I know I'm probably a weirdo for this, but one day I got to thinking, what if Pokemon was lingually accurate? Like, if characters were named appropriately based on their region? So I actually went through Bulbapedia and compiled a list of every major character's names in other languages. And just in case anyone else was curious, I thought I'd share it.
I'm going from the English base, so I'm majorly not including Unova, Galar, and most of Alola. Ones that are weird or are migrants I give explanations for.
Kanto: Japanese
Red: Same in English and Japanese
Leaf: Same in English and Japanese
Blue: Technically referred to as Green in Japanese since the original games were Red and Green (hence remakes being FireRed and LeafGreen), but is considered Blue internationally and it makes more sense to me (Red picks Charmander, rival picks Squirtle to be better, thus Blue).
Kakeru (Chase)
Ayumi (Elaine)
Shin (Trace)
Takeshi (Brock)
Kasumi (Misty)
Lt. Surge: His original title is "The Lightning American" and there's a whole tribute gym to his in Alola, so it's very likely he's from an America-inspired region, thus English name.
Erika: Same in English and Japanese
Kyou (Koga)
Anzu (Janine)
Natsume (Sabrina)
Katsura (Blaine)
Kanna (Lorelei)
Siba (Bruno)
Kikuko (Agatha)
Wataru (Lance)
Rocket-dan (Team Rocket): Literally written in katakana "ro-ke-t(su)-to"
Sakaki (Giovanni)
Ohkido Yukinari-hakase (Professor Samuel Oak)
Johto: Japanese
Hibiki (Ethan)
Kris: Same in English and Japanese
Kotone (Lyra)
Silver: Same in English and Japanese
Hayato (Falkner)
Tsukushi (Bugsy)
Akane (Whitney)
Matsuba (Morty)
Shijima (Chuck)
Mikan (Jasmine)
Yanagi (Pryce)
Ibuki (Clair)
Itsuki (Will)
Karin (Karen)
Minaki (Eusine)
Apollo (Archer)
Athena (Arianna)
Lambda (Petrel)
Lance (Proton): Yes, this is confusing with the Indigo Champion's English name being Lance.
Utsugi-hakase (Professor Elm)
Hoenn: Japanese
Yuuki (Brendan)
Haruka (May)
Mitsuru (Wally)
Tsutsuji (Roxanne)
Touki (Brawly)
Tessen (Wattson)
Asuna (Flannery)
Senri (Norman)
Nagi (Winona)
Fū (Tate)
Lan (Liza)
Juan: His Japanese name is Adan, but he uses different foreign words by localization (English in Japanese, Spanish in Viz's anime dub, and French in the Adventures manga's translation) so is likely foreign. Juan is his name in English, German, and French.
Mikuri (Wallace) Rune no Tami (Sootopolitan)
Kagetsu (Sidney)
Fuyou (Phoebe)
Glacia: Her name in Japanese is Prim, but she's implied to be from a more Western-based region. Glacia is her name in both English and French.
Genji (Drake)
Tsuwabuki Daigo (Steven Stone)
Datsura (Noland) Factory Head: Same in English and Japanese
Kogomi (Greta) Arena Captain (Arena Tycoon)
Tucker: Implied to be foreign, especially as his Japanese name is Heath. Tucker is his English name, and most other Romantic translations are loosely similar and come from the respective languages' word for "tactics". Dome Superstar (Dome Ace)
Azami (Lucy) Tube Queen (Pike Queen)
Ukon (Spenser) Palace Guardian (Palace Maven)
Jindai (Brandon) Pyramid King: Same in English and Japanese
Lila (Anabel) Tower Tycoon (Salon Maiden)
Higana (Zinnia) Denshousha (Lorekeeper)
Lutia (Lisia) Lutti (Lissi)
Tylulu (Ali): Lisia's Altaria
Magma-dan (Team Magma): Literally written in katakana "ma-gu-ma"
Matsubusa (Maxie)
Kagari (Courtney)
Homura (Tabitha)
Aqua-dan (Team Aqua): Literally written in katakana "a-ku-a"
Aogiri (Archie)
Ushio (Matt)
Izumi (Shelly)
Odomaki-hakase (Professor Birch)
Sinnoh: Japanese
Kouki (Lucas)
Hikari (Dawn)
Jun (Barry)
Hyouta (Roark)
Natane (Gardenia)
Sumomo (Maylene)
Maximum Mask (Crasher Wake): Maybe a little more clearly than the English name, it's a stage name and his real name is unknown. He's called "Maxi" for short, so it could just be that.
Fantina or Kiméra: Her name in Japanese is Melissa, which is a clearly Western name along with using foreign phrases. The difficulty here is in original Japanese (as well as French, logically) she speaks English, while most other localizations she speaks French. Fantina is her name in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Kiméra is her name in French.
Suzuna (Candice)
Denzi (Volkner)
Ryou (Aaron)
Kikuno (Bertha)
Ōba (Flint)
Goyou (Lucian)
Shirona (Cynthia)
Kurotsugu (Palmer) Tower Tycoon: Same in English and Japanese
Neziki (Thorton) Factory Head: Same in English and Japanese
Dahlia: Same in English and Japanese Roulette Goddess (Arcade Star)
Kokuran (Darach): His Lady may be likely Unovan, but his lineage is never specified and he seems to have a Hisuian ancestor, so him being from Sinnoh is likely, hence Japanese name. Castle Butler (Castle Valet)
Argenta or Kate: Kate is her name in Japanese and is clearly Western. Argenta is her name in English, German, and Spanish. Stage Madonna (Hall Matron)
Momi (Cheryl)
Gen (Riley)
Baku (Buck)
Miru (Mira)
Mai (Marley)
Looker: Honestly, I just prefer Looker because it seems smoother to say as a codename than his Japanese codename which is Handsome. Looker also has the double meaning that Handsome doesn't, like he's looking/watching, because he's a detective. Looker is also his name in Portuguese, and sometimes in German, Spanish, and Italian. Every one of his codenames is a reference to his appearance ex. LeBelle in German and Beladonis in French.
Ginga-dan (Team Galaxy)
Akagi (Cyrus)
Mars: Same in English and Japanese
Jupiter: Same in English and Japanese
Saturn: Same in English and Japanese
Pluto (Charon)
Nanakamado-hakase (Professor Rowan)
Hisui: Japanese
Teru (Rei) Chō satai (Survey Corps' (Trainer class))
Shō (Akari) Chō satai (Survey Corps' (Trainer class))
Ginga-dan (Galaxy Expedition Team): Shares it's name with the modern Team Galaxy in Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Italian.
Kamado or Denboku: His original home region is unknown and he bears Galarian armor that looks strikingly similar to Kalosian Wikstrom. Denboku is from raidenboku, an alternate reading of the Japanese rowan, nanakamado, which is Rowan's Japanese name. Kamado also comes from nanakamado.
Shimaboshi (Cyllene): She is originally from Hoenn, but Hoenn is also Japanese so that means nothing for her name.
