Choose The Best creative Boutique Agency In India
Tumblr media
A boutique agency is a relatively small company that focuses on providing a high-end service to its customers. The term "boutique" is used to describe this type of agency because it's usually focused on one specific area, such as advertising or design. Boutique agencies often have smaller teams than larger agencies and work with clients who have more specific needs than those who would be served by a generalist agency Boutique agencies are often chosen by clients because they can offer a unique approach to marketing or design that isn't available from larger competitors. A boutique agency can also offer personalized attention, which may be appealing to clients who want to work with someone who understand their business and goals better. Why do you need a boutique agency? A boutique agency will know who you are and what you want, they will be able to communicate with you more quickly and easily than larger companies that rely on multiple teams in multiple locations. You'll also be able to leverage their expertise and knowledge to help achieve your goals.
When you work with a boutique agency, you get more than just the same old thing. Here are some of the benefits: Relationship - Working with them is like having an extension of your own team. You can expect the same level of attention and dedication but you can also expect it to be more personal. Boutique agencies typically have fewer clients, so they can focus on you and your needs without being distracted by other assignments or deadlines. Flexibility - Working with a boutique marketing agency can provide your business the flexibility you need to focus on your core competencies. They will be able to provide you with marketing services that are tailored specifically according to your needs, so that you don't get to worry about having to accommodate the needs of multiple clients. This means that you'll receive personalized attention from a team of experts who understand the nuances of your industry which will ensure that you get exactly what you need. Targeted focus - They also provide a more targeted focus. When you work with a larger agency, you might get lost in the shuffle and have your project passed off to an intern but when you work with a boutique agency, you're working directly with the people who are authorized to solely do your project. This helps in keeping things focused and on priority. Innovation - The best marketing agencies are not the ones with the biggest budgets but the ones that understand your business and its needs. A boutique marketing agency is an independent, one-person shop or a small team that can meet all of your marketing needs. While working with a boutique agency, you will receive a high level of personal attention which is ideal for many businesses. Boutique agencies are able to provide their clients a high level of innovation because they are more focused on organizing their clients’ specific needs instead of simply following the trends in order to stay competitive. They also tend cast a small group of people in their team and therefore have fewer clients. This allows them to be more flexible in terms of offering personalized services and tailoring their approaches based on each client’s unique needs and objectives. The best creative agency in India

Doll History: Catwalk Kitties
Tumblr media
Tagline: “Sleek, chic, and très magnifique, these fabulous felines do everything with poise and style! So get ready to strike a pose and strut your stuff, because every trend starts on the catwalk…”
Company Lanard
Debuted: 2005-2006
Height: 11 inches/28 cm
History
Catwalk Kitties is a series of anthropomorphic feline fashion dolls who work as models at the Catwalk Kitties modeling agency in Paris, France. Unlike other toys, there was a focus on making sure there was as little advertising as possible-only appearing in a few toy catalogs. The series designer stated that the dolls were designed with the aim of being profitable to Lanard with minimal advertisement:
“With the doll market being incredibly competitive, the goal was to come up with a new idea for fashion dolls that would instantly appeal to girls and be profitable to Lanard without advertising.   I really felt that the only way to compete against Barbie and Bratz, who were both heavily advertised, was to have a new hybrid type of fashion doll.  The idea for the line came from "hands on" manipulations, drawing, painting and markering, on a naked fashion doll body with an enlarged head. I brought a couple of trend tear sheets and  a porcelain cat/ fashion/ collectible statue along with the rough model into a brainstorm  to pitch the idea.  I then worked with and creatively directed the talented group of artists & designers at Lanard to sketch and formalize all of the feline fashions and details that are uniquely the Catwalk Kitties.  Traditional fashion and hair grooming play patterns were used by wrapping the world of modeling around the dolls.”
According to the catwalk kitties wiki: While complete dolls are rare on the secondhand market, It is common to find unused factory stock heads on sites like Aliexpress and Ebay. Many collectors purchase these heads and put them on the bodies of other dolls such as Monster High and Barbie.

Tidying up the tea bags
Tumblr media
This is pretty enjoyable. From SMM at Reddit. Allegedly.
"This is all ALLEGEDLY. I have a friend who cleans house for very well-known, established, female actress/producer/director in “Hollywood”. (Not exactly Hollywood, butI don’t want to name the exact area. My friend has worked for “Actress” for years, and they have developed a rapport, as “actress” is a generally nice person who happened to hit it big, and has not forgotten her roots. She’s one of the good ones.
