Hanbok design--mix of European, Contemporary, Korean and gender fluid to Korean standards.
I technically have the cloth to do this and the tailoring skills. Not the boots, but ya know, sometimes...
Tumblr media
So the basics for those that are not sighted/low vision is an Audrey Hepburn dress with an added bow on our left and empire waistline with pinstripes and a black ruffle at the bottom. And it has.... pockets. This mixes business dress attire, Korean chima, with a classic style that won't go out of fashion easily. The dress overlaps in the back, but ties in the front. I think the skirt will be sewn up. In terms of flexibility the top can also be made into a longer skirt by simply folding down the top section into skirt section, making for an elegant black tie.
The pinstripes I'm envisioning in white on a black background.
Over the top of that is a business jacket that's styled like a durumagi, though shortened to business jacket length. It's tied with a otkoreum and has a button underneath. I added the button so it doesn't depend solely on the ties. The ties are short because toilet+ ties is not fun.
There are of course added pockets on the pinstripe jacket. 'cause NBs and women deserve pockets.
Below the skirt are trouser/pants which mimic sokpaji/paji. Which were both worn by women and men.
I changed the collar from the traditional collar to a lapel collar, because I wanted to make it feel like a business suit situation. I was told by a relative that there is no way one could make hanbok look "formal" business attire and this is my way to say, "yes, it can."
But the sleeves will be Korean with the original curve, rather than the straight ones... 'cause I think it's a travesty that they are being made into Western sleeves to fit Western clothing.
As for the other set dressing? Boots in traditional Korean wear was for men. The reason the paji were designed as they were were so they could fit into boots.
And the top knot is obvious.
So I think this is NB-ish, gender fluid, celebrates European clothes (granted from the 19th century and 1950-1960's-ish), has traditional elements of hanbok, so it still reads as one. But not too masculine that it reads "woman tries to look like she's trying to imitate men." type of fashion. Just that little bit of a ruffle for a throw back in history to remind people that men loved ruff(le)s too.
I also designed it so it's not male-gaze centric. 'cause screw that.
One can also remove the dress and wear the jacket with a shirt and just the pants too. ^_^
BTW, I had a thread a while back on Twitter about Lois Lane and the hanbok she wore being odd...
While I know pinstripes are hard to animate for a number of reasons, though it's slightly easier with the current tech, this is closer to what I would have envisioned for Lois. All at once masculine and feminine in both a US throwback style and a tip off for Korean. (granted maybe not the hair, but a ribbon could be added that's similar. Or she could go and don one of those wigs/do a clip on.. though that might be a stretch) It's formal for a party--it screams reporter who can't quite quit being off the job, and it celebrates both shores without compromising anything.
While I didn't originally design this for her, because I drew it sometime last year, this is probably the best rep of Korean American-ish feels I could pull. 'cause Korean women love Audrey Hepburn who had that mix of masculine and feminine and tomboy which usually looks good on smaller frames.
I suppose, too, me knowing a bunch of hanbok and how they've bent, not bent, and how they work, their symbolism, and having physically made some... I understand how to flex it like this.
I also kind of have a history of fashion in my head... so I know what to pull to make it feel timeless and I understand the types of clothes that has traditionally been on Lois Lane.
So this is my strongest suggestion for design.

3-5 THINGS YOUR MUSE CAN EASILY BE IDENTIFIED BY.
COLORS:
blue
pink
yellow
SCENTS:
soap. typically lavender or lilac, but she occasionally branches out. the first thing one smells of her is her hair due to its length and volume. the soap/shampoo ( depending on the era ) is her most noticeable scent.
rosemary. this comes from the fact she uses rosemary water to wash her hair. she does occasionally mix the rosemary with rain water depending on the season.
salt water. post canon when she is living by the seaside, she can frequently be found wandering along the beach. the salt of the sea is stick under her nails and in her hair.
FASHION:
she wears a variety of colors, but prefers pastels. her favorite color is blue and that's obvious in her wardrobe. she will typically be married in blue, depending on the groom. blue represents freedom.
she will stick to dresses and skirts, no matter what era we're in. she doesn't like pants. she will steal various articles of clothing from her partners, but will not make it obvious.
in historical eras, she will stick to the fashionable and practical boot no matter what social class she is apart of. she only owns one pair of silk slippers which don't see much action as they were reserved for dances or balls. even post-canon, johanna doesn't attend very many of these.
she gets cold often so she tends to wear a cardigan or sweater. she doesn't like coats since they make her feel claustrophobic and some designs cling to the body too much for her own comfort. layers make her feel safer. in the winter, she will wear several layers of sweaters to keep warm. she does own a single coat which is usually tucked in the back of a closet. the most she'll allow is for a coat to be gently thrown over her shoulders. that more resembles a shawl.
a string of pearls gifted to her by anthony. that's the most jewelry she'll wear.
OBJECTS:
a cross necklace. this was her mother's, but johanna will never know it was from her. lucy had left it at the ball and without any use for it, turpin had it given to johanna when she was a child. the cross is to remind her of her virtue and that god's eyes are always on her. for johanna, this necklace reminds her of her faith and it gives her slight hope at times. the necklace is taken from her while in fogg's. she never gets it back.
a string of pearls around her neck. playing with a necklace calms her when she's anxious and anthony had bought this for her as a wedding present. she loves how pearls are from the ocean and the ocean has touched every part of the world. that's what she wants to achieve.
her mother's reticule. while usually close to her, johanna doesn't always wear it around her wrist as they tend to be worn. there are a few of her treasures in there: bird feathers and her mother's wedding ring. in victorian verses, this is left at turpin's house. she never gets it back.
her mother's wedding ring. the last thing of her mother's that she knows she has. it's usually kept on a chain in the reticule for safe-keeping. johanna doesn't get it back post-canon. it was a simple band with her father's initials in it as was a popular trend at the time.
in modern verses, some sort of hair tie or scrunchie is usually around her wrist as a just in case. while she doesn't always tie it back, there are many days it ends up in a ponytail or braid. johanna has many hair accessories at home, including but not limited to: bobby pins, clips ( she likes butterflies and birds especially ), bows, scarfs and headbands.
needle and thread. it's practical to have on one's person as a precaution. johanna usually has a small sewing "kit" tucked away in a pocket.
