like hannibal knows portuguese. he knows brazilian portuguese. he probably speaks like a carioca but like that’s okay nobody’s perfect. you can fight me on this, hannibal lecter knows goddamn brazilian portuguese that’s the only thing that makes sense. he has a house in rio that is his first stop after getting out, gets rid of a finger in rio and then goes to italy and is like ‘hello i’m dr. fell and i’m from brazil’ like he knows portuguese there’s no way he doesn’t.
OK so he might have eaten cuscuz. which like i don’t trust rio that much to make Good cuscuz but whatever i trust hannibal to find a proper restaurant with proper cuscuz in rio.
but also, hannibal could have tried caipirinha. except hannibal is a wine guy, i’m not sure he would try caipirinha on his own. but i do think will graham would like cachaça and by proxy caipirinha and i do think he would make hannibal drink a caipirinha and like if you like alcohol but not caipirinha you are either wrong or haven’t tried good caipirinha.
all that to say i love the image of hannibal and will in a bar table and dancing smooshed together to forró. rip them they’d have loved live forró at a bar at 11pm on a saturday.
having many brazilian thoughts about hannigram. like a lot of them, being consummed by them levels of thoughts

have any other ethnicity headcanons for fairy tail characters?
Fairy Tail Characters Ethnicity HCs
I don’t have as much extensive proof as I do for my Erik headcanons post but I will explain my thoughts for why I think certain ethnicities.
Natsu Dragneel : Japanese + Greek? (Because of the clothing style in his past flashback with his biological family)
Erza Scarlet : British + ? - I say British because she reminds me of Lara Croft who in her older days had reddish hair, also English history is big on knights, which Erza is. The other half I can’t tell as I don’t actually know what to think of her father Rung as. He seems like a POC though. (Maybe Mexican?)
Lucy Heartfilia : British / American - Because Lucy’s heritage as a noble it reminds me more of English nobility, but then her characteristics remind me more of american for some reason (it doesn’t help that Lucy looks a lot like Ashley Graham from the original RE4 and she’s American so I am kind of biased there)
Gray Fullbuster : Canada or Serbia (I think that’s mainly because I am making the link of cold countries though). Also if with Serbian I can see Ultear and him coming from similar places)
Gajeel Redfox : Native American (His hair and features remind me of Native Americans and I don’t know he kind of reminds me and looks like of Ratohnhake:ton / Connor from AC3) Juvia Lockser : Spanish + Russian (Spanish as the name Juvia is Spanish origin and Russian since the ushanka she wears and her clothing style in general)
Jellal Fernandes : Mixed ethnic - Mixed Arab (mainly Levantine Arab) + Brazilian, but then in my HCs he’s also part Desi too since the name Jellal is most prominent in India (And I want Erik to have a desi bro in CS). And the Arab/South asian idea came from him wearing Kohl/Surma in S1 in the anime.
Ultear Milkovich : Serbian with mixed Central Asian or Kazakh (Again cold countries but since Ultear looks Eurasian but with dark features these countries came to mind. Serbia because apparently the name Milkovich is Serbian origin)
Macbeth/Midnight : English w/Scottish + Irish + Japanese - English/Scottish/Irish is a given since his name ‘Macbeth’ but since his aesthetic is alike to Visual Kei, I see Japanese influence. But I don’t know, I just can see Macbeth with a british accent, maybe that’s just me.
Sorano Aguria : French and Korean/Japanese (I don’t know why I have the French, it just fits me when discussing with my friend @acutemushroom. Korean/Japanese because despite having a Japanese name (her and Yukino) due to her features she gave me kind of Korean vibes for some reason)
Sawyer : English (I can’t explain other than the name. But I thought of Romanian too for some reason, so English + Romanian?)
Richard Buchanan : South African + Scottish? (My only thought for this was because Buchanan I knew it as a last name big in South Africa, and Scottish is probably because of the red hair and ruddy complexion that I know scottish people can have)
Meredy : Irish (I don’t know why, it was hard to think of anything for her)
Kinana : Desi (Since the name Kinana is an urdu name apparently - So Pakistani)
Cana Alberona : Irish + Italian (Guildarts gave me tanned Irish vibes for some reason and Alberona is I believe an Italian name)
Minerva Orland : Chinese + Latina (She wears a Cheongsam and her hair reminds me of Chinese culture but then I see Latina too) BUT, maybe she has Egyptian too and Italian since Minerva (Italian/Latin) but the blue eyeliner/eyeshadow she always has is alike to Malachite powder that was used by ancient egyptians
Laxus Dreyar : Ukrainian + Russian (He gives me eastern europe vibes and also his features) but also since he's Makarov’s grandson he’d have Russian in him
Makarov Dreyar : Russian - (I think his full name is of Russian origin but I can't be sure.) These are the HCs I have off the top of my head, hope this answers your question!

Have you seen this?
"Alice has been replying to a fan in DM this I know 10000% saying Sam followed her and sent her DM and now she’s posted in London."
