and they told us they could not find enough time to plan their wedding arrangement. They got our contact from another doctor friend we served a few weeks before this couple's wedding, who used to work in the same hospital as the groom.

The Wedding Arrangement

The Hilton London Watford Hotel served as the perfect setting for their celebration. The couple orchestrated the entire event within the venue, creating a convenient and joyous atmosphere for all. As is customary in Indian weddings, the ceremony took center stage. It was an enjoyable celebration, the food and dance were superb!

The Unusual Requests

The DJ offered to display the wedding photos at the party. So during the party, we took about an hour off to process the ceremony photos for the DJ. It enhanced the guests' experience as people genuinely enjoyed reviewing the day! In the instant edits, we included the preparation shots before the ceremony, showing the bride getting her makeup done and the groom having the turban fitted.

The first look of the couple got a lot of cheers. The bride walked on the idle accompanied by her father and her son. Her radiant look was done by the same makeup artist who served another doctor's wedding. She is very nice and professional. Unlike other Asian makeup artists, she sells natural bridal looks, so the brides look like themselves.

We enjoyed their wedding very much and took lots of photos during the party session. We hope this memory will last forever for their family. And we wish them an everlasting wonderful married life!

My father named me Meena, after Meena Kumari, India's most iconic star. Like many Asians at the time she was his favourite actress. No one could say my name without saying "Kumari" at the end of it. (and If you're Indian and your names Meena, you can probably relate) 

The glee and happiness as if I was their personal 'Meena Kumari' lead me to be fascinated by this very loved actress. Her enchanting looks, mesmerised by her hair and makeup, she looked magical and the twinkle she left in the viewers eye made me realise how special she was in the hearts of her fans. 

For anyone in the western world who needs some measure to understand how huge Kumari was, she was the equivalent to India's Marilyn Monroe, who uncannily had similar troubled backgrounds, lead a similar path in life and demised under similar circumstances at a very young age. 

Meena Kumari left a huge loss in Bollywood, almost a 100 films in her short time on earth. I guess she resonates the same feeling when people look back at Marilyn Monroe "if only we could have saved her". Thankfully we have the movies, (and Google) and many many "twinkly eyes" to remind us of the Iconic beauty that is Meena Kumari.
