NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9
Today's (7/26/2024) Episode: Birthday With Friends
Luigis rise to fame came just in time for him to age up. In one way it seemed like he’d just begun “adulting” as he’d so recently graduated university, but in another with his young son, high paying job, and all the medical drama it felt like this birthday should have happened ages ago.
It surprised no one when he decided to go “all out” to celebrate. Rather than having 1 big party he chose to split the merriment over multiple days, planning separate get togethers for his family and his friends.
First up was a small beach party with his buddies. This was perfect for socially awkward Noemi who felt at home within her small circle of friends.
While the boys and the happily child-free Bonnie enjoyed a little snorkeling on the tropical reef paradise, the moms settled in the shade not to far away to chat and keep an eye on all their tiny and not so tiny loved ones.
With Skye playing quietly at her feet Noemi checked in on how Isra was doing parenting little Elyse while also pregnant again, and with twins to boot, while Breanne kept an eye on the intrepid Bruce, who was happily crawling away to some grand adventure up the hill.
Isra was already in her second trimester. She’d been a “lonely only” growing up and had worked hard to get pregnant again as soon as her doctor told her it was safe. She told the girls that she had no regrets about the “double trouble” coming her way soon; in her opinion the more the merrier!
Noemi couldn’t relate, having been quite happy as an only child herself. She was pretty certain that Skye would also be her only, but she nodded along and silently hoped it all worked out well for her interesting new friend.
Later on, everyone headed back up to the house where Peachy had set out a tasty meal near a cozy campfire. He decided to save his voice for filming, entertaining the family with some classic guitar music as Blossom and her kittens crawled all over the yard investigating the visitors.
Luigi took the opportunity to ask Beau: “How would you like to adopt Marigold or Tulip here as a fine feline companion for little Bruce? Noemi and I don’t really want three cats, and it would sure be nice to send one home with a friend.”
“Well, as long as it’s free, I wouldn’t mind a tiny tiger for my little adventurer”, Beau replied. “Cats are great indoor playmates, and easy to care for.”
After saying goodbye to their friends, and little departing Marigold, the couple got Skye to sleep and retired to the living room to unwind before bed.
“It was so great to catch up with everyone!” Luigi said, a big smile on his face. “Can you believe Isra? Excited about having two newborns AND an infant?”
“I know!” Noemi replied. “I’m glad she and Rhys are happy, but no more for me please. Unless you want to have the next one?” she grinned evilly.
“No way!” he quickly replied. “You’ve seen the pictures of dad when he was pregnant with me” he shuddered “I am never doing that to my body. Not to mention the prize at the end of it all is major surgery and more dirty diapers, and I don’t want either of those!”
“Well… it’s a good thing we’re all set up to have fun without having any more babies.” Noemi leaned in close to show him exactly what was on her mind. The TV show they’d planned to watch was quickly forgotten as her fiancé eagerly responded: “I love the way you think.” leaning in to get their little private party started.
This idea of two birthday parties was inspired by how a friend of mine always celebrates birthdays in her family. When she told me about it, I told her I simply had to use it in my story, and it seemed like just the sort of thing Luigi would do.

Breanne L. Heldman and Jenny Haward at People Magazine:
Shannen Doherty has died after years of living with cancer, PEOPLE has confirmed. She was 53. "It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease," Doherty's longtime publicist Leslie Sloane confirmed in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE on Sunday, July 14. "The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace," Sloane continued. The Beverly Hills 90210 star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and spoke candidly to PEOPLE in November 2023 about her Stage 4 breast cancer, which had by then spread to her bones, saying at the time that she didn't "want to die." “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better,” she told PEOPLE. "I’m just not — I’m not done.”
Following her 2015 diagnosis, the actress revealed less than two years later in April 2017 that she had gone into remission, however, by 2019, the cancer returned. Doherty announced her diagnosis of metastatic stage 4 cancer publicly in 2020. Then, in June of 2023, the actress shared that the cancer had spread to her brain and that she had undergone surgery.
Shannen Doherty, who starred in Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed, died at 53 after living stage 4 breast cancer.