I'm not posting the entire message as there's some dare I say strong language in it which I wouldn't post. Whether it is true or not, I don't know, I haven't seen any proof, but as I said 'fwiw'!
Dear DM Anon,
Please stop sending that woman's babble to my page. I am not interested.
Thank you. She knows exactly what she is doing and we are not 12. If you post something, post everything. Don't play your madre superiora, just because there is 'strong language' in it. Can't be any stronger than the one I use when I accidentally hurt my pinky toe in some random (but sharp) furniture's edge.
And how does Anon know who he's DMed and if he DMed her? Is Marple's Anon from the KGB? Is Marple's Anon Mrs. Graham? Is Marple's Anon Marple herself? Is that how you call ' Sources', now?
At least * urv has The Voices and the Copy/Paste button. What does Marple have, except innuendo and more convoluted crap?
The only thing we can be sure of is that the woman is not Emily White, Anon.
[Later edit]: now that I think of... only diplomats and ex-pat executives are 'posted in London'. Tourists, like Alice, can only have 'posted from London'. Marple's Brazilian Anon busted by a preposition, heh.

selfship ask game.😈😈 for electricvinyl😈😈😈😈😈
🎈, 🌱, 🩹, 🍒 & 🏷️ yay
HIII I JUST WOKE UP AFTER THE LONGEST NAP KNOWN TO MAN SO I ANSWER NOW!!!! TYTYTYTT FOR THE ASK YAY HIIIIII HIHIHI
edit: i saved this as a draft and forgot to finish so I'll schedule it to post in the morning
🎈— what is your most precious memory with them?
I think us falling asleep next to eachother during our stay at VILE academy, us pushing our beds together to chat all night only to immediately pass out...<3
🌱 — how do you make up with each other after an argument?
at first we both just stuck with the silent treatment, we wouldn't even talk things out. just wait it out until we were on okay terms again. now we've eased into being able to sort of talk about things. it's harder for me to speak up about how I feel (fear of rejection), but crackle can be very well worded so I open up more...
🩹 — if you or your f/o got hurts, how would the other react?
as agents, we're not half bad at avoiding major injuries, so Crackle isn't too fussed if I get hurt. or vise versa. but when we can tell the other is struggling we don't waste a second to come to the others aid.
🍒 — what would your contact names be for each other?
He'd have me as "whizz" at first, but later on change it to "darl❤️"
him as "mr electric" and later on "Gray 😸😸<3"
🏷️ — what is you and your f/o's ship name? how did you decide on that name?
Electricvinyl!! Electric is pretty basic but accurate to Graham(Crackle), he's and electrician and later on uses his skills to work for VILE, so he has a pretty sparky personality. Vinyl for me because my self insert fights *Capoeira, and usually tries so have some form of music on him so he can fight rhythmically but also different depending on genre and song. but also I collect vinyls heehee. generally our relationship is electric and full of sparks<33
*Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian cultural practice – simultaneously a fight and a dance that can be interpreted as a tradition, a sport and even an art form.

Okay...Not the ship analysis yet but a little snippet of it. To write the analysis I had to think about why I like Red Crackle so much. And I realized one of the reasons why is that they remind me of another ship I also love:
(Warning:Spoilers of both Carmen Sandiego and Spider-Man Into/Across the Spiderverse ahead.)
Yes, they got differences but also massive resemblance either that once you notice, you can't unsee it. It isn't noticeable when you try to compare Gray and Miles and Gwen and Carmen, but once you switch...
Both Miles and Carmen are latino main characters, just that Miles is black and Carmen is brown. While Puerto Rico is a USA territory, in culture terms they share more with Latin America. And Even Miles not being born in Puerto Rico, his puerto rican roots and heritage are clear. 8/B in spanish is nowhere near as bad. As a Brazilian, we speak portuguese, which is a very similar language to Spanish(I myself know a little bit of spanish), but overall, both languages tend to sound very difficult, specially when you're learning in a place that doesn't speak any. Carmen didn't seem to be totally fluent in spanish either since in the Lupe Peligro episode she says her Spanish is getting better. So not fluent, at least in that point in time. Maybe that changes after that so I'll just assume both Miles and Carmen are working on their spanish. Another point is that they are both very smart. Carmen knows her geography and history AND can speak multiple languages and Miles is great at physics AND art, both very different areas from one another. Saying that, Carmen had everything to be a Mary Sue, just like Miles had everything to be a Gary Stu but instead, while they are extraordinary, we also see their weaknesses, flaws and mistakes. On the first two episodes of the first season of Carmen Sandiego and on the first spiderverse movie, we see Black Sheep/Miles Morales transition to becoming Carmen Sandiego/Spider-Man. And on that transition, someone was always by their side...