BODY LANGAUGE:
when johanna was younger, she used to anxiously mess with her hair and chew on it to the point where huge knots would form and her nanny got cross with her. after she learned how to do her own hair, she began taking better care of it. however, the hair habits she formed dissolved into something else. when she's stressed, she'll tug on her curls to the point where sometimes her scalp begins bleeding. this has been a habit for so long that she no longer feels any pain there and has to check herself if she's bleeding. she doesn't realize when she's pulling too hard. usually, someone else will need to point it out for her.
while she works on just about anything, she hums or sings to herself. this can be hardly more than a mumble or passionately singing along to the b.eatles. johanna gets into whatever she's singing. she loses herself in it to the point of tears. but generally, she hums whatever song pops into her head. it started out as "singing for her larks" and has become singing for herself.
usually her hands rest at her waist or at her chin if her arms aren't just hanging. the point is to not direct any attention to her chest or her stomach. johanna hardly ever wants sexual attention ( unless it is from her husband ) and she considers her stomach to be a problem area. she will occasionally cross her arms over her chest when angry, but she'll quickly redirect her body language.
when distressed, she often bites her lip to the point of it bleeding. again, she won't notice until she tastes blood or someone points it out.
when happy, johanna will cover her mouth with one or both hands to hide her smile or laughter. she was raised in a "children are seen, not heard" type of household so she tries not to sound her emotions out. she will also bounce on her toes and grab at loved ones.
AESTHETICS:
caged birds: are they singing? are they screaming? wings flapping against the ivory bars. blindly flying around the small space. a song stuck in their throat, but all that comes out is a sob.
the ocean: it's impossible to trap an entire ocean. it is impossible to keep the waves from rolling. you cup water between your hands, yet some of it always manages to slip in between your fingers. the ocean is free and blue and beautiful.
pearls: a symbol of the path to perfection. a symbol of the sea. how pearl necklaces symbolize all of your tears meaning you'll shed no tears in your marriage and be happy. symbols of purity, innocence and loyalty. the only white johanna chooses to wear on her person and for good reason.
books: the gateway to escape. the front over is a portal to another world and all of your problems are left in this one. more knowledge and excitement than she ever thought she would know. a quick trip to spain or peru or the coast of france.
embroidery: birds flying between the clouds. a girl much like herself also stitching away. a bubble bee buzzing over a garden wall. anything that she can sketch out and sew into fabric. on handkerchiefs, on her husband's starched white shirts, on the edges of skirts, on stockings or socks, everywhere she can get her hands on.
tumbling yellow curls: thrown over her shoulder. swept to the side in bed. collected on the top of her head. braided down her back. yellow like wheat that waves with the wind. yellow as if the sun was spun onto her head.

Backstory
Born and raised in a nomad goblin clan of Blackarrows, Zuzo was always a quirky soul. Ever since his youngest days, he sought different paths than his peers. When others shot from the bow and practiced with wooden swords, Zuzo was in the camp, repairing broken toys and patching rags. When others tamed wolves, Zuzo was learning advanced knots. This earned him a false reputation as a coward, and it made things worse when Zuzo explained how his woolen coats keep his friends alive in winter.
It took plenty of black eyes and broken noses (on both sides) and a useful rabbit trap design, for others to start respecting his unique skills. Nevertheless, when he was a teenager during one of the clan’s raids, Zuzo hid in a town shop, refusing to pillage and kill. Fate had it that Mr. Bonko, a shoemaker and the proprietor of the establishment, didn’t scream when he saw Zuzo, but rather showed compassion for the poor goblin. He saw Zuzo’s warm heart and gentle touch and gave him an opportunity for a better life. And Zuzo repaid it over twelve years of working in ‘Bonko’s Boots’. With his skills and quick wit, he made new, fashionable footwear and saved the shop from bankruptcy. Having no kids, Mr. Bonko left the establishment to Zuzo in his will.
And thus began a second wave of hardships for this peculiar goblin, having to fight stereotypes and prying eyes, ill-wishers, and thieves. He read about the law to defend against false accusations; he taught himself basic arcana, for protection. His business survived three arsons, two floods, and seven burglaries—he stood the ground until the last blaze. Retrieving his cindered belongings, he packed his arms and reputation and ventured into the world.
Court dances filled the next decade of his life. From wealthy merchants and politicians to nobles, kings, and emperors, there isn’t a posh person who Zuzo hadn’t clad. They could mock him about his heritage but they couldn’t deny his exceptional tailoring. All wanted his designs, even plotting to get him to be exclusive. However, he remained as he always was: a goblin of the highest professionalism with passion and intuition for a fine cut.
Eventually, the court stories bored him and he settled in a dilapidated Tralin’s Theater that got a new owner. It was a small town and a fresh page, a new challenge: to bring life to the establishment, to clad the actors in the finest, eccentric costumes, and lend his craft for joy, arts, and beauty.
Roleplaying Zuzo
Of Gentle Heart and Touch Zuzo finds beauty in art, kindness, and prosperity. However, he is prone to embarrass those who behave badly in his presence. His dextrous hands allow him to achieve the highest of craft levels, both tinkering and tailoring.
Prankster This jolly goblin enjoys a good laugh and is often the cause of one. He is famous for his practical pranks involving stage props, which force actors to improvise and often result in an even better performance. The audience loves it and is awaiting the prank during the show.
Daydreamer and selectively focused Zuzo often dozes off during a conversation, designing his next dress in his mind. During work, he’s highly focused and almost unperceptive of his surroundings. Almost, because the moment someone touches his tools, he snaps back to reality.
Notable Combat Features
Trained Arcanist — Zuzo is a magic user of medium skill with expertise in conjuration magic. In battle, he animates and conjures objects to aid him.
Impervious Fashion — When not in his working clothes, Zuzo dresses in the latest high-class fashion. His enchanted suits grant him temporary quickness, endurance, and resistance to mundane weaponry.