ALLEGEDLY: “Actress” has met TOW, and said TOW fawned over her like a serious fan girl. She literally followed her around an event trying to get a photo with “Actress”. Finally, “Actress” had to pretend to receive a very important call, so she could get away. TOW is literally a joke in the real A-list set. “Actress” says she is constantly made fun of, and has her assistant of the week call local boutiques begging for samples! Some actually say yes. Also, this is why TOW sometimes looks like she’s wearing a paper bag, or pants that are 3” too long. She gets the sample, and will wear it regardless of how it fits. Oh, and get this! She’s trying to create her own “style” with the super long pants. “Actress” allegedly told my friend that TOW is trying to start a new FASH-SHON trend with the long, dragging, pant legs! “Actress” and friends know this is BS, and that she simply hasn’t had the pants hemmed!
Oh, and all those fake “body shaming” Hollywood types? They call her The Box. No shape, no waist, no curves. Just a box. Nobody wants to dress her, nobody wants to be associated, and she pays full price for her “designer” accessories… which, according to “Actress” could be knock offs or fetched by her assistant from resale shops.
Also, “Actress” has been told through the grapevine that TOW and her poodle may have a former employee ready to spill the beans on the fights, the kids, the horrible treatment of staff and the all-around horrible working conditions inside the Sussex Mental Asylum. Oh, and TOW and poodle don’t sleep in the same bed. They rarely reside at their Montecito house… if they do at all. It may have silently been sold. Not 100% sure on that part. TOW is poison, she’s ruined any chance of ever being anything but Z list, and her agency is fed up.
“Actress” knows a lot of people, and has no reason to lie to my friend. “Actress” and friends have their daily laugh at the fake Princess and her poodle. The only people who will agree to work with them are no-name brands, z-list actors and failed show-biz types. The joke is that soon people will start seeing them hawking used cars in late night local TV! Oprah is also a joke. She’s only invited to things because people want her money, NOT her. She’s repugnant, classist and rude. She has forgotten where she came from. Nobody likes Oprah. Nobody. They only like her money. ALLEGEDY. Again… this is just chatter from the grapevine."

Tumblr media
I'm doing another lingerie history throwback post, this time about the short lived diffusion line, L'Agent by Agent Provocateur.
L'Agent launched in 2013, when diffusion lines for luxury labels had become the norm in the fashion industry. These younger sibling brands offered goods at more accessible - though still expensive! -price points that allowed luxury brands to court aspirational shoppers without damaging the perception of exclusivity for their main lines. L'Agent followed this same strategy, with prices that were roughly 50% cheaper than AP.
Although many diffusion lines were eventually phased out, I think there were other reasons for L'Agent's doomed history, including the fact that it was such a latecomer to the diffusion game. Most popular diffusion lines at the time had launched more than a decade earlier and at this point, were considering shuttering operations. D&G closed in 2011, Marc by Marc Jacobs in 2015, Burberry Brit in 2016. While diffusion lines allowed luxury brands to build a larger, younger customer base, they also demanded more administrative and marketing resources and for many brands, they failed to differentiate themselves enough from main lines, dragging down that perceived luxury prestige.
Which brings me to my next point. A number of L'Agent's designs were clearly reworked versions of AP's designs. Obviously they were not exactly the same and the materials were different - but the latter is not something you can really appreciate when you're shopping online. Although AP digitally isolated L'Agent into an entirely different website, which it did not do with Soirée*, I feel its own designs were so distinctive, that didn't matter. At certain angles, I can't even tell the difference between L'Agent's Danita and AP's classic, Nikita.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While L'Agent was meant to be more youthful than AP, its early collections, especially the sets that did not crib from beloved AP designs, lacked a strong, cohesive voice. Despite this, L'Agent expanded rapidly, opening its own stores with what must have been a considerable outlay of capital. Here's an image of L'Agent's fourth store, which opened in Montreal in 2015.
Tumblr media
Honestly, this Victoria's Secret-esque retail environment, nothing like the lush, boudoir-vibes of AP boutiques and their shop girls in their pink Westwood uniforms, strikes me as less fun and cheeky and more cheap and tacky - which is a shame because their lingerie was much better than what you could pick up at a VS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I didn't feel compelled to purchase a L'Agent set, I did pick up a pair of Idalia knickers for prosperity's sake. You can see the top photo of this post for the whole set. The panty has a number of costlier details such as picot edging, hidden seams, i.e. no gusset "pocket", and a two-toned lace. The stitches on the narrow elastics are actually three-point zigzags so they're tiny. However, the materials are a huge step down from AP. The lace feels stiffer and rougher and while the picot is cute, it irritates my skin a little.