Perilla (Zisu) Keibi-tai (Security Corps)
Kine (Pesselle) Iryō-tai (Medical Corps)
Tao Hua: Same in English and Japanese Seizō-tai (Supply Corps)
Sazanka (Sanqua) Kenchiku-tai (Construction Corps)
Nabana (Colza): His original region is apparently unknown, but Japanese is still a safe bet. Also most other localizations stem from Nabana rather than Colza. Hatasaku-tai (Agriculture Corps)
Haku (Rye) Hatasaku-tai (Agriculture Corps)
Mube (Beni): His home region is apparently unknown, but Japanese is a safe bet. Imozuru-tei (The Wallflower): [directly from Bulbapedia] From imozuru (vines of Japanese mountain yam or sweet potato), Mitsuru (Wally), and tei (common suffix in restaurant names)
Taisai (Choy)
Sharon (Anthe): Oddly, Sharon is her Japanese name.
Kongō-dan (Diamond Clan)
Seki (Adaman) Osa (Clan Leader)
Yone (Mai) Captain (Warden)
Hinatsu (Arezu) Captain (Warden)
Susuki (Iscan) Captain (Warden)
Tsubaki (Melli) Captain (Warden)
Wasabi (Sabi) Captain (Warden)
Shinju-dan (Pearl Clan)
Kai (Irida) Osa (Clan Leader)
Kikui (Lian) Captain (Warden)
Yūgao (Calaba) Captain (Warden)
Garana (Palina) Captain (Warden)
Hamarenge (Gaeric) Captain (Warden)
Shō-Chiku-Ba (Miss Fortunes)
Omatsu (Charm) Yatō (Bandit)
Otake (Clover) Yatō (Bandit)
Oume (Coin) Yatō (Bandit)
Ichō Shōkai (Ginkgo Guild)
Ginnan (Ginter)
Tsuiri (Tuli)
Volo: Same in English and Japanese Pokemon Tsukai (Pokemon Wielder)
Cogito (Cogita): She is a whole ass mystery, but Cogita (her name in English and German) is just a (non-existent) feminine form of Cogito, her Japanese name, which comes from Latin and basically means "I think", as in Decaretes' "cogito, ergo sum" or "I think, therefore I am". French and Chinese use the respective language's variation of the phrase as a base for her name, while Spanish and Italian use Greek words, for "wisdom" and "intelligence" respectively.
Professor Laventon: He's Galarian, so his name is English.
Unova: English The only ones I'm doing here are ones that AREN'T necessarily the English version.
Clay or Yakon: I've heard Clay may play on Japanese businessman tropes, and he has an ancestor in Hisui, so his name could be either of these.
Lacey or Taro: As Clay's daughter, her situation is the same as his.
Cyrano or Mirtilo: English and Spanish names respectively. Lives in Unova, but as Clavel's classmate could be from Paldea maybe? Saffron or Milo: As above
Kalos: French
Kalem (Calem)
Serena: Same in English and French
Sannah (Shauna)
Trevor: Same in English and French
Tierno: Same in English and French
Violette (Viola)
Lino (Grant)
Cornélia (Korrina) Héritière (Successor)
Amaro (Ramos)
Lem (Clemont)
Mache (Valerie): Mache is actually originally from Johto, hence her Japanese name.
Astera (Olympia)
Urup (Wulfric): Given he likely has a Hisuian ancestor, it wouldn't be unlikely for his name to be Japanese. Luckily, his Japanese and French names are the same!
Malva: Same in English and French
Narcisse (Siebold)
Wikstrom or Thyméo: Since we know his armor is likely Galarian his English name isn't out of place, but his French name is Thyméo.
Dracéna (Drasna)
Dianthéa (Diantha) Grande-Duchesse (Grand Duchess)
Aurore (Morgan)
Méridia (Dana)
Vesper (Evelyn)
Nix (Nita)
Millie (Emma) Elili (Essentia) Femme Louche (Suspicious Woman) Enfant Louche (Suspicious Child) Jeune Femme Louche (Suspicious Lady)
Gribouille (Mimi): Millie's Espurr friend
Team Flare: Apparently the same in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Lysandre: Same in English and French
Ancolie (Aliana)
Brasénie (Bryony)
Cyane (Celosia)
Myosotis (Mable)
Xanthin (Xerosic)
Professeur Platane (Professor Sycamore): Somewhat surprisingly, his Japanese and French names are the same, though they do both originate from the French word platane.
Alola: English Hawaii is an American state, and there isn't a Native Hawaiian translation of the games, so English is the default language here. But Hawaii does have ties to the East, so I will use some of the Japanese names if they make more sense to me. Most are just slight spelling changes anyhow.
Yo (Elio): Moved from Kanto to Alola, so Japanese name.
Mizuki (Selene): Moved from Kanto to Alola, so Japanese name.
Ma'o (Mallow): Technically her Japanese name is just Mao, but ma'o is the Hawaiian word for Hawaiian cotton and I feel spelling it that way feels better.
Sophocles or Māmane: Both names after the same plant, the Sophora chrysophylla, it's common and local Hawaiian name being māmane.
Hapu'u (Hapu): Hapu'u is her name in Japanese and comes from hāpuʻu, the Hawaaian tree fern.
Molayne or Mullein: Molayne is just a different spelling tbh and I kinda think it looks better.
Skipping Galar; there aren't really a lot of clear foreigners besides Kabu whose name is the same.
Paldea: Spanish and Portuguese I look at both languages because Paldea is based on the Iberian Peninsula and not just Spain. However, with Portuguese, I'm having to look at Brazilian Portuguese, which is not quite the same as European Portuguese, because that's almost all that's on Bulbapedia. I generally choose whether to use Spanish or Portuguese based on if said name is also the same as the English and/or Japanese name. Or default if only one is available. Also uhh my order might be a bit weird here because I didn't get to actually play these games. I kinda assumed you go through the teachers before Gym Leaders, so...yeah. I can re-order it later if that's wrong or confusing.
Florian: From an unknown region, but the same in English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian.
Juliana: From an unknown region, but the same in English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian.
Nemo(?): She is noted to not be from Paldea but her home isn't specified so it could be anything. Nemona is her name in English and E. Portuguese, Nemo in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and Thai, Noêmia in B. Portuguese, Nemila in German, Nemola in Indonesian, and Nemi in Italian. The odd ones out are Mencía in Spanish and Menzi in French.
Arven: Same in English and B. Portuguese
Academia Naranja (Naranja Academy)
Academia Uva (Uva Academy)
Miriam: Same in English and B. Portuguese
Saguaro: Same in English, Japanese, and B. Portuguese (as well as German and French)
Dendra: Same in English and B. Portuguese
Cloe or Mora (Raifort): Cloe is her name in Spanish, and Mora is her name in French, which I only include because her English/Japanese name Raifort is from the French word for horseradish apparently, so maybe she's Kalosian.
Silvio (Salvatore)
Mila (Tyme)
Jacques (Jacq): The B. Portuguese name as it's closer to his English name. His Spanish name is Cinio, which is Spanish for his Japanese name, Zinnia, which could be confusing considering Higana.
Clavel: Same in Japanese, Spanish, German, French, and Italian. English and B. Portuguese just adds another L. Clive: Same in English and B. Portuguese Director Escolar (Director)
Catarina (Katy): Her B. Portuguese name, which is closer to her name in English (Katy) and Japanese (Kaede).
Brais or Brás (Brassius): His Spanish and B. Portuguese names respectively, as both are very close to his English name.