Both Gwendolyne Stacy(Spider-Woman) (or Gwanda ;) and Graham Calloway(Crackle) have a four letter nickname that starts with G and the protagonist always call them that(Gwen and Gray). Both have a surname that ends with Y. Both are a little bit older than the main character(Gray is two years older than Carmen and Gwen is 15 months older than Miles). Both are trans to a lot of people(I don't actually believe this, I think both Gwen and Gray are cisgender, specially Gwen, because of the comics and because while I think her revelation to her father was made in purpose to resonate and pass as a metaphor for coming out, I believe in the less popular theory that she was an ally and her Peter was actually trans and that is one of the reasons he suffered bullying and Gwen defended him and had that "Protect Trans Kids" poster in her room, this is literally the vibe she passes me:
Some time ago I saw a theory that the relationship of Miles and Gwen was a metaphor for one of the difficulties that interracial couples pass that the most privileged has to learn that the same society system that protects them, won't protect their partner in the same way, and that is shown through the way Spider Society treats Miles and I know there are more black spider people like Hobie and Margo but the parallel still works:he is not being accepted because he is different. The thing is, that theory kinda breaks the trans Gwen theory because if she was trans, sadly, the system wouldn't protect her either. I also don't believe it because of the voice actors. Some years ago, an adult could dub a children if he did the right voice. Nowadays, they cast a voice actor more similar to the character. Like, black characters need to have black voice actors, etc, otherwise they get canceled. And both of the voice actors for Gray and Gwen are cisgender, and I saw people complaining that if the producers wanted to make characters "potentially trans" they should have casted trans voice actors, for both characters. But anyway, I don't mind and respect the people who think they are trans). Both got competition for the other's affection(Gwen has now Spider-Byte and Gray has Ivy, Julia and pretty much everyone you can ship with Carmen in this show, which is a lot of people). Both are the lighter skin love interest not from where the protagonist is(Gray is from Australia and Gwen is from another dimension).
And now with the storyline similarities. Both pairings start as friends, so both lead to a slow burn. Both were an amazing partners in crime duo, working really great as a team, and being just the two of them or even with more people, their connection always stood out. Miles and Carmen never became official members of Spider Society/V.I.L.E. but disagree with them and escape from them to do what they believe is right. Both Gwen and Gray make a mistake and are expelled from Spider Society/V.I.L.E. (Gwen with the portal multiverse dimension go home machine or whatever and Gray by having his memories wiped) and then they realize too late they made a mistake with Miles/Carmen and now have to fix that mistake. Also both Carmen and Miles say "Goodbye Gray/Gwen." in the most DRAMATIC way possible before doing an grand triumphal exit and I love that for them. And the look Gray/Gwen gives them before they leave is THE EXACT SAME LOOK, I SWEAR. So as you can see, both ships leave a room for A LOT of angst and drama. Also just the way they look so fondly at each other and the way both Carmen/Miles and Gray/Gwen look sad when they have to leave or when the other has to leave them says it all. Platonic or not, both couples have an undeniable bond and just work so well together, being as friends, lovers, partners...They are each other's ride or die. They are each other's everything.
(Also just an personal opinion is that both Spiderverse and Carmen Sandiego have the MOST BEAUTIFUL ANIMATION I HAVE EVER SEEN) (Along with the new Miraculous movie) (Ladybug and Chat Noir are also very similar of Carmen and Gray but that's something more noticeable to pretty much everyone, I don't have to elaborate much on that matter) (I've got nothing to say about LadyNoir/MariChat being similar to Red Crackle that hasn't been said before)
The major difference about them is that, while both the Spiderverse movies and the Carmen Sandiego series don't have romance as their main focus, Miles and Gwen will most likely be canon in the films, just like they are in the comics. I think it will be a movie trilogy so they'll probably get together in the third movie(Beyond the Spiderverse in january? Anyway, 2024, save the date). I mean, Spider-Byte is cool and all but she's a game avatar or something so I don't think Miles and her can get together, even if he travels to her universe and decides to stay there or vice versa. They introduced her just now and we barely know anything about her, and Miles and Gwen clearly already have a whole build up story going on with a consistent arc so why mess it up? Besides, I think we need more main interracial couples representation in media. Aside from these two, the only GOOD main interracial couples I can think of are Druig and Makkari from Eternals(I never even watched Eternals and I know they are better than Ikaris and Sersi)(They are also an interracial couple but they clearly don't have the chemestry Drukkari does and Ikaris seems to be kind of a jerk tbh), Ricky and Gina(from HSMTMTS, which I don't watch either but their clips I saw on YouTube are just the cutest thing), Ben and Devi from Never Have I Ever, Daphne and Simon and Kate and Anthony from Bridgerton, and Julie and Luke(Juke) from Julie and The Phantoms(JATP) which is literally an impossible love story since Luke is dead(he's a ghost) and Julie isn't(she's alive) and the series was cancelled(still mad about it and will forever be). My point is:Couples with different ethnicities are not only little but the ones we do have are mostly either impossible to happen, unfairly treated/messed up by writers/not well executed or when treated right, we don't get enough content of them/they are forgotten, in the majority cases, and that needs to change. Anyway...Meanwhile, with Red Crackle, as Carmen Sandiego had a pretty open ending, canon can be whatever the hell you want, and for me is red crackle. That's it. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. Will be posting more "written podcasts" soon.