Ik, a needle friend — Zuzo’s most deadly weapon. This animated needle is quick, terribly hard to spot, and is connected to the endless thread in Zuzo’s back pocket. In battle, it pierces and ties Zuzo’s enemies. The rumors say he once sewed the mouth of a deceitful nobleman.
Dud, a mannequin friend — This faceless, well-dressed animated caricature is Zuzo’s assistant and butler. Sometimes Zuzo talks to it while working. In battle, Dud is capable of giving serious punches with its wooden fists.
Sharp mind, teeth, and eyes — Zuzo has good vision in darkness, a quick problem-solving mind, and razor teeth. He usually only needs the first two for any situation.
Design Notes
Fill the battlefield with the most comical and dangerous tools: suffocating coats, flying needles, self-tying silk, gigantic pin cushion, snake-like tailoring measure rope, and shin-kicking stools. Zuzo’s battles are usually light-hearted with the goal to shame his aggressors. However, he is capable of more advanced magic if needed.
Encounters
You encounter Zuzo as he and Dud are fighting a bunch of thieves in a local town.
You encounter Zuzo in Tralin’s Theater workshop. He’s not kind to thugs and thieves.
You find Zuzo in a local town where he confronts his past clanmates. They demand ‘absence payment’ from Zuzo.
You encounter Zuzo after a chase in a local town where the party managed to hide in his shop. He shelters them.
You stumble upon Zuzo chasing after frenzied Dud, whose incantations went awry. He is trying to prevent Dud from hurting anyone while protecting it from the guards.
You are pointed to Zuzo via a third party when searching for clothing enchantments.
Quest Hooks
Zuzo’s needle Ik is broken. He needs a starsteel ore to make a new one.
Zuzo needs you to capture the current leader of the Blackarrow clan who treats Zuzo’s cousins and past friends with cruelty.
Zuzo needs you to break into the royal treasury. The king has falsely accused Zuzo of witchcraft and has taken Zuzo’s most expensive cloth. He wants them back.
There is an enchantment that would grant Dud the mannequin sentient characteristics. He’d be able to speak and think and have a soul. Zuzo will give anything if you find it for him.
Zuzo needs the party to retrieve a special royal gown from the emperor’s tomb. By the myth, the gown possesses the most powerful clothing enchantments ever seen.
Zuzo needs the party to collect feathers from the Giant Eagles of the mountains. He will use them to make the new costume and will enchant the party’s clothes in return.

@starlightcleric's Owlcatober 2022 challenge Didn't think I'd have time to write one today and then this happened. Added to chapter 6 of The Lark and the Crow on AO3.
***
They met in front of the Half-Measure, in the part of town where Drezen’s nicer shops had sprung up. Daeran arrived in a midnight-blue velvet frock coat over a cream-colored linen shirt, well-fitting slate trousers and shiny black knee-high boots. Woljif tried the outfit on in his head but wasn’t sure he could get away with it. Not yet anyway. You had to have the money to back it up or people would laugh.
“The Lost Prince desires a tailor,” said Daeran as they fell in step. “Remind me. What’s the occasion?”
“I’m on the Commander’s council now. Gotta look the part,” Woljif lied.
“Personally, I rather enjoy the expressions on people’s faces when you stroll into the command room not looking the part,” said Daeran.
“Yeah, I get that. But they’re lookin’ down their noses at me, I can tell.”
“I don’t understand why that bothers you. You should be who you are, right in their smug faces.”
“Course you don’t understand why it bugs me. Just look at you.”
“I think you misjudge, my friend. I have made it my life’s work to be the wart on the Mendevian aristocracy’s nose. Or no—more like the obscene bulge in its trousers. I am universally looked down upon—and blushed at—and it is my greatest source of joy.”
“That’s cause you’re an Arendae. I’m just some dime-a-dozen demonspawn, no better’n a clod a’ dirt. I mean, until I come into my inheritance.”
They exchanged a sly smile.
“Anyway, you have only to look at our beloved Commander to see how important dress sense is in the Fifth Crusade,” said Daeran with a sarcastic roll of the eyes.
Woljif pretended to peer into the window of Darek Sunhammer’s because his face had grown warm. “Not good?”
“No. But he gets away with it because he doesn’t care, and that’s what I’m advising you to learn to do too. Here we are.”
The tailor, an impeccably groomed gnome by the name of Quintus, jumped up from behind rolls of fine fabric and rushed over, bowing and snapping his fingers for his assistants.
“Ah, Count, how delightful!”
The gnome put on a most obsequious expression, while at the same time darting alarmed glances at the personage who had slipped in on the Count’s coattails.
Daeran surveyed the shop displays and shook his head sadly. Sky blue, forest green, warm browns and rosy lilac. “I suppose there was no avoiding it,” he sighed.
“What do you think of this?” cried Quintus, holding up a swath of supple, wine-colored leather. “Out of stock all across Mendev ever since the Knight-Commander kicked the demons out of Kenabres in just such a jerkin. I have a few yards in reserve for my most discerning customers.”
“Your least discerning customers, Quintus. Those enthralled to fashion’s most ill-advised caprices. Not I.”
“Of course, of course—” The gnome bobbed his head in consternation. “Joking, of course.”
“However I am not here to make a purchase for myself, but rather to advise my esteemed co-councilor to the Knight-Commander, his excellency Woljif Jefto.”
Woljif watched with satisfaction as the gnome’s suspicious glances turned, with some rapid blinking, into an ingratiating simper.
“What can I interest you in, sir?”
Woljif realized he had no idea where to start. He glanced at the Count.
“Black,” said Daeran.
“What if I want—”
“What you want, my friend, is you—just more expensive you. Walk into council meetings looking not like any old brigand off the street, but a successful brigand. Strikes a nice balance between commanding respect and thumbing your nose, wouldn’t you say?”
“All right, I’m trustin’ you on this.”
