So I found an audiobook for a book series I was really into when I was younger. So I did some doodles from memory to see what I remembered of it. A lot of it is off but I'm pretty sure I got the vibes right!

the town he lived in wasn't that big, but it was adjacent to a road that a lot of truckers took, so the possibility of customers after 12 am wasn't small. brandon thought that he was a pretty positive and approachable person but it was annoying when people walked in two minutes before they closed and expected to be served. it would be one thing if those customers were nice, but they were usually entitled assholes who ordered way too much, and expected it to be done in three minutes when he was just about to close and had started cleaning up in the hopes no one else would arrive. the girl who had just stepped into the diner, did not look like the usual clientele he had this late, but he did recognize her.

brandon saw the tears in her eyes, and he was confused as to what was happening, then the girl started stuttering out, and he realized something was wrong. "hey, that's okay." brandon said reassuringly, brandon stepped a little closer to her so he wasn't that far away from her, but didn't want to step too close, because the girl already looked pretty spooked. "are you okay? what's happening, is someone following you?" he asked, wondering if he should get the bat and lock the door or something. he could only imagine the worst when a crying girl came into your diner at 01:58 am. "do you need me to call someone?" the girl clearly needed some help, and brandon wanted to help.

Townieville!

A little project that was supposed to be just for fun, but felt so cool I decided to give it a little more character, make it CC-free and share it.

I adore the original townies of the base game. At some point I noticed that some of the adults share similarities with teens and kids - so I figured out how to merge them into whole families, based on their shared face templates, genetics and/or last names. Sadly, some last names were lost in the process, so I kept a few of them alive in street names.

And there are two things that annoy me about this town. First, FIVE (5) Sims use the 7th face template (Marylena, Melissa, teen Ivy, Orlando and Chandler). Second, the names Ivy and Orlando are doubled. But well, they're townies originally!

There are 12 families, that's quite a lot for a starting neighborhood, but many of them are single Sims (often single parents), so they have the potential to merge.

The families:

Bendett-LeTourneau Marisa Bendett and her daughters Sophie and Meadow, Brandi LeTourneau and her kids Alvin and Chloe.

GilsCarbo Goopy GilsCarbo is married to Marylena Hamilton (now GilsCarbo) and they have a teenage daughter named Ivy.

Cox Kennedy, Melissa and their two sons: Orlando and Chandler. They own a dog named Otis. Chandler is not Kennedy's biological son, see Melissa's memories for details.

Copur Ivy Copur and her roommate Abhijeet Deppiesse.

Tellerman Jan living alone, next door to her brother Komei.

Tellerman Komei, Christy and their daughter Brittany. There's a new baby on the way!

Centowski Orlando and Ricky living alone as teenagers after both their parents passed away.

Sims Benjamin Cox (Kennedy's brother), his fiancé Amin Sims, and their cat Heidi.

Sims Joe Sims (Amin's brother) and his daughter Marsha.

Lillard Brandon and his a lot younger sister Tosha.

Hogan Andrea and her teenage son Randy.

Bruty Sandy.

Other population notes: Anything other than the Pleasantview game folder has been cleared out of character files, so there are no vanilla pets, social groups, garden club members etc. All service Sims are Maxis because they belong in the Pleasantview folder. The only typically Maxis pets are Otis and Heidi that are replicas of the original adoption pool pets made in CAS. Other pets have been spawned completely fresh. Since the townies are now playables, I made a few townie children, teens and adults. They are CAS Bin Sims. There's also the founder Sim that I needed as the first playable to spawn all the townies on the lot (his name is Deighton Freeman) and Nerissa Bee who's supposed to be the clothing store owner. This neighborhood has no subhoods. Feel free to add them if needed.

Genetics I fixed all "dyed hair" genetics, so e.g. Brandi LeTourneau now has brown hair genetically. I also gave everyone recessive genes, so they're not homozygous.

Townieville landscape: Made on the Sedona map but in lush, the town gives (as one of my viewers pointed out) the Blue Ridge Mountains vibe! So it could be located in North Carolina or Virginia.

All the houses are Maxis, just furnished by me. Some of them have been reconstructed on the inside so the families have enough space. Four families live in an apartment building that I built from scratch.

