For Brighton Hertford, who began playing the late B.J. Jones on GENERAL HOSPITAL when she was just a few months old and remained with the show until the character’s tragic death in 1994, her recent return to the Port Charles universe to take part in the episodes memorializing her former alter ego’s mother, Bobbie, was an emotional homecoming.

I loved hanging out in the hair and makeup room, which is where I could sit and talk to the adults and and be treated like one of them. It was just honestly a dream anytime I went there. Really, really good memories. When you are age zero through eight, that’s your second family. Those people are so important to me and always will be. I called Jackie my other mommy or my second mom, you know? Both Jackie and Brad were very, very special to me.”

After B.J.’s death prompted Hertford’s exit from GH, she continued to act, doing prime-time episodic work (DAWSON’S CREEK, NYPD BLUE) and film (The Parent Trap), but her life took a big turn in her teenage years. “I was 16 years old and my mom told me, ‘We are leaving California and we are moving to Utah.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, is that real?!’ 

Hertford appreciates the warm response her comeback got from viewers. “I just want fans of the show to know that whatever it meant for them, it was just as deeply meaningful for me,” she says. “I feel fortunate to share this experience with people that I don’t even know. GH is one of the biggest experiences of my life. I’m just one person, but it means a lot to me and I feel really lucky to have been a part of the GENERAL HOSPITAL family.”

Like she brought back a historical piece of Brighton's golden age, she really hates that gd street magician, she makes it an active point to help the townsfolk in both personal ways and ways to improve the entire town, she will make snarky comebacks to her own self according to them, she was mayor once, she is their Brightest star who they all helped and pitched in to save, she really likes ghosts for some reason.

Like the mcgees really did just singlehandedly make their misery meter go up the scale, and I like seeing it show in their world too

Considering everyone pitched in to buy their house back I'd say they think very highly of her! Sure she's a relentless ball of flaming energy, noise, and hijinks but ultimately the town is worse off without her antics

The Bandshell, Turnip Fest (although that was mostly Pete), Sally Tugbottom, the Snowflake Celebration, heck even the curse of the ice princess being lifted wouldn't have happened without her

I'm sure if they could they'd thank her although I think saving her forever home was thanks enough (at least for now)

Match Review: Manchester United 3-2 Aston Villa

A WIN FROM 2 DOWN. HØJLUND SCORED. CHRISTMAS MIRACLE ACHIEVED - IT'S BEER O'CLOCK. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

United are bad for the heart, but when the win comes off they're so good for the soul.

Two first half goals for Aston Villa flattered a flat Unai Emery side who were for most part under pressure from a revitalised United side with Rashford back in the starting XI, Garnacho out at RW, and Eriksen returning to CM. The Dane's control was crucial alongside Kobbie Mainoo in keeping calm, orderly possession and allowing United to build up attacks or to play like Brighton and draw Villa in before playing fast players in behind.

United kept up the pressure in the second half, though with a little extra zip to their play - though some of that came from Diogo Dalot no longer getting in his own way and just playing simpler passes.

Several offside rulings denied a United comeback until finally Alejandro Garnacho, off a Rashford assist, bagged the first of a brace for the young Argentine. Fate suggested a hat-trick, but it was another youngster - Rasmus Højlund - who grabbed his destiny and hit a lovely half volley off a United corner to ping in off the left post and past an outstretched Emi Martinez to give United the win.

It's a big relief for United and Ten Hag to win, but moreso to see goals and an assist for United's best front 3; a frontline that has been repeatedly lambasted by pundits and fans alike for the first half of this season.

Bruno Fernandes spoke on Prime's post-match coverage and said he didn't want to comment on consistency going forward, given United have promised it and repeatedly failed to deliver. Forest and Spurs are up next, so United need to keep up this momentum and play the way they did today - minus the silly mistakes.

With Eriksen back, and hopefully Amrabat fit again shortly, United do have some good depth returning finally. Defence is still a risk, but Evans is having a second wind of his career, Maguire was in form before injury, and Kambwala looked tidy for his debut. It's starting to take shape this season for ETH, just too late for a proper go at the season.

It's worth noting the above tweet too: United continues to stick by its academy and prospects. Things might not be good, but at least Eric is adhering to the club's heritage and ideals. For the most part the younger prospects have shown up their older colleagues, so perhaps we can see more from the likes of Gore, Jack Fletcher, Shea Lacey going forward and real pressure from the academy to the first team squad.

So this bald bitch spanish 'pundit' is trying to put down what Arsenal is doing by saying "the fact that Arsenal is first in the PL proves the level of the league is low this season"-- my guy probably only watches La Liga 🤡🤡🤡 really, the only two typically big teams which have lowered their quality this season are Chels*a and Liverpool, but aside from that you have a rising Newcastle, United making a comeback, City still being as annoyingly good as always with the addition of Haaland who's doing scandalous things-- plus teams like Brighton, Sp*rs, Brentford, Fullham, Palace who can really complicate things-- every matchday feels like playing a final honestly because you can't expect anything from any team you play against.