There were measurements to be made and fabrics to choose, and both Daeran and Woljif bit their cheeks as the gnome practically twisted himself into knots trying not to commit a faux pas by calling attention to his customer’s demonic appendages even while working them into his designs.
“I could get used to this,” Woljif grinned as Quintus bowed again and hurried off for another selection of silks.
When the clothes were ready a few days later, Woljif thought no other tiefling in the history of Golarion had ever been dressed so well. The silk shirt wrapped around and laced on the sides so that he didn’t have to pull it over his horns. The trousers buttoned over his tail so he didn’t have to cut a hole in them and then try threading his tail through it every time he put them on. Daeran looked him up and down with a satisfied expression. But the real test—well, that made him feel funny, so better not to think on it for now.
“Not bad, huh?”
Daeran nodded his approval. “Not only do you look like a very successful brigand, but one who has a friend and advisor with excellent taste. You know what we should do? I’ll invite you to my next party, and we’ll tell them you’re the Dread Pirate King of Absalom.”
Quintus’ assistant was tasked with sending his old leathers out to be scrubbed. Then it came time for the bill.
Feigning surprise and embarrassment, Woljif patted down his empty pockets. “Ah hells, I knew I forgot something.”
Daeran looked at him and narrowed his eyes, then shook his head. “Fine. You owe me. And don’t think I’ll forget it.”

Notes on Visions’ costumes
Kara (The Ninth Jedi): cannot for the life of me decide if Kara’s hoodie classify as a kimono. The shortened length puts it in Haori but it doesn’t have a straight collar. Also it’s serving more as a main piece instead of a jacket over the kimono. And the fact that it is properly closed with possibly a Hanhaba Obi if not something even simple with the lack of a visible knot. The sleeve length is common though sleeve hole is not small so I can’t put it in Kosode despite the straight slanted collar. So in the end it’s really more a hoodie jacket with overlapping collars and kimono sleeves? I did consider if I could call her whole ensemble a Jinbei but there’s the Obi and she is wearing it as a formal representation of herself. Yeah, so it’s more a kimono-inspired design but the sleeves, belt and Tasuki cord has all the most recognizable elements.
F (The Village Bride): Naturally all the kimono-wearing ladies has a modern/fantasy twist to it. Out of the bunch F’s ensemble might be closest to tradition, but it was still paired up with high heels instead of ankle boots. This point was particularly noted on during the special programme by director Hitoshi Haga as he mentioned the crew brought in heels to try the look on. Another deviation is that her single-layer collar is open quite wide over a turtle-neck, plus the sleeves are cut much shorter than the usual combo of furisode and the belt area is simplified. So you’d call her look 和洋折衷/Japanese-Western fusion (term applicable not only to fashion).
Haru (The Village Bride): The silhouette of Haru's bridal costume is closer to a 1840-50 evening dress with an off-shoulder neckline and poofy skirt. Though white only became western bridal standard after Queen Victoria's example, it has been a symbol of purity and choice of wear in rites of passage since the 15th century in Japan. The complementing blue recalls the craft of indigo-dyeing, under the spotlight courtesy of Tokyo 2020's designated colour. Despite a classic bridal/princess dress, Haru's horn headdress could be a smart subversion to the traditional Japanese bride's Tsunokakushi hat. 角隠し literally means "hiding the horns", as a metaphor to remind the bride to hide her temper and to become an obedient wife. It is the opposite case with Haru, where her love gave her courage to face the bandits.
Ocho (Lop and Ocho): I was a bit confused at Ocho’s childhood look at first because her ensemble is the standard festive costume for three-year-old girls at Shichi-go-san. I suppose it lends to the character’s innocence? The red-mustard-turquoise palette is a bit garish at first but the components from head-to-toe is actually quite typical: A (tsumami/fabric flower) kanzashi/hairpin, contrast lining or juban, hifu/poncho with the same hinata kamon/three-dots-in-a-circle family crest as her father and a pair of tabi/socks and funegata geta/wooden flip flops. Even the crest placement is faithful. Oh— the white chrysanthemum wouldn't be out of place if it was her mother that just died…
Ocho’s grown-up look is dramatic, over-the-top, perfect. The palette is the same except a darker shade in navy blue replaced turquoise. The gigantic bow reminds me, besides her namesake/kanji ‘butterfly’, of kabuki actors. I found the character Genkuro wearing a similarly exaggerated tasuki and side-slit kimono. While the character doesn’t share much in common, its play Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura, bears a similar backdrop of sakura blossom season and sibling rivalry. In kabuki makeup called kumadori, red is hero and blue is villain. In the mean time, scarlet eye makeup for geisha ‘wards off evil’ (along with the practical effect of making one look more spirited). I am fascinated by the conjecture that while Ocho’s costume is hinting at her antagonistic role, the dramatic blood eyeliner signifies Ocho’s mindset in seeing herself as the hero of the story. Then there’s the usual colour symbolism (or lack thereof) of stripping one’s identity with plain white armour/uniform. The cherry blossom + river motif is fairly normal. Before I noticed the Kabuki connection, I thought the side-high-slits were perhaps inspired by cheongsam and anyway is an act of rebellion against tradition by cutting up the furisode (thank goodness the sleeves are visibly longer than Kara’s). Either way, that’s a really cool look for a crime boss with the thigh-high boots and tattoo sleeves.

Was it worth it?" Deshanna's question scattered the thick silence shrouding the camp. When Elluin answered with a puzzled frown, she continued, "To leave your family in search of the long-lost secrets?"
Elluin swallowed the knot pulsing in her throat. After hours of silently staring into the fire and spinning plans after plans in her head, her voice came out in a whisper. "When I left this clan, I hoped to gather information to help us all, to remind us of what we have lost. I fashioned myself the saviour of our history. But now I'm–" she hissed when a pang of pain passed through her left shoulder. The damage the Anchor had done still tormented her, even after the loss of her arm.
"Now you ask yourself if you made the right decision to leave," the old Keeper continued, once again reading her mind as she had many years ago. "You traded your body and soul for the secrets you burned for, and you are unsure if it was the right decision."