by unpopular demand, I'm back! We're throwing a giant costume ball in a fancy castle for Halloween. The grander the better. There's no budget constrictions to take into account, the world's your oyster, tell me, what would you go dressed as? How would it look? Does the party have a theme? If you were to host it what'd be the vibe? Where are you usually found at in parties? 😊
Oooh another Glitter Ask Sunday Monday
Using a cut because this got long and I even used pictures to illustrate some of my points
A costume I've wanted to do for a long time is inspired by a photo I once saw on Pinterest where two people were dressed as Spyro and Cynder from the Spyro games, so they had the horns and wings and everything, except they were in prom dresses as well, and I've been wanting to do one like that as Spyro, except in a more casual dress, or, like, as a girl from the 90s, since that's when the Spyro games first came out
The account that I pulled this image from is Breanne Messner, but I don't know if that's one of the people in the photo
I have more Halloween decorations than places to put them, so I would bust out all my decorations and then buy more, so long as the castle has room! I have big light-up spiders with bendy legs, a tinsel spider who I call "Disco Spider" and she hangs from the ceiling, a big haunted house candle holder, a metal bucket candle holder with a cat's face cut out of the side, a ceramic jack-o-lantern candle holder, a string of small paper lanterns with jack-o-lantern faces on them, a sign that sticks into the ground that says "Trick or Treat" with a purple owl on it, a trick-or-treating basket shaped like a cat's head with glow-in-the-dark eyes that I keep on the table and it always has candy for everyone to take, string lights of spiders and their webs dangling, a bunting that's actually a bunch of bloody murder weapons... and there's probably more that I'm forgetting. I could carve a bunch of pumpkins and set them around the whole place -- I don't typically do this because we live in a very small town in the middle of nowhere and don't feel like attracting trick-or-treaters with outdoor decorations because we wouldn't get many, if at all.
Don't worry! This is an electric candle so I'm not heating up the shelf above the candle holder
The closest I've ever come to having a themed Halloween party where the theme wasn't just "Halloween" was in 2015 when I hosted Halloween high tea. (One of the guests tried to correct me and tell me it wasn't high tea, as if I hadn't just been to an English tea room a few months prior where my England Mum called it high tea.) If I'm remembering correctly, I had whipped out the owl-shaped teapot my England family gifted to me. I made cupcakes that looked like zombie heads with the brains exposed, little cucumber sandwiches like what I had in England at the tea room, and I think scones or American-style biscuits? (There is a difference between scones and American biscuits and I will die on this hill)
My England Mum bought this behind my back at the same time I was buying her rabbit socks behind her back
If there was a theme at the castle party, it might be zombies? Just because one of my favourite shows is about zombieism as a chronic illness and one of my favourite video games is about mushroom zombies. If I went with this theme, then I would skip on the Spyro costume and go with being a zombie, though I would have to decide if I wanted to have partially deceased syndrome (an excuse to break out the white contacts) or cordyceps brain infection (a chance to learn some new makeup skills).
Me in cosplay as Kieren Walker
At the castle party, I would probably be setting up the TV for people to watch a show like In The Flesh or Courage the Cowardly Dog, watch a movie like Halloweentown (I don't have a video link for Halloweentown specifically but I do have one for DCOMs in general) or Silent Hill, or to play a video game from my collection like Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition or Silent Hill 4: The Room -- since it's a big castle, there's probably enough space for three TVs and we could have a TV room, a movie room, and a video game room. I would probably have a device somewhere with music playing, some Halloweeny songs such as Sally's Song by Amy Lee (or the original version by Catherine O'Hara) or Howl by Florence + The Machine and some year-round bops such as Planetary (GO!) by My Chemical Romance or Celebrity Status by Marianas Trench. (These examples are based on what my friends and I would listen to at parties in high school.) Sometimes at parties, I organise non-video games, like the time I had a Doctor Who-themed birthday party so we played Doctor Who Risk in the basement, or the time I helped host a Halloween party near a big park with a bunch of trees so we played "live-action Slender" as we called it (a game of tag where one person is "it" and the other players have to collect as many pages as possible before being eliminated by the one who's "it" or before the timer goes off).
A sampling of some games I have that might be appropriate for Halloween -- yes, these are all single-player, but it's sometimes just as fun to watch your friend play a game as it is to play it yourself
A few years ago, I discovered how much I like making nerdy/themed cocktails, so I would probably also be making Halloween drinks for anyone who wants them. Not sure what Halloween or horror cocktail recipes I have (aside from Camp Crystal Lake, which is gross because the Rumchata curdles when it mixes with the other ingredients) but we can probably come up with something! Perhaps boozy hot chocolates or some kind of drink with raspberry Sourpuss. Of course, I would have non-alcoholic drinks, too! Maybe I'll put on coffee and offer my pumpkin spice creamer, have some non-boozy hot chocolates available, and/or make something with grenadine.