Kissera (Iono): Her B. Portuguese name, comes from "O que será?" apparently meaning "what will it be?", which is closer to the intent behind her name in Japanese (Nanjyamo, name given to an unusually large tree that grows in a particular place; literally meaning "What is it?") and English (Iono, as in "I don't know") than her Spanish name, e-Nigma. Which makes me think of the Riddler.
Fuco (Kufo)
Laureano or Lauro (Larry): His Spanish and B. Portuguese names respectively. Larry could be a nickname for either though.
Lima or Citrina (Ryme): Her Spanish and B. Portuguese names respectively. Lima has the same puns on lime and rhyme that English and Japanese does, but tbh makes me think more of lima beans. Citrina is from citrino (citrus).
Tuli or Tulipa (Tulip): Her Spanish and B. Portuguese names respectively.
Grusha: Actually may be from an unrevealed Russian region as his name is Russian. It's also the same in most languages.
Cayena or Kaya (Rika): Her Spanish and B. Portuguese names respectively. Both come from cayenne, which isn't in her Japanese or English names. Her Japanese name is Chili, and Rika comes from paprika.
Poppy: Her name in English, Japanese, and B. Portuguese as well as German and Indonesian.
Hassel?: From and unknown region so could literally be anything, and all his names are very different.
Ságita or Guita (Geeta): Her Spanish and B. Portuguese names respectively. Supercampeona (Top Champion)
Team Star: Same in English and Spanish as well as German, French, and Italian
Penny: Actually from Galar, so her English name. Cassiopeia or Casiopea: English and Spanish forms respectively, referencing the constellation.
Giacomo: Same in English and B. Portuguese DJ Vil (DJ Vice)
Melo or Mélia (Mela): Spanish and B. Portuguese respectively.
Henzo (Atticus): Spanish name. Not like English or Japanese name, but his whole ninja theming makes Henzo fit better than the B. Portuguese Érico.
Ortega: Same in English and B. Portuguese, similar to Japanese, French, and Korean Ortiga.
Erin or Êri (Eri): Spanish and B. Portuguese respectively.
Profesor Sada: Same in English and EUROPEAN Portuguese, listed for once.
Profesor Turo: Same in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Kitakami: Japanese Not a region itself I don't think, but it's not connected to a specific region I don't think, so.
Zeiyu (Carmine)
Suguri (Kieran) Sugu (Kiki)
Sazare (Perrin): Actually from Sinnoh, but this is where you meet her so here she is. Shashinka (Photographer)
What do you think? Did I forget anyone important?
Okay this took way too long for something probably no one will see okaybaiiiiii

CORE Pro #108 Trios Kingdom 2022 - Night One 09/01/22 The Shoe Factory - Milton, Pennsylvania Attendance: 771
Match #1
Tumblr media
Queen's Quest (Utami Hayashishita, AZM, and Saya Kamitani) vs. The Factory (QT Marshall, Cole Karter, and Nick Comoroto) - Cole Karter attempted a Falcon Arrow on AZM, but she slipped out and was back to her feet. AZM hit the ropes and took Karter to the mat with La Mistica before getting the pin with her Azumi Sushi clutch. Winners: Queen's Quest
Tumblr media
- CORE social media manager Lance Wright was backstage capturing footage for the official CORE Pinterest account when he filmed the unexpected arrival of The Trustbusters stable of Ari Daivari, Parker Boudreaux, Slim J, and Sonny Kiss. Ari was shown flashing a large stack of money at Trios Kingdom participants Prolific, presumably in an effort to purchase their spot in the tournament. The three men brushed Ari off.
Match #2
Tumblr media
The 37KAMIINA (MAO, Shunma Katsumata, and Yuki Ueno) vs. Dalton Castle and The Boys (Dalton Castle, Brandon Tate, and Brent Tate) - Brent Tate ate a superkick from Katsumata which was followed up with the WR DDT from Yuki Ueno and the pinfall. Winners: The 37KAMIINA
Match #3
Tumblr media
Prolific (Isaiah Wolf, Marcus Marquee, and Tyree Taylor) vs. BULK Orchestra (Hayato Tamura, Ryuichi Kawakami, and Quiet Storm) - In an impressive display of power, Hayato Tamura hoisted Tyree Taylor up and slammed him to the mat with a Jackhammer to advance in the tournament. Winners: BULK Orchestra
Tumblr media
- Outside of The Shoe Factory, The Trustbusters were filmed as they approached The Moondogs. While Ari attempted to draw the attention of The Moondogs away from the bones they were gnawing at, all communication was drowned out as a helicopter came in for a landing at the nearby Milton Community Pool. The camera zoomed in to the helicopter as Samuel Shaw could be seen hopping out. JJ along with a very tall individual in a mask that was previously seen with Mysterious Q’s faction were shown trying to board. White Rabbit and Brown Bunny, formerly associated with the same stable before withdrawing from Trios Kingdom, welcomed the tall man onto the helicopter but motioned for JJ to return to the venue. As the helicopter lifted off into the night sky, the camera panned back to a very frustrated Ari Daivari and The Moondogs were nowhere to be seen.
Match #4
Tumblr media
Mysterious Q, FOR, and JJ vs. The Moondogs (Moondog Cooper, Moondog Tucker, and Moondog Oliver) - This match broke down early into a wild brawl that spanned every corner of The Shoe Factory. Back in the ring, Moondog Oliver prepared for a Vader Bomb on JJ but instead was met with a European uppercut by FOR from the apron. Moondog Oliver fell back from the second ropes into the waiting arms of Mysterious Q. Q had Moondog Oliver in torture rack position before spinning him into a sit out powerbomb. Winners: Mysterious Q, FOR, and JJ
Match #5
Tumblr media
Rock 'n' Roll Express (Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, and Kerry Morton) vs. Burning Embers (Athena, Samuel Shaw, and JONAH) with Raychell Rose - Ricky Morton was in trouble, but found an opening to make the hot tag. Perhaps out of muscle memory, Ricky bypassed the outstretched hand of his son Kerry to tag in his longtime partner Robert Gibson. Gibson's attempts at offense had no impact at all on Samuel Shaw. Shaw choked Hoot out with the Anaconda Vice, but before the referee could check on Gibson, Shaw tagged in JONAH who came off the top rope with the Torpedo splash. JONAH tagged in Athena, who at first tried to pick Gibson up to continue the assault, but finding him to be dead weight, instead covered Robert with a knee on the chest. Winners: Burning Embers
- After the match, Kerry Morton started to walk off with a look of disgust on his face before being called back to the ring by his father. While at first resisting, Kerry ultimately returned and helped his father carry Robert Gibson to the back.
- Failing at their previous two efforts to gain entry into the tournament, Ari Daivari set his sights on Royce Isaacs and Danny Limelight as they warmed up for their match. Looking to gain entry into Trios Kingdom as an injury replacement, Boudreaux held Danny Limelight open for body shots from Ari as Sonny Kiss and Slim J put the boots to Royce Isaacs. But before much damage could be done, CORE officials Aaron Arbo and Andy Harner retrieved Filthy Tom Lawlor who briefly traded strikes with Parker Boudreaux as the rest of The Trustbusters ran off.