Its 1 am im thinking about Follows Chalk, ever told yall how much I love Follows Chalk???
Fell in love with that guy the moment I heard his voice and his accent. I'm so familiar with accents like Follows Chalk's accent because I'm Brazilian. When I heard his voice for the first time when playing Honest Hearts I opened the biggest smile ever, everytime I had a dialogue with him I was giggling and everything. Idk I know hes not brazilian or anything but I kinda feel seen?? I just love that guy so much. Sorry FNV fandom but I prefer Follows Chalk over Joshua Graham. He got my heart first

Albums of 2024
no particular order, but this is what I have been enjoying.... I have vertigo from the glut of music, but at the same time, the freedom from any sense that anyone could possibly ever be definitive in their choices any more is a wonderful thing in its way.
Mystery Tiime – Maudlin Tales of Grief and Love
Utter misery in kitchen sink post-punk pop form from Ayman Rostom aka The Maghreban. This one will really get under your skin. My review.
Isabell Gustafsson-Ny – Rosenhagtorn
Beatifully sparse and wonky abstract folk-classical micro-album that feels very real and very raw. My review...
T. Williams – Raves of Future Past
Absolutely faultless collection of bangers, which as the title suggests, go round the houses exploring UK bass genres. Comes with comic and action figure too!
NikNak – Ireti
She wanted to make a soundtrack to a "Black Blade Runner" and by god she did it! Real thrill ride of an album. She was on BMTatR in June...
MOMO – Gira
I'd never come across this now London-based Brazilian guy before but the algorithm flung "Pára" my way, I got completely addicted, then I discovered the video which radiates subtropical heat, then the album and it's been on rotation since. Total pleasure principle stuff.
Gagarin – Komorebi
Yes another BMTatR subject, and yes we tragically lost Graham this year: he did the pics and interview knowing he was dying, but like the interview his last album is a model of stoicism and how to take joy in the moment despite the worst happening.
Amanda Whiting – The Liminality of Her
Can't remember how I stumbled on this Welsh jazz harpist, but her music is the epitome of soft music for hard times. Very lovely indeed.
Meemo Comma – Decimation of I
A bleak ambient concept album about Russian retro-scifi, alien infiltration and planetary consciousness? Aw hell yes, and it's Lara Rix-Martin's best yet. Here she is on BMTatR...
Susanna – Meditations on Love
Another artist growing into themselves year by year, with a fantastically strange set of torch songs. I reviewed it here.
Trendafilka – For the Olives
Definitely wasn't expecting to be bowled over by a Balkan choir from New Orleans but there it is!
Xylitol – Anemones
Cosmic retro jungle with some garage and footworking twists? It all feels familiar but Catherine Backhouse does it with such commitment and panache it just fizzles with life.
Nia Archives – Silence Is Loud
It's jungle, it's hardcore, it's indie, it's PROPER POP, and it's glorious. My review here.
A Taut Line – Restoration
Like a set of haunting short stories or painted vignettes in techno and abstract post-dubstep form, Brit in Tokyo Matt Lyne made his best work yet here.
Rosie Lowe – Lover, Other
Very much more soft music for hard times, but super innovative and stimulating with it, a gorgeous neo-trip hop exploration that I reviewed here.
J Mascis – What Do We Do Now?
Mascis is just an elemental force isn't he? All these years later and he still touches the soul, seemingly effortlessly. My review here...
Deep Fade – Further
PROPER FUCKING DARK, this. Noisy, bleak, scary goth-industrial-ambient from Amanda Votta and her merry crew - she also made the more abstract/ambient Impermanence this year which is just as dark and good.
Nala Sinephro – Endlessness
More jazz harp! This time blended with modular synth bloops. Album number two, and a significant step up for Sinephro, a total balm for the soul through and through...
Hifi Sean & David McAlmont – Daylight
Of course Sean and David were early BMTatR subjects - and their mature and prolific working relationship continues to fascinate. This is how you do an ALBUM album: the mood accumulates and accumulates then the last two tracks are just a dynamite payoff. And bloody hell they've got a follow-up ready just six months later...
Ka – The Thief Next to Jesus
SHAME on me only discovering Ka following his untimely death, but the Brooklyn rapper is just world class - and his 11th album grapples with religion and society in really complex but completely gripping ways.
Alley Cat – The Widow Project
Like I said in my review: "If the names Pinch, Vex’d, Burial, Digital Mystikz, The Bug mean anything to you, stop reading now and buy or stream this album. Seriously, go. Go get it."
Jowee Omicil – SpirituaL HeaLinG : Bwa KayiMan FreedoM Suite
An absolutely wild spontaneous Haitian revolutionary free jazz ritual. Find out about its genesis in my interview.