The cocktail I got at the Halloween drag show on Friday along with my last five for tipping the artists
For food, I would probably offer pizza, cupcakes, candy, pie, and more!
A picture I recently took for Instagram of my turkey Ulana getting herself a slice of pumpkin pie
And of course, I would send everyone home with a goody bag or goody box! One of the parties I hosted in high school had goody boxes shaped like haunted houses and contained such things as bouncy balls that look like eyes and jelly beans in the Halloween colours
No picture to go with this one 🤷♀️ I was gonna put the goody boxes I made my best friends this year, but they both follow me here and I don't want to spoil it for them 🤫
#alcohol /#eye horror /#i discovered while making this post that my copy of resi 7 is missing#im gonna scream#i was already missing the ps4 version of sotc#i ate up most of my phone battery making this answer lol

Shannen Doherty's Mother Speaks Out After Actress' Death: 'My Beautiful Girl and My Heart' (Exclusive)
"Our family wants to thank everyone who has shown love and support for our Shannen throughout her life," Rosa Doherty tells PEOPLE
By Liza Esquibias and Breanne L. Heldman Published on July 15, 2024 05:33PM EDT
Shannen Doherty's mother is thanking fans for their support two days after the loss of her daughter.
On Monday, July 15, Rosa Doherty remembered the late actress for the first time in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE. Shannen died at the age of 53 on July 13 after a long journey with cancer.
"She is my beautiful girl and my heart," Rosa says. "Our family wants to thank everyone who has shown love and support for our Shannen throughout her life. We are truly appreciative."
Shannen's journey with cancer began in 2015 when she first shared her breast cancer diagnosis. In 2017, she announced she was in remission, but later revealed in 2020 it came back as metastatic stage 4 cancer.
On Sunday, July 14, Shannen's longtime publicist Leslie Sloane confirmed the actress had died one day earlier in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE.
"It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease," Sloane said. "The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace."
Shannen has previously credited her mom for showing her how to push through hard times. In November 2023, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum opened up to PEOPLE about her mom's brain aneurysm when Shannen was 8.
“I come from a woman who was determined,” she said at the time. “She impressed that upon me as a very young child like, 'You don't give up. You just have to work hard at it.' "
“I think I was always a fighter,” she added. “I was raised that way to be very strong and that I could do anything that I put my mind to.”
That attitude was on full display in June 2023 when Shannen revealed she had a brain tumor removed. She explained that while it was "one of the scariest things I've ever been through," she was determined to continue working.
“People just assume that it means you can’t walk, you can’t eat, you can’t work. They put you out to pasture at a very early age —‘You’re done, you’re retired,’ and we’re not,” she said, adding, “We’re vibrant, and we have such a different outlook on life. We are people who want to work and embrace life and keep moving forward.”
When she received her cancer diagnosis, Shannen explained that she was worried for her mother.
"I don't think that there's a decision that I make that I don't take [my mom] into consideration. I love her, and I am so incredibly grateful to her for being an amazing mother," she told PEOPLE. "I take my brother into consideration and his children, my dog, my animals."
In April, just a few months before she died, the Charmed star spoke about how she prioritized her mother amid her heath struggles on an episode of her podcast Let's Be Clear.
"Because it’s going to be so hard on her, I want other things to be a lot easier," she said at the time. “I don’t want her to have a bunch of stuff to deal with. I don’t want her to have four storage units filled with furniture."
In that same interview, the Little House on the Prairie actress explained that while the thought of death didn't scare her, she didn't "want" to die. “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better," she said. "I’m just not — I’m not done."

Books read October-December
My goal was to read 120 books this year. I just finished number 129. (Some of these I reviewed as part of my WWW posts).
October:
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I had high expectations for this book, as it had been so praised, and I felt let down by it. Still enjoyable, but needed more octopus. Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe. Read as part of Banned Books week. The Romance Rx by Kathryn Riya. I wanted more medicine and medicine-related residency drama. Unraveling: What I Learned about Life While Shearing Sheep, Dyeing Wool, and Making the World’s Ugliest Sweater by Peggy Orenstein. Just a really lovely memoir about life changing and feeling present in the world. The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic by Breanne Randall. Such a disappointing book. Deerskin by Robin Mckinley. Reread. Not my favorite book of hers, but it’s still a great retelling.