Match #6
Tumblr media
Jericho Appreciation Society (Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, and Daniel Garcia) vs. BUG'S MUTATION (Ayumu Honda, Chicharito Shoki, and CHANGO) - Angelo Parker and Matt Menard dropped CHANGO throat first over the top rope with their double team Hotshot. Daniel Garcia applied the Dragon Tamer until CHANGO tapped out. Winners: Jericho Appreciation Society
Match #7
Tumblr media
Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor, Royce Isaacs, and Danny Limelight) vs. The Last Wave (Josh Alexander, Titus Alexander, and Mr. Takeshita) - As Mr. Takeshita and Tom Lawlor mixed it up outside of the ring, Titus Alexander hit the Chaos Theory on Danny Limelight. Titus released Limelight from the bridge and rolled him into a German suplex from Josh Alexander while Mr. Takeshita prevented Lawlor from breaking up the pin. Winners: The Last Wave
Match #8
Tumblr media
Team FIST (Tony Deppen, Travis Huckabee, and Chuck Taylor) vs. The Colony (Electro Ant, Ultimo Ant, and Fire Ant) - Travis Huckabee locked the Stretch Muffler on Ultimo Ant and stood up with it to prevent Ultimo from crawling to the ropes. Electro Ant freed his partner with a step up enzuigiri which sent Huckabee staggering into the Beach Break from Fire Ant followed by the cover from Ultimo Ant. Winners: The Colony
Upcoming Shows: CORE Pro #109 Trios Kingdom 2022 - Night Two 09/02/22 Kalahari - Pocono Manor, Pennsylvania 01. Mr Musichead is proud to present the US solo premier exhibition of award-winning artist, Hayato Takano, on July 14th from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Takano’s songbook collage portraits will delight art aficionados and music lovers alike. With each piece, Takano transports his viewer on a dazzling journey that captures the intricacy of composition and the artistry of the composer. This coalescence is created by Takano tearing original sheet music into thousands of pieces and assiduously placing them onto a canvas. Using only an eraser, glue, and curved stainless-steel tweezers, Takano produces a striking portrait of the subject while simultaneously capturing their essence.
Hayato’s mixed-media exhibition will happen at Mr Musichead Gallery located at 7420 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046.
Hayato Takano started his artistic journey as a musician while being a teenager. In 2002, he transitioned to collage artistry while making a piece for his then-girlfriend and now wife. As a poor music student in Los Angeles, Hayato made the gift out of necessity and stumbled into a lifelong passion for the medium.
In February 2017, his work was featured in Making the Cut, Vol. 1 the World’s Best Collage Artists. The prestige of being listed in this book garnered the attention of Music Cares and his work was featured at the Grammy Charity event. In April 2017, Takano achieved another accolade when he became the Art Revolution Taipei Chairman’s Award recipient. Curator Celeste Hope has described Takano’s work as, “very different and intricate”.  This uniqueness has caught the eye of several art investors and celebrities who have commissioned Takano to make collage portraits that decorate their offices and homes.
Mr Musichead is a Los Angeles gallery that has grown to be one of the world’s authoritative destinations for music-related art and photography and represents over 80 acclaimed photographers and artists. Founder Sam Milgrom has curated many exhibitions of note such as Bob Gruen, Grace Slick, Jerry Garcia, Chuck D, Baron Wolman, Danny Clinch, Chris Cuffaro, Brandon Boyd, EMEK, and Storm Thorgerson. As host to one of the finest collections of music-related photography in every music genre, the gallery also offers album cover and poster art chronicling music’s rich heritage and artwork by some of its greatest legends spanning the 1950s to the present.

For the GoT crossovers, how about KHR? Because I think anyone from that would be hilarious in GoT

How about KHR for the GoT meme? (Glad to see you’re okay!)
7/7 GoT Crossover Fix-Its: The Dying Will of Fire and Ice
So the scene actually gets set by the Arcobaleno being reincarnated first. Mostly as younger siblings and branch members of various houses.
Luce hasn’t learned her lesson, so she’s still aggravatingly passive about following the path laid out in her visions of the future. Which, to be entirely fair, is also a problem that Westros Greenseers have. So Elia Martell still marries Rhaegar Targaryen despite Elia also being Luce, and despite Luce knowing that it’s going to result in her eventual murder.
Except the Arcobaleno are well aware of Luce’s passive self-destructive tendencies this time around. So when Oberyn who is Reborn gets exiled for a bit, he goes and trains with the Faceless Men because cosplay is always a useful skill. And then Oberyn sneaks into the Red Keep during the siege because Aria is still Reborn’s daughter even if Rhaenerys is actually Oberyn’s niece. Meanwhile Mammon was born a Lannister, and they’ve been spying on Tywin constantly so they know exactly what he intends to do when the siege is broken. So Mammon grabs Lal, who was born to House Lorch, and Lal puts a crossbow bolt or six through Gregor and Armory’s heads.
Mammon conjures a few Real Illusion body doubles for Elia and the kids and the Arcobaleno take off for where Skull who was born a Greyjoy is waiting with a ship to get the fuck away in. Meanwhile Colonello who was born to House Fowler, Fon who was born to House Mullendore, and Verde who was born to House Reed are busy disabling the Wildfire depots and killing all the pyromancers. Which yes, does involve killing Aerys and knocking out Jaime Lannister as a favour to Mammon. So there’s no Kingslayer stigma to make Jaime get as bitter and cynical as he was in the original song.
Of course, Varys has already switched baby Aegon out with another infant with the Valeryian look so that whole thing with Young Griff is still going to happen. Which really pisses off the Arcobaleno because they’ve got this whole thing where they consider Luce’s kids to be their kids because Luce has a habit of dying before the kids hit double digits. And this time Luce’s passiveness would’ve gotten Aria and an innocent baby violently killed. So Elia gets shoved off on Doran while Oberyn arranges for Rhaenerys to be known as Aria Sand, one of his growing number of daughters.
Aegon’s going to stay with Jon Connigton though, because the Arcobaleno respect godparent rights. I think I’m going to make the body-double Varys snatched be Ashara Dayne’s baby. And Verde is the one tasked with taking the kid back to Starfall once he, Fon, and Colonello catch up with the rest of the Arcobaleno. Which derails Ashara’s suicide and adds another body to the group of Northmen who go to the Tower of Joy. The Lightning Arcobaleno who is also a Maester, because of course the scientist went and trained at the Citadel.
So obviously the Northmen survive, and so does Lyanna. Although the fever leaves her… more than a little loco. So there’s no way to get the real story of the abduction out of her, and Ned has to break the news that Robert needs to pick a different bride, since the bad birth left Lyanna barren and brain damaged. On their way back to King’s Landing Ned needs to figure out what he’s going to do with baby Jon, because he can’t let it be known that the kid is Lyanna’s, and not just because Lyanna isn’t fit to be a parent. Ned doesn’t know about the Arcobaleno’s rescue scheme, so the argument between Ned and Robert over dead children still happened, and letting it be known that Jon’s a Targaryen is a death sentence. Luckily Ashara agrees to claim Jon is also her bastard with Brandon, the younger twin to her other son. They come up with a story about Ned exchanging the sword Dawn for custody of Jon and possible legitimization by the new King to cover their tracks.