Becky Hill – Believe Me Now?
Like the Nia Archives album, this is second generation rave pop made by someone who has the culture in their bones, and it's full of undeniable joyous adrenaline rushes and banger upon banger upon banger. My review here.
Doechii – Alligator Bites Never Heal
Showing that there is still room for the old fashioned "did you see??" moment where it seems like everyone is suddenly talking about an artist at once, Doechii absolutely killed it last month with the one-two punch of her Late Show performance and Tiny Desk concert. A megastar in the making, hopefully.
Heavee – Unleash
Chicago's footworking music continues to mature and grow and this super-rich take on it is up there with the very best.
Juls – Peace & Love
Superstar Afrobeats producer broadening his palette and really getting celebratory with a cast of thousands, proper good-times music. I talked about it with him here.
WHY? – The Well I Fell Into
Grandiose grown up radio pop and soft rock somehow perfectly blended into the quirky indietronica and psychedelic hip hop of Yoni Wolf's roots, amazing stuff. My review.
Jeff Mills – The Trip: Enter the Black Hole
This man's work rate is insane. He made TWO great solo albums this year - the more post-classical / minimalist The Eye Witness (which I reviewed here), and this denser, more electronic intense beast of a sci-fi mind-movie. It is indeed a trip.
Manga St Hilaire & MoreNight – Everything is Under Control
It hasn't been a vintage year for grime albums - though shouts to C4, Jammz and a heavyweight 28-track Polish extravaganza from Miły ATZ - but this album is absolutely world class, Manga showing just how grown up the genre can be, and the production from MoreNight giving it a consistency and great dancefloor undercurrent.
Kayla Painter – Fractures
I've consistently enjoyed the Bristolian's strange and spooky electronics, and I am a sucker for solar system exploration, so I was always going to love this tbh.
The Jesus and Mary Chain – Glasgow Eyes
Absolutely boggling the Reid bros are not just surviving but innovating wildly so many years on. My review.
seo – §eo
I am a massive fanboy for Lagos's Eseomo Mayaki - a genuine eccentric in a world of could-be-AI conformity. This and the two volumes of ASSMIX 5000 EP continued her endlessly prolific creative streak. Meet her in this profile I did for the WIRE.
Ganavya – Daughter of a Temple
Bassist, poet, mystic etc etc etc Ganavya gathered 30 musicians together for a RITUAL, partially in tribute to John and Alice Coltrane and their universal visions and oh wow...
Andreas Werliin, Johan Berthling, and Oren Ambarchi – Ghosted II
You can't go wrong with Ambarchi, and just as on the first Ghosted these are some truly outstanding percussiony, geometrical jazz hypno-jams
Jaz Karis – Safe Flight
She's previously collabbed with Katy B and she's on the Juls album above duetting with Ghetts so you know JK is going to be great right? This is UK soul in rude health, in particular benefiting from a dose of amapiano influence which I discussed here...
LL COOL J – The Force
Oh HELL yes you can call it a comeback. And hell yes it is as good as everyone says - both Q Tip's giddily inventive production and LL's flows that outclass all the top ranking guests. My review.
μ-Ziq – Grush
Definitely a good year for Planet Mu with the Meemo Comma, Xylitol and this - label boss Mike Paradinas on absolutely top whimsical, melodic, grooving form.
Jeremy Sylvester – Underground Hero Album
BANGERS BANGERS BANGERS - a good parallel for the T Williams album in getting to the very bone marrow of UK underground sound, and doing it with relentless rave energy. Thanks so much to Chris and Hue of Skill Issue for flagging this up as I had missed it!
Five Green Moons – Moon 1
There's definitely a running theme in these albums of artists maturing - and certainly this album of digital dub / 80s dancehall done in a spooky creatures of the English hedgerows stylee is up there with Justin Robertson's very best work. He was on BMTatR too, and we got fantastically abstract.
Ryuichi Sakamoto – Opus
A painful listen this - literally: you can hear Sakamoto's laboured breathing as he plays piano on this posthumously-released album - but a beautiful one. I wrote about his enduring relationship with the instrument here.
Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft
She may not get the hype that Taylor / Charli / Chappell do in 2024, but artistically Billie E consistently leaves them all in the shade. To have a pop star this big, and this subtly - but intensely - subversive, and also making deep and lush music, is a great thing.
James Hardway - El Camino Duro
Yes we did HIM for BMTatR too - and there's more to come because he's got such an insane wealth of stories. But Harrow NEVER rests on his laurels - this was just one of an album every month in 2024 to mark him turning 60. Some were space dub, some were ambient, but all were great and this jazz, breaks and bass one is a masterpiece.
The Cure – Songs of a Lost World
Given that the last time they were this good they were my favourite band in the world, and I was 16 and full of raging hormones and sad dreams, this return to form hit really hard. My review.
Underworld – Strawberry Hotel
Another band maturing brilliantly, this feels like they're really enjoying just being themselves: just like the lovely sleeve art, it is full of colour and interest in the living detail of things.