November:
Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel. A retelling of an old Hindu religious myth, a story I was only passingly familiar with. I enjoyed the world building, I had trouble with some of the motivations of the characters. And I think it’s hard to write a retelling of a story that a major religion is based on. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. This is such a wonderful book, with the mystery and characters slowly being revealed. The Halcyon Fairy Book by T. Kingfisher. Just witty retellings of fairy tales with a lot of humor and grim. The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet by John Green. I really loved this collection of essays on our world. Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Audiobook. A beautiful exploration of our connection with the world and how we can heal that relationship. The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abby Waxman. Library find. Cute light book, (although if I had a boss who didn’t pay the rent for 6 months straight and I was threatened with losing my job because of it, I wouldn’t be all “oh she’s just that way”) but one that I probably won’t remember in a year or two. The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher. The atmosphere in this book is almost its own character. I loved the secondary characters, but the middle sagged a lot. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. I struggled so much with the beginning, because the set up was so ridiculous. It picked up after that and ended strongly. I don’t know how she’s going to write a 5 book series though. The Magical Language of Others by E.J. Koh. NPR did a write up on her debut novel, but it wasn’t available at the library. It was a quick read but I found the writing to be confusing in places and lacking in emotional growth. Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood. Charming, nerdy, engaging. Just a fun new adult book. Sweet Like Jasmine: Finding Identity in a Culture of Loneliness by Bonnie Gray. This book was not for me. Ugh. The Ladies of Grace Adieu, and Other Stories by Susanna Clarke. Audiobook. Just a lot of fun going back into the world of Jonathan Strange. I really want her to write a prequel with The Raven King. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. I loved Rocky and the ending. Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. Still on the lookout for the perfect doctor romance. This one was enjoyable and mostly accurate.
December:
Mister Magic by Kiersten White. Payback’s a Witch by Lana Harper. Gwen and Art Are Not in Love by Lex Croucher. Paladin’s Grace, Paladin’s Strength, Paladin’s Hope by T. Kingfisher. Reread these in anticipation of the release of her latest Saints of Steel’s book. Just excellent world building and romance and humor. Know My Name by Chanel Miller. Book club book. Harrowing memoir, but what I really appreciated was the description of how the justice system is so awful for victims. Paladin’s Faith by T. Kingfisher. I cannot wait for the other 3 books. Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez, the sequel to Part of Your World. I liked this one better and it was almost the doctor romance that I’ve been craving. The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan. I’d read it if you like dystopian novels, but I’m still grousing about how the villains were single, childless women. A Restless Truth by Freya Marske. Reread. I liked it better than the first time, maybe because I skipped over a lot of the romance (it’s a trope that I just don’t like). Carry on by Rainbow Rowell. Reread, audiobook. The audiobook was a lot of fun and I’ve forgotten a lot of details in the last 5+ years. A Power Unbound by Freya Marske. A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, but the first book was definitely the best of them all. Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree. The prequel to Legends & Lattes, which I adored last year, and I think I liked this one even better.

Okay so I know Elain has brown golden hair and dark brown eyes but...I feel like she'd play such a good Elain. Her character in Frontier is innocent but likewise cunning and knows how to bite.

ASK ONCE UPON A CURSE is a canon divergent, ask based roleplay starting off at season one. Each week is a new episode, allowing characters to explore what happened between the scenes and after it ended, before the next one begins. We have plenty of canon faces still available, and original characters are more than welcome!

Rampage (2018)
In today's review, I crush box office records. As I attempt a #positive review of 2018's actual blockbuster Rampage #DwayneJohnson #NaomieHarris #MalinÅkerman #JeffreyDeanMorgan #JakeLacy #JoeManganiello #MarleyShelton #PJByrne #DemetriusGrosse #JackQuaid
Even though we live in densely populated cities or suburbs mere stones-throws from said cities, You got to admit there’s a cathartic thrill that comes from seeing them getting devastated. Action films have known this for decades, and video games have made a handsome profit, letting their audience create the set pieces for themselves. In 2018, the beloved arcade franchise got a Hollywood…

Rampage or Rock, Ape, Lizard...and a Really Big Wolf
Well, Rampage was the most fun I’ve had at the cinema in a long time. This could be thanks, in part, to having absolutely zero expectations, but I have to give credit where credit’s due, Rampage was just a really good laugh. It was unashamedly a stupid film, but didn’t - for the most part - fall prey to the many sexist tropes that unfortunately seem to come with B-movies.