There are many needed community lots: a town pool, a clothing store, a convenience store, a game arcade, a tiny bistro, a park, a graveyard. Some of them are built by me and some are Maxis lots from the bin (often edited by me). There's also a lake beach on the hill, close to the Sims family.

The town revolves around a big hospital building where Brandi and Marisa work as doctors.

VERSION 2!!! Townieville's download has been updated. I edited some Sims' age* and gave them fewer skills (looked more closely into all Sims in that matter). Also the Hogan family didn't have a phone and a working kitchen counter because duhh. If you haven't started playing yet before 30 Sep 2024, I recommend redownloading! Actually, 17 October is the PROPER download. On 30 Sep I uploaded my already played neighborhood due to confusing folders 😅

*at first, I managed their age according to my custom lifespan, but then decided to go all Maxis, especially that it looked as if some Sims weren't aging (they were, but the age display didn't show any progress because it can only go so far as 29 days away).

Chapter 4: Crazy shit happens

A girl named Ivy and her boyfriend, Dennis, walked through the halls talking about the new korean kid. It wasn’t such a big deal but it gave them things to talk about.

Min, Aimee, and Sofi had turned out to be great friends after their last encounter, and were now chatting on what to do together after school. They have decided to stay over one of each other's houses.. But they haven't decided which house to stay in yet.

Suddenly Ivy slammed her hand down on the table. Which the trio looked over in surprise. Dennis looked at Ivy a bit concerned.

“Stay over at my house.” Ivy said, her face was a bit red. Aimee blinked as she looked at Ivy, before then leaping from her chair and hugging Ivy. “Ivy!” Ivy was actually Aimee's friend. Somehow. Ivy patted her back then replying, “Bonjour Aimee” Min rolled his eyes. “Also we’ll pass..” Min replied in an annoyed tone.

Dennis nodded. “Makes sense.. We or well she did ask out of the blue and.. Only one of you doesn't know us.” Dennis glanced at Min, who scoffed. Sofi rubbed Min’s shoulder, “Min, this is Dennis Rain and Ivy Wallflower” Min raised a brow. “Ivy? Like poison Ivy from marvel or some shit?”

Ivy’s face turned red. Dennis grabbed her shoulders and gently patted her. Which calmed her down a bit.. “Ivy.. is a bit short tempered..” Dennis said a bit nervously. “And her height.” Min grinned. Sofi blinked. “Damn-”

Soon Felix came out of nowhere and grabbed Min’s shoulder. “Come with me” Min just stared for a bit before following.

And that's how Min joined football.

And he did not like it.

And so here he was, at Dennis’s house, along with the Wolfe gang.

Ethan was in the far corner crying because they had the show Heartstopper playing on the TV. Ivy chose it out, she knew Ethan was terrified of gay people, so she was just dying from laughing at Ethan. Min was actually enjoying this whole shit. While on the couch, Carver was sitting by as Felix was sitting by Min. Felix just looked a bit bothered by the show. And surprisingly, Brandon, who was there, was helping Aimee learn english. Dennis had gotten up to go get chips and drinks. Sofi was sitting on a comfy bean bag chair texting her boyfriend while also glancing at the TV.

Dennis came back into the living room as he noticed Ivy bullying Ethan. “Ivy. Stop being rude to our guests.” Ivy scoffed as she rolled her eyes as she walked away and sat in a quite comfy chair. “He’s being a chicken! Not my fault that he’s ‘scared’ of gay people.” Ivy crossed her arms as she scowled. Ethan just rocked in the corner. Brandon patted Ethan’s back. “It’ll be fine Ethan, plus the show is just based off of a book, it's not real-”

“It's Based oN A BOOK?!?!?!?” he shrieked. Min was just recording everything. Aimee just went over to Ethan and pulled him into a hug. “There there” everyone just got quiet for some reason. Dennis just sighed, “At least everyone here is getting comfortable with each other” Felix just glanced at Carver, as he glanced back at Felix. Felix just looked at Sofi. “Wanna summon a demon Sofi?” Sofi then put down her phone, before thinking.. Min replied before Sofi did, “Demons don't exist.” Min didn’t believe in demons or spirits, despite having supernatural powers. Sofi grinned at Min, “Oh you have no idea.” Ivy nodded, “Mix you’re funny.” Felix just rolled his eyes as he took out a book. Dennis blinked, “Well… I guess it wouldn’t hurt to summon one, plus.. What could go wrong?” Felix patted Dennis' shoulder. “Smart choice” Min just groaned. Everyone apparently didn’t care what Min had to say.

