Don't let their looks fool you, they are actually good parents. (Maybe "okay" parents, they did let Liv run away with her boyfriend they never met and his band at 15. (But she was responsible and called them to explain her decision and that she already talked with the school and will be taking special exams at the end of every semester, so it's all good lmao.))

In my AU the Techno/Rock Trolls are the largest population of mixed trolls. They live concentrated along the shore between the Rock and Techno Kingdoms and also extending north into the no-man's-land on the map. This whole area is simply referred to as "the Shallows". They have their own communities and villages there which are located partially on land or exposed reefs/rocks and partially in the water.

Liv grew up in one of those villages. Her parents own a small apartment carved into a cliff side above the ocean. Personally they prefer walking over floating/swimming, and they can't stay in the sun for too long either (they all inherited sun sensitive skin from their Techno sides) so this way they're mostly on land and also aren't in direct sunlight after noon.

It's a modest home but I imagine they must have the prettiest sunrises.

Despite the Shallows having their own communities they still belong under the Rock Kingdom which doesn't really care about them or their different needs much, so a lot of the trolls living there are very anti authority.

One time this girl (who I used to be friends with) in my class said something along the lines of "I'm not homophobic but they don't need a full month, where's the month celebrating veterans?"

1. There are multiple months, days etc celebrating veterans and those who lost their lives in the war, people just don't actually care about that and want to use it as an excuse to complain about pride month.

2. The reason there is a month celebrating LGBTQ+ people is because we used to not have any rights and there are still people who think we shouldn't have rights. The AIDS crisis? Ever heard of that?

3. That is being homophobic. If you say this you are homophobic.

Anyway I'm glad I'm not friends with her anymore. Also I was still identifying as a lesbian when she said this, she fully knew this and still said this right in front of my face 😭 My class is weird y'all I have so many stories like this.

Orange Goblin - A Eulogy For The Damned I shamefully haven't listened to this one in a long time but it's like returning to an old friend. For those who don't know this band, just Imagine Black Sabbath and Motorhead had a baby that grew up and liked starting bar brawls in dive bars and gritty pubs for fun, that's basically Orange Goblin.

Holy shit. I just came to the realisation that Rowling's goblins giving major anti-semitic vibes isn't the only reason why they make me uncomfortable. Let me explain. The goblins have a different idea of ownership than the wizards do. They view things that were created by them as belonging to them. Compare and contrast now. In the colonial period, the British stole multiple valuable artifacts from every country they ruled. And they refuse to give those back. To this day. We consider those objects to rightfully belong to us, while the British have them in a museum. And we have to travel across the ocean, thousands of miles away to even look at things that were wrongly taken away from us. And maybe it's nothing. Maybe I'm seeing things when they don't really exist. Nevertheless. It just makes me very uncomfortable and I don't know what to make of that.