Arooj Aftab – Night Reign
More soft music for hard times, more jazz harp, and a whole lot of - as AA describes them - "sad, sexy songs". Music for staring out of windows to, in the best possible way.
Beth Gibbons - Lives Outgrown
Beautifully sung of course, but this album is really about texture and arrangement, it's one to sink deep into and float away...

“You are… Never too young to SMiZE. Never too old to DREAM. And I hope you’ll be doing both with me tomorrow when I rock that @victoriassecret runway again after almost 20 years!”
She went on to encourage fans to reflect on their own dreams, saying, “As I walk, think about YOUR dreams, what YOU want to accomplish. That thing you’ve been doubting about yourself. That thing you’re not sure you are confident enough to accomplish.” This message struck a chord with viewers and echoed throughout the night, setting the tone for a show focused on inspiration and self-belief.
Banks’ triumphant return was part of a star-studded lineup that included other Victoria’s Secret mainstays, such as Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, and Gigi Hadid. Together, they embodied the essence of the new Victoria’s Secret brand: beauty that’s empowering, diverse, and inspiring.
A Star-Studded Runway Full of Familiar Faces and New Icons
In addition to Banks, several high-profile models graced the runway, showcasing their own unique styles and personalities. Each model brought her own story and charisma to the stage, making the event a powerful showcase of beauty in all forms.
Gigi Hadid, who has become a fan favorite, shined brightly as she walked the runway alongside other familiar faces. Known for her dynamic presence and playful energy, Hadid reflected the show’s new vibe: confidence, grace, and relatability. The presence of models like Ashley Graham, known for her advocacy of body positivity, reinforced the message that beauty goes beyond traditional ideals.

Victoria’s Secret’s Journey to Reinvent Itself
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, once a mainstay in the world of fashion, was paused in 2019 amid controversies and changing consumer expectations. At the time, the brand faced significant criticism for a lack of inclusivity, sparking discussions on how the brand could evolve in an era where diversity and representation matter more than ever.
One major turning point came in 2018 when Ed Razek, then Chief Marketing Officer for parent company L Brands, made controversial comments about transgender models, which many found exclusionary. The backlash was swift, with consumers calling for greater inclusivity on the runway. This incident, combined with declining sales and shifting cultural attitudes, led Victoria’s Secret to reevaluate its approach.
In response, the brand launched the VS Collective in 2021, introducing a more diverse and inclusive group of brand ambassadors. These ambassadors included actress and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Brazilian transgender model Valentina Sampaio, and LGBTQIA+ advocate and professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe. The Collective aims to redefine beauty standards by embracing diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities. Victoria’s Secret stated that it wants to inspire customers and align with causes that are meaningful to women everywhere.
The brand also introduced new programs focused on empowering women, creating products that reflect diversity, and producing content that uplifts rather than objectifies. The VS Collective is more than just a marketing tool; it’s a sign that Victoria’s Secret is committed to positive change.

Pitch for Resident Evil 9 (IX):
The Campaigns
1) Jake Muller and Sherry Birkin
2) Carlos Oliveira and Javier Reyes (new character)
3) Alice (new character) and Ashley Graham
/
The Plot
In 2023, Ashley Graham, who is now serving as the United States’ ambassador to Brazil since the events of RE4, visits the city of Rio de Janeiro to attend a conference with Brazil’s president Jose Ferreira. During the conference, terror strikes as the city falls under a bioweapons outbreak. With Ashley trapped, Ingrid Hunnigan contacts Leon S. Kennedy for another rescue mission, but much to her surprise, Leon has gone “off the grid” for reasons unknown (Leon’s story is reserved for the DLC).
Due to Leon’s absence, Hunnigan contacts two other allies to retrieve Ashley; DSO agent Sherry Birkin (recommended by Leon) and C Op Esp operative Carlos Oliveira (only because he was already in Brazil). Sherry also recruits freelance mercenary Jake Muller to help her out.
However, upon arriving at Rio de Janeiro, Sherry, Jake, and Carlos get separated by a zombie horde. Carlos, while on his own, joins forces with police officer Javier Reyes, who was the sole survivor of his unit.
While all this is happening, a woman named Alice wakes up at the bottom of a waterfall. She has lost all her memory, which she assumes happened when she went down the waterfall and hit her head. While wandering around the area, she stumbles upon a destroyed campsite that seems to have been bombed to pieces. Alice then finds a fatally wounded survivor who tells her only one thing before dying; “find Ashley Graham, Alice”. Despite not knowing what that means, Alice sets out to find this Ashley, hoping by doing so, she’ll unlock her memories.
So, RE9’s story can be broken down to this; Jake and Sherry looking for Ashley, Carlos teaming up with local cop Javier after being separated from the group, and Alice teaming up with Ashley despite not knowing who she is and why she’s important.