*Rampage Spoilers Follow*
Although Rampage is basically about big animals smashing stuff, with a sub-plot of Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) and a massive gorilla being bros, there was a female lead. Dr. Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris) features as a capable scientist and relentless investigator, used as a scapegoat in a vast corporate conspiracy, who is determined to uncover the truth, right the wrongs that her research has been used for and clear her name. It is always wonderful to see a talented black actress take the lead in anything, especially in the genre of monster movies, which is usually dominated by swooning blonds. In alarming and spectacular news, at no point did her shirt become tactically torn - despite Kate surviving a helicopter crash - and she doesn’t snog the male lead at the end! Woohoo! Kate is introduced in a way that I feel is usually reserved for male characters; she is someone who’s fallen on hard times and is struggling to get her life back together. So, when we meet her, she is woken up late by a phone call, stumbles out of bed, throws some clothes over the underwear she was sleeping in and drinks something out of a cup that was just lying around. Whilst this is obviously not a positive portrayal of a woman, it could be a realistic one, and it’s always interesting to see female characters being given the opportunity to display stereotypically male behaviours. People aren’t straightforward and we don’t all react the same way to problems. At least it makes a difference from women being shown watching sad romance movies and eating ice cream out of the tub as their coping mechanism. Also, Kate is given plenty of time to showcase her many talents and positive attributes as the film progresses.
One of her great traits is that she continually calls Davis out on his shit. Firstly, when he and government agent Harvey Russell (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) square up for a round of macho intimidation, she interjects, “Let’s all take a breath…Or we can all get in each other’s faces and see who’s the toughest.” In addition, when Davis describes his ludicrous plan to fly a helicopter down a collapsing building as, “We just need to get enough lift to stay on top of the building as it falls, you know, just like riding an avalanche,” Kate replies with the only sane response, which is, “No, I don’t know!” There’s no implicit, doe-eyed trust in Davis’ machismo methods and madcap schemes, all of that has to be earned.
As well as an abundance of common sense, Kate also displays a number of practical skills, such as using her brain - not just brute strength - to smash a window without hurting anyone and pulling off some impressive hacking, even if it is very Hollywood silly. Therefore, Kate acts as a good counterpoint to Davis’ brawn and emotional behaviour as far as animals are concerned; she is an intelligent and rational scientist, as well as an exceedingly sensible and pragmatic human being.
Whilst Kate has to share the limelight with Davis as the hero, the antagonist of Rampage was undoubtedly a woman. Claire Wyden (Malin Åkerman) was a superb B-movie villain and mastermind. Whilst culpability was technically divided with her brother Brett (Jake Lacy), he was portrayed as an almost Shakespearian fool; comically sweating and stress eating pop tarts - another example of supposedly traditional coping mechanisms being gender swapped. Claire was two-dimensionally evil - the first thing we hear her say is, “Either you come home with my research, or you don’t come home at all,” to an astronaut on an exploding space station. Usually, this would be a bone of contention for me, but this is a B-movie, baddies aren’t supposed to be complex. I think it’s enough of a victory that she is the vastly more competent sibling by a million miles, the Brain to her brother’s Pinky if you will. Claire remains cool, collected and in control while Brett falls apart. Naturally, she doesn’t survive this - Rampage is a monster movie after all, of course she is gobbled up by a giant gorilla, what else did you expect? The factor to consider when weighing up sexism is if it’s something that only affects one gender, and in this case, the answer is no. Brett is also subjected to a gruesome comedy death; his is in fact much more visceral, he is squashed flat in a bloody mess by falling debris. So, in the eyes of Rampage at least, characters seem to be judged by their deeds, not their gender.
Two minor named female characters remain; the first is the aforementioned astronaut, Dr. Kerry Atkins (Marley Shelton). Whilst we only briefly see her before her escape pod explodes in the vacuum of space, she shows great courage and willingness to endanger herself for a greater cause. For someone who’s just a device to get some canisters to land on a bunch of animals, she is shown to be very strong in her short time on screen, it’s a shame she was killed for such an arbitrary plot point.
