Tormund Giantsbane is MASSIVELY underrated!

In my eyes, Tormund is such an underrated character - he's literally my favourite. People tell me it's just because I think he's funny with Brienne, but that's not even close to the real reason.

Yes, he's a funny guy and he really makes me smile when I see clips of him on a bad pain day. But he's also very respectful. He saw so much beauty in Brienne. He saw her size and her skill in battle and I really think he fell for her. Which was incredibly sweet. However, what I love most about him is how he handled being rejected by the 'Big Woman'. He didn't try and convince her that he was better than Jaime, or that he'd treat her better and support all of her endeavours (which I'm certain he would do) when it came to battle and wanting to be a Knight. He didn't lash out at Jaime.

He respected her decision even though it hurt him to do so. And that is why Tormund is my favourite character.

Sandor’s heart pounded a little harder when he remembered that. The memory of how he invaded her bedroom in the Red Keep the night the Blackwater burned, of how he pressed the knife against her throat, and how bad he wanted to have her for himself still haunted his thoughts. And he used those ghosts to remind himself to be better. For her. 

She looked at him then, lovely and strong. And as her blue eyes shone in the winter, snow began to fall. Not so hard, but enough to be a good omen. He never believed such things, but signs such as this were important in the North. 

Sansa looked up then, taking up the cold falling around her, on her face and hair. She closed her eyes and let the winter cover her.

These are just some of Brienne's 'welcome' guests in GAS, one of my WIPs on AO3. I don't know if this is news, but the news is that I'm going to finish it. Yes, I'm going to finish this WIP. And the others too. Including TYNM Three Years No More.