/
The Campaign Plot Twists
1) Jake and Sherry learn that there is a terrorist group called the Weskerites that are dedicated to accomplishing the late Albert Wesker’s goals. The leader, Raven Romero (imagine Harley Quinn if she was a Resident Evil character), reveals to them that the Weskerites assisted the masterminds behind the outbreak. Raven manages to escape the city despite Jake and Sherry’s best efforts to kill her (Raven becomes a recurring villain in future games).
2) Carlos and Javier learn that President Jose Ferreira was part of the conspiracy behind the zombie outbreak in Rio de Janeiro. They learn that he was planning on using the event as a false flag operation to ensure his re-election since he had become massively unpopular (something along the lines of blaming foreign terrorists for the outbreak). Jose is killed by Carlos and Javier after he injects himself with a Tyrant-type virus that was given to him by the actual masterminds.
3) Alice and Ashley learn that the Connections (the group that Mia Winters was part of) supplied the virus to the masterminds. The Connections’ representative, a South Korean drug trafficker named Oh Jin-seok, reveals that the reason why the outbreak happened was that the Brazilian military bombarded their camp (the destroyed campsite that Alice woke up to). When Ashley and Alice asks Jin-seok who bought the virus from Connections, that’s when we get the MAIN plot twist.
/
The MAIN Plot Twist
Oh Jin-seok reveals that the masterminds are a man named Solomon…and his sister Alice. That’s when Alice remembers who she is; her full name is Alice Saddler and she is the granddaughter of the late Osmund Saddler. She and her older brother Solomon are the new leaders of Los Illuminados, which we learn has been slowly rebuilding themselves after the events of RE4.
Alice and Solomon formed the plan with the Weskerites, the Connections, and President Ferreira to start an outbreak in Rio de Janeiro. The reason; to avenge their grandfather. The only reason why they chose Rio was because they timed it with Ashley Graham’s visit to the city. They also assumed that by putting Ashley in danger, they could lure Leon S. Kennedy out as well. All this death and destruction was solely to kill Leon and Ashley for revenge.
However, at some point, Alice had a change of heart. Deciding that the deaths of thousands just to avenge Osmund Saddler wasn’t worth it, Alice tried to stop the operation. Unbeknownst to Alice, the Brazilian government had already found out about the Saddlers’ plans. This led to the destruction of the Connections camp and Alice being thrown down a waterfall and losing her memory.
(NOTE: The reason why the Brazilian government found out about Los Illuminados’ plans is also explained in a DLC)
The finale is a confrontation with Solomon Saddler, the game’s true main villain. Alice, Ashley, Jake, Sherry, Carlos, and Javier all have to work together to stop Solomon in a multi-stage final showdown. Solomon is, of course, defeated and the outbreak is eventually put under control by the combined efforts of the Brazilian military, Blue Umbrella and the BSAA. The game ends with the six survivors being flown out of the city, with Ashley promising to Alice that they can put her in the witness protection program.
/
DLCs
1) For my Family: Set 3 years before RE7, Mia Winters and Oh Jin-seok are sent by Connections to deal with a minor outbreak caused by one of their clients. Mia and Jin-seok later learn that the outbreak was deliberately caused by Alice and Solomon Saddler to test the viruses. At the end of the DLC, we cut to a few hours after RE7, with Mia in an interrogation room with DSO agents. She agrees to become an informant in exchange for the safety of herself, Ethan, and Rose. With Mia Winters’ intel, the US government informs the Brazilian government about the Saddlers’ operation, leading to the bombardment and Alice losing her memory.
2) Off the Grid: Taking place simultaneously with RE9, Leon S. Kennedy goes off the grid in order to help Ada Wong with a mission in Papua New Guinea. Ada had tracked down one of Albert Wesker’s abandoned lab sites and needed Leon’s help to infiltrate it. At the end of the DLC, Leon and Ada learn that this facility was holding the corpse of Steve Burnside (from Code Veronica), which has been well-preserved. Ada then ponders if they can revive Steve.
/
Special Notes
1) Alice, in case it wasn’t obvious, is loosely based on the Alice from the live-action movies.
2) I imagined the game to be a third-person shooter along the lines of the remakes (and The Last of Us).
3) The 3 campaigns are distinctly different from one another in terms of gameplay; Jake and Sherry have special powers / Carlos and Javier are normal people / Alice can fight while Ashley only has defense since she’s a noncombatant.
4) Technically speaking, despite the return of several previous characters from different installments, this game is a direct sequel to RE4.
5) Raven Romero and Oh Jin-seok survive the game. They become the new “Big Bads” of Resident Evil, similar to how Albert Wesker was the Big Bad up until RE5.
6) Raven Romero’s name is a reference to George A. Romero.