So we still have Cersei Lannister marrying Robert Baratheon, but it’s both better and worse than canon. Better, in that Robert got closure, got to say goodbye to Lyanna and had proof that she wasn’t ever going to be the kind of bride he was imagining. Worse, in that Cersei actually comes face-to-face with the woman who got everything Cersei presumably wanted and has to see how badly damaged that left Lyanna. It’s not a comfortable situation for anyone. Ned is ready to go back North about 3 seconds after the bedding ceremony.
Of course with Jon supposedly being Brandon’s son that Ned has taken as his ward Catelyn is much nicer to him. Which is always nice to be able to arrange. Plus, Robert is touched enough that Ashara gave up her “Northern son” to Ned that he officially legitimizes both the boys as his first official act as King. So we’ve got Vorian Dayne and Jon Stark from the very beginning.
Past the Rebellion, Cersei’s first pregnancy actually comes to term. Cersei still takes the Moon Tea because of her narcissistic incest fetish, but Dying Will Flame ex machina means that by the time Cersei realizes that the Tea didn’t work she’s too far along to abort without risking her own life. So Orys Baratheon, first of his Name, is born black of hair and crimson of eye. Because yes, Orys is also Xanxus, the legitimate heir to the Iron Throne. Which is going to be legitimately hilarious further down the line.
Cersei of course isn’t all that invested in Robert’s son despite the kid being hers too because of that narcissism thing I mentioned earlier. So Joffrey is the second born son this time, then Myrcella is born, and both are Jaime’s kids just like in the first version of the song. Cersei slacks off a bit around when she gets pregnant with Tommen, and so she gets fraternal twins this time. Tommen has the Lannister look, and Steffon has the Baratheon look. Which throws off any doubters because it’s not like anyone on Westros knows how hyper-fecundity works.
Xanxus twigs to Cersei being off her nut pretty fast, but he’s used to having a mother prone to delusions. Also Robert being a wasteful jackass is a familiar problem from back in the mafia life. So Xanxus starts acting as Heir as soon as he’s tall enough to climb up onto the seat at the Council table. Sky Flames mean he’s pretty good at getting people to listen to him despite needing a book to sit on so that’s good. Littlefinger doesn’t stay on the Small Council long because Xanxus gets him kicked off and replaced with Mammon, which accidentally endears him to Cersei for appointing a Lannister. That wasn’t his intent but yeah, okay, whatever.
Hilariously, Mammon and Stannis get along like a house on fire, including the bit where people flee screaming because they’re terrifying as a team. Xanxus is pleased. Robert ends up on a budget and he doesn’t even argue with it because Mist Flames are useful like that.
Orys beats Joffrey black and blue for the cat thing, but it’s pretty obvious even as the punishment is happening that Joffrey is the bad kind of crazy. Xanxus quietly starts making plans to “accident” Joffrey before he inherits a position with any sort of authority, and Steffon is charged with keeping Myrcella and Tommen safe from Joffrey in the meantime. Since Cersei is focused on pampering Joffrey and fighting with Robert, it’s easy to quietly arrange for Tommen to go to Dragonstone on occasion. With Tommen and Shireen betrothed, the Baratheon Name with continue to hold the Heir’s Seat. Steffon is going to inherit Storm’s End unless Renly marries and has a son, of course. Tsuna’s just happy he doesn’t have to be in charge this time.
With Mammon’s assistance, Aria and Xanxus have arranged for Orys Baratheon and Rhaenerys Targaryen to be betrothed, which will fully unify the last of the devisions in the Realm left over from the Rebellion. Luce is not consulted on this decision, and Varys’ little plot with Connington and Aegon is considered to be a source of amusement. Aria is being raised with Arianne and getting the education the future Queen of the Seven Kingdoms deserves. Also, the loser serves the winner and the Baratheon’s won the Rebellion so Aegon, Jon, and Viserys are non-contenders in the eyes of the Arcobaleno.
Without Littlefinger’s position on the Small Council he can’t divert Crown funds into his own pockets, so he can’t expand his enterprises and thus is stuck trying to make something of his holdfast instead of seducing Lysa. So there’s no one to smuggle Lysa the Tears of Lys, and Robin gets fostered out as planned. Which is definitely going to expose Lysa’s less than stellar mental stability. Of course, this also means that Jon Arryn still lives so there’s no excuse to travel North yet.
The Arcobaleno are their usual chaotic selves in the meantime, but Mammon, Fon, and Reborn team up to gather the Guardians that belong to the three Skies in their care. Mammon of course goes looking for the Varia, but this time Reborn is focused on finding the Giglio Nero Guardians, and instead it’s Fon who gets to collect the Vongola 10th Gen because of the Kyouya thing. Which, yeah, is pretty obviously the place to start.
Fon keeps an eye on his birth House of Mullendore, and when he visits his new nephew he recognizes Kyouya’s Flames immediately and notifies the others to keep an eye on their relations because it’s not just the Arcobaleno who are being reincarnated in Westros. Of course, at some point further down the line I-Pin gets reincarnated as a Mullendore too, but that’s still a bit aways.
In Dorne we’re going to have Squalo and Hayato, who are going to be related somehow and from House Yronwood, which means Reborn is the one who finds them and passes them on to Mammon for introductions. Hayato’s mother will be from House Qorgyle, which will also produce Bianche. Who, in fact, is going to be Aria’s eventual Storm Guardian. Reborn approves of this, yes.
In the Crownlands, House Brune will produce Gamma who gets shunted over to Aria’s side post haste. From the Westerlands, House Serrett will produce Lussaria for Xanxus, and House Prester is will eventually produce Lambo for Tsuna. Chikusa is going to be born to House Drox. In the Reach House Varner will produce Belphagor who gets scooped up by Mammon immediately. House Willum will produce Takeshi at around the same time, so that’ll be interesting. In the Riverlands Lancia will be born to House Paege, and House Vypren is going to eventually produce Fran. In the North House Glover will produce Ryohei, while Basil will be born to House Manderly. House Karstark is going to produce Ken. From the Iron Islands Leviathan is born to House Volmark, while Mukuro and Chrome are born to House Farwynd.
Dino and the Cavallone are going to be reincarnated as the Knights of the Vale, and Dino is a cadet branch Arryn who is eventually appointed to act as Jon’s regent in the Vale while Jon lives in King’s Landing as Robert’s Hand. It’s a tossup if Robin will inherit or not, given that he’s not mentally sound and Dino has been earning the loyalty of the Vale lords for something like five years or so by the time the original story starts.
Funny story, but it turns out that Aegon is actually Byakuran. Maybe they should’ve paid more attention to him after all. Whoopsies.
Anyway there’s a stupid amount of adventures and shenanigans as the various Settes are reunited and events from the original version of the song start to pick up. There’s going to be some sort of fracas when Robert decides that he wants his oldest son to marry Ned’s girl and Orys informs his father that he’s already brokered with Dorne to marry one of their Princesses. Which might just be the impetus that sends Robert haring off North in a rage, dragging his children and the rest of the Court behind him.