The second background female character is Amy (Breanne Hill), a colleague or possibly student of Davis. Amy is a bit more of a dilemma, as she is portrayed as much more capable and calm in the face of danger than her male counterpart, Connor (Jack Quaid). However, she does flirt in a really gross way with Davis, pretty much throwing herself at him and saying that she wants to learn about “submission techniques.” On the other hand, Connor is also portrayed as a bit of a reprehensible idiot, making up adventure stories to impress Amy and coming out with some fairly offensive white saviour bullshit. It could be that both of these characters simply serve to make Davis look like an all-round wonderfully good person, but a woman offering herself up to him sexually is always going to come off as creepy and seems unnecessary.
Overall, most of the women in this dumb movie are surprisingly confident and capable. They may play up to stereotypes here and there, but they’re character based ones - such as pragmatic scientist and megalomaniacal villain - rather than ones involving gender. Mostly, it was just really fun to have a guilt free laugh at a silly B-movie without having to bludgeon the bit of my brain that thinks about the representation of women into silence.
And now for some asides:
When Dwayne Johnson choked that guy out he says, “That’s a big arm, don’t fight it, sleepy time.” I really hope he talks about his body like that in real life.
Also he has like five had signals that communicate the whole of the English language? Amazing.
I really related to that guy saying, “I’ve started using vegan deodorant, I smell like guacamole.” I just had to put some vegan shampoo in the bin because it made me retch, please make things that smell nice and aren’t evil!

Shannen Doherty had an emotional reunion with her Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates this weekend.
Original cast members from the popular '90s teen drama — including Doherty, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris — came together on stage Sunday to discuss the series and take questions from fans during a 90s Con panel hosted by PEOPLE Senior Editor Breanne L. Heldman in Tampa, Florida.
Toward the end of the panel, Doherty, who has stage 4 breast cancer, received a standing ovation from the audience, causing her to tear up.
"Thank you so much," an emotional Doherty, 52, said to the crowd. "You guys know how much I love crying constantly. And I do, it seems. So, thank you."
In June, Doherty shared that the cancer had spread to her brain and posted a video on Instagram of her undergoing radiation therapy. She had a tumor removed from her head after a CT scan determined that the cancer cells spread from their original site to the brain. "I have a fight for my life, that I deal with every day," Doherty said on Sunday. "I think I am really great."
Doherty joked about something else she thinks she's great at. "My other profession is getting engaged, married and divorced, and I'm doing that very well," said the star, who split in April from her third husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko after 11 years of marriage.
Next up, Doherty — best known for starring as Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210 andPrue Halliwell on Charmed — will launch a podcast in November.
"It’s going to be called Let’s Be Clear, and it’s a live interactive memoir," Doherty shared on Sunday. "So you get to hear everything that I’ve refused to say before. I’m spilling the tea, but nicely!"
She also talked up 50-year-old Green's podcast, Old-ish. "It’s amazing," Doherty said. "So make sure you’re listening to it. Thank you for your love."
Doherty has been open about her cancer journey for years. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, which went into remission in 2017. She then announced in 2020 that her cancer had returned.
“Our life doesn’t end the minute we get that diagnosis," she told Good Morning America in February 2020. "We still have some living to do.”
During the Charmed panel at 90s Con in Connecticut in March, also moderated by Heldman, Doherty gave a positive update on her health.
In June, Doherty offered another update about the surgery she underwent in January. "January 12, the first round of radiation took place," Doherty explained, alongside an Instagram video of her receiving radiation therapy. "My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic, and there was a lot going on in my life."
Doherty admitted she felt scared before the surgery. "The fear was overwhelming to me. Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her," she said on Instagram. "Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore. This is what cancer can look like.”
In August, as she continued undergoing treatment for breast cancer, Doherty was photographed vacationing on Italy's Amalfi Coast in the fishing village of Nerano, diningal fresco with friends.
Beverly Hills, 90210 aired on Fox from 1990 to 2000 for 10 seasons. There were several spin-offs, including Melrose Place and The Heights, and also a 90210 reboot series featuring some original cast members that aired on The CW between 2008 and 2013. Additionally, the short-lived revival BH90210 aired in 2019.
Over the years, the BH90210 castmates stayed friendly and have been seen together at various events, including last March for the second 90s Con, held at the Connecticut Convention Center.
90s Con Florida began Friday at the Tampa Convention Center and wrapped Sunday. Event organizer That's 4 Entertainment also held a number of other major cast reunions during the convention, including Full House, Saved by the Bell and Charmed.