so i posted for sharks and sugar yesterday! let’s go over some of the lore together, because some of you aren’t in the discord server (and this knowledge has been buried for a year or so, now)
let’s talk about luka and felix 🥰
felix is PV felix but my version of PV :)
i headcanon that the graham-de-vanillas are brazilian, which makes adrien half brazilian too. so they’re slightly tanner than in canon, which is why i always write adrien’s skin as “tan” or sometimes even “brown” (i do that in other au’s too). felix is a dirty-blonde, almost brown haired, and box-dyes into the platinum blonde that he actually has in the pv. kitty helps him dye it :) either her or luka.
emilie is (was) a globo actress along with her sister, and the two of them got really famous. gabriel met her when she went to a fashion week in paris as a guest, and ended up becoming his muse. it’s kind of like a tom brady / giselle situation if you squint. i imagine emilie is (was) as famous as giselle.
i’m actually not sure what to do, because i’m torn about making felix adrien’s cousin or adrien’s uncle. this makes no difference in the end of it all, but considering that emilie and amilie are twins and emilie died(?) relatively young, that would theoretically be difficult for felix to be in his 30s. i did the math at some point and i’m too lazy to redo it. i’ll sit on this some more. but i do like the idea of just a little brother who decided to go to college in paris and got to house at his older sisters house for a bit. that’s super normal in brazil.
felix is married to bridgette cheng (surprise) who is marinette’s cousin, and met her as an exchange student in college. her cousin is in her late 30s, so to tease her with her age, sometimes marinette will call her “auntie”. i’m imagining that felix stayed with gabriel and emilie for a few semesters before being inhaled by the cheng family, so he was there for adrien’s birth.
ever since emilie passed away / whatever it is, gabriel has been no-contact with anyone on her side of her family. even before then, gabriel didn’t like felix being there (europeans are very different than brazilians in terms of family politics), so he was pushed out pretty early. adrien doesn’t remember any of it because he was a toddler. adrien does remember he has an uncle felix… i was going to put a dialogue tag somewhere in this chapter where adrien mentions he has an uncle named felix, but again, i couldn’t decide if he’s an uncle or a cousin, so i left that out.
felix has been trying to get back in contact with his cousin/nephew ever since gabriel pushed him out of the house, but it’s been impossible.
felix and bridgette have a daughter together. she’s a toddler. her name is antonietta, which is the portuguese version of antoinette. felix calls his baby ‘nietta.
felix knows that marinette is lady noire, because he’s a part of the cheng family and the chengs know that they take care of the miraculous box. he calls her “gatta-porrada”, which is the equivalent of “hitty-kitty”. i headcanon this because this is probably the superhero name he suggested to her when she found out that she had the cat miraculous, not the ladybug, and it was probably the only thing that made her laugh that week after sobbing so much her ears were ringing. it is the lamest superhero name. he is so proud of being the only person in the family to make her laugh even for a little bit.
felix, however, does not know that adrien is mister bug.
luka does.
luka finds out in a situation such as wishmaker where he finds out both of their identities at the same time, and keeps quiet, but let’s them both know about the issue. luka and marinette and juleka are childhood best friends (exactly the same lore as 4am) so if adrien hadn’t existed in her life, luka and marinette would’ve been endgame. the two of them are impossible. felix takes care of luka juleka and kitty as if he’s a responsible tio. luka makes sure to pull marinette out of situations she can’t handle. marinette is just there to cause continuous problems.
adrien is really grateful that luka knows. at least someone does. luka also knows that lady noire has been sneaking into adrien’s bedroom practically every night, because marinette has told him. and adrien has, too. just in case.
i think that’s everything 🫣

Tragic endings of famous people who did not control their tongues.
*John Lennon (Singer):*
Some years ago, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
'Christianity will end, it will disappear.
I do not have to argue about that.. I am certain.
Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him' (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.
*Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):*
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God could remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before his inauguration as President and he died.
*Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):**
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),
while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:
'God, that's for you.'
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible way.
*The man who built the Titanic:*
After the construction of the Cruise Ship, Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be.
He said:
'Not even God can sink it'
The result: The Titanic sank'.
*Marilyn Monroe (Actress):*
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: 'I don't need your Jesus'.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment
*Bon Scott (Singer):*
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'.
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.
*Campinas (IN 2005):*
In Campinas , Brazil, a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend.....
The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends. And she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.'
She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, 'Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full '
Hours later, news came that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died.
No one could not recognize what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact.
To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken
*Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer):*
She said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst Book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her car.
So *control your tongues and be careful about what you say.
*Repent for every rudeness, careless word, dirty jokes, vulgar language, swearing, lies, curses, gossip, slanders, insults and accusations.
*Everyone will have to give an account on judgement day for every careless word spoken.
*Let your words be always gracious, comforting, beneficial, encouraging and inspiring to others.
*Then you will have favor and honor with God and men. You will also be *well respected and admired. *And you will have good health, long life, prosperity and blessings.
*There is no other Name that was given so much authority as the Name of Jesus Christ.*
Jesus Christ died and rose again, and He is still alive....
Jesus said:
'If you are ashamed about Me, I will also be ashamed about you before My Father. (God)
If you reject Me I will also reject you. If you honor Me, I will honor you".- Luke 9:-26