Xanxus likes the dire wolves and is stupidly impressed by Ned Stark’s loyalty to his family and his ability to tell Robert ‘no’ when it’s important. So Orys requests a private meeting with Lord Stark and manages to get across to the man that Joffrey got a heavy dose of “Targaryen Madness coupled with Baratheon Fury”. So instead of Sansa and Joffrey, it’s Arya and Steffon who get betrothed. Which means a Stark girl is set to be the future Lady of Storm’s End and that makes Robert happy. Plus Steffon might have swooned a little over Arya’s muscles. Just a little. Still, this made Arya happy, which makes Ned happy, and Catelyn is ecstatic because Arya has agreed to marry a Prince and it’s everything Catelyn ever wanted.
Obviously, no one is telling Catelyn that Steffon has arranged for Arya to get combat lessons from Fon and Lal. Nope. Shhh, it’s a secret.
Anyway, with Intuition being a thing Bran’s fall is averted by the simple fact of him not having the time to be climbing the Broken Tower because Steffon is occupying all of his time. And also Tsuna keeps dragging Bran and Arya out into the Godswood and the Wolf’s Wood for their own little hunting parties. So the fall is a thing that never happens. Somewhere in the Neck, Jojen Reed is flipping tables because the Future can’t make up its mind about being horrible or being the best possible future.
Xanxus decides he wants to see the Wall, so he and his Guardians head up further North with Tyrion to check it out. Giant fuck-off Wall made of Zero-Point Breakthrough Ice makes Xanxus paranoid. It was built to hold something back. Something a hell of a lot scarier than some slightly unhygienic dudes with overgrown beards. So Xanxus wants all the records from the Night’s Watch castles transcribed and copies sent to King’s Landing. Oh, and he finds dragon eggs of his own, either in Winterfell’s crypts or he’s going to get them from Maester Aemon, I’m not entirely sure at this point.
Daenerys’ storyline doesn’t change much, so at some point when the Seven Kingdoms are gearing up to fight against armies of the walking dead she shows up expecting to fight the Usurper for the Iron Throne and instead Rhaenerys lays the smackdown on her auntie. Bester, Natsu, and Cosmo II are all dragons, so it’s not like Daenerys’ children are going to give her the advantage either.
Anyway, when the Young Griff thing comes to a head everyone’s going to be super surprised when Aegon abdicates his position as Rhaegar’s heir in favour of his older sister. But eh, Byakuran mostly wants to laze around with pretty Ladies and eat honey cakes. Being King is far too much work. Somehow though he ends up marrying Sansa and taking charge of the Gifts. He has no sweet clue how but they actually have a very functional marriage for a couple of dreamers.
The Night King gets a crossbow bolt full of Wrath Flames to the face. The End.

WordPress 5.4 “Adderley”
Tumblr media
Here it is! Named “Adderley” in honor of Nat Adderley, the latest and greatest version of WordPress is available for download or update in your dashboard.
Tumblr media
Say hello to more and better.
More ways to make your pages come alive. With easier ways to get it all done and looking better than ever—and boosts in speed you can feel.
Welcome to WordPress 5.4
Every major release adds more to the block editor.
More ways to make posts and pages come alive with your best images. More ways to bring your visitors in, and keep them engaged, with the richness of embedded media from the web’s top services.
More ways to make your vision real, and put blocks in the perfect place—even if a particular kind of block is new to you. More efficient processes.
And more speed everywhere, so as you build sections or galleries, or just type in a line of prose, you can feel how much faster your work flows.
Tumblr media
Two new blocks. And better blocks overall.
Two brand-new blocks: Social Icons and Buttons make adding interactive features fast and easy.
New ways with color: Gradients in the Buttons and Cover block, toolbar access to color options in Rich Text blocks, and for the first time, color options in the Group and Columns blocks.
Guess a whole lot less! Version 5.4 streamlines the whole process for placing and replacing multimedia in every block. Now it works the same way in almost every block!
And if you’ve ever thought your image in the Media+Text block should link to something else—perhaps a picture of a brochure should download that brochure as a document? Well, now it can.
Cleaner UI, clearer navigation—and easier tabbing!
Clearer block navigation with block breadcrumbs. And easier selection once you get there.
For when you need to navigate with the keyboard, better tabbing and focus. Plus, you can tab over to the sidebar of nearly any block.
Speed! 14% faster loading of the editor, 51% faster time-to-type!
Tips are gone. In their place, a Welcome Guide window you can bring up when you need it—and only when you need it—again and again.
Know at a glance whether you’re in a block’s Edit or Navigation mode. Or, if you have restricted vision, your screen reader will tell you which mode you’re in.
Of course, if you want to work with the very latest tools and features, install the Gutenberg plugin. You’ll get to be the first to use new and exciting features in the block editor before anyone else has seen them!
Tumblr media
Your fundamental right: privacy
5.4 helps with a variety of privacy issues around the world. So when users and stakeholders ask about regulatory compliance, or how your team handles user data, the answers should be a lot easier to get right.
Take a look:
Now personal data exports include users session information and users location data from the community events widget. Plus, a table of contents!
See progress as you process export and erasure requests through the privacy tools.
Plus, little enhancements throughout give the privacy tools a little cleaner look. Your eyes will thank you!
Tumblr media
Just for developers
Add custom fields to menu items—natively
Two new actions let you add custom fields to menu items—without a plugin and without writing custom walkers.
On the Menus admin screen, wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields fires just before the move buttons of a nav menu item in the menu editor.
In the Customizer, wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields_customize_template fires at the end of the menu-items form-fields template.
Check your code and see where these new actions can replace your custom code, and if you’re concerned about duplication, add a check for the WordPress version.
Blocks! Simpler styling, new APIs and embeds
Radically simpler block styling. Negative margins and default padding are gone! Now you can style blocks the way you need them. And, a refactor got rid of four redundant wrapper divs.
If you build plugins, now you can register collections of your blocks by namespace across categories—a great way to get more brand visibility.
Let users do more with two new APIs: block variations and gradients.
In embeds, now the block editor supports TikTok—and CollegeHumor is gone.
There’s lots more for developers to love in WordPress 5.4. To discover more and learn how to make these changes shine on your sites, themes, plugins and more, check the WordPress 5.4 Field Guide.

Kaiseki at Hayato – Los Angeles
Just as the sun began to set over The Row, Cecelia and I tucked into Hayato for a one-of-a-kind kaiseki dinner orchestrated by Chef Brandon Go. We had secured reservations as soon as the restaurant expanded their offerings beyond lunchtime bento boxes and were excited to experience “true Japanese cooking” (washoku) in downtown Los Angeles.
Lasting nearly three hours and costing $200 per person (plus a 16% service charge), dinner at Hayato is hardly a casual affair. It is the kind of meal that ought to be planned in advanced, eagerly anticipated, and completely relished in the moment.
“Hayato is the culmination of a 20-year journey I have taken as an American-born chef learning about Japanese cuisine,” says Chef Go, who was born in Southern California and raised in his father’s sushi restaurant in Seal Beach.
We were joined at the counter by two other guests this evening. The four of us were greeted with sake and treated to a dozen courses, each highlighting a traditional Japanese “cooking” technique—sashimi, grilling, steaming, frying, and simmering. The results were seemingly simple, austere even, deriving their complexity from the impeccable ingredients.
The parade of tastes was mostly prepared in the open kitchen and served directly by the chef, which made dinner quite the intimate experience. Chef Go has an easygoing way about him, so the meal was as casual and conversational as we desired.