“So what are we summoning?” Ivy asked as she raised a brow. Felix was going through his book as he hummed quietly. “Depends..”

Aimee moved away from Ethan as she hummed as she thought for a bit. “What if we summon Monkia?” She just had an innocent smile. Min blinked, “From Doki Doki literature club?” Aimee nodded happily.

Felix shrugged. “Sure”

And so here they are, they made a summoning circle, Min refused to be a part of it, so he was standing in the corner.

They were holding hands by the circle as they began speaking in a different language.

Soon the circle started sparking and glowing.

And for some reason they had a laptop in the middle of the circle with the game open. Suddenly.

The lights went off and the distorted sound of the theme song played loudly. And the light turned back on. Aimee glanced around and there was Monika. Monika just smiled sweetly at Aimee.. That was the thought... Aimee blinked before she could speak, Monika then said, “Oh! I’m so glad that I can finally meet you!” She spoke happily as she held Min’s face. Min just got even more concerned as he backed away. “Oh hell no-”

Felix closed the book as he looked where Monika and Min were. Min then shoved Felix away and ran out of the room.

Min quickly ran upstairs as he then noticed someone crawling through the window. He paused as he just stood there staring. The girl paused as she stared at Min.

“What are you doing?”

“Uh… girl scout cookies.”

Min just stared in pure disbelief and confusion. That was until Monika started chasing Min around the house.

“Put her back! Put her back!” Aimee yelled.

Felix nodded and he started speaking in a different language.

Min immediately ran through the circle and quickly wrapped his arms around Felix and got behind him.. when Monika froze in the circle. Slowly Monika screamed and went back into the laptop.

Brandon blinked slowly. “What the shit?”

“Get off of me.” Felix said with an annoyed face as he glanced at Min. Min stayed behind Felix for a few more minutes. “Is she gone?” He then looks around. Sofi nodded, “yeah, she's gone.. don't worry-”

“I'm going to worry-” Min then backed away from Felix as he let go of him. Felix just sighed.

They turned around as they noticed the girl still there. Dennis blinked, “Is going to call the police? No? Alright..”

She cleared her throat as she bowed, “My name is Kageki.. Nice to meet you”

Kageki smiled a bit.

Min blinked, “Nice to meet you Kageki..”

Sofie hummed as she shaked Kageki's hand. “My name is Sofi”

Dennis' eye twitched, “Seriously.. Is no one going to call the police??” Ivy just shrugged. “Apparently not”

Felix and Kageki both glanced at each other.. Weird.

Kageki had left after a bit.. And now everyone was getting ready for night or well.. Sleeping. Dennis was a rich kid, not as rich as Felix though, but he had a lot of guest bedrooms.

Carver and Ethan share a room, Sofi and Aimee share one, Brandon luckily got one alone.. Dennis and Ivy happily shared one.. And unluckily.. Felix and Min had to share one. And they were not happy about it.

Min glared at Felix as he slowly sat down on a chair that was in the corner. Felix had gotten in the bed.

It had been an hour since they had fallen asleep, well.. Except for Felix. He was just on his phone when Min then caught his attention. He was shivering. Felix rolled his eyes as he slowly got out of bed, bringing a blanket over with him.. Felix then covered Min up with that blanket. Min soon stopped shivering and hummed in his sleep. Felix stood there for a bit watching him breathe quietly. Felix realized that this was probably creepy. So he quickly walked back to the bed as he covered himself up and went to sleep.

Min quickly opened his eyes.

He couldn’t breathe.

Min gasped for air

Min’s leaden lungs suppressed any efforts he made to inhale. Nothing worked, he sat there in his chair struggling to breath. His vision becomes blurry every second.. His lungs felt like they were being squeezed and not letting go.

He couldn’t even let out a sound, Felix slept through everything. Min’s eyes start to water.

Min was soon able to breathe as he gasped for air, he trembled as he breathed heavily.. If you had looked at him now, he’d look like he had woken up from a nightmare. Unfortunately for him, it was real. He never understood why this was happening, all he knew was that it started two years after his mom had passed.

It took Min a few minutes to realize that there was a blanket over him.. Min then glanced over at the bed.