You can still see many examples of other L'Agent sets online. I'll link to a few examples below.
Screenshots of the original website provided by its design agency

AW 2015
SS 2016
AW 2016
SS 2017
In contrast to L'Agent, diffusion lines that were more successful were those that meaningfully created a "conversation" with the main line while having its own distinct voice. For example, I could always recognize a McQ piece, even if it was more editorial. They often repurposed elements you'd see on the Alexander McQueen runway into more streamlined, streetwear inspired pieces such that you'd never mistake a McQ piece for an Alexander McQueen RTW piece. McQ persisted through the 2010s and it was only in 2022 that the line was "suspended."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to struggling to find its own voice, financial troubles at AP, which would eventually lead to the company's bankruptcy, proved to be the final nail in L'Agent's coffin. By late 2016, AP announced that it would be downsizing both stores and staff at its headquarters by a brutal 30% and L'Agent was definitely in the cross-hairs. L'Agent bit the dust the following year - it held a final sale for the 2017 post-holiday season and by February 2018, it was all over.
Despite this, I feel like L'Agent lives on. Current AP lines like Fia, Laily, Whinette and Yara all have a L'Agent vibe to me. Which is to say, the luxurious details I associated with older AP sets have increased in price at AP while L'Agent-ish sets that have simpler designs and cheaper materials have created a lower tier to AP's lingerie without actually being cheaper than the cheapest AP sets back in the day. In this way, the inflation of AP's prices are better hidden from the consumer. Can you tell from the photos below which model is wearing L'Agent and which is wearing AP's Fia?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2021, AP tried its hand again at the diffusion game with its "All Hours" line. This one was much shorter lived and you can read an analysis about its failure on The Lingerie Addict. Only the Lucky line survives in an "Anytime" collection.
Interestingly enough, in 2024, we are starting to see the return of the diffusion line. Society has not emerged from the pandemic unscathed and the cost of living crisis as well as punitive measures against workers have crushed the spending power of aspirational shoppers. Meanwhile, capitalists have only gotten richer. As a result, prices in the luxury sector have rocketed skyward as brands zero in on their rosters of VICs (Very Important Clients) with specialized services and double down on exclusivity. But it seems like younger brands like Aries, that may lack the rolodex and capital of more established houses, are once again, returning to the diffusion line while older lines like Comme des Garcons' Play appear to be selling well.
Personally, I'm not sure if we'll ever see a diffusion line from AP again. Because AP's brand is already youthful, playful and cheeky and no one wants expensive basics from a brand like AP, there is nowhere for an AP diffusion line to go. But the fallout of the decimation of the middle class is still playing out. And we will see if AP has what it takes to respond to this tread of increasing income inequality and financial precarity.
* While brands were launching diffusion lines, some also launched higher-tier "demi-couture" lines like Burberry Prorsum that featured more expensive and experimental materials and fashion forward, editorial designs - AP pursued this tactic as well with its Soirée line which launched earlier than L'Agent in 2009.

is solarpunk compatible with space travel?
I am currently a big fan of solarpunk, but my first love in the world of science and science fiction was related to space travel. I realize that space travel is a very tainted concept. Our understanding of space is greatly impacted by colonialism, imperialism, and capitalism. While solarpunk feels like a response to the infinite growth mindset, space is literally described as another frontier. This may be a massive piece of copium on my part, but I wonder, can there be a solarpunk version of space travel? Is it possible to have a decolonial interest in leaving the earth? Can an understanding of the rest of the universe allow us to be in community with it more successfully? I don’t have super developed answers for this right now, but I think it could be interesting to make gestures in that direction.
One of the ways to solarpunk space could be to transition the industry and to locally scaled, community-based initiatives. Right now, space economics are deeply wedded to money and the nation-state model. Instead of a focus on scale, where there are massive agencies that decide how space technologies are explored, there could be more boutique outfits that are based in specific, human-scaled communities. This would probably not be high on the priority list of a community, but could be a nice to have once other needs are met. Maybe, if space travel needs a degree of centralization, there could be an exploration of using federation to collectively decide how to develop space programs on a regional level.
This program could be developed through an open source model, where communities have their own makerspaces and fabrication labs. People could develop and experiment with space tech, and the open source model would allow breakthroughs to be more quickly proliferated. One of the most important things for a solarpunk space program would be that bottom-up, equity-centered approach.