The first course featured grilled Santa Barbara spot prawns, okra, and seaweed served with a congealed dashi vinegar sauce. The bright, acidic flavors woke up our palates for the feast to come.
The Spot Prawns were followed by their brains, deep fried to an appealing crisp.
The next bite featured a fritter of fresh corn kernels and scallops in a tempura batter. A sprinkle of coarse salt brought out the fritter’s intrinsic sweetness.
The Spanish mackerel sushi was served on rice speckled with Japanese chives and topped with grated ginger. I could’ve easily polished off an entire roll or two or three—so it goes for a sushi fiend.
Next to follow was the seabream (tai) sashimi served with fresh wasabi, salt, and soy sauce. Dipping the fish in salt was a game-changer, enhancing its supremely clean flavor.
A pristine dashi, prettied with gelatinous “flower tips,” arrived cradling a hunk of Dungeness crab with a lone baby turnip. This dish epitomized what Hayato seems to strive for—serving the very best ingredients and letting them shine without any fussy flourishes.
And then there was steamed abalone served with its delicious liver, abalone stock, and fresh wasabi. The liver “sauce” had the entire counter buzzing.
A grilled filet of blackthroat seaperch (nodoguro) was next on the scene. The binchotan‘s smoky essence enrobed the fish, crisping its skin and balancing its fatty flesh. Served alongside was a bit of salt and burdock root with soy.
Next up was fresh water eel, battered and deep fried, served in a ginger-infused dashi thickened with starch and garnished with Japanese scallions. The warm broth demanded to be slurped long after the eel was gone.
For the penultimate course, Chef Go prepared a beautiful filet of rock fish in a dashi fortified with extra konbu (kelp) along with shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and Japanese mustard greens (mizuna).
The finale was a show-stopping rice dish made with seasonal ingredients including baby barracuda and Japanese parsley stems. I was so incredibly full at this point that I had to refuse seconds, which broke my heart more than a little.
Note: While it is acceptable to pick up one’s bowl to shovel rice directly into one’s mouth in Vietnamese culture, Japanese tradition dictates that the bowl should not leave the table one can pick up the bowl and use chopsticks to pick up a portion. Chef Go is fine with either method.
Served on the side was miso soup, as well as daikon radish and cucumber pickles.
Before sending us waddling into the night, Chef Go prepared a serving of peaches marinated in rice wine (mirin) and a few cups of green tea.
I walked away from dinner at Hayato with a deeper understanding of traditional Japanese cooking. The evening’s flight of impeccably prepared seafood was truly excellent from beginning to end. While I generally gravitate toward more flavor-forward foods—noodles swimming in funky broths, drippy cheeseburgers, and chili oil-dipped dumplings—Chef Go’s understated approach resonated with me long after the meal. At Hayato, less is absolutely more.

So long Pocketnow, and thanks for all the fish...
Just over four years ago, I was listening to the Pocketnow Weekly Podcast with Michael Fisher, Anton D. Nagy, and I think Brandon Miniman when Michael added, almost as an aside, that “Oh, by the way, we’re hiring.” I had been active in the mobile tech community since 2009, and I had done some writing for webOSRoundup and Mobile Roundup - both now gone unfortunately. So, in one of those “What the hell?” moments, I shot off a quick email to Pocketnow. Just for fun, here’s the first part:
Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen of the Pocketnow hierarchy, My name is Adam Doud, also known as @DeadTechnology on twitter. I'm a webOS enthusiast, Windows Phone fan, and Android skeptic, and confessed grammar Nazi.  I've been using and espousing my opinion on all things mobile tech for almost 4 years now (Since CES 2009) and have built a bit of a following, mostly in the webOS community, but in other areas as well. I have been described as sardonic, witty, and with dry humor. I wrote for a time for webOSRoundup.com and mobileRoundup.com and I'm ready to get back in the game.  Below are links to my "author" pages on both of those sites, followed by a few of my highlight reel articles. Alas, I have no videos to my credit, at least no reviews, so I have included a couple of videos I've made related to tech and last but not least, a series of my favorite youtube topic- treadmill accidents.  Those of course aren't related to me, you, or technology, but they're funny as hell.
I don’t know why Anton ever emailed me back. So lesson 1 here is, if you ever hear about an opportunity that you would love to take on, even if you think it’s wildly out of reach, go for it. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to write about the latest in technology, review some of the newest and latest gadgets and build friendships with some of the best people on the planet. I’ve felt at home in cities that I’d never visited before and I’ve dropped phones on sidewalks and into fish tanks - for my job.
It has been a wonderful run, and I’ve made a host of new friends both at Pocketnow and beyond. But now it’s time to move on. I’ll be joining a new family very soon and working as part of a bigger team, still espousing my opinions for the world to read. And for the time being, I’ll still be hanging out at Booredatwork, reviewing products in photos and video. It’s going to be an interesting ride.
I love all of my Pocketnow brothers, and we’ll be brothers for life. Anton, Jaime, Jules, Adam, Joe, Juan, and Adrian (and Michael, Taylor, Stephen, Brandon, and Hayato, and so many others) are the best people to work with. I’ll miss them deeply. I hope you’ll follow me on my journey to see what’s next. It’s going to be pretty great, I promise you.
So anyway, cheers for now, but I promise, I’ll be seeing you again soon!

REINCARNATION OF POOL MAJOR BEGINS IN VEGAS
Tumblr media
The 43rd partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship broke off at Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas on Sunday as a 256-player field of the world’s elite pool players began their quest to land one of billiard’s biggest titles.
The reincarnation of one of pool’s oldest majors, now promoted by Matchroom Multi Sport, began at 9am with 33 tables breaking in unison. Among the first to move to the winners’ side of the tournament was reigning champion Jayson Shaw, who got his tournament off to the perfect start with an 11-0 dismantling of German Marcus Westen. Later in the day Shaw defeated fellow Brit Tom Staveley while American No.1 Shane van Boening is also still going on the winners’ side as is the tournament’s highest-racked female player, Siming Chen of China. But there were a wave of early casualties as seeded players including previous US Open Champions Mika Immonen and Kevin Cheng fell into the losers’ side of the tournament. World Pool Masters winner David Alcaide and Mosconi Cup winners Skyler Woodward and Tyler Styer also have just one life left in this double elimination format and must now win eight consecutive matches to make the last-16 stage of the event.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The tournament feature table, streamed live at Facebook.com/USOpen9Ball, ended with a classic between two American legends as Dennis Hatch and Earl Strickland battled out a hill-hill thriller before The Hatchetman delivered a decisive blow to knock ‘The Pearl’ over to the losers’ side of the brackets. Play continues at 9am local time on Tuesday. The US Open is split into two stages with the full field playing double elimination down to the final 16 from Sunday, April 21 until Tuesday April 23. From Wednesday April 24 until Friday April 26 the final 16 players will play straight knockout in the Diamond Arena with global television coverage including Sky Sports and DAZN. All matches at the partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship are race to 11, winner breaks, except the final which is race to 13. The draw and match schedule for the first stage of the tournament is available now at www.matchroompool.com. Players are playing for their share of a $300,000 tournament purse. The winner will take home $50,000, the famous US Open green jacket and the newly-commissioned Barry Behrman trophy. Tickets for the 43rd partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship are still available at www.matchroompool.com from as little as $10 with VIP packages also available for the final three days of the tournament.