"It's not just about me," she shook her head, glancing at the Aravels with their red sails swaying in the summer breeze. "The secrets I brought with me," she whimpered, looking down at the ants climbing her boots, too ashamed to face her teacher, "have torn my people apart. The ones who left-"
"They left of their own accord, Da'len," Deshanna interrupted her with a wave of her hand. "If they wish to follow Fen'Harel, who are we to stop them?"
"But-"
"Elluin," the old teacher reached for her hands, and the warmth of the touch soothed the pulsing grief in her soul. "You have wandered the world and tasted the bittersweet fruit of knowledge. A fruit your heart has craved since you could speak. Look into your heart and tell me, child, was it all worth it? Was it a mistake on my part to let you go, even though the others cursed me for my decision?"
Elluin opened her mouth to speak, but the words refused to come. The others admonished the Keeper for letting her go. Deshanna had waged her credibility on the wish of a foolish child. And now doubts plagued her, just as it did Elluin.
"It was worth it, Hahren," Elluin said, bowing her head to her teacher. "And I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Even if it hurts."

Yandere Dabi or Mr. Compress as pirates or aliens same anon.mind control nsfw for aliens. But for the pirates they capture a angry siren princess?
Tw:noncon, gangbang implication
When you’re lugged up in hard wiry net, you’re furious.
When you thrash and turn out of the water, different voices jeering at you, you bare your teeth back and let out a shrill scream that makes them cover their ears and yell at you to shut the hell up.
You take one last look at the blue ocean beneath you, and you swear the waves are reaching up in a farewell salute.
Your body is tangled in fishing net, some of it cutting into your arms, some of it into your now/forming legs. You don’t beg them for mercy. You’ve seen jellyfish with a worse sting than this whole situation.
But when the crew goes quiet, and they part like the Red Sea for their captain, you got silent too.
For the most abominable pirate stands before you, in all his black clothed-glory under the setting sun, a black hat tilted low on his face so that you couldn’t see all of it except for weird burnt patches around his lower face.
He wore a black trench coat with white engraving on the sides, a white ruffled shirt underneath the accessory. His boots had bits of actual skulls where his laces should be, and something tells you to keep quiet when he pulls out his sword.
He brandishes it before you and laughs when you flinch back, hissing in retaliation.
“And what have we here, boys? A little fish out of water?” The blade goes under your chin and tilts your head up, his own cocking to the side and scrutinizing your wet, naked body.
“Put me back, you vile bastard. I’ve done nothing to you or your crew. You’re in my waters-“
“-is that right? Well, why didn’t you say so?” He grins and lifts his head up. You finally see his face, half of it covered by spiky white hair with black tips, similar to the flag their ship proudly waves.
He steps back and spreads his arms wide. “Well then, little minnow. Go on, swim away!”
The brute laughs when met with your incredulous face.
“I’m serious! If you own these waters like you said, I’m sure you’ll have no trouble leaving this ship.”
You say nothing, but stare at him for a minute more before slowly entangling yourself, eyes never leaving his smirking form.
You’ve gotten through one tedious knot before you feel your legs being pulled tightly away from your body, as if someone were trying to take your lower half off.
You cry out and land on your hands. When you whip your head down you see one of the men fisting his hand around a stray clump of wires and pulling experimentally.
“Stop! What’re you doing?” You try to choke out but your wrists are pulled in the same fashion to the point where you feel your oceanic ichor being cut off from circulation.
Three, four more areas across your chest, up your bare cunt, around your throat are pulled this way and that, your limbs being eagle-spread.
You can’t even use your voice to sway them from torturing you, all you can do is let spittle fly out of your gaping mouth as your face slowly begins to flush in color.
The sea breeze casts its gentle hand across your ruddy cheeks as you see spots.
A seagull flies above you and hovers for a moment, contemplating helping its princess before seeing one of your fingers twitch in the opposite direction, an order to keep it moving.
It flies away, and a lone tear runs down your face.
The captain slowly walks in between your open legs, turning and shaking his head at you.
“What’s wrong princess? I thought you were so big and bad, weren’t you gonna show me who runs these waters?” He nudges his tie against your fleshy cunt and you shakily inhale.
“F-fuck…y-y-“
He clicks his tongue and the knots around your pussy and tits squeeze harder, the material rubbing uncomfortably against the sensitive areas.
All you can do is gasp for air as he unsheathe his sword again and taps it on your clit. The men around him are practically salivating as they watch the show.
You’ve never been so degraded, so humiliated before.
Captain Dabi hawks up some saliva and expertly spits it right onto your bound tit, exactly on your swelling nipple.
The crowd cheers as he takes his hat off and bows, leering at you as hands descend and start rubbing it into your slippery flesh.
With one flick of his hand, he grants his men permission to do as they please, and with a general roar dozens of limbs begin etching their mark onto your body.
He leans against the banister and smiles at you handsomely.
Everyone is shouting and grunting for a turn on your sob-wracked form, but you can still hear his gravely voice.
“Tell Mother Ocean she’ll get her precious daughter and land back when I’m dead.”

Egg-citing fashion!
Easter! This was one of Sun’s favorite holidays, mostly for the dressing up! Ever since he saw the outfits for Easter he couldn’t get enough of it, especially the Easter bonnets. Though Moon was ok with dressing up he liked his to be simple, Sun was more flamboyant with his choice of attire. It showed when they gave swimming lessons, if that wasn’t enough it didn’t help that Sun was going to get a chance to dress up their little sister for the occasion.
“Oh this is gonna be fun, I already know what I’m doing for you Clover. Your going to be the prettiest around when I get done!” Said Sun, flipping through numerous catalogues.
Clover just stood behind him, trying to see what he was looking at. Since she wasn’t around long she wasn’t sure what ‘Easter’ was in a sense. There was the religious version and the commercial version, but Moon already planned a much easier explanation for her, he simply told her Easter was a celebration of springtime. She accepted that, though Moon was sure she’d do research on the the topic later.
