Sometimes, people just mean well, man. They might be clumsy about it. Might not use the right words, or even words you necessarily appreciate. Might not be able to write a damn dissertation on the issue at hand. But they mean well. They have your back. They're trying to help, in their own way. And, I dunno, call me naive, but it kind of seems like any kind of well-meaning goodness is welcome right now.

#i feel like i keep seeing people say things on the internet--trying to give hope or light or whatever they can #and then a bunch of commenters just dogpiling about how 'that isn't the point'#or 'if you say it THAT way you're basically no different than the enemy'#and it's like. i dunno my dudes.#if the enemy wants me dead or to dissolve my marriage or to erase my identity and stuff me in a box #and Evan on the interwebs isn't quite sure what lingo is appropriate but is willing to put up for the minorities in his community regardles #maybe Evan is actually not the enemy. maybe he's actually a good person to have on my side #i think i'll take him over the people who say the right shit to my face and turn around and vote to overturn my rights any day of the week #like would i LOVE for my trainer at work to not be so detached from the news that she legit did not know about the inauguration?#sure. yeah. that would be helpful.#but if some bigot comes for me at the office i know for a fact she'll get between us and shut that person down #and right now. i dunno. i kinda need to know those people are around