CORE Pro Trios Kingdom Kickoff Event 08/05/22 The Valley Lighthouse - Lykens, Pennsylvania
- Fans from as far as Cameron County made their way to Lykens for the Trios Kingdom Kickoff. Those in attendance enjoyed ice cold A-Treat soft drinks and Middleswarth chips provided by our friends at the local Boyer's Food Market. CORE legends Bronson Pinchot and "Soda Pop" Ronnie Zukko were on hand to take photos and sign autographs.
Trios Kingdom 2022 - First Round
Queen's Quest (Utami Hayashishita, AZM, and Saya Kamitani) - Representing STARDOM, one of the most successful stables in the history of women's wrestling. Stable leader Utami Hayashishita has maintained the standard of excellence established by original Queen's Quest founder Io Shirai. Hayashishita brings with her the current Wonder Of Stardom champion Saya Kamitani and the current High Speed champion AZM.
The Factory (QT Marshall, Cole Karter, and Nick Comoroto) - QT Marshall has selected his trainee Nick Comoroto and the newest member of his stable, Cole Karter, to represent The Factory at Trios Kingdom 2022. Responding to questions about how Aaron Solo or Anthony Ogogo may feel about Karter being selected over them, QT explained that this was his way of rewarding the faith Karter showed The Factory by accepting their invitation.
The 37KAMIINA (MAO, Shunma Katsumata, and Yuki Ueno) - In an interesting development, The 37KAMIINA have accepted an invitation to join Trios Kingdom 2022 without their stable leader, Konosuke Takeshita. We can only speculate on the ramifications this may have on the group going forward, or what a potential match between them and Mr. Takeshita might look like. Takeshita had assembled some of the best young talent in DDT before leaving for his current excursion, and they are ready to show how they've adapted on their own.
Dalton Castle and The Boys (Dalton Castle, Brandon Tate, and Brent Tate) - Dalton and the Tate Twins, the current Ring Of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, are as decorated a trio as exist in pro-wrestling today. A rejuvenated Dalton Castle and his long time partners look to make a strong showing in Trios Kingdom.
Prolific (Isaiah Wolf, Marcus Marquee, and Tyree Taylor) - A promising young trio that have begun to make a name for themselves along the east coast, most notably for the Combat Zone Wrestling office. Their highest profile match yet awaits them in the opening round of Trios Kingdom 2022.
BULK Orchestra (Hayato Tamura, Ryuichi Kawakami, and Quiet Storm) - Representing the GLEAT wrestling office. In his young career, top prospect Hayato Tamura has already claimed the ZERO1 World Heavyweight championship and was a finalist for the GLEAT G-REX Title. Joining him are veterans Ryuichi Kawakami, who found success in Big Japan, DDT, and All Japan before joining GLEAT, and Quiet Storm, whose long career has seen him compete everywhere from the early days of Combat Zone Wrestling to the rings of Osaka Pro and Pro Wrestling NOAH.
Mysterious Q, FOR, and JJ - Little is known about this cult like group that orbits around the Mysterious Q. Even less is known now that recently introduced member White Rabbit and their valet Brown Bunny have suddenly withdrawn from the tournament. In their place, Mysterious Q and FOR will be teaming with someone known only as JJ. While questions abound, the success Mysterious Q and his admirers have found in CORE is indisputable.
The Moondogs (Moondog Cooper, Moondog Tucker, and Moondog Oliver) - The latest iteration of the legendary Moondogs will be making their debut at Trios Kingdom. If history is any indication, we can expect to see some wild and violent action from these three individuals. The Moondogs guarantee a dangerous and unpredictable matchup for anyone in the tournament.

La Estrella vs. Komander Winner: La Estrella
Rock 'n' Roll Express (Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, and Kerry Morton) - After begging his father for an opportunity, Kerry Morton will get his shot at CORE action as he teams with the legendary tag team of Ricky and Robert. How they will fare outside of Senior Division competition remains to be seen, but their experience is unmatched, and that combined with Kerry's youthful enthusiasm could present a challenge to any opponent.
Burning Embers (Athena, Samuel Shaw, and JONAH) with Raychell Rose - When it came time to assemble a team for Trios Kingdom, Athena looked into her recent past and called on Samuel Shaw and JONAH to be her partners. The three having wrestled together successfully as 3/4s of an eight man tag match in the Orlando territory. When Raychell Rose was asked if she felt any resentment about not being selected, Athena answered that Raychell was very grateful for the opportunity to observe their tournament triumph from ringside.
Jericho Appreciation Society (Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, and Daniel Garcia) - Angelo Parker and Matt Menard are no strangers to Trios tournaments, having participated in previous Trios Kingdom action as well as smaller tournaments. Garcia also spent much of his early career competing around the northeast in multi-man tags with some of his Buffalo area travelling partners. This trios’ experience combined with the knowledge they have gained from Chris Jericho make them one of the on paper favorites to win it all.
BUG'S MUTATION (Ayumu Honda, Chicharito Shoki, and CHANGO) - Representing the 2AW office in Japan. Ayumu Honda, one of the cornerstones of 2AW, is a former three time Chiba Six-Max Tag Team champion. CHANGO, a near twenty year veteran of the sport, has competed all over Japan including being a three time six-man tag team champion in the GUTS World promotion. Chicharito Shoki, the young lion of the group and one of the first talents fully trained by the 2AW office since their rebranding from Kaientai Dojo, recently claimed the Big Japan affiliated Yokohama Shopping Street six-man tag team championship. While all three members have found six-man tag team gold on their own, they have yet to score any major championship or tournament wins as a faction. Could Trios Kingdom 2022 be their first?
Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor, Royce Isaacs, and Danny Limelight) - Representing New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Lawlor and Isaacs have continued to develop their tag team chemistry during Lawlor's recent tour of NJPW as part of the G1 Tournament. While having no shortage of choices on who would take the last spot in Team Filthy, Lawlor pointed to Danny Limelight's pinfall victory over The DKC during the ten man tag at NJPW Capital Collision to explain his pick.
The Last Wave (Josh Alexander, Titus Alexander, and Mr. Takeshita) - When asked to explain the new group he dubbed "The Last Wave", Josh Alexander described the trio as the best overall wrestler in the world today (himself), the best wrestler just now entering the prime of their career (Mr. Takeshita), and the best wrestling prospect (Titus Alexander). As Josh Alexander put it, one of these three men will be dominating pro-wrestling at various points for the next thirty years, so they are not the Next Wave, or the New Wave, but The Last Wave.
Team FIST (Tony Deppen, Travis Huckabee, and Chuck Taylor) - An all-star team of sorts, streamlined and free of any dead weight. Different generations unite for a common goal, winning Trios Kingdom 2022.
The Colony (Electro Ant, Ultimo Ant, and Fire Ant) - An unlikely but very welcome reunion. Electro Ant and Ultimo Ant have continued to develop their skills since winning a small, largely forgotten trios tournament in 2018, and with the return of Fire Ant, The Colony have to be one of the fan favorites to win it all.