Sun then stood up and turned to his little sister, using two hands he measured her. From her waist down to her knees, then he measured around her torso and then examined her little hat. This wasn’t uncommon, he didn’t need measuring tape to get parameters his hands and arms were the only tools he needed for measuring. He then moved to Moon and measured him before measuring himself, using a mirror for that.
While he was doing that, Clover was busy looking at cookbooks of Easter themed meals. It was one thing she really liked about this whole Easter thing was the baking and cooking. She was already planning a menu for her three friends when Sun rushed out with three outfits.
“Clover, fashion show now!”
Before she could set down her book she was picked up like a kitten and dragged behind a screen, Moon followed…mostly to keep Sun from going crazy and…when the words ‘fashion show’ left Sun’s lips..that was enough to get the camera ready.
———————————————
[Daycare, after hours, Easter Day]
This was embarrassing, having to dress up to hunt eggs was something Gregory never wrapped his head around. Though it wasn’t a bad outfit, he just didn’t like wearing it cause he had to keep it ‘neat an tidy’ per his moms orders. His outfit was just a slate grey-black button down collar dress shirt, red an yellow striped tie with dressed blue jeans and grey-tanned loafers. Patrick on the other hand loved to dress up for Easter, he wore some dark black dress pants, white button down shirt with a maroon double-breasted vest. Unlike Gregory he was sporting a bow tie instead of the traditional tie.
Cordelia showed up sporting a dress herself, it was a simple pastel lavender dress with a overall style top and a white shirt underneath. It was something she wanted to wear, mostly to show off her robotic legs for her friends. Her parents were the ones who often made her wear pants rather then skirts or shorts, her hair wasn’t tied back like it normally was. It was left hanging down, reaching almost to the middle of her back. She was sporting a pastel purple headband on her head, the kind that looked like she tied a cloth knot on top to keep it in place.
“Wow, you look amazing!” Said Patrick.
“Thanks, you guys don’t look half bad either.” Chuckled Cordelia,
She paused and looked around. “Hey where’s Clover?”
“She’s getting dressed right now.” Said Gregory, messing with his tie.
They heard the Daycare door’s open, Freddy walked in with Roxy and Chica all of them dressed up for the occasion. Roxy, true to her nature had that ‘punk’ look. Sporting a coal black leather jacket with the sleeves rolled to mid forearm, a bright cherry red tanktop with the images of smashed Easter eggs and text reading ‘Lets get cracking!’ across the chest. She also sported a matching leather mini-skirt and thigh high boots with spikes along the heels.
Chica though stayed true to the tradition of spring, dressing in a long canary yellow sundress with a gingham design, short-puffy sleeves, the midsection was elastic so it hugged her waist while the skirt fell all the way down to her shins. Freddy, was far more simplistic. Staying more with a white button down shirt, pressed black pants and his signature bow tie. When his eyes locked on his favorite superstar, he made a bee-line for him.
“Gregory you look amazing!” Lifting his favorite little guy into the air.
Chica followed with equal enthusiasm. “Oh my goodness, you all look so cute!”
She dropped to her knees in front of Patrick and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug, Chica just adored when children dressed up, they had the cutest outfits around!
“Lookin good kiddo, show off them legs.” Roxy chuckled high-fiving Cordelia, she really liked Cordelia. One for her attitude, the other for her sense in fashion, the kid really knew how to dress not not just impress but destroy anyone around her.
Patrick looked around “Where’s Monty?”
“Mom’s still getting him dressed, he’s not so keen on it though.” Said Gregory.
An just when he finished his sentence, Monty walked in…looking both annoyed and embarrassed. He had a button down shirt but three of the buttons were loose, short sleeves showing off his muscles and black pressed pants.
“Not a word guys….” He groaned, apparently hating having to wear something ‘fancy’ for any reason, Gregory gave him a sympathetic look, he knew exactly how he felt.
Monty returned it by ruffling his hair before asking. “So, where’s the rest of the gang?”
“Here we are!”
Everyone turned to see Sun walking out in his full glory, an true to his style he was decked out for the holiday event. His top was a candy pink and sleeveless, button down with lace running down the front like ruffles, at the waist it flared out almost like a dress, beneath he wore light tan shorts and white heeled sandals, then there was his easter bonnet. It was a wide brimmed sun hat decked out with flowers and a large lacy pink ribbon with a solar pendant at its center.
“Whoa, Sunny boy looking good!” Said Cordelia.
“Oh we’re not done yet, wait till you see Moon!” Sun motioned and Moon walked out.
He had a similar look to his brother but his top had sleeves and not lace, sporting a lovely sky color, the sleeves stopped just above his elbows. It was buttoned down in the front and flared out at the bottom, his shorts were more of a slate grey and his heeled sandals were a deep nighttime blue with glitter in them, giving a starry sky desgined. His chocie of head ware was not the usual easter bonnet, instead it was what many called a ‘Rosie riveter’ headscarf, its color a deep blue with a floral wrap desgined with a crescent pendant in the center and star print.
“Moon your outfit is so beautiful!” Squealed Chica.
“This look is SO vintage!” Said Cordelia, admiring the design.
“Yeah, if you think this looks vintage wait till you see our sister.” Moon then motioned behind him.
Everyone watched as Clover stepped out…keeping to the vintage themed she was in a mint colored dress, four streams of lace going down the front stoping at the waist. The dress came down to her shin and each of her hands sported white satin gloves that stopped at her wrist with frilled lace. On her head was a simple beret bonnet, mint green like her dress with white trim all around it, there was a few flowers in the bonnet, small white clover flowers. Instead of wearing heeled sandals like her brothers she was sporting cute woven slipper shoes colored a deep picket fence white.
Everyone just stared at her, she looked like something out of a 50’s greeting card. She backed up to hide behind Moon but he stepped out to the side.
“Oh my goodness, Clover honey your so adorable!” Chica couldn’t resist, she scooped up the little animatronic in her arms and spun her around.
“Hey don’t hog her, let me have a piece!” Said Roxy taking Clover next.
It seemed her look was pretty popular, but Moon had to put a stop to it. He was still protective of his sister even around the other animatronics.