He didn’t care if he was going to get yelled at by Felix.. He was tired.. So he went to sleep.

He was exhausted.

Prologue

Well.. here we are... A reboot of the wolf and crystal.. and it's on here..

Min was sleeping soundly as he soon woke up as he let out a noise, he looked at the window by his bed.. It was still dark out, but surely enough the sky was partly dark blue.. It was soon becoming daylight. Min squealed in excitement as he quickly got off the bed, soon tripping over a toy he had left on the floor, he didn’t really seem to care as he then got back up and scurried off again.

“Mama! Papa! Mama! Papa! Mama!” Min ran towards his parents room, but then stopped as he heard coughing.. he listened in.

“You need to stay in bed Azalea.. It's getting worse..” A pause..

Another cough..

“I can’t David.. it's his fourth birthday.. And I have chores to do..”

Another horrible cough..

“Azalea-”

Min slowly came in as both of his parents turned towards him, “Is Mama okay?..” he looked at them worried.. Azalea smiled sweetly at him, “yes sweetie, I just have a small cold.. Don’t worry, go back to bed and I'll wake you up..” Min looked at David who then looked at him as he smiled, “how about we go camping this weekend?” Min’s eyes widened, “Yeah!” he raised his hands in the air happily. “Now go back to bed, it's too early” Min nodded as he quickly ran off back to his room.

“Min Mateo Crystal! Come here right now! You little stinker!” Azalea yelled as she chased her 3 year old around the back yard. Min squealed as he was soon picked up and reached for his mom. “Mama!” Azalea giggled as she kissed all over his face. Min smiled more as he hugged his mom.

“I love you my little rosebud..” Azalea said as she kissed her son’s cheek.. “I loaf you too Mama!” Azalea laughed lightly, as she sat him down, who soon ran towards a man that had left the house and into the backyard, “Papa!” Min shouted as he then clinged to his leg. “Welcome back Jagi” She looks at him ‘my dear’ Azalea smiled a bit as her husband then picked up Min who giggled as he hugged his dad. David chuckled as he glanced at Azalea, “I have no idea how you can deal with this kid all day” Azalea just grinned as she then replied, “He’s very easy to take care of” Min blinked as he looked at his two parents he threw his hands in the air. “Presents!” Azalea chuckled, “Oh i know my little rosebud, first cake and Icecream, Then presents” She ruffled Min’s head as his hair went poofy as he giggled.

Azalea sighed, “Let's get set up..”

It was raining outside after a while..

“I wish for mama's cold to go away!” Min said as he blew out his candle.. Azalea pulled her son into a tight hug.. “Salanghaeyo!” ‘I love you’ Min beamed as he hugged her back..

Life After Christmas

Life with Duke and Ava after Christmas was starting to feel like a fresh chapter. Despite the tumultuous months behind them, things seemed to be slowly falling into place. Although Duke is not officially back home, he comes over frequently, creating a mix of relief and cautious optimism to their household.

Duke had taken a break from the league, giving him an unexpected but welcome chance to focus on his family. Brandon, for one, couldn’t be happier. The weekend visits had been nice while they lasted, but they never felt like enough. Now, with Duke unofficially home full-time, the two were making up for lost time. Whether it was shooting hoops or building epic pillow forts in the living room, their bond was flourishing in a way Ava hadn’t seen in years.

With Duke and Brandon so wrapped up in their adventures, Ava was finally able to spend more uninterrupted time with baby Khloe. Ms. Nancy, their ever-reliable nanny, was thrilled to take a much-needed vacation, leaving Ava to cherish these moments on her own. It reminded her of the early days—before life got so complicated.

Duke had also surprised Ava by stepping up in ways she didn’t expect. When he noticed a leaky faucet in the kitchen, he didn’t wait for her to call a plumber; he grabbed his toolbox and got to work. When dinner was over, instead of leaving his plate on the table as usual, he rolled up his sleeves and helped with the dishes. Ava couldn’t help but chuckle to herself, realizing she couldn’t remember the last time she’d seen him do that.

The best part, though, was the time Duke and Ava were spending together. They’d started playing board games and going to the arcade like they used to in college.

But it wasn’t all perfect. They hadn’t yet addressed the elephant in the room: Duke’s lingering connection to Ivy. The hurt and mistrust from his past infidelity were still there, a quiet undercurrent beneath their newfound joy. Yet for the first time in a long time, Ava felt hope. They were talking, laughing, rebuilding—not just their relationship but the foundation of their family.