Oh, and he's also putting our players down, only recognizing Saka as world class and the rest as "regular level players"-- well with those 'regular players' we're the team who's playing the most attractive football in europe atm so??? And he also argues the players Arsenal have are not star-level names anyone can easily recognize-- bro they're still so young yet lol, even the likes of de Bruyne, Salah or Kane were not recognizable names at some point. And in football having star players doesn't necessarily guarantee you anything. It's the way the TEAM works because it's a TEAM sport, and what Mikel has done with our players from development to mentality and making every piece fit perfectly to take us where we are is something out of a movie...

2022 in Music - My Top 5 Favourite Albums

5.  MUSE – Will of the People

The maddest trio to have ever come out of Devon have returned, completing their magnificent comeback as they again prove they’ve been one of the best things happening in prog rock for a while now.  They’re still clinging to the more electronic sound that’s come to pervade their music for the past decade or so, but this still feels like a glorious throwback as Matt Bellamy and co have brought back the old school HEAVY in a big way here …

4.  ARCHITECTS – The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit

They’ve done it again. For the second year in a row, the Brighton metalcore heavy-hitters have delivered a blistering, pitch-perfect album full of riotous bangers, this time peeking in what I could happily argue is THE BEST TRACK they’ve ever put together.  As with their previous offering, For Those Who Wish To Exist, this record probably won’t please their old school fans, but I love this stuff JUST FINE.

3.  FLORENCE + THE MACHINE – Dance Fever

2.  EDITORS – EBM

The most criminally overlooked and underrated indie band of all time returns with what I think might be their very best album EVER, packed with pretty much perfect electro-rock belters. They’ve always worn their Joy Division/New Order influences on their sleeves, but this one puts the Mancunian pioneers on notice that these boys from Birmingham are now officially coming for their crowns.

Standout tracks: Heart Attack, Picturesque, Karma Climb, Kiss, Silence, Educate, Strange Intimacy

1.  RAMMSTEIN – Zeit

The German masters of industrial metal have been plying their trade since the mid-90s, and every release has been well worth a spin, but they’ve come a long way in that time, and their previous eponymously titled album was a proper banger, dominated by the best track they’ve EVER recorded, the immortal Deutschland.  It seemed like a tall order for them to top that masterpiece … but they’ve pulled off the impossible, crafting a flawless opus that perfectly encapsulates their discordant-yet-ingenious singular brilliance and, OF COURSE, the incomparable voice of Till Lindemann.  Despite appearances they insist they’ve still got plenty more music to make, but this is the PERFECT encapsulation of Rammstein at their very best.

Standout tracks: Armee der Tristen, Zeit, Zick Zack, Angst, Dicke Titten, Lügen, Adieu

The ones that didn’t quite make the cut:

BILLY HOWERDEL – What Normal Was (the other creative half of A Perfect Circle proves he can do dark, edgy and beautiful electronic rock without needing Maynard); THE GREAT DISCORD – Deam Morte (the gothic-edged Swedish metalheads bring us another winner, with magnificent frontwoman Fia Kempe on fire throughout); AURORA – The Gods We Can Touch (the immensely talented young Norwegian singer-songwriter’s third indie-pop album is another winner); GHOST – Impera (Sweden’s most unique metal band continues to dominate as Tobias Forge delivers more retro-styled brilliance); PANIC! AT THE DISCO – Viva Las Vengeance (Brendon Urie pays fitting tribute to his biggest influences – especially Queen - with this lovingly irreverent record)

Honourable mention:

SPIRITBOX – Rotoscope

The best new metalcore band of the block continue to show they really are the ones to watch with this BLINDING three-track EP which shows that the astonishingly talented Courtney LaPlante and co are DETERMINED to keep experimenting with their sound. Opener/title-track Rotoscope is the undeniable highlight here, but Sew Me Up and, in particular, Hysteria both prove to be thoroughly irresistible earworms too …

my july was uneventful but i'm looking forward to august!!! already watched barbie with my childhood bestie on tuesday (thank god he liked it or else the 20-year-friendship would've been on thin ice lol) and i got plans to meet my friends today. highlight of the month is gonna be my trip though :D i'm going to brighton with my sibling for just a bit over a week and i'm so so excited!!! future planning is also going better and overall, i think i've got a nice month in front of me :)

Brisbane Lions looking to run it back in 2025

The Brisbane Lions are back in full swing following their incredible 2024 premiership. Last season was full of ups and downs, with the lions starting 0-3, hoping to get off to a faster start this year.

This year will see the comeback of significant injured players Keidean Coleman, Lincoln McCarthy, Darcy Gardner and Tom Doedee all coming back from ACLs. Also having Norm Smith Medalist Will Ashcroft completing his first full pre-season at the club.

Despite the return of these players, the Lions will be missing star Joe Daniher, who announced his retirement following the Lions' premiership victory.

Coach Chris Fagan spoke about the loss of Joe Daniher on the Dyl and Friends podcast.

"We have to do it without Joey, so there's another opportunity there for somebody," Fagan said.

So all focus has been on the key forwards looking to step up and take his role along side Eric Hipwood and Logan Morris.

Young Henry Smith is looking to take that spot with both hands, playing a key role in intraclub matches on Harris Andrews, who has been testing his skills.

Another exciting opportunity for Lions fans is to see 2024 number 1 pick Levi Ashcroft start his journey along side his brother, which has been a huge standout at the start of the pre-season.

Levi finished the intraclub match with 5 goals and 40 disposals, something to drag all Lions fans down to watch us train at Brighton Homes Arena this weekend, the 8th of February.