“Ok, lets head to the west arcade an start this party off right!” Shouted Monty, itching to start doing some dancing.
Everyone gathered at the dance floor, DJ having already set up music for everyone to dance to. Some for the kids some for the older animatronics, Roxy took a lot of pleasure in filming the whole event. It was a treat watching all the kids dance around to some of the music DJ picked, it was really adorable when they tried to do ‘swing’ dancing to ‘Rockin Robin’ an a few others. Though Sun, Moon and Clover dominated some of it.
Freddy had fun dancing with Chica, Monty joined Roxy for a few dances. There wasn’t any Easter egg hunts or anything, just dancing and food.
What more could anyone ask for?
End
[The name Jitterbug was collaborated by myself and @rainy-nomad I hope you all enjoy]

Walking Dress
A high dress composed of bright grey bombasine: the skirt is trimmed at the bottom with velvet bands to correspond  in colour; they are bias; are scolloped at one edge, and plain at the other: there are four of these bands, placed at a little distance from each other; the bottom one is rather more than half a quarter in breadth; the others are each something narrower. The body is tight to the shape: the long sleeve is rather straight, and falls a good deal over the hand; it is finished by three bands of velvet to correspond with those on the skirt, but much narrower: full epaulette, intersected with bands, which form into bias puffs: small standing collar, composed of velvet. The pelisse worn with this dress is composed of velours simulé, lined with sarsnet, and wadded; the colour an Egyptian brown: the skirt is rather wide; it is finished at the bottom by a broad band of velvet to correspond, above which is placed a trimming of the same material as the pelisse: it consists of two thick rolls, one of which is wreathed in a serpentine direction round the other, and both are ornamented with narrow folds of satin and gros de Naples mixed, which are fancifully twisted round them. The fronts are fastened up by full bows and ends. The waist is of a moderate length; and the body, which is plain, is almost concealed by a large pelerine trimmed with velvet to correspond. The sleeve is of moderate width; it is finished at the hand with velvet. High standing collar, fastened in front by a full bow. Head-dress, a bonnet to correspond in colour with the pelisse: it is a mixture of velvet and gros de Naples; the crown, low and somewhat of a melon shape, is covered with scollops of gros de Naples, edged with velvet, which stand up round it, and form a cluster on the summit. The front is very deep; it is rounded at the corners, and finished at the edge by a band of bias velvet; a bias band of satin, laid on in folds, is attached to the edge of the velvet, which is next the crown; and satin bows, fastened with a knot in the middle, are placed at regular distances. A full bouquet of roses mixed with fancy flowers, ornaments one side of the crown, and Egyptian brown strings tie it under the chin. Half-boots, to correspond with the pelisse. Limeric gloves.
We are indebted to Miss Pierpoint, inventress of the corset à la Grecque, No. 9, Henrietta-street, Covent-Garden, for [this dress].

FFXIV WRITE 2021 - #29 DEBONAIR
The servant looked downright scandalized when Jaxon asked for a brush and then promptly used it on a pair of shiba puppies. Still, the man said nothing, just waiting if he was needed again. He didn't seem to know what to make of the half-Elezen who was dressed in the sort of subtle elegance one could expect from Ishgardians. It was in stark contrast to Jaxon holding puppies in his lap and giving them a good brushing.
Jaxon had allowed himself to be dressed in what he considered 'fancy' clothing, even if it felt about twice as restrictive as armor too him. A high-collared white shirt under a black vest with a silver pattern imprinted on the cloth. It matched the black pants tucked into smooth, thigh-high boots with silver buckles. Over it was an elegant dark blue jacket that made his eyes appear darker and went well with his skin tone. It had been carefully explained to him that the silver of the buttons and buckles off-set his hair, the cut emphasized his best features, and the black would give him an air of elegance. And there was probably some other things in there, but Jaxon had been too busy trying not to get strangled by the black tie that had been knotted around his neck.
In all, he decided he looked presentable, if not very like himself in his opinion. It covered him from neck to toes, hiding all the scars save the one on his face, which apparently looked 'dashing'. He'd even been given a pair of thin black gloves.
"Ridiculous is what it is," he muttered as he finished brushing the little orange shiba, patting her head. The black male was bouncing in circles on the bed, chewing on a toy. "But that's how it is. To be fashionable, you have to look a bit silly."
The shiba woofed quietly at him, dark eyes blinking as Jaxon picked up a satin ribbon. The house colors Titijoma Ririjoma preferred were gold and green so in a nod to Joma's preferences so were the ribbons. After careful consideration, he put the green ribbon around the female pup's neck in a gentle bow. The little male's black fur looked nice with the gold.
"You look very cute."
The black puppy gave a sharp bark.
"Handsome?" Jaxon offered as he checked the basket of supplies he was including in his gift.
A snort escaped the puppy as he shook his coat.
"...Debonair?" The Ishgardian chuckled as the puppy gave a soft woof. "Very well, debonair it is."
Jaxon paused as a rush of sadness went through him. He knew it was for the best. Joma's daughter, Tataja Taja, would love them. He knew Taj would absolutely spoil them and he'd already talked to her before her birthday party to make sure the gift was acceptable. Granted, she would pretend surprise for her father, but Jaxon knew giving someone a living pet without asking was a bad idea. At least if it was magitek, there was no worry of food or harm if it was left alone. A puppy wasn't exactly the same thing, which is why him keeping them would never work. That didn't mean he wouldn't miss them or feel a little sad to give them up.
Blowing out a long sigh, Jaxon finished making sure they had bowls, leashes, some toys, and a few other things that were useful to have with puppies and then picked them both up. He set them gently in a well-ventilated wicker-basket, closing the lid firmly. "You're going to be the best birthday present," he said with a smile, sticking a finger through the slots to pet their heads. "Taj doesn't like to mention it, but she could use some good friends. So be nice to her, okay?"
With a sigh, Jaxon rose, straightening his outfit and taking a brief glance in the mirror to make sure he looked all right. He looked away quickly and picked up the baskets, head held high and back straight as he headed out. It was time to join the party and soon enough give gifts. If everything went as planned, it would go well and improve his standing with Joma. But more importantly, it would make Taj and the puppies happy.
