The short theatrical piece featured Oil Execs / Bad People pouring oil onto an iceberg, which represents the…

Why don't we buy bulk fruits and veggies only? As plastic waste pollutes the planet it is our responsibility to make simple changes in our everyday lifes. Heaps of plastic packaging end up in developing countries where our environment is contaminated even further and peoples' health is at risk. Plastic litter has become a huge global challenge that we need to tackle asap!

Coca-Cola Named Most Polluting Brand On Earth For Second Year !
In a global audit of plastic waste conducted by the Break Free From Plastic movement, Coca-Cola was found for the second year in a row to be the top polluting brand worldwide.
The multinational beverage giant is accountable for more plastic waste than the next three biggest polluting companies combined.
In a new annual report compiled by 72,000 volunteers of the Break Free From Plastic movement, Coca-Cola was labelled the world’s biggest plastic polluter out of 8,000 brands audited.
Of the 37 countries across 4 continents surveyed, the company was accountable for 11,732 pieces of plastic litter – more than Nestle, PepsiCo and snack purveyor group Mondelez International combined.
Coca-Cola was the top source of plastic in Africa and Europe, and the second biggest source in Asia and South America.
Despite these public green campaigns, what Break Free From Plastic’s global audit indicates is that these perhaps amount to nothing more than marketing techniques, according to some eco-activists.
Alongside their poor record for plastic pollution on coastlines around the world, a leaked audio tape obtained by The Intercept recently revealed how Coca-Cola-backed organisations attempt to block recycling policies.

How to Give Up Plastic: A Guide to Changing the World, One Plastic Bottle at a Time | Book Review
by Will McCallum
Tumblr media
Around 12.7 million tonnes of plastic are entering the ocean every year, killing over 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals.
By 2050 there could be more plastic in the ocean than fish by weight.
Plastic pollution is the environmental scourge of our age, but how can YOU make a difference?
Source: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38587839-how-to-give-up-plastic
No Regrets Picking Up This Read
What an extremely informative read. This book covers everything from the statistics of plastic pollution, to the basics on how to cut plastic out of one’s life, to the ways of going around with a campaign to #BreakFreeFromPlastic. I would gladly say this is the book for any beginners who want to start a green life now. It’s not only educational; it’s also such an easy read that anybody can retain information easily from this book. Of course, this is also a book for anyone who is already eco-friendly, except one might just find the book too brief for one’s already green liking.
Even though I loved this book and thoroughly enjoyed reading it, it’s unfortunate that this book really only focuses on the Western parts of the world. Just like this blog is named–thoughtsfrom65–I’m from Singapore and sad to say, a lot of McCallum’s mentioned methods are downright tough to follow here. Singapore imports pretty much everything from anywhere else and for that, I can’t easily just make a statement to the upper management about cutting out plastics or suggest solutions to their ever-growing plastic problem.
If ever someone from the East decides to write something similar to this book, you can bet I will get to that book eventually if not immediately.

Who needs memory foam when you can step into a tiny forest? 🌳🌳🌳 Not only is moss a great carbon sink, it's also super soft to walk on! Most bathmats are made of petroleum-based synthetic fibers like nylon, polyester and acrylic. They aren't sustainable and they eventually break down into microplastics. This moss rug answers the problem by bringing the outdoors to you in an unconventionally natural way. Now if we could just turn the shower into a waterfall… . . ————————————————— FOLLOW - @greenlife.app 🌎💪💪🏾💪🏼 ————————————————— . . 📹 @nection_design . . #greenlife #greenlifstyle #plasticfree #noplastic #plasticpollution #plasticban #banplastic #climateaction #sustainability #zerowaste #plastic #breakfreefromplastic #saynotoplastic #recycle #recycling #singleuseplastics #zerowaste #pollution #savetheplanet #savetheearth #breakfreefromplastic #nudge #nudges https://www.instagram.com/p/CTFvsRwFNMF/?utm_medium=tumblr

#Repost @ecowizard @download.ins --- Tenith Adithyaa, a scientist from Wartap village in Tamil Nadu, uses Banana Leaf Technology, which preserves the leaves for up to three years, to create products that can serve as an alternative to plastic. 🍃 Naturally, leaves and most biomaterials degrade within a shelf lifespan of three days and are discarded as waste. Banana leaf technology is a cellular eco-friendly technology that preserves leaves and organic biomaterials for a year without the use of any chemicals. This technology enhances the leaves' physical properties thus making a viable biodegradable material alternative to both plastic and paper. 🍌 Speaking with NDTV, Tenith said, “We are habituated to using plastic plates, straws, cup, polythene, and packaging. Paper alternatives are used only once and create a lot of waste, so I came up with an idea to replace these with banana leaves.” He added, “The technology preserves banana leaves for over three years without the use of any chemicals. It also increases its durability. Preserved leaves can resist extreme temperatures and hold more weight. The manufacturing cost of these plates and cups is very low, and they can ultimately be used as manure or fodder.” Share this with someone who would love to see this! ————————————————— FOLLOW - @ecowizard 🌎💪💪🏾💪🏼 —————————————————. . . 📸 Credits : @ecocentral_ . . #unwrapxmas #GetWasteEd #reuse #reduce #recycle #recycling #recycled #wastefree #zerowastelife #zerowastehome #zerowasteliving #zerowasteholiday #noplanetb #environmentallyconscious #savetheplanet #sustainableliving #saveourplanet #savetheearth #breakfreefromplastic #anticonsumption #saynotoplastic #noplastic https://www.instagram.com/p/CKczbzJBPkB/?igshid=6e18j9iy6q3u

#plasticfreejuly might be over but you can still work to reduce your plastic use! Try a reusable mask, a shampoo bar or even something as simple as a wooden pencil instead of a mechanical one! It is that easy to reduce your single use plastic. #whaletales #talesofsavingwhales #breakfreefromplastic #beplasticwise @plasticfreejuly #stopsucking #choosetorefuse #savethewhales #beatplasticpollution https://www.instagram.com/p/CECoumtBpBe/?igshid=17kp3rau0280r