Due to space programs being couched in hegemonic modes of operation, the process tends to be very wasteful. From all of the debris in the atmosphere, to the motivations of various space movements themselves, there is a lack of critical analysis of domineering systems. For space to get solarpunk’d, the economies of creating spaceships and the like would have to be circular, with making sure that there is minimal impact on our environment, moving us towards a degrowth orientation. Even life support systems and on-mission resource management should have a regenerative focus.
The main thing to focus on is the needs and wants of communities. Governments and corps should not dictate what going to space looks like. The design of spaceships and habitats should be participatory. Everyone who has interest should be able to contribute, and anything developed should have a communal focus. In other words, these projects would not just be the machinations of a single eccentric.
This ain’t to say that it’ll be easy. A community-driven space program is hard to imagine, when space travel lives in a very imperial, statist milieu. Maybe we can look at Earth-bound advancements for inspiration. On Earth, we can see the potential for decentralized production, cooperative ownership, and ecological communities. Looking at space through this lens has a lot of potential in my mind.
We can use solarpunk principles to move towards the future in ways that are truly inspiring and ecologically sound. Collective and individual creativity can be harnessed to great ends. So. Can solarpunks go to space? I, selfishly, hope so! But it would have to be to the ends of connecting more with our universe (expanding our definition of nature), and improving the lives of all. We have to prioritize regeneration, equity, and community, to create a cool space program.

I finally got around to making designs (and redesigns) for this AU and I'm really happy with how they turned out (I'm bouncing off the walls!! /j)
lore yapping under the cut + up close references
references :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think once I write everything down properly it'll all make more sense but. I still want to explain the lore. I've been holding back wahh
TW For death and slight body horror mention on Black Rose's part?? I'm not sure if it's considered that but just in case.
this AU was previously my superhero AU but a year or so ago I changed it, I think thorns & thistles sounds better :D
Esra was the goddess of the moon & stars in my oc universe, and the stars were her people. Stars are made of light, so they took any form they wished and made their own little kingdom basically, way above the Earth's atmosphere. I'm just calling it the Star Kingdom for now, but I may come back later and change it to something else. This is all very much not final. As far as the. Names of things and places go.
Aurora was very close with Esra, and worshipped the goddess endlessly. She devoted her entire existence to Esra, not caring for anyone or anything else. So when Esra suddenly disappeared (she was dying and went to Earth to spend her last moments), Aurora didn't take this well and became a fallen star. The worst possible version of herself. She blamed humanity for stealing her goddess and swore to destroy it. She was kicked out of the Star Kingdom because of how unstable she became.
Lunette is the reincarnation of Esra, but doesn't realize this until she goes to an art exhibit one day and sees a portrait of Esra, slowly realizing in that moment she and the goddess look almost entirely identical. The people around her in the exhibit notice too and their stares freak her out to the point she hurries out of there without a second thought. One of those people was Aurora in disguise as a human. Aurora thinks Lunette IS Esra (memories and all), and that's where everything starts to go wrong.
Black Rose is my oc Ocean. She has the ability to turn into black rose petals and speed off when she needs to, and can summon thorny vines from the ground as well. She wears a mask because she doesn't want anyone knowing her identity but.. a lot of people close to her know. She got her powers during one of her floriculture classes. A black rose she had never seen before was growing in one of the greenhouse pots and when she touched it, she passed out. Her powers are kept stable by her brooch. If the brooch is removed, it could be fatal. Her powers can cause the thorny vines to grow inside of her body, which. I'm sure I don't have to explain how bad that is.
Lady Mauve (Previously Lady Lavender) is my oc Terri, who is a scientist for an undercover agency. She doesn't bother wearing a mask, since most people already know who she is. She has telepathic powers, and can move things with her mind, read people's thoughts, among a lot of other different abilities. She gained her powers by accidentally knocking two chemicals together and inhaling before she could properly cover her face. Like Black Rose, she has to wear a brooch to keep her powers stable. She made the brooches she and Black Rose wear. With the help of Ocean’s aunt, Marianne.
Fun fact! Marianne is a witch. She has a room full of potions and spellbooks in the back of her boutique. She helps Lady Mauve and Black Rose travel to the Star Kingdom further along in the AU, which is where they meet Noor, the local tour guide.
I don't want to uh. Spoil everything so I'll just leave it at that. I love this AU so much ahhh. I hope to do more art and writing with it in the future!!