So steeling himself for politics, barbed tongues, and dancing, Jaxon headed to the dining room to mingle and give the birthday lady his best wishes.

scully, snow, jellybeans, fox, guitar
He sits on the porch next to a little propane heater, gazing out at the Winter Hexagon as it slowly rolls above the horizon. It is the cusp of twilight, the lavender sky tinted with pale green edges that streak the snow with Monet delicacy. From the iPod on the table comes the friendly twang of CCR, all rhythm guitar and the Cajun affectations of John Fogerty. Mulder sips at a hot toddy, more warmed whiskey and honey than anything else. He tosses a handful of birdseed across the low porch wall and a flurry of chickadees seems to materialize from nowhere, squabbling and pecking on the blank page of the lawn.
They take wing when Scully trudges through the snow from around the back, shin deep in her heavy boots. She looks a bit like them, with a sleek black cap on her head and a thick black scarf knotted below her white face, though her cheeks are slapped rosy by the cold. She has her hands jammed into the pockets of her coat, a trim down cocoon, leaning forward as she walks.
Mulder holds a second mug up. “Looks like you could use this,” he calls.
She pauses to look at him, head tipped to the side with her long braid swinging out. Her lush mouth is pursed as she bites at the inside of her cheek, eyes bright as Sirius and sometimes just as remote. “Is that Proud Mary?”
“ROLLIN’,” he sings along. “ROLLIN’ ON THE RIIIIIVAH.”
Scully wrinkles her nose in distaste. “If you had a day job, I’d tell you not to quit it.”
He pouts, but holds the mug up again. “Come warm up. Your fox all sorted out?”
She nods, face canted towards the sapphire sky. Artemis in lux brumalis.  “I gave him some marrow bones."
The fox is big and glossy, with a lair in the bracken by the split rail fence. He is a wild creature, won’t come closer than thirty feet, but Scully leaves him morsels. She loves the vivid flag of his tail, the elegant contrast of his black stockings. It has become her pleasure to find choice treats for him, to keep his fur lustrous and his belly too sated for the poultry house.
“We should build a snowman tomorrow,” Mulder suggests. “A good old fashioned one with a carrot nose.”
Scully scoops a handful of snow in her black-gloved hand. “It’s a good consistency for a snowman, though no fun to walk through. An old fashioned one needs a top hat, though. And coal.” She hums a bar of Frosty.
Mulder considers this. “I have a baseball cap from Cradock Marine,” he offers. “It’s black, do you think that’s close enough?”
“Needs must. But we don’t have coal, either.”
“Well, you were a very good girl this year.” She had been particularly delightful on Christmas Eve, clad only in shadows and flickering light before a roaring fire.
She narrows her eyes like she knows what he’s thinking, but doesn’t play along. “You can pick some black jellybeans out of that bag in the pantry.”
“This will be better than an old fashioned snowman, Scully. Though maybe we should just go full Calvin and Hobbes and build snow zombies or something. Here, come up on the porch.” He beckons gently, as though luring a wary animal. In his deepest places, he is afraid she is still not yet tame either. She is doe-eyed, slender-limbed. She has bolted before.
Scully thumps up the steps, moon boots shedding snow in her wake. She accepts the steaming mug from him and he thinks that in fairy tales, it is the third try which binds.
She sits next to him on the wicker loveseat, cuddling close. Her head is bowed over her mug for a sip, curls of steam rising over her eyelashes. “Mulder!” she says, looking up. “Do you even have any water in this?”
He shrugs. “It’s not an exact recipe.”
She takes another swallow. “I’m a pretty cheap date, you know. You’ll have to carry me upstairs if I finish this.”
He hopes so; the weight of her in his arms taps some caveman primalness she’d shoot him for if ever expressed. He likes the idea of her hair spilling over his arm, her lovely face soft with drowsy whiskey eyes. “Tomorrow I’ll make a buttered rum that’ll knock your socks off.”
‘Socks or pants?” she asks, a sly smile.
He waggles his eyebrows. “How about you just don’t put any on?”
Scully puts her mug on the little table. “I love the sky out here,” she says, dreamy. She points a gloved finger towards the vault of the heavens. “The stars are so clear. Procyon, Rigel. Capella.”
Mulder is proud of their house, their foxes and pines and sky. He is proud that she loves it. He finds his throat unexpectedly tight and reaches for her other hand.
“Good,” he says.
Scully squeezes his fingers, then lets go to take her hat off. She unwinds the elastic from the end of her braid, shaking the plait loose. Her hair tumbles in waves like the Virgin Queen. She curls onto her side with her head in his lap, looking up at him.
He is afraid to touch her, to talk, to break a gathering spell.
She must see it in his eyes, must see something, because she uses her teeth to tug her glove off so she can reach up and touch his face. “I’m home,” she says.
Mulder kisses her palm and she drops her hand, smiling, closing her eyes. Her lashes brush her cheeks.
Beyond them the gloaming deepens into night, skeleton branches hold fragile treasures of snow, the fox gnaws bones in his burrow. In Taurus, Aldebaran glows dimly red.
He strokes her hair until her breathing slows. He carries her upstairs.

Witchkasas aesthetic would be so pretty 😮‍💨 like the really pretty longish black dresses with lace on them 😭 depending on her hair length she wears bows or headbands,,,, jdksjsow I’m just imagining her very classy and elegant looking all the while hunting down Eren for his knot
AHAH I love that!! That's definitely how I imagined witchkasa when I first wrote thunderlight, like all long pretty dresses, and elegant outfits, she's so freaking pretty and graceful!! This Witchkasa is a bit dirtier I think, more relaxed, like a typical uni student. She literally does her homework at the bar while she hangs out with Eren! 😂 She's still a classy fashion queen don't get me wrong, but I think she's a little more casual lol!! short skirts and combat boots maybe, long black jackets that flow behind her and sneakers with her jeans, like she's got that classy elegant edge, but she's still a university student studying her witch classes lol!!