Could this really be it? Was their past finally behind them? Ava wasn’t sure yet but she allowed herself to believe it might be. One day at a time, she thought. One step closer to healing.

Been thinking about how, actual political stances notwithstanding, half the reason Donald Trump got so popular is because he's the only guy in politics who's in tune with the interests of the lower class, primed by his years of tv celebrity.

Every other major politician is part of a self sucking echo chamber of pretentious ivy league douchebags who have spent so long enshrined in a completely self contained echelon of society that the only way they know how to do a publicity stunt is through some charity event or press conference, rattling off a laundry list of prewritten talking points that serve to obfuscate the fact that they don't intend to do anything differently. "Refined" displays that the average American's myopic, belligerent incuriosity, taught and learned as a mechanism of suppressing any form of class consciousness, renders completely ineffectual.

Trump, on the other hand, knows exactly the kind of rhetorical gestures that resonate with the average checked out apolitical (the bulk of the country) types. The enormous McDonalds dinner in the White House dining room, Covid checks with his name on them, the Tiktok unban, his constant twitter dunks. He was on Smackdown for god's sake! "Low class" "vulgar" cultural signifiers just radiate off this guy. Someone once pejoratively called him the poor man's vision of a rich man, but that just makes him the only politician that resembles his constituency.

AOC and some of her coterie are testing similar ground with their presence on places like twitch or instagram, but it just doesn't compare. The man ran completely roughshod over a field of barely animated bones stretched ghoulishly over skin (both sides), twice(!), by having just a fucking ounce of charisma and recognizing that 70% of the country starts blowing raspberries and making jerkoff motions whenever his opponents start speaking.

Other more well versed communists than I have stated that the only thing that really sets him apart from the average US president is that he doesn't bother with the usual decorum that's expected of the position - all the pretentious fanfare and play pretend of humoring the notion that US national politics are anything more than pocket lining and international politics are anything more than empire building - and I think not only that, but that he's completely changed the game.

The era of politician as celebrity is upon us, farce like you've never seen it. Joe Biden tried and failed when he coopted the Dark Brandon meme, but the next dem to sit in the oval office is going to have gotten there off the backs of World Series opening pitches and McDonalds commercials.

Ivy doesn't even know how she remembers that Joe's is open until 2am. It's been years since she went anywhere that late. She goes, once a week, to enjoy a burger and a shake, to treat herself. Never this late, more of a dinner ritual that she enjoys. But her feet seem to carry her there, automatically. It's not the logical choice to make. Call the cops, call her parents, do something. But she finds herself stepping into the restaurant, tears pooling in her eyes, feeling her heart beat erratically, like it's about to jump out from underneath her dress.

He won't follow her in here. He is unpredictable, but would never do something to paint himself in a bad light, if anybody else is around. She knows that. She tries to stay in semi busy places (not too crowded otherwise she'll get anxious), and tries to not go out at night by herself. But Ivy couldn't sleep, she thought a drive through drink would soothe her, a drive around the block. She hadn't had to worry about her ex for months, but now she was standing in the harsh lighting of the restaurant, clutching her car keys so hard, there was a possible indent on her soft inner palm.

"S-sorry, I know y-your about to shut, I just.." Ivy's shoulders shake a little too hard, trying to suck back tears. "I didn't know what else to do, I'm sorry."

open to: f plot: brandon works at a fast food restaurant to pay his w, he’s just about to close up when someone enters the restaurant at the last minute. who is it? connections: stranger, friend, ex, robber, fwb or something else. brandon was working the late shift at “joe’s burger”. there were only two minutes left till closing and it was usually dead the last thirty minutes before they closed at 2am. so empty that he was the only one left. at the busiest they were at least ten at work. but during these late hours on a wednesday night it was just him. he couldn’t complain though, it was an easy job, flip some burgers, put some fries in the deep fryer. brandon loved cooking, so this was a cake walk. cake… he should bake a cake this weekend. as the thoughts ran through his head, he heard the door and he sighed to himself. why did people have to come in at the last minute, he was looking forward to going home as fast as possible and sleeping since he had a class at 10 am. “welcome to joe’s burger, what can i get you?” brandon said to the unknown shadow that had just entered the restaurant.
